Old Complete Monster cleanup thread

Welcome to the Complete Monster proposal thread! This is the thread where new Complete Monster examples are vetted, approved, and written up. If you're looking for the general cleanup thread (for cuts, rewrites, expansions, and the like), please go here

Important: Before suggesting any new examples, please read the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List; if you have any questions, the odds are high they are answered there. Additionally, please check here for the earliest date a work can be discussed (usually two weeks from the U.S. release date) and whether the work has already been reserved by another user.

Here is how the process works:

    Process

  1. If you have a candidate to propose, you can simply come right in and propose them! If the character's run is brief, such as a single issue of a comic book, then a simple summary of their actions and any potential redeeming qualities will be enough; for longer-running candidates, an effortpost (EP) might be helpful for organizing the proposal. An EP is not outright required, but please be mindful that if a post becomes too clunky and unorganized, it can be very hard for other people to follow.

  2. After the proposal, there will be a 72-hour discussion and voting period, where people may ask questions and vote on the candidate. The number of upvotes must outnumber the downvotes by at least five for the character to be considered "approved".

  3. Three days after the proposal has been made, if the character has been approved, you may post the writeup (the text to be posted on the trope page itself) on the thread and send it to the drafts page. Your candidate will soon be added to the CM subpage. If the work has a page, you should add your candidate to the relevant YMMV page. Voila! It's that simple!

Outside of this process, we do have a few ground rules:

    Ground Rules

  1. To keep the thread moving at a reasonable pace, there are some restrictions on when a proposal can be made. There should only be a maximum of four EPs posted both per page and per hour to ensure that nothing gets lost in the shuffle; additionally, each individual troper should only be proposing or writing up characters from a maximum of three works at a time (from initial proposals to end of their voting period). If your proposal would fall outside of either of these guidelines, we'd like to ask you to please wait until they would fit within; feel free to type them up on an outside document, and then when the time comes, you can just copy, paste, and post!

  2. No plagiarism of any kind. This is a very serious matter site-wide, as the website could get in actual legal trouble over this; as a result, this can very quickly lead to mod intervention. This can take many different forms:
    1. Direct plagiarism, i.e. wholesale copying. This is not only the easiest to find, but is also the most likely to warrant quick moderator intervention. To be clear, quoting in some places is perfectly acceptable, but it has to be very clear you're quoting from something else and it cannot be anything longer than a sentence or two - if you're quoting an entire work summary from Wikipedia, no one is going to believe you've actually consumed the work, so even if you cite your source, your candidate will be downvoted anyway.
    2. Self-plagiarism. Even if you can prove that you wrote the same text in both places, the site itself can't contain any of the duplicated text. If you already wrote something once before, it's not too hard to write it a second time.
    3. Using another site's work as a template for a proposal. Just because you don't copy and paste something directly doesn't mean it's any harder to detect if you're basing parts or all of your proposal on text someone else wrote. To be clear, this doesn't violate site rules and won't lead to mod intervention, but just like if you directly plagiarize, no one will believe you've consumed the work if you're clearly basing your proposal on something else. This thread largely operates on the honor system, and tweaking someone else's work to pass it off as your own is one of the fastest ways to lose trust.

  3. Votes must be for specific candidates, meaning no blanket voting (i.e. "yes to everyone I missed").

  4. If you are the first person to downvote a candidate, please provide an explanation of why when you do so. We're here for discussions above all, and a hit-and-run downvote doesn't facilitate anything.

  5. If a work is already reserved by another user, please don't comment on the work or any potential characters worth discussion before the discussion date. We know how exciting it is when a work has a keeper that you're waiting to talk about, but it's not fair to the person who reserved the work who is just as excited to lead the discussion to see the discussion getting spoiled before they get to do it. On the other hand, if the reservation only has one name attached, shoot them a PM - they may be down for a collaboration, which will get you in on the fun as well!

  6. Please keep the thread on-topic. While discussing the trope is fun and we encourage people to enjoy it, questions like "who's your favorite CM" are off-topic and can lead to thumps. That's the kind of question to take to people's PMs if they're willing. Similarly, while we encourage friendliness and familiarity with other users, posts should always have some kind of thread-relevant purpose; for instance, if you want to wish someone a happy birthday, feel free to, but if it's the only thing in the post, it's off-topic and needs something else alongside it. Again, though, while we strive for a friendly atmosphere, this is not Facebook; life updates are fun, but unless they have some kind of impact on your thread participation, please do not bring it here - we have Yack Fest for that.

