Goetia is an underground criminal organization that spans across Yomi and Earth. Their ranks are comprised of both Demons and Yokai: all of which have been ostracized from society in some form or another. The organization is shrouded in secrecy, as all of its members blend into society as ordinary citizens or even humans.

     General
Tropes related to the organization itself.

  • Evil Poacher: Literally with the Poachers in Goetia, tasked with killing or kidnapping whoever is contracted out.
  • Friend in the Black Market: Serves as this to many Shitidama or others trapped in Limbo, trading them goods they normally wouldn't be able to get otherwise.
  • Gratuitous Greek: Goetia, in itself, is a Greek word meaning "magic". The organization uses this for the majority of its ranks; including the Koruphe ("crown"), which is reserved for the governing body and the Basileus ("king"), which is used for their leader.
  • Master Forger: Many of the high-ranking Grafters in Goetia fall under this trope.
  • Murder, Inc.: The contrast to the Jikininki Ten and Deepcut. While they only accept contracts on government-issued threats, Goetia will gladly kill whomever they need to if the price is right.
  • Professional Killer: The Poachers of Goetia, regarded as the hitmen of the organization.
  • Rage Against the Legal System: Several members, especially those who have been exiled, joined Goetia for this reason.
  • Recruiting the Criminal: They only recruit criminals and outcasts into their ranks, deposing of those who prove not to be worthy.
  • Superhuman Trafficking: Known for trafficking living goods, ranging from demons to humans and even their collected souls.
  • Super Mob Boss: The Basileus, and to an effect, everyone else in Goetia. With how feared its leader is though, they likely have powers that put the others to shame.
  • The Consigliere: The figure only known as "Uncle Velvet".
  • The Don: The mysterious figure known only as the Basileus.
  • The Mob Boss Is Scarier: Everyone fears the Basileus, as they have an almost omnipotent presence throughout the realms while also rendering their true identity secret.
  • The Most Wanted: Regarded as this by the Empire of Yomi, with several of their identified members dotting the ranks of the empire's top criminals.
  • The Syndicate: Functions as the largest criminal organization in the supernatural world along with the human world, although the mortals don't know that.

     "The Basileus"
The mysterious and unidentified leader of Goetia. No one other than their top circle, the Koruphe, know their identity.

  • No One Sees the Boss: No images exist of the boss and only those in the Koruphe have seen them personally and know their true name.
  • The Dreaded: Everyone fears this guy, even the hardened killers of the Jikininki Ten. People would rather kill themselves than challenge this guy.
  • The Ghost: Often spoken of by their alias/title, "Basileus". Despite this, they have yet to make an appearance in the story.
  • The Most Wanted: The most wanted criminal in the three realms.

     Uncle Velvet
The nickname of Goetia's consigliere and overseer of its captains, with his real name lost to those outside the Koruphe. He is generally feared by everyone in the organization due to his power.

  • The Consigliere: Serves as this to the Basileus.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Uncle Velvet. Doesn't sound like that scary of a nickname, until you find out the backstory behind it. Apparently he got the moniker after somehow turning a person inside-out.
  • The Omnipresent: Has eyes and ears everywhere, leading to the terror of his renowned presence.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Every contract made by Goetia is kept on file by him and his men. If you try to cheat Goetia or the system, you're good as dead.

     Shuten
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shutenav.png
A Goetia Poacher that enjoys hunting humans. His Tamashi Genkai is Gradient, allowing him to transform himself and any other three-dimensional object into a 2D version.

