  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: As Christmas Present she looks completely slushed.

  • Odd Job Gods: One of her titles is Goddess of Skiing. This makes her incredibly athletic, dextrous, and coordinated — even compared to other daimons. Give her a pair of skis, ice skates, or a snowboard and she'll make any past Olympic gold medalist master look like an amateur. She also has exceptional winter skills. There is a reason she is, and always will be, the First Warden of Nóatún.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Her normally auburn hair turns white due to the power of Christmas, although it goes back to red when she's drunk.

The Krampus, a satyr who works alongside his good friend Santa Claus, punishing naughty children if they misbehave. He's also the keeper of Santa's reindeer.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Instead of kidnapping or eating naughty children, he merely punishes them and tries to Scare 'Em Straight.

Still, he is not afraid to discipline naughty children.
  • Horned Humanoid: He fittingly has goat horns.
  • I Have Many Names: He's known as Devac, Julbocken, Rauhen, Schabmänner and Yule Goat.
  • The Krampus: As his name implies, though since he's a Greek satyr, it used to be Krampos.
  • The Mentor: He has become the mentor of Blay, helping him tend to Santa's reindeer.
  • One-Gender Race: Satyrs and Nymphs are actually the same subspecies of Daimon, with all satyrs being male while all nymphs are female.

  • Blood Magic: Blood Reading is an ability that allows Perchta to inspect freshly spilled blood to gain insight into its origin. Through closer visual examination, which may include touching or tasting, Perchta may gain further knowledge. • Familiar: Her familiar is a Yule Cat named Gespenst.
  • Hot Witch: Perchta is a witch with an unknown patron. She has access to sorcery, specializing in erotomancy and various nature spells and rituals. She is also more durable and more difficult to harm than other elves.
  • I Have Many Names: Beracht, Berchta, Bereht, Berhtaz, the Red Spinner.
  • Lady in Red: She wears an elegant red dress.
  • Life Drain: Having became a huldra, Perchta must feed on some degree of energy absorbed from her romantic partners to sustain life.
  • Mysterious Past: Her actual age and backstory are unknown, and not even Santa himself is completely sure why she left her previous duties as a warden.
  • The Older Immortal: She's been at Nóatún since the beginning of the reign of Boreas as Njord, and it's estimated she was born around 700 BCE, making her over 2000 years old.
  • Pretty in Mink: She also wears a mink coat and hat over her red dress.
  • Red/Green Contrast: She's the Red Spinner in contrast to Holle's green.
  • Sex Magic: Perchta is a huldra (or "sex mage" — also called a 'spinner'), something akin to an elven succubus. Using this ability, Perchta can drain others of energy (magic, psychic, or other) and psionic information when engaging in intimate acts, such as kissing, embracing, fondling, or more carnal engagements. The more intimate the act, the more Perchta can glean and the more power she can take from the target.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Perchta can communicate with animals as simply as easily as elves and other sapient beings. Animals in the wild treat Perchta as one of their own — with the exception of felines.

    Frau Holle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/frau_holle_earth_27.jpg

  • It Was a Gift: Sometimes, in lieu of magical endowments or good fortune, Holle's lovers would wake up to find that Holle had left a lump of coal (or charcoal) in their show. When the token were held by its intended recipient, it would emit a strong sensation of regret — often giving them a strong desire to change. Many of the foolish would discard this token too hastily, but the wise would cherish it, for if they kept the coal and reflected upon its power as Holle intended, they often found their willpower up to the task of making the necessary changes needed to rise up from their past or traumas.
  • Life Drain: As a huldra, Holle must feed on some degree of energy absorbed from her romantic partners to sustain her own life.
  • Pointy Ears: She has pointy ears like most elves.
  • Red/Green Contrast: She's the Green Spinner in contrast to Perchta's Red.
  • Sex for Services: Holle can grant good fortune to one of her lover through a combined eromantic and essomantic process. This forturne usually is a minor magical insight, ability, or knowledge with a focus in a particular field, usually associated with the wilderness.
  • Sex Magic: Holle is a huldra (or "sex mage" — also called a 'spinner'), something akin to an elven succubus. Some say she was the first huldra (with at least one source claimin that the etymology of huldra meaning 'Warden of Holle'). Using this ability, Holle can drain others of energy (magic, psychic, or other) and psionic information when engaging in intimate acts, such as kissing, embracing, fondling, or more carnal engagements. The more intimate the act, the more Perchta can glean and the more power she can take from the target.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Holle can communicate with animals as simply as easily as elves and other sapient beings. Animals in the wild treat Perchta as one of their own — with the exception of felines, which tend to view her as a hostile entity and will either keep a good deal of distance or attack her upon detection.

    Yule Cat
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yule_cat__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dgmvtd7_fullview_7.jpg
Also known as Cat Sidhe, they're the apex predators of Nóatún's wilderness, although some can be tamed and turned into familiars.
  • The Ageless: A Cat Sidhe appears to be immortal, living until killed or starved.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: A Cat Sidhe's brightly-colored tail hums with magical energy. Should an organic creature touch it, they are likely become stunned by the paralytic magic.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Yule Cat is not a very intimidating name for a type of feline larger than a tiger that is known to attack and kill elves.
  • Horror Hunger: Cat Sidhe require an intake of magic. Though they can maintain life through ambient absorption through their environment, they require devouring lifeforms with magical ability/potential to fully nourish themselves. That includes humans with magic and elves.
  • I Have Many Names: They're known by many names; phantom cat, kaska, demon cat, splintercat, ball-tailed cat, bakeneko, digmaul, silver cat, Blue Mountains panther, Cheshire Cat, British Big Cat, Carbuncle, cat-sidhe — just to name a few.
  • Invisibility: A Cat Sidhe can make itself unseen through a particularly potent Sidhean glamour. This glamour is so effective, that most Cat Sidhe remain invisible to creatures that are usually able to perceive most forms of magical invisibility. As glamours usually have a tell, the Cat Sidhe's eyes (and sometimes its teeth) will remain invisible.
  • Panthera Awesome: They are a species of feline the size of an actual sabretooth cat.
  • Super-Senses: Cat Sidhe have remarkable senses. They can smell blood or essence use from miles away, and can hear frequencies that humans cannot.
  • Super-Speed: Cat Sidhe are said to be able to dodge subsonic gunfire, even when ambushed. At top speed, they can outrun most modern sports cars.
  • Super-Strength: A Cat Sidhe's claws can tear through a car in seconds. They have been known to plow through brick walls and topple over trees to pursue their prey.

Elves of Nóatún

    In General
  • Author Avatar: They are all based on important members of the Earth 27 Community.
  • Long-Lived: They aren't truly immortal, but they live for so long they appear to.
  • Non-Heteronormative Society: All elves so far are pansexual.
  • No Nudity Taboo: Turns out elves don't mind bathing together, even if there are humans present.
  • Our Elves Are Different: Elves are a species which is descended from prolonged interbreeding between daimons and fae in the realms of Alfheim. Interestingly, despite their ethereal heritage, elves are naturally corporeal (but can learn to become incorporeal). There are six known subspecies of elves.
  • Pointy Ears: Of course they have them, they're elves.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Thanks to their Fae ancestry, elves are weak to pure, un-forged, Cold Iron. And thanks to their Daimon ancestry they're vulnerable to adamant.

    Zanoni
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zanoni_earth_27.jpg

Santa Claus' bodyguard, she spends the eleven other months of the year gathering intelligence for the all-important List.

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Her skin is ash-colored and her eyes are red.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She might be a Dark Elf, but she's completely loyal to her adoptive parents, helping Santa Claus infiltrate without getting caught.
  • Doorstep Baby: She was abandoned at birth under a tree of Nóatán, her mother apparently dying in childbirth while her father never returned from war.
  • Good Stepmother: While their marriage was brief, she truly loved the dark elf Lupiet and considers his sons Aquilor and Lupinor to be her children too.

  • New Old Flame: She and her old lover, former highwayman Lupiet, rekindled their relationship when he moved to Thrymheimr, even marrying in secret until his untimely death fighting a Yule cat.
  • Pride: Her biggest flaw is that she's rather prideful.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's over 300 years old, which is rather young for an elf.
  • Stealth Expert: Her ability to blend in with shadows or her ashy skin seems to have created the myth of the figure of Zwarte Piet (or "Black Pete") among the Dutch, who was either a Spanish Moor or an elf whose skin was stained with soot from traversing so many chimneys. But neither of these are the truth, nor is this "Piet" even a male. But Zanoni is not easily offended by these mistakes. She takes it as credit to her great stealth.
  • Super-Senses: Her hearing is much more acute than a human's.
  • The Tease: Teases Abe Sapien a bit due to his awkwardness at seeing her Skinny Dipping in front of him.
  • You Remind Me of X: Abe can't help comment she reminds him of an elf he had a deep connection to.

    Halida
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/halida__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_deazps1_fullview.jpg

Warden of Nóatún and second in-command for Skadi Claus.

