Tropes:
- All Deserts Have Cacti: It's not clear where the desert is, but it has walking, talking, humanoid cacti.
- All Just a Dream: At one point the Cactus Girl claims the entire desert is a metaphor for the viewer's struggles before giving them another playful poke.
- Bad Santa: In "Sleepy Reindeer Girl Naps in Your Living Room", it's revealed that Santa's business has become "Santa Corp", and Santa's minions use a fleet of airships to carry the gifts.
- Beautiful Dreamer: The protagonist in "Yandere Best Friend Won't Let You Leave". Of course the Yandere was stalking him as he fell asleep (and she probably placed him in her bed).Where will I sleep? Hmm... well... obviously I'd sleep here with you.
- Bespectacled Cutie: Annabelle in "C-Can I Sit Here...? The Girl on My Train is a Shy Megane! is a shy but sweet glasses wearing girl.
- Big Beautiful Woman: Obviously, the roomie in "Chubby Roommate Shares Midnight Snack".
- Cactus Person: The Cactus Girl, who looks like a green-haired Ambiguously Brown girl covered in spines, in a yellow hoodie!
- Continuity Nod: Several are made in "Caring Friend Soothes You to Sleep" about the Yandere best friend video, including remarking about watching the protagonist sleep, taking pictures of them, and shoving an Ambien down their throat.
- The Corrupter: The Succubus Wife, but also the roomie in "Chubby Roommate Shares Midnight Snack", who teases the protagonist into eating cookies and fries and drinking soda in the middle of the night. Including by repeating the word "cookie" in an alluring and relaxing way.
- Cursed with Awesome: In "Accidentally Cursed by a Fairy Cupid" the protagonist is, well, cursed to be alone forever. But the fairy cupid has called maintenance to fix the situation, is adorable, and she'll stay with him every night until then. And a variety of more or less demonic "services" too.
- Cute Bookworm: Annabelle, from "C-Can I Sit Here...? The Girl on My Train is a Shy Megane!"
- "Dinner, Bath, or Sex" Offer: The Succubus Wife tries it. Like one of the comments says it,Omg she actually did it! She asked the three welcome-home wants of anime: dinner, bath, or… "wa-ta-shi!" How date she attempt to use my otaku side against me?!?!
- Evil Sounds Deep: CaptainNemoVA made a very deep low voice for the Magic 8-Ball in "Magic 8-Ball Fortune Teller Reads Your Future",
- Excited Title! Two-Part Episode Name!: Used for the Nemuru High videos ! And the Dawn ones.
- Fantastic Arousal: Happens to the (human) protagonist, with ear bites, in "Succubus Waifu Comforts You After a Long Day".
- Fantastic Racism: Cactus People see humans as idiots, given that the only ones they see are the ones who trek across the desert unprepared.
- Foregone Conclusion: The protagonist in "Succubus Waifu Comforts You After a Long Day", who resisted her advances for a full year, but...It's been a year. How much of your soul have I eaten, hm ? Not that it would be that bad, I wouldn't let you get too corrupted. Darling, I like you the way you are. My sweet, adorable human. Although, maybe you could stand to be... a little corrupted. I'd really love to see how your eyes glass over as you give in, ehehe.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Though they bite, in "Trapped in an Elevator with Your Thirsty Vampire Boss".
- Genre Savvy: Annabelle identifies people as characters, and successfully identifies the protagonist as the protagonist, who replies she must be his heroine, causing her to get flustered.
- Hero with an F in Good: The Cupid Fairy in "Accidentally Cursed by a Fairy Cupid" seems to be one at first, but she decides to stay with the protagonist every night until the curse is lifted.
- Holding Hands: Raphaela does this to accompany the protagonist to sleep.
- Hospital Hottie: Raphaela the Robot Nurse claims her model was designed to be "a bit... eye-candy".
- Hybrid Monster: In "Accidentally Cursed by a Fairy Cupid", the fairy cupid is part demon too!It's been a lonely Valentine's this year... almost... weirdly lonely. You're trying to sleep it off, when you hear a little voice panicking over you. It's a fairy? Wait, a fairy with horns...?
- Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: The Cute Pirate Girl isn't exactly intimidating in her hostage attempt. She is unable to draw her sword, asks the viewer to do it for her, and is surprised when they don't give it back.
- Subverted in her "Waifu Door Hand Hook Car Door" Halloween video, who was really a Serial Killer
- Kiss of the Vampire: In The 'Verse, it's very satisfying for both biter and bitee as it relieves of stress.
- Lampshade Hanging: The Chubby Roommate in "Chubby Roommate Shares Midnight Snack" voluntarily uses trigger sounds and turns a midnight snacking session into an impromptu trigger ASMR session to help the protagonist back to sleep. Recursive ASMR!Hey, um, have you ever heard about ASMR ? Yeah, um, it's like, the tingling thing.
