Cement Shoes

  • In Yakuza 4, Taiga Saejima discovers his Essence of Super Heavy Weapons Revelation when he witnesses two yakuza attempting to dispose a victim in a cement filled barrel over the pier. They try to pick up the barrel, but it's so heavy, sending one yakuza into the water while the barrel falls onto the other. Just when the victim thinks he's safe, he rolls into a moor, knocking him out.

Branch imagining Poppy saying goodbye forever to him if he gives her a gift that's too big foreshadows a hidden depth of his past, which is revealed in the next film.

John Dory, Bruce and Clay have this reaction when they realize their selfish actions and their treatment of Branch have done nothing...

I'd like to add another trope to

Resident Evil: The Marhawa Desire

  • PrivilegeMakesYouEvil: The students of Marhawa Academy are widely known for their disdainful behavior towards outsiders and individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds. They treated Nanan with disrespect before she passed away and turned on Bindi when she confronted the corrupt headmistress. Who, while dressed for the part, was in no way any saintess advocate. Being a Consummate Liar that wasn't above sabotaging transport modes and engaging in Fiery Cover Up's to maintain public face.

And here are more revisions to be added

Resident Evil: The Marhawa Desire Gracia Delenikas

  • Abomination Accusation Attack: Gracia, while dying, has the gall to throw the monster slight at a mutated Bindi after shooting her square in the face, despite everything going wrong being her fault in the first place.
  • Accidental Murder: When Bindi and Nanan tried to escape Marhawa Academy, Gracia, and her henchmen tracked them down and tried to recapture them. This accidentally led to Nanan falling to her death. Gracia secretly blamed herself for the incident.
  • Entitled Bitch: Although she pressganged people into solving her mistakes, said persons being her former flame and his nephew whom Gracia had the telemetry to put in harm's way of a virus outbreak. She kept right on demanding more and more from them to cover the academy's disgrace, even going so far as to sabotage Doug's ride to force his compliance.

Trolls film franchise:

  • Morality Chain: Branch seems to consider his brothers and Poppy his chain that keeps himself from falling into deep despair, as he held out hope that his siblings would come back one day and Poppy is the first Troll to not only befriend him, but has been nothing but nice to him.

Trolls Band Together:

  • Family of Choice:
    • Poppy consider Bridget a sister that she never had until she meet Viva, but still treats her like a sibling despite having a sister by blood.
    • Branch's three brothers came to consider Poppy part of the family and came to care for her like a sister. Although Clay has already treated her like family, his other brothers came to consider Viva a sister as well.
  • Mirror Character:
    • Poppy is similar to Branch's brothers in personality:
      • She and John Dory at first failed to listen to those around them, which cost them to make hasty actions and decisions without considering how others would feel. However, they have well-meaning intentions to help those they care about. Fortunately, they both learned their lesson and stride to be better listeners to those around them, especially to their friends and family.
      • She and Spruce/Bruce are similar when it comes to caring for those who are younger then them, as she cares for the younger Trolls, especially Tiny Diamond, while he is a father with thirteen kids.
      • She and Clay are both fun, but the differences is that Poppy embrace her fun side while Clay doesn't want to be consider fun.
      • She and Floyd are the heart that keeps those around them from falling into deep despair, especially their families.
  • Morality Chain: Floyd seems to be the chain that keeps his and Branch's three older brothers from losing sight of being family, as John Dory, Bruce and Clay drop everything to go save Floyd no matter what.

From ContrastingSequelMainCharacter.Video Games:

  • Metro:
    • The protagonists from each games differ heavily:
      • The first three games Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light and Metro Exodus has Artyom Chyornyj, who is a resident of the Exhibition Station. In 2033 he starts out as a From Zero to Hero and an Action Survivor, as he takes up Hunter's mission to reach Polis and warn Miller of the Dark Ones, to which he becomes a hero after defeating the Dark Ones, thus becoming part of the Spartan Order in the next game Last Light. And he becomes a hero again for the Metro's residents after stopping the Red Line Army from destroying D6 and saving it, making him a legendary name across the Moscow Metro.
      • Exodus' Interquel DLC Metro Exodus: The Two Colonels introduces Vyacheslav "Slava" Khlebnikov, who is different to Artyom in many ways. Whereas Artyom is a young man who is a heroic figure in the Moscow Metro and becomes the new leader of the Order after Miller's death, Slava is an older man than Artyom and is a heroic martyr who failed to complete his goal of escaping with Kirill from the dead city to Lake Baikal after effectively expiring due to his anti-rad being shattered by the Blind Ones, leading him to die from extreme radiation. His goal only succeeded because of Miller and Artyom.
      • Metro Exodus' Sam's Story, the second DLC of Exodus and its sequel, has Samuel "Sam" Taylor who is already a Spartan Ranger, is middle-aged (who is in his late 40s to early 50s) and is heavyset unlike the mid-20s, lean-looking Artyom. He's contrasted by the Russian-born Artyom, as Sam is an American who is stranded in Russia after World War III. Unlike Artyom whose first appearance in the series makes him an inexperienced protagonist and has to go through a lot of heroism to get Miller's trust, Sam is an Experienced Protagonist from the start, due to his background as a U.S. Army Corporal, and has known Miller for over 20 years due to his duty as his bodyguard. Also Sam heavily contrasts to Artyom in terms of their goals: Artyom plans to save the Moscow Metro from the Invisible Watchers' control while Sam's goal is about reuniting with his father in America. Sam also contrasts to Slava, being that unlike the latter who worked with Tolya as a member of OSKOM before the riots eventually caused Tolya himself to betray his former ally, the former is extremely loyal to Miller and his death leads him to pursue his own personal journey to find his own father. Whereas Slava's fate at the end of his story was canon, Sam's canon fate at the end of his story is unknown and ambiguous.
      • Serdar, who serves as the main protagonist of the upcoming game Metro Awakening, contrasts to Artyom, Slava and Sam. Whereas Artyom, Slava and Sam are Action Heroes, Serdar is a Combat Medic, who is a doctor. And unlike the three who are members of a governmental faction (i.e. Spartan Rangers and OSKOM), Serdar is a Moscow Metro survivor with no affiliation to any major Metro faction.
    • The three protagonists of Last Light's Faction Pack all differ from one to the other.
      • Hans, the protagonist of the Heavy Squad level, is a heavy weapons expert of the Reich who participates at a huge battle against a massive Red Line onslaught. The Red Line Sniper, the protagonist of the Sniper Team level, contrasts to Hans. Unlike Hans who prefers More Dakka and is equipped with heavy weapons like the Gatling, the Red Line Sniper prefers stealthnote  and is equipped with a silenced Clapper sniper rifle.
      • The Ranger Trainee of the Kshatriya level is the polar opposite to two men, being that unlike the two characters above who are Experienced Protagonists, the trainee is a fresh-faced recruit for the Spartan Order and is not a Villain Protagonist.
    • The protagonist of Last Light's Tower Pack heavily contrasts to the previous three protagonists of the Faction Pack. Unlike Hans, the Red Line Sniper and the Ranger Trainee, the remnant soldier is a Retired Badass who works for the Central Metro Command and is permanently injured from his leg. Instead, he works as a volunteer for the virtual combat simulator that Chook and Geek created as part of an experiment. He's also a commissioned officer, with the rank of a Captain, unlike the three.
    • Colonel Sviatoslav Konstantinovich "Miller" Mel'nikov, the Big Good of the first three games, is the leader of Spartan Rangers and is willing to help Artyom in stopping the Dark Ones after the Polis Council refused his offer. His Fatal Flaw is being patriotic and quixotic, a trait that is more amplified in Exodus, and is deeply loyal to his own country that leads to a plethora of problems including Anna's lung sickness and the whole crew nearly being devoured by the Cannibals. Metro Exodus: Sam's Story introduces the Big Good Captain Eduard Baranov, who served as the former leader of Vladivostok and the captain of the U.S.S. Mayflower. Unlike Miller who is quixotic and idealistic to the point of obsessive patriotism while disregarding obvious flaws like the crew's disastrous visit to the Yamantau bunker after mistaking the cannibals as "government officials", Baranov is considerably realistic who does not hesitate pointing out glaring flaws including Sam's main goal of using the submarine as a ticket way home to the United States due to Tom's real goal of wanting to use its nuclear weapons. Whereas Miller has several of his Rangers on his side, Baranov is a lone wolf working on his own after Klim murdered them.

Any fixes?

One Piece

  • Chapter 1054: The Red-Haired Pirates are currently near Wano, and they couldn't be prouder of Luffy for achieving the Emperor Pirate ranking, just like their captain, Shanks. Shanks himself is incredibly proud of Luffy's accomplishment.

