Fanfic / A Possible Encounter for a Phantom

Go To

A Possible Encounter for a Phantom is a Danny Phantom/Kim Possible crossover fanfic written by NeoMark.

Concocting an evil plan, Vlad recruits 16-year-old Kim Possible in what he thinks will help him be rid of Danny Phantom. At Casper High, she meets 14-year-old Danny Fenton, who is immediately smitten with her. From there, they encounter each others villains and soon learn Vlad's plan, which leads to something neither teen has ever dealt with before. An ancient monster called a "Terakon" leads to Kim's villains and Danny's villains uniting for a plan for world domination.

Intended to be a trilogy. The first story is nicknamed "The Terakon Saga".

    A-H
  • 0% Approval Rating: No one but the A-Listers can stand Dash Baxter’s presence. The heroes have nothing but disdain for him for his constant bullying to the point Kim has to forcefully make him leave them alone, Lancer stops favoring him after he goes too far by trying to publicly humiliate Kim, and even Bonnie refuses to associate with him after realizing he’s too immature for her tastes.
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Dash tries to hit on Kim. She rejects him for being a stereotypical bully and for harming Danny.
    • Bonnie takes a quick liking towards Danny. As attractive as she is, Danny dislikes her due to her awful personality, to the point where he prefers Ember over Bonnie. However, he does slightly soften towards her later on.
    • Motor Ed is not only still this for Shego, but he also tries to hit on Spectra. Neither of them are fond of him.
    • Dash becomes this to Bonnie as well, who utterly despises him for his stupidity, immaturity, and obnoxious bullying.
    • As attractive as Ember is, Danny isn’t interested in her because of her villainous ways and desire for conquering the world, to the point he considers her almost as unappealing as Bonnie.
  • Above the Influence: As much as Danny likes Kim and while he does enjoy some of the affection, he doesn't want to take advantage when she is under a love spell, preferring having her like him by her own choice. Considering that he knows what it's like to be under an effect like that...
  • Absurd Phobia: Duff Killigan's greatest fear is soccer because he was bullied for not liking that sport, as everyone finds out when Danny uses Killigan as a Human Shield for the Fright Knight's Soul Shredder, which made him experience his worst nightmare of being turned into a soccer ball and kicked into a net. Everyone but Kim laughs at this.
  • Accidental Misnaming: At one point, Ron calls Sam and Tucker "Sid and Tommy".
  • Accidental Pervert: While trapped in a box with Kim thanks to the Guys in White, Danny is put in scenarios where his crush on her makes this more awkward. First, while taking a deep breath to relax, he accidentally sniffs her hair. Then, while Kim struggles to move, it cause a reaction from Danny that makes her hope what she feels poking her thigh is his pen.
  • The Ace: Kim Possible manages to be impressive in cheerleading and combat, outdoing the A-list in those fields.
  • Actually Pretty Funny:
    • Kim and her enemies laugh when Danny calls Duff Killigan “the bearded lady”.
    • While in Bonnie’s dream, Danny finds it hilarious that she made her older sisters Connie and Lonnie her court jesters.
  • Adaptational Badass: Shego’s Ectoranium Hand Blasts make her a threat to ghosts, even ones as powerful as Danny Phantom.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Bonnie develops a more caring side because of her growing friendship with Danny after he helps her deal with her cruel older sisters.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: In this story, Shego's Hand Blasts derive from absorbing the anti-ghost element Ectoranium, turning her into a serious threat to Danny Phantom.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter 49 puts the focus on Danielle and her time in Amity Park while Danny is away in Middleton.
  • Adults Are Useless: Principal Ishiyama and Mr. Lancer like in canon turn a blind eye to Dash's bullying and plan to punish Kim for defending Danny from him. Kim turns the tables on them when she uses her connections to force them to punish Dash. Subverted when Dash throws a cooler full of grape juice at Kim that instead hits Danny in the gymnasium, which even Mr. Lancer is disgusted by. He realizes that Kim was right, so he punishes Dash of his own accord and even lets Kim get back at him.
  • Affably Evil: Señor Senior, Sr. and his son Señor Senior, Jr. are shameless Card-Carrying Villains but genuinely cordial and don't actually have anything personal against the heroes.
  • Aesop Amnesia: After the Terakon reveals his intellect and rebels against the Faction, Danny lampshades that, no matter how many times Vlad's plans blow up in his face, he never seems to have a failsafe in case things go wrong, calling him a moron.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Kim likes to call Danny "Spaceman".
  • Air-Vent Passageway: Kim snarks on buildings having conveniently designed air vents that people can fit in to sneak inside.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: More like “Alas, Poor Alpha Bitch”. Danny can’t bring himself to hate Bonnie anymore after realizing her home life is WAY harder than he ever could’ve imagined on account of her single mother and bullying older sisters.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys:
    • Bonnie is at first angry when she sees Danny and Kim kissing after she herself kissed him, then thinks it's neat he has some bad boy qualities in him.
    • Averted with Dash as both Kim AND Bonnie hate him for being an immature bully and vastly prefer the charming Nice Guy Danny.
  • All Guys Want Cheerleaders: Danny can't help but stare when Kim is in her cheerleader uniform.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Despite her good looks, Bonnie doesn’t have a chance with Danny since he prefers Kim.
  • All Women Are Lustful:
    • After falling for Danny, Bonnie cannot resist the opportunity to give him a Forceful Kiss.
    • Kim becomes VERY affectionate with Danny after being hit by Ember’s love song.
  • Almighty Janitor: Going along with Brilliant, but Lazy, Shego spends most of her time as Drakken's sidekick yet is well-respected in the villain world (more so than her boss).
  • Almost Kiss: Happens several time during Ship Tease moments with Danny and Kim.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Shego is tall, attractive, aloof, imposing, and has long black hair.
  • Alpha Bitch: Bonnie and Paulina are this in their respective schools as they revel in being beautiful, popular cheerleaders and bullying the heroes.
  • Always Someone Better:
    • Kim to Paulina, as a cheerleader and a person.
    • Danny admits even Bonnie is this to Paulina when it comes to looks and cheerleading.
    • Hilariously averted and played with when Danny meets Professor Dementor. He is unimpressed with the supposed "top villain" and says he prefers Drakken, due to finding him being more entertaining and having a "hot but evil" henchwoman.
  • Amazon Chaser: Danny is attracted to Kim and Shego, both being attractive women who know how to fight. A later chapter shows that Professor Dementor thinks that being threatening makes Shego more attractive.
  • Amazonian Beauty:
    • Kim is a pretty strong girl for a cheerleader, something that Danny is happy about.
    • Shego is an evil version, and Danny finds her attractive too despite her being a villain.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Nonnie is this to Bonnie, much to her dismay, as she calls her "Bon-Bon" in front of others.
  • Amnesiac Dissonance: Kim has conflicted feelings about Danny due to the 2-year age difference. However, when she temporarily had amnesia, she admitted outright liking him rather quickly, not caring that he's younger.
  • And This Is for...: In chapter 8, Dash throws a cooler's contents at Kim and says, "This is for not going out with me!"
  • Arbitrary Skepticism:
    • In chapter 1, Wade brings up the "guy with a magic artifact that turned him into a jackal monster" as a reason Kim shouldn't be sure ghosts don't exist. She takes his point.
    • In chapter 4, Tucker and Sam, in spite of knowing about things like parallel dimensions, time travel and alterations to reality, refuse to believe Kim Possible is staying at Danny's home and had dinner with him until she sits down with them at school.
    • Mego of Team Go finds it hard to believe dragons are a thing, even though Danny points out they have superpowers.
  • Arch-Enemy: As the person Kim most locks fists with, Shego's considered by some to be her true arch enemy, which is helped by their chemistry.
  • Asshole Victim: Everyone laughs at Dash when Kim throws him into a water fountain for harassing her and Danny on their date. Kim’s friends and Team Phantom certainly appreciate her sticking it to the annoying Jerk Jock.
  • Auction of Evil: When The Faction's funds start running low, Jack Hench gets the idea of auctioning off the smaller, weaker Terrakons off to other villains.
  • Badass Adorable: Kim is a pretty teenager who regularly brawls with supervillains. Danny certainly thinks she is this.
  • Badass Normal: Kim can handle Skulker without needing any powers or with the technology usually used by the Fentons. This impresses Danny.
  • Baddie Flattery: Shego compliments Danny on his combat skills and Dr. Drakken considers him a better partner for Kim than Ron by acknowledging they make a good team, especially since he actually bothers to remember the ghost boy’s name.
  • The Baroness: Shego is a capable, dangerous, and extremely attractive female villain who enjoys pulling off evil when she can. Ironically, she's more competent at villainy than her employer.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Danny admits to finding Shego and Bonnie very attractive physically but not in personality.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Played for Laughs. Danny always wanted to get closer to Kim, and in a way he does when they’re both trapped in a box by the Guys in White. However, they find that it's too close for comfort. Doesn’t mean he's not enjoying it though.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me:
    • Danny's already huge crush on Kim intensifies because of her indifference toward his standing in the social order as well as defending him from the A-Listers and the Casper High staff who side with the popular kids.
    • Bonnie was originally dismissive of Danny for his younger age and low social status. However, after Danny sticks up for her against her even meaner older sisters despite not liking her, Bonnie seems to have developed a complicated interest in him, despite him being 2 years younger than her and the fact that she is already in an on-and-off relationship with Brick Flagg.
  • Been There, Shaped History: Defied. Jack Hench claims he coined the term "henchmen". Freakshow counters that the origin of the word refers to someone who cares for horses and its modern usage began ages before he could've been born. Hench's reaction suggests he was indeed lying.
  • Benevolent Boss: Dr. Drakken is very respectful of his sidekick Shego (partly out of appreciation for her competence and partly out of fear of her explosive temper) as he treats her like an equal by brushing off her insults, respecting her refusal to be cloned, and giving her vacation time.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Kim doesn't like people who mess with her friends.
    • An attempt to be friends with Ron goes south when Tucker badmouths Bueno Nacho, leading to a "battle" between the two teens.
    • Professor Dementor has three: being dissed by Danny Phantom, anyone calling Dr. Drakken better than him, and being called clichéd or predictable.
  • Better as Friends: Bonnie settles for being friends with Danny but remains infatuated with him.
  • Betty and Veronica: Kim is the sweet and tomboyish Betty who has known Danny longer, and Bonnie is the feminine and flirtatious but icy Veronica.
  • Beware the Nice Ones:
    • Kim is a genial person. But she won't hesitate to give you a black eye if you act out.
    • Jazz is the most mature and levelheaded of Team Phantom but becomes scarily angry with Sam for setting the Terakon on a rampage by freeing it from Vlad’s control, and threatens to feed her to it if she does anything like that again.
    • While Nonnie Rockwaller is generally very sweet, she's more than willing to punish her daughters for misbehaving, as shown when Connie and Lonnie engage in a food fight.
    • Danny is a Nice Guy but will always stand up for his friends and even people he doesn't particularly care for. He manipulates Bonnie's Big Sister Bullies into getting themselves in trouble with their mom.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Vlad assembles The Faction, a group consisting of Danny and Kim's various villains, to create a Terakon army and conquer the world while also seeking to destroy their teen foes.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Drakken tries to take control of the Terakon from Vlad, but all he does is interfere and it led to the creature getting set free.
