Spike has never had any luck in terms of dating or having a girlfriend. And just when his luck changes it only gets worse when he gets killed on a date, only to be revived with the power of a dragon. With a new power and a group of magical girls to help guide him his new life may very well be better than his old life.

  • All Your Powers Combined: When Spike has sex with any one of the girls in his harem he gains their superpowers. This is what he becomes after having sex with all of them.
  • Arc Villain: The villains for the original fic are mostly comprise of members from the Legion of Doom:
    • Chapters 1 to 17 has Nightmare Moon and her Co-Dragons, Trixie and Descent.

  • Ascended Extra: Stone Edge was originally a minor OC in The Girls Of My Life, another Spike harem fic made by Wildcard25. Here he becomes The Mentor to Spike, and is given a Love Interest and an important Backstory
  • Asshole Victim:
  • Battle Harem: This is what the Mane 6 are to Spike.
  • Big Damn Heroes: It's a pretty regular occurrence in this story for backup to arrive at opportune times.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: A fair number of the main villains and Monsters of the Week are this.
  • Expy: Several:
    • Spike is obviously one to Issei Hyoudou, both being chivalrous perverts who get killed on their first date and are resurrected.
    • Bahamut is one to Ddraig, both powerful dragons sealed away in the protagonist.
    • Twilight Sparkle is one to Rias Gremory, both being nonhumans attending the same school as the main character, as well as bring him back to life when he's killed.
    • Rarity is one to Akeno Himejima, both being the most flirtatious to the main character and has the largest bre- ASSETS of the main female characters.
    • Fluttershy is one to Asia Argento, both being the kindest and timidly out of the girls.
    • Snips and Snails are one to Matsuda and Motohama, both being friends of the lead male protagonist, and are just as perverted as he is.
    • Shining Armor is one to Sirzechs Lucifer, both being the older brother to the leading female protagonist.
    • Discord is one to Azazel, both being mentor-like figure to the team and very unpredictable.
  • Fanservice: Given the source material, this should be obvious.
  • Harem-Powered: Spike is able to gain the powers of his teammates by having sex with them.
  • Interspecies Romance: Spike (Human/Dragon) has romanced different kinds of races like Ponies (Twilight Sparkle, Lyra Heartstrings, Bonbon (Sweetie Drops), Vinyl Scratch, Fleur De Lis, Treehugger, Spitfire, Fleetfoot, Sapphire Shores, Lotus Blossom, Aloe, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Saffron Masala, Sunshine Smiles, Moonlight Raven, Swoon Song, Dear Darling, Fond Feather, Sassy Saddles, Prim Hemline, Photo Finish, Coco Pommel, Inky Rose, Daring Do, Cherry Jubilee, Lily Lace, Starlight Glimmer), Humans (Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Sunset Shimmer, Rara, Maud Pie, Limestone Pie, Marble Pie), Dragon (Dragon Lord Ember), Zebra (Zecora), Sirens (The Dazzlings) etc.
  • Polyamory: Much like the source material. Currently, Spike's harem has 38 girls, including Dragon Lord Ember, Sapphire Shores, Fleur De Lis, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, to name a few. Oh, and Spike's part of Fleur De Lis' harem, which has both stallions and mares in it.
    • Here's the full list so far: Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Sunset Shimmer, Lyra Heartstrings, Bonbon (Sweetie Drops), Vinyl Scratch, Fleur De Lis, Treehugger, Maud Pie, Limestone Pie, Marble Pie, Spitfire, Fleetfoot, Dragon Lord Ember, Countess "Rara" Coloratura, Sapphire Shores, Lotus Blossom, Aloe, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Saffron Masala, Sunshine Smiles, Moonlight Raven, Swoon Song, Dear Darling, Fond Feather, Sassy Saddles, Prim Hemline, Photo Finish, Coco Pommel, Inky Rose, Daring Do, Cherry Jubilee, Lily Lace. And there will be more in the future.
  • Really Gets Around: Unlike Issei, Spike has had sex with his harem mates, starting with Twilight as a birthday present. He even had sex with both his harem and all or the girls in Fleur's harem at the same time!
  • Spirit Advisor: As Twilight mentions, the soul of the Dragon King Bahamut is contained within the Fire Ruby that healed Spike. Spike finds out later that Bahamut can talk to him, so Bahamut ends up as his mentor.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Spike, Snips and Snails are this to each other. They regularly tease each other and as Spike gets more attention from women the other two grow increasingly jealous. Regardless, they consider each other to be the best of friends.

