Nothing bad happened
It's a cycle, no matter what you think
The unchanging truth, the stagnation of this bond
Make it
Nothing bad happened
You're you, you're you, you're you, you're you, you're you, you're you
A barren Blow and a rushing Flow
High with the beating of my heart
Up and up!

  • Abhorrent Admirer: La+ is a huge fan of Gen 4's Tokoyami Towa, though unfortunately for her, Towa at best tolerates her and at worst is annoyed by her.
  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • "Lap-chan" started off as one that only a select few were allowed to call her, with La+ still preferring to be addressed with the "-sama" honorific. However, her first collab with Towa, the original holder of the "-sama" title, ended up beating her in Clubhouse 51 with the penalty being La+ having to forfeit her "-sama" title and permanently using "Lap-chan" in its place.
    • She is called "Chibiko" by Iroha.
  • Afraid of Needles: She's developed one after being submitted to a mildly traumatic blood test, where she almost cried after being pricked by the doctor to get a sample.
  • The Alleged Boss: She's the founder and leader of HoloX, though the other members constantly tease her and don't really follow most of her orders.
  • Ascended Fangirl: La+ is a huge fan of superheroes from Superman to Spider-Man to Batman. Imagine how she felt when she got the chance to interview Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, the leads from The Batman (2022)!
  • The Baby of the Bunch:
    • La+ is treated as the resident small child of HoloX and HoloJP as a whole, supplanting Gura and Luna's positions in height and childish personality, both on-stream and in person.
    • She revealed to Choco that she is the eldest of five siblings but is often thought to be the youngest of them.
    • Miko proclaims La+ to be the third member of HoloBabies.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Kobo. It's little surprise the two of them could hit it off, considering both are pint-sized kusogakis with a love for FPS games, especially Valorant.
  • Boastful Rap: After Haachama intimidated her with a rap video, La+ later responded with a short music video of her own. Haachama got so impressed she admitted defeat at one point. And it was the first rap she's ever done.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: La+ is very haughty despite her diminutive stature, coming across as even more smug and arrogant than Shion before her, the kusogaki of Hololive. In fact, their first collab together is basically just a feedback loop of smugness. As the cherry on top, La+ addresses herself using wagahai, which is the pronoun usually associated with arrogant characters who perceive themselves as superior to those around them.
  • Butt-Monkey: Everyone, from her viewers to fellow talents, quickly saw how easy it was to bully La+, who began accumulating a long list of memes used to rile her up. It got to the point where Towa, herself a butt monkey, joined in with using her Yamada nickname.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: La+ is known to get drunk very easily. Even very low alcohol content can change her behavior to becoming wild and chaotic.
  • Chained by Fashion: She wears heavy purple manacles around her hands and on her legs, as well as an iron collar, which put a damper on her power and intellect.
  • Character Catchphrase: Introduces herself with "Katsumoku seyo!", officially translated as "Behold!" but sometimes unofficially rendered as "Heed my call!"
  • Chuunibyou: Her general attitude is very representative of one. To her credit, she supposedly used to be extremely powerful, at least. For one, she talks in a flamboyant, supremacist tone, even using the wagahai honorific to address herself. She also constantly remarks on her powers and intelligence, her goal of taking over the world, her having a ridiculously long full name, and her backstory being full of absurd claims. In typical fashion, she is quick to get angered when people infer she's a child.
  • Comically Missing the Point: While La+ was introducing herself in a game of telephone, Polka asked her to say "Katsumokuseyo" (刮目せよ) in English (it's "Pay close attention!", "Behold!", or "Heed my call!"). However, La+ responded by exaggeratedly pronouncing "katsumokuseyo".
    Lui: [flatly] Yes, my dark.
  • Companion Cube: Invoked during a Q&A talk stream, where La+ expressed a desire to buy an automatic rice cooker and likened its capabilities to living together with a girlfriend, even going as far as to jokingly tell her fans not to get jealous in the event the cooker's automatic voice is heard on her stream.
  • Cross-Popping Veins: Her July 2023 visual upgrade gave her these as part of her model's angry expression.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: La+ is capable of unleashing deafening screams of shock in a similar manner to Rushia's infamous "death metal voice".
  • Cute Little Fangs: She has two, best seen whenever she smiles, or the camera zooms in on her face.
  • Cute Oversized Sleeves: Her default outfit has oversized sleeves with shackles as cuffs that cover her hands completely, juxtaposing her haughtiness with her small size. Her New Year's outfit also applies.
  • The Cutie: She is small, cheeky, and very cute. Other members will swear by how adorable she is, both on-screen and even more so off it. Iroha, Miko, Fubuki, and Chloe all shared stories of when they met with her in person.
  • Deliberately Cute Child: Sometimes she plays with her The Baby of the Bunch role to invoke Cuteness Proximity from the chat and her genmates. She once streamed with a baby pacifier prop.
  • Depower: Said to be known for her vast power and intelligence before it was sealed away.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": The crow on her head doesn't have a name, so she named it... Crow.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: "Yamada" note  which was conceived during her debut. Her viewers ended up taking La+'s Phrase Catcher "Yes My Dark" and abbreviating it to "YMD" which then led to people saying it as "Yamada". Eventually La+ herself would get called "Yamada", all of which she is not amused by.
  • Expressive Accessory: The crow blinks in unison with her.
  • Fangirl:
    • Like Fubuki, she is BIG on Superhero media and western media in general. She cites the MCU, the DCEU, the Arrowverse, and the Fast and the Furious movies as some of her favorites. One of her goals is to become Superman.
    • She has mentioned being a big fan of Suou Patra.
    • She is also a self-confessed Kenzoku, to the point that in her first collaboration with Towa, she struggled to speak clearly. When confessing this to Marine and Fubuki, she became adorably flustered.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Downplayed compared to many other girls, but she only wears a sock/stocking on one of her legs.
  • Fun Size: Officially the smallest member of Hololive at 139cm, being respectively one and two centimetres shorter than Luna (without her crown) and Gura. Other Hololive members have confirmed this holds true for her in real life as well, with her being short enough to be mistaken for a child.
  • The Gadfly: She has a tendency to poke and prod at her fellow members to see what makes them tick. Notably, she likes to call Calli a lolicon whenever she says how much she enjoys La+'s company, which Calli always tries to deny the moment La+ accuses her.
  • Gratuitous English: Her attempts at speaking English can come out a bit garbled and confusing. During Calli's English lesson collab, her attempt at saying "I like Earth" came out sounding like "I like ass", while she misunderstood Calli saying "throw" as "four" and "yeet" as "eat".
  • Has a Type: After watching the "debut" (and "graduation") of EN's holoMinistry, La+ confesses that she has a thing for guys with glasses. Naturally, she was attracted towards Mumei's Spear Counterpart, Muman.
  • Head Pet: Has her crow companion on her head, though she affirms it is there against her will and refuses to leave no matter what. Eventually she was finally able to remove it. Similar to Pekora's Pekomon, the crow shares the same rigging as La+'s face and will emote with her, though its expressions are limited to eye movement and blinking only.
  • Hellish Pupils: Fittingly for a demon (albeit with her powers sealed), La+'s golden eyes feature black vertical slits for pupils.
  • Hey, You!: She frequently (and loudly) refers to her roommate as "Onna!" (lit. "woman") whenever she needs to tell her something.
  • Hidden Depths: As it turns out, La+ knows how to draw in a realistic style.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has two massive horns that jut upwards from the sides of her head. According to her character lore, they're already that big when her mother gave birth to her, which raises some questions.