  7. Please refrain from asking anything along the lines of "How Did We Miss This One?" In almost every case, the answer is simply "No one thought about it before". This Is a Wiki where everyone has different interests, and the fact that people missed a particular candidate, even one that seems like a textbook example of a trope or a character who is particularly iconic in pop culture, means absolutely nothing. The question is disruptive, has a simple and consistent answer, and provides nothing to any discussion.

  8. If you are suspended from parts of the website, it is still possible to participate!
    1. For users who are suspended from editing the wiki, you still have full access to this thread. You can propose candidates and write them up with no issues whatsoever; while you will have to ask someone else to post the entry to the relevant pages once it is done, all write-ups are considered thread-approved - as in, done by consensus - and thus doing so does not violate any rules regarding meatpuppeting.
    2. If you are suspended from the forums, your participation is limited but not impossible. It is still possible for a forum-suspended user to assist in creating the write-up for a character who has already been approved; as previously mentioned, write-ups are inherently considered a consensus-based edit and thus not tied to any one particular user. However, you can not assist in the proposal of a character; as a proposal is based around the forum rather than the wiki, doing so with a forum suspension qualifies as meatpuppeting.

  9. Please keep all discussions "in-house".
    1. What other wikis use for CM equivalents is irrelevant here.
    2. Please be wary of using other wikis, Fandom or otherwise, as sources of information. They are just as fallible as a site like Wikipedia in regards to accuracy because they can be edited by any user, just as this site can.
    3. Do not attempt to force a communication with an author in an attempt to gather evidence or settle a debate; besides the fact that this is a YMMV trope and thus author intent has variable weight depending on the circumstance, doing so may cross the line into drama exportation, which is prohibited site-wide.

If you would like to use an EP for your candidate, here's the general format. This format does not have to be followed exactly, but these are the main topics that need to be covered:

    Effortpost Template

What is the work?

This is a brief summary of the work you're going to discuss. We don't need a full plot summary here, just however much we need to understand going into the discussion — it can even be as simple as quoting the summary on the work's page.

Who is the candidate and what have they done?

This is essentially the character's biography — who they are, their story, the crimes they commit, and, preferably (though not required), what happens to the candidate at the end. It does not have to include every single thing they ever do — for some villains, we'd be here all day if that was the case — but it should include the highlights of their journey.

Any redeeming qualities? Freudian Excuse?

This is where any potential redeeming characteristics or tragic backstory should be discussed. Do they have a tragic past? Do they show that Even Evil Has Standards or Even Evil Has Loved Ones? Maybe a Pet the Dog moment or two? This is where these should be discussed in full. Not every potential redeeming moment is a clear-cut disqualifier, but we should hear of any potential issues to ensure the character is discussed in full.

Are they bad enough?

A Complete Monster has to be particularly vile by the standard of the work they appear in. Therefore, you should look at what the character does compared to similar characters in the same work. This takes into account things like:

  • Their resource level (a human Serial Killer can't stand up to an alien Omnicidal Maniac, but they can be bad by the standard of other human serial killers)
  • The amount of time they have to work with (such as a one-shot character versus long-running antagonists)
  • The quantity vs. quality of their crimes compared to others (someone with a lower victim count but far more visceral and personal crimes could be considered as equally bad overall as someone with a higher body count but less horror involved)

Essentially, this section is an analysis of the kinds of villainy shown in the work and an explanation of why this particular character's villainy stands out within it.

Final verdict?

This is where you post your final conclusion on the character in question. You can continue elaborating on your reasons or even just say a simple "yes" or "no"; at this point, we've heard everything we need to hear.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This thread tackles very serious and dark matters on a daily basis. We will be discussing things like murder, rape, torture, human trafficking, crimes against children, and in particularly dark cases, several of these issues at the same time. We keep a lighthearted air, but all candidates carry the general assumption that these are awful individuals committing disgusting crimes. We ask that if you participate, you do so with the requisite seriousness such dark topics require; exclamations of how gross something is, whether serious or sarcastic, are disrespectful to the topics at hand, and if you cannot handle such topics, please do not participate.

And that's everything you need to know. Welcome to the thread!

I would also line to know. His mo is bad enough that I'll vote yes if it's at least ten. Since that's at least Anita level.