  • Blood Magic: Halida can inspect fresh blood to gain mystical insights into the origin of the blood. Through visual assessment, touching, or sampling the blood on her tongue, Halida can gain further insights. A full examination would allow her to know whose blood was spilled, the nature of its spilling, if there are abnormal qualities to the blood, and if there is any other nearby. This aptitude also gives Halida greater awareness of any freshly spilled blood in her sensory range.
  • Braids of Action: Has her hair tied in twin braids and she's an extremely skilled hunter and tracker.
  • Great Detective: Halida is well-versed in criminal investigations, with centuries of experience.
  • Happily Married: For over sixty years she and Qemera had a happy marriage until her sudden disappearance.
  • High Priest: This is one of her duties as Warden of Nóatán.
  • Light Is Good: She's a Light Elf, has blonde hair and wears a white rangers cloak, and she has dutifully and skillfully served at her post for centuries.
  • The Lost Lenore: Her wife Qemora disappeared over a decade ago and she doesn't know what happened to her.
  • Mage Marksman: By naming her arrow before it is shot, Halida can give it a destiny and mentally direct its path, allowing the arrow to fly without being affected by wind, weather, or gravity and even allowing it to steer around obstacles. However, the arrow must continue to move at its fired pace and it must find the end of its destiny at some point.
  • Master Archer: Halida is an archer of such skill that she is comparable to legendary archers such as the Fable Robin Hood and the costumed crimefighter Green Arrow.
  • Number Two: The position of Warden of Nóatán is considered the third highest one, making her number two of Skadi.
  • Opposites Attract: The dutiful, honor bound Halida fell in love with the free spirited Qemara.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's over seven hundred years old, but remains youthful-looking due to being an elf.

    Niko Moroz

  • Nervous Wreck: He's overly analytical and can get really stressed, especially that one time Jack Frost stole Santa's List as a prank.
  • Not So Stoic: If his work is ahead of schedule, you might see him crack a smile while drinking hot cocoa and bantering with another elf in the kitchen. Also, he's much more relaxed for the last week of December and first week of January, where he can be found enjoying himself at the saunas, restaurants, and parks in Nóatún.
  • The Older Immortal: He might look the same age as all the other elves, but he's over a thousand years old.
  • Oral Fixation: Niko is known to gnaw on candy canes when he's stressed. This started when Santa began shoving a candy cane in Niko's mouth whenever he wanted the elf to stop talking and just do what was asked.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: He's the keeper of Santa's list, far from a fighter who dresses in red and black, while his twin sister Nika is a warrior who serves as Santa's bodyguard, dressed in blue and white.
  • Pride: One of his weaknesses is that he's rather prideful, especially towards his work.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sandan__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_deazozg_fullview.jpg

  • Mr. Fixit: Sandan's "Miracle Fix" let him fix objects made of natural materials by cupping the damaged part in his hands and willing it whole. He can even heal minor injuries, but doing so requires great effort and weakens him.
  • The Older Immortal: He's over a thousand years old, but like Niko, he looks the same age as most elves.
  • The Rival: He considers Niko his rival.
  • Super-Empowering: With his "Master's Hand" aptitude, Sandan can bestow his own talented carpentry and toymaking skill on others for approximately six hours' time.
  • Supernaturally Young Parent: He's over one thousand years old but looks the same age as his seventy-something year old son Mellowydd, due to both being elves.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Sandan is borderline addicted to wassail (a hot mulled cider). On the clock, he pays regular visits to the communal wassail bowl in a refreshment cupboard between the toy shops in Thrymheimr. When he's off the clock, he often drinks himself into a good stupor at the end of his work day, indulging regularly from the much more potent wassail bowl in his room or in any of Nóatún's drinking halls.

  • Alternate Self: She's the elf version of Rose Walker and one of the Pyglets.
  • Kiss of Life: With a kiss, Qemara can temporarily impart some of her own life-force to another to stabilize an injured or mortally wounded person, tying their health to her own. While sharing her life-force in such a way, Qemara has access to much of their recent memories. Qemara can release her life-force from the other at will or will regain her life-force automatically upon the other's death (though the shock of "sharing death" will usually weaken Qemara, often rendering her unconscious for several hours).
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Qemara is a sensual elf prone to aggressive flirting and can be easily distracted by an attractive being of any sapient race (regardless of gender). She also regards sex as a spiritual practice akin to prayer or meditation and her religious rituals may be mistaken for promiscuousness by those unaware of her particular faith.

  • Teleportation: By stepping behind a tree, Qemara can enter the 'Lost Woods' (an elven name for the floral intrinsic field more commonly known as the Green) and choose to remain there or teleport herself behind another tree near the first. Using this technique, Qemara can quickly navigate a forest, fitting from one tree to another.
  • Walking the Earth: She spent 300 years traveling different realms, healing and living away from all others, until one day she returned to Noatun with a young son.

  • Braids of Action: His beard is braided, and he certainly is an dwelf of action.
  • Comfort Food: His wife knows the recipe for a "cup of love", a special peppermint-flavored hot cocoa that gives him better stress-coping ability. He has been drinking this daily for over a century.
  • The Engineer: Fusquod is a gifted mechanic, tinkerer, inventor, electrician, and tradesman. He is also skilled in carpentry, plumbing, welding, and machining.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Has a scar running across his right, the opposite of Belsnickel's scar.
  • Half-Breed Discrimination: While never outright bullied or discriminated, he was constantly teased by both Elves and Dwarves.
  • Manly Facial Hair: Both dwarves and swarthy elves grow beards, and he has a pretty manly braided beard that represents his determination and toughness.
  • Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid: He's a Dwelf, a Half-Dwarf and Half-Elf. His mother was a Dwarf and his father a Swarthy Elf.
  • Official Couple: Married to Panacea.
  • Odd Name Out: Unlike most Elves who only have one name, he has a last name that's his mother's Clan Name.
  • Pride: Fusquod has a powerful sense of self-worth. He will not tolerate insults. This pride extends for those he cares for, mainly his wife, his best friend Sandan, his benefactors, and those he considers to be genuinely innocent persons.
  • Percussive Therapy: Fusquod can usually work out his daily frustrations in his smithy, pounding away at metal. However this is not always enough.
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: Having Blay as an apprentice was a miserable experience for the both of them, with Blay constantly pranking and trying to embarrass Fusquod in front of Panacea, and Fusquod constantly punishing Blay for his ill thought out pranks.
  • Super-Empowering: Fusquod can instill a portion of his consciousness into a forge or other objects he is familiar with. While Fusquod's fragment remains with the object, Fusquod can sense its location. He can also sense its condition and is aware of what happens around the object. Fusquod can have a single fragment imbued with an object.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: His arms have runic tattoos to honor his dwarven heritage.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Not really ugly, but Fusquod is gruff-looking due to his dwarven heritage, while Panacea is pretty beautiful like most Elves.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: Even without using his arcane aptitudes, Fusquod is a legendary blacksmith, able to create legendary weapons, armor, and other assorted gear from metal.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Fusquod has "Melkav Adrol" (dwarven: 'bloody rage'). When angered, Fusquod needs to act out violently. This need for violence may not be immediate or deadly; however it will press upon his mind and build gradually until released. Should he not before he reaches his 'boiling point' of stress, his meltdown will be immediate and volatile.
  • Weapons of Their Trade: Fusquod's personal warhammer Hljanramolbrut is host to many enchantments that make it indestructible, lighter and hit harder in Fusquod's grip.

    Safyrra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/safyrra_earth_27.jpg
The Housekeeper of Noatun.
  • Cool Big Sis: She was this for her goddaughter Mab'ze.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Being unable to decide what path in life to take and never taking her journey of self-discovery made her anxious and unable to find her way for over 50 years. It wasn't until Skadi Claus made her their housekeeper to finally find a purpose.
  • Gut Feeling: Her "Finding Good Help" aptitude. When confronting a problem pertaining to Thrymheimr, its lord, or its lady, Safyrra can reflect on the required solution and gain a mystical insight into who, if any, within the walls of Thrymheimr or on the grounds of its estate has the necessary ability to complete the task. Whether they are willing or available is another matter.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Safyrra has an innate sense for what residents and guest of Thrymheimr need to bring them to a state of bliss, even if the target of this effect has no idea what they need themselves. This ability does not always reveal the best solution to a problem, nor is it always easily accomplished. Safyrra can only use this ability a few times per day before she gives herself a rather excruciating headache.
  • Nervous Wreck: At least when it comes to traveling. Safyrra cannot bring herself to leave Nóatun without bringing a good deal of Nóatún going with her. This usually requires her to travel with at least two good friends who are also residents of Nóatún.
  • Sensor Character: Safyrra knows where to find just about anything kept within the walls of Thrymheimr. She needs merely to think of something (in particularly or have a vague idea of it) and she will know where to find the thing, if it is actively being used, or how many of it is in stock. This only works with items and effects that are considered to be part of the Thrymheimr estate and does not apply to personal possessions of others.