  • Big Eater: Danny mentions Dani’s enormous appetite to Kim.
  • Big Sister Bully: Danny finds out that Bonnie has two meaner, snobbier older sisters, Connie and Lonnie. They are so deplorable that he, despite not even liking Bonnie, is quick to come to her defense.
  • Big Brother Instinct: When Danny got a message from Kim asking to meet her in Middleton, he was excited to see her. When he found out it was because Danielle was in danger, he got serious.
  • Big Ego, Hidden Depths: Danny learns that Bonnie has kind of a rough home life, in that his unwanted admirer has two older sisters who're just as mean (if not meaner) to her as Bonnie herself typically is to others.
  • Bilingual Bonus: "Terakon" is a mix of the two Ancient Greek words for monster "Teras" and dragon "Drakon", much like how dinosaur translates to "Fearfully Great Lizard".
  • Birds of a Feather: Danny and Kim frequently bond over being teen heroes, having odd villains, and a love for burgers.
  • Black Sheep: Shego is the one villainous member of a superhero family.
  • Blackmail:
    • After Dash persuades Lancer and Ishiyama to punish Kim for humiliating him at the cafeteria by flipping him onto a table, she threatens to use all her connections to expose Casper High's negligence at protecting students from bullying out of favoritism toward the A-Listers unless they punish Dash for bullying. The staff immediately comply to avoid any potential bad publicity.
    • How Dementor joins The Faction, threatening to reveal Drakken posted their plans on social media.
    • In Chapter 56, Bonnie learns Danny's secret and blackmails him into dating her once the Terakons are dealt with.
    • In Chapter 60, Kim learns Bonnie is using her sisters' credit cards and blackmails her into leaving Danny alone.
  • Blaming the Victim: Instead of punishing Dash for harassing Kim and Danny, Lancer and Principal Ishiyama try to punish Kim for throwing him onto a cafeteria by promising to report her to Mayor Masters. Deconstructed as Kim becomes so disgusted by their favoritism and Selective Enforcement that she threatens to use all her media connections to reveal the staff’s negligence to the public unless they do their jobs by punishing Dash for his bullying. Realizing this would destroy Casper High’s reputation, Lancer and Ishiyama agree to her demands and give Dash detention for a week.
  • Blank White Eyes: Anyone hit by the Rage Pearl's power has their eyes turn this way.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Team Possible: Ron (blonde), Monique & Wade (brunette), and Kim (redhead).
  • Boisterous Weakling: Dash always talks a big game but he’s pathetically easy for Kim to beat up and scare away.
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: By the time Chapter 37 ends, Kim figures out Danny relies on his powers more than anything else. She spends most of Chapter 38 teaching him Kung-Fu.
  • Brains and Brawn:
  • Brainless Beauty:
    • Danny mocks Connie and Lonnie for being this by telling them they're not as smart as they claim to be.
    • The heroes also have a rather low opinion of Paulina's intelligence, with Danny flat-out calling her an airhead.
  • Breath Weapon: Both the black and red Terakons have fire breath.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Shego has a lot more common sense than her boss, but prefers to laze about reading magazines or lying on the beach when she isn't on a mission. She's the one who gave Drakken the idea to make the Bebes tougher so they can fight Danny Phantom and helped him realize he can manipulate the female robots into following his orders with reverse-psychology.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Gender-Inverted in both examples:
  • Brutal Honesty:
    • Bonnie is never shy when it comes to speaking her mind, like telling Dash she'll never date a loser like him.
    • Kim makes it crystal clear to Dash she'll never see him as anything but an annoying jerk.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Dash actually thinks it's a good idea to harass Kim despite her making it clear she will beat him up for it.
  • Bully Hunter:
    • Kim personally manhandles Dash whenever he tries to bully Danny.
    • Danny is completely disgusted by Connie and Lonnie's cruel treatment of Bonnie and gets back at them by publicly defending Bonnie from their abuse and getting them grounded by their mom by tricking them into starting a food fight with each other.
  • Cain and Abel: Shego has a very strained relationship with her heroic brothers.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: When meeting Kim's Uncle Slim and cousin Joss, Danny and Kim had a cover story for him. Ron, unable to keep his mouth shut, unintentionally added in a hint that Danny is Danny Phantom. Slim and Joss realize his Secret Identity, and Kim and Danny aren't happy with Ron for it.
    Kim: Ron! Secret identity, remember?!
Ron: (defensively) I panicked! What was I supposed to say?
Danny: Nothing! You were supposed to say NOTHING!
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Vlad at first considers getting rid of Drakken but agrees to a Villain Team-Up with him because he needs Drakken's expertise in cloning to create the Terakon.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: All of Kim and Danny's enemies are evil and proud of it. Shego even told her heroic brothers this is who she really is.
  • Casanova Wannabe:
    • Dash is this to Kim and Bonnie as they won't give him the time of day since they find him too obnoxious to stand being around.
    • Bonnie is a Rare Female Example. Her attempts to steal Danny from Kim only annoy him to no end because of her rudeness, bullying of Kim, refusal to accept rejection, and lack of respect for his personal space.
    • Kim and Monique are at best indifferent to Tucker's flirting while Bonnie outright insults him after he says only two words to her.
  • Chick Magnet: Kim, Ember, Bonnie, Paulina, Valerie and Sam are all very interested in Danny.
  • Childish Older Sibling: Connie and Lonnie are old enough to be in college but act even less mature than Bonnie by behaving more like spoiled teenagers than grown adults.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Danny. He comes close to seeing Kim changing a few times and immediately regrets it. However, when using a robot insect to spy on the villains, he thinks of how he wishes Shego was wearing a skirt.
  • Clark Kenting: Kim's villains actually briefly acknowledge Danny Fenton looks like Danny Phantom, something that caught him off-guard.
  • Class Princess: Kim has developed something of a reputation as one at Casper High for being a kind and beautiful cheerleader who's willing to stand up to and beat up the resident bully Dash Baxter.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl:
    • Sam does not like how Danny spends so much time around Kim.
    • Kim, while under Ember's love spell, becomes really obsessive and clingy towards Danny.
    • Bonnie develops a crush on Danny and also switches between this and being a Tsundere towards him.
    • Tara angrily tells Jazz that Josh Mankey is her boyfriend while they're talking.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Even when Rufus and Monique figure it out, Ron can't seem to make the obvious connection that Danny Fenton is Danny Phantom when people point out the obvious clues. It took some time for him to finally realize it. One comment in the reviews even pointed out Ron once accused Josh Mankey of being a monkey due to having a similar sounding name.
  • Commonality Connection: Embarrassing parents? Arch-Enemy out to Take Over the World? An assortment of villains? Best friends at your side? And juggling school life? Danny and Kim find they have more in common than they realized.
  • Control Freak: Bonnie treats Danny more like a servant than a boyfriend when she blackmails him into dating her. She’s very bossy and demanding, outright ordering Danny to take her on dates and kiss her as well as threatening him into staying away from Kim unless it’s hero business or if he just acts snippy towards her.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: The Terakon at first appears to be a blatant Expy of Predaking in Transformers: Prime. Both of them are members of a long extinct race of dragons brought back to life via genetic engineering by the villains to use as a weapon. While some elements play out the same, the two are different characters. Predaking has no memories of his past life and was only loyal to Megatron and the Decepticons out of gratitude, wanting his race back because he didn't want to be the only one of his kind. Thirorex, by contrast, has his memories return and is in fact a sociopath with ambitions for world domination, and wanted the revival of his race to possess an army to make it possible.
  • Crash-Into Hello: Danny meets Kim after accidentally bumping into her while running in the halls. The moment he sees what she looks like causes him to fall back down after getting up.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Dash can't stand any girl, especially gorgeous ones like Kim and Bonnie, paying more attention to Danny than him.
  • Crime of Self-Defense: Dash tries to get Kim in trouble for standing up to him when he was bullying Danny. Thankfully, it backfires when Kim turns the tables on Mr. Lancer and Principal Ishiyama by threatening to use her connections to alert the media that Casper High turns a blind eye to bullying unless they punish Dash for bullying, which they do by giving him a week of detention.
  • Crossover Cameo: The Huntsman, Eli Pandarus, Wizard Kelly and Dr. Hämsterviel make appearances in an auction for Terakons.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Ron's mystical monkey powers help him fight off Skulker and the Fright Night.
  • Cruel Cheerleader: Bonnie is a very rude and snobby Alpha Bitch to the point Team Phantom considers her worse than Paulina. It only gets worse when she develops a crush on Danny and doesn't mind blackmailing him into dating her by threatening to expose his secret identity. It's somewhat downplayed later as she develops a soft spot for Danny and is willing to help him, for a price of course.
  • Crush Blush: Danny blushes around Kim almost every time they're together.
  • Cute Bruiser: Kim is a beautiful cheerleader who regularly beats up bad guys.
  • Dance of Romance: Kim teaches Danny to dance a bit, adding another moment of Ship Tease between them.
  • Dark Action Girl: Shego is a deadly and brutal fighter who can handle both Kim and Danny.
  • Dark Is Evil: The Terakon is said to be mostly black and appears to be genuinely malicious.
  • Dating Catwoman: Downplayed as Danny's main interest is in Kim, but he does seem to share a mutual attraction with Ember.
  • Dead Guy Junior: Jazz brings up that her parents were going to name Danny "Danielle" after Maddie's grandmother if he were a girl.
  • Deadpan Snarker:
    • One thing Kim and Bonnie have in common is that they have pretty dry wit, especially when dealing with people that annoy them.
    • Danny and Sam also have shades of this.
    • Shego is the most sarcastic person in the story. Having to deal with the cliche supervillain antics of her bosses, Dr. Drakken and Vlad Plasmius, certainly doesn’t help.
  • Death Glare: The Terakon gives off one that causes Danny to consider it more than just an animal.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype:
    • Dash is this to the Jerk Jock and The Bully because his obnoxious attitude is portrayed realistically as unacceptable. The heroes have nothing but disdain for Dash for constantly harassing them, Lancer favors the A-Listers but even he draws the line when Dash tries to humiliate Kim in public, and even fellow bully Bonnie Rockwaller finds Dash too immature to put up and wants nothing to do with him.
    • Bonnie is this of the Alpha Bitch. Unlike Paulina who is just a snobby brat, Bonnie’s nasty attitude is born from an inferiority complex toward Kim and her older sisters, as well as a difficult home life on account of her absent father and verbally abusive sisters, Connie and Lonnie, who constantly deride her self-worth.
  • Deducing the Secret Identity: Kim, James, and Ann Possible are observant enough to deduce Danny’s secret identity by realizing the physical similarities between both Dannys. Kim’s parents noticed Danny Phantom showed up in Middleton and worked with Kim around the same time as Danny Fenton came, plus the boys have the same body type, hair style, and names. Even Kim’s enemies notice a vague similarity between Danny and his ghost-half.
  • Defiant Captive: Even when being held hostage and threatened by Shego as Danny Fenton, he can’t resist snarking at Kim’s enemies.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Bonnie falls in love with Danny after he helps her with her mean older sisters.