  • Idiot Hair: Although normally hidden by her Head Pet crow, La+ does actually have an ahoge.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Ever since she became old enough to drink, having reached the age in 2022, La+ began holding semi-regular drinking streams. She ended up saying that often she can't work without a drink first.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Downplayed; while she is by no means truly insecure, she admits in spite of her ridiculously haughty persona that she sees her viewerbase as a bunch of doting parents watching over her rather than actual subjects. In addition, when a newcomer asked her "which talents should I watch?", a question to which most idols answer or heavily imply that they should keep watching them, La+, of all people, humbly presented an honest list of talents that she sees as good choices for a new viewer and even said that they should "leave her for last" due to some of her degenerate tendencies.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After Haachama challenges her to a rap battle, La+ retaliates with her own rap, scoring a temporary victory against her (by the latter's own admission). However, when chat challenges her to do a rap battle with Calliope Mori, the normally arrogant and confident La+ is quick to admit her inferiority in the face of the rap master herself.
La+: I'll get beaten up to a pulp. [...] I'll get turned to ash. All that will be left is some formless things you could never tell used to be me. Seriously. I'll have to change my name to La+ DropsDead!
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: She blames the shackles for not having any memories from before she got sealed.
  • The Leader: She is the founder of holoX, though for the most she is The Alleged Boss, as her genmates tend to treat her as either The Baby of the Bunch or a Team Pet than their boss. Lui generally fulfills the duties of a leader in her stead.
  • Macho Masochism: La+'s December 14th, 2021 ASMR Video stream largely consists of her sucking up to Koyori during her own stream by acting out increasingly bizarre and raunchy scenarios where La+ imagines herself at the mercy of Koyori.
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: Downplayed. While La+ is by no means mean, she has a tendency to act very bratty as part of her character. However numerous hololive members who have talked to or met La+ offstream have remarked that La+ is extremely polite IRL.
  • Meaningful Name: Her backstory proves that her name is a reference to the "Laplace's demon", as without the shackles, she's able to analyze and predict all physical state at any point in time.
  • Medium Blending: As part of her 3D debut, she shared a special video with the audience that featured herself set against various real life backdrops, either roleplaying a date or just generally goofing off.
  • Mister Big: She is the founder of Secret Society holoX, but she is also the shortest hololive member.
  • Mondegreen: Her English pronunciation of "Earth" whenever she says "I like Earth" can easily be misheard as "ass," much to Calliope and Kiara's amusement.
  • My Nayme Is: Her name is "La+ Darknesss". Yes, that is "Laplace" with a plus sign and "Darkness" with three S's.
  • The Napoleon: She seems to become more catty and evasive whenever her height is brought up, insisting that she is "not a loli", but a grown adult.
  • Narcissist:
    • Most of her debut consists of Evil Gloating, asking viewers to admire and worship her, and generally pointing how "great" the things associated with her are.
    • She likes both being praised and praising herself. She even has an "ita kimono" with a massive self-portrait and manga-style artwork of herself for the pattern.
  • NEET: She is a self-proclaimed NEET who relies on her followers to get work done while she lounges about in her luxurious HQ.
  • Nerves of Steel: Unlike the majority of her generation, La+ has very few problems with horror games. In her stream of The Closing Shift, she remained remarkably calm, in contrast to most of her senpai.
  • Nice Girl: Behind the boastful and irreverent persona is a girl who is very nice and unfailingly polite.
  • Odd Name Out: She is the only one in holoX whose name is written in full katakana and in Western order.
  • Older Than They Look:
    • Lore-wise, she looks like a kid though she asserts that she's grown up, even if she forgot exactly how old she is.
    • Offline, everyone who has met her in real life shares that she's really small and she's been mistaken as a primary schooler by an NHK representative despite the fact that she's old enough to legally drink alcohol.
  • The Omniscient: Formerly. She is the "Laplace's Demon", a theoretical entity that would be able to predict the future based on the state of matter in the present. However, she lost this ability as a result of her shackles.
  • Our Demons Are Different: She is said to be a demon with precognitive powers who wishes to take over the world, using being an idol of hololive as an outlet to recruit people. Also, unlike Choco and Towa, La+ doesn't possess a traditional devil tail, her tail instead resembling a long string of pluses.
  • Overly Long Name: As expected of a Chuuni, she has a supposed "real" name that embodies Word Salad Title with gusto.
  • Percussive Therapy: Like her idol Towa, La+ also has a tendency to abuse Desk-kun when angered by the game she's playing.
  • Perpetual Poverty: La+ wants to raise superchats so holoX wouldn't fall into bankruptcy, while she lives in a luxurious apartment on the 43rd floor of a condominium with a rent of 50 million yen.
  • Phrase Catcher: Requests viewers to respond to her with "Yes My Dark", which gets nearly unanimously done. She later elaborates that abbreviations like "YMD" note  and alterations aren't allowed, which gets pretty much ignored.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: The smallest member of Hololive to date, but if her claims are true she could potentially be one of the most powerful members.
  • Pointy-Haired Boss: Due to her intellect being restrained by her shackles to the point where she's less a demonic evil mastermind and more a bratty kid, La+ doesn't actually contribute anything to holoX despite being its founder. If anything, she is The Millstone since her careless spending is the biggest drain on the struggling society's resources, and Lui and Koyori - the actual de facto leaders - make it a point to avoid listening to any of her orders.
  • Power Limiter: Her true powers are stated to be sealed and she's aware that the shackles around her neck, sleeves, and ankles are restricting her.
  • Pride: Refers to herself using the archaic and arrogant pronoun "wagahai". Likewise, she addresses her viewers as "kisamara", the least insulting and condescending translation of which would be something along the likes of "you lot".
  • Purple Is Powerful: Has a primarily purple color theme and is described as being very powerful, or at least used to be.
  • Security Cling: During her 3D debut, she was challenged by staff members to eat extremely spicy food alongside A-chan and Fubuki, with Lui watching the whole thing beside La+. As soon as La+ feels the burn, her immediate reaction is to try and hug Lui for comfort. Humorously, Lui almost immediately turns her around and puts her back in her seat.
  • Self-Made Myth: Her "backstory" video contains summaries of some of her alleged past exploits, which include being adopted by an organization (and then destroying said organization) as an infant, getting accepted into Harvard (and promptly getting expelled) at 4 years old, playing billiards with planets at 7 years old, creating Earth at 10 years old, defeating Satan in an E-sports match (but "losing her gaming skills in the process"), sinking Atlantis and being the original Yeti, alongside claims of being able to grow to 12 billion kilometers tall and possibly being an android and/or an alien and/or a time traveler. The video ends by advising the viewer to "believe it or not".
  • Sensing You Are Outmatched: According to La+ herself, the reason she 'misspelled' ANSWER as "ANSER" in her reply tweet to Haachama's DARKNESS rap was that ultimately she knew it wasn’t a battle she could've won. This became ironic when Haachama ended up conceding defeat after all.
Viewers: Why did your tweet say ANSER? The W is missing, you know?
La+: Because I never had the chance of getting the W(in) in the first place.
  • Ship Tease: Has text chats with Iroha on a daily basis, and after getting the samurai to send her pictures from her visit to her hometown, she sent out a tweet that made it sound as though La+ had gone there with her.
  • Shout-Out: During her debut, she reenacts a scene straight from Death Note when Light Yagami kills Ray Penber, even telling her viewers to write their names into the slot on an envelope.
