Artur

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2_74.jpg

The lucky, yet mellow roommate of Sophie and Erika. The Straight Man to the cast's shenanigans, Artur has also found himself to be the target of his roommates' affections as well.

  • Art Evolution: Artur started off in the strip looking rather lanky and unattractive, but as the strip went on, he developed into a handsome young man.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Artur is accidentally accurate when Clara yells at him for "manspreading". He basically asks her "What is it that really upsets you, me spreading my legs, or you not having a chance in years to spread yours?" This gives him her wrath.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Nice guy, until you annoy him too much. Clara spouting Social Justice warrior/Political Correctness propaganda has a knack for receiving either an Armor-Piercing Question or a truly savage and sarcastic response.
  • Deep Sleep: Artur doesn't wake up easilly, doesn’t stir during thunderstorms or loud shouting and banging at his door. Erika usually uses this to snuggle with him (and heavily implied to do a lot more than that) without Artur realizing it.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Arthur is occasionally mistaken for a woman, much to his dismay.
  • Masturbation Means Sexual Frustration: Being roommates with two extremely attractive girls who don't care about wearing skimpy outfits in front of him often leaves Artur sexually frustrated, and it's hinted he deals with it via constant masturbation. This is played for laughs in this strip where Artur effortlessly lifts a gigantic weight from on top of a man with one arm. When the man asks him how he has so much strength in that arm, Artur immediately introduces him to Sophie, emphasizing that they're just roommates.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite looking lanky, Artur is capable of lifting tons with his right arm, something he attributes to constant masturbation due to his attractive roommates.
  • Nice Guy: Artur is at his core a really nice guy, for which reason both girls gradually gains a massive crush on him. Reasons include putting up with both girls’ eccentricities (especially early on), respecting their boundaries and taking care of either one, such as making sure they get to bed when they stay up late or comforts them when they’re sad.
  • Only Sane Man: Was this to the cast, but as the comic went on, he now shares this role with Sophie, who underwent her own Character Development to be far less shallow and spiteful than she was before.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Male example: Artur may come across as a bit of a slacker in his appearance, but when he puts on the ritz....
  • Straight Man\Supporting Protagonist: Artur has very little real personality as portrayed and exists mostly as a foil to Erika and Sophie's bizarre behavior.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Artur seems to have this reaction to spiders.

Sophie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_3.jpg

The "Hipster Girl" of the cast. Starting out as an aloof, shallow hipster, Sophie is now arguably the Straight Woman of the group. She seems rather protective of Erika as well, even warning Artur when he moved in with them to not even think about taking advantage of them. Over time, however, it seems that she has developed really strong feelings for Artur (not that she'll freely admit that), which tends to be the crux of many of their strips together.

  • All Women Are Lustful: Played with for Sophie, who doesn't show much sexual interest in people normally but even she appears to need to cool down at times.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Both she and Erika are extremely well-endowed and their effect on Artur on a lizard brain level is pretty much the main Running Gag of the strip.
  • Character Development: Early on, Sophie was aloof and at times rather unpleasant (especially to kids), but she has since mellowed out on her behaviour since then.
  • Child Hater: Sophie has zero tolerance for children and considers parenthood to be indistinguishable from death.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Some of the side strips show that she's easily flustered when Erika makes a move on Artur.
  • Cool Aunt: Seemingly Sophie’s relationship with her niece Lucy, made apparent as the niece is often shown visiting the trio’s apartment.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Sophie once invaded her neighbors' home and eats their food just because they were using her Wi-Fi.
  • Dope Slap: She winds up on the receiving end of one by Erika when Artur's earlier promise not to make any moves on them when he first moved in backfires as the two are now smitten with him.
  • Dude, He's Like, in a Coma!: She commonly catches Erika attempting this, but she's not off the hook herself, once pretending to give CPR to Artur when Erika is the one who busts her.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Sophie may come across as a snobbish Jerkass that doesn't really care about anybody, but even she got freaked out in this strip.
    • She calls out her sister for carelessly leaving behind a a bottle of chemicals in the event her daughter Lucy could have accidentally swallowed its contents.
  • Hipster: Sophie, as per the title. She goes to great lengths to be different from everyone else and takes her social media updates extremely seriously.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Sophie comments that Artur can pull off looking like Gomez Addams, but not acting like him. He proves her wrong, especially when she unwittingly gives him the bait by using French, and, because she's already smitten with him so hard, it works too well and she's flustered to the point of fainting.
  • Hypocrite: Sophie was this in earlier strips, and even in some newer ones she can come across as this.
  • Jerkass: Sophie can be extremely selfish and unpleasant.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: The above being said, however, Sophie isn't all that bad, and is shown to genuinely care for Arthur and Erika.
  • Little Miss Snarker: Flashbacks to her childhood show that she was pretty sarcastic even back then.
  • Laughing Mad: Asking Sophie to smile will sometimes result in this.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Really, any of the main cast can fall into this trope, but if there are sexy pinups of the cast made by the author, expect either Sophie or Erika to be the first character featured.
  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: A New Year's strip shows that Sophie's mother looks more like her twin.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: See Dope Slap above. Sophie warned Artur about making a move on either her or Erika when he moved in, not taking into account that one, he's a man of his word, and two, the both of them would eventually become very attracted to him.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Sophie can and will do this to Clara if she pushes the wrong button.
  • The Snark Knight: It's made clear that even as a child, she was incredibly jaded.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: The main reason Erika and Sophie have fallen for Artur. A supportive and good friend despite their idiosyncrancies, a guy who's clearly physically attracted to them, but has never even thought of taking advantage of them, and even taken care of them at their worst. Best shown here.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Sophie is always quick to point out all the problems and injustices in society, though she's too jaded to actually do much in the way of activism or protesting.
  • Team Mom: She tries to rein in Erika a lot, and sometimes imparts advice to the rest of the cast when they comment on their situation.
  • Tsundere: Sophie eventually becomes this for Artur. She even refers to him as fool to hide her embarassment.
  • When She Smiles: When she tells Artur about someone who got aggressive about how she should smile more, his response is agree she shouldn't force herself to smile. Because it makes the times she actually does even better. A statement that got her to smile.