    Mellowydd "Wydd"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wydd_earth_27.jpg
House Chef of Nóatún and the son of Sandan.
  • Ambiguously Brown: He has darker skin and hair than his father thanks to his mother's dark elf ancestry.
  • Angry Chef: He's very good at cooking, and during the audition process to become the next chef of Nóatún, he used his anger to win the competition.
  • Apple of Discord: Wydd has a knack for causing squabbles between others involved in an endeavor he is also engaged in or to which he shares some other connection. The magic requires Wydd to literally stir a pot to weave the spell but can use its effect to cause an endeavor to fail, to cause the endeavor to turn out in his favor, or simply cause chaos for his own amusement.
  • Best Friend: He and Blay are best friends, mostly due to their similar ages and shared interests.
  • Blade Enthusiast: Wydd is trained with a knife to such a degree that he cannot injure himself with his own blade and that blade will never go dull while in his hand. Furthermore, this ability allows him to do his knife work at speeds that dazzle onlookers.
  • Dreadlock Rasta: His hair is arranged in dreadlocks, which is a first for elves seen so far.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Wydd can become jealous of others possessing that which he does not. He is rather ambitious himself.
  • Foil: Of his best friend Blay. While Blay is lazy, fair skinned and lets his lust do the thinking for him, Wydd is hard-working, dark skinned and it's his envy that can get the best of him.
  • Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid: He's a Murky Elf through his father and has Svartalf (Dark Elf) ancestry through his mother Lymseia.
  • Picky Eater: Wydd has an expensive taste in food. He would rather starve than eat food not prepared by himself or a chef of merit. Wydd also requires the most expensive fine cuisine to sate his hunger, along with fine liquor to wash it down.
  • Super-Senses: Wydd has enhanced his senses of smell and taste to paranormal mastery, allowing him to discern the subtle flavors and ingredients in any meal he come across. The senses' heightened states could be utilized outside of the kitchen as well.
  • Supreme Chef: Even without his mystical tricks, Wydd is a master chief.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Wydd regularly snacks on pecans, particularly when he's stressed or agitated by something. He also has an affinity for pecan trees.

    Bleisnickel "Blay"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blay_earth_27.jpg
The son of Qemera and adopted son of Halida. Currently the Assistant Stablemaster of Santa's reindeer under Krampus.
  • Alternate Self: Of Ken McCoy and Axel Walker.
  • The Apprentice: After failing three apprenticeships with Panacea, Sandan and Fusquod, he now serves as apprentice of Krampus, helping him tend the reindeer. He's especially fond of the reindeer Comet.
  • Attention Deficit... Oh, Shiny!: Blay tends to have a rather short attention span and poor awareness. He rarely considers the environment he is in when he does the things he does.
  • Disappeared Dad: He hasn't seen his father Belsnickel since before he was born, being raised by both his mothers.
  • Fanboy: Blay loves costumed crimefighters. He gets most of his information from the MeVids Channels "Hugh Watches The Watchmen" and "Stepping Out with Sideways".
  • Geek: In the last decade, Blay has become an avid consumer of the popular culture of the humans of Earth. He's become a big movie buff (though his taste in movies is rather questionable) and has become addicted to social media.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Has an unrequited crush on Panacea, who is married and considers him something of a pest.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: He's young by elven standards and Blay appears to have inherited his mother's libido, however he lacks her spiritual discipline toward sex. As a result, Blay often is not so much an elf with a sensual seductive aura about him as he is a creepy pervert who is constantly being way too direct and forward with those he finds himself sexually attracted to (this is usually Panacea). An example of this is that he's been hounding her for nearly two decades, he's been pursuing her to "pay up" on the kiss she promised him.
  • The Klutz: Blay is constantly spilling his drinks, usually on important things.
  • Lazy Bum: Blay finds it extremely difficult to stay awake for longer ten hours at a time. He is constantly looking for discreet hiding places to disappear into to treat himself a nap. He gets cranky if someone keeps him away from his precious sleep.
  • Likes Older Women: Has a crush on Panacea, who is almost 10 times older than he is.
  • Momma's Boy: Blay loves his mothers and will do anything to protect them. Even though they are both capable of protecting themselves and he would just get in the way, he feels compelled to throw himself into danger to protect his mothers.
  • The Runt at the End: Besides being much younger than the average elf, less than one-hundred years old, he's also shorter than average, hence his nickname of Runt.
  • Sweet Tooth: He seems unable to turn down sugary drinks (especially lemonade), candy, and baked goods (particularly brownies).

    Romint
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/romint_earth_27.jpg

An elf shrouded in mystery, Romint is an alchemist, tinkerer, adventurer, handyman, crackpot, and the Jester of Nóatún.

  • Charm Person: Romint has an enchanted aura about him, which gives him a strange smell that some find rather enticing. He often has to flee from lustful persons who linger in his presence too long. He has no control over who is affected by this and who finds his scent off-putting. The smell can shift over time, influencing new persons.
  • Cool Shades: Wears some red-tinted goggles, which apparently are what allows him to see "The Beautiful Lady".
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Roming is obviously crazy to some degree, which is why he's Nóatún's very own crackpot.
  • Forgetful Jones: Romint can be scatter-brained at times. He can forget what he was talking about mid-sentence. His early life seems particularly affected by this. He seems prone to fill in the gasps by making up stories.
  • Girlfriend in Canada: His girlfriend, the so-called "The Beautiful Lady", of whom no one can be sure is even real, since he constantly changes or forgets the story.
  • Goggles Do Something Unusual: Romint's goggles enhance his exceptional vision, allowing him to see in a myriad of different occult and mundane frequencies.
  • Jack of All Trades: Romint is a master alchemist and enchanter. He is also a good mechanic, chemist, medic, technician, and all-around handyman. He often helps Fusquod, Sandan, and Calaigne with their equipment when they need a reliable assistant.
  • In-Series Nickname: Koszałek, Red Hunter, "Romint Redhat".
  • Mysterious Past: Where and when he was born, who were his parents and anything concrete about his childhood is unknown or uncertain, but it's implied it was both good and bad.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: He has claimed before that he was abducted by trolls as a child and raised under a bridge. Yet, he also says that goblins stole him from his crib, painted him green, and passed him off as their own. While it's highly doubtful either tale is true, it's worth noting that Romint seems prone to making up stories about his childhood when it suits him.
  • Super-Empowering: Romint can make enchanted shoes from scratch rather quickly or enchant already existing footwear temporarily. His own boots absorb the impact of falls if he lands on his feet, are shielded against the cold, and allow him to walk into another dimension simply by walking unseen. He is also able to make boots that walk on water, leap far distances, allow quicker running, and a multitude of other effects.
  • Unreliable Narrator: While there is some truth to his stories about his childhood and how he met his great love, there's no way it can be verified since he constantly changes stories or forgets about them.
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: Since touching the Fern Flower, Romint is surrounded by a synchronicity wave field. This allows him to make his own luck resembling probability manipulation.

    Geon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/geon_earth_27.jpg

House Librarian and Loremaster of Noatun. In a previous life he was the raven Huginn who served the god Odin, but was turned back into an elf by the god of mischief Loki.

  • Badass Longcoat: Wears a nice looking coat that goes well with his loremaster role.
  • Bookworm: Geon is a legendary scholar. He is well-versed in practically every subject known to the ancients and many modern studies as well.
  • Clever Crows: Close enough, but he was once the raven Huginn (whose name means "Thought").
  • Dream Walker: Geon is a lucid dreamer and can enter a trance-like state at anytime to enter the Dreaming. He is recognized as an honored guest for his past service and is free to come and go from the Ghost Castle at will.
  • Furry Reminder: Geon still has some animalistic qualities, such as collecting shiny trinkets. He also justifies his lingering love for Muninn citing ravens mate for life.
  • I Know Your True Name: Geon can say someone's name (it must either be their true name or the name they identify most with currently) who he has met prior and then recite a brief message. That person, regardless of where they are, will receive the message as a telepathic prompt accompanied by the thought of Geon speaking it to them. Once sent, Geon has no way of knowing if the message was received.
  • In-Series Nickname: The Clever Fool, The Dreamer.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: He was once an elf who gathered so much knowledge he felt guilty about it, so Dream of the Endless offered him to take the memories to ease his conscience and he would serve him as one of his ravens, and he accepted. Now he's not sure what his past was before being a raven.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has pale blonde hair and not only is he incredibly old even for an elf, he's also associated with Dream and the Norse Pantheon.
  • Photographic Memory: Geon can reinforce his memory to allow him the ability to not forget a certain detail upon learning it or to quickly memorize a lengthy passage or complex image. While he can retain considerable knowledge this way, there is a limit and now to use this ability he must forget knowledge to remember new details.
  • Our Founder: The Huldufólk believe that before becoming a raven he was Geon, the founder of their tribe, but he's not sure about it, since his form was probably a result of Loki's enchantment.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Wears glasses over his gray eyes and he's the best at collecting information and other random trivia.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: He deeply misses his former mate Muninn ever since he returned to being an elf and she was never able to find Thrymheimr.

