  • 101 Dalmatians: The Series: In "Beauty Pageant Pandemonium", an irate Ivy's face turns red when her chances at winning the contest (due to her aunt Cruella's not-so-full-proof plan) turn bust.
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender:
    • A flashback shows a young Mai turning aside during a Luminescent Blush for a second when a young Zuko walks by— an impressive show of emotion considering what she's usually like.
    • As the DVD Commentary points out, there is a rather odd-looking scene when Suki is seen with this despite wearing rather thick facial makeup. (Sokka pulls off this same feat.)
    • In addition, in the season 3 episode "Sokka's Master", Toph tells Sokka that Aang and Katara missed him, but she didn't mind so much. She turns away to say this and blushes, to the camera's sight.
    • Aang does this pretty much any time Katara is touching him, or gets into a formal dress, or puts on her swimwear... (he's biologically 12 and she's 14, so it's pretty innocent).
    • Zuko also does this when Toph glomps him in the finale, complete with speechlessness and his eye getting all wide. It's rather adorable.
  • Adventure Time used this on Finn several times, most notably when he's around Princess Bubblegum.
  • Happens to Cooper in the Ben 10: Ultimate Alien episode "Absolute Power Part II" after Gwen kisses him for reversing Kevin's transformation.
  • In two episodes of ChalkZone, this happens to Rudy twice. Once in "My Big Fat Chalk Wedding" after Snap rescues Rudy from getting married to a chalk drawing of Bobbie Sue (a little girl with a crush on him in the real world) by pretending he was going to marry him, and then again in "The Crush" when the girl he develops a crush on, Trina, pretends to like him back to humor him.
  • About every character of Code Lyoko sports a Luminescent Blush at one time or another.
    • Though the funky-looking exhaustion blushes of Aelita and Yumi in "I'd Rather Not Talk About It" take the cake. They look more like bruises than blushes.
  • Every time a character blushes in Danny Phantom, their cheeks are a ridiculous shade of red.
  • Dialed up to eleven on Daria when Daria had a full-body rash that necessitated a hospital visit. Turns out the "rash" was a stress reaction to her being around Trent.
  • In Dave the Barbarian episode "Slay What," Fang turns red from head to toe, accompanied with a tea kettle whistle when a fiend keeps poking her pet monkey.
  • This is common in Walt Disney's full-length features, Classic Disney Shorts, and Disney television series:
    • In The Small One, the Auctioneer gets red in the face with anger after the titular donkey throws him off his back and is made into a spectacle who looks bad.
  • This happens frequently to the title character of Doug when he's around his crush, Patti. Happens to Skeeter as well.
  • In Ed, Edd n Eddy many characters turn a variety of colors.
    • Sarah in episode "Knock Knock Who's Ed" turns beet-red when Ed taunts her over her painting.
    • Sarah's face cycles through shades of red, purple and blue when she pulls a hold-her-breath bit in "Sir-Ed-A-Lot".
    • Marie Kanker in the "Valentine's Day Special" turns bright red when she sees Edd exchanging love letters with her sister May.
  • In the Fireman Sam episode "Lost Cat", Sam blushes when Bella praises him for putting out a chip pan fire in her kitchen.
  • Goofy shows this in the 1952 short "Teachers Are People." In one scene, he overhears some kids discussing something to each other. Then his face blushes red as he proceeds to tear away a chart that shows birds, bees, and flowers.
  • The Grump and his dragon in the Here Comes the Grump episode, "The Lemonade Sea". When their submarine periscope is corked, they're forced to turn back and resurface from the sea. Due to the lack of oxygen, the Grump is blue-faced and the dragon is blue all over his body, as they try to regain their breaths.
    • The Grump in "The Wily Wheelies". He gets red-faced with anger after falling in and emerging from a manhole, as another one of his plans failed before he's cooled off by a rolling hydrant.
    • Soapy Smith in ''The Country Mouse and the City Mouse Adventures episode, "Klondike Mice". His face is in its normal color one minute, then a light shade of red the next, after being tricked by Danny into a booby trap he'd set up for him and this angers him.
  • In The Jetsons episode, "Astronomical I.Q.", an angry Spacely's face turns red as he yells George's surname as usual and gets aggravated by a mishap caused by the now highly intelligent Astro.