Erika

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_5_2.jpg

The titular "Gamer Girl" of the gang. She is obsessed with videogames to the point where she'd even forget to take a bath if she gets really engrossed in it. She is roomies with Sophie and Artur, the latter of whom she maintains a crush on, to the point of sneaking in his room to cuddle him in his sleep (much to Sophie's chagrin.) Many of the strips focusing on her focus on videogames with her in the protagonist's role.

  • Absurd Phobia: As a gamer, Erica has one of these from Super Mario Cart.
  • Berserk Button: Do not taunt Erika and tell her that she's bad at any videogame. Artur learned this the hard way.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Both she and Sophie are extremely well-endowed and their effect on Artur on a lizard brain level is pretty much the main Running Gag of the strip.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Erika tends to act a lot sillier than the rest of the cast sometimes. In-games, however, she averts this, catching on to the various shenanigans that happens in the games' worlds.
  • Daddy's Girl: Erika is often spoiled by her father, who would never say no to her, and often secretly buy her video games.
  • Discriminate and Switch: Erika is unhappy with a cosplayer's Mileena outfit, and the cosplayer assumes it's because Erika thinks she's not attractive enough to pull it off. Erika is in fact unhappy that the cosplayer is carrying a fan, since it's Kitana and not Mileena who fights with a fan.
  • Dude, He's Like, in a Coma!: Erika has a habit of sneaking into Artur's room whenever he's asleep. One can only speculate as to what she actually does in there sometimes, though one strip strongly implies that she once gave him a "Happy Ending" when he comments on feeling strangely "refreshed" after waking up.
  • Genki Girl: She gets really excited about videogaming, to the point where she got so excited after winning a racing match against Artur, she threw up her arms in victory....causing her boobs to fall out and give the poor lad a nosebleed.
  • Hero of Another Story: Strips focusing on her gaming misadventures would put her in the game's world itself as a protagonist, albeit for video game related gags.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Erika doesn't openly try to be sexy, and is sometimes oblivious to the effects her habits can have on Artur (such as running naked right in front of Artur when Sophie tells her it's bathtime.)
  • Ms. Fanservice: As indicated with Sophie above, if Jago does any sexy art of the girls, Erika or Sophie would be his first illustration.
  • Obliviously Beautiful: Erika seems unaware of how smoking hot she is.
  • The Pigpen: Erika games to the point where Sophie has to tell her to bathe. One infamous incident involved Erika attracting flies before Sophie finally put her foot down.
  • She's All Grown Up: This strip plays around with this trope.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: When Erika goes out and looks her best, however, she can truly show off some style with game-related fashion.
  • Unkempt Beauty: She doesn’t put a lot of work into her appearance and has to be reminded to bath after a while, but still manages to look really attractive.
  • Womanchild: Erika is decidedly irresponsible and needs Sophie to tell her to do things like take baths and go to bed on time.

