    A Starstruck Phantasmic Romance
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Even though he finds her attractive and is aware that his ghostly energies are affecting her moods, Starfire's aggressive affections and clinginess makes her one of these towards Danny. Thankfully, she starts to tone down to a level Danny is comfortable with.
    • Blackfire is a much more negative one towards Danny, as while Danny knows Starfire is a good person at her core, he is utterly repulsed by Blackfire's advances due to her cruelty and utter disregard to his feelings.
    • Danny gains an army of them while visiting Tamaran, lead by Starfire's cousin Alisand'r.
    • Control Freak is one towards Starfire, who thinks he is a huge dork and a pathetic villain.
    • Beast Boy develops a crush on both Sam and Jazz, who aren't interested.
  • Action Girl: Starfire is a super strong alien princess who can fight alien lizards and her own evil sister.
  • Action Girlfriend: Starfire, though more of a self-appointed girlfriend, is a powerful superhero who can kick butt well enough to impress Danny.
  • Accidental Kiss: Danny accidentally kisses Starfire twice, which only makes her fall for him even more.
  • Accidental Proposal: An amnesiac Starfire mistakes Danny cooking dinner for her as a sign of them being engaged.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Val-Yor becomes a more villainous character as opposed to being just a jerk in the animated series.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Starfire gives several to Danny but seems fond of calling him "Darling". Danny soon starts calling her "Starbolts" as a sign of affection.
  • Alien Abduction: Parodied. Dash tries to flirt with Starfire by asking if she'd abduct him. She says she doesn't do it and to assume she would is disrespectful and bigoted.
  • Aliens Speaking English: Both Starfire and Blackfire can speak English, due to their species being able to learn languages from lip contact A.K.A kissing. One of them kisses Danny in order to speak English and flirt with him.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules:
    • While she already had a crush on him, Starfire was pleased when she learned Danny saved Frostbite's people from a powerful enemy. Seeing him in action against Blackfire no doubt added to that.
    • Blackfire is also impressed with Danny's powers and spunk, enough that she wants him as her consort.
  • All Love Is Unrequited:
    • Downplayed, Danny actually is attracted to Starfire but isn't in love with her. However, he slowly starts to return her feelings as he gets to know her.
    • Played straight in Blackfire's case, though her "love" for Danny is pretty shallow and twisted.
  • All-Loving Heroine: Starfire shows she holds no desire to harm Val-Yor despite his continuing bigotry. Furthermore, when she finds out Danny isn't a Tamaranian, she's more upset with herself for not recognizing how she made him feel around her. Also, despite Blackfire's repeated attempts to destroy her or Val-Yor's racism, Starfire still shows them mercy and asks Danny to do the same.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Starfire and Blackfire are very lustful with Danny.
    • In Starfire's case, she chases Danny across both their universes, clings to him at any given chance, invades his personal space and showers him with hugs and kisses, whether he wants it or not. She eventually grows out of this once she is made aware that he was uncomfortable with how she treated him and the two start over.
    • Blackfire is worse as she is fully aware of Danny's dislike of her, yet it doesn't stop her attempts to sexually harass him.
  • Always Save the Girl: Even before he starts to fall for Starfire, Danny doesn't hesitate to save her. He even goes into Starfire's universe to save her after hearing she's been kidnapped.
  • Amazon Chaser: Danny slowly begins to return Starfire's feelings when he finds out she is also a superhero like him. He practically drools over her after seeing Starfire beat up Skulker in a fight.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Starfire is a tall, super strong and powerful heroine in her own right and Danny is attracted to her despite her overwhelming affection at time.
  • Amnesiac Lover: Chapter 38 starts an arc where Starfire, after an encounter with Vlad, loses a year's worth of her memories, which includes her entire relationship with Danny. Unlike most examples, Starfire, who has once again become infatuated with Danny at first sight and has no immunity to his ghostly energies, is overjoyed to learn that they are a couple and Danny has to deal with her obsessively chasing him once more.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me:
    • Danny misinterprets Starfire telling him that they would be of legal age for marriage on Tamaran as her wanting to marry him. This causes him to panic and she quickly clarifies this is not the case.
    • Blackfire cruelly teases this toward Danny when she kidnaps him, but adds to that she doesn't plan to do it now, not that it means she won't keep sexually harassing him.
  • Anticipatory Breath Spray: Hilariously, Danny actually used some upon meeting Starfire and realizing she was interested in him.
  • Anywhere but Their Lips: Upon meeting Danny for the first time, a smitten Starfire asks him out on a date. Danny, also smitten with her beauty, agrees and she quickly starts kissing him all over the face minus the lips. Danny did enjoy it at first.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: In chapter 44, Starfire asks Sam one after deducing the latter's jealousy of her and Danny's relationship. Sam finds herself unsure how to react.
Starfire: Even if you had the like liking feelings towards Danny, wouldn't you want him to still be happy... even if it is with someone who is not you?