  • Destructive Savior: One night, Jack and Maddie missed a ghost and shot a two-foot hole in a billboard that they need to pay off by taking Mr. Barkin and Bonnie as tenants.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Dash actually thought he'd get away with throwing a cooler full of grape juice in an attempt to publicly humiliate Kim, only for Danny to take the hit for her in the gymnasium and Lancer punish him by having Kim give him a black eye.
    • The Faction never considered that resurrecting a dangerous prehistoric monster like the Terakon would be a bad idea, especially when it proves uncontrollable. Danny even lampshades that Vlad never comes up with failsafes for his plans, especially since he failed to learn his lesson from the Ghost King and Vortex incidents.
    • Sam frees the Terrakon from Vlad and Drakken's control collars in the middle of a mall, focusing solely on the "poor, abused animal" and not considering the consequences of unleashing a large, obviously carnivorous animal in a populated area.
  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: In a sense, Danny fills the heroes in on what Frostbite revealed to him, that the asteroid which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs forced most of them to evolve into what is known today as dragons. The Terakons are described as their version of a Neanderthal.
  • Dirty Coward:
    • When caught by Lancer, Dash tries to pin the blame for the cooler incident entirely on Paulina by claiming it was all her idea, but she's already gone, and nobody believes him.
    • Dash prefers to pick on Danny when Kim isn’t around but runs away crying when she shows up. Even Ron and Rufus find him pathetic for being such a wimp.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Bonnie gets back at her mean older sisters by stealing their credit cards to pay for a hotel in Amity Park and taking embarrassing pictures of them when they’re covered in food after having having a food fight with each other.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: Drakken, acting as Vlad's closest partner in The Faction, is plotting to seize command of the Terakon horde. At the same time, the Terakon, a literal dragon, has its own agenda.
  • Disappeared Dad: Bonnie's father isn't around. Her parents are implied to have had a very messy divorce and it's also hinted to be part of the reason she acts out.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Danny finds it incredibly lame that Señor Senior, Sr. only turned to villainy out of sheer boredom to the point he considers him worse than the Box Ghost.
  • Doom Magnet: Sam gives this as an excuse to Tucker for spying on Kim and Danny's date because Kim tends to attract supervillains so she's concerned about Danny's well-being, despite him having powers.
  • Dude Magnet:
    • Danny, Tucker, and Dash are all very interested in Kim Possible.
    • Danny and Motor Ed make it clear they find Shego pretty.
    • Danny, Tucker, and Dash have noted Bonnie’s beauty.
  • Dumb Jock: Both Brick and Dash are this but it's much more obvious in the latter's case.
  • The Dragons Come Back: The main plot becomes Vlad working with Danny and Kim's villains to revive an army of dragons called Terakons for world domination. Unfortunately, the original Terakon reveals he's very much sentient and has his own plans.
  • The Dreaded: The Terakons, an ancient race of prehistoric dragons that even Pariah Dark feared. The one that Vlad revives ends up becoming this to Teams Phantom and Possible.
  • Easily Forgiven: Downplayed as it's not so much Danny forgives Bonnie for blackmailing him into being her boyfriend, but they've established some common ground and agreed to move on.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: As a result of being hit by a comet, Shego's skin is green-tinged.
  • Elite Mooks:
    • The Bebes serve as this to Drakken, especially after he upgrades them to become tough enough to handle Danny Phantom in a fight.
    • The Terakon is an even more dangerous example when it’s under the Faction’s control since it easily decimates the upgraded Bebes and shrugs off all the heroes' attacks; even Danny’s Ghost Wail doesn’t faze it.
  • Eloquent in My Native Tongue: In Rufus's mind, he speaks in a deep, eloquent voice and mannerisms.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Shego has the fighting skills to match expert combatants like Kim and can fire green Hand Blasts.
  • Enhanced Punch: Shego can use the plasma/ectoranium her hand generates to enhance her punches.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: Even though Drakken and Vlad are her bosses, Shego has very little patience for most of their harebrained schemes and obsession with petty grudges. She also felt this way about her brothers as she got tired of Hego's old-fashioned heroism and Mego's self-centeredness.
  • Entitled Bastard: Dash thinks being a quarterback makes him better than others and that Kim should grovel to him just for being one. Also, as far as he's concerned girls, especially pretty ones like Kim and Bonnie, are supposed to choose HIM over Danny and not the other way around just because he's a popular jock.
  • Entitled Bitch: Bonnie wants Danny to be hers, regardless of his opinion on the matter, and resorts to blackmailing him with his secret identity. She eventually drops this and settles for being friends with him, but remains intensely attracted to Danny.
  • Entitled to Have You:
    • As far as Dash is concerned, Kim should date him just because he’s a star quarterback.
    • Bonnie has shades of this towards Danny as she's very clingy and possessive with him to the point she goes to Amity Park to see him and outright blackmails him into dating her along with staying away from Kim. She later drops this attitude as they form something of a friendship.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Vlad and Skulker look away in disgust as the Terakon mercilessly devours a living, full-grown buck.
    • Drakken had been spying on Kim during her stay in Amity Park, though he is appalled when Shego asks if he spies on her in the bathroom, using the series' phrase "Sick and Wrong" to describe that.
    • The soon-to-be-named group of "The Faction" agree that Skulker's suggestion for a team name of "The Predators" sounds wrong given Danny and Kim are teenagers.
    • Even Kim acknowledges that Drakken is less petty than Vlad.
    • While Shego does think Danny's cute and is flattered by his crush on her, she'd never go out with a teenager, especially one that happens to be even younger than her Arch-Enemy Kim Possible.
    • Drakken does not like corporate shysters and he especially doesn’t approve of Jack Hench trying to claim credit for inventing the word "hench."
    • While Drakken respects Spectra and Bertrand’s desire for revenge on the heroes, he refuses to loan them the Terakon to do it since a creature that dangerous shouldn’t be used as an attack dog for something so petty, unlike Vlad. He only considers letting them borrow the Terakon if they bring the Faction any Terakon fossils.
    • One thing Shego doesn’t tolerate from Dr. Drakken is being cloned by him so she puts in a “no cloning” clause in her contract.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Kim makes it clear to Sam she doesn’t approve of her spying on the former and Danny while they’re together but she’ll keep this a secret from Danny since Sam is a good friend of his. However, she won’t tolerate anymore eavesdropping from Sam.
    • Jim and Tim might be desperate to hook up Kim and Danny but refuse to force their sister by using the emotion chip since they respect Danny's decision to get her to like him by choice.
    • Even Jim and Tim find Bonnie Rockwaller too nasty for their own liking.
    • Barkin doesn't tolerate bullying and, while substituting as a gym teacher at Casper High, he protects Danny from Dash's harassment and then punishes the jocks by making them run laps.
    • Mr. Lancer and Principal Ishiyama let Steve Barkin give the A-Listers a hard time while he’s substituting as a teacher at Casper High out of fear that he might report them for favoritism.
    • Despite her disdain for cheerleaders and jealousy toward any girl who catches Danny's interest, Sam quickly grows to respect Kim after she publicly defends Danny from the A-Listers more than once and even apologizes to her for her cold attitude.
    • Mr. Lancer normally sides with Dash and favors him. But after Dash throws a cooler full of grape juice in an attempt to publicly humiliate Kim and Danny takes the hit for her in the gymnasium, even Mr. Lancer is disgusted with him. Realizing Kim was right, he decides to let her beat Dash up.
    • Even though Danny finds her even less appealing than Paulina, he defends Bonnie from the verbal abuse she gets from her sisters by calling them out on not being as smart or pretty as they think they are.
    • While they usually pick on their sister when it comes to boys, Jim and Tim and pretty uncomfortable when Kim makes a Stalker Shrine for Danny while under a spell.
    • Bonnie quickly loses any interest in Dash Baxter after watching him bully Nathan by pelting him with trash, admitting that even she has standards on who she dates.
    • Nonnie may spoil her daughters but she won't tolerate Connie and Lonnie acting like children by having a food fight with each other.
    • Danny might be infatuated with Kim, but he refuses to take advantage of her while she's under a love spell and would prefer it if she liked him genuinely. Ron and Rufus respect Danny for his integrity.
    • Even Tucker doesn't like Bueno Nacho for selling processed, fake-themed Mexican food that was banned from Mexico.
    • Tucker immediately loses interest in Bonnie because of her unpleasant personality when she calls him a loser.
    • Sam hates Paulina the most of all the heroes, but she even considers Bonnie worse than the spoiled Hispanic brat.
    • Danny, Kim, and Rufus don't like Bonnie, but they don't approve of Ron's idea to have Danny overshadow Bonnie to make her date him.
    • Even Ron finds Jazz's battle banter lame.
  • Even the Dog Is Ashamed: Even Rufus thought it was pretty low of Ron to want Danny to overshadow Bonnie to make her agree to go out with him.
  • Everyone Can See It: Danny’s crush on Kim is super obvious, so much so it helped Kim figure out his identity.
  • Evil Counterpart: Connie and Lonnie Rockwaller are basically older, meaner, snobbier, and even less mature versions of Bonnie since they lack even her few redeeming qualities.
  • Evil Duo: Drakken and Shego are a variation of the usual dynamic — Shego just wants to fight and amuse herself (id) but is generally cool and collected (superego).
  • Evil Former Friend: Shego used to be part of Team Go, a superhero team with her four brothers.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Even when the Terakon goes on a rampage, Vlad still insists he can reclaim control over the beast. Kim calls him out on his refusal to see things have gone out of his reach.
    • Later, after the Terakon reveals his intelligence, Danny lampshades how Vlad never seems to have the idea to have a backup plan for when things go South despite his failures with Vortex, the current situation, etc., and calls him a moron.
  • Evil Is Petty: More "bitchy" than "evil" but Bonnie isn't above sabotaging Kim out of jealousy by stealing her homework assignment so she'll fail class and Bonnie will get the chance to replace her as squad captain. Danny doesn't believe even Paulina would stoop this low.
  • Eviler than Thou:
    • Team Phantom finds Bonnie even more rude, mean, snobby, underhanded, and selfish than Paulina.
    • Danny only had to meet Bonnie's sisters once to see that they're much worse than her.
    • Kim points out that Vlad is pettier than Drakken since the latter never stooped so low as to hurt a little girl like Dani.
  • Expecting Someone Taller: Upon meeting Danny Phantom, Drakken and Dementor each say they thought he'd be taller, to his annoyance.
  • Eye Scream: It turns out a Terakon was responsible for Pariah's scar and missing eye.
  • Face–Heel Turn: From Shego's backstory, she eventually betrayed Team Go.
  • Fallen Hero: Part of Shego's Backstory is that she used to be a superhero.
  • Family Theme Naming: Shego's similarly superpowered brothers are named "Hego," "Mego," and "Wego" (who're twins). They're all members of "Team Go." Go figure.
  • Fanboy: Wade is a huge one of Danny Phantom; he even asks Kim to get him Danny's autograph.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Shego's outfit is a green and black harlequin-dazzle pattern, with one glove and one boot in each color.
  • Fatal Flaw: For Vlad, it's his unbelievable ego as Danny lampshades, since he's too full of himself to learn from his mistakes or come up with a failsafe for his plans because he doesn't even consider that they could go badly, like with Pariah Dark or Vortex, and now the Terakon.
  • Favors for the Sexy: A downplayed, Rare Male Example. Danny uses Bonnie Rockwaller's infatuation for him to convince her to aid him in exchange for dates or make-out sessions with him.
