Edit: Hold on, with that many inbounds, we might have to redirect or disambiguate this. Maybe we could redirect it to The Oldest Profession or Show Business (both being indexes it's on); leaning toward the latter. Still, I'm in favor of deprecating it either way.

As for tropeworthiness, it kinda feels like it could be a trope if some other aspect was added. Like similar to Compensated Dating someone having a secret income by selling photos/videos of themselves.

I think I've seen that too, built around online prostitution just being less regulated on the whole. Secret Sex Worker maybe doesn't need to be cam/only fans exclusive, though, IIRC Euphoria is a recent work that did it the old fashioned way.

I did feel that there could be a trope here, but at present it's a straight-up Chair, and isn't exactly saturated with examples either.
Disambiguating would make sense, I think, though I would also suggest adding Attention Whore to the list, as it has been confused with this trope, due to being a possible literal interpretation.

one idea that might make this tropeworthy is "Secret Cam Girl", i.e. a character is a cam girl/boy in private and keeps that fact from their friends and families out of shame/knowing it'd be disapproved of. I've seen versions of this idea with prostitution and escort services, but the fact that 1) you don't have to engage in sex with a stranger if you don't want to, 2) camming doesn't even require the person to expose themselves or their identity, 3) all you need is a camera which most phones and laptops/tablets have nowawadays seems to make it somewhat distinct. I think Kat from Euphoria would be an example.
That said, since there are few examples like that i'm fine with disambig-ing or redirecting and yarding the above concept.

If the trope were about fictional depictions of this sort of thing and the attitude fiction has towards it (I would have expected a term with the word "whore" in it to be pejorative), it might be worthy of staying on the wiki. As it stands it's practically written like a Useful Notes, except it would need to be substantially rewritten to be a Useful Note (for one thing, I don't think we should be using "Cam Whore" as the neutral, descriptive name for it - see previous parenthetical - and I think I see "Cam Girl" as more common), to the point of possibly not being worth it.
Just stoic wisdom.
Agree that if something gets salvaged of this, to go with the name Cam Girl.

I'm reasonably convinced that this page is an X-rated Chair. The page is almost entirely descriptive, and contains absolutely no commentary on characterisation or narrative related issues. Much in the same way that we don't have the page "Strippers Exist", we shouldn't need "Cam Girls Exist".
The wick check did find that the vast majority of examples (36/50) were correct usage of the trope... But this isn’t the problem, as the definition is such that the borderline-ZCE "this character is a cam girl" is valid.
Oh, and the page was also created by now-permabanned troper JIKTV. I don't happen to know what they were banned for but the last page I sent to TRS had an author who had been booted for persistently creating low quality trope pages.