One Piece: Egghead Arc

  • Villain No Longer Idle: For a considerable time, the Gorosei, also known as the Five Elders, have been ruling as The Omniscient Council of Vagueness. Many assumed they were merely a group of old bureaucrats with no combat skills, especially since their fellow aristocrats, the World Nobles, were generally weak in actual combat. However, St. Jaygarcia Saturn, one of the Five Elders, proves everyone wrong when he arrives on Egghead Island and single-handedly takes on the Straw Hat crew. Unlike anything shown in the manga before, he demonstrates extraordinary abilities that bordered on black magic. And this was even before Saturn summoned the other Elders.

One Piece: New World Era

  • Chapter 1109: Luffy showcases his abilities as an Emperor in Gear 5, delivering a remarkable performance against Kizaru and Saturn. He renders Kizaru motionless once again and enters into an "Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object" impasse with Saturn. In this duel, Luffy acts as the unstoppable force while Saturn becomes the immovable object. Saturn's Deadly Gaze can obliterate heads with a mere glance or cause significant damage to the Straw hats. However, when Luffy becomes the target of the attack, he shrugs it off effortlessly, as if receiving an invisible punch to the head. Luffy quickly overpowers Saturn and Admiral Kizaru, causing the admiral-class fighter to cough up blood from his mere grip strength. Although Kizaru falls every time Luffy lands a direct hit on him, Saturn's bizarre Healing Factor ensures he can recover from any damage sustained almost indefinitely. Regardless of how powerful Luffy's blow is, Saturn always counterattacks without relenting. The urgency to put a stop to Vegapunk's worldwide broadcast after his Dead Man's Switch is activated forces Saturn to call upon the other Elders to help him break the impasse, as he is unable to overcome Luffy alone.

Sensual Phrase

  • Stock Shoujo Heroine: Aine is a high school junior at the age of 17. She's a sweet, shy, and considerate girl who is passionate about writing sensual song lyrics. Her dream is to become a successful songwriter, and she's on her way to submit her best lyrics to a contest when she meets a stranger. The stranger causes her to drop her precious lyrics, almost getting hit by a passing car. Fortunately, fate intervenes, and the driver of the car turns out to be Sakuya Ookochi, the lead singer of the hard rock band Λucifer. From that moment on, Aine becomes the exclusive songwriter of Λucifer and embarks on a whirlwind romance with Sakuya. Despite all this, Aine remains a high school student, juggling her personal growth, love, and musical pursuits until she graduates at the end of the story.

My Mental Choices Are... YMMV:

  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Excluding Kanade, Chocolate and Ouka, all characters is completely unlikable and mean-spirited. Either they're apathetic towards Kanade's problems or they're downright cruel, jealoise, hypocrite and unfair to him. And it's not helped by the fact that he never managed to break his curse. In general despite the comedian scenes, the plot is rather depressing to watch for a lot of fans.
  • Quirky Work: It's a story about a high school boy who is forced to make weird and kinda perverted choices in his life like a dating simulator and who has as his sidekick a sclerotic girl who falls on his head, acts like a dog and is obsessed with chocolate. Yeah, It Makes Sense in Context.
  • The Woobie: Kanade constantly has to embarrass himself in front of everyone and gets beaten up and in every episode. He doesn't deserve half of all this freaking crap.

For Complete Monster.

  • Star of Death: Tarkin takes control of the Republic after Palpatine’s death and uses newly completed Death Star to destroy Kamino and blame it on the Separatists. He has two Jedi Masters allied with him seemingly take control of the Death Star for Republic and use it to threaten Separatists into surrender or they will destroy their capital world of Raxus after demonstarting its power on Raxus’s moon. Tarkin plans to use Death Star to keep galaxy in the line. When the Jedi Council organises cover mission to destroy Death Star, Tarkin declarates all of the Jedi traitors and orders Clones to execute Order 66, bringing Jedi Order to near extinction.

  • Development Gag: The Noise's Lap 2 theme — "World Wide Noise" — features elements of "Pesto Anchovy", which was a remix of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement" that was intended to be the original escape theme for The Noise before it was replaced by "Distasteful Anchovy" in later builds due to Creator Backlash.

Strangled by the Red String: Artyom and Anna engage in three interactions before engaging in Sex for Solace during their third meeting, assuming this game marks their first meeting. There is no indication that Artyom likes her in the first place, even calling her his "pain in the ass partner" in his journal, as she has been teasing him during their first mission together, with her teasing bordering on bullying. In the next game, the pair has been depicted as a loving couple, with Anna fulfilling the role of a supportive spouse, a complete opposite of the "pain in the ass partner" Artyom initially has to put up with.