Right unfortunately there's no overhead shot of the site, just the spot where Allen attempts to bury the child alive. I did also check on pausing and reading the details about his firm and there was a post about a 25 house site...but I can't properly confirm that it's that site and just a random site that he's worked on.

Most we get about the site numbers is the quote from his daughter and he's been at it since the mid 70s (the first kid got killed 1982) so I'm afraid that's what we're left with.

EDIT: Also while I was skimming, when Hotch discovers the pit where Allen keeps his victims, it's caked with dry blood all over the place and other "stains". If that means anything for you guys.

Eh, sure to Knull (wait, this Carnage wants to rule and not destroy? Huh.).

Long story short? Yes. Carnage periodically gets megalomaniacal moments where he decides he wants to take over the world and/or become a god instead of/in addition to spreading the gospel of chaos and killing people willy nilly — Carnage USA for instance.

    Long story long...
Absolute Carnage had Cletus get reanimated as an undead thrall to Knull (which a lot of fans didn't care much for) before being killed by Eddie Brock. "Venom Island" revealed that Cletus' consciousness, or codex, had survived and was controlling the Carnage symbiote, first seeking to take over Eddie Brock and paint the Earth red in preparation for Knull's arrival, but Eddie seemingly killed him for good again after becoming the King in Black.

Extreme Carnage reveals that Cletus & the Carnage symbiote survived, coming up with a plan to sow even more chaos by exploiting anti-symbiote sentiment in the wake of Knull's invasion. At the end of it, he takes over Iron Man's Extrembiote and merges the Carnage symbiote with it before flying off.

Carnage (Vol. 3) reveals that Cletus was never truely loyal to Knull and planned to backstab him all along to take his power, but after Eddie Brock beat him to the punch Cletus came up with a new plan to attain godhood. He and the Carnage symbiote had a falling out when Cletus decided not to go through with it. Declaring that Cletus was holding it back from attaining its true potential, the Carnage symbiote set out to become powerful enough to commit regicide on Eddie Brock to become the King in Black; while Cletus stayed with the Extrembiote on Earth, torturing and eating people who strayed into St. Estes while waiting for the Carnage symbiote to come to its senses and come back to him.

The Carnage symbiote kills Hydroman and the Spot to steal their powers, then pays Malekith a visit in Hel to obtain his codex from when he bonded to the Venom symbiote in War of the Realms. Going to Nidavelir, it forces one of the last surviving dwarves to forge a new Necrosword, then starts travelling the Multiverse hunting Venoms to hone its powers and become even more powerful by absorbing their symbiotes to gain their powers — Knull being the last stop in this multiversal safari so that it could have the same power Eddie did on top of all the other powers it absorbed.

I recently condensed the above developments and added them to the Carnage symbiote's CM entry on the Cleanup Thread.

The Work

The Legend Of Tian Ding, a Manhua / Metroidvania / Beat 'em Up hybrid game made in Taiwan, and a winner of the 2022 Taipei Indie Game Award. (!!!)

Hell yeah, this game's awesome.

The titular Player Character, Liao Tian-ding, is a Just Like Robin Hood Gentleman Thief (loosely based on an IRL historical figure, if somewhat heavily fictionalized) in 1900s Taiwan, then under Japanese rule - returning to Taipei after a heist and escaping Japanese Inspector Javert Chief of Police, Matsumoto Yuichi, battling local traitors and investigating a corrupt land baron, "Piggy" Wang Wen-Chang, eventually Tian-ding joins the Mansion 28, a newly-established La Résistance front.
From the Mansion 28's leader, Ding Peng, Tian-ding uncovers news of a mysterious artifact called the "Sword of Seven Shackles" in Taiwan's Tarako Gorge, an artifact once wielded by the Pirate Queen, Yao-Hsien; after her death, Yao-Hsien's followers have her sword hidden in a vault inside one of the gorge's caves with three MacGuffins amulets hidden across Taiwan; when combined, the amulets can unlock the vault, and whomever wields the "Sword of Seven Shackles" shall be invincible. At Ding-Peng's behest, Tian-ding goes on a new quest to uncover all three amulets before they fall into the wrong hands.
It was then, the game introduces General Shimada Yunoshin, the recently-promoted Japanese governor and The Generalissimo who oversees ruling of Taipei county. So lets talk Shimada a bit.

Who is General Shimada?