  • A bad habit of Korra in The Legend of Korra when she's attracted to someone. In season one, this usually involves Mako, while in season four, it's perhaps the most blatant sign of her crush on Asami.
  • Let's Go Luna!:
    • Honey blushes several times in "Honey In Paris".
    • Leo blushes from embarrassment in "Leo Moves It".
  • Jenny, the titular robot from My Life as a Teenage Robot, blushes bright blue.
  • The Loud House:
    • In the episode "Linc or Swim", Lisa uses a formula that eliminates urine in the pool; when all the water evaporates, the rest of Lincoln's sisters (minus Lily) blush in embarrassment.
    • In "Study Muffin", all of Lincoln's sisters (minus Lily, presumably since she's a baby) do this when they see Hugh. Hugh himself does this when Lisa lifts up his shirt.
  • The Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series used this trope continually:
    • In "Stage Door Cartoon", after chasing Bugs Bunny on stage and while being in front of an audience, Elmer Fudd's pants fall down. Realizing this after turning around and noticing them, he pulls them back up and turns beet red. In the same short, his face turns various colors (red, green and purple) from stage fright, when he is put on the spot to act in a Shakespearean outfit.
    • In "Long-Haired Hare", Giovanni Jones' face changes into various colors while singing a long, high note towards the end of the short.
    • In "Gone Batty", a baseball player's whole body turns pink with modesty after the impact and vibration from swinging a bat against a very hard object causes his uniform to slip off.
    • In "Baby Buggy Bunny", while disguised as an actual baby, Baby-Face Finster holds his breath till he's literally blue in the face when Bugs won't let him have his way.
    • In "Cinderella Meets Fella", the Fairy Godmother gets red-faced a couple times after making a couple mistakes with her magic wand.
    • In "Case Of The Missing Hare", an irate Ala Bahma turns red-faced for Bugs' constant meddling with his magic act and he engages in a sword/fencing fight.
    • The egg man in "An Egg Scramble". When Miss Prissy is in his store tossing eggs out of the cartons and cracking them on the floor as she searches for the egg she laid, the egg man is not only red-faced with rage, but literally blows his top at this before Miss Prissy gets kicked out.
    • In "Wabbit Twouble" Elmer Fudd's whole head turns bright red from a Bugs Bunny-style smooch.
    • The short "Rabbit of Seville": happens to Elmer Fudd when Bugs Bunny (in drag) snips away the support for his suspenders and he pulls them back up.
  • In the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, this is a common aspect of a character feeling embarrassed. Flattery or sheepishness gives us a Blush Sticker instead.
    • In the episode "Lesson Zero", the Mayor of Ponyville blushes likewise after she and half the town are broken free from chasing and fighting over an old doll (on which an enchantment of attraction had been cast.)
    • Spike sports a particularly bright one of these in "Dragon Quest" when his pony friends start teasing him about his cute appearance.
  • Ōban Star-Racers: This happens between Molly and Jordan, when they feel something emotional or funny with each other.
  • Amity from The Owl House has a habit of turning bright pink when she's angry, embarrassed, or interacting with her crush/eventual girlfriend Luz. It's revealed in late season 2 that it's a genetic trait she inherited from her father.
  • Happens every damn time in the Peanuts series whenever a character is embarrassed, shy, or in love. This mainly happens to Linus and Charlie Brown.
  • In the Pepper Ann episode "Impractical Jokes" the eponymous character blushes red when she finds a note taped to her back, which says she loves her crush, Craig.
    • In the episode "One Angry Woman" Pepper's mom turns redder than her hair when she finds a note from her daughter, claiming that her allowance should be raised.
    • In the episode "The Big Pencil," Pepper Ann's face turns dark red and her whole body combusts into ash when her rival wins a class award.
  • This happens to Dum Dum in The Perils of Penelope Pitstop episode "Game Of Peril" after Penelope kisses him for stealing The Hooded Claw's hat and cape, as they were the last items needed for a scavenger hunt.
  • Happens to Ray Stantz from The Real Ghostbusters episode "Look Homeward Ray" after his childhood crush Elaine kisses him for saving the town from the ghost.