  • Attractive Bent Species: Starfire's affections for Danny start because she mistakes him for a male Tameranian from her own world.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite being terrified for her affection at times, Danny does grow to care about Starfire's feelings and feels guilty whenever he sees her sad, since he knows deep down she is a good person and her rough affection is due mostly to his ghostly energy making her moods become extreme.
  • Badass Adorable: Starfire is a cute, powerful and bubbly alien princess that is sweet as they come.
  • Badass in Distress: Starfire gets captured by Gordanians, prompting Danny to rescue her.
  • Battle Couple: Danny and Starfire.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For:
    • Before he realized she is an alien and her clingy nature, Danny, infatuated with Starfire's beauty, actually hoped that she would kiss him on the lips. He ends up getting way more than he bargained for. Danny has even stated multiple times that his situation with Starfire is "something [he] always wanted to happen to [him] going south".
    • Val-Yor wanted to return to his home planet. For trying to capture Starfire for the Citadel, he ends up returning... as a prisoner.
  • Blessed with Suck: How Danny views his situation with Starfire. Having a really beautiful, sweet, powerful alien princess/super heroine being totally head over heels with him...and very clingy with her affections.
  • Berserk Button: The mere mention of Blackfire can make the normally sweet Starfire very angry. Val Yor being bigoted towards her is another thing that can set her off.
  • Betty and Veronica: Starfire (Betty) and Blackfire (Veronica) for Danny (Archie). Though, played with as Blackfire sees herself as the Veronica but in reality, Danny has no interest in her at all and soon prefers the sweet-natured Starfire over the cruel, would-be tyrant princess.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Starfire is cute and sweet, but is also super strong and not afraid to use it on those who deserve it.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Danny doesn't even bother to hide how pathetic and lackluster he thinks Control Freak is. According to Starfire, the other Titans don't hold much respect for him either and mock him, just not in person.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: Almost once per chapter.
  • Big Sister Bully: Blackfire's treatment to Starfire is the polar opposite of Jazz's relationship with Danny.
  • Birds of a Feather: Danny begins to warm up to Starfire after he finds out she is a superhero too.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Danny finds it weird that Starfire drinks mustard. He also is pretty grossed out over the alien food that she is fond of eating.
  • Blatant Lies: Dash's attempt to justify a defeat.
Dash: Besides, the sun was in my eye!
Starfire: The sun assaulted your vision while indoors?
  • Boy Meets Ghoul: Gender inverted and Played with. Starfire, an alien girl meets and falls in love with Danny Phantom, a human/ghost hybrid from another universe.
  • Brainless Beauty: Paulina tried to mock the disguised Starfire for the way she spoke, saying she needs to learn how to talk "more righter", even when Sam pointed out it's "more accurate".
  • Bullying a Dragon: As Val-Yor finds out the hard way, Danny is stronger than him. He tries to make Danny suffer by punching him in the gut. Danny, in response, uppercuts him, causing an indent in the spaceship's ceiling. It's noted that Val-Yor used his full strength while Danny was holding back.
  • Butt-Monkey: Control Freak spends the entire chapter he appears in being mocked by Danny Phantom.
  • Cassandra Truth: A mall guard, upon looking at how skinny Starfire is and not knowing about her powers, refuses to believe she hurt Dash.note
  • Canon Character All Along: The mystery monster from the final episode of Teen Titans is written in this story to be an upgraded prototype of Amazo, an android and recurring enemy of the Justice League.
  • Can't Live with Them, Can't Live Without Them: Despite finding her overbearing at times and still frightened by her extreme affections, Danny does grow to care about Starfire over time and actually misses her when he thinks he will never see her again.
  • Captive Date: Starfire unknowingly makes Danny her prisoner on what she thinks is a date the two are mutually involved with.
  • Cat Girl: It is stated that Tameranians evolved from cats.
  • Chick Magnet: Danny's ghost form is considered very attractive to Tamaraneans and he also has a few girls from his own world who like him. To be specific, Starfire, Blackfire, Sam, Valerie, Paulina, Alisand'r and several other Tameranean girls have/had crushes on him.
  • Clark Kenting: Starfire wears baggy clothes and large sunglasses while she goes on a date with Danny in Amity Park.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl:
    • Starfire does get jealous when another girl wants Danny, such as her sister Backfire or even Paulina. Defied with Sam, however, as upon learning the truth about her jealousy and hostility, Starfire still tries to be friendly with Sam and makes it clear she doesn't want be competitive with Danny's friend.
    • Blackfire is a much worse one to Danny.
    • Sam, as usual, isn't fond of someone other than herself being with Danny.
    • Valerie got jealous of seeing "Kory Ander" out on a date with Danny Fenton, though became less jealous when she terrified Dash Baxter.
    • Paulina was furious seeing Starfire making out with Danny Phantom.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Romantic obsession aside, Starfire still retains her usual… quirkiness.
  • Commitment Issues: Starfire thinks the reason Danny won't date her is because of this and tries to..."cure" him of it.
