Go To

Here is where Gavel and Corkus characters will go.

Gavel

Llevigar Plains

    Zuett & Arrai-Veretel
Two Orcs— a healer and a leader of an Orc camp.
  • The Heart: Zuett describes himself as a bleeding heart, and he's happy to save a random Human (the Player) from being left for dead by the Orc guards without knowing their purpose or reason for entering the Orc camp to begin with.
  • Our Orcs Are Different: Orcs are a strong, proud people with impressive knowledge of natural healing magic. Zuett is also happy to tell the player a creation legend of Greenskins (Orcs, Ogres, and Goblins). Apparently Orcs value the concept of strength, not just brute force. Zuett himself is also in the Orcish minority because he wants peace for a conflict his people didn't start.
  • You No Take Candle: Most Orcs speak like this. Justified in-universe, as they're too busy fighting to properly learn what Zuett refers to as "low Gavellian."

    Elphaba
A Wynnic soldier helping to take back a Villager base from the Orcs.

    Siegfried (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
A man who at first seems to be Gavel's answer to Bob, but as the Player gets to know him, he turns out to be a paid actor named Gurix.
  • Bilingual Bonus: If you happen to have the High Gavellian transcriber on you, you'll be able to see that Gurix's first spell is just "magical magicky magic magicspell"
  • Cash-Cow Franchise: In-Universe, surprisingly! Big enough to have several actors portray Siegfried, and to have its own company.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Siegfried sports one.
  • Foreshadowing: In the aircraft on the way to your adventure, Siegfried is ostensibly piloting, but if you go down to the second floor you'll see the actual pilot, demonstrating he's not all he's cracked up to be.

Olux & Olux Swamp

    Cassiop
"OH, NO, NO. YES! MORE COLOUR, MORE PAINT! I'M OUT OF RED! I'LL JUST USE MY BLOOD! OH! YES! ...INSPIRED!"
A Mad Artist of Gavel, currently living in Olux.
  • Blind Artist: Though an Informed Attribute.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite seeming a bit kooky, as is revealed in the 2023 Festival of the Blizzard, he has a large number of fans, and likes to travel all over the place for artistic inspiraton. He also seems to keep in touch with his fans with help from his assistants, who read their letters aloud to him and help him write responses.
  • Informed Attribute: Nothing in how he acts suggests any sort of visual impairment other than the fact that he says so. It's possible he's old and still able to see, per se, but has extreme light sensitivity or some form of cataracts (not unlike many other great artists such as Matisse and Degas). His impairment is Handwaved in the Festival of the Blizzard, although he never mentions he needs to see things to be inspired.
  • Mad Artist: As evidenced by his page quote, he's rather… interesting. He also suggests there to be legendary animals around Gavel, which turn out to be completely normal, and is surprisingly accepting of the idea of of flying pigs.
  • Significant Anagram: Of Pablo Picasso, the Real Life artist.
  • True Art Is Incomprehensible: His masterpiece is... well, see for yourself. Averted for his Festival of the Blizzard gift "Merry Craftmas," which is a beautiful winter scene note .

    Dr. Urelix

The Light Forest

    Lari
Orphion's Chosen One and the primary force keeping the Decay at bay in Gavel, as well as the main deuteragonist for the Realm of Light quest series. While secure in her morals, these haven't exactly kept her in her god's best graces.
  • Actual Pacifist: Yes, she does kill things from time-to-time (such as the Grootslag from 'The Realm of Light I'), but it's very clear she's dedicated to her ideals and will not give them up unless she absolutely must. However...
    • Badass Pacifist: ...Once she accepts that Orphion's survival (and by and large that of Gavel) depends on her putting an end to the Dernic parasite's life, she not only nearly defeats Bak'al, but goes into a portal to darkness without any knowledge of what's going to be on the other side.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Calls the Player "achara" (meaning "friend" in Irish) throughtout 'The Realm of Light V.'
  • The Cassandra: A recurring problem throughout her life is how little others listen to her. Yes, her pacifism is unfortunately misguided, but she's the one Aldorei Elf we see explicitly disagree with Elder Prometheus' desire to cut down the Guardian of the Forest and warned Mr. Caritat not to build his mansion on the first Decay spot.
  • The Chosen One: By Orphion, the Light Beast. For a moment the Player usurps this role from her, but it's pretty clear by the end of 'The Realm of Light V' that she's earned it back.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: You'd be forgiven for thinking of her as more of a nuisance than anything else until she gets dangerous in 'The Realm of Light V'. See Badass Pacifist above.
  • My Biggest Failure: Being unable to save Dullahan.
  • Mystical White Hair: Part and parcel to her being Orphion's Chosen One.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Dullahan's unfortunate state of semi-immortality is due in part to Lari bringing him to the Lazarus Pit to revive him. Unfortunately, the Light within him had faded, leaving him a husk of the man he once was.
  • One-Woman Army: Despite her slightly one-track pacifism, for the last thousand years she was one of the few, if not the only, person to be doing anything about the Decay.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Toward the end of 'The Realm of Light IV,' she gets fed up with the Player stealing her role as The Chosen One and starts attacking them out of blind rage.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: Sports them in her battle against the Player.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After eschewing her morals about not killing anything, she gives Bak'al a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.