  • Fiery Redhead: Inverted with Kim and Jazz, who are very levelheaded and mature despite being outspoken and strong-willed.
  • Foil:
    • Vlad and Drakken have been briefly compared to each other by Kim. Vlad Plasmius and Doctor Drakken both fight a teenage hero, are the former friends of their foes' fathers, and seek to Take Over the World. However, Vlad is a billionaire and hides his evil while Drakken has no secret identity and limited resources. Vlad can fight on his own while still employing allies. Drakken isn't a fighter so he relies solely on Shego. Finally, Vlad is more dangerous but is shown to much more petty than Drakken.
    • Then there is, of course, Sam and Kim. One is Danny's childhood friend who hates cheerleaders, the other is a new face who is a cheerleader. They're both capable in a fight, though Kim clearly has years more of experience in hand-to-hand. More importantly, both are secretly attracted to Danny. So far, Kim is the one Danny seems to favor.
    • Kim and Danny are both teen heroes juggling school work, family, and friends. The difference is that Kim is open about her heroics, while Danny has his Secret Identity. Kim is a Badass Normal, while Danny is a human/ghost hybrid Henshin Hero. Kim is an overachieving ace and popular cheerleader, while Danny is an underachieving slacker and social misfit. Kim has two brothers, while Danny has two sisters. Kim started her superhero career in her preteen years, while Danny has been fighting evil for at least two years. Kim fights relatively normal bad guys with hand-to-hand combat, and Danny fights ghosts and uses powers.
    • Paulina is this to Bonnie as both are Alpha Bitches who bully the heroes, develop a crush on Danny after he helped them, and take great pride in their beauty, social status, and cheerleading abilities, but that's where the similarities end. Paulina only likes Danny Phantom, while Bonnie becomes infatuated with Danny Fenton. Paulina doesn't know Danny's secret identity, but Bonnie does. Paulina comes from a wealthy family while Bonnie is closer to middle-class. Paulina is a shallow Spoiled Brat who admits she lacks any depth. Bonnie has a Big Ego, Hidden Depths as her home life is far from ideal, with two bullying older sisters and her father not around anymore. Also, Bonnie actually has standards when it comes to the boys she likes since she refuses to have anything to do with Big Jerk on Campus Dash Baxter. Danny initially had a crush on Paulina but lost interest when he realized how awful she was underneath her beauty. Danny initially wanted nothing to do with Bonnie as well because of her cruel personality but warmed up to her after seeing she was not all bad.
  • Forceful Kiss:
    • To coax him into working with her, Kim kisses Danny on the lips. Later, after they have a race together, Danny gets payback and kisses her on the lips.
    • Bonnie kisses Danny in order to get any attraction to him out of her system. It only makes her more into him.
    • Ember does this to Danny three times in one chapter. Two of those involved him being hypnotized.
  • Foreshadowing: The fact that Kim could easily figure out Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom have crushes on her showed she was very perceptive.
  • Force and Finesse: Danny is the “Force” and Kim is the “Finesse”. Danny’s ghost powers are much more destructive and he tends to rely on raw power. Kim uses her martial arts skills, gadgets, and wits to beat her enemies.
  • Fossil Revival: Vlad's master plan is to revive a Terakon, a prehistoric monster that was feared by Pariah Dark.
  • Freudian Excuse: Danny strongly suspects that Bonnie's mean attitude is a result of her awful home life.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Members of "the Faction" have complicated relationships with each other but nobody even PRETENDS that they like Motor Ed, and only let him join and stay for his mechanic knowledge.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Deconstructed with Sam since her love for animals causes her to think the Terakon is just some poor creature being abused by Vlad, so she frees it from his control. This only lets it go on an even more violent rampage, and even the Fright Knight spells it out to Sam that what she did was majorly idiotic because the Terakon is a dangerous monster.
  • From Bad to Worse: Kim and Danny's villains getting together to revive an army of prehistoric dragons for world domination was bad. What makes it worse is that it turns out the Terakons are sentient and the first one to be brought back to life, their king, has his own plans.
  • Full-Name Ultimatum: Chapter 69 features Bonnie's sisters receiving one from their mother
Mrs. Rockwaller: Consuela Marie and Leonarda Patricia Rockwaller! Stop this at once!
  • The Gadfly:
    • Bonnie likes to kiss Danny to piss off Kim.
    • Dash takes great pleasure in tormenting Danny and his friends.
  • Genre Savvy: Monkey Fist refuses to tell Kim about the Faction’s plans to bring back the Terakon because he’s not Drakken.
  • The Gentleman or the Scoundrel: Both Kim and Bonnie are drawn to the warmth, kindness, and heroism of Nice Guy Danny Fenton (Gentleman) but utterly despise the stupidity, bullying, and immaturity of the Big Jerk on Campus Dash Baxter (Scoundrel).
  • Girly Bruiser: The only thing Kim loves as much as fighting crime is trying on the latest fashion at Club Banana.
  • Give Geeks a Chance:
    • Bonnie admits that Danny is cute despite finding him to be a social loser.
    • In Bonnie's dream, Danny notices when she calls her court jester, Ron Stoppable, "mildly cute."
  • Gold Digger: Bonnie's interest in Danny grows after finding out about his ambition to become an astronaut and his superhero status. Subverted after she develops genuine feelings for him due to his personality.
  • Good Counterpart: Brick Flagg is this to Dash Baxter. Both are blonde football players who are not too bright and had an interest in Kim but that's all they have in common. Brick is a Lovable Jock who gets along well with the main characters and supports Kim's relationship with Danny since he got over her when she turned him down. Dash is a Big Jerk on Campus who bullies the main characters and harasses Kim after she rejects him, while all the main characters have nothing but disdain for him for being such a jerkass.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Kim has little tolerance for criminals or bullies, as Dash finds out the hard way when she personally manhandles him every time she catches him harassing Danny.
  • Grand Theft Me: Spectra overshadows Kim, thinking she's the perfect body for her. However, Kim's willpower was able to resist her in time.
  • Green-Eyed Monster:
    • Sam grows to greatly dislike Kim for being someone Danny is very attracted to, although she admits she doesn't hate Kim, since the latter doesn't like Dash and Paulina either.
    • Bonnie grew jealous of Danny and Kim's closeness, wanting to steal him for herself.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Gender-Inverted. Kim relies on close-quarters combat while Danny prefers to use Hand Blasts.
  • Has a Type:
  • Hate at First Sight:
    • Kim has disliked the A-Listers, especially Dash and Paulina, since she first saw them bully Mikey, making her realize they're just jerks who use their social status to get away with mocking others and refuse to associate with them. It evolves to full-blown hatred when she sees Paulina is a carbon copy of Bonnie Rockwaller, and Jerk Jock Dash Baxter won't stop harassing her and her new friends, Team Phantom.
    • Danny and Bonnie couldn't stand each other at first since he saw her only as a meaner version of Paulina and she just regarded him as Kim's loser admirer. Though after Danny helps her with her mean older sisters, they grow closer to the point they're starting to consider each other friends.
    • Sam and Tucker have hated Bonnie since first meeting her after seeing that she's an even ruder and snobbier version of Paulina. Tucker did think she was hot and wanted to flirt with her, but lost interest when she insulted him.
    • Ron and Monique immediately despise Dash for being a total jerk when he harasses Kim and Danny. They cheer when Kim tosses Dash into a water fountain.
  • Hated by All: Nobody but the A-Listers can stand Dash Baxter, and even they only put up with him for his looks and athleticism. Kim and her friends instantly despise him for being an obnoxious bully, Team Phantom prefer to avoid him at all times, Lancer stops favoring him after he goes too far by trying to prank Kim with the cooler, and even Bonnie doesn’t want anything to do with him for being an immature creep.
  • Hate Sink: Dash and Bonnie's older sisters, Connie and Lonnie, are never given a positive quality and simply exist to be hated by the cast.
  • Hate Plague: The Rage Pearl induces uncontrollable rage towards the first person the victim sees. Only something that causes joy can free them, like when Kim kissed Danny on the lips.
  • Head-Turning Beauty:
    • Kim is very attractive, and most boys, including Danny, are drawn to her once they see her. Danny even fell back down in awe when he first bumped into Kim.
    • Bonnie is also this as Danny, Tucker, and Dash all find her attractive.
    • Shego is a villainous version as both Danny and Motor Ed (much to her amusement with the former and disgust with the latter) consider her gorgeous.
  • Height Angst: Kim's villains and Bonnie comment on how much shorter Danny is than Kim. It gets annoying for him to the point where he threatens to harm Falsetto Jones for almost finishing that sentence.
  • Held Gaze: When Danny met Kim, he stared longingly into her eyes before she reminded him he had to get to class.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Danny learns that Bonnie's life is far less ideal than she makes others believe as she has two emotionally abusive older sisters and her father isn't around.
    • Bonnie values more than just looks and popularity in a guy as she doesn't hesitate to reject Dash Baxter for cruelly and childishly bullying Nathan.
    • Shego shows she has some knowledge of psychology when she persuades Drakken to manipulate the Bebes to do his bidding by using reverse psychology.
  • Homeless Hero: Dani has been living on the streets to avoid Vlad. She can’t stay with the Fentons since Vlad will easily find her with them and Danny can’t tell his family about her because he wouldn’t know how to explain who she is.
  • Hopeless Suitor:
    • Tucker tries to hit on Kim and Monique... with his usual results.
    • Dash doesn’t have a chance with Kim or Bonnie since they find him way too obnoxious and immature.
    • Despite her good looks, Bonnie doesn’t have a shot with Danny, who vastly prefers Kim. Somewhat downplayed as he does warm up to her thanks to their growing friendship and would consider dating her after they get to know each other better.
  • Humble Hero:
    • Despite being a beautiful cheerleader and world-famous teen hero who tends to be "braggy" about her skills, Kim never acts like she’s better than anyone and just sees herself as a “basic, average girl”.
    • Danny couldn’t care less about all the recognition he gets from his superhero exploits since he prefers to be just a regular teenager.
  • Humble Parent, Spoiled Kids: Nonnie Rockwaller is a Nice Girl in contrast to her three spoiled, jerkass daughters.
  • Hunter of His Own Kind:
    • Danny is a half-ghost who fights other ghosts to protect Amity Park. Danny is a brutal hunter, who usually throws the first punch, but he is merciful towards ghosts that aren’t threatening his town and the world.
    • Skulker is a villainous example since he’s a ghost who hunts other ghosts purely for sport and profit.
  • Hypocrite:
    • Bonnie wants Danny, despite giving Kim a lot of flak due to him being younger than her. She also seems not to want to admit her feelings in public.
    • Danny calls out Barkin dismissing Ron's masculinity for Kim saving his life, since he needed Kim to rescue him the night before.
    • Kim calls Sam out on this for getting mad at Danny when he spied on her and Gregor, but she has no problem spying on Danny when he's with Kim.

    I-Y
  • Idiot Ball:
    • Dash and Paulina get the not-so-bright idea to humiliate Kim in public by trying to throw with a cooler full of grape juice at her in the gymnasium. Not only does it fail since Danny took the blow for her but Lancer punishes Dash (Paulina already fled, leaving Dash to take all the heat).