  • Covered in Kisses: Averted, since technically, Starfire doesn't wear lipstick in order to pull this trope off, but she still manages to have a lot of lip contact with Danny whenever she manages to catch him.
  • Coy, Girlish Flirt Pose: Starfire gives one to Danny upon meeting him and it's enough to get his attention...at first.
  • Crack Pairing: Starfire was briefly attracted to Johnny 13 and due to him being full ghost, she chased him similar to how she chases Danny. Danny was not amused.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy:
    • Robin becomes jealous over Starfire and Danny's relationship.
    • Danny does get jealous when he sees another guy interested in Starfire. Hilariously, after being split up again, both halves of him were jealous of each other and competed for Starfire's affections.
  • Crush Blush: Danny and Starfire blush around each other at times.
  • Cuddle Bug: Starfire is prone to giving very tight hugs, almost as much as kisses.
  • Cute Bruiser: Starfire is as adorable as she is tough.
  • The Cutie: Starfire's cheerful demeanor and good heart makes Danny less afraid of her over time.
  • Cut Lex Luthor a Check: After confronting Control Freak, Danny points out that he could have easily sold his inventions and gotten rich legally instead of focusing on becoming a villain.
  • Dance of Romance: Starfire dances with Danny two times. The first is him going along just to keep her happy. The other, in the sky, is where he starts to lose his discomfort and start to like her.
  • Dark Action Girl: Blackfire is as attractive as her sister, but is mercilessly evil.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: Val-Yor's daughter became romantically involved with a Tamaranian. At first, he disowned her, but the rest of his family reacted by disowning him instead.
  • Desperately Craves Affection: Justified, due to Danny's ghostly energies altering their moods to the extreme, but Starfire and later Blackfire tend to come off as this.
  • Determinator: Starfire is determined to have Danny as her mate, to the point of chasing him across their two cities.
  • Distressed Dude: Danny finds himself the object of desire of a really pretty but clingy alien girl who has No Sense of Personal Space and shifts between liking her and being terrified of her.
    • It gets worse when he unwittingly catches the eye of her older sister, who has all of Starfire's strength but none of her noble qualities.
  • The Dreaded: Blackfire is someone Danny genuinely grows to fear as she shows a total lack of concern over his feelings even as her lust for him grows.
  • Dogged Nice Girl: Granted, Danny is aware that most of Starfire's obsessiveness comes from his own ghostly energy altering her moods to the extreme and he knows she is a nice, well meaning girl... though he is still freaked out by her affections and initially tries to stay at far away as he could.
  • Double Standard: Danny is aware that Starfire can only get away with her actions towards him largely due to being a really pretty alien girl. On the other hand, he rightfully rejects Blackfire for being an utterly loathsome bitch.
  • Dude Magnet: Danny, Tucker, Robin, Dash and Control Freak are all very attracted to Starfire for her beauty and sweet personality.
  • Effortless Amazonian Lift: Due to her super strength, Starfire can pick Danny up without any difficulty and has even picked him up with no difficulty.
  • Endearingly Dorky:
    • When he's genuinely attracted to her, Danny's natural weak-kneed reaction to cute girls takes effect around Starfire.
    • Starfire's bubbly personality and rather broken way of speaking is something Danny actually finds cute and endearing.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Blackfire and Val-Yor against each other. She's disgusted by his bigotry and he's disgusted by how she treats her own sister.
  • Everyone Can See It: Clockwork and Frostbite make it clear that they are aware that Danny has feelings for Starfire.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Despite being put off by her at times, Danny doesn't like seeing Starfire's feelings get hurt and he got angry when Val-Yor made racist comments towards her.
    • Danny was also very disgusted with Blackfire's cruelty towards Starfire, even though he was still a little afraid of her at the time.
    • Sam usually expresses relief when a girl who likes Danny goes away, but seeing a genuinely nice girl like Starfire getting her heart broken actually causes her to regret her jealousy.
    • Even with her emotions being extreme, Starfire wouldn't try to force Danny to have sex with her.
    • While Sam hates Danny being near Starfire, it's not to the point she'd "let people, even the A-list, get burned alive".
  • Evil Counterpart: Blackfire to Starfire. They are both princesses of their home planet Tameran, they are both beautiful, they can both fly, are super strong and can shoot bolts of energy and most of all, they are both in love with the same guy, Danny. However, Starfire is a princess who willingly abdicated the throne, uses her powers to protect others, and is beloved by her homeworld. Blackfire, on the other hand, is a sociopathic would-be tyrant who was banished from their homeworld and is not afraid to use her powers to take out those who stand in her way. Also, their relationships with Danny contrast. While Starfire originally was very obsessive in her pursuit of Danny, she eventually makes amends with him when she realizes how uncomfortable she made him. Danny, in turn, gives her another chance and slowly begins to return her feelings. Blackfire, on the other hand, openly lusts after Danny and and doesn't let his lack of interest stop her from harassing the object of her desire. Danny openly despises her for her lack of empathy towards him and her own sister.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Starfire's eyes are completely green, including a green sclera. It was the first sign that she isn't human for Danny.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Danny is surprised to see Starfire isn't affected by the cold while in a revealing outfit, even when she's in the snow.
