Trudy

Full Name: Trudy Lin Shu Feng

First Appearance: Ol Capable

The Protagonist. A 19-year-old college student living in Canada.

• Big Eater: There are more than a few comics about how much she and her friends enjoy food.
• Distinguishing Mark: Has a scar on her cheek, which she got from her mum. The incident of how she got the scar was revealed in 'Baggage Check: Part 1'.
• The Ditz: Once ate a nut, despite her peanut allergy, purely because it was given to her by a squriel.
• Hopeless with Tech: Adverted example. Trudy is shown to be reasonable okay with technology, but she owns a nearly decade-old smartphone and sees no reason to upgrade, despite the fact it can't handle newer emojis, and Sandra's request for her to get a new phone after learning her phone is "sometimes" in black and white mode.
• Parental Abandonment: Somewhat downplayed. Neither of Trudy's parents physically appeared in the comic until "Emily". She is distant from her mum, due to the scar incident (as explained in 'Baggage Check' Part 1 and 2), but she does have a pleasant phone conversation with her dad. She also expresses that while she finds her relationship with her mother "hard", she's doesn't hate her. However, since Emily returning into Trudy's life during her arc, their relationship has improved, although they are still separated.
• Secret-Keeper: Due to her old hobby of mixing random things together in her's school's lab when she was 14 and 'Making a discovery', she was slapped with a gag order by the government and a pharmaceutical company pays her $1,000 a month for her silence. It's how she gets by without a job.

Sandra

Full Name: Sandra Tang

First Appearance: Day of Cogitation

Trudy's best friend since their school days.

• A-Cup Angst: She's far from flat, but she has openly expressed being envious of Trudy in this department.
• Bespectacled Cutie: Wore glasses in her school days, and sometimes as a young adult, usually when she's looking at a laptop or tablet.
• Can't Hold Her Liquor: When going out with Trudy and Seth for drinks, she falls asleep after two cocktails. Trudy laters reveals she only had one cocktail and one ginger ale.
• Childhood Friends: She has been friends with Trudy since their school days. Even her introduction was a flashback to their time at school.

Seth

Full Name: Seth Herrington

First Appearance: The View

Trudy's Neighbour, and eventually, her boyfriend.

• Early-Bird Cameo: The squirrel that gives Trudy a nut in "sqrl" is the first time we see Seth in squirrel form, though we don't find that out until said sqrl returns in "The Visitor".
• Forced Transformation: Due to a curse after badmouthing the spice, Seth turns into a squirrel whenever he eats ginger. The time it takes for him to turn back into a human is seemingly random.
• Naked First Impression: Slightly subverted. Trudy first sees Seth across from her apartment into his while he is in a state of undress. When she (accidentally) confesses that she saw him naked, he claims he had boxers on.

Aunt Elaine

First Appearance: The Next Day, at Aunt Elane's

Sandra's Aunt, who also acts as a guardian for Trudy.

• Cool and Unusual Punishment: During Halloween, she's more than happy to give decent candy to the "good kids". Bad Kids, however, get Hawthorn Flakes. Trudy remarks how that is going to mess some kids up.
• Nephewism: Seems to be Sandra's Parental Figure, despite being an aunt. She's also Trudy's parental figure while she's in Canada.
• Shipper on Deck: Very keen on Trudy and Seth's relationship.

Alix

Full Name: Alix Cooper

First Appearance: The Night of the Date

A Waitress and college student.

• Ascended Extra: The first retail worker to not be shown as a silhouette, due to her naming herself, and as such, giving her an identity. Also officially becomes part of the cast when She and Trudy become friends.
• Token Minority: A sort-of meta example. While she isn't the only minority in the cast, Trudy and the comic's creator are both Chinese and has mentioned in Alix's introduction comic that she is the first person of colour that he's created in an original work.

Craig

First Appearance: Craig, Kiosk Manager

The Manager of the Pancake Restaurant, Griddle by Griddle, and Sandra's boss and/or Supervisor.

• Benevolent Boss: Very friendly to Sandra.
• Flat Character: As of Early 2022, we haven't seen him as anything but Sandra's good-natured boss, so there isn't much to say about him... yet.

Emily

Full Name: Emily Shu Feng

First Appearance: Emily

Trudy's Distant Mother.

• Mysterious Parent: Until "Long Distance", we didn't know much about her, apart from her being responsible for giving Trudy a scar, and Trudy was estranged from her as a result.
• Parental Neglect: Downplayed. During an argument with her spouse, she threw a book in the dark which accidentally knocked out Trudy and gave her a scar (which could have almost taken out her eye), then left her daughter and husband shortly afterwards. She does communicate with Trudy via Text from time to time and did call to make sure if she would alright meeting up with her before travelling to Canada to see her, so she is trying to make amends.

Whitney

First Appearance: Whit Cream

Another of Trudy's college friends. They are usually paired up in Food Science Classes

• Kindhearted Cat Lover: Owns an American Shorthair called Spinster.
