Interested, but I've already signed up for that Heist RP. Let me think about whether I can handle two R Ps at once and I'll get back to you.
Interested
Yay! I'll need at least one more person to start, though, and I would prefer three more. I'm sure we'll get them though.
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?Sure, why not? Although I do have the urge to try playing a villain at the moment, but we'll see how that turns out.
Is the focus going to be primarily combat, roleplaying, a mix?
Trump delenda estInterests are piqued for me, but I'm not sure who to play as.
Good, now that we have enough people,I'll get to work on that signup sheet.
@tricksterson: A mix of both. I plan it to have a slight emphasis on combat (it is a war, after all), but there will be plenty of roleplay to go around.

please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?Guess I need to pick a character then. Already narrowed it down to two options, I think.◊
"Yup. That tasted purple."Okay, am definitely interested. What power level are we talking?
Trump delenda estAm I allowed to use an OC from another RP?
GIVE ME YOUR FACEUm... I think that's a little arbitrary. There's plenty of demons with balanced powersets out there.
"Yup. That tasted purple."@tricksterson: Somewhere around the power level of Superman, minus invincibility.
@Philosopher Stones: If you link to the RP, I'm OK with it.
@Deadbeatloser 22: OK, thanks for mentioning that. I'll edit the wording a little, we'll ban REALLY POWERFUL demons instead. That way, Inu Yasha is fair game, but Satan is not.
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now? Also, I'm not sure if you mentioned whether or not already, but if you did it wasn't exactly clear, so... Are original characters allowed? Not sure if I'll play one or not, just thought it needed to be asked seeing how some of the stuff in the opening blurb at least seems to imply it.
@Moerin: For the former, good point. Would Jedi Knight power levels work? For the latter, yes, OCs are allowed.
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?So, um... I don't know about actually joining, but some of my friends might and I figured I'd make a suggestion about power levels.
Giving a blanket power level is a bad idea. Especially since there's a big difference in scale between Superman and a Jedi Knight. A huge difference in scale.
The best way to judge powersets and power levels is to judge them on a case-by-case basis. There's some powers that are bad(instantly kill anything, obviously, mind control) to have in RP's at all, too.
Um.. sorry if this is unwanted especially since I don't know if I'll even join, but I figured I might just try and make a suggestion to help out...
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."All right then, case-by-case. Also, if SOMEBODY could just PLEASE post a signup already... man, I wish I could edit the name of the thread...
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?Well, actually, I think the power level thing may be causing some hesitation in potential players.
Um, one of the things I meant is that...
Blanket-banning certain character types is actually kind of a bad idea. There's some settings where gods are actually very run-of-the-mill and not too powerful(for example, in Touhou, Moriya Suwako is a goddess and yet she's actually rather middling in power levels).
When I suggested judging things on a case-by-case basis, I meant anything, honestly.
... Um, still just a suggestion, though, really, you don't have to take it.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."You requested a signup, and it shall be done. just tell me if something needs a change.

He hates evil in all its forms and can easily be riled up about it; if he witnesses someone being opressed or are suffering from injustice he will not show a moment of hesitation and will instantly step in to help those in need,Sonic is extremely benevolent though he has been described as quick-tempered occasionally. - Speed:Sonic is often best known for his speed, often the reason of his nickname "Fastest thing alive", in line with his super speed, Sonic has displayed amazing feats of movement and has the reaction time to match. He possesses great acrobatic skills and agility, alongside astonishing reflexes, making him able to avoid large and small obstacles with precise jumps and delicate movements.
- Homing attack:The homing attack allows sonic to home directly into a nearby enemy while in mid-air with a target-seeking midair spin attack

- Background:Not much is known about Sonic's early life. It is unknown who his family is or if he has one, neither is it known how Sonic gained his trademark speed or if he was born with it. All that is known is that Sonic was born on Christmas Island, and that he has spent his life traveling the world while searching for adventure.
After multiple adventures and helping many frieends along,Sonic did not expected to be teleported to help the multiverse along with other heroes from different universes.

Accepted!
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?Oh right, uh, I am working on something for this, just that for a few reasons it's taking a little longer than expected. Hopefully it'll be up by the end of the week at least, ahah.
Kinda weird that those that were interested haven't signed up,hope they might do so,woudn't want to see this signup for the RP to die.
I'm considering playing a smuggler who got his hands on the DienDriver. Is that possible?
Well this certainly looks interesting, I might see if I can play as one of my OC villains.