  • Fat Bastard: Control Freak is obnoxious to Danny, and his weight is something the ghost boy makes fun of.
  • Femme Fatale: Blackfire isn’t afraid to show off her looks to (a disinterested) Danny in an attempt to lower his guard.
  • Fiery Redhead: Starfire, being a Tamaranean, is already a very emotional girl. Danny's presence makes her even more emotional.
  • Flying Brick: Both Danny and Starfire are strong and can fly.
  • Forceful Kiss:
    • Starfire gives several to Danny in a Pepé Le Pew fashion.
    • Blackfire gives Danny a couple too, though they are treated much more negatively.
    • Ember gives three to Danny in one chapter, trying to steal him from Starfire.
  • Forgiveness:
    • Danny travels to Starfire to ask her forgiveness for breaking her heart when she finally found out he's not a Tamaranean. Starfire, being the all-around caring type, was willing to do so.
    • Meanwhile, once Starfire calms down and regrets causing him trouble, Danny was willing to forgive her. It helps that he grew fond of her.
  • Foil: Starfire is briefly compared to Sam. Sam is the daughter of two rich people who she prefers to spend time away from, Starfire is the daughter of royalty who were killed. Sam is human, Starfire isn't. Sam is notably confrontational and prone to expressing dislike instantly to others, Starfire is bubbly and shows kindness to people. Their relationships with Danny differ as well; Sam hides her interest while Starfire is more blatant.
  • Genki Girl: Starfire is as bubbly as she is kind. Danny finds it endearing.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Starfire is the princess of her home planet and her signature color is purple.
  • Green-Eyed Monster:
    • As always, Sam gets jealous of any girl trying to get Danny's attention.
    • While she won't admit it, Danny knows that Blackfire is jealous of her sister deep down, due to how their parents and homeworld preferred Starfire despite Blackfire being first in line for the throne.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: Technically orange skin, but Starfire fits this.
  • The Glomp: Whenever she is not kissing him, Starfire is giving massive hugs to Danny. According to him, she is "a pretty strong hugger".
  • Hate Sink: Val-Yor becomes a bigger asshole than he was in the series. He's still making bigoted comments about Starfire, even after she saved his life and she and Danny help him escape the ship they were all trapped on.
  • Headbutt of Love: Starfire frequently does this to Danny, whether he wants it or not.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: Starfire is a very beautiful, super strong alien princess and a famous heroine in her own right that has had her share of male admirers, though her aggressiveness and clinginess is a major turn-off for Danny. Case in point, when Danny saw her, he immediately jumped in her arms. All was great until he discovered that she is an alien and saw how extreme her affections can be.
  • Held Gaze: Starfire tends to stare longingly into Danny's eyes.
  • Here We Go Again!: Thanks to Vlad's actions, Starfire loses both her memories of Danny and her self control around him, which causes her to romantically chase him again.
  • Holding Hands: A recurring thing that happens between Danny and Starfire.
  • Hopeless Suitor:
    • Blackfire to Danny, due to her evil, sociopathic nature.
    • Control Freak to Starfire, who regards him as a dork and an unimpressive villain.
    • At first, Starfire might have been this to Danny but he does have some genuine affection and sympathy for her and falls for her over time.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: Granted, Danny’s ghostly energy is affecting her feelings to extreme levels but Starfire's reaction to seeing him is to smother him with suffocating hugs and kisses at any chance. She even goes as far as French-kissing Danny at one point.
  • Housewife: In chapter 40, an amnesiac Starfire, who is once again hopelessly infatuated with Danny, begins acting like one in order to get Danny to marry her. It doesn't work.
  • Hypocrite: Paulina mocks Starfire's broken English by saying, "Someone needs to learn how to speak the more righter way". Sam corrects Paulina on the "more righter" part.
  • I Have No Son!: Val-Yor disowned his daughter because she chose a Tamaranean explorer as her boyfriend. Their family disowned him in response.
  • In Love with Love: Starfire. At first, she is heartbroken over believing that Robin will never return her feelings and then longs for 'someone just like her'. Cue Danny, who winds up in her world and strongly resembles a male Tameranean, and also has powers which amplifies real Tameraneas' emotions to their most extreme. Starfire sees him, mistakes him for an attractive member of her homeworld, is instantly lovestruck and tries to make him her mate by any means necessary. However, due to Danny's powers, she comes off very strongly and winds up scaring away the object of her affection.
  • Innocent Aliens: Starfire means no ill-will to the object of her affections, unlike her sister. It helps Danny warm up to her.
  • Insult to Rocks: Danny calls Val-Yor a "turd" but says doing so is "totally unfair to poop".
  • Interspecies Romance: Between Danny Phantom, a human-ghost hybrid, and Starfire, a girl from an alien race that evolved from cats.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Even though Danny despises them both, he admits Blackfire and Val-Yor have a point on how him not letting Starfire know he's not a Tamaranian isn't a good thing.