    Calaigne
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/calaigne_earth_27.jpg
Crier of Nóatún and the one who responsible for the modernization of the pocket dimension.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's a Dark Elf, who are generally distrusted by both humans and other elves, but while he's proud of his Dökkálfar heritage, he's also very loyal to Noatun and wants to ensure it remains modern.
  • Hacker Cave: A fairly cramped space, Calaigne sleeps on a hammock and surrounds himself with a variety of technical equipment including his broadcast equipment, monitors for various sensory systems (including radar), and computer hardware. Though it may appear to be a humble workspace, it is from here that Calaigne does his best work.
  • In-Series Nickname: Cal, Calai, Laigne, Ol' Red Eyes, Voice of Nóatún.
  • Omniglot: While elves as a whole are generally able to learn new languages with ease, Calaigne's ability is next-level. He can understand, speak, and write any language he immerses himself in with the same fluency he speaks his native language. While his fluency will fade over time as his exposure to the language is reduced, Calaigne will never completely forget any language. Upon first encounter with a new language, Calaigne may require hours to adapt to a written text but he can usually adapt to spoken languages after hearing a few sentences spoken. His fluency will increase rapidly after that, making him indistinguishable from a native speaker by the ends of his first real conversation.
  • Playful Hacker: Calaigne has a natural ability for computer technology, particularly in regards to the Internet. Though computer technology continues to evolve, Calaigne has little difficulty remaining in the know. Calaigne can hack secure databases, program software, or troll social media accounts with considerable ease. There is nothing blatantly magical about this, only that Calaigne is able to tap into the global collective consciousness of the engineers and influencers of the digital landscape to remain highly skilled and proficient despite its ever-evolving technology and trends.
  • Super-Senses: Elves' hearing is actually capable of training themselves to subconsciously decipher most radio signals without the need for special hardware. Calaigne can use this ability to apply those techniques to intercepting other frequencies, such as those of military grade encryption, used by cellular phones, or transmitted from satellites.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Calaigne finds it difficult to function without his daily fix of Panacea's lemon bars (which are magical mood and charisma boosters).
  • Voice Changeling: Caligne can perfectly imitate the voice of any person with which he is familiar. This includes duplicating their accent and vocal mannerism.

    Snegurochka (Nika Moroz)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snegurochka_earth_27.jpg

The Snow Maiden of Slavic mythology, she's the older twin sister of Niko and Champion of Nóatún.

  • An Ice Person: Snegurochka knows how to manipulate the essence of ice and cold. She can cast spells that summon ice shards, flash-freeze her environment, and can cause ice to form over objects or persons with a gesture and quickly whispered spell.
  • An Ice Suit: Snegurochka is not affected by cold, in fact it reinvigorates her. She can heal her injuries by applying snow or ice to open her wounds, she can bathe in a icy river, and ice and snow does not impair her movement (and actually aids her mobility significantly).
  • Best Friend: Zanoni is her best friend, most likely because of their action-related roles.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: When the Soviet Union banned Christmas, Snegurochka put her skills to use serving as the bodyguard of Santa Claus as he dared to infiltrate the USSR in spite of the ban to give gifts to deserving children. Snegurochka performs a similar duty to this day, as she, Santa, and Krampus brave the Apokalyptan fleet once a year to make a very special delivery of coal.
  • Braids of Action: Her hair is in twin braids and she's Santa's champion, plus accompanying him to Apokalypse to personally deliver coal to Darkseid.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Halida is listed as her friend but also her rival.
  • Freudian Excuse: She was given to the Goodfellows of Knecht, who constantly lashed her with birch switches whenever she misbehaved, and when she got used to the lashings, the Knecht instead would punish the other Godfellows by forcing her to watch the lashings. One night the other Goodfellows attacked her, stuffed her in a sack and beat her until she was unmoving, before dumping her in a frozen river. She only survived by killing a wolf and bathing in its blood. Yes, Nika is hardcore.
  • Had to Be Sharp: After being beaten and left for dead in a freezing river, she killed a wolf, bathed in its blood, fed on its flesh, and used his fur to keep herself warm.
  • I Have Many Names: Schneekind, Snegurka, Snegurochka, and Snow Maiden.
  • In-Series Nickname: Sestra and Sneg.
  • Kill It with Ice: Snegurochka can cover the blade of any sword or dagger in her hand with a thin sheet of razor-sharp ice that is practically invisible which gives the blade a magical sharpness that can cut through just about anything — mortal or otherwise. After making contact with anything other than air or the flimsiest materials, the sheet with shatter. If a living being is struck by the blade and a cut is made, the magic ice will seep into the wound rapidly freezing the target from the inside as their blood turns to ice. Most persons will be dead within a minute or two (if the impossibly sharp cut did not kill them) unless Snegurochka places her hand on the wound and removes the curse.
  • Lack of Empathy: Though not entirely without love, particularly for children, Sneg can be rather callous about the sufferings of others as she feels she has suffered more.
  • Master Swordself: Snegurochka is a duelist, specializing in the saber but proficient with most blades.
  • Twin Theme Naming: Nika and her twin brother Niko.
  • The Unfavorite: Despite being the older twin, her parents overlooked her in favor of her brother Niko, which caused her to lash out for attention, leading to her parents disowning her and sending her to the Knecht (Nóatún's biggest religious entity).
  • Weather Manipulation: Snegurochka can alter local weather, causing temperatures to drop, winds to increase in severity, and snow to fall (should it become cold enough).

    The Knecht
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_knecht_earth_27.jpg
Knecht of Nóatún, the most important religious organization of Nóatún. Born Aloysia Verbena, she shed her name when she became the newest head of the Fellowship of the Good Natured Servants of Nóatún (simply known as the Goodfellows).
  • An Ice Suit: The Knecht is not affected by cold, in fact it reinvigorates her. She can heal her injuries by applying snow or ice to her open wounds, she can bathe in a icy river, and ice and snow does not impair her movement. As a constant display of this ability in effect, the Knecht usually walks the snowy paths of Nóatún barefoot.
  • Dream Walker: The Knecht is a lucid dreamer and can enter a trance-like state at anytime to enter the Dreaming.
  • Facial Markings: She has some ritualistic markings on her face.
  • Friendly Rivalry: She considers Qemera both her friend and her rival.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: The Knecht has studied magic extensively. Though she is capable of casting spells with potent proficiency, she will rarely use magic as a shortcut or convenience, especially when there is a task she can do without relying on magic. Due to her reserved use of magic, many are caught off-guard by her magical ability when there is need for her to let loose.
  • Kiss of Life: With a kiss, the Knecht can temporarily impart some of her own life-force to another to stabilize an injured or mortally wounded person, tying their health to her own. While sharing her life-force in such a way, the Knecht also has access to much of their recent memories. The Knecht can release her life-force from the other at will or will regain her life-force automatically upon the other's death (though the shock of "sharing death" will usually be quite traumatic for the Knecht, often rendering her unconscious for several hours).
  • Internal Reformist: She returned to Nóatún after centuries of traveling with completely new ways and ideas for the Goodfellows. This caused a rift between the Aloysians (her followers) and those that followed the old ways. It all culminated in Ruprecht having his followers to beat her and try to kill her like they had done for Nika, only to be saved by Santa. He Named Ruprecht who was exiled, and she became the newest Knecht.
  • It's All My Fault: In spite of not being part of it and didn't find out the details until much later, she still felt a lot of guilt for not being able to stop the beating and exile of Nika.
  • Redeeming Replacement: Seen as this for the notoriously cruel and abusive Knecht Ruprecht.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: The Knecht can communicate with animals just as easily as elves and other sapient beings. Most animals in the wild treat her as one of their own.
  • Super-Empowering: The Knecht can impart an emotional enchantment on a small token, tool, or other inanimate object so that if handled by a particular person (whether a singularly specific person, a person matching a looser description, or someone meeting a specific condition), the enchantment influences the holder to experience a specific emotional reaction.
  • Windows of the Soul: The Knecht can look into someone's eye and gain insight into their character, their thoughts, and emotional condition. If other party consents to a simple meditative ritual, the Knecht can experience some of their memories as if they had happened to her. Through sustained meditation the Knecht can alter the memory to help relieve lingering trauma.

