Weird dreams

I had a dream recently where my dad and I were either in a car or a plane, because somehow this detail kept changing. Either way, we were driving down the road, and the plane-car still functioned much like a regular car. Also, no one seemed to find it unusual that we were driving down the road in a plane.

I decided that we should listen to some music, so I put in a CD of Turn on the Bright Lights by Interpol... which, despite that being an album I'm really fond of, I don't actually own on CD yet. It suddenly stopped at some point, and I was confused as to why - apparently, I had to put in the next disc.

There was also someone doing magic at a hotel. He accidentally turned himself into a mouse or rat at some point.

One weird dream from a couple of years ago involved me in an arcade on a cruise ship. There was a space for tabletop games, and I somehow got roped into playing the licensed TTRPG for, of all licenses, Love Island. I was playing alongside my mother, two other random women and actual Ian Stirling^note The narrator for the show. Contrary to what you might think, Stirling was NOT the GM. (That responsibility went to one of the women I didn't know.) No, he was playing a character. My character threatened to kick his to the curb within the first minute of them meeting because he insulted her outfit. Apparently she blew most of her personal clothing budget on one swimsuit, and you will appreciate that, thank you very much. Did I mention that Stirling's character was literally just Mr. Clean?

The weirdest thing about it, though? I've never even seen a single full episode of Love Island. Dreaming About Shows You Don't Watch.

I'm stuck in a bar/library/whatever in the middle of nowhere. Whoever brought me there is not around anymore and I lost my phone so I have no way to contact anyone and I don't know how to get back home. This one actually scared me so much that I had to hug tight to some plush in order to fall asleep again.

The best character is always the one-shot disguise.

I dreamt I was on a plane, but the plane staff were all anthropomorphic dogs, and when I looked out of the window, the ground was made out of lego.

At some point last night/this morning I dreamed I was playing the original Wii Fit, and naturally, things were weird. There were a LOT more minigames, for one. The ones I can remember include:

• A weird version of the Aerobic Stepping minigame, which was about the same except the music sounded off-key and the Miis on the stage would periodically disappear and reappear randomly.
• A version of the Running minigame where you were carrying a giant candle and had to make sure you didn't run so fast that it would go out.
• Another weird version of the Running minigame except it was from a top-down perspective and Wuhu Island was covered in snow. The minigame's description also touted it as featuring characters from South Park as guests, but no South Park characters ever appeared.
• A weird version of the marble minigame with mazes/platforms that were designed in ways that frankly I don't think would even be remotely possible to win.

Also, if you did badly at a minigame (and I played the weird version of the Aerobic Stepping minigame very badly because the Wii Balance Board missed every other step for some reason), the game would subtract from your total burned-calorie count for the day, as though the game thought you did so badly that it gave you calories back or something.

The last part is hilarious! That reminds me of the "Credit card: declines" memes.

Last night, I had a dream about a cancelled Pixar movie. Strangely, the entire movie had been completed, but Pixar had chosen not to release it because it was "too different" from their other work. Maybe it was because the story focused too much on mature and dark themes, with too few whimsical or fun elements?

The movie started out with a little girl. There was a funny scene where she was playing a Five Nights At Freddys expy game. When the game played the Toreador Song, she sang along by going "Har har har-har har" like the FNAF Beatbox.

But then, it shifted focus to the girl's teenage sister. Turns out, the little girl was a Decoy Protagonist, and her older sister was the actual protagonist. The teenage girl had to take care of her little sister on her own, because their parents had been killed when their car fell into some body of water. Most of the movie was about how much the teenage girl was struggling in life, though I don't remember much about her other struggles.

The only really "fun" thing after that was that the teenage girl met the ghost of a black cat. The ghost cat was an expy of Salem, and he even had a similar voice and a snarky sense of humor. What I want to know is, why could this cat come back as a ghost, but the parents couldn't? My theory: The cat was actually the girls' dad. His ghost just got stuck in the form of a cat for some reason. IDK where the mom's ghost is.

This almost feels like a setup for a new Sabrina the Teenage Witch work, but I definitely remember that it was an animated, original Pixar movie, and there was nothing really magical about it except for the ghost cat. I can understand why Pixar would be reluctant about it, but then, why did they let it go through all the stages of production?

Still hoping for Klonoa to get a new game... or a movie like this

When I was in 8th grade, I had a dream where about 20 students and 3 teachers from my school were being transferred to a laboratory instead, and I was one of the selected students.

I'm not really sure what we were doing at the lab; it seemed to be some sort of weird psychology experiment. I don't really remember it looking much like a typical science lab, either - one of the only rooms I remembered looked like my American history classroom at that time. One particular scene I remember (which went on for a while) was a part where I was wearing a long, blond wig, and everyone made fun of me for it.