  • Shrinking Violet: Despite her bratty persona, the real La+ is apparently very polite, soft-spoken, and shy, as described by Iroha, Miko, Fubuki, and Korone, who have met her in person.
  • Sidekick Creature Nuisance: Her crow is actually not someone she wants the company of, saying that it's practically stalking her.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: Admits that she sometimes doesn't wear clothes when she sleeps.
  • Starfish Language: Can speak in her native "La+ Language".
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: In her first tweet she states that she's no one suspicious.
  • Spell My Name With An S: It's somewhat difficult to some people to notice that her surname has three S's at the ending (Darknesss), making many clippers ignore that single character without noticing.
  • Spoiled Brat: She likes to demand things from her subjects, including her fellow gen mates. When she heard that Lui could make sweets, she immediately listed off all the sweets she wanted Lui to make for her.
  • Take Over the World: Her main goal is to get enough followers through hololive to conquer Earth, which she calls Planet Eden.
  • Tarot Motifs: Death. Her full name includes the words Death Thirteen, after both the tarot card and its number, and the card's meaning of beginning anew lines up with her scheme of conquering the world.
  • Token Mini-Moe: While her true age is unknown, she looks and acts very much like a small child, and a particularly bratty one at that, thus officially supplanting Luna and Gura as the Token Mini-Moe of Hololive at large for this reason.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Soft drinks in general, but she seems to prefer Coca-Cola above all else, and seems to be taking a liking to Sprite as well. A can of Coca-Cola can be seen on her desk during her intro.
  • Trash of the Titans: Not on Chloe's level, but if her Twitter Space is to be believed, La+ has quite a rubbish mound in her room that she only rarely cleans up due to her not getting many visitors to her home. Of note are the pile of a week's worth of Uber Eats packaging, a random seashell, as well as a surprisingly copious amount of fallen hair, so much that her guests might get the impression that she owns a dog.
  • Tsundere: As abrasive and irresponsible as she is, La+ cares very much for her fellow members. Lui told La+ that she would stay by her side, while Chloe talked about how she received emotional support from La+ prior to her debut. Both instances led to flustered responses from their leader.
  • Unreadably Fast Text: There's a line of text appearing once during the standby animation. Considering it uses a very unnatural font, you're unlikely to read this in 6 seconds.
If there be light, then there is darkness; in cold, heat; in height, depth; in solid, fluid; in hard, soft; in rough, smooth; in calm, tempest; in prosperity, adversity; in life, death.
  • Vague Age: She admits that she doesn't know just how old she is on Earth, just that she is an adult. A discussion she had about alcohol implies that she might not be old enough to drink by human laws until 2022. The closest thing she gave to a concrete number was during her Minecraft collab with Shion, where she jokingly claimed she was 5,896,789 years old.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: According to Kanata, La+ is scared of animals in general, which she feebishly tried to deny. Kanata then brought up an anecdote of La+ reacting to her pet rabbits in terror when the latter came to visit, as opposed to everyone else who found them cute.

OVERD

  • Affectionate Nickname: Her fans and fellow idols usually refer to her as "Lui-nee", befitting her image as the Cool Big Sis of the group. Koyori also calls her "Lui Lui" during group activities as well.
  • Animal Motifs:
    • She seems to have a hawk motif going on note , with wings and feathers being a prominent part of her design. Her Eye Colour Change is even referred to as her "Hawkeye mode".
    • Like most of the other bird girls, Lui has a bird species that she gets memed to by the fans, in her case a flamingo due to her pink coloration.
  • Arc Number: 61. Her birthday is on June 11th, or 6/11, she's 161 cm tall, and she says she stopped keeping track of her age after turning 61, though she later said that she'd lived thousands of years. This is likely because, as noted under Punny Name below, "61" can be read in Japanese as "Rui/Lui".
  • Big Brother Worship: Like several other members, Lui had a close relationship with her older brother growing up and even admitted to having him as her first ever crush.
  • Blank White Eyes: Her model has this as part of her terrified expression, which also turns her Blue with Shock.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: She's shown to be incredibly resourceful with holoX's finances, and is always on top of her game when it comes to business pitches, but her actual business pitches tend to be incredibly bizarre.
  • Coat Cape: Wears her coat this way, with a chain connecting the lapels.
  • Cool Big Sis: As mentioned, she is something of a big sister to the rest of HoloX, and even jokes about her being intended to be a "dependable older-sister type" in the first of her Almost Daily Shorts. There's a reason her viewers call her Lui-nee. She exudes such a mature aura that she's been reflexively called "Lui-senpai" by several other members, despite being one of the latest additions to the cast.
  • Cool Shades: She has a pair of Kamina glasses directly framed into her model. Her frogmouth, Ganmo, and his two little Head Pet buddies also each have a pair.
  • Cuteness Proximity: The Abyssgard twins elicit this reaction from her - she finds their interactions with each other and the rest of hololive to be so precious that she has declared herself their "knight" and is determined to make sure that nothing bad happens to them.
  • Darker and Edgier: Her original songs tend to be this in comparison to the rest of Hololive, as she's the only talent who's dipped into Heavy Metal with works like "Fools Fools Fools".
  • Dragon-in-Chief: She's technically the second-in-command of La+, the Founder of the Society, but it's fairly obvious that La+ is unfit to lead in her current state and, for all intents and purposes, Lui is the true leader of HoloX.
  • Eye Colour Change: While her eyes are normally blue, she has a "Hawkeye Mode" where her eyes turn orange and pupils turn into crosshairs.
  • Fangirl:
    • She named Marine as one of her favorites. She supports all of the holomembers as a whole but feels extra kinship with the pirate as the two of them worked in black companies before joining hololive.
    • Another favorite of hers is Calli, who she says she watched quite a bit before she joined. After she joined, she described Calli as very kind and supportive. It is adorably completely mutual.
  • Failed a Spot Check: One of her shorts features Lui striking poses and making faces in front of a mirror. She does not notice that her reflection does not perfectly mirror her movements, or that her "reflection" is actually her Evil Doppelgänger in a mirror, for that matter.
  • Full-Name Basis: Is frequently referred to this way by the other girls, especially when yelling about her rather than directly to her. She also specifically requested Marine to address her this way.
  • Hair Wings: Her hair is part-feathers and has wings that are animated.
  • Harem Seeker: Seems to have the objective of dating at least 7 girls simultaneously. When she proposed to start dating Koyori, it was noted that she would only be able to do so on Tuesdays. This topic was brought up during one of Koyori's Asakoyo News bulletins.
  • Hartman Hips: One thing that immediately strikes with her mature design is the emphasis on her hips, made obvious by the form-fitting shorts she wears.
  • Head Pet: Not her head, but her companion frogmouth, Ganmo, has a stack of two birds on top of its head.
  • Insistent Terminology: like most of the holobirbs before her, Lui is insistent that she is not a chicken or a flamingo, but that she is a beautiful hawk.
  • Jaw Drop: Sports a pretty impressive one when surprised, as demonstrated when La+ told Lui what her big dream was.
  • The Lancer: Her profile states that she's technically the leader of holoX in cases when the Founder can't solve the issue herself. Her debut and collab with La+ shows her very much playing the Foil to her leader, being responsible and mature when La+ is not.
  • Leg Focus: Her long, slender legs are accentuated by her heels and black nylons.
  • Mama Bear: Has a mother-daughter relationship with La+, with Lui doting on and protecting on La+, making meals for La+, and even protecting La+ from being bullied.