    Mab'ze Hudónfolk
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mabze_earth_27.jpg
The daughter of Fusquod and Panacea and the Tooth Fairy of Nóatún.
  • Creature of Habit: As long as Mab'ze follows a familiar ritual before beginning her work (such as sorting her instruments, reviewing a patient's file, engaging in familiar chit-chat, etc.), she can enter a trance-like state that limits her ability to be distracted for a period at least equal to the time spent in preparation and usually amplifies her skill.
  • Depraved Dentist: Only when it involves Blay, who broke her heart and even tried to seduce her own mother.
  • Geas: As part to the contract of the Sidhean Order of the Tooth, Mab cannot take possession of a tooth unless she fairly compensates the tooth's rightful owner. As a loophole, Mab can take the tooth from an unconscious person if she leaves some monetary compensation in place of the tooth.
  • Hereditary Hairstyle: She has the same hairstyle as her mother Panacea.
  • Hospital Hottie: She's Nóatún's resident dentist and she's just as beautiful as her mother.
  • Lust: Mab'ze thinks she hides her kinky nature well, but it's not secret at all.
  • Master Actor: Mab is an accomplished amateur actress and playwright. The acting troupe belongs to performs skits and short plays on the weekends in Nóatún's parks and taverns.
  • The Medic: Even without the use of her arcane aptitudes, Mab'ze is a legendary dentist, orthodontist, and dental surgeon. After all, she is a Tooth Faerie, right?
  • Touch Telepathy: Mab'ze has the power to establish a psychic link while touching the teeth of another (the tooth does not have to remain attached). While in possession of the tooth, Mab'ze will know the target's health, emotional state, location, and get a vague sense of what they are doing as well as a sense of their immediate surroundings.
  • The Ugly Guy's Hot Daughter: Fusquod is not ugly, just average and rough looking, but Mab'ze is quite pretty, having inherited most of her looks from her mother.
  • Uneven Hybrid: She's half Light Elf, a quarter Dark Elf and a quarter Dwarf.
  • White Mage: Mab'ze has the power to manipulate Sidhean essence using Faerie spells taught to her by the Hidden People, as well as Sidhean Order of the Tooth (the Tooth Faeries). Among the spells she has mastered include the ability to become ephemeral to pass through windows and make a sleeping person fall into a deeper slumber. She can also sense teeth that have been detached from the gums. Using collected teeth, Mab'ze can perform a wide variety of other magic.

    Belsnickel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/belsnickel_earth_27.jpg
The father of Bleisnickel and former lover of Qemera.
  • Bad Santa: True to his name Belsnickel, which roughly translate as "Santa in Fur", he would punish naughty children far more than even Krampus.
  • Beard of Evil: Unlike every other elf seen so far, he has a goatee and he doesn't look like the most trustworthy fellow.
  • Breeding Slave: Halida believes that during World War II the Nazis or The Thule Society captured Belsnickel and Qemara and performed experiments on them, including forced breeding, resulting in Blay's conception and birth.
  • Composite Character: He's composited with "dark" or threatening companions of Saint Nicholas in different folklores:
    • Belsnickel is a crotchety, fur-clad Christmas gift-bringer figure in the folklore of the Palatinate region of southwestern Germany.
    • Père Fouettard is a character who accompanies Saint Nicholas on his rounds during Saint Nicholas Day on December 6th, dispensing lumps of coal and/or beatings to naughty children while St. Nicholas gives gifts to the well behaved and is known mainly in the far north and eastern regions of France, in the south of Belgium, and in French-speaking Switzerland.
    • Knecht Ruprecht is a companion of Saint Nicholas in the folklore of Germany.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He only kidnapped and punished naughty children. He also hunted Nazis who captured him and performed cruel experiments on him.
  • Evil Is Bigger: At an impressive 6'1"/185cm tall, Belsnickel is quite tall for an elf and is easily the nastiest one associated with Nóatún.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Has a scar running across his left eye.
  • Harmful to Minors: He carried out of his own perverse mockery of the Yule traditions, but in lieu of giving bad children coal, Belsnickel would drag the wicked children's parents from their bed and beat them while their children watched. Before leaving, Belsnickel would threaten the children that he would return if they did not shape up. There were even instances of Belsnickels even carrying away some abusive parents or truly awful children into the night, their cries muffled by the burlap sack they had been crammed into.
  • I Have Many Names: Born Hurðaskellir, he's also known as Belsnickel, Pelsnickel, Père Fouettard, Ruprecht and The Whipper.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: He has seven brothers; Stekkajarstaur, Stúfur, Askasleikir, Gluggagægir, Gáttapefur, Ketkrókur, and Kertasnikir, and five sisters; Gilijagaur, Þvörusleikir, Pottaskefill, Skyrgámur, and Bjúgnskrækir.
  • Mythology Gag: His lover Befana in the Italian folklore, is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve, the night of January 5th.
  • No-Sell: Belsnickel can detect deception, illusion, and mental coercion. All of these have no effect on him, unless he permits such to happen to him. He is also impervious to any psychic or magical effects that would alter his mind discreetly.
  • No Shirt, Long Jacket: Wears a long coat but with no shirt underneath it.
  • Sensor Character: Belsnickel has the power to impart a piece of himself onto which belongs to him. While that portion of his soul remains on that possession, Belsnickel can track and find what belongs to him, no matter if it goes missing, is stolen, or claimed by another. In fact, Belsnickel does not need to legally own whatever he claims, he simply has to have it in his possession and conduct a short ritual to invoke his claim.
  • Sworn in by Oath: Belsnickel can pledge service to another, requiring sacrifice of something important to him. Once completed, Belsnickel finds himself stronger, more focused, and better able to resist that which would distract or deter him from carrying out that which his master requires or requests. He is under no compulsion to do anything which he does not wish to do and can freely break this connection at anytime — however, if he does choose to carry out that which he objects to or finds distasteful, this magic can (and has) rewritten his personality to justify his actions.
  • The Unfettered: Belsnickel is skilled with a whip and has no reservations for cold-blooded murder. It is worth noting that Belsnickel's family is known as the "Yule Lads" in Bjorland, but this refers to the "ladd", an ancient word for the burlap sack that Belsnickel in his signature executions and kidnappings. Turns out, this was an old family tradition.
  • Walking the Earth: Belsnickel has the preternatural ability to avoid detection and bypass obstacles while he travels. He simply needs to visualize his destination, prepare for the travel, and then begin. As he traverses the terrain, obstacles are made easy to overcome and the environment seems to shield him from detection. He can travel in this manner for three hours every day, but can only do so on foot and only with kids and kin in tow.

    Temilie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/temilie_earth_27.jpg
Old Towne Baker and the former friend-turned rival of Panacea.
  • Alien Blood: Temilie's own heritage appears to be an equal mix of Myrkálfar and Æðríalfar as she bleeds a dark blue, syrup like blood.
  • Food-Based Superpowers: Temilie has the ability to pluck abstract concepts from the ether and materialize them as ingredients for baking. For instance, she can capture a child's laughter or the sound of raindrops on a tin roof in her hand, squeeze her palm, and will that into a small crystalline orb of essence that she can then crush or melt for use in baking.
  • In-Series Nickname: Tem, Temmy, Tem-Tem.
  • Power-Up Food: Her arcane aptitude gives Temilie's baking powerful magical effects. Here are few known examples of what she can bake up:
    • Fruitcake that fills one with warmth and sense of being "home for the holidays"
    • Peppermint brownies that guarantee a good night's sleep with lucid dreaming
    • Bundt cake that makes you particularly charismatic and charming
    • Spiced mulled wine cookies that cause you to laugh uncontrollably — if pregnant
    • Eggnog éclairs that allow to speak, read, write, and understand every language
    • Peppermint bark that fills you with elation and allows you to talk to trees
    • Figgy pudding that fills you with silliness, causing you to sing with perfect pitch
    • Cranberry cookies that increase your stamina for the remainder of the day
    • Mincemeat pie that puts any enjoying a slice of the same pie into a hive mind
    • Walnut baklava that gives objective hindsight, allowing you to reflect without biases
    • Espresso chip cookies that give you a jolt of energy and the sense that time slowed
  • The Rival: Temilie has a long-standing feud with rival baker Panacea. It's not a one-sided issue either. Panacea engages in the feud just as much as Temilie. Through, most days the two don't seem determined to ruin the other's life, all it take is one of them to have a bad day, hear the other's praises, or run into each other in town to set them down a spiral or plotting the other's demise for the next week or so.
  • We Used to Be Friends: She and Panacea used to be friends, but an incident involving a plate of cookies that they made for Santa made their friendship sour pretty bad.

    Aquilor & Lupinor Kyjatam
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aquilor_earth_27.jpg
Aquinor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lupinor_earth_27.jpg
Lupinor
Dark Elf twins and gunslingers who work as Agents of the List for Niko Moroz. Adoptive children of Zanoni, making them adoptive grandchildren of Santa and Skadi Claus.
  • Casting a Shadow: They can blend into shadows. This is not mere camouflague, but him actually using the essence of shadow to make himself semi-incorporeal, allowing him to press through solid matter (provided there is also shadow on the other side), move silently (any sound he emits from his person would be emitted in the astral plane), and causing most non-magical attacks to pass harmlessly through him — that is, unless, the attack has an element of light to it — that is, unless, the attack has has an element of light to it — which may dispel his ambient shadows and cause him to become corporeal at a rather incovenient time.
  • Enemy Scan: The twins have sharp eyes, able to pierce the aura of individuals in their presence, allowing them to quickly size them up and assess their abilities, behavior, and other facets of their personality.
  • The Gunslinger: The brothers watched a lot of western movies growing up. They idealized the cinematic American cowboy, whose values of self-reliance spoke to their dark elf values. Their father being a career highwayman also helped support this love for the genre, causing the twins to get their hands on black market revolvers and train night and day with day with them. Aquilor may not be as accurate as his brother, but he claims to be the quickest draw in Nóatun.
  • Happily Adopted: By Zanoni, since she married their father and they considered her a godmother before she revealed the secret marriage.
  • Innate Night Vision: Nocturnal by their nature, dark elves have excellent low-light vision, exceeding those of other elves.
  • In-Series Nickname: The Eccentric Twin and Quil for Aquinor, while Lupinor is known as The Focused Twin and Pin.
  • Meaningful Name: Aquinor was named after Aquilos, the roman name of Boreas/Santa Claus, while Lupinor's name simply means "Lupiet's Son".
  • Parental Abandonment: Their mother died in childbirth and they don't even know her name, while their father Lupiet was killed fighting against a Yule cat.
  • Sibling Rivalry: For the most past, the twins get along; but the right nudge can turn the two against each other, squabbling or even fighting over petty matters.
  • Weakened by the Light: As dark elves born of a mother from the Deep Dark of Alfheim, the twins find direct sunlight to be unpleasant on their skin.