The thing with the blond wig wasn't really brought up again, and it then cut to me carrying around a giant sausage made out of Spam that kept falling apart. I didn't realize it was falling apart until I got back into my classroom and saw that I only had one piece of it left - people around me started handing me pieces of the sausage, and one kid (who I really was having trouble with in real life) gave me a notebook instead, so I slapped him with the remaining piece. Looking back on it, though, I feel like there's a bit of Accidental Innuendo my mind created...

There was also a part where all 20 of us stole a car and Escaped from the Lab. Don't ask how we all fit in the car, I'm not sure either.

I dreamt I had a housemaid named Louise, who was super inept and only kept her job because of the delicious hot cocoa she made. At one point, she went off to clean the cat's bowl, but brought back a cat tree instead.

In last night's dream, I was in a production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee - a show I really have been a fan of for a while, and also one I'd like to be in someday. Except... it was basically In Name Only, and a lot of songs and such were Adapted Out, including the character I was playing. The latter I didn't even find out until opening night, when I was waiting backstage for my non-existent cue... which raises the question, why the hell did they cast an actor to play a character that wasn't even in the play? Even if they made the decision to cut the character later, I'm pretty surprised that they wouldn't let the actor know.

The next dream was about my dad living near a train station, even though it also looked a lot like the apartment complex he lives in. I was going there to help him with his new house, and saw that there were a lot of cars stopped on the bridge. I got out of my car (sidenote: I don't actually have my driver's license yet) and apparently was supposed to meet my dad at the gift shop somewhere. I got a fruit-flavored soda at a vending machine, and while getting some Doritos, saw a teenage girl doing a funny dance. I asked her what she was doing, and she answered "The llama man dance!" (Nothing about "the llama man dance" was ever mentioned again. Sounds to me like it was something related to the llama incident.)

A random thing I was buying at this gift shop was one of those "paint your own" toys, which was an alligator - the toys came in a few different animals as well. Finally, my dad showed up, and the first thing we did was quote some lines from "Party in the CIA" by "Weird Al" Yankovic (which seems like something we'd probably do). My dad also mentioned what was holding up all of those people on the bridge - there was a train passing through.

I was attacked by a Gillman-esque creature in a taxi while it was driving down a river. Said Gillman-esque creature just teleported right here in thin air.

One thing I have learned in pledging my life to this quest is that I have been betrayed again and again. And again. And again.

I really has a weird dream about being in some magic school(?) and I saw a hidden door at the end of it.

"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."

A couple of nights ago, I had a slightly disturbing dream where I watched a "horrific" scene from a non-existant video game (likely Resident Evil-adjacent), where someone was murdered behind a glass pane that obscured the details, and blood sprayed in all directions. This would be typical, but the blood exited the computer I was watching it on and sprayed on my face. I then spent the next minute trying to wipe the blood off my face.

Earlier this year, during the time period where I was watching the Teletoon season of Bravest Warriors, I dreamed that I was watching a non-existent episode of the show. I know that I saw the end of the first segment in the dream, but I don't remember anything about it. After the commercial break, the second segment began with a woman about to do some cooking. At first, she acted evil and ominous, but she acted normal not long after that.

This must have been one of those dreams where I find myself inside the episode I'm watching, because I experimented when I noticed that the food being prepared had the faces of the Bravest Warriors on them. The faces were small and mostly stationary, but when I tapped one of them, it would frown for a few seconds before going back to smiling. Unfortunately, I didn't see the rest of the episode, so I never found out how to get the Bravest Warriors out of that food.

This past summer, I dreamed that I was watching/interacting with an adaptation of The Railway Series. It was supposed to be adapting part of the Henry book, but he could somehow go inside buildings without tracks (I think) and he might have been misnamed. When he found a building with an archery club, he felt in danger or something like that.

Eventually, he helped someone (maybe the Fat Controller) get revenge on some people, and this was supposed to be the infamous "black as soot" scene. (At the time I dreamed this, I didn't even know that revenge was part of the actual story!) But all that happened was that the boys got brown mud all over their shoes and the bottoms of their pants. The dream (or at least this part of the dream) ended with me trying out archery, only to make pus come out of someone's neck.

So, in conclusion, "black as soot" my foot.

Are we human, or are we dancer?

Trigger announced a crossover between Brand New Animal and Kill la Kill.

And now, here's one of my classic nightmares, which I think I had in late 2006 or early 2007.

I dreamed that I was watching a Blue's Clues VHS in my bedroom, and it ended with a promo for home video releases of the show. One scene showed a frog leaving a footprint on the screen, just like Blue does, and the announcer said that the video with that clip would let you "leave a print of your favorite frog". In the dream, I knew that the episode with that clip was, in fact, the one I had just finished watching.

The promo ended with the announcer talking about a couple more videos as an instrumental of the Sesame Street theme played as background music. The first of the two clips that played during this music showed Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper dancing, presumably in the same way that they do in the closing credits, as the announcer said that that video was "where you get to dance the [I FORGET THE NAME] dance". I think the second clip had Steve and Blue, and maybe a few others, sitting at a table or counter, and the announcer gave a slightly longer description that I can't remember. The promo then faded to black, with the music getting cut off after the "Sunny day sweepin' the clouds away" notes.