  • Mirror Routine: She does this with her reflection when she passes by a mirror. She does not notice that her "reflection" is actually her Evil Doppelgänger, given that she did not notice that her "reflection" does not perfectly mirror her movements in some areas.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Her clip of learning what "Kenja time"note  was immediately stuck to her, being discussed on A-Chan's monthly recap and added to her wiki page. Many fans suggested giving her the title "Takane Lui Kenja"Translation, which A-chan said "sounds cool if you don't know the real meaning behind it."
  • Only Sane Man: As per norm per generation in hololive JP, you have the Chuunibyou La+, Ditzy Genius Koyori, The Pig-Pen Chloe, and the Butt-Monkey Iroha with Lui having the most bits of sanity among them.
  • Pungeon Master: It's harder for English speakers to see, but Lui is at least as fond of puns as Kronii and Ina are.
  • Punny Name: "Lui" can also be spelled as "Rui" (61), which shows up in her height and age, as well as her Minecraft handle (takanelui61).
  • Refuge in Audacity: In the first episode of her Almost Daily Shorts, she makes a public apology for trying to be a badass in her debut rather than a "dependable older sister type", after getting chewed out for that. She then promises to play her part as a hololive newcomer, follow in the footsteps of the other members... and go full meme, continuing with her badass image anyway right afterwards.
  • The Scream: Her default reaction to just about anything in a horror game. Funnily enough, in a similar vein to Calli's screaming, Lui's own actually sounds more like a boy's instead of a girl.
  • Strictly Professional Relationship: Lui views Chloe as a business friend and likes to entertain their teasing in the strictest professional sense, despite the latter viewing the former as her wife. This leads to Chloe's realization that her crush is one-sided, and that she just got friend-zoned in front of Noel and Flare (whose relationship is cemented).
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Confesses to have such feelings (in-character, of course) in her first song "OVERD", but doesn't feel comfortable voicing them. In the same song, she also says that she tends to take almost all of the responsibilities in holoX upon herself, seemingly because she can't trust the other members to handle them.
  • Team Mom: Being the most mature and responsible member of the entire generation who cares for everyone in a warm, motherly way, Lui tends to be depicted as this, especially during her interactions with La+ and Chloe.
  • Too Many Belts: Not as plainly obvious as Chloe's, but Lui does have around half a dozen small belts as part of her outfit. And that's not mentioning her Coat Cape which seems to be patterned entirely with belts.
  • Triangle Shades: In the first moments on screen shows up with golden shades. Her frogmouths also wear these in different colors.
  • Twin Threesome Fantasy: In a discussion of fetishes with her genmates, she claims to only be interested in twins.
  • Vague Age: She's been looking forward to her 61st birthday at some point, but after that she's stopped counting. Though she knows it's in the thousands.
  • Villain Song: Lui accomplishes this with her first original song by reminding the listener that - as far as hololive lore goes - holoX is the closest thing the setting has to genuine villains, singing about how much she's looking forward to conquering the world with the rest of her genmates.
To overthrow the world YAYAYA Till the day it's done
Purgatory YEAH YEAH YEAH It's all around you too YO YO YO
To conquer the world ARE ARE A To the promised land
Come on, let's raise the flag of overthrow X X After overthrowing
We'll toast to a bottle of vintage wine
  • Whip of Dominance: Has a whip holstered on her thigh. During her 3D debut she uses it to "punish" the viewers and offers the same to La+.
  • Workaholic: Lui doesn't trail far behind Koyori in that she streams nearly every day, sometimes twice a day, and gladly lends herself to collabs with other branches.

Feel all the tears and love and wagging of tails
Howl howl, come on and shout it out!
Please remember the me who can't achieve at all
Just let me prick your heart, pretty please!
WAO!!

  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: During Koyori's first stream, the story depicting her family shows that even without taking human form, she and her mother both have pink fur.
  • Animal Motif: Coyotes. Her cursor is one and she comes from the savannas, where her coyote parents taught her to be smart.
  • Ash Face: During her loading screen, one of her potions explodes, turning her entire body dark and sooty.
  • Birds of a Feather: She meshes particularly well with fellow pervert Marine, with the two of them having an off-collab that had them getting up to increasingly lewder activities.
  • Connected All Along: In a stream Koyori reveals that she is the creator of Roboco, though Roboco herself has no memory of this due to Koyori wiping her memories of the event.
  • Depending on the Artist: Koyori's tail is often drawn differently between artists: Official material from hololive and her artist Momoco have it very fluffy and almost ankle-length, while other artists (such as Hutaba Haru) have drawn it shorter and sleeker.
  • Ditzy Genius: She is the self-proclaimed brains of the operation, though this doesn't prevent her from being clumsy at times.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": A coyote named Koyori.
  • Fangirl: She is an Ahijo, a hardcore fan of Subaru.
    • She has also become an avid fan of Final Fantasy VII recently, given that she creates a Cloud Strife-like spiky hair image which she moves onto her head on part 4 of her FFVII stream, as seen here.
  • For Science!:
  • The Gadfly: Koyori's description states that she enjoys deliberately messing with people just to see how they'll react.
  • Gratuitous Laboratory Flasks: Koyori has several colorful test tubes on her person, and her loading screen shows her mixing chemicals in a laboratory filled with beakers, flasks, crystals, and even a cauldron.
  • Hidden Buxom: While Koyori herself is a downplayed example with her coat usually hiding her curves, she says that she likes the type of girl who would do this rather than proudly display them.
  • History Repeats: Like many debutants before, her Twitter account got suspended very soon after it was made public, though in this Gen she's the only one who got hit.
  • Holographic Terminal: Her model is accompanied by 6 floating holographic screens that she can toggle on or off.
  • Labcoat of Science and Medicine: Wears a long coat, as a scientist would.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Has coyote ears, a cat smile, and one visible fang.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: After being outed as a Covert Pervert, Koyori stopped bothering to hide her lewd behavior and would shamelessly talk about such topics onscreen.
    La+: Damn kinky pink coyote.
  • Mad Bomber: The "Solved with a Bang! Koyori-chan" shorts, has Koyori cause an explosion every episode, usually via her custom rocket launcher.
  • Mad Scientist: Many of her experiments seem less than ethical, with her messing around with unusual concoctions and machines.
  • Meaningful Name: While not written with the same kanji, "Hakui" is Japanese for "white coat" (as in, a labcoat). The "博" ("haku") used in her name means "doctor" or "professor", again referencing her scientific theme.
  • Motor Mouth: Her debut is her introducing herself for more than 30 minutes, talking a lot and barely stopping to get a breath. More than one live translator in her debut commented that they couldn't keep up with her.
  • My Instincts Are Showing: One segment in her 3D debut puts her in a savanna setting, with the activities she engages in gradually reducing her to howling and barking in a coyote like manner, visually indicated by a meter measuring how much of a wild animal she becomes.
  • Perky Female Minion: Official material often depicts her as this for holoX.
  • Precious Puppy: Her mascot is a robot coyote pup named Kokoro-chan. She's pastel pink, sits snugly either in one of Koyori's labcoat pockets or on her head ala the Pekomon and La+'s crow (or on her shoulder in her kimono outfit), and is absolutely adorable. Her 3D debut reveals that she has an entire factory dedicated to making robot pups like Kokoro, with her Assistants taking the form of them as well (with an added labcoat akin to Koyori's own).