- Lap Pillow: The Succubus Wife makes an amazing but dangerous lap pillow.
- Little Bit Beastly: Lampshaded by Vicks the Reindeer Girl.Don't you see the antlers? I'm a reindeer! Or, well, a reindeer girl. You've never heard of a reindeer girl? Um... Have you heard of catgirls? Yeah, you know, catgirls, like, I'm like that but instead of going "nya, nya" and wrecking your furniture, I can fly.
- Magical Girl: Mint Chip from, well, "Mint Chip Ice Cream, but it's a Magical Girl!". She comes from a series of ice cream flavored ones called MagiMerryCreamuFighters! She's also a Tsundere~Description: You're about to enjoy a tub of mint chip ice cream— but when you open the tub, a magical girl appears! And... she's kind of a tsundere? (...what happened to your ice cream though...?)
- Mystical White Hair: Vicks, the Reindeer Girl.
- Nice Girl: Additionally, the girl in 'Caring Friend Soothes you to sleep' and the yandere best friend seems to be this beneath her yandere exterior.
- Patient Childhood Love Interest: There's a "Good Morning, Every Morning! My Childhood Friend is My Neighbour?!", featuring a Genki Girl Osanajimi named Merry.
- Perky Female Minion: A jaded variant in the Fortune Teller, who is one to her hungry scrying Magic 8-Ball.
- Personality Chip: Robot Nurse Raphaela claims that her emotions are simulated, but since it causes her to act accordingly, they seem to function as normal, true emotions.
- Pirate Girl: The Cute Pirate Girl tries to became one, but got kicked out of the crew. Her attempts to become a captain fail when she is unable to hold a single fisherman hostage.
- Prophecy Twist: In the Magic 8-Ball video, the Magic 8-Ball claims that the future gets set in stone when it's scryed, and implies he's writing it as it goes. Badly.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Subverted. Black-to-green gradient eyes are probably a more sinister sign, since both the Succubus Wife and the Fortune Teller have them.
- Ridiculously Human Robots: Lampshaded by Robot Nurse Raphaela herself. They even talk with each other even if their emotions are "simulated".
- Robot Girl: The girl of "Sweet Robot Nurse Takes Care of You", who's named Raphaela (or RN-621). Her words are not very robotic-sounding (but her words are).
- Sealed Good in a Can: The MagiMerryCreamuFighters from "Mint Chip Ice Cream, but it's a Magical Girl!", who are supposed to fight off the forces of bitter with sweetness !
- Shoddy Shindig: The various parties the protagonist and Dawn meet at, beginning from "Hiding in the Bathroom on New Years?"
- Shout-Out:
- The Cactus Girl tells the viewer that if the don't up a moving they will "have a bad time", in reference to Undertale.
- The Pirate Girl is introduced emerging from a barrel like Luffy from One Piece.
- The Barista mentions at one point, working with another barista that would use bad puns to flirt with the guy she liked, referencing a video by Fearless Lyn, another ASMR user.
- Shrinking Violet: Annabelle, from "C-Can I Sit Here...? The Girl on My Train is a Shy Megane!". She however has enough courage to talk to the protagonist.
- Sleep Cute: The friend in "Caring Friend Soothes You to Sleep" coaxes the protagonist into this, succeeding as they comfortably fall asleep while cuddling and getting comfy with each other, with the girl even tucking you in.
- Spinoff: Vivi's making a subset of her videos share the fictional japanese school setting of Nemuru High "with all the usual girls found in anime harems (tsunderes, yanderes, himederes, etc)".
- The Slacker: The Slacker Maid wakes up in the afternoon after staying up watching Netflix, and refuses to the house as it is "already clean".
- Succubi and Incubi: The Succubus Wife. "Succubus Waifu Comforts You After a Long Day".
- The Tease: Many of the girls, with of course the Succubus Wife standing out. And the Chubby Roommate. and the Barista from "Friendly Barista Fails to Actually Recommend You Coffee", who points out...I think the only time I've been asked for recommendation has been when someone is trying to flirt which is like, ugh, can you not ? I'm trying to work here... not that I am accusing you of that, right ? [Giggly sigh] Right.
- Thirsty Desert: The Cactus Girl helps the viewer travel the desert to the nearest oasis while pointing out how poorly prepared they were.
- The Vamp: Vera is called a "office vamp", but doesn't seem to be evil... just thirsty and bored of artificial blood.
- Tsundere: In addition to Mint Chip, there is also Rei from "Switch Seats with Me! The Girl Next to Me is a Total Tsundere?". Though, Rei has a valid reason to be angry at the protagonist.
- Yandere: Many examples, including a poor shy girl coerced by the protagonist to be one (and she's a natural at it).
- You Know I'm Black, Right?: The Cactus Girl apologizes for calling the viewer a human, and remarks that humans all die in the desert and that she finds it funny, only to realize the viewer is indeed a human.
