Some tropes for my fanfic. I'm planning on writing an entry for Neolation, a comic, but will need time to process it.

  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: The author admits he writes this way. When he had to retire from the story due to a personal project, he needed to read the previous chapters because he forgot of the content.
  • What Could Have Been: Some ideas were considered for the story but were dropped due to Creator Breakdown.
    • The line "she may be a girl" was gonna be added into the text, but was scrapped as its a Pet-Peeve Trope of the author.
    • Evaprimolca was originally going to be named Choco, to combine with Cacao' Edible Theme Naming, but this was scrapped.
    • Esparra was going to be even more of a fearsome antagonist that would mutate while fighting Pirina as a giant Namekian (with the author comparing him to Ridley from Metroid), but the author thought the story was too packed so it was made anticlimactic on purpose.
    • Taura and Cabba were meant to fight outside the Tree of Might while a war happened in the background. The author didn't think it was thematically appropriate, and couldn't see Cabba winning against her in that scenario.
    • Taura was meant to transform during her final confrontation, in either a plant monster or a female Namekian, but the author thought it would betray Turles biggest appeal of never needing a transformation, so this was scrapped for her remaining a Saiyan.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.

some tropes for

Karasu

  • Creepy Good: He's a pale, bald man with a dark cloak that can turn into crows, and his gaze is so frightening it scares some of Pinkbeard's pirates. Despite all these traits that make him appear like a villain, he's a revolutionary who helps the people and opposes the corrupted World Government.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Wears a black cloak that can become a storm of crows, but he's a heroic character.

Belo Betty

  • Cool Shades: Wears a pair of dark shaded glasses and is a revolutionary who inspires the people to revolt.
  • Red Is Heroic: Her main clothing color is red and she is one of the major opponents of the World Government.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: She has purple hair cut in a bob.

and this one

for the Black Cat Pirates

  • Animal Motifs: Cats, obviously. Kuro, the captain, has a pair of gloves with a long sword on each finger, and even slashes Merry simply for the thrill of it, just like real cats do. Sam and Butchie are also very similar to cats and fight with clawed gloves, while the rest of the crew wear a bandana with cat-like ears. The only exception is Jango, who doesn't have anything cat-related.

for Kuro

  • Lack of Empathy: While working for Kaya and her family for years, he has never grown attached to her nor to his colleague Merry, and even attempts to kill the latter without any regret. He doesn't even care for his crew, which he plans to kill after inheriting Kaya's fortune.

[[folder:Merry]]

Merry

Kaya's loyal butler and the one who designed the Going Merry, which he gives to the Straw Hats after they save Kaya from Captain Kuro.

—-

  • Animal Motif: Sheep. Has a sheep-like hairstyle and, like sheep, he's nice and loyal to Kaya. Even his ship, which he gives to the Straw Hats, is sheep-themed.
  • Battle Butler: Downplayed. For the most part he's a Non-Action Guy, but he's seen fighting against Kaya's many suitors.
  • Funny Afro: Has a white afro that resembles a sheep's wool, complete with horns.
  • Not Quite Dead: After Kuro reveals his true colours he slashes Merry, leaving him presumably dead, but turns out the wound is not fatal, and Merry survives.
  • Sweet Sheep: Merry is sheep themed, with an hairstyle that is similar to a sheep's wool, and is a very nice man, even if a bit too protective.

After being forced to kneel before Guilliman, the sheer rage inside Titus allows him to overcome the holds enforced by Guilliman’s genetic code and Khornate blessings.

^ Changed "allowed" to "allows" as per How to Write an Example - Write in Historical Present Tense.

Khorne is a proper name, so the adjective Khornate based on it is also capitalized. If you type in "Khornate" on Google, you will see that almost all examples are capitalized.

this new folder

[[folder: Ninjin, Piiman and Tamanegi]]

Ninjin, Piiman and Tamanegi

Three kids from Syrup Village who are part of the Usopp Pirates. They are very loyal to Usopp and are saddened when he decides to leave. After their "captain" departs with the Straw Hats, they keep his tradition of yelling "Pirates are coming!".

  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: Each of them resembles their named vegetable: A tuft of hair pops out of Ninjin's bandana, making him appear like a carrot; Piiman wears a pepper-shaped hat and Tamanegi's haircut resembles the shape of an onion, with a lock like a onion's bud.
  • Blinding Bangs: Ninjin's eyes are covered by his hair.
  • Edible Theme Naming: Ninjin, Piiman and Tamanegi, respectively, mean "carrot", "pepper" and "onion", each a kind of vegetable. Naturally, their appearances match those of said vegetables.
  • Hidden Depths: Being kids, each of them has an ambition for when they become adults: Ninjin wants to open a bar and Piiman and Tamanegi want to become a carpenter and a writer, respectively.
  • Kid Sidekick: All of them are this to Usopp, following him in every misadventure, and prove to be useful helping him to save Kaya.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: Tamanegi has the habit of disappearing only to reappear out of nowhere screaming.
  • One-Steve Limit: Ninjin's name is the same as that of Carrot, the rabbit mink who follows the Straw Hats after leaving Zou. However, his name is written in kanji, and therefore isn't translated, keeping the names different.
  • Passing the Torch: Not directly, but, after Usopp leaves, they mantain his tradition of yelling "pirates are coming!" every day.
  • She's All Grown Up: Downplayed, since they only go from 9 to 11 years old, but it's evident they've started to hit puberty during the timeskip.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Ninjin has light purple hair.
  • Youthful Freckles: Ninjin has freckles and is a young kid.

for Usopp

  • Crying Wolf: In his debut, he runs through the village yelling that "Pirates are coming", something the villagers are used to hearing every day. Naturally, when pirates really come, no one believes him. Later, it's revealed he started this habit as a kid to cheer his sick mother because his father left to join a pirate crew.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Whenever he cowardly retreats from a fight and then calls all of his courage to go back and fight, he always receives a beating, almost as a punishment for his cowardice and boasting. He still manages to win these fights, though.
  • Token Adult: He starts as the captain of the Usopp Pirates, whose other members are three kids: Ninjin, Piiman and Tamanegi.

