Alan's Stick Figures

    Kickstarter Stick Figure

Kickstarter Stick Figure

Debut: Animator vs. Animation IV - Kickstarter Video!!

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kick_starter_video_stick_figure.png
A non-canon stick figure that appeared on the video announcing the kickstarter campaign for Animator vs. Animation IV.
  • Canon Foreigner: Never appeared in the franchise proper, just a non-canon kickstarter video.
  • Flat Character: Given that he's a one-off, non-canon gag, we get zero things about this dude.
  • Suicidal Cosmic Temper Tantrum: Destroys Alan's computer mere moments after coming to life, killing itself in the process.

    Hangman

Hangman

Debut: Hangman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hangman20.jpg
A stick figure depicted on a gallows, drawn by the Animator when he played Hangman with the Stick Gang.
  • Dead Guy on Display: Inverted. Despite being "hanged" on the gallows, he's shown to be alive, waving at the main cast instead of being depicted as a corpse.
  • Hanging Around: Pretty much a given for the stick figure. Downplayed however, since the gallows is depicted a lot more abstract, making it look like the beam is holding Hangman rather than a rope that would held by that beam.
  • The Man They Couldn't Hang: Hangman was originally supposed to be choking since the stick figure is portrayed to be a hanged man, but that was changed as it was deemed too gruesome.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Unlike Alan's other drawn stick figures (who all have thicker outlines with distinguishing colors), Hangman's outline is much more thinner in addition to the small but notable gap on top of his hollow head.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It's unclear what happened to him after his only appearance from the short, as he is nowhere to be found on the desktop where he was created.

The Outernet

    Hooded Stick Figure

Hooded Stick Figure

Debut: The King

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230827_192811_youtube.jpg
A hooded pale blue stick figure who gives King Orange a Command Block in an alleyway.
  • Friend in the Black Market: Implied. Although there's not much of a connection between them and King Orange, he seems to trust them enough to pay for the Command Block without fear of getting caught. Furthermore, they both apparently did their transaction anonymously, suggesting that items like the Command Block are considered illegal commodities.
  • In the Hood: They wear a hood, presumably to conceal their identity. Though it could also be because it was raining when they both exchanged.
  • Satellite Character: All of this character's actions revolves around King Orange's actions: acquiring a Command Block to build his staff.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: They only appear in one scene, but they were the one that gave King Orange the Command Block, which allowed him to finish constructing his staff and build a portal into the Nether.
  • Spear Carrier: They only appear in a single scene in an alleyway just to give King Orange the Command Block.

    The Bystander

The Bystander

Debut: Wanted

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230825_234623_youtube.jpg
A tan stick figure whose life was saved by the Chosen One.
  • Near-Death Experience: They almost get crushed by the debris from a skyscraper, caused by the Mercenaries' projectiles. The Chosen One saves them by using laser vision to destroy the debris.
  • Satellite Character: They essentially serve as the Chosen One's Pet the Dog moment, showing that he's still a good person despite his villainous past.
  • Spear Carrier: They only ever appear in a single scene walking by with a briefcase.

    Corn Dog Guy

Corn Dog Guy

Debut: Corn Dog Guy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/corn_dog_guy_an_actual_short_49.jpg
A chestnut-colored stick figure who sells corn dogs. His cart is destroyed by the Mercenaries, but he manages to improvise.
  • Fruit Cart: Corn dog cart in this case, but his stand was hit by the Mercenaries' glitch-bombs when they tried to hit the Chosen One. However, unlike other examples, his cart is technically still in one piece aside from being pixelated.
  • Job Title: The name of the short this character first appeared refers to his job: a guy selling corndogs.
  • Unfazed Everyman: After seeing his corn dog stand pixilated by the Mercenaries chasing the Chosen One, he eventually shrugs it off and even raises the price of his corn dogs due to the change.