    Dullahan
Lari's companion in fighting the Decay, though sadly he became a victim to it himself.

    Olon
A young Efilim Elf on a quest to find out what happened to his parents. In doing so, he gets far more than he bargained for.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: A self-confessed one, though he's far more justified than other straightforward examples due to his beliefs involving the deaths of his parents. What's more, they end up being Right for the Wrong Reasons.
  • Did Not Think This Through: His attempt to storm the Aldorei Elders comes across as something he wanted to do far more for show rather than as a genuinely well-thought-out plan, especially when he and the Player need to run from the guards.
  • Hidden Depths: Surprisingly, he's done work for the Cinfras Guild Hall organizing documents, has a variety of friends and connections in said guilds, and enjoys gardening in his free time.
  • Hydromancy: He seems particularly gifted with water magic, being able to summon walls of waves to keep guards a safe distance away, and using it to water his plants.
  • Nerd Glasses: Sports a pair to accent his already dorky nature.
  • Noodle Incident: According to his 2023 Festival of the Blizzard dialogue, he once tried to domesticate a Phrumpkin.
  • Redheads Are Uncool: Unlike the Aldorei Elves, he's got red hair, and the Aldorei council of Elders even calls him a ginger as an ad hominem.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: He cottons onto something suspicious going on with Aldorei and Efilim, but thinks it's Aldorei Elves killing Efilim Elves. It's actually crazier than that: Aldorei Elves cut down the original Guardian of the Forest, allowing Elves living in Aldorei to become immortal.
  • Secret-Keeper: He and the Player become this following 'Aldorei's Secret Part II' as they bear the knowledge that the original village elders of Aldorei were responsible for opening the portals in Wynn and the Silent Expanse, along with indirectly causing Orphion's infection.
  • Truth Seeker: After his parents died, he's been on the search for the true cause of their fate.

    Dodegar Bandysnoot & Bulbo
Two Hobbits from the Shiar.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Parodied. Dodegar seems to think of himself as one, and he is indeed capable of making tools from disparate materials… but not very well.
  • Informed Ability: Dodegar is apparently a world-famous Hobbit swordsmith. H Is “ultimate weapon” is severely lacking.
  • Inherently Funny Words: Dodgear Bandysnoot.
  • Self-Parody: Dodegar’s quest “The Ultimate Weapon” was initially one for fetch quests in general. Now it’s a sort of Self-Parody of Wynncraft quests at large.
  • Shoutout: They live in the Shiar, and are explicitly Hobbits. Bulbo’s name is meant to sound like Bilbo Baggins’. However, Bulbo seems more like Frodo, being tormented by an object from which he cannot escape (well, [[until he gives it to you Downplayed Trope]]).

Aldorei

    Psilo
A small gnome in the Gnome Village.

Cinfras & Cinfras County

    Doan
- Lost his passport- H Idden depths: He mentions he has a sweet tooth, and he’s a diplomat.- He likes airship travel and has always dreamed of being a pilot- He works as a mediator and translator (some sort of diplomat/ambassador)- He likes Wynn because people don’t talk about commerce and it’s refreshing compared to Gavel

    The Juggler
A man who runs a business… juggling people as a form of one-way fast travel from Cinfras.
- He’s a bartender who extended his business.- He does seem to want to rule the world on some level, or just become very powerful- Deadpan Snarker: Most of his lines.- The way it works is he just… throws people to their destinations. Yes, it’s just as ridiculous as it sounds. And he can’t say that’s the case because he’d get in legal trouble.- Fantastic Racism: He hates Elves for thinking they’re superior.- Verbal Tic: Most of his lines seem to include him laughing slightly maniacally.