The tape then showed the typical black screen at the end, but I didn't stop the tape like I would have done in real life at the time. I think I looked away from the screen for a few seconds, only to look back and see the part that made this a nightmare.

Suddenly, on my TV screen (probably in front of the same black background), there was Big Bird! His full body wasn't visible; he was shown in a way similar to his "Toodle-oo!" closing (of course!), and he was looking around in various directions. Right when he appeared (or, at least, right when I noticed him), he made a "Blblblbl!" noise which was taken directly from the Living Books game of Arthur's Teacher Trouble (in real life, I had only played the first page of the book via a demo). Somehow, I then saw my own face, like I was having an out-of-body experience, as I shouted something unintelligible with two syllables. Whatever I shouted was inspired by whatever Spunky the dog shouted before ducking under a big rig in Spunky's First Christmas. I think I then saw a vision of myself tossing and turning in my bed, which was inspired by a Deleted Scene from Curious George (2006). I then woke up, and I'm pretty sure I was thinking of Ted's reaction to his nightmare as I did so.

Another night later on, I dreamed I was watching (perhaps at my cousins' house) a VHS of Dragon, which had a theme song that was sung (inside a building, presumably Dragon's house) by the characters. I'm pretty sure that song featured the "Dragon's Special Day" song that's in a real episode. The dream ended as a nightmare when Big Bird appeared at the end of the tape in the same way that he did in the Blue's Clues dream, but without any audio.

Speaking of Blue's Clues, I once dreamt that my dog invented a guessing game similar to Blue's Clues, where she'd fetch three items, and we were meant to guess what she was thinking of based on the items.

I remember another Blue's Clues dream I had:

In the summer of 2005, while staying in a condo on a vacation in the mountains, I had a two-parted dream. The first part took place in that condo and had me watching a Teletubbies video where a house of mirrors had appeared in Teletubbyland. The second part of the dream took place at my grandparents' house in my home city, where I had apparently been playing Blue's Clues because Steve had just figured out the answer. I remember him saying, "…and call Taylor. We've just figured out Blue's Clues!" So then, I tried to phone the person mentioned by Steve, who is the daughter of my dad's friend, but I couldn't get a hold of her since I had phone troubles of some sort.

Are we human, or are we dancer?

An Atomic Betty episode where Sparky gets very sick (it's not mentioned what the illness is in the episode but it's heavily implied to be pneumonia) and Betty and X5 have to find a magic leaf that will cure him. Unfortunately, Maximus wants it for himself because the leaf is very valuable and will give him infinite power allowing him to conquer everyone in the galaxy.

And now I want this to be a real episode. I've become WAY too obsessed with this show lately.

Last night, I had a dream that some Mario game (I think it was Odyssey) got multiple new DLC packs where Mario traveled to the worlds of various non-Nintendo franchises.

The first one was Samurai Pizza Cats. I got to do the voice of The Big Cheese. Interestingly, in this version, they had him speak Gratuitous Japanese, both as a tribute to the original creators, and to give him a Wicked Cultured feel. (I don't speak Japanese, so I guess I had to read my lines phonetically.)

There were other DLC packs, and each one after the first had multiple works represented. In the second one, there was a The Nightmare Before Christmas world along with two or three others. In the third, there was a Corpse Bride world, again with two or three others.

I once dreamt there was an episode of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, in which the CMC were having a rivalry with three elderly mares who were also a unicorn, pegasus, and Earth pony who were doing the exact same job the CMC did and calling themselves the "Senior Cutie Mark Crusaders".

I once dreamt Andy was asleep in bed holding Woody then Andy farted and Woody started coughing.

You may have mixed it up with the scene from Toy Story 2 when Al belches in his sleep and Woody gags from his bad breath.

Last night, I dreamed that there was a Super Mario Bros. enemy called the Chargius. He looked like Frankenstein's monster, and he had Creepy Long Fingers. He would attack one of the Mario brothers by tickling them and then electrocuting them while they were laughing too hard to fight back. He was impervious to physical attacks, and his only weakness was his Absurd Phobia of cherries. The other brother would have to throw a cherry at him to scare him off and give the trapped brother a chance to escape.

Oh, I believe in yesterday

I dreamed my soul left my body, and I was in a random place. And everyone could see me, even though I was a soul(I was the only one who was a soul, by the way). I was interacting with people normally in that dream.

Never watched Naruto, but that face is definitely avatar-worthy.

I had a dream that I got spammed with notifiers over edits I made, all of which lacked edit reasons.

I dreamt a bunch of people slew a demon in the woods, one dug a hole and threw the dead demon in there, and then a goth woman dumped a packet of frozen peas onto it and said, "Rest in peas!" Even in the dream, I was wondering why she had those peas in the first place.
