• Innocently Insensitive: He friendly rejected Athena (back when she was a nerd) who had a crush on him, rejecting Athena which made her upset.
• Lovable Jock: He’s in the football and basketball team, he’s pleasant, kind and treats others with respect.

• Cruel Cheerleader: A mild example of the trope. Silvia is cheer captain of the Wildcats, she fits the bitchy/snobby cheerleader type, also she has a compassionate side.
• Fair-Weather Friend: She ditches Sage during the nude topless photo incident, which it embarrassed her image.
• Girly Girl: Silvia loves fashion, shopping, ballet, cheerleading, baking and any types of girly things. But doing archery is her only exception.
• Girl Posse: She formed a popular girl clique of her own with Charlotte, Sara and Athena.
• Head-Turning Beauty: She’s one of the beautiful girls in school.

She has milder version of an Alpha Bitch such as being vain, bossy, snooty but she isn’t so bad when you get to know her. Also, she has sympathetic and compassionate side including with her friends and love interest.
• Popular Is Dumb: One of the most popular girls in school, but she’s not academically smart.
• Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy: While Silvia is popular herself, she’s attracted to both popular guys, Tony and Chase.
• Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She has crushes on guys who are good deep down such as Tony, Chase and Larke.
• Socialite: She’s a rich girl who loves to parties in any places.
• Spicy Latina: Judging by her attitude, Silvia is certainly this.
• Rich Bitch: Downplayed. Silvia came from the wealthy family, she’s the daughter of the rich restaurant owner, she’s an ice queen, spoiled and pretty aloof than being malicious and snide.
• Upper-Class Twit: She’s the wealthy it girl, but not the brightest when it comes to school.
• Valley Girl: Silvia is rich, pretty and isn’t that bright.

• Alcoholic Parent: His biological father is an alcoholic who is jobless and regularly neglects Tristian. His stepfather, Rodney isn’t so better too.
• Black and Nerdy: Downplayed. Tristian is a brightest student in school and a photography could be his only thing, but he doesn’t have any nerdy traits.
• Gay Guy Seeks Popular Jock: Tristian has a crush on a popular jock Chase, and he wanted to be with him. Also, He’s jealous of Chase’s obsession with Silvia.
• Nice Guy: Tristian could be troubled and self-righteous, but he is pleasant, endearing and pretty helpful guy.
• Rape as Backstory: He was molested by his stepfather in middle school.
• Straight Gay: He is gay, but he doesn’t have any feminine traits/mannerism and only does photography.
• Twofer Token Minority: He is biracial and gay.

• Interclass Friendship: With rich and popular girl Silvia.
• New Transfer Student: Ginevra came all the way from Italy, she was known to be a new girl in school and town.
• Nice Girl: Silvia is kind, sweet and endearing girl, although she could be assertive at times.

• Black and Nerdy: Lizzie gets good grades in school, she’s african american, one of the most smartest and down to earth characters.
• Brainy Brunette: Lizzie has black curly hair, she’s a brightest student who does well in her studies.
• Drama Club: She’s involved in one.
• Go-Getter Girl: She’s a Straight A student, does tutoring sessions, is part of environmental club, drama club and is on the dance committee.
• Nice Girl: Despite being critical and stubborn at times, Lizzie is nice, reliable, altruistic and she made mistakes too.

• Big Man on Campus: One of the popular guys in school, He’s rich, handsome, has a nice car, an athlete such as being in a football and wrestling team, has friends to hang out with such as Chase and quite popular because of it.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Tony could be cocky, rude, immature and a sleaze, but he’s not that bad compared to worse high school jocks and has a good heart underneath it.
• Jerk Jock: He is the member of the football and wrestling team, downplayed that he is not a bully, but he was mostly a jerk to male students except his friends and is a decent person.

• Former Friend of Alpha Bitch: To newly popular Athena.
• Not Like Other Girls: Coraline has no interest of doing girly things, she doesn’t do makeup, fashion, painting nails, and hated the alpha bitches at school. She’s only likes technology and baseball.
• Power Trio: Her, Tristian and Athena were this back in freshmen year, until Athena backs out and became an Alpha Bitch.
• The Rival: To both, Silvia and Athena.
• Tomboy: Coraline has interest of baseball, astrology, books and technology stuff.
• We Used to Be Friends: Coraline used to be friends with Athena in freshmen year, until in the summer that Athena abandons her to hang out with the popular kids after her extreme makeover.

• Beta Bitch: Charlotte is Silvia's right hand man, always take the leader's side, follows the command, she could be just as snooty and snide as her leader.
• Cruel Cheerleader: Is a member of the cheerleading team, she’s really just as mean and catty like Silvia.
• Mock Millionaire: Charlotte gives off the vibes that her family is rich like Silvia and Sara, but it turns out she came from the middle-lower class family and often uses a abandoned mansions to make people think she live there.
• Rich Bitch: Actually Subverted. Charlotte may be popular and presented herself as a rich girl living in a mansion, but she’s actually came from the middle-lower class family.

• Daddy's Girl: Has a better relationship with her father more than her terrible mother.
• Innocent Beta Bitch: Sara is the member of the Silvia's popular clique, she is popular, rich, innocent, air-headed, hanging out with her friends, but she's also the nicest and friendliest person in the group. It's also clear that she doesn't judge other students and treat people who are lower status than her with contempt.
• Nice Girl: Sara is kind, altruistic, innocent and a friendly person, even though Sara is a better friend than Charlotte.
• Nice Mean And In Between: Sara is the nice one, Silvia is the mean one (although she has a softer side), and Charlotte is In-Between.
• Pom-Pom Girl: Sara is the member of the Wildcats Cheerleading team, but she’s kind and innocent girl compared to mean and catty cheerleaders like Charlotte, Silvia and Athena.
• Spoiled Sweet: Sara came from the rich family, deep down she's really a good person.
• Token Good Teammate: She is the only girl of the popular clique who isn't unpleasant, shallow and snobby.

