Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

For the Tumblr entries in 9065, I trimmed the Stealth Parody entry and didn't add Those Wacky Nazis as "Nazis exist" is not the trope.

For the Tumblr entry in 9070, do you want that added under Internet Backdraft?

Everything else, done.

Live-Action TV: Please replace the JAG entry with this:

  • JAG: Charles "Charlie" Lynch from season 4's "Nobody's Child" and "Goodbyes" is a remorseless psychopath who kills at the drop of a hat for any reason. He begins by stomping a young girl to death solely because he fees she may have disrespected him. After the murder, Lynch opts to target her sister for fun. While initially stopped, he later returns to kidnap said sister and hold her hostage to torment her mentally before he plans on murdering her as well. When questioned about his motives, he states he kills for fun and asks if anyone has a problem with it.

Please add the following Monster write-ups.

To Monster.Literature, add:

  • "The House of Horror" (a novelette in the Jules de Grandin series by Seabury Quinn): Dr. John Biersfield is the runaway winner from Quinn's works. When his son, crippled in an accident, is Driven to Suicide by his fiancee deciding to break off the engagement due to being unable to cope with his injuries, Dr. Marston proceeds to kidnap and surgically mutilate her (by removing the bones from her arms and legs, among other things) and keep her in a basement in his house. This Disproportionate Retribution would be bad enough, but he then goes on to kidnap and mutilate thirteen other girls who did nothing but have the misfortune to resemble the fiancee. A fourteenth girl is saved (and de Grandin offers to perform the surgery to correct the damage done to her face), but the others can only be mercy killed. Interestingly, he's one of Jules de Grandin's few non-supernatural adversaries.

On Monster.Film P To Z, please replace the ''Poughkeepsie Tapes write-up with this:

  • The Poughkeepsie Tapes: The Water Street Butcher, AKA "Ed", is one of the most prolific and brutal serial killers in the history of film. He is given no backstory, but as far as the police could tell, one day he just started killing people. Taking great pride in his murders, the Butcher had logged each one of them on camera, creating 800 tapes with several thousand hours of film chronicling his sadism. He would kill and rape both adults and children (most horrifically, an 8-year old girl whom he claimed as his first victim), often violating their corpses as well, cuts a man's head off and places it inside his wife's womb to watch her reaction, and frames a retired police officer for his crimes just so the cops would kill one of their own. Possibly the worst thing he does is to the young woman Cheryl, whom he kidnaps and keeps as a prisoner and sex slave for 8 years, also forcing Cheryl to commit some of the murders. When she's finally found, she's become a lifeless shell who soon kills herself out of despair. Then he digs up the corpse and runs off with it. While the crimes listed are shown in the most detail, the killer is also shown committing many other murders on the tapes throughout the film. The Butcher appears to only kill for his own amusement and sadistic pleasure, and sees no reason to ever stop.

And on the same page, in the Runaway entry, please replace the Psycho for Hire pothole wrapped around "all for sale on the black market to the highest bidder" with a pothole to Arms Dealer.

As per the "Real Life section maintenance" thread in the Long Term Projects forum, please make the following edit to No Real Life Examples, Please!:

For the current entry of Noble Bigot, please add Noble Bigot with a Badge (IOW, "* NobleBigot, NobleBigotWithABadge: [reason]"), as NBWAB is just a subtrope of NB and uses the same reason to list it as NRLEP.

I'd like to add this to the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rainbow Rocks page under "The Film" folder:

  • Reformed, but Rejected: While the human Mane 5 has befriended Sunset Shimmer and she has mended her ways, the rest of the school is not so forgiving. Considering that she terrorized the school as the Alpha Bitch for quite a while and especially her actions in the first movie (the Fall Formal is something of a Berserk Button), its easy to see why they're not very forgiving.

Done to here.

For the NRLEP edit, I added Noble Bigot with a Badge on a separate line after all so that it indexes properly.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Forgot about indexing, my mistake.

Anyway, also on the NRLEP page, since it's no longer on the wiki I think it's safe to delete the entry for The Art of Bra Removal.

In Brown Eyes, in the Comics section, please remove the entry for Storm. As the trope is for brown eyes, Storm having blue eyes is irrelevant.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!

Hi there, we've discussed it in the Complete Monster subpage Cleanup and I'd like to have Lockdown from the film franchise cut from the Transformers page. Thanks.