    • Sam grabs this big time for thinking it's a good idea to free a creature as dangerous as the Terakon from Vlad's control. Jazz and the Fright Knight call her out on this.
  • I Have Your Wife: Drakken and Skulker manage to force James to give them the password to a satellite they need by using the twins as a bargaining chip.
  • "I Know You Are in There Somewhere" Fight:
    • Danny tries this when Kim is possessed by Spectra. It works.
    • Kim later returns the favor when Danny is under the influence of the Rage Pearl but ends up having to kiss him because of how the pearl works.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Bonnie finds it attractive that Danny has the nerve to talk back to her since she hasn’t encountered a guy like that before.
  • Imagine Spot:
    • When Danny finds Kim at his front door, he imagines her confessing her love for him and they almost kiss. He has another daydream while unintentionally spying on her at Middleton High.
    • Kim has a brief daydream about going on a date with Danny after she starts to question her own feelings for him.
    • Bonnie daydreams about a successful Danny romancing her over Kim, only to snap out of it when Tara notices.
  • Inconvenient Attraction: Danny finds Bonnie beautiful but has little tolerance for her unpleasant attitude and prefers Kim because of his growing feelings for her. Meanwhile, Bonnie is confused on why she’s falling for a social misfit like Danny who is pining after her rival Kim Possible.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Bonnie acts like your typical Alpha Bitch, but her relationship with her older sisters shows she's much more insecure than she lets on, which may be the reason she acts the way she does.
  • In Love with Looks:
    • Dash only hits on Kim and Bonnie because they’re gorgeous cheerleaders.
    • Vlad is fixated on Maddie for her beauty.
  • Innocently Insensitive:
    • Sam genuinely wants to help Rufus but doesn’t notice that he dislikes her for acting like a jerk to his best friend Ron by accusing him of being a bad owner.
    • Ron means well but has a habit of shooting his mouth off without thinking, like telling Danny Kim would only kiss him if his life depended on it. Danny does not appreciate it.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Danny is worried that Kim is too good for him because she's a beautiful and popular cheerleader who doesn't need powers to be awesome, but Kim assures him that she's far from perfect; she admits she can't cook.
  • Insistent Terminology:
    • When Danny first meets the monkey ninjas, he asks Kim if they're ninja monkeys and she replies, "monkey ninjas".
    • Danielle questions why Sam calls herself an "ultra-recyclo vegetarian" instead of a vegan. Sam says it's because vegan is too mainstream, while Danielle states it's less of a mouthful or "pretentious".
  • It's All About Me: Dash’s ego can't stand any girl picking Danny over him, especially beautiful ones like Kim and Bonnie.
  • It Amused Me: At the Amity Park Mall, this is Dash’s reason for bullying Nathan by flinging trash at him at the mall. Even Bonnie finds him unbearably obnoxious for doing something so immature.
  • It Can Think: The Terakon frequently shows it's much smarter than it leads on.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: The Terakon doesn't like being called "it".
  • It Must Be Mine!: Bonnie is willing to resort to blackmailing Danny into dating her. She eventually drops this attitude and settles for being friends with him.
  • It's All About Me: Bonnie always puts her own priorities above everything else, even the world. Danny has to promise her a date and a kiss to convince her to help him.
  • It's Personal: By making her almost harm Ron thanks to the Rage Pearl, Vlad goes from another bad guy to Kim to someone she really wants to take down.
  • Jerkass:
    • Dash is this as usual but it really says something that even Bonnie can't stand him despite her preference for popular jocks.
    • Connie and Lonnie are even crueler and more selfish than Bonnie.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • While not really a jerkass, Kim is correct that Dash shouldn't be given a free pass for his bullying just because of his football skills, and it's the school's job to punish him for harming students. Lancer eventually admits Kim was right about Dash's attitude being a problem when he goes too far by throwing a cooler full of grape juice in an attempt to humiliate her publicly, and Danny takes the hit for Kim in the gymnasium. Lancer decides to stop being unfairly lenient and punishes Dash for the cooler incident by letting Kim beat him up.
    • Bonnie is right to call Dash out on his immaturity for finding it funny to pelt Nathan with trash at the Amity Park Mall.
    • Jazz is understandably furious at Sam for endangering Team Phantom for the sake of her personal agenda by recklessly freeing the Terakon from Vlad's control, which causes it to go on an even more destructive rampage. Jazz makes it clear that there will be consequences for Sam if she tries another stunt like that, and she's not going to let Sam weasel her way out of taking responsibility for her actions, going as far as to threaten to feed the latter to the Terakon.
    • Dani points out to Tucker that Sam has no right to be jealous and upset over Danny spending time with Kim because she doesn't own Danny, nor is she entitled to him, so he can hang out with any girl he wants. Tucker agrees with her; he just tells her not to say that around Sam.
    • Team Go understandably disapproves of Danny's crush on their sister Shego since, ignoring that they're on opposite sides of the moral spectrum, he's too young for her because he is a teenager and she is a grown woman.
    • Bonnie is right about Danny being younger than her and Kim.
    • Team Phantom are not jerkasses but they point out to Danny he's never going to be with Shego because she's too evil and too old for him.
    • While Sam is mainly spying on Kim and Danny's date out of jealousy, she is right when she tells Tucker that Kim is a supervillain magnet since she has a lot of enemies and no secret identity to protect herself, so Kim and Danny can get attacked by her bad guys at any moment. Thus, Sam is justified in worrying about Danny's safety regardless of him having powers since he's still their best friend. At one point, Kim's enemies do attack them while they're on a date and hold Danny hostage.
  • Jerkass Realization: In chapter 8, Mr. Lancer realizes that Kim was right about Dash when the latter's attempt to publicly humiliate her is foiled by Danny. He decides to no longer play favorites because of Dash's football skills as it's let him get away with too much.
  • Jerk Jock: Dash is so bad even Bonnie wants nothing to do with him for being too immature for her tastes.
  • Jerkwith A Heartof Gold: Steve Barkin is very tough but genuinely caring towards his students as he helps Danny by getting him medical attention after his fight with the Terakons, agrees to keep quiet about his superhero identity as thanks for saving him from the Terakons, and protects him from Dash’s bullying while substituting as a teacher at Casper High.
  • Just a Kid: Kim politely turns down Danny's crush by pointing out she's 2 years older than him. However, his continued heroism causes her to change her opinion.
  • The Juggernaut: Nothing the heroes throw at the Terakon slows it down. Even Danny's Ghostly Wail isn't effective on it.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty:
    • Kim's presence causes Dash's bullying to finally be challenged. He ends up getting in trouble and his bully victims rebel against him.
    • This happens to the rest of the A-Listers when Barkin begins subbing for several of their classes. He might be a hard-ass, but he's an equal opportunity hard-ass.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: Dash pays for his unpleasant attitude by getting roughed up by karma in the form of constantly being beaten up and humiliated by Kim, getting rejected by Bonnie in public, his bullying victims taking revenge, and getting in trouble at school.
  • Kid Sidekick: Two police officers mistakenly think Danielle is Danny's little sister and new sidekick when they foil a crime.
  • Kissing Under the Influence:
    • While under Ember's spell, Kim kisses Danny repeatedly.
    • While she has him under her control, Ember takes advantage and kisses Danny twice. He admits he wouldn't have had an issue if he wasn't forced to do it.
Kim: You'd have kissed Ember if she didn't force you to?
Danny: To be honest Kim, evil aside, she is kinda hot.
  • Knight of Cerebus: The original Terakon dragon is a powerful and frightening beast, moreso than any of Danny or Kim's bad guys. Then his name, Thirorex, gets revealed, along with his sapience and own ambitions for world domination. He also kills the inhabitants of a lost island.
  • Lack of Empathy: Lancer and Principal Ishiyama don't care if Dash is bullying Kim and Danny because they favor him for his football skills and try to punish Kim for throwing Dash onto a cafeteria table. They only care when she forces them to by threatening to use her media connections to expose that the Casper High staff is turning a blind eye to bullying unless they punish Dash with detention, which they do to avoid having the school's reputation ruined. This is subverted when Dash tries to throw a water cooler full of grape juice at Kim in public as Lancer considers it crossing the line, so he lets Kim give Dash a black eye as revenge.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: After Thirorex revives the other Terakons, he uses the Mind's Diamond to erase their memories of how he was responsible for their extinction.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Kim throws Dash onto a cafeteria table and later twists his arm in the principal's office when he tries to hit Danny during both those times.
    • Kim later gives Dash a black eye after he tries to throw a cooler's contents onto her.
    • Danny gets Bonnie's older sisters grounded by their mom for the weekend by making them get into a food fight with each other.
  • Legion of Doom: To defeat both Danny Phantom and Kim Possible, while also collecting more Terakon fossils, Vlad forms a team of their villains together. After a few suggestions of a group name, he insists of "The Faction" since it's simpler.
  • Let's See YOU Do Better!: When Kim describes Paulina's cheerleading as "pretty basic", Paulina dares Kim to out-cheer her. Kim accepts the challenge and wins.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Twice does Kim get into a fight with Danny Phantom when she mistakes him of committing misdoings. After the second, she pieces together he’s a good guy.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again:
    • Sam has told Danny and Tucker to never mention the incident with "Gregor" ever again.
    • Danny and Kim both agree to never remind each other of being stuck in the box, with the heavy implications Kim was feeling something from Danny that wasn't his pen.
    • Ron and Rufus agree to never speak of when Kim made a Stalker Shrine for Danny under Ember's spell ever again.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black:
    • Kim notes that Drakken is less petty than Vlad.
    • Even Bonnie finds Dash immature for bullying a student by throwing trash at him.
    • Danny finds Bonnie's older sisters to be even more horrible and unbearable than she is because of how emotionally abusive they are to her.
  • Like Mother, Unlike Daughter: Unlike her snobby daughters, Nonnie Rockwaller is a very pleasant and jovial lady.
  • Likes Older Women: Kim is 2 years older than Danny and he is smitten with her. He also has a crush on Shego, who is at least a decade older.
  • Lovable Jock: Danny is completely flabbergasted by how genial Brick Flagg is despite being the star quarterback of Middleton High School's football team.
  • Love at First Sight: Danny falls for Kim as soon as he sees her.
  • Love Dodecahedron: Danny falls for Kim, who wasn't interested at first but grew attached to him. Kim's best friend is Ron, who has yet to realize his feelings for Kim. At the same time, Danny has a crush on Shego, who is too old and evil for him. Sam has hidden feelings for Danny, Paulina is interested in Danny Phantom, Bonnie has a growing interest in Danny Fenton, Danny believes a rumor that Star has a crush on him and Ember reveals she has a thing for him.
  • Love Potion: Ember uses her guitar's love powers on Danny and Kim. Danny had the Fenton Phones on and so was unaffected. Kim, who wasn't wearing them, falls head over heel in love with him.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Bonnie finds it attractive that Danny has the nerve to talk back to her since she hasn't encountered a guy like that before.
  • Loving Bully: Bonnie acts rude to Danny to hide her attraction to him.
  • A Man Is Always Eager: Downplayed with Danny as while he enjoys making out with attractive girls like Bonnie and Kim (even while Kim's under the effects of Ember’s love song), he refuses to take it any further than that and won’t advantage of a lady, such as when Kim is brainwashed into loving him by Ember’s love song.
