Correct on the first account, at least my interpretation anyways. This trope is less about showing cleavage and more about the type of clothes they are wearing, hence the rename to focus on the clothing.
The second one I'm iffy about. It sounds correct, but I looked at her image on the character page and the opening doesn't extend to her navel, just about halfway down. Maybe a downplayed example I guess? IDK, I'd wait for another opinion or two.

Okay so I was looking over the trope page since I was going to have a crack at removing misuse on-page and possible problem.
The thread seems to have agreed that things like shirts that can be buttoned or unbuttoned don't count because that's not the intended cut of the clothing. However, the trope description has this little sentence at the bottom that implies a contradiction:
Should we make it clear that unbuttoned shirts do not count?

Funnily enough I was recently on Characters.Heavens Design Team and I gave the Mars example the benefit of the doubt. I suppose I'll delete it now.
The second paragraph in the description is talking about how things like unzipped catsuits count, no? At least that's how I've interpreted it. I don't see why unbuttoned tops wouldn't count either, as long as the visual of a navel deep neckline is achieved. Tropes Are Flexible and all.