    • While she's very unpleasant towards Starfire for jealous reasons, Sam pointed out Starfire used to stalk Danny and violated his personal space despite that the two have long since put it behind them.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk:
    • Blackfire, who shows she's unpleasant and unlikable whenever she flirts with Danny.
    • As it turns out, Val-Yor has had no past issues with Tamaraneans that caused his racism. He just thinks they're inferior.
  • Just Eat Gilligan: Danny is aware of the fact that if it wasn't for his own ghostly energy making Starfire act extreme, he probably would have agreed to being her boyfriend if she calmed down.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty:
    • In the series, Val-Yor never gets punished for his attitude towards Starfire since she felt it would justify his views. In this story, he's been dishonored by Vernathia as a movement against bigotry towards Tamaranians when they found out how he treated the princess of Tamaran. Also, since Danny's not a Tamaranian, he voices his opinions by hitting Val-Yor whenever he gets a chance.
    • We never see what became of the white monster from the final episode of the series. Here, Danny destroys it.
  • Kissing Under the Influence: Played with. Starfire falls madly in love with Danny, whose powers make him a Living Aphrodisiac to members of her species. However, they did not make Starfire fall for Danny, they just turned up her emotions around him to their most extreme mode possible, meaning that she is, at the very least, sincerely attracted to him.
  • Kiss of Distraction: To prevent her from seeing the duplicate he made to deal with Val-Yor, Danny kisses Starfire. After his duplicate returns, he's about to end it, but decides to continue kissing her.
  • Kissing Discretion Shot: During the gondola scene, we zoom out and a middle-aged couple can hear the kissing between Danny and Starfire and when we return, Danny is very red in the face as a result.
  • Lack of Empathy: Danny is horrified how Blackfire has no regret for her crimes or working with the same aliens that killed her parents, much less her inability to care about his feelings.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: The other Titans mistake Danny for a villain when he says he's looking for Starfire and attack him. Raven, Cyborg and Beast Boy see him helping people and realize he's not a threat.
  • Light Feminine Dark Feminine: Starfire is the Light Feminine, while her older sister Blackfire is the Dark Feminine.
  • Living Aphrodisiac: Ghosts from the Ghost Zone can cause Tamaranians to be more emotional. Because they think he's cute, Danny unintentionally causes Starfire and Blackfire to be very attracted to him.
  • Loving a Shadow: Starfire's feelings for Danny as she mistakes him for a male Tameranean. Fortunately, the more she gets to know him, the more her feelings become genuine.
  • Longing Look: Starfire gives a couple to Danny.
  • Love at First Sight:
    • Starfire experiences this when she sees Danny, mistakes him for a male Tameranian, and is instantly lovestruck... A bit of a deconstruction of one as Danny knows him being a Living Aphrodisiac is mostly why Starfire is so extreme in her affections but he is also aware that at least some of her interest in him is genuine.
    • Technically speaking, Danny himself was very taken with Starfire's good looks and seemed open to the idea of becoming her boyfriend, only to be put off by her aggressive affections.
    • Blackfire was more like LUST at first sight, much to Danny's dismay.
  • Love Dodecahedron: Starfire is in love with Danny Phantom, who is also the object of desire of Sam, Valerie, Paulina and her older sister Blackfire. Despite some initial reluctance, Danny grows to like her back but guys like Robin and Control Freak also have crushes on her.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Or rather, it’s Danny being a Living Aphrodisiac that is making Starfire crazy.
  • Loving Bully: Averted. Blackfire's "bullying" of Danny is not treated as affectionate at all.
  • Luminescent Blush: Danny does tend to blush a lot when Starfire is being very affectionate.
  • Mad Love: Starfire's obsessive crush on Danny turns him off, at least at first.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Starfire's bubbly and friendly personality soon charms Danny enough to forget his wariness of her over time.
  • Master of the Mixed Message: Danny has a hard time trying to admit whether he likes Starfire or not.
  • Modest Royalty: Starfire is the princess of her home planet but is very sweet and is by no means a snob.
  • Mrs. Robinson: Starfire's cousin, Alisand'r, appears to be a full grown woman and doesn't see Danny's age as a total deal breaker when she looks for a potential mate.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Starfire still wears her revealing, though not as revealing in comics, outfit from the series.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • After revealing what he is to her, Starfire returns home, heartbroken. This causes Danny to regret this decision.
    • Interestingly, Starfire herself experiences this. She isn't upset at Danny, she's upset with herself for failing to realize how uncomfortable she made him.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Even in her less than flattering disguise, Tucker notes that Starfire is still attractive.
  • Never My Fault: Val-Yor blames Starfire for his being an outcast to his people because he called her a troq.
  • Nice Girl: Starfire, despite under the influence of Danny's power, is still a kind, selfless person who uses her powers to protect people. It helps Danny slowly stop being afraid of her.