Alternate Stick Figures

Clones

    victim's clones

victim's clones

Debut: Animator vs. Animation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/victimsclones_webp.png
The real victim is at the very bottom.
Clones of victim that he made during his fight with the Animator, and share his fate.
  • all lowercase letters: Like the real victim.
  • Badass Normal: Just as powerless as their original counterpart, but capable of almost beating the Animator together and putting up a good fight against the Chosen One.
  • Copied the Morals, Too: A negative example. They keep the original victim's sadism and bitterness, as the Chosen One finds out.
  • Dropped After the Pilot: Killed at the end of the very first episode and don't return. A second set of clones makes their return 17 years later, however.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: Like the real deal, the second set is gray instead of black.
  • Expendable Clone: A more meta example: While victim is acknowledged every now and then (especially by the fanbase), the clones have been completely forgotten. Eventually becomes an in-universe example: The Chosen One, who has an Ape Shall Not Kill Ape policy, has no issues burning them alive, and the real victim himself is not troubled by this.
  • Killed Off for Real: Erased at the end of their debut appearance. While the real victim makes his return 17 years later, the original set of clones stays dead and is replaced by new ones.
  • Kill It with Fire: How the Chosen One deals with the second set of clones.
  • Me's a Crowd: Four clones of the same guy.

    Purple's Clones

Purple's Clones

Debut: Animation vs. League of Legends

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230717_022725_youtube.jpg
Left to right: clone4 (Nasus), clone1 (Brand), clone3 (Udyr), clone5 (Varus), and clone2 (Lissandra)
Clones of Purple who have the abilities of the League of Legends champions and are named "clone1", "clone2", "clone3", "clone4", and "clone5".
  • all lowercase letters: All of the clones' usernames are in lowercase letters as seen in the game's screen.
  • An Ice Person: clone2 has the powers of Lissandra's ice magic.
  • Barrier Warrior: clone3 has Udyr's Iron Mantle ability which protects him from Red's attacks.
  • Combat Tentacles: clone5 possesses Varus' ability to summon purple tendrils which is used to restrain Blue.
  • Flaming Hair: clone1 has flames burning on his head as if it was hair.
  • Me's a Crowd: Five clones made by Purple.
  • Playing with Fire: clone1 is able to manipulate fire like his champion equivalent, Brand.
  • Rain of Arrows: clone5 can summon a volley of arrows which all rain down against Blue.
  • Unwinnable by Design: The Second Coming attempts to defeat clone4 and finds him completely immune to attacks similar to all the other clones. He soon discovers the real Purple hacking the game's code, making his clones invulnerable, and shreds the files of the clones to save his friends.
  • Weapon Specialization: Both clone4 and clone5 are the only members of their group of clones that wields Nasus' axe and Varus' bow respectively.
  • You Are Number 6: They all have the same usernames with the exception of their designated numbers next to their names.

    The Second Coming's Clones

The Second Coming's Clones

Debut: Animation vs. League of Legends

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_second_coming_clones.png
Left to right: Draven, Pantheon, Teemo, Diana, & Leona
Clones of the Second Coming made at the very end of vs. League of Legends, possessing abilities of several champions.
  • Me's a Crowd: Five clones of the Second Coming wielding individual powers.
  • Spear Carrier: Only appear at the end of Animation vs. League of Legends. Funnily enough, one of them does carry a spear.

Imaginary

    Nature-Helping Blue

Nature-Helping Blue

Debut: Blue's New Superpower

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2024_04_13_at_16_33_13_blues_new_superpower_thumbnailwebp_obraz_webp_1280720_pikseli_skala_99.png
An imaginary version of Blue that appeared in the Second Coming's dreams as a superhero who helps nature.
  • Adaptational Badass: The real Blue is a Badass Normal, while this one has a superpower, even if it's not really fight-useful.
  • All Just a Dream: He doesn't exist, and is simply the Second Coming's dream (and implicitly everyone else's).
  • Cast from Money: He can plant trees and disappear trash using money.
  • Green Thumb: His power is being able to transform money into trees, and use it to make piles of trash disappear.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Sure, it might not be that useful in a fight, but Blue can make all the trash across the world disappear with his superpower!

