Porky's is a 1982 coming-of-age film about a group of horny teenagers in 1954 Florida. Extremely raunchy for its time, it set a precedent for other teen sex comedies and was the all-time highest-grossing Canadian movie for around 30 years.
Usually considered one of Bob Clark's best movies. It was also followed by two sequels, Porky's 2: The Next Day and Porky's Revenge, plus a 2009 spin-off, Porky's: Pimpin' Pee Wee.
Not to be confused with Porky Pig or Porky Minch.

- Actually Pretty Funny: When Ms. Balbricker is trying to convince the principal to let her "examine" the boys for an incriminating mole, the boys and coach are laughing their asses off in the background. And when it is suggested to bring in police sketch artists, even the principal is having trouble hanging on. Then a potential wanted poster is described as "this prick was last seen 'hanging' around the girls' locker room!", and even he completely loses it, and Ms. Balbricker angrily storms out while all the guys are helpless with laughter.
- All Men Are Perverts: Every guy in this movie except for a few older characters (like the elderly principal for example—and even he's Not So Above It All).
- All Women Are Lustful: Just like above, every girl in this movie is horny except Ms. Balbricker.
- Artifact Title: There is no mention at all of Porky or his bar in the second movie.
- As Long as It Sounds Foreign: The Swedish exchange student Inga in the third movie is played by a German model (Kimberly Evenson), who speaks with her own native accent.
- Badass Teacher: Ms. Balbricker doesn't take perverted boys very lightly, especially those spying on her students while they're taking a shower. Tommy finds this out the hard way (no pun intended). Balbricker is so obsessed over busting him that she goes so far as to try to pull Tommy's pants down in the presence of the police.
- Bad Cop/Incompetent Cop: The Sheriff of Wallace County and his deputies. They have no problem harassing the kids and busting up their car after getting kicked out of Porky's. It also doesn't help that the Sheriff and Porky are brothers.
- Berserk Button: Showing your privates through a peep hole while viewing the girls’ showers is a sure-fire way of getting Coach Balbricker to go after you.
- Bigger Is Better in Bed: Tommy is introducing all the boys (who are naked to be inspected for disease) to the prostitute Cherry Forever.Tommy: Cherry, this here is the pride of Angel Beach. Anthony Tuperelli, affectionately known as "Meat."Cherry Forever: My God, the boy's deformed!
- Butt-Monkey: Pee-Wee. He's the victim of every class practical joke and ends up naked in disgrace on the dais at the end of the third film.
- Deep South: Half the movie takes place in the swampy gator-ridden backwoods of Florida.
- Dream Intro: Porky's Revenge begins with Pee-Wee's dream/nightmare taking place at his upcoming high school graduation, where everyone is naked under their robes as a prank. His robe gets ripped off on the dais, exposing him to the whole graduating class.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Ms. Balbricker, in the third movie.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Ms. Balbricker is a nasty castrating character, but even she cannot side with the KKK.
- Fanservice:
- The shower room scene.
- The famous poster (illustrated above) is often listed among the sexiest film posters of all time. How much leg is shown by the anonymous model seemed to vary from region to region.
- Fat Bastard: Porky and his brother comes in second.
- Flynning: Justified in Porky's II, as it's a high school performance of the final fight scene from Macbeth. Taken to the next level when one of the prop swords breaks and they continue miming the fight until they get a "replacement" sword: A store window dummy's leg. Complete with fishnet stocking and a bright red high-heeled shoe.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: The boys from Angel Beach have clearly been friends their whole lives, and maybe there was a time when they actually enjoyed Pee Wee's company, but it's clear that by now they just tolerate him out of habit. They can still count on each other when the situation gets serious, though.
- Gonky Femme: The ugly, mannish female gym teacher Ms. Balbricker who had up to that point been an antagonist to the fellows, is revealed to have a soft feminine side when she thinks a man is in love (or at least lust) with her.
- Good Bad Girl: Wendy. Because all of her friends are boys, everyone assumes she's sleeping with them. Meanwhile all of the boys consider her one of the gang and none of them ever even consider trying to get in her pants, even when the plot revolves around convincing a woman to sleep with them.
- In The Next Day, Wendy reveals that her reputation as a slut came from being an innocent tomboy in eighth grade when some older boys tried to convince her to go Skinny Dipping with them. Wendy refused, but hung around and watched. The next day at school, everyone considered her a slut. Since her reputation was already ruined, she decided to do whatever she wanted and hang out with whoever she chose.
- Home Field Advantage: Porky is a king in his home county, where he's the richest man around and has control of the police via his brother, but the exact second he crosses the county line, he's powerless and has to take whatever the local police (who are themselves untouchable in their home jurisdiction) choose to dish out.
- The Immodest Orgasm: Ms. Honeywell's nickname is Lassie because during sex she howls loud enough to disrupt an entire gymnasium!
- In Name Only: An 80s sex comedy, Losin' It, was released as Porky's 3 in Brazil, despite having no connection to the series.
- Informed Judaism: Brian is a Jew, but (apart from being somewhat smarter than the other guys) does not show any of the stereotypical Jewish traits.
- Intimate Marks: Ms. Balbricker sees one of the boys' penises when he sticks it through a peephole in the girls' shower room. She says that she can identify the penis by a mole on it, and insists that the principal let her examine all the boys in order to find the culprit. The principal refuses.
- Jerkass Has a Point: The titular Porky is undoubtedly the main villain of the film for throwing the boys out of his club, but he's also right in doing so because they're underage. He even explains outright to them that he can lose his liquor license (a practical death sentence for an adult establishment like his) if the boys are caught in his club.
- He would have been right to kick them out for being underage, but he wasn't right to dunk them in the swamp. He seemed to have done that because Tommy offended him. His door guard didn't seem to mind letting them in with Pee Wee's obviously wrong ID.
