Abbey - The Reluctant Girl

"Um, yeah, whatever. I'm not looking for a relationship right now."
An attractive yet aloof girl who's vehemently against dating boys, especially after the premature death of her mother.
  • Ambiguously Bi: She vocally hates boys (Kavren aside, for some reason) and quickly develops a close, intimate friendship with Mattie.
  • Does Not Like Men: As a result of her mother's death.
  • Flat Character: There's not much to her other than not wanting a boyfriend and having a dead mom.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother died a few years before the story takes place, leaving her with her dad and numerous brothers.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: She suddenly flips her entire personality to go out with Kavren.
  • Satellite Love Interest: Ends up as one of these to Kavren.

Antoine - The Street Performer

"Now somebody, anybody, everybody scream!"
A friendly rapper who's one half of the two-man street-performing outfit 2 Guyz N The Parque.
  • Ambiguously Brown: He's too tan to seem fully white, but doesn't quite look black either.
  • Expy: His design was cribbed from a character from Phineas and Ferb who sang the song "S.I.M.P. (Squirrels in my Pants)," and he was given a name and backstory for this fanfic.
  • Nice Guy: Antoine is one of the most level-headed characters of the bunch.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: Antoine quits shortly after the merge once his bandmate wins the lottery and he decides he doesn't need the money.
  • Straight Man: Along with MacKenzie, he's easily the most rational person on the Epic Platypi. The two briefly bond because of this.

Cammy - The Cool Nerd

"Oh, no. He wrote a horrible story about Moonshine the Lasagna Pixie dying in a hole, replaced Twinklefog's pages with 'POPCORNPOPCORNPOPCORN', and said a rude word to Greendude!"
A shy, rather cute girl who's nonetheless unpopular at school due to her nerdy interests like video games and Total Drama.
  • Gamer Chick: She frequently references Bland-Name Products of video games and MMORPGs.
  • Jerkass: She's mean to practically everyone on her team except for Trick.
  • Karma Houdini: She almost murders Vincent in her last chapter, then goes back to her happy relationship and nobody bats an eye.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: She infamously starts out as an underdog nerd character and eventually devolves into Trick-obsessed, whiny, and outright murderous.

Chelsey - The Popular Girl

"Popularity meter, the best part of a kid's life. You'd be about a four. Skaters aren't popular, but they're really well-respected. Awkward kid with big ears, sorry, but you seem like one of those kids who long to be popular. And desperate people are not good."
A tall, tan, and beautiful girl who judges everyone based on how many "PP" (Popularity Points) they've accumulated.
  • Alpha Bitch: She was designed to be this, although she wasn't very mean and became a Lovable Alpha Bitch in the eyes of readers.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Later revealed to be half-Cuban.
  • Breakout Character: Big time. She was a relatively minor character, originally intended to go home early and mostly acting as second fiddle to Elle, but quickly became popular due to her interesting design and her love of scarves. Because of this, she was brought back to Total Drama: Superstar Showdown and became a main character.
  • Iconic Outfit: Her scarf was quickly beloved and brought on a trend of other authors giving similar scarves to their characters.
  • My Nayme Is: The spelling "Chelsey" isn't very common, but her name was intentionally spelled like this for a couple of reasons.
  • Out of Focus: She doesn't do much, but still became the most popular character of the story (see Breakout Character).
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's the tallest girl in the cast and most of the boys think she's hot.

Dolph - The Grumpy Hypocrite

"Teasing is wrong. Respect your elders. And remember, never, never ever, never ever EVER pee in your bed."
A grouchy Brit who runs an advice column for troubled teens yet constantly contradicts his own advice.
  • Big Bad: In a relatively jarring case, he becomes this out of nowhere.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Starts out as this, but it's eventually phased out.
  • Evil Brit: He's the main antagonist of the season and is a classic stereotype of a Brit.
  • Hypocrite: He constantly contradicts the "advice" he spews out to others.
  • Jerkass: This is why he's voted out, as he's a dick to everyone.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Goes from a minor early boot to a Reality Warper supervillain toward the end of the game.
  • Overly Long Name: His full name is Dolphin Anderson Alfred Garrison Harrison Larrison Barrison Rainbows III.
  • Reality Warper: He repeatedly displays supernatural powers, from riding a Nyan Cat to shapeshifting to creating elaborate Star Wars-based illusions.