Jofash Docks

    Bread Enthusiast
"I can tell you're a real enthusiast for bread!"
A bread enthusiast and resident of Jofash Docks.
  • Berserk Button: White bread, as well as multi-grain breads ("oatmeal-bran fusion delight" seems to rank pretty low on his list).
  • Cloudcuckoolander: His life seems to revolve around bread, and he genuinely sees bread choice as an indicator of character.
  • DIY Dentistry: During his Motive Rant, he mentions his father using the string-on-a-doorknob trick to help him get rid of a cavity.
  • Does Not Like Spam: He does not like white bread. If you bring him some bread, he'll be overjoyed only to get angry and refuse to speak to you anymore due to you bringing him white bread.
  • Good Ol' Boy: While coming across as a grown Farm Boy (as he was raised on Maltic's farms), some of the wisdom peppered into his words make him come across as the Wynncraft version of one. He even calls himself a humble worker and breadwinner.
  • Motive Rant: His infamous ninety-nine-line-long bread rant is something of one, as to why he's a bread enthusiast to begin with.
  • Motor Mouth: Every few lines of dialogue he'll think of a new subject to talk about, distracting himself.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: "Bread Enthusiast" could be a name due to some of the... interesting other names in Wynncraft, but is probably not. He never actually tells you his real name. He's also known as "Jofash Resident" in the way a generic NPC is.
  • Schmuck Bait: Go on. Keep asking him about bread. You will notice it takes longer and longer before you can skip the dialogue, meaning you're probably going to have to read all of it.
    • If you get through his Motive Rant and ask him to talk even more you will be presented with a potential 564763-line-long rant, and the game will simply end the conversation for you.
  • Tan Lines: Like most other Jofash Dock residents, he has these. Coupled with his discussion about bread and working on Maltic Farm, they come off as a farmer's tan.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Bread, but specifically coarse-ground wheat bread. He will go on a Motive Rant about his favorite types of bread.

    Relend
"My friend... Where do you think we are? Whatever it is, I feel that we're being overseen from afar."

A strange sailor of Jofash Docks looking for an island that may or may not exist in an attempt to find a long-lost friend.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Basically everybody in Jofash Docks will call him crazy, pointing out his obsession with Gateway Island and the fact that he always speaks in rhymes.
    • The Cuckoolander Was Right: But Gateway Island is actually a real place, after all! Not only that, but if his friend is actually ||Bob||, it's highly likely this is the actual place he was lost.
  • Did Not Think This Through: Not even halfway through the voyage, Relend will confess he's never actually captained a boat well in his life, and will ask if you can pitch in and help.
    • This bit about him never captaining well may not be true considering he was once asked to help set sail by his friend, likely ||Bob||.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Somehow the quest manages to end in a way that makes all Relend's rather idiotic choices seem tame: yes, you do find out where Relend's friend ultimately ended up— The Silent Expanse. Alternately, Dern.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Every single one of his lines is a rhyme.
  • Subverted Rhyme Every Occasion: Okay, it's far from every occasion, but he does deliver this gem.
Relend: Nice steering, although your maneuvers are a bit brash. Hey, watch out! I think we're about to-
    • A darker version occurs at the end of 'Fantastic Voyage,' with Relend's last piece of dialogue. He promises to find his friend in his second-to-last line, but the line that would rhyme with it never actually comes, as instead he's screaming in pain.
  • Tempting Fate: At the beginning of 'Fantastic Voyage,' Relend will exclaim that he hopes his map won't be destroyed or stolen, only for a parrot to swoop in and steal it.
  • Uncertain Doom: You can't find poor Relend anywhere after this quest. Seeing as you take extremely rapid, near-fatal damage at the very end of 'Fantastic Voyage' and Relend seen getting tossed to the side, he may or may not be dead.

Molten Heights & Rodoroc

    Axelus
"If I don't get freed we're doomed, you hear me?! We won't survive another war!"
A Hot-Blooded Dwarf on a mission to bring peace between Dwarves and Doguns with his best friend Korzim.
  • Calling The Old Man Out: As a part of his Reason Why You Suck Speech, and overlaps with Calling Parents by Their First Names.
  • Hot-Blooded: He's associated with flames— helping stop Flerisi in ',' befriending Doguns, etc.
  • Last Request: At the end of the Dwarves and Doguns questline, Axelus' dying request is for his father to stop warring with the Doguns. The request is not ignored.
  • Meaningful Name: His father, along with all male ancestors of the Rodoroc bloodline, all have the first name Draani (his father being Draani Thunderwill VIII). By being named differently, Axelus represents a departure from the previous Dwarf kings who have perpetuated the lie that Doguns are demons.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: In 'Dwarves and Doguns I,' he gives a peace offering of a giant dragon bone to the Dogun tribe. It turns out this is used to summon Garaheth later on.
  • The Reason Why You Suck Speech: Delivers one to the Dwarves and Doguns alike at the end of 'Dwarves and Doguns IV'— the Dwarves (especially his father) get a verbal thrashing down about trying to kill an exiled people for glory, and he tells the Doguns off for resorting to summoning a major demon who would’ve easily killed off all the Dwarves and Doguns alike.
  • Rebel Prince: Axelus is one to the King of Rodoroc simply for the latter upholding the lie that the Doguns were evil and dehumanizing them by any means possible.
[/folder]]