  • Man of Kryptonite: Shego's powers in this story are said to be derived from ectoranium, which is a kryptonite for ghosts. This makes her one of Kim's few villains to be a potential threat to Danny.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Shego encourages Drakken to manipulate the Bebes into obeying him by using reverse psychology and playing on their pride to motivate them to upstage the Terakon by defeating Kim and Danny.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy:
    • Bonnie is cold, rude, selfish, and ruthless while Danny is warm, polite, considerate, and compassionate.
    • Shego is considerably more aggressive and physical than her boss Drakken who is a Large Ham Non-Action Guy.
  • McNinja: When Kim tells Danny that Monkey Fist's monkey ninjas are trained in Kung-Fu, Danny points out ninjas are Japanese and Kung-Fu is a Chinese martial art.
  • Meet Cute: The chapter where Danny and Kim first meet is called this, and their meeting is the accidental crashing kind.
  • Miles Gloriosus: Dash regularly acts like he's braver and more capable than he really is but he’s usually the first one to run from danger, especially if it’s ghosts or Kim.
  • Morality Pet: Danny acts as one to Bonnie as she's nicer when he's involved.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless:
    • Kim has the build of an average teenage girl but is strong enough to easily toss people bigger than her like Dash and Skulker (in his mech suit).
    • Danny has been noted to be a rather short and lanky teenager but his ghost form has super strong as he’s able to beat opponents larger than him like Kim, Shego, Vlad, and Skulker (in his mech suit).
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: Whenever Kim admits to not liking Bueno Nacho that much to Danny, Ron, who is still miles away from her, senses that something is wrong.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Team Go find it rather unsettling that Danny, who is 14, thinks their evil sister Shego is hot. Granted, they know he's too young and heroic for her, but they aren't fond of him thinking that.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Drakken needing James to get access to something top-secret is straight from So The Drama.
    • Ron assuming the villains are up to something only he considers evil, while the rest don't, is from the first season episode "Crush". In this case, he genuinely thought evil dragons wanted to steal cartoons, only for Vlad to inform him that isn't the plan at all.
Ron: YOU'LL NEVER TAKE OUR CARTOONS AWAY, YOU MONSTER!
    (Beat)
Vlad: Cartoons? These are beasts from before the dawn of mankind! What could they possibly care about animated programming, you buffoon?!
  • Named by the Adaptation:
    • Kim's Nana never has her first name revealed in the series or its film adaptation. In this story, her full name is Kimberly Joan Possible, meaning Kim was named after her.
    • Bonnie's mother, who was unnamed in the series, is named Nonnie Rockwaller here.
  • Never Mess with Granny: Per Kim's suggestion, Danny spars with her Nana. Even in ghost form, Danny gets taken down rather quickly. Nana admits he's not the first superhero she's ever faced, and not the toughest either.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: While giving Danny a Forceful Kiss, Bonnie feels his chest and finds herself pleasantly surprised that he has some muscle despite his lanky appearance.
  • Never My Fault:
    • Dash gets angry at Danny for his humiliation by Kim, while he's been called out for his relentless bullying.
    • Sam tries to deflect blame for letting the Terakon go out of control by freeing it from Vlad by saying, "How was I supposed to know?", but Jazz is having none of that since she won't let Sam refuse to take responsibility and outright threatens to feed her to the Terakon if she pulls a stunt like this again.
    • Dash is too stupid and full of himself to realize that his own boorish and immature personality makes Kim and Bonnie find him so repulsive.
  • Nice Girl: Nonnie is this in contrast to her spoiled, stuck-up daughters.
  • Nice Guy: Brick Flagg is this to the point Danny actually pities him for dating someone as overbearing as Bonnie despite being a jock.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: Danny's love interests have this dynamic: Kim is the Nice since she's the most mature and friendly, Bonnie is the Mean since she's the most rude and harsh, and Sam is the In-Between since she's not as friendly as Kim but easier to get along with than Bonnie.
  • No Guy Wants an Amazon: Dash has developed a habit of running away from Kim whenever she stands up to his bullying.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased:
    • Danny would prefer to avoid Bonnie so as not to deal with her clinginess.
    • Downplayed with Kim as Danny is still very attracted to her while she’s infatuated with him due to being under the effects of Ember’s love song, but her aggressive flirting and increasingly clingy behavior disturbs him.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: When Freakshow meets Dani Phantom, finding out there are two Danny Phantoms, he has this reaction out of disbelief.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Unlike the other villains, Drakken isn’t a fighter as he lacks powers and training so he relies on his Dragon Shego to handle any situations involving combat.
  • Non-Action Guy: Ron and Dr. Drakken prefer to leave all fighting to Kim and Shego, respectively.
  • No-Sell: Danny finds his Ghostly Wail has no effect on the Terakon.
  • Not Good with Rejection:
    • Dash reacts to Kim turning him down by trying to publicly throw a cooler's contents onto her.
    • Bonnie dislikes it when the target of her desires rejects her advances.
  • No Sense of Personal Space:
    • Kim enjoys getting really close to Danny while under the effects of Ember's love song.
    • Bonnie also loves giving Danny Forceful Kisses, much to his irritation.
  • Not So Above It All: Yori is very dedicated to her ninja training, but she couldn't resist going to the carnival once Danny mentioned that Ron was going. She's also revealed to have dabbled in Animology.
  • "Not So Different" Remark:
    • Kim notes that Danny reminds her of her best friend, Ron Stoppable, except Danny is more mature and less of a social misfit despite being younger.
    • Team Phantom and Kim can't help but notice the similarities between Bonnie Rockwaller and Paulina Sanchez, since they're both spoiled, snobby Alpha Bitches and Cruel Cheerleaders that only care about their looks and popularity.
    • Vlad hates Ron Stoppable because he considers him to be just as much of a buffoon as Jack Fenton.
    • Danny just considers Professor Dementor a shorter Dr. Drakken with a funny accent but with no hot but evil henchwomen like Shego.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Thirorex claims he wants to wipe out the human race to return the Earth to its rightful rulers, when in fact he's just a bully who likes to be in command, considering he isn't very empathetic to even his own kind.
  • Odd Friendship: Danny and Bonnie develop this when they start hanging out, especially after he helps her deal with her mean older sisters.
  • Offended by an Enemy's Indifference:
    • Dash can't stand that Kim and Bonnie ignore him in favor of Danny.
    • Professor Dementor is outraged that Danny Phantom has never heard of him despite being the number one supervillain in the world (Kim claims it’s more of a self-proclaimed title).
  • Offended by an Inferior's Success:
    • It enrages Dash to no end that beautiful girls like Kim and Bonnie vastly prefer Danny over him.
    • Bonnie is intensely jealous of Danny's infatuation with Kim.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. Danny encounters the Dash from Team Impossible, finding another person by that name who is a jerk.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Jazz is the most mature and levelheaded of Team Phantom, but becomes scarily angry with Sam for unwittingly setting the Terakon on a rampage by freeing it from Vlad’s control. She even threatens to feed Sam to the Terakon if she does anything like that again.
  • Open-Minded Parent: Sam is stunned and jealous to see how casual Kim's parents are in regards to her teen hero career, to the point of letting her spend a week by herself in a different city.
  • Operation: Jealousy: When Dash first flirted with Bonnie, she was originally going to give him a chance partly because she was attracted to him for being a jock and partly as a means to make Danny jealous. Subverted as she abandons the idea when he turns out to be too immature for her standards after watching him bully a guy by pelting him with trash.
  • Or Are You Just Happy to See Me?: Kim accidentally falls on Danny at one point. She feels something poking into her and Danny reveals it's his pen. Later, they get trapped in a box by the Guys in White and when Kim feels something poking in her thigh, she asks (hopes) that Danny put his pen in his pocket. He reveals, much to her chagrin, his jumpsuit has no pockets.
  • Original Generation: The Terakons are creatures created for this fanfiction crossover and not part from either show's canon.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: The Terakons are the Neanderthals of dragons, as they still have elements of dinosaurs in their designs.
  • Paper Tiger: Dash is a muscular bully but Kim only regards him as a nuisance that’s easy to scare away and even easier to beat up.
  • Parents as People: Nonnie loves her daughters but tends to spoil them and doesn't realize how cruel they can be. Although she does have limits and will punish them for inappropriate behavior.
  • Parental Obliviousness: Nonnie Rockwaller doesn't seem to be aware of how awful her daughters are or that Connie and Lonnie bully Bonnie.
  • Peerless Love Interest: Danny feels this way about Kim since she's a beautiful and popular straight-A student and go-getting cheerleader who doesn't need powers or tech to beat up ghosts thanks to being a Badass Normal. However, Kim assures Danny that he's amazing too since he was willing to save her from the Fright Knight even without powers and she's far from perfect herself, given her Lethal Chef tendencies.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Kim is always quick to defend Danny from Dash’s bullying.
    • While Bonnie has an admittedly low opinion of Brick's intelligence as she does with Dash's, she does recognize that, unlike the Jerk Jock, Brick has redeeming qualities like his nice, laid-back attitude.
    • Bonnie stands up for Danny when Paulina bothers him.
    • While working as a substitute gym teacher at Casper High, Barkin defends Danny from Dash's bullying and punishes the jocks by making them run laps.
    • Mr. Barkin doesn't hesitate to carry an unconscious Danny to a hospital after his battle with the Terakons left him injured in "Amity at War Part 1".
    • Mr. Barkin agrees to keep Danny's superhero identity a secret out of gratitude for saving him from the Terakons.
    • Kim got Global Justice to pay for Mr. Barkin's car repairs in exchange for his silence.
    • Kim's parents figure out Danny's secret identity and agree to remain silent about it because he's obviously a good kid.
    • Jim and Tim actually try to help Kim and Danny hook up by making sure their date goes well instead of teasing and pranking their sister on her dates like they usually do because they like Danny and would love to have a superhero as a brother-in-law someday.
    • Bonnie of all people is disgusted that Dash would throw trash at Nathan for fun at the mall and calls him a loser for being so immature.
    • After Kim forces her to stop blackmailing Danny, Bonnie forms a genuine friendship with him that makes her give up on wanting to make Danny date her and agrees to keep his identity a secret.
    • Danny helps out Bonnie by tricking her older sisters into starting a food fight with each other so their mom will punish them by grounding them and they'll have to leave Bonnie alone.
    • Bonnie defends Danny from her older sisters' insults.
    • Kim and Danny protect Dani while Vlad is hunting her down.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: While Danny isn't pint-sized, characters have commented on him being on the short side, especially when compared to taller teenagers like Kim and Bonnie. Still, his ghost powers make him powerful enough to beat opponents bigger than him like Kim, Shego, Vlad, Skulker (in his mech suit), and the Fright Knight.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: Unlike Paulina, Kim averts all the negative stereotypes associated with cheerleaders, being very smart, levelheaded, and friendly, and proves to be much better at the sport than her.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Yori attacks Danny Phantom because Ron didn’t explain that he’s a friend. Danny, Kim, and Rufus call Ron out on this.
  • Potty Failure: Spending at least 2 chapters trapped in a classroom before anyone let him out, Barkin had to use the restroom and had to relieve himself. It's left ambiguous if it was number one or two, but Kim and Danny were both grossed out nonetheless.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Danny gets involved in scenarios of almost seeing Kim changing thanks to his powers, but always stops himself from going through with it, usually out of embarrassment or shame.