Toy Dark Lord and Toy King Orange

Toy Dark Lord and Toy King Orange

Debut: King Orange vs. The Dark Lord

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_orange_vs_the_dark_lord_characterimage.jpg
Versions of the Dark Lord and King Orange that decided to fight to the death. In reality, they are toys owned by Yellow and Green.
  • Angst? What Angst?: In-Universe: The Stick Gang is apparently so un-traumatized by their encounters that they make a playfight of their two biggest villains.
  • Death by Adaptation: The real King Orange is temporarily killed and ultimately revived, while the Dark Lord has an Uncertain Doom. These two die very explicitly.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: King Orange canonically (briefly) died via jumping into his own black hole, while the Dark Lord was (presumably) decimated by the Second Coming's laser eyes. They are evaporated from existence by the Seraphim Pig.
  • Hypothetical Fight Debate: Came into existence as a result of one between Yellow and Green. In a more meta sense, their one and only appearance came into existence because of King Orange VS The Dark Lord being the most popular (and hotly debated) "who would win" debate in the AvA fandom.
  • Killed Off for Real: They are both decimated by the Seraphim Pig.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: They decided to fight each other for no reason, which was later revealed to be because of Yellow and Green roleplaying/controlling them.
  • No Body Left Behind: They turn into dust.
  • Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: The biggest villain of the main series vs. the biggest villain of the spin-off series.

Other

    Future Second Coming

Future Second Coming

Debut: Animation vs. Physics

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/future_tsc.jpg
The Second Coming from the future, who's been watching over his present/past self's adventure through the universe. And his many, many past iterations.

Miscellaneous

    Gray Stick Figures

Gray Stick Figures

Debut: Blue's New Superpower

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230620_043748_youtube.jpg
Generic gray stick figures who appear in the Second Coming's dreams representing the public.

    Backrooms Stick Figure

Backrooms Stick Figure

Debut: Backrooms

A stick figure who resides within The Backrooms.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Most backrooms entities would hunt down whoever they see, but this stick figure waves at the Second Coming and helps him how to supposedly leave the backrooms.

Spoiler Characters (Spoilers Unmarked!)

    victim

victim

Debut: Animator vs. Animation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/victim2_7.png
The first creation of the Animator. He was marked as "victim" just to be toyed with by his creator. He seemingly gets deleted at the end of his first appearance after a brief fight against the Animator... or was he?
For more information on this character, see here.

    Dark Blue

Dark Blue

Debut: Note Block Universe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/purple_s_father_removebg_preview.png
Purple's father who tried to train his son into an expert fighter, and then left when Purple didn't meet his expectations.
  • Abusive Parents: He kept forcing Purple to fight him, and when Purple was unable to keep up, he abandoned him.
  • Follow in My Footsteps: He really wanted a son to be a great fighter like him, but Purple just couldn't cut it.
  • Hate Sink: Compared to every other antagonist in the series, there's nothing even remotely impressive about Dark Blue, and we're clearly meant to despise this guy for his treatment of Purple. It says a lot when the Omnicidal Maniac is treated as the better father.
  • Parental Abandonment: When Purple was a little stick boy, he would relentlessly train him to fight. Purple just couldn't meet his dad's expectations, making Dark Blue abandon the family.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Purple's father is a dark blue stick figure while Purple's mother was pink.
  • Satellite Family Member:: Exists only to explain Purple's backstory and serve as the opposite of King Orange so the two could become a Family of Choice.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His abandonment from his family as well as his ex-wife's death is what shapes Purple into doing everything he did to get his approval; from becoming king of his own village in Minecraft, abandoning his friends to steal the Dragon Egg, hacking a League of Legends server to try and win, and stealing the Game Icon to help King Orange.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's impossible to say anything about him without spoiling Purple's backstory, and the very fact stick figures can reproduce and have children.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: We never learn what happened to him, though it's implied he got away with it all
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: He raised his hand on his wife in anger, but ultimately couldn't bring himself to actually hit her.