(Copy pasted from the Villain Critique Thread.)
Name:
Universe: Darkor (Though honestly, I'm thinking of changing that name, it just sounds silly in hindsight.)
Gender/Species: Male/Human
Age: 16
Appearance: Reyn is physically unimpressive, Rather small and skinny. He has calm grey eyes that seem to study everyone and everything around him, and his soft, pale features and hairless dome made him look far younger than he actually is, innocent and childlike.
Side: Evil... ish
Personality: Reyn's personality could best be described as "dolphin like". He is playful, inquisitive, friendly, extremely intelligent, and perfectly willing to brutally murder someone just for the fun of it. Reyn's goal in life is simply to enjoy himself, he has no interest in money or power except as a means to an end. As he puts it
"Okay so let's say that I stole a billion dollars and became king of the world... Then what?"
Unfortunately, Reyn's sadism and complete lack of empathy for others frequently leads him to commit atrocities for his own entertainment. Reyn has a hobby of torturing people both physically and psychologically until they're completely broken and because Reyn loves a challenge, he likes it when the victims fight back since it makes things far more interesting than if they just run away or cower. This is why Reyn considers Sabyn to be his best friend, because despite everything Reyn puts Sabyn through, Sabyn has never given up and this has provided Reyn with some of the best fun he's ever had.
Reyn admires any quality that makes someone an interesting opponent: Courage, Intelligence, Determination ect. conversely he has little patience for boring cowardly, arrogant or stupid people. Hence the saying
"The ones who run, he kills. The ones who fight, he takes"
Outside of his mischievous love of "screwing with people", he is an avid fan of strategy games, though he finds chess dull. He also has a keen thirst for knowledge and enjoys meeting new people (He is always optimistic that he will find someone "Interesting" to play with)
In his interactions with people he is always polite and friendly. He could be gouging out someone's eye while calmly disscussing politics with them. While he does have a sarcastic and informal side, there is never any venom in his barbs, it's all in good natured fun.
Reyn is also an excellant sport, He never begrudges another person their victory, rather he will applaud them on finding a way to beat him, and look forward to a rematch.
Reyn does not divide the world into "Good" and "Evil" as he believes those concepts are ultimately meaningless labels for whatever someone doesn't like.
"Plus they're also quite hypocritical 'THOU SHALT NOT KILL!! Now go kill those people who I don't like'"
Instead he devides the world into "Interesting" and "Boring"
Objectives: Reyn has several goals:
- 1 To have fun and live life to the full.
- 2 To kill all boring, stupid and cowardly people to create a world filled with nothing but brave, intelligent, interesting and creative individuals.
- 3 to put said brave, intelligent people through a living nightmare so that the strongest of them may grow even stronger.
"That which doesn't kill me makes me stronger" - Freidrich Nietzche
- 4 To take those in power and put them through the same tests in order to see if they are truly worthy of that power.
- 5 To die at the hands of a Worthy Opponent, knowing that he tried his hardest and give it his all.
Powers: Reyn is an extremely intelligent individual, easily able to out maneuver and out think his opponents. He is also a devastatingly strong combatent, thanks to his magical skill and genetically enhanced strength and speed.
Over all though, his greatest strength is his ability to get inside the heads of his opponents, and use their own psyches against them.
Background: Sabyn first met Reyn at a special club that taught it's students the art of "Mengarrada spellcasting", a form of magic that worked by accessing raw magical energy, rather than manipulaing the environment, making it especially suited to self defence. Reyn had been adopted by the club at the age of twelve when he had been found wandering the wilderness by himself.
For four years, Reyn was Sabyn's closest friend and fiercest rival at the club, but unknown to him or anyone else, Reyn was quickly becoming far more skilled at magic than he pretended, easily overtaking the other students.
Being the theatrical type however, Reyn choose to wait untill a suitably "dramatic" moment to show off his new skill.
That moment came when he used it to massacre every man woman and child at the club.
Except one.
Where everyone else just ran and begged for their lives. Sabyn stayed, no matter how much pain Reyn inflicted upon his best friend, Sabyn just stood back up. Reyn's already high respect for Sabyn skyrocketed at that moment and he realised that killing the boy would be a complete waste. So Reyn let Sabyn escape in order so that the boy could recover himself. But Reyn only has so much patience and wasn't content to wait for years for Sabyn to grow stronger, instead Reyn began to manipulate events from a distance (only occasionly directly confronting Sabyn) in order to play an unending series of sadistic games with his best friend. The goal is to see just how far Sabyn can be pushed before he snaps.