  • Nice Guy: Danny. Despite being a little snarky at times, he is a brave, selfless guy who uses his power to protect the people of his home world and even Jump City when he ends up there. He is even pretty patient and understanding to Starfire, despite being terrified by her clingy affections and doesn't want to see her get hurt
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: With her memory and resistance gone, Danny told an amnesiac Starfire about kissing being a sign of affection, which has hilarious results.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased: Poor Danny...
  • Non-Human Lover Reveal:
    • Blackfire already figured out Danny isn't a Tamaranian on her own, but it doesn't deter her interest in the slightest.
    • Starfire finds out, and is upset when she realized how uncomfortable she made him. Her attraction to him doesn't go away.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Starfire towards Danny.
  • Oh, Crap!: Danny experiences this in Paris, after his father's device is damaged and he is stuck in his ghost form with a still super lovesick Starfire in pursuit. He gets another one when an amorous Starfire locks them in a closet for some "alone time".
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Played With. Danny is aware that his ghostly energy is making Starfire act the most extreme around her and he also realizes that it's making her crush on him very extreme as well.
  • Opposites Attract: Danny and Starfire. Danny is a snarky kid who doesn't hide his distaste for unpleasant people, Starfire is a sweet girl who shows kindness and compassion whenever she can. They still become drawn to each other.
  • Or Are You Just Happy to See Me?: While hiding from his new Tamaranean harem, Danny and Starfire hide in a crack in a wall, very close to each other. Starfire feels something poking into her. Danny bashfully admits it's not him before noticing it as well. It turns out to be a baby Space Dolphin.
  • Pass the Popcorn: While watching Starfire and Danny's time in 90's Paris, Frostbite eats some popcorn and one of the Observants asks if he's going to share. Pandora later questions how they eat with no visible mouth.
  • Playing Hard to Get: Starfire mistakes Danny's attempts to run away as this.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Dash and Paulina mock the disguised Starfire for being a "mouthy foreign girl".
  • Post-Kiss Catatonia: Happens to Danny sometimes.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Alisand'r, a Tamaranean from the Green Lantern Corps, had no relationship with Starfire in the comics. The two are cousins here.
  • Rejection Affection: Despite Danny's constant attempts to run away from her, Starfire merely thinks he is being shy and playing hard to get and continues her pursuit of him.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Danny and Starfire officially become a couple in chapter 25.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: The mall guard is right for siding against Dash and Paulina but he does so because he doesn't believe a skinny girl like Starfire can hurt Dash.
  • Romantic Spoon Feeding: In chapter 40, an amnesiac and amorous Starfire makes a Tameranean dessert called Zorka cakes and tries to feed them to him this way.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Starfire.
  • Samaritan Relationship Starter: Danny's attraction to Starfire becomes more than just physical when she helps him save a bus full of innocent people in Paris.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Danny is pretty grounded and not afraid to express his distaste for people like Dash or Blackfire. Starfire is optimistic and behaves like a child in a teenage girl's body. They grow close.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: When a mall guard stops Dash and Paulina from bothering Starfire and Team Phantom, Paulina threatens to have her father buy the mall and fire the guard. The guard laughs it off.
  • Self-Proclaimed Love Interest: As far as Starfire is concern, she and Danny are soulmates.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Danny admits Starfire looks nice a dress.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Danny says this whenever someone calls Starfire his girlfriend.
  • Shipper on Deck: Frostbite becomes very pro Danny/Starfire. He even thinks she'd make a great "Mrs. Great One".
  • Shout-Out:
    • To Pepé Le Pew cartoons, only an alien girl mistaking a human/ghost hybrid for a member of her race.
    • Chapter 24's latter half is a huge one to Girls Bravo with Danny having several female Tamaranians getting smitten over him.
  • Sibling Triangle: When Blackfire is introduced, it doesn't take long for the two alien princesses to fight over Danny. Emphasis on FIGHT!
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Starfire is an alien girl with bright red hair and green eyes, and she fluctuates between Danny's Abhorrent Admirer and Love Interest.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: The more she gets to know Danny, the more Starfire's interest is more than just in a cute face, valuing his heroic nature, how he cares about her feelings, and goes to great lengths to earn her forgiveness.
  • Sixth Ranger: Danny is made a member of the Teen Titans in Chapter 28, much to Robin's irritation
  • Smitten Teenage Girl:
    • Starfire is very taken with Danny and wants to be his girlfriend.
    • Jazz seems to have a thing for Cyborg/Victor after he compliments both her looks and brains.
  • Snow Means Love: Danny and Starfire's third "date" has them at a snowy mountain just outside of Amity Park.
  • Stalking Is Funny if It Is Female After Male: Clockwork, Frostbite, Pandora and even the Observants seem to have this attitude as they actually just sit back and watch as Danny and Starfire are on their "date" in Paris .
  • Stalker with a Crush:
    • Starfire is a (mostly) harmless one.
    • Blackfire, not so much.