Donny - The Calm Guy

"♪ Gotta get pants! Go get your pants! Button, fly! ♪"
A hulking yet soft-spoken fellow who gets along with everyone and gives out myriad 'musical lessons.'

Elle - The Seductress

"SNOOKIIII!"
A short girl who played up a femme-fatale persona in order to get cast; she's actually rather loud, irreverent, and obsessed with Nebraska Shore.
  • Alpha Bitch: Similarly to Chelsey, she was designed to be this but ended up as little more than comic relief.
  • Flat Character: She makes it to the end but does almost nothing except obsess over Nebraska Shore and Snooki.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Although she's labeled The Seductress, she spends none of her time seducing and all of her time watching Nebraska Shore. Chris calls her out on this at one point.
  • The Vamp: She's supposed to be this and played it up in order to get cast.

Gustavo - The Fiery Italian Guy

"COME ON, YOU NARD. LET'S ARM WRESTLE, OR YOU'S GON' WAKE UP WIT' A BROKEN CROTCH."
A heavily-pierced, fiery-haired Italian immigrant with anger issues.

Kavren - The Weirdo

"Bloop pork."
A lanky, awkward nerdling who will say and do anything, no matter how depraved or embarrassing, to get a laugh.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Like many other male characters here, Kavren's always hitting on girls and never succeeding.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: He's bizarre, to say the least. Downplayed in that this is mostly a way for him to get attention.
  • Kiddie Kid: He's 16 but acts extremely immature (drooling over girls, wearing a banana suit, talking in gibberish, enjoying books and video games intended for small children, etc).
  • Nerds Are Pervs: He's nerdy, creepy, obsesses over the girls on his team, and never stops.
  • Perfectly Cromulent Word: He frequently uses these, such as "bloop pork," in his everyday speech.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Kavren was intended to be this, but his reception was... mixed.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: A particularly heinous example, as Kavren and his "jokes" took up more time in each chapter than multiple other characters combined.

Kim - The Strategist

"No, man, please! I frickin' hate Tasia!"
A tall, intimidating European woman who means business.
  • The Baroness: Her character design and biography imply this, even if it's not particularly apparent in the story itself.
  • Expy: She's based on an Adventure Time character just like Donny, only even more obscure.
  • Nonindicative Name: She has only a handful of lines and almost none of them have to do with strategy.
  • Rambunctious Italian: She's also Italian, just like Gustavo, and equally fiery. The two naturally end up fighting (and later bonding).
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Kim is possibly the most minor character in the whole story, being booted pretty early with very little spotlight.

Lizza - The Caffeine Nut

"HAIIIIIIII!!! I'mLizzaandI'msixteenyearsoldandpeoplesayI'mreallyshortbutyoushouldseemymomshe'slikeafootshorterthanme! Andspeakingofmymomshetoldmenottohavetoomuchcaffeineyesterday. ButIdidandnowshe'sreallymadatmebecauseIgetreallyhyperwheneverIhavetoomuch CAFFEEEINE!!"
A motor-mouthed ball of energy who's always sucking down coffee and cans of Mountain Fizz.
  • Flat Character: Justified since she's the first boot, but there's really nothing to Lizza except "loves caffeine and is annoying."
  • Genki Girl: About as much of one as you can get.
  • Motor Mouth: She talks in fast, extremely lengthy tangents.
  • Must Have Caffeine: She drinks copious amounts of soda and coffee and never sleeps.