[[folder:Korzim]]"You would... You would kill a savior...?"
An exiled Dogun on a mission to bring peace between Dwarves and Doguns with his best friend Axelus.

  • The Exile: His father the Dogun Chieftan Paku is mentioned to have banished him from the Dogun tribe for associating with Dwarves.
  • Human Disguise: At one point in 'Dwarves and Doguns III', he dons a Dwarf disguise.
  • Moving Beyond Bereavement: Discussed during his Festival of the Bonfire dialogue. Just like anyone in his situation, Korzim is confused about how to move on despite knowing it will be for the greater good. He even likens Mastro to Axelus, and seems confused about how to process his feelings.
  • Noodle Incident: At the Bonfire Festival, Korzim mentions the reason it took him so long to arrive was only one cabin of the airship was heatproofed.
  • Rebel Prince: Korzim is the son of the current Dogun Chieftain Paku, and was even exiled for these tendencies.
  • Tragic Bromance: In a move that defied the boundaries set at the time, Korzim and Axelus were best friends in the Dwarf-Dogun Coalition together.
  • Voodoo Shark: A minor, but humorously Lampshaded one. How exactly did Korzim get a fireproof Dwarf outfit?

    King Draani Thunderwill VIII
- Keeping the lie that Doguns are demons, which is something done much in the past.- Wants to bring peace by violence and finishing the Dogun genocide

    The Dogun Chieftans
- Last Resort: Out of fear of another Dogun genocide, Chieftan Paku plans to summon Garaheth.

    Mastro
"It is a point of pride that the nobility in Rodoroc report zero poverty within the city thanks to our donations! And if that should change, if that should be proven wrong, I will SMITE the conditions with an EMERALD-ENCRUSTED GIFT!"
A Dwarf salesman selling overpriced magma crystals
  • Hidden Depths: He takes the ending of the Dogun War surprisingly well, admitting he had never thought to question what he’d been taught about Doguns, and being quite open-minded about working with Doguns.
  • Large Ham: By a long shot he's one of the hammiest characters you'll meet in the whole game, just in terms of his shouting pattern!
- Unusual Occupation: He’s a Dwarf salesman, and an incredibly passionate one at that.- Suddenly Shouting: The random words capitalized in his spoken text give the sense of this.

The Qira Hive

    Gale Nasin
One half of a Battle Couple with her lover the thunder mage Ohms, Gale is a free-spirited air archer currently employed by Qira. Also she's a ghost.
  • All There in the Manual: Her surname, Nasin, is found on her grave.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Being a spirit, she has blue skin, periwinkle hair, and vibrantly green eyes.
  • Berserk Button: Implying her goggles are just for show, or that they may be of Corkian make.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Implied to have one for Ojra, her companion from the Qira Hive she brings to the Festival of the Blizzard. Other than bringing Ojra to begin with, Gale points out she doesn't want people to die on her floor of the Qira Hive so Ojra, who has to clean the rooms, doesn't have to see any bodies.
  • The Goggles Do Nothing: Inverted. Gale will go on a rant about how Corkain googles are for fashion, but hers are for keeping the wind and bugs from irritating her eyes.
  • Hidden Depths: Apparently she loves collecting tacky sweaters and shirts, and has a collection of them in the Qira hive— the Sweater Salesman considers her a his favorite customer, and she thinks of him as a good friend.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: While Ohms' personality is unknown, Gale is every bit the energetic girl.
  • Shipper on Deck: At one point she'll muse about if Sensei Miyagi and Qira have a Secret Relationship, even though she knows Qira is Married to the Job.
  • Spirited Young Lady: Aside from the obvious pun, she was quite clearly one in her lifetime, with a free personality full of energy and a desire to do the opposite of what is expected of her.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Apparently she enjoys funnel cakes.