  • Stalker with a Test Tube: Blackfire also makes suggestions about how she and Danny could breed powerful children.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: At one point, Frostbite just asks Danny why he simply doesn't tell Starfire that he is not Tameranean.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Starfire is taller than Danny and it doesn’t diminish his attraction to her and vice verse.
  • Super-Strength: Danny and Starfire (though Starfire is shown to be stronger at times).
  • Take That!: Chapter 29 has a big one to Teen Titans Go!. Control Freak pitches an idea for a cartoon similar to TTG, since in-canon he rebooted the universe, and Danny responds with this.
Danny: I think, it'd be funny… for like a portion of the time. Because they're superheroes and aren't meant to be just comedy only. Plus, saying waffles like a million times isn't funny, it'd get annoying very fast. Just like how whatever humor you have in mind could get annoying very fast. It sounds very poorly thought out and something only meant for like once in a while, not a long time or even a marathon a month. I'm assuming you marathoning it means it would need like a buttload of episodes, otherwise you'd be replaying episodes, which would be a terrible thing to do as it shows you shouldn't make a long marathon if you don't have enough material to do it. Also, fart jokes are like bottom of the barrel and only funny like once in a while, not every minute. And why would staring at pizza involve time travel? It's like you chose to not think this through because you don't really respect your target audience enough. I'm sure you think they'd think it'd be funny… until they get tired of the same stupid thing over and over again and at best it's only an occasional laugh and nothing more.
  • Ten Minutes in the Closet: In 1990s Paris, Danny ends up trap in a closet with Starfire and reluctantly takes part in a game of Seven Minutes In Heaven... for TWO HOURS!
  • The "I Love You" Stigma:
    • Part of what repels Danny from Starfire is her saying they are soulmates not five minutes after meeting each other.
    • Then, in chapter 33, Starfire says it again to Danny while under an influence. When she says it again later, it makes things awkward for both of them and they write it off as the effect of her hasn't completely worn off.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: In chapter 32, Danny experiences this when he realizes that Starfire has a relapse in the Ghost Zone and becomes romantically aggressive once more.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Starfire is stated to be taller than Danny yet it doesn't diminish her interest in him and vice verse. Blackfire is even taller than her sister, making the height difference even more obvious when she is with Danny.
  • Twirl of Love: Starfire tries to do this with Danny in chapter 3, except due to her super speed and strength and Danny's fear of her, she accidentally lets him go and sends him flying high as a result.
  • Two-Person Love Triangle: A variation occurs in chapter 31, where Danny gets split up into Super Danny and Fun Danny and both sides compete to see who Starfire prefers. She likes both sides equally.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Val-Yor has no idea just how strong Danny is until he's uppercutted.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Val-Yor is an even bigger jerk than in the series.
  • Tsundere: Danny becomes a male version to Starfire over time. He denies that he has any interest in her, though Clockwork and Frostbite clearly don't buy it. Even he isn't sure at first if he likes Starfire or if he is scared of her.
  • Understanding Boyfriend: While not really her boyfriend at first, Danny is actually pretty patient and understanding with Starfire, since he knows her actions are mostly due to him being a Living Aphrodisiac.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Val-Yor willingly takes a job to kidnap Starfire and taker her back to the Citadel to reclaim his place back home in Vernathia, even though she saved him and set him free from the Gordanians.
  • Unknown Rival: Sam rejects Starfire's attempts to be friends because she's jealous of her relationship with Danny.
  • Unwanted Harem:
    • Both Starfire and Blackfire were both eager to have Danny for their mate, obsessively chasing him for a time.
    • Danny gains one on Tamaran, thanks to it being their equivalent of Valentine's Day, which is also a sort of mating season. Thankfully, they back off when Danny and Starfire have their Relationship Upgrade.
    • Chapter 33 has Starfire, who through a series of events gain a copy of Danny's powers and gets exposed to ghostly energy, making her behave amorously once again. Since she has Danny's powers, she could summon 3 more copies of herself and they all are eager to shower a reluctant Danny with their affections.
  • Villainous Crush:
    • Blackfire falls for Danny and is determined to steal him from her sister by any means necessary.
    • Control Freak has a more comical one on the uninterested Starfire, who thinks he is a huge dork.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Blackfire has the hots for Danny, much to his dismay.
    • Ember also is shown to have a thing for him to.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Starfire does genuinely care about Danny's well being and will not hesitate to protect him, be it from Val-Yor's racism or her own evil sister.
  • Weakness Turns Her On: Blackfire admits she prefers Danny's human form due to being too weak to truly fight her back...that and she likes his black hair too.
  • We Can Rule Together:
    • Blackfire gives this to Danny, asking him to help her reclaim the throne of Tameran and become her consort. Naturally, Danny refuses.
    • Control Freak offers this to Starfire, who naturally refuses.
  • Woman Scorned: Part of the reason Danny is reluctant to just tell Starfire that he is not a Tameranian is because of this trope.
  • Yandere:
    • Blackfire isn't afraid to hurt Danny when he doesn't return her affections.