  • Properly Paranoid: Kim has Wade do a background check on Vlad Masters because she's curious and suspicious of the guy.
  • Proud Beauty: Both Bonnie and Paulina are this to the point they get into an argument over who's prettier.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Kim uses her iconic "puppy-dog pout" to get Danny, Sam and Tucker to agree to let her keep an eye on Danny. Sam's scowling and Tucker's attempts at flirtation have no effect on her, and Danny tries using invisibility but even that doesn't get her to stop. They give in.
  • Precocious Crush: Danny has an obvious attraction to Shego, who is at least a decade older than him.
  • Predecessor Villain: Danny's recalling of what Frostbite told him mentioned the first Ghost King, stating Pariah Dark was in fact the sixth. All he got was this king had an interest in the Terakons and his unknown fate led to them becoming a danger.
  • Prehistoric Monster: The Terakon is a large dinosaur-like dragon and is treated as a terrifying beast.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure:
    • Dr. Director of Global Justice takes an interest in Danny Phantom, using her higher authority to forbid the Guys in White from attacking him, as she sees he'd be better suited as an ally than an enemy.
    • Mr. Steven Barkin is a very strict but fair teacher who cares about all students equally and will punish anyone who acts out, like making Dash run laps in gym class for bullying Danny.
  • Rejection Affection: Turns out, rejecting Bonnie's advances makes her more eager.
  • Rescue Romance: Danny saving her from the Fright Knight without his powers causes Kim to start being drawn to him.
  • Reverse Psychology: In Chapter 43, Drakken tries this upon Shego's suggestion to convince the Bebes to work for him again. It works.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: While Danny recognizes he has no shot with Shego, he says it's because she's evil. Sam and Jazz point out that, while that is a good reason, it's not the reason. Tucker thinks it's because their kids won't know which parent's footsteps to follow.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Inverted. Kim threatens to use her personal connections to force Principal Ishiyama and Mr. Lancer to enforce the rules and punish Dash.
  • Scarpia Ultimatum: Bonnie gives a G-rated version to Danny by threatening to expose his secret identity if he doesn't date her and stay away from Kim Possible. She backs off when Kim threatens to tell Bonnie's family that she stole her older sisters' credit cards to purchase a hotel room in Amity Park.
  • Selective Enforcement: Deconstructed as Lancer and Principal Ishiyama get into trouble for this when they try to punish Kim per Dash's request as payback for standing up to him until she blackmails them into giving Dash detention by threatening to reveal to the world that Casper High favors the popular kids and lets them get away with bullying. Lancer and Principal Ishiyama give in to Kim's demands to avoid any scandals ruining the school's name.
  • Servile Snarker: Shego is even more sarcastic with her bosses, Dr. Drakken and Vlad Plasmius, than anyone else, as she frequently insults them for their egos and petty vendettas.
  • Shadow Archetype: Kim has two in Shego and Bonnie:
    • Shego: She has all of Kim's beauty and fighting prowess but none of her morals, and has a very strained relationship with her brothers.
    • Bonnie: Well, more "bitchy" than "evil," but Bonnie is Kim if she thought her looks and skills made her superior to others and had a much less stable home life.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love:
    • Dash is too dense to grasp why beautiful girls like Kim and Bonnie would prefer an unpopular Nice Guy like Danny Fenton over a popular Jerk Jock like himself.
    • Paulina is too snobby to understand why a cheerleader like Kim would hang out with Danny Fenton.
    • Bonnie tries to rationalize her attraction to Danny because of his potential to become a successful astronaut, and when she finds out about his secret identity, she thinks it's because of his powers and status as a popular superhero. She eventually drops her shallowness and falls for Danny's kind character, especially when he helps her deal with her troublesome older sisters.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Danny insists that Kim isn’t his girlfriend when Jazz teases him over his crush on her.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Many for Danny and Kim.
      • Jazz is very vocal about thinking Danny and Kim would make a good couple. When Danny is hit with the Rage Pearl and Kim kisses him to free him, Jazz is the only one who is overjoyed. When Kim falls under the spell, Jazz even suggests Danny kiss her.
      • Danielle went to Kim for aid because she thought the latter was Danny's girlfriend. She then suggests the two go looking for the bad guys together, hoping they turn it into a date.
      • Jim and Tim seem to ship Danny and Kim, being excited at the thought of having a superhero for a brother-in-law.
      • Joss is excited to learn her new hero, Danny Phantom, is friends with her favorite cousin. She immediately starts pestering them on whether or not they are a couple.
      • Brick Flagg thinks Kim and Danny make a cute couple.
      • Kim's parents support her relationship with Danny because they can see that he's a good guy.
    • Nonnie likes Danny and would be fine if he dated her daughter Bonnie.
  • Shipper with an Agenda:
    • While Jim and Tim like Danny and want his relationship with Kim to go well, the Tweebs partly support them because they find the idea of having a superhero for a brother-in-law awesome.
    • Realizing that Danny likes Kim, Vlad decides to create scenarios that bring them together so that his plan will be easier than he thought.
    • Danny at first to get Ron and Yori together, solely so he can have Kim for himself. He quickly realizes that it's a bit underhanded.
  • Ship Tease:
    • Danny and Kim bond a lot, causing a mutual attraction between the two. Kim suggests becoming kissing buddies to alleviate their attraction, but it only strengthens it.
    • Danny actually gets this twice more, once with Ember, although that mostly plateaus at their fight banter becoming more flirtatious and occasional kissing as Danny, while finding her attractive, is unwilling to commit to anything with her whilst she's still evil, which Ember finds fair. The other is with Bonnie, which curiously enough appears to be progressing, with Danny helping her out with her sisters, gradually shedding his dislike of her and admitting that he'd consider dating Bonnie if they become friends first.
    • Jazz and Brick develop an interest in each other when meeting for the first time.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Danny once calls Monkey Fist "Furious George".
    • Kim and Danny are having noodles and realize they're eating the same noodle. Kim says, "that's something you don't see happening to anyone but cartoon dogs".
    • The Terakons were inspired by the Predacons of Transformers: Prime, especially with the primary Terakon whose introduction is similar to Predaking. Unlike Predaking, the Terakon seems genuinely malicious.
    • Danny refers to Team Go when they mistakenly think he's a villain as the Power Rangers.
    • In Chapter 50, when Mr. Barkin mistakes the Specter Speeder for an alien ship, Ron comments that ""Aliens live in Hawaii, not Middleton".
    • Drakken brings up that the 90's got some facts about dinosaurs wrong.
    • During the first fight with the Terakon, Danny calls it Dragon Heart.
    • Danny visiting Rufus's dreams is based on an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.
    • The chapter where Kim and Danny thwart Dementor's attempt at cloning Terrakons is a reference to an episode of Samurai Jack.
  • Sick and Wrong: Drakken describes spying on Kim in the bathroom as this.
  • Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy: Bonnie becomes even more interested in Danny after finding out his secret as she rationalizes her crush on an outcast Nice Guy like him based on being a popular superhero in secret.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Danny and Kim only really display interest in each other, although Danny does admit that Bonnie, Shego, and Ember are hot despite their antagonistic attitudes.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man:
    • Kim ends up developing an interest in Danny, seeing him as a heroic and friendly Nice Guy rather than a boy younger than her. It helps that he admires her for own heroism and good deeds.
    • This also applies to Alpha Bitch Bonnie as she starts to develop feelings for Danny when he defends her from her mean older sisters' verbal abuse.
  • Slasher Smile: One indication that the Terakon isn't a mindless beast is that it gives a toothy grin to people it tries to kill.
  • Skewed Priorities: Even if the fate of the world was at stake, Bonnie would always put her own needs first as Danny needs to bribe her into helping him by offering her dates and make-out sessions.
  • Smarter Than You Look:
    • Kim's enemies are observant enough to notice a vague similarity between Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom.
    • Kim's parents may act oblivious but they're still scientists and thus observant enough to figure out Danny's secret identity because they noticed Danny Phantom showed up in Middleton and worked with Kim around the same time as Danny Fenton came, plus the two boys have the same body type, hair style, and names.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Sam makes her animal rights views as clear as possible whenever she can. She became hostile to Ron regarding Rufus, not realizing at first Rufus despises her for how she treats his best friend. Then, Sam thinks setting the Terakon free would show it mercy and is horrified to learn it's a natural killing machine that went on a rampage when let loose.
  • Social Media Before Reason: Drakken posted information on the Faction's secret plots with the Terakons, despite them obviously trying to maintain a low profile. Once Dementor finds out, he deletes all the posts. He later blackmails Drakken with not revealing what he did in exchange for letting Dementor join the Faction.
  • Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond:
    • Sam is the only one of her friends who does not like Kim because she's a cheerleader and part of the popular kids Sam hates. Subverted when Sam sees Kim is not like Dash and Paulina and stands up to them, even though she is jealous that Danny has feelings for her.
    • Sam can't accept the fact there's an animal (Rufus) that doesn't like her.
  • Something We Forgot: It took Danny three chapters, but he remembered Barkin was last seen knocked out in a classroom and was locked in.
  • Spaghetti Kiss: An Almost Kiss example. Danny and Kim eat Chinese food together and find out they're eating the same noodle before any lip contact could happen.
  • Spoiled Brat:
    • It's implied that Bonnie, Connie, and Lonnie are unpleasant people because their mother Nonnie spoils them rotten.
    • Dash is a smug and whiny jerk who thinks the world owes him everything.
  • Stalker Shrine: While under the spell, Kim made a shrine to Danny out of newspaper clippings.
  • Stalker with a Crush:
    • Kim, while under the effects of a love spell, becomes one towards Danny.
    • Bonnie seems to have shades of these towards Danny after she falls for him.
  • The Starscream: While Drakken works with Vlad to create a Terakon army, he reveals to Shego that he plans to seize control of the beasts and turn on him.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Kim, Bonnie and Shego are all taller than Danny and he's very attracted to all three of them.
  • Stern Teacher: Barkin takes his teaching job very seriously and doesn't play favorites, as he's fine with punishing the popular A-Lister students as much as any other student.
  • Stepford Smiler: Bonnie tells Danny her mom isn't as perky as she looks and it has something to do with her dad not being around the house anymore.
  • Stop Being Stereotypical: Kim dislikes the stereotype of the mean cheerleader. When Paulina asks her, "Don't you have to hang around some nerd?", Kim scornfully replies she's not stereotypical.
  • Strong and Skilled:
    • Kim is this by human standards since she's a very proficient martial artist who's strong enough to toss people bigger than her, like Dash Baxter.
    • Shego has Hand Blast powers, and her martial arts skills rival Kim's.
  • Strong Girl, Smart Guy: Gender-Inverted. Danny is a superhero with ghost powers while Kim is a straight-A student and Badass Normal.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Bonnie is usually abrasive and cold but shows a warmer side to her mom and Danny.
  • Superior Successor: Danny considers Kim this to all the girls he's ever been interested in since she lacks any of their flaws, like Paulina's snobbishness, Sam's surliness, and Valerie's hatred of ghosts.