A ruthless Japanese ex-Colonel promoted a decade ago after securing a victory at Yunlin village; in truth, having taking over the place, Shimada has Yunlin Village's population massacred and returns solo where he's granted the General title. And continues boosting his ranks in the Japanese leadership through, erm, underhanded means. Until he's given governorship of Taipei county.

Shimada debuts in a cutscene executing the first boss, "Piggy" Wang, in a You Have Failed Me moment; when Matsumoto reports to Shimada he failed to apprehend Tian-ding over a theft, Shimada publicly beats Matsumoto in front of the other policemen for his failure.

When Matsumoto questions Shimada over the massacre at one point, Shimada gives this chilling reply:

"Keep the Island, remove the populace! That's the best way to rule this country!"

Tian-ding eventually obtains the three amulets while evading local thugs, military soldiers, the Japanese / Taiwanese police led by Matsumoto... in the aftermath of a heist in where Tian-ding fights fellow thief Liang-jiou which Tian-ding mistook to be a traitor working for the Japanese, only for Liang-Jiou to reveal his allegiance on the side of good, Shimada then appears personally trying to ambush Tian-ding, with Liang-jiou Taking the Bullet for Tian-ding to prove he's a good guy.

In the game's third act, Ding Peng reveals himself to be working for Shimada, after Tian-ding managed to collect all three amulets. General Shimada leads a bunch of his men, among them the oft-abused Matsumoto, through Zhouzi Village, a farming settlement; a civilian forbids Shimada from trespassing his land, so Shimada cuts up the civilian via katana (to the horror of Matsumoto and other soldiers) before stomping the guy to death, and to punish Zhouzi Village for their insolence, Shimada orders Matsumoto to slaughter the entire population and burn the place down.

Tian-ding, delivering the three amulets to Ding Peng in the Mansion 28 quarters, was suddenly cornered by enemy soldiers, alongside all the resistance members. Ding Peng reveals himself to be Shimada's agent as Shimada steps in - having Tian-ding restrained while gloating "You led these men to their deaths"... Shimada orders his soldiers to execute everyone in Mansion 28 while Tian-ding is Forced to Watch. Tian-Ding's mentor, Master Zheng Guo-ying and the game's Big Good, uses a powerful chi move to take down several enemies, only for Shimada to brutally kill Master Zheng as well.

Eventually, Tian-ding is staring down the rifle of one of Shimada's men. But then comes a Bait-and-Switch Gunshot... a bullet fired by Matsumoto knocks the rifle aside, saving Tian-ding's life. Matsumoto, disgusted of Shimada's shit and totally NOT OK with carrying out the massacre of civilains, had turned on Shimada, discreetly evacuating Zhongzi Village and performing a Heel–Face Turn. Shimada taunts Matsumoto that his empathy is "the shame of all the police" and he will never live to see his promotion... then leaves the area as reinforcements, led by Ding Peng the traitor, tries restraining Tian-ding and Matsumoto.

After defeating the traitor Ding Peng (a Flunky Boss, but luckily a Breather Boss), Tian-ding realize Shimada had left with the amulets and is heading for Taroko Gorge, to collect the Sword of Seven Shackles. And along the way, bribes Ding Peng's butler Ching Feng, to spread false news that Tian-ding betrayed the Mansion 28, leading to the massacre; Tian-ding and Matsumoto decides to part ways, Tian-ding going to Taroko Gorge to stop Shimada while Matsumoto tries to clear Tian-ding's name.

The final stage in Taroko Gorge sees Shimada sacrificing most of his soldiers to the cavern's many Booby Traps, before reaching the vault, where the Sword of Seven Shackles is stored. Tian-ding arrives... alas, too late, Shimada obtains the sword and kills every remaining soldier in his own platoon to keep the weapon - and the vault's vast treasure - for himself.

Shimada: [realizing Tian-ding is still alive] I shall use your blood to feed the sword!

The empowered Shimada, as a Final Boss, is a Sequential Boss that takes forever to defeat; kill his alternate form and the Sword of Seven Shackles turns him into a Living Shadow who keeps on fighting, the difficulty depending on Tian-ding's skills at this point... eventually, Tian-ding defeats Shimada and knocks him - with the Sword - into a chasm of lava before escaping the collapsing cavern via Stepping Stones in the Sky. (in fact, it's the image source)

Mitigating Factors?