• Alpha Bitch: Once Athena got herself a makeover by removing her glasses and then changes into contacts, she became one of the most popular girls in school with mean, confident and manipulative nature in sophomore year. She initially becomes so mean to people she knows, including her old friends.
• The Bully: To Coraline, Tristian and the biggest one is Naya.
• Cruel Cheerleader: She is a member of the wildcats cheerleading squad, she is openly unpleasant and snide to people.
• Everyone Loves Blondes: Along with her brunette friend Silvia, Athena is blonde, pretty, popular and one of the most desirable girls at school.
• Evil Former Friend: To Coraline and Tristian.
• Freudian Excuse: Athena was known to be a nerd from her childhood, even in middle school she was bullied by the other kids for being a nerd and for being “too smart”. No wonder she became popular and acts like a massive bitch to people.
• Girl Posse: Other than hanging out with Silvia, Athena has one as well with Gloria, Angela and Carrie.
• Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Back then when Athena was a freshman where she was a sweet, kind and awkward nerd with blonde hair. Until she got herself an extreme makeover, so she averts this trope.
• Interclass Friendship: Back when Athena, Coraline and Tristian were a trio. Athena came from the upper-middle class family in a suburban house, while Coraline came from the humble house and Tristian lives in a mobile home (they came from poor backgrounds).
• Jerkass: One of the most meanest characters of the book, she’s spiteful, shallow, rude and a bully. Although, she has few redeeming qualities.
• Pink Is Feminine: Her outfits, aesthetics and her room could explain pink is her favorite color.
• Peer Pressure Makes You Evil: Not exactly evil, but her becoming popular in school, made her very mean and allows herself to bully people.
• Popular Is Evil: Uses her way to make life hell for everyone in school.
• Shrinking Violet: Nerdy Athena was sweet and quite shy that time. She grows out of this trope to be more confident in her queen bee persona.
• Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy: Nerdy Athena has a crush on Chase, a popular jock.
• Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Not only that Chase is a popular boy, Nerdy Athena likes him because of his kindness.
• Rich Bitch: Athena came from the upper-middle class household with two mothers in a suburban house, uses her mother’s money or her debit card with money it. So she has no problems being so rude to waiters/waitresses in the restaurant and shows contempt to Naya.
• Took a Level in Jerkass: Athena has went from a sweet, shy and good person into a rude, popular, shallow and vile human being.It’s hard to blame her for all she’s been through.
• We Used to Be Friends: To both Coraline and Tristian, she abandoned them after getting a makeover and becoming popular to hang out with the cool kids.
• Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Athena was shy, sweet and a kind nerd in her freshman year, sophomore year had made her into become a popular, stuck up girl.

• All of the Other Reindeer: Sage was mocked and shunned by other students. She was being called “slut”, and even her family hates her for her actions. Like Coraline and Tristian, she wasn’t treated very well by her classmates and her former friends.
• Black Sheep: Ever since Sage’s topless photo incident was displayed and her status as an outcast, she was shown to be a disappointment and an embarrassment to her family.
• Class Princess: Sage was this back in freshman year due to being a member of the cheerleader team and a beauty queen, which it outshines Silvia. Until she loses her popularity prior of the story.
• Cool Kid-and-Loser Friendship: Has this one with, nerdy Athena.
• Fallen Princess: Sage used to be the most popular student in school, she was a beauty pageant queen and cheerleader until shit hits the fan. Her popularity goes down the drain when she sent a nude photo to a jock (which he ask for), and it leads to the photo gets circulated into the entire school. So she became a school outcast because of it, losing her friends, her family hating on her and giving up all of her extracurriculars. So, she was easily replaced by Athena as a result.
• We Used to Be Friends: To Silvia and her friends, they drifted apart after the slüt shaming incident.
  • Athena as well, she used to be her inspiration until Sage’s popularity goes down the drain.

• All Girls Want Bad Boys: She finds all the bad and dangerous guys attractive and that’s what she likes.
• Break the Cutie: Things doesn’t go well for Leighton because of her parents neglect, but it has gotten worse since last year, her boyfriend was killed in a motorcycle accident.
• Dark Is Not Evil: Leighton wears some dark clothing, rides motorcycle, she’s really a damaged person, but actually a good person.
• Freudian Excuse: She was emotionally neglected by both of her parents, developing mental issues and what makes it worse is that her last boyfriend was killed in a motorcycle accident. No wonder why, she’s so messed up.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She could be jerky, unpleasant, manipulative, ill-mannered, rebellious personality, but she has a good heart underneath.
• Lonely Rich Kid: Rich, but her parents are neglectful to her (because of her father being too busy of his car dealership and her mother only cares about her appearance).
• Rebellious Princess: Leighton came from the wealthy and privileged family, but she’s rebellious and likes to break rules.
• Token Evil Teammate: Downplayed. Leighton is an only member of the outcast group who is rebellious, self-destructive, rough and cynical while the rest are the saints.
• Troubled, but Cute: She’s a gorgeous teenager, but she's a damaged teenager stems from having parental issues.
