With the same screen name as his actual name, Default is one of the main characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. He is the author of several of the stranger modules.
  • Addled Addict: He is a heavy user of the Fantastic Drug psycholy. He wrote most of Zeroworld based on the visions he experienced. Overuse of the drug eventually causes him to suffer permanent side effects.
  • Author Avatar: Of the author Felix. The reason why he knows details about strangers that he shouldn't be able to know is because of his connection to the author.
  • Dragon Rider: When he ends up in the Fade he gets to ride on Feedback Messiah, one of the thirteen gosdragons.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: He is usually drawn with very noticeable eye bags, fitting with his depressive personality.
  • Extreme Doormat: He is extremely submissive to Bracey. He is even seen wearing a collar on more than one occasion.
  • I Am X, Son of Y: Played with. If you look in the Lume's page, you'll find a series of secondary lume heads called head formotypes. Each one resembles a member of the main cast, and uses their last names too. Turns out Default's dad (or granddad) is none other than James Killjoy.
  • Morality Chain: He’s the only person who keeps Bracey grounded in reality.
  • Occult Blue Eyes: Subverted. His blue eyes are unrelated to his abilities as a psychic.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Default's real name is unknown. Since Default is transgender, it may be his preferred name. The lume's page states that his last name is Killjoy.
  • Psychic Powers: He is a Blue Hell-aligned psychic. This gives him the ability to see strangers, but also gives him other abilities that sensitives don't have.
  • Scars Are Ugly: He is insecure about his surgical scars.
  • Swiss-Army Tears: His psychic abilities give him psychoactive tears.

    Bracey Wray

Also known under the screen name 'cloverhigh', Bracey is one of the main characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. Default's boyfriend. Sells Fantastic Drugs extracted from strangers. Creator of the Hollow Crowns module.
  • Author Avatar: He is another of Felix's avatar characters, although he is more of a representation of the ideal romantic partner the author wishes they could have than a direct representation of the author.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Zig-zagged. More of a morally ambiguous bisexual person.
  • Driven to Suicide: After Default is taken away from him and his reputation is ruined thanks to an altercation at a Bicycle Day party, he attempts suicide by overdosing on psycholy. It fails, but because of just how much psycholy he pumped into himself, his perception of reality is permanently altered.
  • Mad Scientist: After surviving his suicide attempt and realizing that he is a fictional character, he starts working on a device to allow him and Default to escape to another dimension. This involves decapitating thirteen strangers and putting crowns made of random junk on their heads. During this time he also assists Olivia and Argona with their stranger research in exchange for a place to live and work in.
  • Noticing the Fourth Wall: This happens to him following him waking up from a nearly fatal psycholy overdose.
  • The Paralyzer: As a dissembler, he can make strangers inert by touching them.
  • Unknown Rival: He really hates Adrian for taking care of Default after their breakup. Adrian is completely oblivious to this.

(I don't get why Default is so hung up on this guy...)

  • Used to Be More Social: He becomes far more withdrawn after his suicide attempt. While working for Olivia he communicates by text but goes out of his way to avoid seeing her face to face when delivering materials to her.

    Argona Cox

Also known under the screen name 'TrapperArg' as well as the pseudonym 'Mz. Saqui', Argona is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Zig-zagged. She is one of the villains of the story and her sexuality is listed as panromanitic asexual. She is also Olivia's girlfriend.
  • Karma Houdini: She never faces legal consequences for the murders she committed even after she is discovered.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: And you better take warning with her.
  • Serial Killer: She performs very unethical experiments using strangers on human test subjects, resulting in a lot of deaths. She mainly targets people that she thinks deserve it, but that can include people who she just thinks are annoying.

    Chuck Rockwell

Also known under the screen name 'wrestler1987', Chuck is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. He is an important figure in North Mural's sensitive community who gives people advice on staying safe from strangers and organizes hunts to destroy dangerous strangers.
  • Gentle Giant: He's the tallest of the main cast at 6'6".
  • Heroes Love Dogs: His cast page states that he likes dogs, which are also his favorite animal.
  • Spiders Are Scary: His cast page states that he's afraid of spiders.
  • Wrestler of Beasts: He participates in underground stranger fighting rings from time to time.

Also known under the screen name 'Xanadu_Xori', Xoridromella is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline.
  • Berserk Button: Xoridromella does NOT like the souvredervish being on the site without her permission.
  • Disney Owns This Trope: She vandalizes the strangers website because she claims certain strangers are her intellectual property.
  • Drama Queen: As displayed by her personality and according to Argona, she does not shut up about the most petty drama.
  • Embarrassing Last Name: Her birth name is Cynthia Bunderberger.
  • Knuckle Tattoos: She has the four card suites tattooed on the knuckles of both her hands.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: She has tattoos all over her arms and torso and wears revealing clothing during her performances to show them off. She is very narcissistic and a major Drama Queen.
  • The Napoleon: She is the shortest of the main cast at 5'1". Her cast page also states that her passion for the spotlight and demands for control make her a wrecking ball in the sensitive community.

Also known under the screen name 'GR33N+019', Christine is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. They were one of the creators of the game Zeroworld.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Their preferred pronouns are they/them.
  • Introverted Cat Person: This trope applies to both them and their love of strangers. They even keep some as pets.
  • Naïve Animal Lover: They are convinced that strangers are sentient beings with feelings and really hate people who exploit and abuse them. They die as a result of a simdroni, a stranger that looks harmless but erodes your social skills to a fatal degree, spawning in their apartment.