Not a single iota of goodness from this guy. His first major promotion was obtained after commencing the genocide of an entire town, and Shimada keeps climbing the ranks as he gets progressively worse. He displays zero loyalty to the Japanese, hoping to dominate Taiwan by erasing the entire island's population, is a dick to his underling Matsumoto, orders Matsumoto to massacre another village (and in the light of Matsumoto's betrayal, likely intends to wipe out Zhongzi Village himself should he really win the Final Boss fight) and as seen in the finale, have no qualms killing all his fellow soldiers to rule alone.

Heinousness Standard?

The first boss, "Piggy" Wang Wen-Chang, is a Fat Bastard and Hate Sink who defected to becoming Shimada's lapdog... comparisons with Chairman Liu abound, but Wang's worst onscreen deeds are... tea counterfeiting and overcharging rent. And beating up beggars. Plus the guy is killed rather early.

There's also the Blood Knight mercenary, Colonel Nakamura, a Flat Character only meant to provide a boss fight and leave. Nada.

Two other agents, Kawashima Kaguya and Chen Liang-Jiou, are a thieving Battle Couple also after the three Mac Guffins, except they're a Double Reverse Quadruple Agent duo working independently. And hardly has any characterizations, the latter even sacrificing himself to prove he's with the good guys.

The Mansion 28 traitor Ding Peng is probably the only other notable villain. Except he's working with Shimada to take over Taiwan because he believes it can end the war early... the guy's a Well-Intentioned Extremist who thought by surrendering under Shimada's rule, he can help his fellow countrymen leave the island and obtain a better living in the long run.

Should we count General Shimada Yunoshin then?

Another keeper. From a Taiwanese game, no less cool

Here's another villain with uh a rather specific victim type.

What is the work? (Copied from trope page)

Hawaii Five-0 is a re-imagining of the 1968-1980 series Hawaii Five-O that started airing in Fall 2010 and concluded in April 2020, running for 10 years. In the new setting, Steve Mc Garrett is a Navy SEAL whose father is murdered by an international terrorist he had been tracking, triggering the formation of what becomes the Five-0 unit, a special police force that operates above the normal state jurisdictions.

In the season 5 episode "Kahania (Close Shave)", Steve is at the barber, Odell's, shop when a young man named Eran comes in with a gunwound on his leg, saying about how he witnessed a group of men kill someone. Plot stuff happens and Steve ends up being able to confront the one behind the hit, a crime boss named Garig Dobrian who tells Steve the reason behind the hit... and Eran's not exactly the innocent victim he painted himself to be.

Who is Eran Dobrian and what has he done?

The son of crime boss, Garig Dobrian and described by him as a "sick boy touched by the Devil", Eran had a slightly disturbing hobby, child murder. Kidnapping children, Eran would murder them, getting away with it for ages until his father discovered about it. Disgusted, Garig sent a hit squad onto Eran in which Eran plays victim to Steve Mc Garrett to let him be able to escape. When Steve confronts Garig about ordering a hit, Garig explains to Steve about Eran's "hobby", hence why he called for a hit on his own son.

Taking barber Odell hostage as he tries to escape via Garig's boat, Eran eventually gets shot and killed. Afterwards, Steve talks to Garig about the location of the evidence that made him realise his son was a child murderer. The episode ends with Steve looking into the basement of Eran's house and behind a padlocked door— a collection of dozens of children's items such as shoes, clothing and plushies etc and even more harrowing? A stack of photos, each with a picture of a different child that Eran abused and murdered, leaving the The Stoic Steve tearing up.

Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?

No, just no. All we've got is a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing.

Heinous Standard?

A literal no-one in resources having a child victim count of at least 30? (Judging by the photo card stack and the dozens of child items about ), for no discernible reason? For this series, I think that's alright? Child killers are fairly unique in the show I believe. The issue is maybe Offscreen Villainy? We don't realise Eran's actions until the last 10 minutes of the episode and we don't actually see the bodies. Just the trophies and photo card but it's the catalyst for the episode's story so I think it balances it out?

note  (The photocard stack)

Final Verdict?

What say we?