  • Adaptational Villainy:
    • Trixie Lulamoon willingly worked for Nightmare Moon in contrast to the Shadowbolts who were brainwashed and crazy and she was the one who killed Spike in the first place. Subverted however, after Nightmare Moon's defeat.
    • While Prince Blueblood was no peach in the original series, he's even worse here. He was a mole for Nightmare Moon and was more than willing to sell out his own Family and kingdom if it meant that he would get to have the throne.
  • Back from the Dead: Just like in the source material.
    • Spike dies again when he use too much energy during his berserk mode causing Twilight and Spike’s harem mourned him. But as Twilight was crying for him, her magic from her horn drawn to Fire Ruby (the object that resurrected Spike), causing the object to glow more brightly which bring Spike back to life.... again.
  • Canon Character All Along: Descent is actually a Brainwashed and Crazy Flash Sentry.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Spike's first encounter with the changelings is followed by calling Twilight, casually speaking with her and inviting her to his location. But after that, he loses his cool and screams that he's under attack.
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: Spike's first meeting with Applejack. He goes into an Internal Monologue on Applejack's attractive features and ends up calling her an Amazon out loud. She happily takes the compliment.
  • Dirty Coward: Nightmare Moon's mole, Prince Blueblood. When Nightmare Moon's forces begin a battle this guy ends up hiding under a table. And when the heroes successfully purify Nightmare Moon, he tries to run away.
  • Easily Forgiven:
    • After the defeat of Nightmare Moon Trixie is sentenced with community service and granted a role as Princess Luna's apprentice despite their admitted willingness in the Evil Plan and murdering Spike at the beginning of the story.
    • This is justified for the Shadowbolts because they were Brainwashed and Crazy.
    • As a contrast with the above two, this is averted with Prince Blueblood. Their role in Nightmare Moon's plan is given a full criminal punishment.
    • Zig-Zagged with Spike. Once Spike’s no longer on the influence from Dazzlings, he apologized to his harem for things he did to them while being influenced by Dazzlings and while the girls have no hard feeling about Spike’s temporary Jerkass behavior toward them, they won’t let him off the hook easily and they made him the butler for them in order for him to make a lot of effort to earn the girls’ forgiveness for him.
  • Evil Power Vacuum: Even though our heroes have finally taken down the Legion of Doom for good, in the epilogue Bahamut warns Spike that, sooner or later, other dark forces will take their place. And it ends with Tempest Shadow informing the Storm King of Tirek's demise.
  • Fantastic Racism: Spike's first two trips to Equestria leaves him feeling uncomfortable as a dragon among ponies. Prince Blueblood being openly racist doesn't help. Fortunately, he does end up proving himself to Equestria by helping to defeat Nightmare Moon.
  • First Kiss: Spike and Twilight have it with each other.
  • Fun Size: Spike loses his adolescent aura to a lamia and turns into a kid, much to his embarrassment and the girls' delight.
  • Hate Plague: Not as big as from the canon but The Dazzlings use their magic and music to turn Spike against his harem causing him to temporarily Took a Level in Jerkass toward them while feeding off his negative energy and taking away his powers.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Grogar unwittingly turned Spike into a giant berserker in an attempt to take control of him, to say that it backfired on the old goat would be an understatement.
  • I Was Beaten by a Girl: Spike loses a sparring match against Fleur De Lis, but he considers it Worth It since the position she had him locked in accidentally let him get a look up her armor, much to her embarrassment.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia:
    • Inflicted by Twilight upon Snips and Snails to ensure that they do not remember Spike mentioning Trixie.
    • Inflicted by Nightmare Moon upon Princess Luna in order to protect the identities of the Legion of Doom.
  • Left the Background Music On: Inverted. Pinkie interrupts the beginning of a battle against Nightmare Moon in order to put on some appropriate music.
  • Love-Interest Traitor:
    • Trixie Lulamoon. She is the girl who takes Spike on his first date and murders him at the beginning of the story.
    • The Dazzlings. They seduce and brainwash Spike under Tirek's orders. But they end up having a change of heart.
  • Magic Pants:
    • Spike lampshades how turning into a dragon somehow does not ruin his clothes, despite the fact he grows a tail every time he transforms.
    • Averted in the fight with the lamia. Spike's clothes do not shrink with him when he's turned back into a child. Nor do they grow with him when he gets his adolescent aura back.
  • The Mole: Nightmare Moon is revealed to have one within Canterlot. It's Prince Blueblood.
  • The Name Is Bond, James Bond: How Sunset Shimmer first introduces herself to Spike.