  • Reality Is Unrealistic: While her claim of being a coyote from a savanna may have raised some eyebrows, savannas make up 20% of the Earth's landmass and are not exclusive to Africa, which means her backstory makes complete sense.
  • Riddle Me This: Her debut interrupts her backstory with two "challenges", the second one is "[1 ? 15]. Make ? rise to the top of the world on the bluebird." Answer
  • Sadist: Occasionally her experiments are less For Science! and more because she enjoys putting people in perilous or troublesome situations, and she can veer into Yandere territory from time to time.
  • The Smart Gal: The brains of holoX. Her scientist attire isn't just for show.
  • Smart People Build Robots: She claims to be Roboco's creator. Roboco herself doesn't seem to remember any of that happening, though.
  • Smart People Play Chess: Inverted. She's the brains of holoX but has only played chess once, in which the lost against Kobo in less than 5 minutes. She has since stopped playing chess altogether, fearing it might bring memories of her quick loss to Kobo.
  • Superpowerful Genetics: Defied per her personal backstory. Mama Coyote figured that Koyori would inherit Papa Coyote's motor skills and wouldn't have to worry about becoming physically fit, so she focused on training Koyori mentally. Turns out that she didn't inherit Papa Coyote's motor skills, leading to a build best described as "science-based Squishy Wizard".
  • Trauma Button: Asking her for a game of chess is enough to traumatize her, given that she lost to Kobo in less than 5 minutes on their first collab.
  • Workaholic: Koyori loves streaming to an absurd extent, streaming nearly every day if not multiple times a day, on top of accepting any and all collabs that come her way, to the point that Mio was shocked to discover she had already put out 400 hours worth of videos in her first three months. When the topic comes up on the official hololive channel as a skit about Gen. 6's secrets, Koyori chalks it up to hours feeling like mere minutes to her and jokingly says that she essentially lives in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

    Sakamata Chloe

Sakamata Chloe [JP: 沙花叉クロヱ]

"Baku, baku, baku!"
Debut date: November 29th, 2021
Birthday: May 18th
Height: 148 cm
Fanbase Name: Shiikuin note
Illustrator: Parsley
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: None (self-proclaimed)
Species: Orca
Affiliation: UMISEA
Occupation (bar idol): The Cleaner (and Intern) at Secret Society holoX
Languages spoken: Japanese, English (learning)
Affiliation: KanaKen Construction
Put on, it’s all an act. More likes, please react
Boring? That a fact? A two-faced Cinderella
“I wanna dream” “I wanna disappear" And so the lines are blurred between me, myself, and I
It’s all right and it’s all wrong
“I wanna dream” “I wanna disappear And so the lines are blurred between me, myself, and I

  • Almighty Janitor: Despite only being the cleaner and intern of holoX, she is actually an orca girl and by her own admission possesses a lot of power.
  • Animal Motifs: Orcas. Her hood and mask are patterned after an orca's head, complete with the white patches commonly mistaken for their eyes, and her large black jacket is opened at the front to expose her white dress, similar to the bright countershading of the killer whale's body.
  • Apologises a Lot: Her first day on Twitter was mostly filled with apologies to gen-mates about oversleeping, and a good portion of her debut stream is her apologizing non-stop to the audience and tweets from various members.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Of Shion. She cannot bear to stream at the same time as the witch because it would mean that she can't watch her oshi.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Her outfit has bits of yellow CAUTION tape in English as an additional warning and reflecting her Cleanup Crew role.
  • Butt-Monkey: Chloe competes with La+ for the title of the most ponkotsu in hololive, what with everyone trying to get her to take a bath (which also spawns jokes about her stench), getting her advances towards Lui flat-out rejected, and being the general target of a lot of pranks from her seniors.
  • Casual Kink: Despite appearances, Chloe is a massive masochist. Like Marine, she seems to have a thing for spanking, and isn't afraid to ask others to hit her in the butt, much to their dismay.
  • Character Catchphrase:
  • Character Tic: She has a tendency to pant rapidly whenever excited.
  • Cleanup Crew: Her job seems to imply this role for holoX.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's this to her genmate Lui, having declared her to be her wife (which Lui denies whenever bought up) and doesn't take it well when someone else has eyes for Lui, or if she tries to flirt with someone while Chloe's in earshot. Eventually, she resigned herself to not being able to earn her affections.
(after a bout of mutual flirting between Kronii, Mumei and Lui at the Minecraft Summer Festival)
Chloe: No! My wife! Lui is my-
    Kronii: OUR wife.
    Chloe: NO! NO!
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Her thoughts are a little... out there sometimes. For instance, when her chat told her to "look up" at a misspelled screen header, she proceeded to look up past the top of her monitor at the ceiling, thinking that someone in chat was looking into her room and scaring herself, much to the amusement of her viewers.
  • Covert Pervert: Despite seemingly being The Cutie, Chloe would unveil more and more of a perverted side, constantly flirting with her fellow talents and talking about her fetishes on stream. Eventually she dropped the covert part and became an openly shameless pervert who could rival Marine.
  • Cross-Popping Veins: Sports one in her angry expression on her mask.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Chloe's cutesy "Poe poe poe", which she uses specifically to annoy her genmates and stream partners. Sometimes, her genmates turn the "Poe poe poe" on her.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: What she ended up being despite being hyped up as The Stoic in her bio, with her repeatedly forgetting to do things in her debut stream like turning the BGM back on after muting it for a showcase, leaving her mic on when she wasn't supposed to be speaking, and more. In a playthrough of Portal, she managed to kill herself in the second chamber, which has no hazards whatsoever, by detaching a camera with the portal gun, trapping it in a portal infinity loop, and getting caught in the camera's trajectory as it falls.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Sports one of these.
  • The Cutie: Initially she seemed like the resident cute precocious girl of her generation, with her baby voice, shy attitude, as well as her sweet and kindhearted nature, she quickly endeared the hearts of fans and her fellow hololive members. Later on, she leans more towards The Fake Cutie, due to her dirtier and more perverted side being on full display, though she is still capable of inducing Cuteness Proximity with her cute mannerisms.
  • Dagwood Sandwich: Chloe made a real-life example of one in a live cooking stream, which she called the Zombie Burger. It consisted of two homemade half-pound burger pattiesnote  with barbecue sauce-covered sausages, ketchup and three slices of American cheese, all sandwiched between a buttered green bun.
  • A Dog Named "Cat": Her baby orca mascot is named "Inu". As in, "Dog".
  • Dramatic Unmask: Near the end of her debut stream, she removed her mask, revealing that she has wide red eyes beneath. Cue squeeing from the chat. Hololive themselves naturally followed up on this by releasing an updated version of holoX's debut trailer with Chloe unmasked.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: While technically still a feature of her design, Chloe's mask was basically abandoned after her debut, with her official artwork and channel banner being updated with a maskless version accordingly. Similarly, her original hairstyle is rarely used after a model update in early 2022 gave her a new, straighter look which ended up becoming the default hair for her 3D model that debuted soon after.
  • Everyone Has Standards: For as much as she lives in a messy room, even she’s grossed out by the Baker’s house from Resident Evil 7!
  • Expressive Mask: It can blink, get mad enough to show a visible vein, and even cry.
  • The Fake Cutie: Zig-zagged. As she became more and more comfortable showing her perverted side, clips of her increasingly included the phrase "Oga was right", in reference to the holostars member instantly seeing her as someone who uses her cuteness as a weapon. She would eventually reflect just how much she and her relationship with her chat changed since her debut, going from chat doting over her cuteness to chat calling her annoying, making fun of her odor and wanting to punch her. In spite of this, she is still capable of illiciting Cuteness Proximity with her voice and mannerisms, despite her more unsavory qualities being known.