Crossed: Crossed +100 and Mimic: Beauregard Leander Salt is the progenitor of the Salt Clan, who’s responsible for all the misery the heroes currently face, despite being long dead over a century. Once known as “The Phonebook Killer” Salt was so sadistically sociopathic that he was rendered unaffected by the Crossed Virus. Realizing the self destructing nature of The Crossed and wishing to keep his heaven of violence and chaos going indefinitely, Salt orchestrated a ploy to prevent the extinction of the Crossed and draw out the suffering of humanity for as long as possible. Salt would spread his messages and philosophy across the country, making him a prophet figure towards the other Crossed, while experimenting on his numerous members, weeding out hostile ones as he torture and teach The Crossed to become intelligent and able to bide their time. Creating The Salt Clan, promoting several of his most obedient Crossed to leaders across the country, Salt orders all of them to build their strength in numbers and bide their time and within the hundredth anniversary of the outbreak, pull a massive attack to commit their horrid acts, before going back to wait more decades to repeat the cycle. Even after elderly and bedridden, Salt is proud over his actions recreating The Crossed and dies content the world will forever be a hellish nightmare. Even within the dark setting of the comic, Salt is easily the worst of them all.

There's this message from miraculous here, saying that Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 has no CM entries, it wasn't even translated right, Raydrik was the closest candidate but "comparing to everyone in Judgral would be difficult".

Well, the good news is that there is now a proper translation for Thracia 776, so maybe this can be reconsidered - whether Raydrik will join the line of villains from Fire Emblem franchise as yet another Complete Monster. First, I'll analyze the work and the suspect before declaring guiltiness enough for a CM proposal.

The work:

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, a turn-based strategy RPG and the fifth installment on Fire Emblem franchise, with it's original development only for Japan on the Super Famicom. The story in this game is that it takes place as an interquel during the early parts of the second Generation in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. More information can be found here on the Fire Emblem wiki, but in a nutshell:

Leif, once heir to the Republic of Munster and now deposed, who was rescued from an attack by the forces of Thracia, by Finn, a friend of Seliph's father Sigurd. Eyvel, the leader of Fiana Freeblades, helped them take refugee in Fiana, along with Leif's childhood friend, Nanna, and Eyvel's own adoptive daughter, Mareeta. The game starts when Raydrik, the new Duke of Munster, attack sthe village of Fiana in order to capture Leif, in process kidnapping Nanna and Mareeta. From here, Leif, aided with his allies, would start a long-term fight to reclaim back Munster, against the occupying forces in Thracia by Grannvale Empire.

About the candidate:

Raydrik, for most of the game serves as one of the main antagonists/villains. He was originally a general of Conote under the service of King Carl which he helped to enthrone. He manipulates Travant, King of Thracia, into attacking Leonster and annhilating their forces, killing Leonster's King Calf, and then betrays Travant and sells him out to the newly formed Grannvale Empire which conquers Munster District. Duke Bloom which now rules Northen Thracia would instal Raydrik as the Duke of Munster as a reward for assisting in the downfall of Leonster.

He would then assault the village of Fiana, after hearing a report that there is a heir of Leonster hiding there, and in Chapter 1 - he kidnapps Nanna and Mareeta. In Chapter 3, he sets up a trap to capture Leif once he seemingly took control of Fort Kelbeth (Kelves), and once Leif does, he threatens Leif to surrender and drop his weapons or he would do "something very ugly" to Nanna. Leif drops his weapons and surrenders, and Raydrik imprisons him into Munster prison (he also imprisons Lifis as well).

Raydrik also had captured Eyvel as revealed in Chapter 4, and drags her into the arena, while saying that he hasn't laid a finger or Mareeta and Nanna. He "promises" to let Eyvel to see them... then in Chapter 5, Raydrik pits Eyvel against pitfighters in the arena, all while Nanna is also trapped along with her.

But here is where things get ugly: as Mareeta enters in, turns out that she's Brainwashed and Crazy, possessed by the shadow sword that Raydrik has gave her. This is where the YMMV page of Thracia 776 has a conseus that this is where Raydrik has crossed the Moral Event Horizon.

If Eyvel isn't captured, and either Mareeta is incapaciated (either dead or captured), Eyvel calls Raydrik a "hellspawn" and says that she will never forgive him. The latter would be desperate and would've send his entire garrison to kill Eyvel, before Veld, bishop of Loptous Church which he spectated the arena with, would petrify Eyvel. Or alternatively, if Leif opens the otherwise shut door in the arena from the outside (and Eyvel isn't petrified in the first place), Raydrik panics as well, and command his troops to kill everyone (before Veld interrupts and petrifies Eyvel). Regardless, Raydrik then commands Munster troops to kill all of those who would oppose him.