  • In the previously lost/banned episode Ren & Stimpy episode, "Man's Best Friend", George Liquor's face also turned red with anger, eyes bulging and neck stretched with veins popping, while repeatedly telling Stimpy to get on the couch as part of his and Ren's disciplinary training. Stimpy thought he was really going to get it once he did what George said, but instead he's pleased with him and rewards him with a cigar.
    • In "Who's Stupid Now?", the director's (Anthony's dad from "A Visit to Anthony") face turns an intense red in a huff, breathing heavily and nostrils flaring while turning to the viewers, when Ren (whose role has now been reversed to Stimpy's, complete with the physical appearance in weight and shortage of intelligence) can't remember his exact lines.
  • In the Rock, Paper, Scissors episode, "The Arctic", Rock and Scissors are looking through a bag of stuff Paper's packed to survive out in the cold and Rock finds Pencil's diary within it and questions if it's hers, Paper embarrassingly tells him no while blushing.
  • Happens to Tadpole the dwarf from Jetlag Productions "Snow White" after Snow White kisses him for allowing her to stay at the dwarves house while her stepmother is trying to have her killed.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Squidward visibly blushes when looking at a picture of a female squid in "SpongeBob in RandomLand".
  • Pearl from Steven Universe blushes quite a bit (and her blush is a bluish tint thanks to her skin color being pearly-white).
    • Connie has a few in "An Indirect Kiss", and with the last one at the end of the episode, her eyesight is magically healed by Steven's magical saliva from the juice box.
    • Near the end of "Barn Mates", the resident Tsundere Lapis Lazuli does this when Peridot smiles and giggles at her.
    • In "Change Your Mind", White Diamond blushes pink after Steven points out she's acting like a child after her temper tantrum. Her "flaw" winds up spreading to her puppet Gems and even to her headship, who in turn blush pink as well. The blush is implied to be literally luminescent, too: the entire previously white room turned pink as well.
  • In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode, "Crocodile Mario", when Princess Toadstool gives the statue a kiss, its face turns neon pink.
  • Teen Titans: Used on Raven quite a few times. Starfire does this a lot, but hers is literally luminescent on account of her alien physiology.
    • Also, happens to Robin and Starfire at the end of the episode "Go".
  • This has happened to the turtles in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) when April would kiss them, as well as a police officer in "The Great Boldini" when she did the same to him.
  • Tiny Toon Adventures in certain episodes, which include the following:
    • In "Her Wacky Highness", Elmer Fudd's face turns red and he blows his stack when he finds Babs is poking fun at him with her impression right when he gets back to the classroom.
    • In the "Rent-A-Friend" segment from "Rainy Daze", an enraged Montana Max's face turns red, having gotten fed up with Buster making him the stooge and he calls the titular service to replace the bunny.
    • In the "Corn-Heads" sketch from "Weekday Afternoon Live", Elmyra's face turns red with anger and this causes the cob of corn on top of her head to become heated and erupts like a volcano. After she explodes, the corn from her head is turned into popcorn (which piles up everywhere) and she is seen laid down and dazed.
  • Happens a lot in Thomas & Friends whenever an engine is embarrassed or tired.
  • A Thousand and One... Americas: In the fifth episode, Chris shows a predominant red blush when told by Papalotl (a girl he met early on) that she likes him. As he blushes, Chris bashfully reciprocates the sentiment.
  • Tom and Jerry: In "Tom and Cherie," mousketeer Nibbles is a messenger for leader Jerry who is sending love letters to his girlfriend. Nibbles sneaks a peek at the latest letter, blushes a deep red at what he sees and discreetly puts the letter back in the envelope.
  • Used frequently in Wakfu. Evangelyne and Sadlygrove both do this, especially around each other. Also some between Yugo and Amalia. Even more so in the manga.
  • Characters on the show What About Mimi? experience this trope. Examples include:
    • In "The Great Campaign" Russell blushes red when Sincerity hugs and kisses him on the cheek.
    • In "The Stepford Twins" the eponymous character turns red twice with a tea kettle whistle over the Stepford twins' antics while trying to babysit them.
    • In "Deep Sea Mimi," Mimi flushes pink while trying to convince her teacher to let the class go on a trip.
  • Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum: Characters blush a lot in the show, usually from embarrassment or happiness. By far the character who has blushed the most is Brad.
  • Happens to Raimundo in the Xiaolin Showdown episode "Citadel Of Doom" when Kimiko kisses him.