  • Origins Episode: Each of Spike's teammates gets a chapter where they tell Spike how they ended up becoming part of the group.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: Much like his expy, Spike's death at the beginning of story kickstarts the plot.
  • Shout-Out: The chapter "Dragon Breath" is a reference to the American Dragon: Jake Long episode of the same name.
  • Taking the Bullet: Spike almost blasts Trixie with his fire breath when he first fights her and Descent, but Descent ends up jumping between them to take the shot.
  • That Was Not a Dream: When Spike wakes up in his bed the day after Trixie kills him, he becomes partially convinced that it was All Just a Dream. Twilight later informs him that it really happened.
  • The End... Or Is It?: Spike and the girls have finally defeated Tirek, the last member of Legion of Doom, for good and peace is restored. However, in the last chapter Bahamut warns Spike that there are other dark forces out there and the last scene is the Storm King planning his own invasion of Equestria upon hearing Tirek's death.
  • Their First Time: In Chapter 56 Spike's final birthday present from Twilight is her virginity. The other girls soon followed. Oh, and Spike somehow gains part of their magic after he's had sex with the Elements of Harmony. Yep, Spike gets stronger when he has sex.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: A usual occurrence.
    • Subverted with Prince Blueblood he tries to escape after Nightmare Moon's defeat but Spike catches him trying to sneak off.

  • Christmas Episode: "Christmas Guests" is this.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: While Tempest and the Storm King put up a decent fight with Spike and Twilight, the rest of their troops...weren't as lucky as they got burnt, poisoned, hypnotized, etc.
  • Didn't Think This Through: The Storm King honestly thought he could waltz into Canterlot and defeat the princesses, our heroes, and the other delegates. One curb-stomping battle later...
  • Halloween Episode: "Nightmare Night" and "Haunted Castle" are this.
  • Happily Married: Spike mentions that during the time skip he and Twilight got married in Equestria.
  • Internal Reveal: In 'The MILF Fantasy' Velvet reveals to Twilight the reason why Spike was dreaming about her is because she went to the apartment and was being The Tease to him and flirty with him, Twilight was not happy about this.

While in the following chapter 'A Forbidden Experience' it shows what would've happened if Spike and Velvet did have sex, while unknown to them was actually Luna linking their dreams together to make them feel like it was really happening.
    • It got briefly Deconstructed in 'The MILF Fantasy' when Spike’s sexual feeling toward MILFY figures almost cause his marriage with Twilight to fall apart after she heard him muttered her mom’s name, although it got Subverted when Twilight and girls decide to transform into their mothers/aunts/role models to give the best MILFY experience to Spike.
  • Time Skip: Three years have passed since the defeat of Tirek.
  • Underestimating Badassery: The Storm King begrudgingly lampshades this after Spike and the girls mopped the floor with his soldiers.
  • Villain Episode: Jack McCallister is the focus of both 'Evil Spectating Observer' and 'Jack's Equestrian Research', especially the latter since it doesn't feature Spike at all.