    Vivien
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vivien_earth_27.jpg
A young Light elf who, after nearly dying during the Manhattaning, became a shut in who almost never leaves Nóatún, preferring to remain in touch through the internet. She's friends with Javad Oshu, Blay and Temilie.
  • Aerith and Bob: Her name surprisingly mundane and human-like when compared to the other elves.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Viv, Vivi, Vivi Blue, Vivien Blue.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: She's the youngest of nine siblings and has three brothers and five sisters.
  • Online Alias: Her Network user name is VimNVigorViv.
  • The Shut-In: Vivien appears to be afraid of the world outside Nóatún. Ironic, considering how much she also appears to love the idea of everything about it.
  • Shout-Out: Her nickname of Vivi and the blue streak on her hair references Nefertari Vivi from One Piece.
  • Taught by Television: Most of her knowledge from the outside world comes from watching TV shows and following the internet.
  • TV Never Lies: She's called a weeb and she thinks a number of strange anime tropes are real.

    Silv'rennir Fog
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/silvrennir_fog_earth_27.jpg
Chronicler of Nóatún's Cracker.
  • Big Eater: Rennir has quite the sweet tooth. He also drinks a lot of Wassail.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Rennir can write or speak a paragrap summary of complex or complicated subject matter of which he is familiar. A single individual of Rennir's choosing, who hears or reads this summary, will have Rennir's entire familiarity with the subject matter magically conveyed to them.
  • In-Series Nickname: Rennir.
  • Intrepid Reporter: Rennir is an exceptional jounalist. Through most of his stories have been covering mundane civic meetings, obituaries, and announcements for public events, he has covered his fair share of more sordid affairs — including the rare disappearance, murder, or scandal that shows up in Nóatún from time to time. If there's been any of these in Nóatún's history for the last five centuries, chances are Rennir had a part to play in its coming to light.
  • Magical Eye: Once per day, Rennir can lock eyes with someone and compel them to tell him the full story behind any subject he specifies. The target will then proceed to discuss the matter with absolute and complete honesty, but only for a short time, depending upon the subject's willpower and their willingness (usually between three to fifteen minutes). Any old memories will be recalled with greater clarity, though particularly obscure or old memories may not be complete. Finally, if the subject's memories or ability to discuss the matter have been tampered with through magic, Rennir will realize this and may have an inkling of who is responsible.
  • Pen Name: Rennir is a very talented writer. He sells midly successful fiction stories under the pen name S. Virgil Finoren.
  • Summon to Hand: Rennir rarely doesn't have a leatherbound notebook on his person. He keeps several hundred of these notebooks at his flat, stored neatly on bookshelves. Anything Rennir writes in the notebook he carries with him will be backed-up in the pages of his personal library. Similarly, Rennir can recall a page from his library which will magically appear on a empty page of the journal.
  • Super-Speed Reading: Rennir can read at an exceptional speed. Furthermore, by applying magic to his fingertips, Rennir can place his hand on an object or person and get a reading of another sort on them, detailing where that person or object has been recently, their emotional state, and any significant interactions or events they have been party to. Overuse of this aptitude tends to leave Rennir with a headache.

    Jevad Oshu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jevad_earth_27.jpg
Town Crier of Nóatún who works for the Nóatún Cracker.
  • Bag of Holding: Jevad has a satchel that has the magical ability to store more contents in it than its meager interior space should hold. He mostly uses this to stow newspapers, but he also usually carries snacks, drinks, spare clothing, and a number of interesting tools and gadgets for a variety of circumstances. Things stored in this bag are kept in stasis and are perfectly preserved to the same condition they were when stored.
  • Best Friend: His best friend and business partner Silv'rennir Fog.
  • Brown Note: Jevad has the ability to tell jokes and sing songs that are so bad, that it can literally cause psychic pain to those who hear hear these told/jokes.
  • Glamour: Jevad has the ability to put a powerful glamour effect within his tooth necklace. The exact effect of the glamour can vary, based upon need and circumstances, but he can only have one of the glamours in effect at a time.
    • Perception Filter: Jevad can make himself or another wearing the necklace appear to look and sound like someone else. This is a powerful illusion that not only affects the perceptions of others, but also multimedia devices — such as video cameras.
    • Consummate Liar: Jevad or any other individual wearing the necklace can tell one lie that will be believed, no matter the audience or circumstances that surround the wearer when the lie is spoken.
    • Master of Illusion: Jevad can make the tooth necklace appear to be another object. This is a powerful illusion that not only affects the perceptions of others, but also multimedia devices — such as video cameras.
  • My Rules Are Not Your Rules: Jevad has the ability to bend and/ignore the rules that elves are forced to live by.
  • Mysterious Past: His exact age and heritage are unknown, even to himself, although he's likely half-Svartálfar and half-Ljósálfar.
  • Power Copying: Jevad can borrow another person's hat. While wearing the other person's hat, he can perform three instances of borrowing that other person's knowledge, memories, powers, and/or skills. If the target does not regularly wear hats, Jevad can substitute a helmet, head covering, or a pair of glasses. Jevad could even borrow a hearing aid. If nothing else, Jevad can pluck a piece of hair or wipe the sweat from their brow to use this ability. Once the three charges are used up, Jevad can never duplicate that person's capabilities again.

    Lilisusa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lilisusa_earth_27.jpg
  • Amplifier Artifact: Lilisusa's guitar was built by Romint and Fusquod, commisioned by the Council of Elders, to replace her old one which began to become more erratic with its magic. With the stylings of a modern electric guitar in a form evoking a Christmas tree, the "New Old-Fashioned Way" requires no power source, wires, or speakers for it to function. All is provided by magical means when she begins to strum the strings. The instrument is also potent focus for her arcane aptitudes, enhancing their effects.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Lilisusa tends to overindulge in her nightly wassail — and tends to get a little rowdy and loud when intoxicated.
  • In-Series Nickname: Lili.
  • Loss of Inhibitions: Lilisusa can perform a song, through musical instrument of lyrics. Any who listen to this song will have their tolerance for alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs reduced, causing these things to have greater effect upon them. Better yet, those who listen will also have the effects of their resulting hangover or withdrawal symptoms eased for the next week.
  • Magic Music: Lilisusa can strike a chord on her magical guitar to calm the emotions, particularly violent anger, or anyone who hears the sound. She can archieve the same effect with her voice, though doing so requires a bit more magical energy than when she channels the effect through her instrument.
  • The Rock Star: Lilisusa is a remarkable musician, who is trained in the use of countless musical instruments. She is also an accomplished songwriter. It's suspected that several chart-topping modern Christmas carols that rocked the airwaves in recent years had been sent to record companies by Lili — her annual gift to the music industry of Earth.
  • Weather Manipulation: Through a prolonged performance, usually requiring several songs and perhaps the support of additional backing instruments and/or singers, Lilisusa can affect the weather of the locality she finds herself in. The use of different musical genres in the performance can result in different effects.