    Pink

Pink

Debut: Note Block Universe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/transparentnotepink.png
Pink depicted in music notes
Purple's loving mother who had died not too long after her ex-husband, Dark Blue, left the family when she refused to let him "train" Purple.
  • Death by Despair: Heavily implied, as in Purple's flashback she keels over soon after Dark Blue leaves her.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: Between Pink and Dark Blue, the one treating Purple better was the one that died.
  • Due to the Dead: Purple lays a flower on her grave in "Cherry Blossoms".
  • Flower Motifs: Associated with cherry blossoms, which gets passed down to Purple.
  • Good Parents: She's clearly unhappy with Dark Blue forcing Purple to train and be a good fighter.
  • Morality Chain: Pink was the person who managed to have Purple stay a good person instead of giving in to his insecurities about his dad abandoning him. Once she was out of the picture... well, Purple had nothing left but insecurities and a missing father.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Purple's mother is a pink stick figure while Purple's father was blue.
  • Pink Is Feminine: The only female stick figure is also the only pink one.
  • Posthumous Character: Has long been dead before her son's debut in the AVM Shorts.
  • Satellite Family Member: Exists only to explain Purple's backstory, and doesn't live long enough for us to learn about else about her.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's possible to say anything about her without spoiling Purple's backstory.

    Gold

Gold

Debut: The King

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gold_png_webp.png
King Orange's son who died when the Minecraft simulation he was inside of crashed.
  • Blood Knight: Loved provoking his dad into playfights.
  • Cheerful Child: Was shown to be excited about a lot of things.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Was glitched out of existence in a process that was long and visibly painful, him slowly losing pieces of himself. Mere seconds before the simulation he was in crashes, we can briefly see just what finished him off: The Minecraft Sun exploding, causing Gold to erupt into pieces.
  • Deader than Dead: In case you thought Gold could have survived glitching out of existence, the server he was in was crashed and terminated. Suffice to say, he is not coming back.
  • Death of a Child: Clearly quite young, and is killed on-screen in a terrifying and tragic moment.
  • Kill the Cutie: One of the cutest and most cheerful characters in the series also suffers from the most horrifying one.
  • Missing Mom: His mom seems to absent and his father, King Orange, was the only parent around as there are no photos of her. His mom is briefly discussed during one of the reaction videos, but all we know about her is that she was a neon yellow color.
  • Morality Chain: The second Gold died, King Orange turned into a bitter man obsessed with avenging his death.
  • Posthumous Character: He died months before the events of Season 3.
  • Satellite Character: Exists only to explain King Orange's motives, with some parallels to Purple so the two could become a Family of Choice.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His death causes King Orange to embark on an obsessive vendetta to destroy the world of Minecraft.
  • Walking Spoiler: His mere existence spoils King Orange's backstory.
  • What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: Is instantly attracted to the Minecraft emulator and doesn't consider the possible dangers. It does not end well.

    The Developers

The Developers

Debut: The King

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/developers.jpg
A group of stick figures who created a simulation of Minecraft which Gold entered. Unfortunately, it created an incident that caused the child's death.
  • Failsafe Failure: You would think something with the potential to crash as horribly as the Minecraft emulator did would have some sort of emergency kill switch, or at least some way to open the doors to get the hapless player out.
  • It Won't Turn Off: Once things start going wrong with the emulator, the stick figures running it try to flip the lever back to off only for it to jam. Further attempts end up breaking it.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: It's not said outright, but the body language of the developers running the emulator after it crashes horribly, taking King Orange's son with it, definitely imply this.
  • Read the Fine Print: Downplayed. While the waiver that King Orange signs to allow his son to enter the Minecraft emulator has no fine print or ridiculous clauses, the general gist of it should have raised alarm bells had King Orange taken the time to read it (which he clearly didn't, unless stick figures have an insanely fast reading speed and he was dumb enough to ignore it).
  • Small Role, Big Impact: They created a Minecraft simulation booth for new patrons to play with, causing Gold to enter a Minecraft server. Unfortunately, the entire simulation went out of control and the developers failed to fix it, causing Gold to die when the server crashed. This is what causes King Orange to despise the game and plan to destroy the entire world of Minecraft, kickstarting the events of season 3.