  • The Fixer: Stated to be the fixer of the group.
  • Foil: To Gura and Mumei, who, like Chloe, are predators (shark and owl, respectively) and the fourth member to debut in their respective generations.
    • To Gura, with the two girls frequently compared with each other by their fellow talents. Both are sea creature-themed girls (a shark and an orca), with Chloe's species being the natural predator of Gura's. Both are short girls with hoods and excel at singing. Both started off as seemingly The Cutie before becoming less seiso over time. Both also have tremendous speeds in acquiring subscribers. Due to their lores, the two girls are often considered rivals, with Chloe expressing a desire to eat Gura. The contrast, however is that Chloe dropped her seisoness much, much faster than Gura, and her chat quickly went from doting on her to wanting to hit her, while Gura still gets considered cute even after becoming less pure.
    • To Mumei, both are noted cuties and good singers. While they both started out as The Cutie, Mumei remains so even with flashes of pervertedness and creepiness, while Chloe is exposed as an openly shameless pervert. Mumei's fans still consider her cute and embrace her tendencies, while Chloe's consider her annoying and mess with her. Even their cuteness clashes as Chloe uses hers as a weapon, while Mumei does so with no effort. In contrast to Chloe being scared of horror movies, Mumei finds them amusing, if not also cute. Chloe has also come to see Mumei as a romantic rival for Lui.
  • Giving Up the Ghost: She has a special emote that gives her Blank White Eyes while her soul flies out of her mouth.
  • Gratuitous English: Chloe brushed up on her English skills before debuting, so she tries to drop English phrases in her streams for the overseas fans. She even dedicated a stream to practicing her English by interacting with her overseas fanbase and playing a guessing game with them.
  • Happily Adopted: She is all too happy to accept Subaru's declaration that the duck is her mama.
  • Hates Baths: While she does take baths every few days, she is very reluctant to take them on a more regular basis, and refuses to do so every day. Her chat and many of her fellow talents have tried to bug her into taking a bath, even inside of Minecraft where she ends up kicking and screaming in protest. After moving in with Lui, the poor girl gets slapped with the condition of being refused dinner unless she bathes beforehand, much to Chloe's despair. Spring of 2022 has her talking about embracing baths.
  • Haunted Heroine: Chloe seems to be a Weirdness Magnet for supernatural things.
    • She became scared of bathing after she saw a woman's face reflected in the soap bubbles in her youth.
    • A spate of seemingly unnatural occurrences started cropping up in her home in early July 2022 that significantly interfered with her stream schedule and well-being. Starting with what appeared to be a woman's voice captured by her mic, things escalated when Chloe started to feel physically unnerved just by being in her own home, and according to Lui, she even managed to capture visual disturbances on camera. Based on how her manager, Lui, and Iroha all felt something was off when hanging around her, even after she had temporarily moved in with the samurai, it is implied that it's Chloe that's haunted rather than her house. A year after this haunting, Chloe confirmed that during the interim, she had hired an exorcist to purge the house, with him claiming to her that her bloodline had been cursed, and that she was being haunted by three spirits at the time.
  • Heavy Sleeper: She describes herself as such, with her claiming in her debut stream to be able to sleep for up to half a day in one go. In fact, her first official Tweet was her apologizing profusely to her genmates for oversleeping.
  • Height Angst: Hinted at. She's very quick to point out how much taller than La+ she is when introducing herself; at 148 cm or 4'10", she's tied with Aqua * for the 6th-shortest active member of Hololive, ahead of only La+, Luna, Gura, Shion, and Anya.
  • Hidden Depths: If Holo no Graffiti is to be believed, then behind Chloe's cheerful demeanor is someone with a pretty extensive degree of angst over her job as the cleaner. When talking about wanting to hit the beachside, she, completely out of nowhere, drops this.
Chloe: I want the waves to wash away the bloodstains all over my hands.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Chloe eagerly pursues Lui as a wife but is largely ignored, with Lui insisting they are only business partners.
  • Identical Stranger: Although they were designed by two different artists, a significant amount of viewers have pointed out how she's a dead ringer for Noel, only with a mask on (and a smaller bust). Even the other idols, such as Roboco, are inclined to agree. With her mask removed, she additionally resembles Ayame a great deal, only lacking the pair of horns.
  • The Illegible: Her handwriting is infamous for being absolutely awful, to the point that not even her manager can make out what she writes down. When Chloe hosted a stream showing her real hands and did some writing for the chat, her viewers were quite shocked at the nearly indecipherable scribbles on the paper, which they speculated to have been a result of her weird pen grip. Writing digitally doesn't seem to help matters, either.
  • The Intern: A part of her job title, implying she joined Secret Society much later than the others. Other gen-mates also seem to treat her like a newbie.
  • Informed Attribute: Her official character bio describes her as being "calm and composed at all times", though the real Chloe is fun-loving and childish, if a bit quick to panic. In addition, Chloe is supposed to be an orca, though the only thing that is orca-like about her is apparently her hood.
  • In the Blood: Apparently her grandmother was quite the Dirty Old Woman, thinking nothing of telling adult jokes to young Chloe and explaining them when Chloe didn't understand, as well as showing her invokedage-inappropriate anime. Chloe considers this the beginning of how she became such a pervert, though she also gives credit to a friend she had later in life.
  • In the Hood: Wears a hood as well as a mask.
  • Irisless Eye Mask Of Mystery: The mask she wears shows monochromatic white eyes.
  • Irony: Despite being the "Cleaner" of holoX, cleaning is listed as one of her dislikes, in fact she's even admitted to being quite bad at it. Her family even had to hire a cleaning service to tidy her room up for her at one point in the past, just to put it into perspective. Somewhat justifiable as there are several different kinds of "cleaning", and tidying up the household just isn't the type she's good at.
  • Killer Rabbit: She is a Cute Clumsy Girl with a face universally considered endearing, but also a powerful predator and a "cleaner" for a shady organization. And considering that she hates cleaning her room, that means she is probably not the janitor.
  • Language Barrier: Invoked for laughs when Koyori messaged her to explain what she was implying by "Koyori's Furufuru"; she evaded the question by replying in English, "oh sorry I can't speak Japanese".
  • Last-Name Basis: Almost exclusively refers to herself as "Sakamata", with most of the JP girls following suit.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: She has a tendency to put her mask back on when she's summoning her inner predator, such as when she's an Imposter in Among Us.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Averted Trope. Despite allegedly being an orca, she could be mistaken for being 100% human. Lampshaded in one of the UMISEA shorts, where Gura describes her as "an orca girl who's approximately 0% orca".
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Almost immediately upon debut she established herself as one of the horniest Hololive members, which is quite an achievement at this point. She considers herself something of a Nightmare Fetishist, a trait which she blames on her grandmother showing her Cutey Honey as a kid.
  • Mood Whiplash: Her intro sounds like a dramatic Battle Chant, which is a complete opposite from the tone of her streams.
  • More Hypnotizable Than He Thinks: When her default Live2D was updated to include options to remove her hood and jacket, for whatever reason, she decided to reveal said features like she was getting hypnotized into doing so. Some commenters jokingly theorized that she was trying to score brownie points with Marine, who's really enthusiastic about doujins that generally have a similar premise. The bit made a return during her 3D debut, with Chloe lampshading the occasion with an "I've seen this before...".
