Hoshi Minato
Hoshi Minato
Portrayed by: Hiroya Matsumoto
A famous space entertainer with the title "Space King of Pop". He travels the universe to look out for super stars and stars in a radio show.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Was being controlled by Don Armage and Akyanba until the Kyuurangers freed him.
- Demonic Possession: A combo of this and the above, he was more or less being possessed by Don Armage's spirit since shortly after the King of Pop.
- Expy: of Dasonu*Maso from Sgt. Frog.
- Recurring Extra: Appears to be his sole purpose in the show, until episode 35, at least.
- Rubber-Forehead Aliens: A particularly low-budget take on this. Makeup, wig, antannae, costume, that's it.
- Sir Not-Appearing-in-This-Trailer: His character and actor never appeared in the live concert and conference. His actor does appear in miscellaneous group shots but fans thought he was a random Super Sentai alumnus available. In the show he's only seen on a TV in the first episode, and during the ending credits (even more briefly), but doesn't make a proper appearance until Space 14.
Professor Anton
Professor Anton
Portrayed by: Tsuyoshi Ujiki
The genius professor who created Champ, Anton is also a renegade Jark Matter scientist who was culled by Scorpio. The good part of him, anyway; the evil part, a Mad Scientist par excellence, transferred his consciousness to an electronic brain and continues to assist Jark Matter.
- The Atoner: Heavily implied with the creation of Champ, and educating him on how his conscience and sense of justice is what separates him from actual weapons of war. It was actually his good half doing this to thwart his evil side.
- Awful Truth: Anton was a Jark Matter head scientist, and all his tech is responsible for the conquest of the universe. Also, the one who saved Champ from becoming a war machine was his good half that was intentionally split on Anton's part.
- Berserk Button: Questioning his intelligence is a real big one, as well as being called "stupid".
- Brain in a Jar: Anton's evil half is the cybernetic variant.
- Cyborg: Not Champ, but Anton himself, apparently extending his own life for about 300 years.
- Death by Origin Story: Two stories, in fact. His fate unknowingly tied Champ and Stinger's together.
- Einstein Hair: As befits the benevolent scientist archetype.
- Fusion Dance: In his final episode, he fuses with the Champ prototype that was carrying him around in order to combat the rangers directly.
- It's All About Me: The evil side of him is utterly self absorbed and thinks his genius is the greatest gift to the universe. He even goes along with Don Armage's "destroy the universe" plan as he thinks he'll be renowned for being the one that helped him do it...even though it was pointed out to him that if the universe was destroy no one would be around to really know about it.
- Literal Split Personality: As part of his effort to keep himself alive, his evil Mad Scientist half uploaded himself into a cybernetic brain, leaving the good half in charge of his body. Good!Anton was the one killed by Scorpio.
- Mad Scientist: His evil side.
- Older Than They Look: No kidding. He'd been around since the original Jark Matter conquest of the universe began.
- Posthumous Character: Zigzagged. The good half was already killed before the series began, but the evil half was alive and well.
- Split Personality: Was really a Mad Scientist who served Jark Matter, but ended up having a good personality that attempted to thwart his research. After his Literal Split Personality, his good side escaped with Champ and programmed him into s heroic robot with a sense of justice.
Jiro Sakuma

The younger brother of Kotaro Sakuma.
- Badass Adorable: How many kids do you know that would throw rocks at the monsters that enslaved their planet?
- Color-Coded for Your Convenience: In Space 5, when he debuts, Jiro is seen wearing an orange vest, which directly ties in with Foil below.
- Defiant Stone Throw: Alongside Kotaro, it was his way of rebelling Jark Matter.
- Foil: Can be seen as one to Stinger. Jiro is a character associated with orange who looked up to his older brother. Unlike Stinger, Jiro still looks up Kotaro, for he fights to protect Earth rather than betray it to Jark Matter.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: While Kotaro went on to become a member of Rebellion, Jiro was never seen after their introductory episode. It can be assumed he's staying with their family, but still, no mention is made.
- Space 25 reveals that he's been staying with his and Kotaro's uncle. He reappears when the team goes back to Earth for the final assault on Jark Matter (Space 45).
Big Bear

The former Supreme Commander of Rebellion, who died saving Shou Ronpo from Ikagen and Madako.
- Badass Longcoat: The same one that Shou wears in the present day.
- Bears Are Bad News: He certainly was for Jark Matter, but averted when it comes to the heroes. Before Shou took up the mantle, he was the Big Good.
- Body Surf: As a ghost, he can freely possess people, though he primarily does this to Kotaro.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: His name is Big Bear. He's a Big Bear.
- Expy: To Ramirez. An incredibly strong warrior associated with a light-blue color. He died in battle, provides the team with Backup from Otherworld, and he chooses a successor to his power.
- Due to his bear motif, ability to possess people and change the hair and eye color of the person he is possessing, he can be seen as one of Kintaros.
- Large and in Charge: He was even taller than Shou.
- Made of Iron: Ikagen and Madako ran him through with their tentacles and he kept on fighting to the bitter end without breaking his stride.
- Posthumous Character: Died before the events of the series. The first time we actually see him is during a flashback to the same day he died.
- Sealed Good in a Can: It turns out his soul was in the Ohguma Kyutama.
- Take Up My Sword: As a ghost, he gives Kotaro the power to become a Kyuranger and figuratively take his place in the fight against Jark Matter.
- Taking You with Me: In order to save Shou, he held back Ikagen and Madako and then detonated an explosive with the intent of killing both of them along with himself. Obviously he failed to kill them but did save Shou preventing this from being a Senseless Sacrifice.
- Walking Spoiler: He's one to Shou's backstory, and Kotaro's powers.
Eris