An addendum to this section of the Roboutian Heresy's character page.

  • Outside-Context Problem: While Corax is considered to be a primarch of Chaos Undivided, The Chaos Gods didn't want him or his legion to reach whatever they found at the center of the Eye of Terror.

...the Chaos Gods

They’re from the Warp, but their nature is different from the rest of the Daemons...

Also, the addition is by itself on the second level of indentation. If a work has two or more examples, each gets its own entry. This is a rules violation that can result in being suspended from editing, so you should avoid doing it.

You should split off the first example, the one on the line with the trope title, onto the second level of indentation, like this:

  • Outside-Context Problem
    • While Corax is considered to be a primarch of Chaos Undivided, the Chaos Gods didn't want him or his legion to reach whatever they found at the center of the Eye of Terror.

hi, i have a WMG for Gintama and need help proofreading it.

Gintoki is the child of a oni.

Oni and other supernatural entities exist in the world of Gintama. It's easy to forget about them because they are not the part of the manga's main plot, and because of this we don't have many examples of humanoid oni, but let's take a look at the one example we do have: Gedomaru.
She has Monstrous Strength, a penchant for violence, is an extreme sadist, and have red eyes. we have yet to see her being wounded, but we can only assume that her endurance and healing abilities are also superiors to theses of humans. Of course, Gedomaru is a special case, but others oni might share these traits to an extent.
Now let's compare with Gintoki. Strong enough to fight toes to toes with aliens from the strongest race in the universe, can get very violent in combat and his rage on the battlefield got him the nickname White Yaksha, occasionally show a sadistic side, have red eyes... The traits are downplayed in him compared to a complete oni but still there. All of this because he is actually the son of a human and a silver-haired Oni, or the descendant of one. This is why he get back up so quickly after being severely wounded. This is also why he was able to survive on his own before Shoyo found him, he was no normal child.
Others potential descendants of oni include:

  • Jirocho: for the same reasons as Gintoki, really. Same hair color, eye color, super strong, used to be very violent and still is when he fights. By extension, Is daughter, Chin Pirako is one: red eye (drawn without the highlight, just like Gedomaru's!), and a taste for bloodsheds.
  • Okita: Huge sadist, enjoy violence and killing, his brown eyes take a red tint when he gets serious...Really, this guy is a demon.
  • Nobume: Red eyes, killing proficiency that rival Okita's, sadistic tendencies, and was already one of the best assassins of the naraku as a child.
  • Oboro: Probably descended from the same kind of Oni as Gintoki hence the wavy grey hair. But have inherited less oni traits because he is a more distant descendant.
  • Hijikata: Very tough, fierce and ruthless in battle, used to have bouts of Unstoppable Rage when younger,... The nickname "oni vice-captain" might be more literal than it seems. He might also be a more distant descendant, hence why he doesn't have red eyes.

some Shout-Out for one piece

Art

  • When Jora uses the Art Art fruit to turn Nami, Brook, Chopper, Momonosuke and the Thousand Sunny into pieces of art, they become similar to paintings such as those of Picasso and Salvador Dalí. Brook, in particular, is very similar to Munch's "The Scream".
  • Before Block D's fight at the Corrida Colosseum starts, Cavendish comes into the arena riding his horse, Farul, in a pose similar to Napoléon Bonaparte in the painting "Napoleon Crossing the Alps".
  • Zunisha is a large elephant who walks on the ocean's floor using its very long legs. Resembling the subjets of Salvador Dalí's painting "The Elephants", in which said elephants have abnormally long legs. Just to reinforce it, his name, if read backwards, can be interpreted "looks like Dali's painting".
  • When approaching Wano, the Thousand Sunny comes across a very rough sea, and a splash page is drawn exactly like Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa", with a very similar artstyle. At the same time, when sailing near Wano, a large octopus gets on board. Said octopus resembles the one seen in "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife", another of Hokusai's paintings. The reference to the latter is reinforced by a second appearance of these octopus in the hot springs, cleaning up Nami, Robin and Shinobu.
  • In her first appearance, O-Tsuru resembles a woman in a famous Ukiyo-e painting, right down to the same pose and art-style.

I just need help with the corrections, the WMG entries were written by someone else.

     Spoilers for Avengers: Endgame

Ant-Man escapes from the Quantum realm using a time vortex
And that's the way we land into the Time Skip future, and the action gets started. Ant-Man, who everybody thought dead, is back, and explains the Quantum realm thing, which brings time-travel into the table (remember that the time gem is lost, and and that with the Pym family turned into dust and Scott trapped the whole time, nobody even knew the quantum realm was a thing). Now, with time-travel available, the Avengers can do something about the snap, which also explains why didn't they try something before.

  • While it was a rat hitting the tunnel's control pannel what caused Scott's escape rather than any action on his part, eveything else is correct.

There will be a Time Skip midway through the film
This will likely explain why Cassie appeared to re-casted despite the trailers apparently taking place only a few months after the Snap.

  • Kind of confirmed, but the timeskip happened in the first act of the movie.

Captain Marvel will destroy the Infinity Stones once and for all.
Carol is like Scarlet Witch in one very important and unique respect: Her powers are derived from an infinity stone, meaning that like Scarlet Witch, her powers are capable of destroying other infinity stones.

  • Jossed. Thanos did it before anyone could revert the snap.