    • Danny sort of fears Starfire were to become this if she knew his real species. He realizes it's unfounded once he finally comes clean.

    Do Over
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the series, Johnny Rancid was skilled enough to avoid all members of the Titans for a while. Here, he gets his butt kicked by Starfire only.
  • Adorkable: Danny around Starfire.
  • Amazon Chaser: Just like the first time around, Danny is impressed by the fact that Starfire is a superhero and can kick serious butt.
  • Amnesiac Lover: This story involves Danny losing all memories of Starfire and their relationship. A semi-bittersweet version since a cure is available and Starfire was told it would be temporary, so she decides to use this opportunity to "do over".
  • Big Damn Kiss: At the end of their date, Starfire gives Danny an epic "first kiss" after asking for his consent. The end result was Danny too smitten to form proper words.
  • Call-Back: This entire story is deliberately to harken back to when Starfire and Danny first met and their first proper date.
  • Coy, Girlish Flirt Pose: Starfire does this several times to charm Danny. It works.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Just like in the story, Robin is jealous of Starfire and Danny's relationship.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Once Starfire tells Danny who Johnny Rancid is, Danny considers him "a human Johnny 13" who "looks even nastier".
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Since Danny has amnesia, he thinks that he still has to search for Johnny 13, something he forgets about while on his date with Starfire. When he does remember that, he mentally scolds himself for it.
  • Love at First Sight: Just like in the original story, Danny becomes instantly attracted to Starfire as soon as he sees her.
  • Shout-Out: Galactic Wars is obviously a Shout-Out to Star Wars.

     A Timeless Romance
  • Accidental Kiss: Happens in chapter three between Danny, Starfire and their past selves.
  • Bittersweet Ending: For Starfire, she was unable to change her past self from being overly affectionate. However, Danny admits he wouldn't change how they met, helping her feel better.
  • I Hate Past Me:
    • Starfire is ashamed at how her past self acted.
    • Danny is ashamed of how much of a wuss he was.
  • Let Me Get This Straight...: Or, as Starfire says in Chapter 3 upon being told her past self and Danny's from their Paris date were brought from the past, "Allow me to see that I straighten the story...".

     The Switch
  • Above the Influence: As much as she wants Danny's love, Starfire wants it by his consent rather than a spell.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Starfire wished for Danny to say that he loves her. Desiree happened to have overheard her.
  • Disapproving Look: When suggested that Starfire should kiss another boy to break Danny out of the spell, Tucker volunteers. All of them, even Starfire, give him this look.
  • I'm a Doctor, Not a Placeholder: When Jazz comments she expected Tucker to be stronger with all the meat he eats, he says he's "a techno geek, not a jock".
  • No Sense of Personal Space: He acts as clingy to Starfire as she used to be towards him.
  • Noodle Incident: Maddie is reluctant about following a report because of "what happened last time at the senior center". Jack points out "They dropped the charges".
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The thing that clues Starfire that Danny is not well is when he begins acting MUCH bolder around her and says "I love you" without hesitation.
  • Rejection Affection: The more Starfire tries to flee from the lovesick Danny, the more he thinks it is a game.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Danny towards Starfire in this fic.
  • Unrequited Love Switcheroo: Zigzagged. Danny and Starfire are still in a legitimate, consensual relationship but the love spell makes Danny act very obsessive towards her and despite still having feelings for him, Starfire becomes overwhelmed by his extra affection.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Tucker offering to let Starfire kiss him to break the love spell on Danny is met with disapproval from everyone. When Danny gets the spell broken, he's still angry at Tucker for it.

     Bound Together
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Danny is, albeit reluctantly, losing his fear and apprehension around Starfire because of her kind opinions on him.
  • The Bet: This story's plot is started by a bet between Clockwork and the Observants.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Danny tells Starfire they should know each other better, then realizes it can lead her to ask questions that may cause her to realize he's not a Tamaranean as he allows her to assume.
  • Dude, She's Like in a Coma: Starfire briefly considers kissing Danny while he's sleeping but decides it's wrong.
  • Exact Words:
    • When Starfire asks Danny to carry her, he says the man only carries the woman like that after marriage. She reacts by wanting to carry him.
    • When Danny mentions his sister's name and Starfire finds those names odd for Tamaraneans, he says they weren't raised in Tamaran and their parents never set foot there. Starfire simply assumes they descend from Tamaraneans who were ostracized for having silver hair.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Starfire thinks Danny is simply too shy and uneasy to be the lover of a princess. Although in some ways, she's not wrong.
  • Not Helping Your Case: Danny's attempts to let Starfire down fall apart as he was unwittingly kissing her back.
  • Shout-Out: Danny feels like the cat from the Pepé Le Pew cartoons.
  • Uptown Girl: Danny tries to make Starfire stop loving him by pointing out she's a princess and he's basically a peasant with no money to his name other than what he carries in his pockets. However, she doesn't care about titles, is allowed to marry whomever she wishes regardless of status, and also lacks Earth money and lives off Robin's charity.