    Angel "Virgo" Yuri

Also known under the screen name 'KillerHippie', Virgo is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. He is the writer of the Dead Cities module, after Fifi's final bomb flung him through time.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: When the Motherbomb explodes, Virgo is caught in the blast. As a result, his body and thoughtform are both sent into the distant future-past of Dead Cities, the future beyond VHZ.
  • Heel Realization: He helped set up the Motherbomb before realizing its purpose and attempts to disarm it. He fails.
  • Time Dilation: A victim of this at the end of Space Madness.

    Meaty Mouse

Also known under the screen name 'ItsThatMouse', Meaty is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. She is a rich music celebrity with some dark secrets.
  • Ambiguously Bi / Ambiguously Gay: Her sexuality is listed as unknown.
  • Big Eater: She has an appetite for both strangers and endangered animals.
  • Covered with Scars: Or at least her actual head is according to the Lume's page. She appears to have a massive burn scar across her face.
  • Devoured by the Horde: She dies from Virgo pushing her into the pit where she kept her predatory strangers.
  • Embarrassing Last Name: Her last name is Door.
  • Exotic Entree: She has an obsession with consuming endangered species.
  • For the Evulz: She is described as being similar to a Disney villain. She is aware of morality, but gets her thrills from seeing how bad she can get away with being.
  • Mocky Mouse: An evil mouse-themed celebrity.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Her cast page doesn't say what her real name is, but the lume's page states that her last name is Door.
  • Red Right Hand: She is the only villain in the story so far who has an obvious physical mark of evil, which is fitting for being the only one who does things For the Evulz.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: As revealed on the lume's page.

    Adrian Zhan

Also known under the screen name 'a_to_z', Adrian is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline. He is bonded to a gosdragon named Feedback Messiah. He takes care of Default after his breakup with Bracey.
  • Anti-Magic: Because of the fact he is a blank, he cannot see strangers, and his presence actually disperses them.
  • Facial Markings: He has black bar tattoos under his eyes.

  • Satellite Character: He hardly has any interaction with any other character in the story besides Default and possibly Fifi. Most of the other characters either don't know him or only see him as a minor acquaintance.

Also known under the screen name 'imvaleks', Valeks is one of the characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline.
  • Alien Blood: Valeks has grey-colored blood.
  • Author Avatar: He is also a representation of the author Felix along with Default and Bracey.
  • Black Eyes of Crazy: He has black sclera and white irises. Combined with the mouthless rabbit mask he wears this gives him a sinister appearance, but he actually is one of the nicer and more mentally stable characters.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He returns along with a megameom to rescue Bracey and Default from the villains at the end of Space Madness.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Aside from his boundless wonderment towards strangers, his optimistic outlook and good-natured disposition help to balance out his more moody peers.
  • Deus ex Machina: His return at the end of Space Madness arguably classifies as this.
  • Human Alien: The author has confirmed that Valeks is not a human being, but is an entity called a Novo. He looks human, except for his strange black and white eyes and grey blood.
  • Intrepid Fictioneer: He has the ability to travel between layers of the Goodbye Strangers narrative, jumping in and out of fictional worlds.

Also known under the screen name 'SOLang', Sandra is one of the more minor characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: She ends up being ripped apart by a horde of frenzied Ymiridrine alongside Chaiden Fossi.
  • Curiosity Killed the Cast: Aside from there being something about her that Argona just couldn't stand, she was getting far too nosy for her own good. So she manages to get Sandra into the same trap as Chaiden.
  • Devoured by the Horde: How she dies.
  • Naïve Newcomer: Her entry on the side cast page states that she's a newcomer to the sensitive scene in North Mural.

    Chaiden Fossi

Also known under the screen name 'ApexHunter1', Chaiden is one of the more minor characters of the 'Space Madness' part of the Goodbye Strangers timeline.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: He ends up being ripped apart by a horde of frenzied Ymiridrine alongside Sandra Lang.
  • Devoured by the Horde: How he dies.
  • Karma Houdini: An undisclosed dissembler, he preys upon women in the sensitive community by either utilizing the effects of strangers or by placing himself in positions to "save" his victims from danger. As a result, he gets away with doing... you know, unspeakable things completely scot-free. At least until Argona lures him into a trap.
  • Karmic Death: Though his proud "evolutionary traditionalist" and "biological skepticism" ideals already made him a worthy target in Argona's eyes, it is an offhand inappropriate comment towards her that seals his fate.
  • The Paralyzer: As a dissembler, he can make strangers inert by touching them. This ability didn't save him when he was attacked by a massive number of Ymiridrine.

    Feedback Messiah 
FM is a gosdragon, a creature from the Nurenverse who became bonded to Adrian Zhan. After Adrian suffers a seizure and is hospitalized, Default falls asleep next to Adrian and wakes up in The Fade, a dimension between the Nurenverse and the setting of Space Madness where he meets FM and the two become travelling buddies until Default escapes from the Fade.
  • Catlike Dragons: A simplified, catlike version of him appears in Matatown, most of the pages of which are about the catlike Matatrons.
  • Draconic Abomination: He is a dragon-like monster from another dimension resembling a post-apocalyptic earth who appears to have both organic and inorganic parts. While he is friendly to humans, the sight of him is pretty terrifying.
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: He consumes the gosdragon Emer Zenti after killing him to save Default. He also consumes Spurious/Victorious after killing her.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: His shape is recognizably a dragon but he is quite strange. He doesn't appear to have eyes and has blue fur instead of scales, and several of his body parts appear to be made of scraps of metal.
  • The Quiet One: He usually doesn't talk, according to his Matatown page.

    James Killjoy 
An astronaut who permanently left earth after suffering a mental breakdown. He only appears in the beginning and ending of the story.
