Allies and other people

    Hotel owner
The owner of the hotel Vinnie is staying at.

    Prostitute
A hooker with information about the ghost gambler.
  • Ambiguously Evil: It's unknown if she's aware that she's directing a Professional Killer to the man she's servicing.
  • Bad Guy Bar: She's at one, waiting for the Ghost gambler's henchman to come back so she can service him.
  • Bullying a Dragon: A very minor example. She tries to bargain with a Professional Killer for information. This can actually work.
  • Cleavage Window: She has one to make her more seductive to her clients.
  • Dungeon Bypass: Since she knows where the ghost gambler is, paying her saves Vinnie a lot of trouble, if he accepts.
  • Genre Savvy: Since she's a hooker who has some insight into the criminal underworld, she's quite astute when it comes to their unwritten code, and will survive her encounter with Vinnie by playing along with his requests, potentially even making 2080 bucks from him.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: If Vinnie kills all the gamblers in the bar, she'll wisely cough up the information for free, realising how dangerous the guy is.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's a prostitute, so this is to be expected.

    Bartender
A friendly bartender Vinnie talks to.
  • Affably Evil: He's a decent man for the owner of a Bad Guy Bar.
  • Beard of Evil: Like the hotel manager, he's bearded. Though he's a far more minor criminal than most who fit this trope.
  • The Confidant: He's this to the woman at his bar, who has told him she's being abused.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He harbors members of an illegal gambling ring but domestic abusers sicken him.
  • Mr. Exposition: He gives a bit of a background on the woman drinking at his bar and why she's here in the first place.
  • Nice Guy: Surprisingly, he's genuinely this. He's sympathetic to a victim of Domestic Abuse and helps Vinnie without being coerced.
  • Quest Giver: He has Vinnie kill his customer's abusive husband on her behalf.

    Sad woman
She's sad.
  • Broken Bird: She's depressed due to being abused by her husband.
  • Domestic Abuse: On the receiving end of it, from her husband who constantly beats her.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Why she's at the bar. She's trying to escape the abuse she's subjected to.
  • Pet the Dog: Vinnie does a good deed by saving her the trauma of dealing with her evil husband by simply employing Murder Is the Best Solution on his abusive ass.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It's not shown how she moved on with her life, now that her abusive husband has been murdered. She just disappears, another stick figure impacted by Vinnie's actions.

    Darwen
An old man Vinnie is acquainted with
See Deadly newcomer for his page.

    Little boy
Some guy that got attacked by some thugs. Vinnie helps him out
  • Damsel in Distress: He's at the mercy of the local thugs, who mugged him. Vinnie swoops in and offers him his support, helping the poor guy avert this trope in the end.
  • Pet the Dog: Vinnie kills all those giving him a hard time, and wipes out the rest of the gang too. It's unlikely he'll be thrust into a similar situation for a while.
  • Quest Giver: Vinnie helps him by ridding the gray mafia, including killing those who mugged him and left him bruised up in the alleyway.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He suffers this at the hands of thugs. Poor boy.

    Old man
A man living in the slums.
  • Bittersweet Ending: While his sons obviously remain dead, their killer and his gang are wiped out and the streets are made a safer place, offering him some peace of mind.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His sons were forced into a life of crime and assassinated after a job. He's forced to live near his son's killers due to not having any other options, too old to defend himself against those who would wish him harm.
  • Mr. Exposition: He gives some sordid insight into the gray mafia, in case you felt bad about killing them in the first game.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Both his sons were assassinated by the gray mafia.

    Crackhead
Some addict Vinnie can sell drugs to.
  • Addled Addict: How he's portrayed. Sadly, he's still like this by the end of the game.
  • Drugs Are Bad: His addiction makes him subject others to horrible puns, and have to live with the shame of this when he sobers up. On a more serious note, he's obviously more well dressed than other slum dwellers, which means little when he's too high to do anything with what he has, further showing the destructive nature of the drugs he consumes and is consumed by.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: While Vinnie is contemplating who to sell his newly acquired drugs to, he and the player are reminded of the obviously high idiot loitering outside a nearby building at the start of the mission.
  • Incredibly Lame Pun: He makes a groaner of a joke about getting high when encountered by Vinnie.
  • Kick the Dog: Vinnie can feed his addiction by selling him drugs, thus continuing his destructive cycle.

    Sailor
A sailor with a cool cap and a key Vinnie needs.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's willing to help Vinnie out against the Yakuza, providing he gets his cap back.
  • Fetch Quest: He gives Vinnie one, which involves giving him his beloved hat back.
  • Lazy Bum: He sends Vinnie on a short errand to get his hat back rather than simply doing it himself.
  • Noodle Incident: How he came in possession of the key is unknown. Maybe he owns the place?
  • Quest Giver: He has one too, which involves getting his hat for him. Despite how unimportant the errand may sound, it's necessary to get the key in his possession.
  • Rugged Scar: He has a prominent one on his face, to show that he's been in this dangerous world for a long time and not come out completely unscathed.
  • Signature Headgear: His hat is this for him, hence why it's so important to give it back to him.