To this day, Reyn has still not been dissapointed.
Reyn's character is something of a subversion of the typical Child Villain that one sees in Kid Hero stories (Just as Sabyn is himself a subversion of typical Kid Heroes). To quote the page
"A Kid Hero will commonly, but not universally, have two primary adversaries; his most dangerous opponent is usually an adult villain who serves as the hero's Arch-Nemesis (and even the Big Bad), while his second most dangerous opponent will usually be a younger villain, closer to his own age or slightly older, who serves as the hero's Evil Counterpart. These two are rarely affiliated, but if they do work togther, the adult will almost certainly be the Big Bad with the young villain as an extremely reluctant and rebellious Dragon."
Reyn initially seems to fit this trope, a young villain the same age as Sabyn, under the control of the seemingly much more powerful and ruthless Genesis. However, it quickly becomes apparent that Reyn is by far the most sadistic, intelligent and dangerous individual in the story. And it is in fact HE who is manipulating Genesis, not the other way around.
Relevant Tropes: (I thought I should probably include these as well.)
- Above Good and Evil
- Affably Evil: Unlike most instances of this trope that overlap with Complete Monster, Reyn's friendliness is genuine, he truly means it when he says he considers you a friend. The problem is that Reyn makes no disctinction between the word "friend" and the word "toy".
- A God Am I: While it's subtle, and he never outright refers to himself as a deity, he nevertheless believes that his outlook on life puts him above and beyond the rest of humanity.
- Agony Beam: His primary attack, a tendril of red lightning that causes unbearable pain to whomever it touches. The "G-rated" part is averted however, as the victims of the attack can be easily identified by thier horrifically mutilated flesh, an effect that has often been attributed to the victims own body tearing itself apart to escape the pain.
- The Anti-Nihilist: A rare villainous example, Reyn believes that all morality is simply a nonsensical human invention, and that people should just do whatever they want to do, without being restricted by meaningless codes. He often goes out of his way to satirise conventional morality and Lampshade holes in it's logic (See Moral Event Horizon and Men Are the Expendable Gender below)
- A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read: For a very simple reason; If you can look into his mind what's to stop him from looking into YOURS?
- Asexual.
- Ax-Crazy
- Bad Ass: Utterly curbstomps the people he encounters in his earlier appearences.
- Badass Boast: Has one when he reveals his deception to the head of Genesis
Reyn "Oh please, I already rule you. I just want to have some fun."
- Berserk Button: Unfounded arrogance and cowardice REALLY pisses him off. even then, it never rises beyond Tranquil Fury
- Big Bad: By the end.
- Blue-and-Orange Morality: He has this kind of outlook, but his actions are that of a Complete Monster.
- Breaking Speech: A common tactic of his.
- Break the Cutie: What he does to his "friends." Unlike most villains who torment their victims, Reyn actually wants to trigger their Unstoppable Rage.
- Card-Carrying Villain: Played With. See Obliviously Evil for more information.
- The Chessmaster
- Cold-Blooded Torture / No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: he's a sadist, what do you expect?
- Combat Pragmatist
- The Corrupter
- Creepy Child.
- Creepy Monotone
- Dangerously Genre-Savvy: Reyn has definitely read the Evil Overlord List. Here's an example of something he might do:
Except...
It was all a lie. The crystal was just an ordinary crystal, it could never have allowed a Greater Daemon to enter our world. And now, the protagonists have slaughtered tens of millions of people. All for nothing.
- Played for Laughs at one point, see Tempting Fate below:
- Deadpan Snarker
- Death Seeker: Played with: while he's not actively looking for death, Reyn makes it clear that he'd rather die at the hands of a Worthy Opponent knowing that he gave it his all, than to win and live on with the boredom.
- The Dreaded: People who know what he's capable of are absolutely terrified of him. And for good reason.
- Hero Killer: If you're lucky he'll kill you.
- Dissonant Serenity / Dissonant Laughter: Hovers somewhere between these two tropes. His attitude towards everything he does is that of someone having a leisurely afternoon with his friends.
- Enfante Terrible.
- Enigmatic Minion: Seems like this in his first appearence, before upgrading to...
- Dragon-in-Chief / The Heavy / Dragon with an Agenda: Then finally...
- Dragon Ascendant / Big Bad.