    Qira, Mistress of the Hive
- Ambiguously Evil- Ambiguous Gender Identity: Qira was originally a male character, but was retconned to being female. Some people have interpreted this as her being transgender, though the canonicity of this is debatable.- Apparently her face turns purple when annoyed (like how peoples’ faces turn red)- Hidden depths: Gale tells you lots of rumors about her. She has a personal stash of chocolate, and is very picky about food.- Ambiguous species- Workaholic: she’s very busy- Trademark favorite food: According to Gale, cherries and cherry juice- Does Not Like Spam: According to Gale, blueberries and Canyon bass.- Benevolent Boss:- Bad Boss:

Canyon of the Lost

    Rhay Kingston
A Corkian engineer stationed in Kandon-Beda trying to help with the Colossus.
- All There In The Manual: His full name is can be found out in an uncommon event with the Seaskipper Captain where the Captain gives you his wedding invitation.- Happily married: To Maxie.- So Now What?: now that his work with the Colossus is done, he feels a bit aimless in life.

The Sky Islands

    Chef Hamsey
- French Cuisine Is Haughty- Gratutious French: As Chef Hamsey, he peppers everything with a little too much French.- Maurice Chevalier Accent: Again, as Chef Hamsey.- Retcon: At one point The Cook was the same character as Chef Hamsey, but this was changed because having two versions of the same NPC at different points in their life on the map at the same time was strange- Shoutout: To Chef Gordon Ramsay- Supreme Chef: He cooks up a Craftmas dinner in a “mesermizing” spectacle, which gives you a whopping +25% Health Regen, +15% Main Attack Damage, and +15% Spell Damage— for ten minutes.

Corkus

Corkus City

    Maxie Lundelgrove

A Corkian engineer and electromage.

- All There In The Manual: His full name is can be found out in an uncommon event with the Seaskipper Captain where the Captain gives you his wedding invitation.- Fanboy: In the Festival of the Blizzard 2022, Ava mentions a “pirate-looking guy” stopping by and Maxie freezing up. If you’ve played The Hero of Gavel or seen the giant statue of Siegfried, you might connect the dots and realize Maxie is also a fan of Siegfried’s travels.- Happily Married: To Rhay, a Corkian engineer who appears in The Breaking Point. The two marry in the time between the Festival of the Blizzard and The Breaking Point, although Rhay is mentioned in the former event.- Non-Action Guy: He’s not exactly the adventurous type, though eh does want to put an end to the mech problem.- Viewer Gender Confusion: In the Fallen Factory Quest, due to the lack of gendered pronouns referencing him and his gender-neutral name, several players were unsure of his gender. In The Feathers Fly pt. 2, he’s confirmed to use masculine pronouns.- Waistcoat of Style: Sports one in his Fallen Factory skins. Later on when he joins the council, he’s wearing a long, red coat.- You Never Asked: Seems to be a running theme with him— not only does he forget to inform the player that he’s a part of the Corkian council, he neglects to mention to the player that he’s married.- A bit clumsy, but endearingly so- Unusual phenotype: He has white hair and blue eyes, but is pretty clearly dark-skinned.

    Sybil
- Jerkass- According to Maxie she’s just very vocal about her opinions- Unusual Phenotype: Like Maxie, she has light hair and dark skin.

    Efena

    Dr. Herbert von Legendary
The operator of Legendary Island.- Curb Stomp Battle: He once asked Qira for permission to use her likeness in Legendary Island. It did not go well.- Florence Nightingale Syndrome: A rare male example. According to his Festival of the Heroes dialogue, he met his wife Hilda when he was working as a chiropractor.- Friendly Address Priviliges: When he’s not working Legendary Island, he asks for the player to call him by his first name, Herbert.- Hidden Depths: His doctorate is in chiropractic, and he has a wife and son.- Ridiculously Human Robots: Apparently the Dr. von Legendary you fight on Legendary Island is a mech he made.- The Von Trope Family: He has a wife, Hilda von Legendary, and a son, Hector von Legendary. Family Theme Naming much?

Avos Territory

    Ava
An Avo electromage who blends electromagic with traditional Avos magic.
- Action Girl- Black Sheep: For the Avos.- Broken Bird: Slightly literally on the “bird” part. She’s been kicked out of the Avo tribe’s land for practicing electro magic, and her status as an Avo stops her hopes of having her inventions recognized by Corkian humans. She has a lot of self-esteem issues, probably stemming from this.- Hidden Depths: If you give her the azure outfit, she’ll mention she’s always wanted to travel overseas. She once also tried to fly away to Wynn after an argument with her parents.- Despite her spunk, she’s quite shy and anxious around people and has some self-esteem issues- She calls Maxie “cute” in the Festival of the Blizzard- Very enthusiastic- Social anxiety: she has a tendency to be stressed uot by people