  • Ambiguous Gender: Shuten is extremely androgynous and openly states his gender doesn't matter to anyone. Word of God actually states Shuten is a Hermaphrodite and identifies as bi-gender.
  • Arch-Enemy: Serves as one to Tomoe Nagata.
  • Arc Villain: Of the First Contract Arc.
  • Braids of Action: His purple hair is always tied up in one.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: How he describes killing Junko to Tomoe and the others.
  • Create Your Own Hero: By killing Junko, he ultimately underestimated the effects it would have on Tomoe.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: For the majority of their first encounter, Mura and the others believe Shuten is female. They aren't half-wrong.
  • Excessive Evil Eyeshadow: The red and purple eyeshadow he wears, as evidenced in his profile picture here.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: Shuten proves to be pretty tough at first but manageable as an opponent. Then he reveals he was simply handicapping himself for an added challenge.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: He's a master of trick shots, using his bare feet to knock and fire his bow when attacking Tomoe. When he's actually serious, Shuten never misses his mark.
  • Mage Marksman: His Thrall Furu-Utsubo gives him the ability to magically conjure arrows into his bow when he nocks it; removing the need to manually retrieve them from a quiver or carry arrows at all.
  • Older Than They Look: Like most demons, he's at least a millennia old. However he physically resembles a child in appearance.
  • Paper People: Invoked. Shuten can turn other people, objects or even himself into a two-dimensional version. While in this state, the target is bound to a surface such as a wall or paper.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite being the smallest opponent faced by the Bloodstrider so far, he's by far deadlier than some others such as Behemoth.
  • Professional Killer: He takes his job very seriously, killing any target for the right price.
  • Stripperiffic: Shuten dresses in very revealing clothing, even wearing a stylish Fundoshi.
  • Tricked-Out Gloves: It's more of a sleeve buckled to his chest, but it grants him the ability to repel and parry spells.
  • Villain Has a Point: Shuten tells Mura that a talented assassin is someone you've never heard of and never see coming. He chastises the Jikininki for their showboating and glorification, calling them out as nothing more than celebrity warriors.

     Kuchisake

A Goetia Poacher that carries a mysterious past. Her Tamashi Genkai is Marionette, allowing her to split her body into segments and remotely control them.

  • Cool Mask: Always is seen wearing a black surgical mask with a stylized fanged smile motif.
  • Detachment Combat: How she uses her Tamashi Genkai to fight.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her attire consists of a Japanese high-school uniform with her tattoo on the upper thigh. Along with this, there's also the scene where she undresses down to her panties so she can change disguises.
  • Joshikousei: Wears one as part of her human disguise.

     Forneus
A Grafter in charge of the red-light distract in Dōtonbori, Japan.

  • Bad Guy Bar: Runs a cabaret frequented by humans, demons and yokai. If you're a human however, get ready to have your soul sucked out.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite her illicit actions, it's implied she only does it so she can raise the money to see her son again. This glimmer of decency convinces Kishin to give her a fast and painless death instead of a cruel one.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Forneus has human males seduced and then killed for their souls. However, it's implied that she only does this to criminals like the small-time yakuza or other lowlives that won't be missed.
  • Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: Smokes cigarettes religiously, not stopping even when she's being questioned by Kishin.
  • Inn of No Return: Her cabaret. If you visit, don't plan on ever leaving again.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She tricks human males into visiting her cabaret, gets them drunk and horny and finally steals their souls.
  • Off with Her Head!: How Kishin kills her, chopping off her head using his katana; along with everything else behind her.
  • Out with a Bang: Forneus has her lackeys kill humans this way before sucking out their souls.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Implied by Kishin's findings that most of the men that try to leave are forced into this by the succubi's magic.
  • Succubi and Incubi: Unusually, one who isn't Hot as Hell. Considering she's a succubus, you'd think she'd be quite easy on the eyes, but she's quite clearly past her prime.
  • Vampires Own Night Clubs: Technically, demon succubi but still the same concept. Forneus and her ladies of the night suck out souls instead of blood.

     Hakanohi & Baku

A pair of Shitidama owned by Shuten. His loyal servants, they guard their master's camp from any unwanted trespassers.

  • Ax-Crazy: On the verge of defeat, Hakanohi loses the last of his sanity and goes completely berserk.
  • Body Horror: Hakanohi's body is covered in holes of varying sizes, making anyone with trypophobia recoil in disgust.
  • Death of a Thousand Cuts: Hakanohi's death, being stabbed several times in the head by Mura before slicing it in half.
  • Fat and Skinny: With Hakanohi being the abnormally thin one and Baku the abnormally bloated one.
  • Forced Sleep: Baku's special ability, coming from a mist that emits from his mouth.
  • Frog Men: Baku is described as being one of these, resembling a morbidly obese frog with humanoid characteristics.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: Hakanohi invokes this, flailing around wildly with his elongated limbs to attack.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Both fit this trope, with Hakanohi being a towering humanoid limb monster and Baku as a huge frog-man creature.
  • No-Sell: When Mura tries to use a Gleam spell on Hakanohi, he discovers the Shitidama has complete immunity to fire.
  • Screaming Warrior: Hakanohi constantly wails and screams while attacking, striking terror into his opponents.
  • Superpowered Mooks: The role they serve to Shuten.
  • Was Once a Man: Due to them being Shitidama, they were once normal men before becoming the deformed monstrosities they are now.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Hakanohi's ability allows him to completely engulf himself in flames, turning him into a walking matchstick.