In Chapter 6 he sends Galzus, a mercenary in his service, to kill Leif and anyone with him. However, that fails as Leif escapes. Additionally, in the ending, Raydrik would got information from one of his soldiers that Galzus might turn traitor since he has ties to the once-ruined Kingdom of Issach, and consider disposing him when the time comes (strangely enough, this isn't brought up or referenced anywhere later in the game). In Chapter 7, Raydrik would then send one of his squads in a last attempt to stop the rebels from getting to shelter in Castle Meath, under the guard of Hannibal.

He does not directly appear again until Chapter 24, and it is revealed that Raydrik is not above begging when Veld considered disposing him, revealing his Dirty Coward trait. This is also the chapter whe he is killed, as he could not believe "these children" (Leif and his posse) defeat him. He would beg Veld to save him, to no avail. (His corpse is teleported away and resurrected into one of the Deadlords in the final chapter.)

Overall, Raydrik, while is only the Big Bad Wannabe, signifies himself as someone who isn't just avaricious and cruel, but also will do everything to ensure that he wins. He has no sympathy for children either. He's so much of a slimeball and there is a good reason why Leif and Eyvel really hate him.

Migitating Factors (including Freudian Excuse):

Nope. He has nothing at all that would be say, sympathetical at all. There is a good reason he was listed as a Hate Sink (you can read more on the characters page of Thracia 776). He doesn't have a Freudian Excuse, either. He has all of the vile qualities, with absolutely no chance of redemption.

Heinous Standard:

Well, first of all, Raydrik isn't the final villain - but he's still considered one of the main villains for most of the game, only just a step below Veld, who is then in turn a step below Manfroy and Julius (who are more relevant and dealt with in Genealogy, while Veld is the de facto Big Bad of Thracia 776). There are also other corrupt Barons like him in this game too, but they generally have even less time significance than Raydrik himself, and/or are nowhere as worse as him.

And considering this is one of the earlier games, there aren't much to detail with, but I think to say that Raydrik is this heinous with hardly anyone on his level to match to him. The only people who technically might've done worse than him in mind are Veld and Manfroy, who again are above him in the villain scales in Judgral, and are on roughly similar levels of heinousness. Again, Raydrik literally sends all of his force and treats them like nothing in every attempt to eliminate Leif by any means necessary. For a corrupt member of nobility, that's... quite horrible.

Final Verdict:

Its hard to say, but after some improvement on fan translations, it just sickens me just how vile and heinous Raydrik is, for a game that has relatively shallower writing. He is no Manfroy of course (who is already listed as a CM in Genealogy's YMMV page), but it seems like there is almost nothing that contests Raydrik as a possible CM candidate himself, and I don't have any objection on it!

Also to note, this entire tale of a case seems suspiciously similar to Desaix from Fire Emblem Gaiden, and coincidentally, they have similarities in a corrupt, hedonistic nobles, and a Dirty Coward as well that does not give a fuck care about childrens' lives. If Desaix himself got nominated for CM status with similar atrocities and heinousness, then what are the chances Thracia 776's Raydrik would narrowly avoid the same fate?

But again, it might be possible there are disagreements, so take a time consider reading this.

Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person.

After 8 years since it was announced — and tossed around different studios (allowing for a few knockoffs to profit off the demand) — we are all invited to the pizza party.

What is the work?

Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) is a live-action supernatural horror film based on the hit video game franchise of the same name directed by Emma Tami with Scott Cawthon himself assisting in the development of the screenplay.

The film follows Mike Schmidt, a down-on-his-luck young man who is struggling to pay his bills while caring for his younger sister Abby. However, the window of opportunity opens for Mike when a career counsellor named Steve Raglan suggests he work as a night guard at the defunct Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place an infamous family entertainment center where five kids went missing and were never found.

Worse, he realizes that the members of the animatronic band — Freddy Fazbear; Chica the Chicken ; Bonnie the Bunny; and Foxy the Pirate Fox — are alive and decide they want to make Abby an honorary member of the Fazgang. Will Mike manage to survive the night?

Snoke had also offered to pitch in with the EP as a fellow fan of the franchise.

Who is he?

Like, zoinks, Scoob! I'm the man behind the slaughter!