    Feyrn
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/feyrn_earth_27.jpg
  • Blood Magic: Blood Reading is an aptitude common among the wardens. This ability allows Feyrn to inspect freshly spilled blood to gain insight into its origin. Though closer visual examination, which may include touching or tasting, Feyrn may gain further knowledge. A full examination would allow her to know whose blood was spilled, the nature of its spilling, if there are abnormal qualities to the blood, and it there is any other nearby.
  • Braids of Action: She's an expert Warden of Nóatún and like her mentor Halida she has her hair in two braided pigtails.
  • Charm Person: Feyrn has a passive sense of authority about her. Animals and people of lower standing will often struggle to meet her gaze or impede her path, giving her a wide berth. When she speaks, the space around her seems to quiet as most turn their attention to her, eager to hear what she might say. Her words carry more weight than they normally might, simply by measure of them being words uttered by her silver tongue.
  • Forest Ranger: Feyrn is a master of surviving the harsh wilds around Nóatún. She is remarkable survivalist, hunter, tracker, and fisher-elf- She routinely goes on a month-long patrols, living off the land the entire time so as to allow her to travel light.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: By naming her arrow to her before it is shot, Feyrn can give it a destiny and mentally direct its path, allowing the arrow to fly without being affected by wind, weather, or gravity, and even allowing it to steer around obstacles. However, the arrow must continue to move at its fired pace and it must find pace and it must find the end of its destiny.
  • Master Archer: Trained from birth to hold a bow, Feyrn is a an incredible shot with any arrow — whether the blessed alder arrows of the wardens, or another more mundane manufacture. Feyrn is considered to be one of the best archers in the wilderness.
  • Pride: It's little surprise that Feyrn is smug and confident in her abilities.
  • Redhead In Green: She's a redheaded elf and her Warden outfit is mostly green.
  • The Rival: Krampus is her rival. One of the few joys Feyrn has when called to Thrymheimr is tormeting the satyr stablemaster. According to Blay, their feud is quite intense.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Feyrn can communicate with animals as simply as she can sentient beings. Furthermore, most animals tend to treat Feyrn as she were one of their own and pay her presence little mind, except when her actions would draw concern if she were another member of their species. This is another commonly found ability among the wardens. Note that there is a particular sort of animals that finds elves in possession of this ability to be unsettling: cats. Felines of all sorts do not tolerate the effect of this ability — but the wardens find this to be considerabl boon as it helps keep most Yule Cats away from warden patrols.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Thanks her her royal lineage, Feyrn stands at an impressive 5'7"/170cm tall, quite the height for an elf of Nóatún.

    Balcot
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/balcot_earth_27_2.jpg
Current engineer of Santa's sleigh, as well as keeper, translator, collaborator, and friend of the mad elf Romint.
  • Best Friend: He's the best friend as well as keeper of Romint.
  • The Collector: Balcot is in possession of one of Romint's old hats. "Hand-me-downs" among elves is considerered a great honor as ancient elf custom held that essence of an elf would be imparted upon their posssessions, so gifting another your lucky hat or shirt was a great honor. Balcot having worked closely with Romint for the last fifty-plus years, he's also gathered up quite the collection of footwear that Romint was tossed out for various reasons — many of them quite impressive relics that Balcot was able to make use of despite not meeting whatever measure that Romint keeps for his personal "standards".
  • The Engineer: Balcot is considered to be the best sleighmaker in Nóatún, and he's also a master alchemist, blacksmith, electrician, mechanic, tinker and inventor
  • Instant Expert: By giving his mind over to the spirits of those that have gone before him in his craft, Balcot can close his eyes and undertake complex or precision work with his hands and simple tools. This intense trance allows him to ignore circumstances and distractions around him that may impair his final product.
  • Indy Ploy: Balcot's alchemy, magical spells, and rituals do not have to use the exact ingredients as called for. As long as Balcot is involved in the creation process, he can substitute one ingredient in a simple concoction or up to three ingredients in complex rituals. The results will not be exactly the same, unpredictable side effects may result, but the overall effect will be fairly close to the intended result.
  • Significant Anagram: His name is an anagram of 'Cobalt'.
  • Sweet Tooth: Balcot is often found lingering around the bakery, eating its sweets.

    Gordhanthal Glimmerfrost
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gordhanthal_earth_27.jpg
Bartender and proprietor of The Yulewood Wassail House. He's also one of the many brothers of Belsnickel.
  • Alliterative Name: Gordhanthal Glimmerfrost.
  • The Bartender: Gordhanthal's brewing skills are second to none. After tasting any drink, he has an immediate knowledge of its ingredients and the process for creating it. If the drink has anything magical about it, Gordhanthal might not be able to duplicate the drink, but he could make a replica that matches the tastes.
  • Comfort Food: Gordhanthal uses food & drink to comfort himself when stressed.
  • Drunken Master: Gordhanthal's strength is fortified with magical disposition when he is under the influence of alcohol. When intoxicated, even in the slightest, he becomes much stronger and durable than other Swarthy Elves, even stronger than most of his family — who are known for their might and resiliency. A single light ale can give him a 5% increase in strength, a glass of fortified wine could increase his strength by 25%, and shot of whiskey can give him a 50% boost, and a truly potent moonshine could nearly double his pre-existing strength. These benefits can stack — transforming this giant of strength into a true mighty titan... albeit a wasted one.
  • Family Honor: Gordhanthal's family is known as the "Yule Lads" in Bjorland. This refers to the "ladd", an ancient word for the burlap sack that was on his family's crest. Gordhanthal's family traditionally served the Huldufólk as enforcers and executioners, before their services would be phased out as the tribe became more peaceful. Though they never made 'Ladd' their official family name, the Huldufólk would informally refer to Leppaluði, Grýla, and their children as the 'Ladds'. Gordhanthal doesn't usually advertise his family ties; but when he does, people tend to look at him differently.
  • Large and in Charge: Like his brother Belsnickel, Gordhanthal is quite tall for an elf at 6"/183cm tall and is the undisputed owner of his Wassail House.
  • Meaningful Rename: He changed his name from Askasleikir to Gordhanthal Glimmerfrost in honor of his friend and partner Roghanthal Glimmerfrost, even adopting his clan name.
  • No-Sell: Gordhanthal is immune to poisons, toxins, and other effects caused by anything he has ingested. He can deactivate this ability if he wants to be affected by alcohol, medicine, or other ingested products.
  • Technicolor Eyes: He has red sclerae and green irises.
  • Touch Telepathy: By licking something, Gordhanthal has the power to impart a piece of himself onto that which is licked. While that portion of his soul remains on that possession, Gordhanthal can track and find that which belongs to him, no matter if it goes missing, is stolen, or claimed by another. In fact, Gordhanthal does not need to legally own whatever he claims, he simply has to have it in his possession and have a chance to give it a good lick.

Santa's Reindeer

    In General
  • Amplified Animal Aptitude: While they began as intelligent as regular deer, eventually they evolved sentience and became capable of speech (which was early 19th century, about the same time Clement C. Moore penned "Twas the Night Before Christmas").
  • Matriarchy: Reindeer are matriarchal in nature, due to the abundance of males that shun the family life in favor of living as bachelors, choosing to fight over mating rights with the females seeking to mate with proven champions to ensure strong offspring.
  • The Marvelous Deer: The Fiara Faerie is the collective term for a breed of creature similar to our world's deer, but hailing from the Fair Lands, realm of the Faerie. When the Fiara Faerie (singular: Fia Fae) transition to our world from the Fair Lands, they appear to take on features which resemble the organisms of the Cervidae (deer) family.
  • Parent-Child Team: Rudolph helps pull the sled alongside his parents Prancer and Vixen. Prancer also works alongside his parents Donner and Blitzen.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Their popularity and status as faerie animals mean they're much older than regular reindeer. Donder and Blitzen are the oldest, being over 1300 years old, while Rudolph is the youngest at just about 100 years old.
  • Sibling Team: Comet and Cupid are brothers, while Dancer and Prancer are twins.
  • Superhero Speciation: While they're not superheroes, each reindeer has a special power or ability that compliments the others and that is what makes them such an efficient team, aside from the occasional locking of antlers.
  • Talking Animal: They're reindeer capable of speech thanks to their popularity.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Males are bigger and their antlers are also longer and more complex, while females are smaller and their antlers are also shorter and far less complex.

    Dasher
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dasher__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dfk6gxr_fullview.jpg
Dasher is a mischievous and jovial sort, though he is much friendly in his approach to mischief than Comet.
  • Fastest Thing Alive: Dasher's top speed is somewhere in the range of Mach 20, but it's worth noting that his reflexes don't scale with his speed and anything beyond Mach 5 is dangerous for him to attempt outside of open air... but still, Dasher does it all the time.
  • Pride: Dasher is also known for his brash, cocky attitude as he takes great pride in being known as the fastest of his herd.
  • Sad Clown: It is possible that Dasher uses comedy and feigns this proud, loud, and attention-seeking behavior to compensate for his insecurities concerning his malformed, asymmetrical antlers, which is something he was often ridiculed for before he joined the sleigh team.
  • Super-Speed: Dasher is known for one thing: speed. Not even just in flight, this reindeer is beyond fast on the ground. On his own, Dasher can get from anywhere on Earth to anywhere else within less than an hour. Pulling a sleigh and working with a team does slow him down substantially, but Dasher's speed is still an asset to the team. And if there is a need for any of the sleigh crew to break away, Dasher is usually the one unleashed from his tethers to serve as the steed.

    Dancer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dancer_earth_27.jpg
Dancer is a gentle and kind reindeer, though she is also a proud and vain creature.
  • Healing Hands: Even if she doesn't have hands, Dancer has the ability to heal other beings, as well as temporarily alter their physiology. Using this ability, Dancer can give herself impressive strength, accelerate the speed of herself or another, or rid the muscles of any fatigue toxins.
  • Power Glows: During breaks, Dancer's antlers are known to emit a white light as she uses her power to give her teammates a magical treatment to relieve any pain or stiffness, allowing them to perform at their peak throughout their annual long run.
  • Sibling Rivalry: She is prone to harassing her twin brother Prancer, but he doesn't seem to mind her reindeer games too much, taking it in stride and even laughing at her jokes at his expense.
  • Super-Speed: Dancer used to be the fastest of the team, before Dasher came on the scene, but like her brother, Dancer has incredible grace and agility. This coupled with her remarkable speed makes her the ideal candidate to fly beside Dasher as she has the ability to react to things that Dasher cannot.

