For more information on some of these characters, go here, here, and here.

Ultear Milkovich

A member of Grimoire Heart and the first antagonist Natsu and co. fight against. She brainwashed Jellal and infiltrated the Magic Council in order to get Etherion fired and have it serve as a distraction while her guild gets one of the keys to unseal Zeref, however, thanks to Natsu, Etherion is never fired, her plot is exposed, and she’s arrested.

Brain/Zero/Daz Love

The master of the Oración Seis. Like in canon, he plans to use Nirvana to create a new world order, though this incarnation is doing it for some different reasons.

  • Utopia Justifies the Means: He wants to use Nirvana because he believes that the ‘‘current’’ world is evil, and by using Nirvana, he’ll be able to bring back the true light.

The King of Edolas, and Mystogan's father. He is obsessed with bestowing an infinite supply of magic on his kingdom, and tries to do so by stealing magic from Earth-land through interdimensional portals that transform wizards into lacrima.

Hades

The master of Grimoire Heart and the second master of Fairy Tail, Purehito. He means to obtain the One Magic in order to create a utopia for mages.

  • No One Could Survive That!: Hades gets a giant hole in his body and gets caught in an explosion, and yet he still doesn’t die. Lampshaded by Gray.
Gray: "A scratch? There's a giant hole in his body!"
  • Secret Weapon: Formula 1, twelve magic ribbons that inflict nociception on his enemies.
  • Wham Line:
Hades: "Yes... the One Magic, the source of all magic... stems from Endless!"

The Master of Tartaros

A mysterious being who first showed up in chapter ten to give Grimoire Heart one of the keys to release Zeref. The Master is the one who made Purehito evil, and also sent Acnologia to Tenrou Island to destroy Fairy Tail. While the Master hasn’t really done anything, the Master will certainly be an adversary. The Master also seems to have a connection to Natsu and Zeref.

  • Dare to Be Badass: To Hades
The Master of Tartaros: "So what? So what if you're going to lose? So what if they're going to defeat you? After everything you've strived for, are you really going to just let it all shatter without a single fight? If so, then I made a large misjudgement, Purehito."
  • Dark Is Evil
  • The Faceless
  • Decorations: Zhe has wings on hir head.]]
  • Identical Stranger: Physically, zhe seems to look very similar to Mavis.

Shagorra Vermillion

The true antagonist of the story, who also happens to be Mavis’ father and Natsu and Zeref’s stepfather. For the past 400 years, Shagorra has been using a magic known as Soul Bondage to send his soul into other people’s bodies to eventually take them over in an attempt to eventually destroy the world.

  • Abusive Dad: [[Spoiler:Mavis, Natsu, and Zeref all grew to become his enemies as a result of his actions. It’s also been implied that he raped Mavis.]]
  • Chekhov's Gunman: First mentioned randomly in chapter 45, shown to have a connection to Natsu in chapter 63, and chapter 74 states that he's the villain of the story.