  • My Nayme Is: When written in Japanese, her name is not written as "クロエ/Kuroe", as one might expect, instead being written as "クロヱ", which can be read as either "Kuroe" or "Kurowe", using the archaic and all-but-obsolete kana "ヱ/we" (which has been replaced in modern Japanese by うぇ/ウェ).
  • Not So Stoic:
    • Her profile states that she is not very emotional even when carrying out a heavy task... but her very first tweet after seemingly being silent for few hours has her apologizing for sleeping late, quickly showing that her stoicism is not her default expression (and, if her debut stream is any indication, seems to be turning into an Informed Attribute).
    • Her re-translated profile on the official Hololive website instead says she carries out her orders without so much as batting an eyelid, simply referring to her as "calm and composed at all times" as such... which she still isn't, as shown by the aformentioned profuse apologies.
  • Perpetual Poverty: Her house is really run down and she has to share with it her family. Being an intern of a (secret) company who runs in the red probably does her financial situation no wonders.
  • Phrase Catcher: Some variant of "Sakamata, take a bath" from her viewers, genmates, and senpais.
  • The Pig-Pen: Rapidly becoming a defining character attribute. Not only did she reveal that she only bathes every few days at most, Lui discovered during a collab that she not only didn't use bedsheets, she didn't even know what they were. Chloe later revealed (jokingly?) that as part of the agreement for Chloe moving into Lui's house, Lui told her that if she doesn't bathe, she will not be given any food and will not be allowed in the living room, much to Chloe's horror.
  • Please Subscribe to Our Channel: In her debut alone she, in cute Gratuitous English, begged her viewers to subscribe to her. This ended becoming a catchphrase of sorts for her.
  • Sixth Ranger: UMISEA, a collab group between Aqua, Marine, Ina'nis, and Gura (all with sea motifs), formed before her own debut (which she has a killer whale motif). However, during a later instance in Summer 2022, she was added to the group in a Holo no Graffiti episode featuring them, and has stuck since.
  • Shameful Strip: Played for laughs. For her 2022 birthday, Chloe got 'hypnotized' by her viewers into taking off some of her clothes, namely her orca hoodie and her jacket. In reality, Chloe's model had been updated to make them removable accessories, but decided on this lewd way of showcasing it.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She has over time, quickly become more open to being lewder on camera, to the point that Noel said that thanks to Chloe people were starting to call Hololive Erolive.
  • Ship Tease: She admitted to liking being spanked and lectured, but only from a samurai in specific.
  • Shrinking Violet: She seems to be perpetually blushing when not wearing her mask, suggesting it's worn as much out of shyness as it is for secrecy, though she's become quite open and talkative with her chat and fellow idols since her debut.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: Although she normally speaks with a high-pitched voice, Chloe's singing can sound surprisingly mature, perhaps even more so than Lui's. Behold! Her singing voice is implied to be what she actually sounds like, however, as her voice in the 2022 New Year group stream is remarkably deeper than how she usually speaks.
  • Sleepy Head: In her debut stream, she reveals she sleeps 12 hours a day.
  • Spoiled Brat: During her stream where she reveals she's moving in with Lui, Lui tells her she won't cook for her if she doesn't bathe. Chloe whimpers and says she'll only be able to eat twice a week. Shortly after, Lui tells her she's not allowed in the living room if she doesn't bathe. Then Chloe cries again, saying that her requests are too much.
  • Stripperiffic: Her New Year's kimono has a slit up the side nearly to her hip and an Impossibly-Low Neckline revealing rather loosely bound Sarashi (especially when her removable fur scarf is off). Nene sums it up.
  • Third-Person Person: Refers to herself as "Sakamata" more often than not.
  • Too Many Belts: Counting her collar, she has 10 worn belts and 5 belts undone to keep her coat open.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: She is incredibly fond of McDonalds burgers, mentioning that she keeps many of them stocked up in her freezer.
  • Trash of the Titans: As noted under Irony above, Chloe's room is supposedly extremely messy and cluttered with trash, so much so that she even described there being a wall of garbage in front of the actual wall itself. It got to the point that an actual cleaning service was hired to tidy it up for her. When Noel, herself infamous for her untidy room, showed everyone a picture of what her bedroom looked like without proper cleaning, Chloe remarked that even in that state it's still considerably cleaner than her own.
  • Uncatty Resemblance: Even before the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Chloe acknowledged the claims of her looking like Sprigatito largely due to their similar facial features, even doing her best imitation of Sprigatito's expression in its official art. Unsurprisingly, she picked Sprigatito as her starter in the game, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that its final evolution Meowscarada looks even more like her with its "mask", even putting on her own mask to show off the resemblance.
  • Underwater Base: Chloe's stream intro and background establish that her room is underwater, complete with sea life swimming outside the windows.
  • Vague Age: Claims to not have an age, since unlike humans orcas don't have a concept of "ageing" in the traditional sense.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Considering her Darker and Edgier outfit, the fact that she is explicitly stated to be The Fixer, and the fact that her character art features her with an intimidating frown on her face, many viewers were surprised to find that she's actually a Shrinking Violet Cute Clumsy Girl with a soft, high pitched voice (with occasional hints of a childish drawl) that was near-universally agreed upon to induce a Cuteness Proximity effect on viewers.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: The reveal of her wide red eyes beneath her mask instantly led to mass squeeing in the chat. Possibly as a result of the sheer positive reception, she now barely wears her mask.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: In-Universe. She claims that she became the deviant she is today by being exposed to more mature anime such as Cutey Honey at a young age by her paternal grandmother.
  • Woman of a Thousand Voices: The holoX member with the greatest vocal range. Chloe can easily transition from her usual shy cutesy voice to a near spot-on impersonation of Daru from Steins;Gate without a voice changer.
  • Yaoi Fangirl: She gets very excited about the topic easily, even if she tries to hide it. During one of her streams of Undertale, she meets 01 and 02 which causes her to Squee and begin talking about wanting to read a doujin on the two. She even goes off and describes in detail her taste in "punk subs" in this kind of story in a way that could be compared to Fubuki's rant about glasses.
  • Yandere: Insists that Lui is her wife and gets violent when Lui seems more interested in Mumei.

Debut date: November 30th, 2021
Birthday: June 18th
Height: 156 cm
Fanbase name: Kazama-tai note
Illustrator: Bouzumi
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: Unknown (set at 99 in Ring Fit Adventure)
Affiliation: Oozora Police
Occupation (bar idol): The Bodyguard of Secret Society holoX, Oozora Police recruit
Languages spoken: Japanese, English (learning)

  • Ascended Fangirl: Her oshi is Suisei, who Iroha adores with all her heart. When they ended up sitting down together to watch the preview of Suisei and Towa's duet for Link Your Wish 2022, Iroha was apparently moved to Tears of Joy from being able to be so close to her idol, and repeatedly bowed in appreciation afterwards. Iroha getting the chance to speak to Suisei leaves her a blubbering mess, while she has admitted to be willing to do anything for Suisei including protecting her in Mario Kart.
  • Berserk Button: Being called a ninja. Due to her sword placement, fans have been teasing her and calling her a ninja and she repeatedly insists she's a samurai. Her senpais and genmamates even notices and teases her on it even further. Suisei even notices this and gets in on the fun. It has become a Discredited Meme as she feels it's become insulting to her "mama" (artist).
  • The Big Guy: She's in charge of the group's security detail and dubbed their "insurance policy".