Mackenzie - The Sweet Girl

"Why are the other boys here freaks?"
A cheery, down-to-earth blonde who's secretly recovering from a broken heart.
  • The Generic Girl: Outside of her sad backstory, Mackenzie is the least remarkable and most level-headed character in the story.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Mackenzie is genuinely kind and sweet and has light blonde hair.
  • Nice Girl: She's friendly to almost everyone, which is what gets her voted out (Chelsey claims she's a "total threat").
  • Ship Tease: She gets a bit with Antoine in the sixth chapter, although it's quickly dropped.
  • Straight Man: Usually provides this role for the Epic Platypi.

Mattie - The Camp Counselor

"I know CPR, I can help that little girl in the trash can!"
A hip young woman who works at a summer camp and always attracts unwanted attention from her young male campers.
  • Ambiguously Gay: She has short hair and a tomboyish outfit, doesn't seem interested in any of the male characters, and quickly develops a close, intimate friendship with Abbey.
  • Cool Shades: She wears a pair of lime green sunglasses.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Very subtle since she's so flat of a character, but Mattie does get in a few quips. She was meant to be snarkier in the original draft of the story, a la Helga.
  • The Generic Girl: She's even less developed than Mackenzie, bordering on a Living Prop.

Northworth - The Douche

"You idiots just lost? Again? Now, I have no idea who to vote out and it's my friggin' birthday. Thanks a lot, you tards."
An extremely short and crass jock who dishes out rapid-fire insults to cover up his own insecurities.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Noticeably bigger and bushier than anyone else's in the story.
  • Casanova Wannabe: He "competes" with Toad and Kavren for the women on his team and is always rejected.
  • Harmless Villain: Between his dopey, nonthreatening appearance, ridiculous insults, and general incompetence, he's impossible to take seriously.
  • Hate Sink: Northworth was intended to be one, being based on a rude jock from the author's middle school, however he quickly devolved into a caricature and grew a (potentially ironic) fanbase.
  • Jerkass: Northworth is such a dick that he's unanimously voted out on his birthday.
  • The Napoleon: He's the same height as Toad, who's only 12, and is a massive asshole.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He’s cartoonishly sexist (believing boys shouldn't cook) and calls his team ‘tards.’
  • Top-Heavy Guy: He has a long, seemingly muscular torso and tiny, stubby legs.
  • Unusual Euphemism: He often throws bizarre insults at his teammates, many of which were taken from The Spiderwick Chronicles' Hogsqueal.

Ori - The Gemini

"Great job, you slimy idiot. I'm safe. You guys learned a lesson tonight, never vote for Ori Gerard!"
An intense, usually polite boy with violent mood swings and a well-meaning but woefully inept father.

PJ - The Silent Genius

"..."
A large, taciturn bookworm who rarely says anything beyond "...".

Tasia - The Woozy Girl

"Take a chill pill, duuuude. I mean, partying is fuuuun, but not all daaaay..."
An extremely laid-back Greek girl who's just happy to be there, probably because she's on an unspecified illicit substance.
  • Drunk on Milk: She's somehow able to get drunk on water.
  • Flat Character: She appears in every chapter and does nothing in any of them. And then... wins?
  • G-Rated Stoner: It's never confirmed what she's on, if anything, but her whole shtick is basically stoner humor.
  • Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: Her win is a complete fluke, decided by Dolph of all people, matching the general Mind Screw inanity of the story.

Toad - The Perverted Wimp

"I'm not a little kid. I'm Toad. I'm a contestant."
A 12-year-old who was allowed on the show by mistake. He's prepubescent but quite vulgar and girl-obsessed.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: He's obnoxious and immature even for a 12-year-old.
  • Dirty Kid: He acts disgusting to all the girls and even rips Chelsey's shirt off at one point.
  • Older Than They Look: He's already younger than everyone else there, being 12, but he's so short Chris mistakes him for a toddler.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Again, like Kavren, he was meant to be this but it went terribly wrong.

Trick - The Skater Dude

"I'm gonna go take a leak. You guys have issues."
A hunky skater guy with a secret dorky side.

Vincent - The Wisecracker

"Wow, there sure are some lookers here, eh, mate?"
A quick-witted Australian lad with a vibrant purple mohawk.