- Evil Counterpart: For Sabyn. Both of them are young, intelligent, friendly, snarky and fun loving tricksters who relish a good challenge. But Reyn is sociopathic where Sabyn is passionate.
- The Evil Genius.
- Evil Is Petty: He goes out of his way to defy this trope,to the point where he will not raise ahand against those who insult him, because he feels such petulance beneath him. While he has no concern for the laws of others, he never the less values and practices great self control.
- Evil Is Stylish: Reyn openly admits that he has a flair for the dramatic, most of his plans involve setting the heroes up for some kind of grand "event", designed to test their mental fortitude
- Eviler than Thou:Towards "Genesis". That's right, between him and a company that uses civillians as test subjects for experimiments and makes frequent Deals With The Devil, Genesis is actually the lesser of two evils.
- Evil Virtues: Several:
- Determination: Reyn does not believe in losses, only setbacks. untill he's dead and buried, he'll keep coming back for more. He may occasionally concede a round or retreat against overwhelming odds. But rest assured, he's mounting a comeback.
- Hard Work.
- Honesty: Mostly because he knows everyone excpects him to act like a mustache twirling back-stabber. So he keeps his word to avoid being predictable.
- Patience.
- Resourcefulness: Reyn will use anything to win
- VALOR
- Friendly Enemy: see Affably Evil above. However, this is decidedly one-sided, as his "Best Friend" outright despises him, but the way Reyn sees it, just because someone hates you, doesn't mean you have to hate them.
- There are occasional signs of their old friendship, see Tempting Fate below for an example. This is likely because they're personalities are so similar.
- For the Evulz: Double Subverted: At first it looks like everything Reyn does is for the sheer fun of it, but then it's revealed that he's trying to create a world filled with nothing but brave and intelligent people, making him look like a Well-Intentioned Extremist. But then it's shown that his motivation for doing that is simply because Brave, intelligent people make for more interesting toys, so we're right back 'round to For the Evulz
- It's All About Me: At the end of the day, Reyn is purely self motivated.
- Kansas City Shuffle: Frequently employs distractions in his game plan.
- Kick the Dog: Many MANY examples, but his first onscreen moment came when he attacked a fortified palace in search of the Mcguffin. As Reyn fights the palace guards, The Matriarch tells her daughter to take the artifact and run to safety. The girl gets about three steps before being blasted.
- See Men Are the Expendable Gender for further commentary by him.
- Knight of Cerebus: Played With. He's much more relaxed and comedic than the serious, no-nonsense soldiers and assassins that came before him. But he ultimately fit's this trope as the most dangerous character in the show.
- Lack of Empathy
- Laughably Evil: Of the competant variety, see Trickster Archetype for more info
- Manipulative Bastard.
- Men Are the Expendable Gender: After killing a small child, he outright mocks this trope in his reaction to the citizens cries of outrage:
- Moral Event Horizon: He most likely crosses it when, inspired by the events surrounding Men Are the Expendable Gender above, he kidnaps an entire city's worth of children. Keeping the adults distracted via a plan to install a virus that would apparently turn their technology and magic against them. Reyn proceeds to take a leaf from the Pied Piper's book, invoking Stockholm Syndrome and manipulating the children into forming a pseudo cult around him. He then straps several tonnes of explosives to their chests and has them walk into the city. Installing a device to the bomb that will make it explode if the child hears someone talking to them. Thus, with all their electronic and magical countermeasures disabled to stop a fictitious virus, and no way to talk to the children without triggering the bomb, the adults are left with two choices:
- 1. Knowingly gun down hundreds of children, many whom they know personally or are even parents of.
- 2. Die in an explosion.
- Murderers Are Rapists: Completely Averted. See Asexual above. On top of that, Reyn finds rape to be far too crude and animalistic for his tastes. Although he does apreciate the psychological effect it can have on people, the act itself holds no appeal.
- No-Nonsense Nemesis: Though very rare, when faced with a legitimite threat to himself, Reyn will use his full power to regain the advantage. Once things are on a more manageable level however, he'll go right back to screwing around.
- Not So Different: There is a disturbingly large simularity between Reyn and Sabyn.
- Obliviously Evil: Played With. While Reyn can recognise that, in dictionary terms, he is evil. he doesn't believe the label means anything.
- Pragmatic Villainy: despite his fun loving nature, Reyn is still smart enough to avoid pointlessly self destructive actions, and is often quite cautious while setting up his "events". an Anti-Climax isn't very dramatic after all.