  • Breaking Old Trends: A small chested Hololive member that has no issues with her size and actually insists that she is small. That's a stark contrast to others like Rushia and Kanata.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: According to herself, she would need to rely on her manager should she do drinking streams as she's rather weak to alcohol and is liable to fall asleep should she imbibe.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • "Gozaru"Official translation is her trademark phrase, similar to Himura Kenshin. She even goes so far as to use it as branding, naming her Minecraft house "Gozaru House".
    • "Nande?", meaning "Why?" She uses it whenever she gets flustered, which is often.
    • "Not nin-nin! Yes jakin-jakin!" This has become a regular retort of hers as she continues to insist that she is a samurai and not a ninja.
  • Country Mouse: She's from the countryside, both in lore and in fact. Lui tells that the first thing people from the country do once they move to the city is to download an app to assist in navigating the train routes, but Iroha missed this at first; she once took a wrong train by accident and ended up in the next prefecture. As well, her snacks of choice are raw vegetables.
  • Covert Pervert: According to her genmates and herself, she's not actually seiso. She just doesn't want to display any such characteristics on stream because her parents watch her sometimes.
  • The Cutie: Between her soft voice, gentle nature and Cute Clumsy Girl tendencies, Iroha has many fans and fellow members fawning over her. Korone, in particular, has vowed to protect her regardless of the fact that she's a samurai and bodyguard. Polka describes her as having innocence that goes beyond the concept of seiso, like "she's going to ascend to godhood, become Ultimate Gozaru and save all magical girls".
Polka: Really makes you wonder, how the heck does a girl like that survive on the Internet!?
  • Distracted by the Sexy: She was completely mesmerized when she saw Noel's boobs in real life.
  • Dumb Muscle: A self-admitted "muscle brain" who uses physical strength as the solution for anything, something Noel was happy to hear.
  • Everything's Better with Samurai: Calls herself a "Mighty Samurai".
  • Fangirl:
    • Of Sakura Kinomoto and the character's seiyuu, Sakura Tange.
    • She holds Airi Suzuki as her favorite idol and, somewhat similarly to Kanata with Yui Aragaki, felt distressed when the singer announced her engagement.
  • Goroawase Number:
    • 168 (i-ro-ha). It crops up every now and then as her character names, most evidently in Minecraft.
    • Likewise, her bunker password in Minecraft ends with 536 (go-sa-ru) as a reference to her catchphrase.
  • Hates Being Called Cute: She gets very flustered and defensive whenever she is called cute.
  • Hidden Depths: One thing that was easily missed during her debut is that she can make an entire MV by herself without relying on professional artists since she's a multimedia enthusiast herself. For instance, her first solo cover, which focuses on 40meterP's "Color of Drops", is recorded, illustrated and mixed entirely by herself.
  • Hidden Elf Village: Her hometown is said to be far out into the countryside, and is in a rather secluded location. When the chat referred to it as a ninja village, Iroha unconsciously agreed with them before catching and correcting herself. She didn't deny the possibility of actual ninjas living there, however.
  • I Call It "Vera":
    • Iroha walks around with a katana on her back, which she named "Chakimaru".
    • She got a bow for her NYE's outfit that she calls Kyusuke.
  • I Don't Know Mortal Kombat: A mild case. She has experience in playing actual taiko drums, but had a bit of difficulty with Taiko no Tatsujin because there are quite a few differences between a game and the real deal. She remedied one of her biggest concerns, the sticks being much lighter than what she's familiar with, by putting weights on her wrists.
  • Informed Attribute: Zig-zagged where her physical strength is concerned.
  • Insistent Terminology:
    • She's a samurai, not a ninja note . She'll even insist as such in Engrish!
Iroha: I'm samurai, no ninja, OK? Do you understand?
    • She is not seiso. She doesn't consider herself to be seiso and is afraid that being called such may place expectations on her that she might not be able to meet.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: How La+ describes her in her debut stream, calling her a "muscle brain" who's kind and respectful. She's also the only one who doesn't name herself when the five of them are asked who's the smartest.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": She is famously a huge fan of Hoshimachi Suisei. During their first live collab together (a group collab with the two of them, Chloe, and Sora), Iroha actually got so overwhelmed sitting next to Suisei and watching a performance of her and Towa that she started tearing up and bowing to her when the song ended, to the point where Chloe had to intervene and tell her to pull herself together.
  • Last-Name Basis: Like Chloe, she tends to refer to herself by her surname "Kazama".
  • Mascot: She is treated as one by the Hoshiyomi at large. Due to Suisei's insistence on not giving them a fandom avatar to identify as, Iroha, being an Ascended Hoshiyomi and as a result the most prominent member of the community, is unanimously chosen as their representative.
  • No Sense of Direction: Reports and stories of her getting lost in real life are rather common.
  • Oxymoronic Being: Due to her poor grip strength that's foiled by her incredible stamina, Iroha's audience sometimes elicits jokes that she'd be better suited as a ninja instead of a samurai, something that Iroha takes note of, but refuses to go along with and insists on being a samurai.
  • Percussive Maintenance: Her debut introduction is played as a public apology for breaking her PC not long before the stream, caused by her using hitting it repeatedly to fix it. Thankfully, the management set a new one up just in time.
  • Petite Pride: Her illustrator went on record to say that "she isn't that big". However, Iroha doesn't mind, and even claims that having small chest is more practical. Possibly the reason she wears Sarashi in the first place.
  • Samurai: It's her character theme and job, and she also has a Samurai Ponytail to match, which is one of her favorite parts of her character design. That being said, her viewers usually describe her as a Ninja instead, much to her dismay.
  • Sarashi: Wears a bandage as a bra.
  • Self-Fanservice: She knows of the tendency of drawing her with a larger chest and/or Hidden Buxom, which leads to her insistence of her being small-busted.
  • Tanuki: Accompanied by one named Pokobee.
  • Token Human: Similarly to Amelia for Hololive EN Myth, Iroha is the only human within HoloX.
  • Token Wholesome: She is seiso by reputation and boasts having Ring Fit Adventure sessions with no lewd noises at all. That said, she insists that she's "not seiso" due to her worries of not being able to live up to such lofty expectations.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Among the vegetables she likes to snack on, her most favored are eggplants. Raw eggplants, mind you, which weirds out everyone from her friends to her doctor.
  • Tsundere: Sweet type, to Chloe. She admits to calling her "Chlo-chan" off-stream after slipping up and doing so on-stream, but says she usually calls her Sakamata in public because Chloe's always saying something perverted to her.
  • Verbal Tic: Similar to Pekora (who says "peko" at the end of most of her words) and Luna (who has Elmer Fudd Syndrome), Hologra's english subs give her "I daresay" as hers, in place of the old-fashioned speech patterns she normally uses.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Her streaming voice is an affectation that's deeper than her actual voice. She has revealed it a few times by accident and it sounds similar to Chloe's in pitch.
  • Walking the Earth: After leaving the mountain village she grew up in, she travelled the world before joining holoX.
  • Workout Fanservice: After switching to 3D for a better representation of her Ring Fit Adventure sessions, Iroha is dismayed to find that her viewers are distracted by her jiggling chest, despite her modest size.
  • The Worf Effect: Played for Laughs. In her Hologra episode, Iroha challenges several Hololive members under La+'s order. While she manages to best Ayame in a duel, she finds herself running away from other Hololive members, and eventually calls it quits, showing that for all holoX's ambition of taking over Hololive and the world, they still have a long, long way to go.