- In addition to humiliating them unnecessarily, he also takes their money and, when one of them tries to get it back, beats him into the hospital (rather than, say, having the police that he controls haul them away).
- Jewish Smartass: Brian Schwartz ends up on the receiving end of a lot of anti-Semitic antagonism and stereotypes; he usually responds by mouthing off, notably correcting a boy who called him a "kite" by explaining that the word he was looking for was "kike" before proceeding to tell him he was too stupid to be a good bigot.
- Large and in Charge: Porky.
- Literally Laughable Question: When Coach Balbricker claims that she can identify a certain penis which had been poked through a peephole to the girls' locker room (it has a mole) and demands that she be allowed to examine the suspects' penises, the principal and school administration try to keep from laughing, not always succeeding, as they deny her request.
- Lust Makes You Dumb: An Exploited Trope in the opening act, where a handful of horny teen boys visit the raunchy establishment specifically to get laid. They get "inspected" by the madam, and are told to strip naked, then wait in a darkened room for hot, lustful babes to service them. The fools do this, only to fall through a Trap Door floor and end up dunked in the muddy bayou.
- Meaningful Name:
- Or nickname. In this case, "Pee-Wee" the short, tiny little dork with a tiny... uh... dork. "Meat" the big, tall, handsome muscular lug with a huge schlong.
- Ms. Balbricker.
- Cherry Forever. The boys think they're going to lose their virginity with her, but they're being set up for a practical joke - they're going to end the evening with their 'cherry' still in place.
- Mr. Fanservice: Admirers of male skin get buff, good-looking Meat completely nude during the prostitution prank scene. Although there's plenty of male nudity, Meat is most likely who you're going to be looking at.
- My God, What Have I Done?: In Porky's Revenge after playing a prank on Ms. Balbricker in making her think she's reuniting with her old boyfriend, Wendy sees how devastated she is and decides to actually reunite the two.
- And this ends up saving the gang when principal Carter seems to be gearing up to expel them, and Balbricker - in a substantially better mood than usual - argues for leniency.
- The Oner: Over four unbroken minutes pass from the principal's shocked expression through Balbricker's request and the final zoom to the portrait of Eisenhower.
- Pervert Alliance: The famous shower room scene shows the guys cutting a hole into the wall of the gym shower to spy on the girls, but get a surprise when Ms. Balbricker comes in.
- Platonic Prostitution: Cherry Forever (that's her professional name) doesn't get paid to have sex, but to help out with a prank.
- Precision F-Strike: When the leader of the hyper-conservative church group demands the principal of Angel Beach High capitulate to his demands that a performance of Shakespeare not be allowed, the principal takes their battle cry ("So sayeth the Shepard!" "SO SAYETH THE FLOCK!") and weaponizes it with this trope ("Get the Flock out of here!").
- Quote-to-Quote Combat: In Porky's II, the school Shakespeare production is being shut down by a group of hyper-conservative religious nuts who think Shakespeare is immoral. They quote out of context dirty Shakespeare passages (of which there are many) to support their cause. But the school principal, who supports the show, goes quote-for-quote against them using The Bible as his source of smutty sayings. Toward the end, while the reverend flips through Shakespeare seeking more ammunition, the principal is quoting chapter and verse of equivalent Scripture
without opening the Bible. - Scary Black Man: Subverted, he's only scary in the context of a prank, in reality, he cracks up and has a good time alongside the boys.
- Sequel Non-Entity:
- Porky himself doesn't appear in the second film, but returns for the third film.
- Tim Cavanaugh and Mickey Jarvis are absent from the third film.
- Sex as Rite-of-Passage: The plot revolves around the guys trying to get Edward "Pee-Wee" Morris Laid.
- Shout-Out: Before dropping them in the drink, Porky promises the boys “A Night to Remember.”
- Teeny Weenie: Where Meat got the bigger end of the spectrum, there's no secret what Pee Wee's main problem is. Even the prostitute they hire can't help but crack jokes at his expense.
- This Cannot Be!: The head gym teacher hears screaming that sounds like Miss Honeywell. To which the he remarks in disbelief that "it can't be, I fired them." It isn't, it's Miss Balbricker who crashes through the door screaming.
- Trash the Set: After Mickey is beaten by Porky, to the point where he has to be hospitalized. The Gang take revenge by tearing down Porky's bar in a well-planned, spectacular wreck.
- Tricked into Another Jurisdiction: At the end of the first movie, Porky and his sheriff brother chase the boys across the county line, where the local police are waiting. They then give Porky and his brother a taste of their own medicine.
- Troubled Sympathetic Bigot: Tim Cavanaugh, who eventually stands up to the abusive father who warped him this way.
- Villainous Breakdown: Porky is understandably devastated when his bar is destroyed. You almost pity him when he stumbles out of the ruins saying "Porky's is gone". Then he becomes genuinely scary as he pursues the boys. He was already a violent man, but this time, when he says "I'll kill 'em", you know he's not exaggerating. If he catches them, he will actually murder them.
- What Happened to the Mouse?:
- In Porky's II, the boys hire a showgirl to play a prank on Pee Wee. At the conclusion of the prank, everyone flees the scene, but she's unaccounted for.
- In Porky's Revenge, Mickey and Tim are nowhere to be seen.
- Wrong Bathroom Incident: The raunchy teen boys exploit the service crawlspaces in the gymnasium to get behind a wall in the girls' shower room. One of the fixtures is missing (presumably removed for repairs), leaving holes in the wall through which the boys ogle the naked girls.
- Wrong Insult Offence: A bigoted high schooler taunts a Jewish classmate by talking about "wanting to go fly a kite." The Jewish kid calmly explains that the word he's looking for is "kike."