    Prancer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prancer__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dfkbwpe_fullview.jpg
Mate of Vixen and the twin brother of Dancer. His position at Santa's sled is right swing.
  • Friend to All Children: He is exceptionally protective of children, even to the point of slipping off his harness when the sleigh is parked to protect a child in danger or befriend a child found wandering out of their residence.
  • Nice Guy: Prancer is known to be one of the genuinely nicest reindeer among the Nóatún herd.
  • Super-Reflexes: Even without his ability active, Prancer has a passive reflex speed that is unbelievable, allowing him to react to threats much quicker than others. He uses this ability to warn the rest of the team of incoming obstacles, and at times, he'll even jerk the entire team out of harm's way by veering off-course suddenly.
  • Time Master: Prancer has the incredible ability to distort time. Though he cannot suspend it completely, he can stall it, slowing it down immensely. He can even create a "temporal bubble" which allows his team to travel at much greater speeds than their impressive speed would allow by effectively slowing down the time around them.
  • Wandering the Earth: He's also got a bit of a wanderlust in him and has even sneaked away from his stable in the middle of the night to go prancing about, even venturing into cities to do some people watching.

    Vixen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vixen_earth_27_6.jpg
Vixen is Prancer's mate and the mother of Rudolph. Much like Dancer, Vixen pranks and chastises Prancer, but in a more flirtatious or teasing manner. Vixen is also known to be cunning and wise beyond her years.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Her affection is usually more of a "tough love" than the sort Blitzen will provide.
  • Master of Illusion: Vixen's main contribution to the team is her ability to create magical illusions to help conceal the sleigh and its team. She can create more than just visual illusions, too, with the ability to confer sound and even smells to help immerse the targets of her magical deception. However, her illusions do lack any physical substance so an illusionary wall can be passed through without effort.
  • Number Two: Vixen is something of the herd's matriarchal beta, the lieutenant of Blitzen, and something of a big sister to the herd.
  • One-Steve Limit: Has the same name as Mari McCabe's superhero identity.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Orange and red fur with green eyes and she's a magical flying reindeer.

    Comet
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/comet_earth_27.jpg
  • Birds of a Feather: He gets along with the elf Blay due to both being tricksters with a sweet tooth.
  • Blow You Away: Comet has the ability to control the air around him, channeling the magic through his antlers. Notably, Comet uses this ability to lower wind resistance which allows him to thrust to top flying speed in an instant, creating something of a vacuum tunnel for the sleigh and its team to flow through at incredible speeds.
  • Flight: As his name would hint at, Comet is an exceptional flier. He and his brother, Cupid, provide the significant thrust required to get the sleigh off the ground and up to speed in the blink of an eye.
  • Interspecies Friendship: With the elf Bleisnickel.
  • Sweet Tooth: Something he shares with fellow trickster Blay. He even has a candy cane in his mouth.
  • The Trickster: Due to his sweet tooth, it's been suggested that Comet is a trickster.
  • Troll: Comet is a jerk. Though he usually behaves himself when it's showtime (and if he doesn't, he's right in front of Donder, which means he's likely going to be dealt with quickly), Comet is known to steal food, knock over his handlers with "playful" nudges, and laugh at the misfortune of others.

    Cupid
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cupid_earth_27_8.jpg
Cupid is Comet's younger brother and his position is Left Team.
  • Casanova Wannabe: He is highly social and known to be quite flirtatious among the members of his herd (and even with beings outside of his species, such as his elven handlers and even human visitors).
  • The Drag-Along: He is often recruited into Comet's antics and even when he isn't, he usually enables Comet's behavior due to Cupid's snickering and visible enjoyment at seeing his brother's shenanigans.
  • The Empath: Cupid has the ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of others. Cupid uses this ability to help improve the team's cohesion and focus, which is quite useful when you consider the tendency of deer to panic or freeze when startled. Cupid has also been able to use this ability to put humans around him into a docile state, keeping little kids asleep in their beds while elves stuff stocking and Santa drops presents under the tree. Even adults who were awake in the presence of the reindeer team might report feeling a mental or emotional fugue state - which is no doubt the work of Cupid.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: When he was younger, he tried to seduce Blitzen, and for it, Donder broke his left antler. Though it has partially regrown, it is a constant reminder that he should be more cautious as his left antler is still significantly smaller than his left (unlike mundane reindeer, fiara faerie do not shed and regrow antlers yearly).
  • Power Perversion Potential: Of course, it's probably worth mentioning that Cupid got his name because of his use of using this Empathy ability to seduce plenty of mates in his younger days. Here's hoping he's put that sort of behavior behind him.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: He's got mostly red fur and green eyes.
  • Situational Sociability: When he's not under his brother's influence, Cupid is a friendly and affectionate creature.

    Donder
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/donder_earth_27.jpg
Donner, or Donder, is a proud and noble creature, dutiful and honorable to a fault, with a notorious temper when provoked or angered. As the mate of the alpha, Blitzen, Donder is the primary enforcer of the herd.
  • The Big Guy: Without a doubt, Donder is the largest and strongest member of the Nóatún herd. He is likely stronger and larger than many other legendary fiara faerie.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He might have mostly black fur, but he's an honorable and dutiful reindeer and devoted patriarch of his herd.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Donder might be incredibly noble and dutiful, but you don't want to anger him. When Cupid tried to seduce his mate Blitzen, he broke his antler. He's also the one who keeps Comet in line whenever he misbehaves.
  • Stronger with Age: As his species continues to grow and increase strength with every century, Donder has only became all the more impressive which has made him a constant asset to the sleigh team where others his age have been replaced.
  • Super-Strength: It is rumored that Donder's name was given to him due to his ability to hit with such a powerful headbutt to knock-out most other deer that dared to lock horns with him. The force was so intense that the impact would sound like a thunderclap or sonic boom, often releasing a shockwave.
  • Team Dad: Where his mate leads with kindness, it is Donder that disciplines misbehavior among the Nóatún herd.

    Blitzen

The matriarchal alpha of the Nóatún herd. She is known to be very experienced and wise, befitting of her age and stature.
  • A Mother to Her Men: She is protective of all members of her herd, particularly her own children.
  • Flight: Like all of the fia fae chosen to take part in Santa's sleigh team, Blitzen has the ability to fly. Though a common adaptation found among the deer of the Nóatún herd, Blitzen is an exceptional practitioner of this magical ability. She is not the fastest or the most graceful among the team, but she is on the fast end of the spectrum. Research seems to indicate that she was considerably faster in her youth.
  • Shock and Awe: Blitzen has the ability to control electricity, including emitting electrical bolts from her antlers and disrupting electrical signals around her. As the fiara faerie develop their unique gifts partway through their youth, it was likely that her name was changed to reflect this ability. This ability is a key reason why Blitzen has continued to remain with the team despite her considerable age, as the prevalence of electricity and electrical devices in the modern era has made Blitzen all the more valuable of an asset.
  • Stronger with Age: Fiara Fae continue to grow every century and thus get stronger with age which is why Blitzen has transitioned from a lead deer to a wheel deer as her strength has allowed her to shoulder much of the burden of the sleigh's weight.

    Rudolph

Rudolph is a little reindeer with a big heart. He is the youngest of the sleigh team, who lacks the experience of the rest of the much older reindeer.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: At only around 100 years old he's easily the youngest member of the team. Though he is out front and center, he is by no means the leader. Navigation is handled by Dasher and Dancer, and its not uncommon to see Rudolph slip behind and wedge himself between them especially as the ride wears on and he begins to get more worn out and tired.
  • Friend to All Children: He is still very much a child in many regards, which means he has a close connection to children, similar to his father.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Though he is one of the most popular reindeer outside of Nóatún, he hasn't let this go to his head and actually struggles with confidence issues.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Rudolph regards every one of his teammates as his personal heroes in many regards and often cycles through trying to emulate the qualities of the others in a bid to endear himself to the team or figure out exactly what kind of reindeer he wants to be.
  • Light 'em Up: Rudolph has more than his often sung about shiny snout, as his antlers, eyes, and even the fur on is back are capable of emitting a scarlet light. This light is actually raw sidhean magic. In its current state and with Rudolph's limited mastery of it, it's really only good for the magical glow it emits and occasionally when used as a devastating weapon (usually against the forces of Apokalypse). When used in this manner, Rudolph charges up his energy and his eyes, antlers, and back all light up to match the brilliant luminescence of his snout.
    • Breath Weapon: Once the energy has built up enough, which takes a few seconds, Rudolph unleashes it all as an intense burst of magic from his mouth, not unlike a dragon's fire breath, only with Rudolph it is essentially pure sidhean chaos unleashed in the form of a blinding beam of scarlet and crimson light.