  • Super-Toughness: Shego gives Drakken the idea to upgrade the Bebes so they can stand up to Danny Phantom. Too bad it doesn’t protect the Bebes from getting crushed by the Terakon’s tail.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: Bonnie pretends to be under Ember's love spell like Kim after Danny voices his concern that she's under its influence in order to get her growing attraction to him out of her system.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Part of Ron's inability to keep a secret, he gets too specific about what he's hiding.
    • When Danny met Slim and Joss Possible, Ron says Danny has nothing to do with the other Danny who has a similar hairstyle and name. They figured it out fast, to Danny and Kim's frustration with Ron.
    • When meeting Kim's Nana, Ron says Danny is "also NOT half-human and that Danielle is his cousin and NOT his clone by his archenemy". After that, Danny isn't surprised Kim doesn't have a secret identity.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Paulina is this to Bonnie as both are vain and snobby tanned cheerleaders who bully the main characters and are interested in Danny. Kim lampshades this by calling Paulina "Mini-Bonnie."
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Well, more like "Sympathy for the Alpha Bitch" but Danny becomes much more sympathetic to Bonnie after realizing that her mean attitude is a result of losing her father and having two older sisters who bully her.
  • Sympathy for the Hero: Kim comforts Danny when he despairs over his inability to help Dani while she’s living on the streets since it wouldn’t be safe for her to stay with the Fentons because Vlad will find her with them.
  • Take That!: Jokes at Bueno Nacho are a deliberate one to the real-life chain, Taco Bell. Like Bueno Nacho is said in story, Taco Bell is disliked by real Mexicans for their “unauthentic” food and banned from Mexico as a result.
  • Taking the Bullet: Downplayed. Danny uses himself as a shield to protect Kim from a cooler’s contents that Dash throws at her.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: When Bonnie blackmails Danny into being her boyfriend and avoiding Kim Possible by threatening to tell the world his secret identity as Danny Phantom, Kim turns the tables by forcing her to leave him alone or else she'll reveal to Bonnie's family that she stole her older sisters' credit cards to pay for a hotel room in Amity Park.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Unlike the heroes, The Faction's members don't always get along. Skulker and Shego get into a spat, Vlad and Drakken both plot to betray the other, and everyone is annoyed by Motor Ed.
  • Tempting Fate: In Chapter 8, Dash claims Kim wouldn't beat him up in front of Mr. Lancer. Feeling like Dash deserves the beating, Mr. Lancer comes up with an excuse to leave the area.
  • That Came Out Wrong: Drakken is surprised to see Kim with Danny, a boy 2 years younger than her. Shego thinks he'd probably be a stud in 10 years. However, Drakken thinks her wording suggests something else. She gets upset and states she was only making an observation.
  • Thin-Skinned Bully: Dash goes out of his way to bully anyone he sees as an easy target but runs away in fear from Kim, who couldn’t care less about his popularity or star quarterback status, when she shows she can easily beat up.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl:
    • Since this is Kim during season 3 of her series, she's a junior in high school while Danny is still a freshman, so she's depicted as taller than him. This doesn't affect his interest one bit.
    • Danny also has this dynamic with Bonnie Rockwaller. Justified as she's about the same age and grade as Kim.
    • Ember and Shego are much bigger than Skulker's true form.
  • Token Good Teammate: Scorex to the Terakons.
  • Token Super: Danny is the only one of the heroes with superpowers, courtesy of his ghostly abilities, while the rest are Badass Normals who rely on martial arts and gadgets for fighting villains.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Per Shego's suggestion, Drakken upgrades the Bebes' durability to make them able to stand up to Danny. Not that it protects the fembots from being destroyed by the Terakon.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Bonnie was already an Alpha Bitch and Abhorrent Admirer, but she becomes willing to blackmail Danny into dating her and only backs off when Kim threatens to tell her older sisters she stole their credit cards. It doesn't last as she eventually warms up to Danny.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Bonnie eventually drops her possessive attitude towards Danny and settles for being friends with him. She even defends Danny from her older sisters' insults.
  • Too Much Alike: Bonnie and Paulina are so vain they get into an argument over which of them is more beautiful.
  • Touché:
    • Kim's response when she shows surprise at Danny using a thermos to capture a ghost and he reacts by pointing at her hairdryer.
    Kim: Is that a thermos?
    Danny: Is that a hairdryer?
    Kim: Touché.
    • She later gets him to say "touché" when he shows surprise at Monkey Fist's real name being Monty Fiske and she replies by reminding him he's Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom.
  • Train Job: Vlad sends Freakshow, Lydia, Drakken and Motor Ed to steal a Terakon fossil on a train in Chapter 31.
  • True Love's Kiss: Played with. Kim uses Danny's crush to her advantage, kissing him to break him free from a magically-induced rage.
  • Tsundere:
    • Bonnie hides her attraction to Danny by acting as her usual haughty self.
    • Danny says there's a rumor Star likes him and hides it by acting rude to him. Her thinking he's cute when he arrives to school in a good mood suggests the rumor is true.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass:
    • Kim immediately despises Dash Baxter for being an obnoxious, immature bully who uses his social status to get away with harassing others, including Danny.
    • Tucker did want to hit on Bonnie because of her looks but quickly lost interest in her when she called him a loser.
    • As gorgeous as Bonnie is, Danny refuses to date her for her Alpha Bitch personality. Blackmailing him about his secret identity sure didn’t help. While he warms up to her a little when she softens up because of their growing friendship, he still won’t consider going out with her until he gets to know her better.
    • While Bonnie had considered dating Dash for his jock status and the chance to potentially make Danny jealous, she loses all interest in him when he shows how much of a Jerk Jock he is by assaulting Nathan with trash at the mall. She calls Dash a loser for being so immature before storming off.
  • Ultimate Life Form: According to Fright Knight, the Terakons had evolved and adapted to the point where they were a threat to literally every other life form on the planet, hence necessitating their original genocide.
  • Unexpected Kindness: Danny is caught by surprise when Bonnie shows up to defend him from Paulina’s bullying.
  • Unfortunate Names: In "The Faction", several villains decided to form a team and, considering their enemies are teenagers, all of them agree it's a bad idea to call themselves "The Predators" when Skulker suggests it.
  • Unskilled, but Strong:
    • Kim is helping Danny overcome this by teaching him Kung Fu so he won't rely entirely on his ghost powers.
    • Dani isn’t as experienced as Danny when it comes to using her ghost powers.
  • Unrequited Love Lasts Forever: Bonnie is still in love with Danny even after they agree to only be friends. She remains hopeful they can date since Danny said he might be willing to go out with her if he gets to know her better.
  • Vague Age: Danny assumes Shego is at least a decade older than him but isn't sure.
  • Villain Has a Point:
    • Box Ghost points out to Danny that being almost 15 years old still makes him only 14 years old.
    • The Fright Knight calls Sam out on her stupidity and impulsiveness in freeing the Terakon from Vlad's control since now, there is NOTHING keeping it from running amok.
    • As flattered as she is, Shego is right to disapprove of Danny’s crush on her since he’s too young for her.
    • Shego points out to Drakken that the Bebes will stand a much better chance against Danny Phantom in a fight if he upgrades their durability so they’ll be tough enough to take his attacks.
  • Villains Never Lie: Box Ghost reveals to Kim that Danny Phantom is 14 years old and not 16 years old like he claims he is. This earns him a Ghost Ray blast from Danny.
  • Villain Respect:
    • While Shego finds Danny Phantom inexperienced, she is impressed that he’s skilled enough to keep up with her in a fight.
    • Inverted. Danny regards Dr. Drakken as a better supervillain than Professor Dementor because he’s more entertaining and has a beautiful henchwoman like Shego, plus Dementor acts too much like a walking supervillain cliché given how predictable he is especially since he stole Drakken’s Terakon idea by cloning his own. Dr. Drakken and Shego are actually flattered by this.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Dark Action Girl Shego likes to spend her days off relaxing at the beach or going to the spa.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes:
    • Played straight with Ember, who has an interest in Danny and kissed him every chance she had around him.
    • Inverted with Shego, as Danny has a crush on her. She seems flattered but clearly not interested in someone younger than even Kim.
  • Wasted Beauty:
    • Dash is a handsome and muscular football player but also a total jerkass bully and Dumb Jock to the point that Kim and even Bonnie have nothing but disdain for his obnoxious and immature personality.
    • Bonnie is a very beautiful teenage girl to the point that Danny considers her hotter than Paulina (though not as hot as Kim) but her cruel behavior makes him want to avoid her whenever possible. It's somewhat downplayed as they do develop a sorta bond later.
    • Subverted with Shego as guys like Danny and Motor Ed find her very attractive, but the former acknowledges he doesn't have a shot due to her being both too old for him and a villain.
    • Danny finds Paulina as almost as unappealing as her fellow Alpha Bitch Bonnie.
    • The only thing Danny finds appealing about the Bebes are their good looks.
    • While Danny admits Ember McLain is hot, he has no real interest in her due to her villainous career and obsession with taking over the world.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Well, Kim is weak by ghost standards but has enough martial arts training and combat experience to beat ghosts like Skulker without powers or ghost-hunting tech.
  • Wham Line: Danny hears the word "Die" coming from the Terakon.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Jazz is absolutely vicious towards Sam for letting the Terakon go free, which leads to a lot of destruction.
    • Danny, Kim, and Rufus call Ron out on not telling Yori that Danny Phantom is an ally before she attacks him.
    • Danny, Kim, and Rufus aren’t impressed by Ron’s idea to have Danny overshadow Bonnie to get her to go out with him.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Danny finds it hard to believe Ember is Skulker's ex-girlfriend, admitting she's hot while he's... not.
  • Why Can't I Hate You?: Sam is starting to have a really hard time hating Kim after she stood up to both Dash and Paulina.
  • Wimp Fight: Ron and Tucker's conflict after the latter expresses no respect for Bueno Nacho is... not as impressive as when Danny and Kim fought.
  • Womanchild: Bonnie's older sisters, Connie and Lonnie, act more like spoiled teenagers than adults.
  • Women Prefer Strong Men: Bonnie finds it impressive that Danny is brave enough to stand up to her. Her crush intensifies after finding out about his ghost powers.
  • The Worf Effect: Drakken's upgraded Bebes can give Danny and Kim trouble in a fight but are no match for the Terakon, who easily destroys them all with one swipe of its tail.
  • Worthy Opponent: Shego regards Danny Phantom as this when he holds his own against her in their first battle.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Kim assures Danny when he shares his insecurities about his true identity that there's more to him than just being Danny Phantom, as Danny Fenton is a nicer and stronger person than even he gives himself credit for.
  • You Are What You Hate: Bonnie doesn't get along with her sisters at all but is very much like them by being rude, vain, spoiled, shallow, snobby, arrogant, and immature.
  • You Can Talk?: The revelation that the Terakon race can talk caught everyone off-guard.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Discussed. Dr. Drakken convinces Vlad Plasmius to let Professor Dementor (after he blackmails Drakken into letting him join by threatening to reveal Drakken posted their plans on social media) join the Faction by pointing out he's a brilliant scientist that can help them, and they can just feed him to the Terakon if things go wrong.
  • Younger Than They Look: Ember tells Danny that Skulker would be about 19 in human years, while she herself is 16, at least physically. Thus, in her mind, hitting on Danny is totally legal.