    Gun store owner
A friendly gun store owner
  • Affably Evil: He's willingly selling firearms to a criminal, though he's so pleasant it's easy to forget how morally dubious his actions are.
  • Arms Dealer: A legal example. He runs a gun store Vinnie can visit. Though, selling guns to a Professional Killer that you know is one is eyebrow raising to say the least.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Of the quote unquote type. He respects Vinnie and is honored to sell to him.
  • Manly Facial Hair: He has this, to go with his rugged Arms Dealer look.
  • Nice Guy: He's one of the few people to compliment Vinnie when seeing him.

Assassination targets

    The ghost gambler
A successful gambler who wins lots of money. He bets by proxy, due to having many enemies.
  • Arc Villain: Of the ghost gambler mission, which takes up the first part of the game.
  • Cool Car: He has one, which he'll use to flee if the need arises.
  • Genre Savvy: He's surprisingly intelligent for a minor villain. He doesn't put himself in danger and uses proxies to do his dirty work and uses his gambling winnings to buy armed guards and a fast car. While it doesn't save him, it makes killing him more challenging.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: He's only referred to as the ghost gambler, though he probably doesn't mind.
  • Professional Gambler: What he's renowned for. It's also what causes his death.
  • Properly Paranoid: He uses his henchmen to gamble due to fear he'll be assassinated. He's right in thinking this way, though it doesn't save him from Vinnie's scope.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Once he realises Vinnie is killing his men, he gets in his car and tries to make a run for it. It almost works.
  • The Spook: How he got his nickname. He's hardly ever seen, due to being a notorious figure in the criminal underworld with a lot of enemies.

    Party organisers
Some drunks throwing a loud party.
  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: They get so drunk that they stop caring about how loud and disruptive they are being. This leads to their deaths.
  • Black-and-Grey Morality: They're inconsiderate but not malicious (with their only actual crime being public urination.) The hotel manager on the other hand...
  • Disproportionate Retribution: They're assholes, though not an Asshole Victim, due to their death being such an excessive solution for stopping their loud party.
  • Funny Background Event: One of them is pissing on the building wall in an alleyway when he's shot to death.
  • It's All About Me: They couldn't care less about those who have to put up with their loud music.
  • Toilet Humor: One of them is pissing on a wall.
  • Undignified Death: One of them is killed while peeing outside. Not the most impressive way to go, that's for sure.

    Gamblers
Some gamblers gambling against the ghost gambler. The henchmen is among them.

    Horrid husband
A wife beater.
  • Asshole Victim: He's a domestic abuser, so no tears are shed for his demise.
  • Domestic Abuse: What the scoundrel is subjecting his wife to.
  • Hate Sink: All we know about him is that he's a scumbag who hits his wife. He gets hit in return by Vinnie, who comes out of it looking more sympathetic.
  • Would Hit a Girl: His own wife, to be specific. No wonder he's referred to as horrid.

Gray mafia assassination targets

    Grey mafia leader
Another grey mafia leader who Vinnie has to kill.
  • Arc Villain: Of the gray mafia missions. He's killed once all his men are eliminated.
  • Bad Boss: He's not above killing his own men once they have outlived their usefulness.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: To the original grey mafia leader. The original was outgoing and outdoorsy, playing golf while his men died, while this leader is paranoid and holed in, choosing to hide out in his headquarters.
  • Cutscene Boss: How he's dealt with. Not that he puts up a fight there either.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: He's killed in the second act's finale, with the Yakuza being the main antagonists of the story.
  • Eviler than Thou: While the original don had a genuine care for his family, this guy is just an evil scumbag.
  • Face Death with Dignity: He uses his last moments to mock Vinnie that the yakuza is out to get him.
  • Fatal Flaw: His security is top notch but he's unarmed and holed up in a small office, making him a sitting duck when Vinnie pays him a visit.
  • Greed: Money is his driving motivation, with the corpses left in his wake not even being a concern for him.
  • History Repeats: He's slain by the same guy who killed the man who held his previous position.
  • Killed Offscreen: He's shot to death in a fade to black.
  • Last Villain Stand: With all his men killed by Vinnie, he cuts his losses and uses his final moments to mock him, showing that he was woefully unprepared for Vinnie's One-Man Army capabilities.
  • Meet the New Boss: He takes the helm when the original leader is killed by Vinnie. He also gets killed by Vinnie.
  • Stationary Boss: He never moves from his office desk.
  • Villainous Valor: Having the balls to taunt Vinnie when at death's door stops him from being completely hatable and shows that despite his awful actions, he was a rather impressive figure.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Killed two of his henchmen after they finished a job for him.

    Grey mafia member
A drug dealer making a transaction. He's killed by Vinnie in order to steal the dope he's holding.
  • Drugs Are Bad: The drugs caused his death by making him worthy of being Vinnie's victim.
  • Hope Spot: He's killed mere feet away from a helicopter that could have taken him out of Vinnie's reach.
  • Surprisingly Sudden Death: He's ambushed by Vinnie even though he's surrounded by armed guards and near a functioning helicopter. He clearly wasn't expecting to die so quickly.

    snipers
Some snipers guarding the gray mafia
  • Cold Sniper: They're bodyguards for the mob rocking the rifles at their disposal. They don't have much in the way of morality either.
  • Elite Mooks: They're skilled marksmen and better armed than most. Pity they die like the rest of them.
  • Flat Character: They're yet another obstacle between Vinnie and his targets.
  • Sniping Mission: A rifle is needed to locate and eliminate them before they return the favor.