  • Steve Raglan note , entertainingly played by Matthew Lillard, is an elderly, seemingly nice - yet smug - career counselor who, after Mike lost his security guard job at the mall when he beat the crap out of some poor boy's dad, recommends working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place noting that "the owner couldn't let it go." Gee, wonder why that is...
  • But, of course, there is more to this "Raglan" character. As many already know, Raglan is William Afton (though points deducted for not having him wear a purple suit) - as well as Vanessa Shelly's father in this interpretation — was a psychopathic, sadistic man who specifically targets children. He takes a note from Silver Eyes using a fake identity to hide away.

What does he do?

  • Years ago, he — dressed up as the "Yellow Rabbit" — lured five children to the back of the pizzeria where he murdered them and hid their bodies in the animatronics. After that, he somehow managed to control their spirits through a use of a kid's drawing of the Yellow Rabbit surrounded by the five kids. The kids develop amnesia from the traumatizing experience and actually do not kill people out of choice, rather they are being manipulated by Afton. The animatronics would go on to kill several night guards throughout the years with one poor sap getting his face shredded off.
  • Afton was also responsible for the disappearance of Garrett Schmidt, Mike's younger brother, when Mike went on a picnic with his family. Since then, Mike became a paranoid, restless wreck of his former self saddled down with the guilt over not keeping a watchful eye over Garrett. For added disgust, Afton takes his toy plane as a souvenir and gives it to Vanessa.
  • As for Vanessa herself, she was horrifically abused by her father to the point she became a Womanchild whose childhood was torn to shreds just from living under the roof of a serial killer.
  • When the animatronics appear to befriend Abby, it turns out that it is because Afton is influencing them. Setting his sights on her as his next victim, he has the animatronics slowly act friendly with her until the time comes and she would get stuffed into an animatronic shell becoming one of the many others cursed to be monstrosities.
  • Surprise Sid - I mean Mikey! Mike is able to save Abby from getting stuffed by Chica with Vanessa predictably coming to assist despite being terrified of her father. But then, the Yellow Rabbit appears in all his faded golden glory with Lillard summoning his inner Stu hamminess. Revealing to be Garrett's murderer, Afton sadistically attacks Mike beating him severely while gloating how his sister would "love" joining Freddy and friends.
"Wake up, children! I have something for you to play with! This is gonna be so much fun! Little ones tell me you have a sister. She will love it here!"
  • Before he could kill Mike, Vanessa intervenes shooting her father. Enraged that she was not following his orders, he brutally strangles Vanessa and stabs her in the gut with his knife. Afton looks shocked at what he had done... for about 10 seconds).
  • Seeing that what was keeping the animatronics under his control was the drawing of them with the Yellow Rabbit, Abby creates another drawing showing the animatronics exactly what Afton had done to them (accompanied by the lovely screams of children). With the tables turned on him, Afton angrily rants at the animatronics calling them disgusting abominations and how he gave them life. They attack him with the freaking cupcake delivering the killing blow.
  • As is the case by now regardless of the media, the springlocks become undone and deeply claw into Afton's body making Afton feel a little woozy as he doubles over in agony. Defiant to the end, Afton takes his Yellow Rabbit masks, mocking the animatronics that he always comes back because, let's face it, baby, these days... YOU GOTTA HAVE A SEQUEL! Okay...this is the last Scream joke I promise.
  • With Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place destroyed, Afton is dragged away by the vengeful spirits and is locked away in a saferoom the last we see of him being his painful death throes.

Is he bad enough? (Snoke's contribution)

  • Absolutely. Even easier than his game counterpart I would say. As other heinous villains like Mimic, Circus Baby, etc. do not exist as competition.
  • Afton murders 6 children, including Mike’s brother, in addition to horribly abusing and then trying to kill his own daughter. And in this version? The animatronics are directly said to only kill people because William influences them to do these things. This makes him responsible for the gruesome murders the animatronics get to, like biting the babysitter Max in half and shredding the guard in the opening’s face, and so on. As well as trying to kill Abby so her soul would be bound to the pizzeria like them.

Mitigating Factors? (Snoke's contribution)

  • So he is still a dad in this version........Yeah uh, Vanessa? Means absolute jack to him. He was an abusive father who was bad enough that she is still messed up from it in the present. And he coldly stabs her in the gut in the final act.
  • Yeah he has nothing, dude is a gleefully sadistic nutbar without a redeeming quality in sight. The only concern is that his death scene does blatantly set-up his return should a sequel get made, but in very the off chance they give him something remotely redeeming? We can just talk about it then.

Final Verdict?

Another Afton for the fire.