The forest guardian of planet Keela, Eris has been saddled with an even greater responsibility ever since a certain ancient knight called Orion... uhh... an ancient draconian alien called Shou Ronpo put the Carina Kyutama in her hands.
- Don't Go in the Woods: She's the very reason the people of Keela have believed this for generations.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Starts out in opposition to our heroes, but being chosen by Orion himself places her firmly on the side of good.
- Love Freak: Big time. Maybe you could chalk it up to the loneliness of immortality, but within the space of one episode she falls for Spada, then throws him under the bus in favor of Lucky.
- Older Than They Look: Apparently looked the same as she does in present day when she received the Carina Kyutama in what's implied to be from before Tsurugi's time.
- Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Played for Laughs of course.
Orion (Tsurugi's old comrade)
Orion
Portrayed by Kai Shishido
A savior of the universe from a long time before the main series. He entrusted one of the parts of the argo to the forest guardian and is implied to have a close connection to the Kyutama.
- Big Good: An ancient warrior who protected the universe in the past.
- Carry a Big Stick: His weapon, reflecting his home constellation.
- Deflector Shields: Can summon these in combat.
- Died Standing Up: He dies of his wounds while kneeling.
- The Faceless: We don't get a look at his face during his first appearance. Only in Space 28 do we fully see him.
- Light Is Good: Wears primarily white and is a major hero in this universe.
- Legacy Character: The Super Big Kyutama allows Lucky to take a similar white appearance and likely power as Orion Shishi Red.
- Luke, I Might Be Your Father: When he finally appears in Space 29, he mentions that he sent his wife and unborn son back to her home system, the Leo system, implying that Lucky is related to him - although it's yet to be revealed if Lucky is said son or just a descendant.
- It's eventually revealed that Lucky is Orion's descendant.
Aslan
King Aslan of Kaien

The ruler of Planet Kaien and Lucky's father.
- Demonic Possession: He was forced against his will by becoming one of Jark Matter's members. In Space 43, his son Lucky has successfully liberates him by slicing the cursed mask.
- Disappeared Dad: Space 41 reveals that he is somehow still alive, but possessed by Don Armage.
- Heroic Sacrifice: In Space 43, he destroys the Planetium Bomb using the Dark Kyutama and saves the universe in the process at the cost of his own life.
- Meaningful Name: His name is Turkish for "lion"; he hails from the Shishi (Lion) System.
Quervo (unmarked spoilers)
Quervo
Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa
One of the original warriors who fought alongside Tsurugi in the past and one of his best friends. Gave his life protecting him in the original final fight against Don Armage. Or did he...?
- Always Someone Better: He was always resentful of Tsurugi being more powerful than he ever could be.
- Driven by Envy: His envy of Tsurugi being a generally better hero than him leads him to ignore Tsurugi complementing him for his intelligence, and leads him to commit a Senseless Sacrifice to get his name into the history books. This also allows him to make a deal with Don Armage, allowing for the latter's survival and for the former to further stew in his envy.
- Face–Heel Turn: Subverted, he was never much of a good person in the first place as he just wanted ride the coat tails of Tsurugi's fame and be remembered in his legend. When Don Armage offered him power after he was nearly killed, he seized it without a single moment of hesitation.
- Hate Sink: In his final scene, where he attempts to kill Tsurugi out of hatred and spite, even though he purged him from Don Armage. He absolutely deserved his demise.
- The Heavy: Of a sort. While Quervo himself is only seen in the form of Don Armage for much of the series, he acts as the willing vessel for that majority, and his own greed for power was the reason the true Don Armage was able to survive and rule over the universe.
- Meaningful Name: His name comes from the Spanish word "cuervo" meaning crow; he hails from the Karasu (Raven) System.
- More than Mind Control: He actually resented Tsurugi for his strength and willingly let Don Armage take his body for power as he laid dying. When he's freed from Don Armage's control, he tries to attack Tsurugi in a last feeble attempt and is struck down.
- No Body Left Behind: After Tsurugi finishes him for good in the present day, his body turns to dust and is blown away in the wind.
- Not Quite Dead: He is the current Don Armage through the entirety of the series which explains why the Jark Matter leader is still kicking in the present day. He's purged from him at the third episode from the end.
- Secretly Selfish: Quervo shared with Tsurugi in Space 46 that the reason he was self-sacrificing to him was to make sure his name goes down in history as someone who helped the legendary warrior defeat the Big Bad.
- Posthumous Character: Died in the original confrontation with Don Armage protecting Tsurugi... Or so we were led to believe.
- Walking Spoiler: Rather hard to talk about him due to the reveal later on in the series.