Elly

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_4.jpg

Dubbed the "Otaku Girl'' by the fans, Elly is an anime and manga fan and an aspiring artist who takes commissions online. She is friends with Artur, but unlike Sophie and Erika, she doesn't maintain a crush on him. Many of her strips focus on anime culture and her eternal struggle with having a flat chest.

  • A-Cup Angst: Judging from Elly's expression seen here, that is. To add insult to injury, her mother is very busty, but Elly failed to inherit her breasts, or even her father's.
  • Berserk Button: Seeing how well-endowed her mom is can upset her a lot.
  • Cosplay: Par for the course, although many of the other characters indulge in this as well.
  • Expressive Hair: Her pink pigtails can go up and down depending on her mood, as seen here.
  • Genki Girl: Averted. Despite being the anime-otaku of the group, she's relatively mellow.
  • Male Gaze: There have been many sexy pinups of her that places a lot of focus on her butt.
  • Older Than She Looks: Despite looking way younger than the rest of the cast (and being three heads shorter than Artur), Elly is actually 21.
  • Shipper on Deck: She once went out with Artur to a play about Jesus (specifically the scene where Judas gives Jesus the kiss of betrayal) and said: "Hm. I ship it!"
  • Token Mini-Moe: As seen here.

Clara

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_6.jpg

The Straw Feminist of the cast. Initially introduced as a friend of Sophie's, Clara has since taken on a bigger role in the comic, no doubt due to the increasing prominence of feminism and social justice in the media. Clara is, in essence, a character that parodies the worst aspects of those, much to the chagrin of her friends.

  • Berserk Button: Oh, boy. Artur seems to push these a lot with her. One was when he suggested that she got annoyed at his "manspreading" because she was jealous that she never got the chance to spread her own, and another was him mistaking her "empowered female character" as a boy.
  • Genki Girl: Yes, really.
  • Hate Sink: Clara is actually a parody of this. Despite being the resident Social Justice Warrior of the strip, most people actually empathize with the comics featuring her, due to her actions showing how flat out ridiculous people like her can act.
  • Hypocrite: Par for the course, the punchline of a lot of Clara's strips focus on how much of this she (and by extension, people like her) act like. For example....
  • Hidden Depths\Irony: The Straw Feminist of the cast is also just as present in whatever Fanservice the strips and the side materials had to offer, and is the only character so far to have been shown in a sexual situation. However, if one was to take a look at a couple of her lingerie pictures, she seems to be in a more pensive mood, almost as if she's secretly longing to cut loose and embrace her sexuality (also, as mentioned before, she once engaged in sex in an attempt to calm her temperament down.)
  • Jerkass: It seems that whatever unpleasantness Sophie had in the past rubbed off on her, to a more extreme extent. One such example has her threaten her lover with an accusation of rape just because she wasn't satisfied with the sex she paid for.
  • Moral Guardians: Clara is one of the "hard-left identity politics extremist" type.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: She seems to be this for Artur, and to a smaller extent, Elly.
  • You Need to Get Laid: Clara has received this suggestion a few times, but it turns out that she's actually tried and it didn't help.

Megan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_1_428.jpg

A woman that Artur went to school with in the past and is now forced to work with. She used to bully him, but seeing that he now lives with Erica and Sophie, Megan has set her eyes on him.

  • The Bully: In her school days with Artur, she wasn’t nice to him.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Really, she had zero interest in Artur until she saw how much Sophie and Artur were fawning over him.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She once made a comment to a pair of women promoting positive body image with t-shirts saying “Proud of my body”, that she would like to have one too. Problem is that these women were normal and Megan is built like the other women on the main cast.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Out of all the cast, Megan is the most likely to flaunt her figure, and while she prefers to tease over social media, she’s not adverse to doing it directly to get by in life, if even to pay for a small meal. It's later mentioned by Artur that she's runs an OnlyFans successful enough to comfortably support herself and is only keeping her day job at the office with Artur and Danny so she has nice, technically true way to explain her financial stability to her parents that isn't taking her clothes off for a living. Danny sometimes "leaks" Megan's content, which manifest as content on Jago's Patreon, making Megan the one member of the recurring cast to be drawn nude in LWHAG media.

Danny

A coworker and friend of Artur’s, who’s always wearing an orange shirt and attempting to woo women.

  • Butt-Monkey: His attempts to flirt is a frequent source of comedy.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Danny is frequently seen having a new plan for attracting women, but his success rate seems limited and his attempts can be outright hamfisted at times, using cheesy pick-up-lines or .
  • Innocently Insensitive: Once flirted with Elly by drawing attention to her small bust.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Always, always, wears an orangeshirt.
