"Survive the Night" Horror

Since the Five Nights at Freddy's Franchise began in 2014, it has seen several Games with gameplay similar to them, Some even featuring the Titular Animatronics themselves.

They have proven so popular that Scott Cawthon ''himself'' started the "Fazbear Fanverse Initiative", a program in which he would sponsor various fangame creators, encouraging them to make new games (and remake or update old ones) in exchange for being allowed to create merchandise of their games, as well as release ports on consoles and mobile devices.

Common Tropes Include:

  • A point-and-click gameplay system.
  • Having limited mobility.
  • One or several creatures (Usually Animatronics) trying to kill you.
  • Having to survive until 6 AM for around Five Nights.
  • A battery system in place, making it so you can't use a certain object (Like doors or a flashlight) too much or it will run out of power and become inoperable for the rest of the night.
  • Getting Jump Scared if you lose
However, certain games play with these tropes while adding to the formula; like having a free-roam system, having the ability to recharge certain systems, making it so that certain Jump Scares can't kill you or having gameplay where you have to complete tasks other than surviving to complete the level.

Note: This page is for games that have gameplay similar to the Five Night's at Freddy's Series, not just FNAF Fangames

Note: I need some help on how to include the fact that this is a sub-trope of Survival Horror and that FNaF is the Trope Codifier