- The Sociopath
- Soft-Spoken Sadist
- Tempting Fate: At one point, he and Sabyn start Tempting Fate against EACH OTHER
Reyn: Why thank you.
Sabyn: Yeah, I mean; What Could Possibly Go Wrong?!?
(*Beat*)
Reyn: ...You did NOT just go there.
Sabyn: *Evil Grin* Oh yes I did
Reyn: *Smiles calmy* You're right Sabyn, things do look rather dire for you, but at least it can't get any worse
Sabyn: Nothing can stop you now! YOU'RE INVINCIBLE!!
Reyn: But I am just one man! What could one man possibly do!?
Exile: ''What the Hell are you two doing!?!?
Sabyn: "We're tempting fate against each other."
Reyn: "He's winning"
(*Beat*)
Exile "... Okay, have fun with that."
- Threshold Guardian: Reyn intentionally acts as a rare purely evil example of this, one of his main goals is to turn Sabyn into a Worthy Opponent strong enough to kill him. The problem, is that this woyuld involve turning Sabyn into another Complete Monster.
- Trickster Archetype: Reyn's mishievious nature means he spends as much time screwing with people as he does posing a genuinely lethal threat. For example, when the rebels attack one of Genesis' main facilities, Reyn hacks the rebels P.A systems to play "Here Comes The Bride".
- The Unfettered: He is the master of his fate. No one else.
- Victory Is Boring: His Fatal Flaw. Reyn is entirely motivated by fun and challenge, meaning he hesitates and holds back when it looks like he could easily win. His curiosity means he can also be distracted from the mission by something more interesting.
- What You Are in the Dark: Reyn frequently invokes this on the heroes, in order to send them over the Moral Event Horizon.
- Worthy Opponent: One of his main goals in life is to find and create these.
- Xanatos Gambit: Many of his plans involve backing people into a corner where the only options the have available are the ones he wants them to take.
- Batman Gambit: What he uses to back them into the corner in the first place.
- You and What Army?: Parodied in this exchange:
Reyn: "Uh-huh, You and What Army??"
Bob: "THIS ARMY!!"
(*Cue Gunship Rescue *)
Reyn: "Right" (*Blows up the gunship*) "To reiterate,'' You and What Army??"
(*Beat*)
Reyn: "I thought so."
- You Said You Would Let Them Go / I Lied: Subverted. At one point, Reyn kidnaps a man's family and uses them as leverage, promising to return them if the man retrieves a powerful artifact for him. Naturally the man fully expects Reyn to betray his end of the bargain, but seeing no other way out, he agrees and retrieves the artifact. To the man's shock and relief, Reyn lets his family go completely unharmed. And they both reveal that he had been nothing but a gratious host to them, treating them politely and respectfully.
- However... as the days go by, the mans family starts to become horribly horribly ill. Desperate to save them, the man searches for the cause of their illness, and discovers a horrible truth The area the man went through was saturated with cursed magic, and now, just by being near his family, he has unwittingly condemmed them to a slow agonising death.
There is not one universe, but rather an infinity of universes, collectively called the Multiverse. There are universes to represent every work of fiction or creative writing in the history of mankind. Yes, even the sucky ones, or that storyboard you scribbled when you were eight.
The inhabitants of these universes know of each others existence, but they mostly just do their own thing. There has never been a need to unite as one entity... UNTIL NOW.
All the villains of the Multiverse have decided that they are fed up with being defeated again and again, so one man, going by the name of Tenel Nenel, builds the first ever artificial multiversial portal. Together, the villains create Sadland, and attept to take over the multiverse.
Luckily, some Jedi scientists from the Star Wars universe create their own multiversial portal. Now, all the heroes must band together to save the multiverse...
All right, just putting this story out there for an interest check. It's based on the big, decade-old world bulging in my head, but it's set in it's distant past (we're talking on the line of billions of years here). I never could decide on the true origin of my world, so I'm letting you guys decide it. This works because there a very few, if any, references to it in the world's archives. Maybe it was so terrible that the winners actively attempted to make sure history forgot it...
You will be able to play any character from any fictional franchise. You can even make up OC characters if you are so inclined, but I think that this RP's main focus will be on famous (or not-so-famous) fictional characters.
Also, yes, you will be able to be a villain, but you will probably lose. Who knows, though, you might pull a surprise win, and I can start a second roleplay about the rebellion...
Enough with delusions of grandeur. Here's the sign-up sheet:
