Emblem of the Tozitend

The tyrannical overlords of the alternate world of Kikaitopia, who have silently and swiftly conquered various realities throughout the multiverse — including the first 44 Super Sentai worlds — via sealing them within Toziru Gears. However, a glitch occurred in sealing the very last World, the Zenkaigers’ World, resulting in part of Kikaitopia merging with it, thus forcing them to manually and physically conquer the merged World instead to expand their territory.

    General Tropes
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: They are described as “Kikaitopia’s ruling class” and have no sympathy towards humans; even their own race is not spared from their cruelty.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist:
    • The previous villains, the Yodonheim, used organic monsters and weren’t shown to be very technologically advanced, wielding magic instead. The Tozitend are a group of technological beings who, naturally, use advanced technology as a means of conquest. The Yodenheim generals were more than capable of working together towards a common goal, while the Tozitend’s highly individualistic methods lead them to be at odds with each other.
    • The previous Sentai anniversary villains, the Space Empire Zangyack, were also technologically-advanced conquerors from space, but were defeated by all of the previous Sentai teams and returned to Earth years later for revenge. The Tozitend actually succeeded in subduing the worlds of the previous Sentai teams, only resorting to the old-fashioned way of invasion when something prevented them from just sealing the Zenkaigers’ world.
  • Dark Is Evil: They’re generally represented with dark colors and are the villains of the story.
  • Fantastic Racism: They are disdainful towards humans in general, which extends towards Half-Human Hybrids such as Stacy.
  • Lack of Empathy: The dynasty doesn't give a crap about anyone else, even those of their own (be they their own species or even their own troops). The only one aside from Stacy to show any kind of empathy is Boccowaus, and even then it's exclusively focused on a single individual.
  • Meaningful Name: “Tozitend" is a Portmanteau of “tojiru” (閉じる, “to close/lock up”), and “tendō” (天堂, “heaven/paradise/utopia”).
  • Mechanical Lifeforms: They’re evil robots out to dominate the multiverse.
  • Multiversal Conqueror: They’re out to conquer the Super Sentai multiverse, and have already imprisoned 44 Sentai worlds, and many other worlds along the way, in Toziru Gears, with only the Zenkaigers’ world remaining.
  • Robots Enslaving Robots: They rule over Kikaitopia, and are shown to oppress the Kikainoids living there.
  • Serial Escalation: The villains of the last big Crossover season, the Zangyack Empire, were Galactic Conquerors who had already subjugated most of the universe before coming to Earth, but were thwarted by the Super Sentai. The Tozitend are Multiverse conquerors who’ve already taken over many universes, including the Super Sentai’s, before coming to the world of the Zenkaigers.
  • Spanner in the Works: A malfunction caused by an unknown force prevented the Zenkaigers’ Earth from being sealed, while merging a part of Kikaitopia with it, which was why the Tozitend had to resort to pulling an all-out practical invasion of that Earth instead. A theory presented by the Creator in the finale suggests the presence of Sentai Gears in that world cancelled out the Toziru Gear system, due to them being essentially the same technology as Ijirude ripped off the Goshikida professors' work.
  • Standard Evil Empire Hierarchy: They form a pretty standard one:
    • The Emperor: Great King Boccowaus, the leader of the Tozitend who rules Kikaitopia with an iron fist.
    • The Right Hand: Gege, Boccowaus’ pet who holds a good amount of influence in the Tozitend.
    • The General: Mobile Commander Barashitara, as he is the one holding down most of the fight against the Zenkaigers.
    • The Guards: The Walds, though instead of guarding the Tozitend’s captured worlds they literally become them.
    • The Oddball: Mechanical Officer Ijirude, the Evil Genius of the Tozitend.
    • The Evil Counterparts: Stacy and Hakaizer, who serve as the Tozitend’s enforcers.
    • The Man Behind the Man: The Creator of Worlds
  • Thinking Up Portals: How the Tozitend generals travel to and from the palace, though wholly human bodies are unable to create or enter them.

Leadership

    Great King Boccowaus

Portrayed by: Joji Nakata (voice), Shinsuke Kusano (suit, episode 48)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boccowaus.jpg
Click here to see his final form

The leader of the Tozitend and king of Kikaitopia. He rules his empire with an iron fist (literally), needing no more than sheer presence and notoriety to command his minions. His goal is to bring all of the worlds under his empire.

  • Achilles' Heel: He's vulnerable to attacks aimed at his back. This proves to be a non-issue for most of the series, as he spends it being a largely immobile wall within the Tozitend palace. Of course, after he ascends to his combat form, nothing really stops the Zenkaigers from exploiting it.
  • All Your Powers Combined: After absorbing all the remaining Toziru gears and changing into his combat form, he can change the environment around him into whatever he wants and use the abilities of all previous Sentai. He first changes the battle setting to a mountain and defeats each of the five core Zenkaigers one at a time by using the special attack of the Sentai that each of them is based on. He ends up losing because the worlds he absorbed rebel and strip him of his Sentai powers while giving a boost to the Zenkaigers. As it happens, this is also nature of his family, as each former ruler's body is integrated and assimilated into their successor.
  • Big Bad: The leader of the Tozitend and the main threat to the Zenkaigers. Or so it seems, turns out he's been a pawn of the Creator all along, and he's killed before the Creator is even fought, with his death doing nothing to hinder the entity's goals.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: He’s a giant Kikainoid who for some reason is melded into an equally giant wall with only one free-moving right arm, and has a giant hole on his left that’s of the right size for Gege to perch on. It turns out his true form is more humanoid but tiny, dwarfed by even Secchan's default form, and the wall form is a mass of upgrades formed from the corpses of all the Tozitend kings who came before him.
  • Catchphrase: “What is the meaning of THIS?!(slams fist)
  • Character Tics: Whenever he’s angry, he slams his fist onto the ground, causing everyone else on the ground to bounce around due to his immense size and strength.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist:
    • Emperor Yodon was a Shadow Dictator for most of Kiramager, who only made his full appearance in the final arc. Boccowaus is there from the start of the series and his presence is clearly visible. Yodon was a cruel dictator that clearly cared for nobody (including his own allies), while Boccowaus has a soft spot for Gege.
    • Like Ginis, he’s an alien threat in an anniversary season whose actions have affected many worlds and sees Earth as nothing but the next world to take on, while being Orcus on His Throne. Unlike Boccowaus, Ginis was a sadist who committed genocide and destroyed planets for his own amusement, whereas Boccowaus is only an autocrat and conqueror. Additionally, Ginis was a complete sociopath with a Lack of Empathy even for his underlings, whereas Boccowaus at least cares for Gege.
    • Emperor Akudos Gill was a true-to-form Evil Overlord like Boccowaus, but only gave orders far away from the his underlings and didn’t make an actual appearance right until the final arc of his series, unlike Boccowaus, who gives his orders straight in front of his generals from day one.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Whenever Gege gets his attention, he starts fawning over how cute he is.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: His defeat neither means the end of the Tozitend's threat or the show, as the Creator (the true villain of the show) takes over as soon as he's beaten.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He’s genuinely fond of Gege, to the point where he allows him to circumvent the entire chain of command and suggest things to him personally.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Mostly Played for Laughs when Barashitara decides to send out Gomi Wald. He doesn’t care how many people are killed to take over Earth, but he refuses to conquer a planet covered in garbage.
  • Evil Counterpart: His final form is one to the Zenkaigers; like them, he can wield the powers of past Sentai teams, their weapons included, but he uses them for evil purposes rather than for good.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: He’s got quite the deep, nearly growly voice on him, courtesy of Joji Nakata.
  • Glass Cannon: His true form. He can use the Zenkaiger's powers but better in the form of summoning and spamming their finishing attacks, but goes down with one solid enough hit to the back. On top of that, he loses his Sentai powers when they start resisting him from within the Tojirgears
  • Large and in Charge: He’s gigantic to say the least, towering over his immediate lieutenants, and the king of the Tozitend.
  • Last Words: Upon his final defeat:
    "Our dynasty... My world...!!"
  • Meaningful Name: His name is derived from “Bukkowasu” (ぶっ壊す) or “to wreck” in Japanese.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Back in the Showa Era, Super Sentai (And other Tokusatsu shows) used to cover up the Big Bad by having them communicate via a wall. Boccowaus is a Call-Back to this old trend, with the twist being that he is the wall.
    • His name is evocative of Emperor Bacchus Wrath, who was also a robotic tyrant ruling a machine empire.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: He’s a massive head stuck on a wall. The main villain in this size and style is a rarity in the franchise, one would recall Messiah or Meadow on the presentation.
  • One-Winged Angel: In #48, he absorbs the Toziru Gears to assume his final form to fight the Zenkaigers.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Somewhat justified in that he’s little more than a head and arm stuck on a wall. Still, it takes him until #48 to do anything other than pound his fist and shout at his subordinates.
  • Unwitting Pawn: All but stated to have been one to the Creator all along, the entity had been possessing Gege and using the bird as its body to manipulate and control the Tozitend, and when Boccowaus dies, the Creator takes over Tozitend's gears for its own ends.
  • Villainous Lineage: It has been mentioned he came from a lineage of Evil Overlords who have been ruling Kikaitopia for centuries.

Generals

    Mobile Commander Barashitara

Portrayed by: Kenji Nomura (voice), Riichi Seike (suit)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barashitara.jpg

The field captain of the Tozitend. Due to his strength, he’s the most active one in the field, enjoying the exhilaration that comes with invading worlds and crushing his enemies into scrap. Despite his overwhelming power, he’s rather mischievous when fighting the Zenkaigers.

  • Abusive Parents: He gives not one whit about Stacy, having no problem with Ijirude experimenting on him and only paying attention to his fights due to his brutish ways. And according to Stacy, his mother is dead thanks to him.
  • Archnemesis Dad: Unlike most instances of this in Super Sentai, it's between two on the side of the villains; Stacy makes it very clear that he holds Barashitara under severe contempt.
  • Brains and Brawn: The ruthless, powerful Brawn to Ijirude’s calculating Brain.
  • The Bluebeard: The man forces other women into marriages with him before killing them off in short order. Any children from these marriages are also slaughtered should come back for revenge.
  • The Brute: He’s the one who spearheads the Tozitend’s invasions and is very physically strong, able to send Kaito flying with just one blow.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday:
    • He forgot that Stacy exists and is the son of his 893rd wife until reminded.
    • As shown in #48, he's also dismissive of the lives he's taken:
Barashitara: (To Stacy) You're not the only one who's come after me to avenge their mother! And I made short work of everyone who's tried!
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Galza had a shaky relationship with his brother before betraying him, but it was eventually revealed to be because of Emperor Yodon's interference, and after finding out, ultimately regretted what he had done to his family. Barashitara has no real connection to his family, and barely even acknowledges his son Stacy's existence.
  • Chest of Medals: Chest and shoulders of medals to be precise.
  • The Dragon: The Tozitend’s field captain and the main one advancing the attack against the Zenkaigers.
  • Foil: To Isao Goshikida; Isao was a kind and loving father and husband who worked for the good of the world and was forced into Tojitendo servitude against his will. Barashitara is not only a loyal servant, but he is an absolutely pathetic excuse for a parent and spouse, routinely killing his many wives and any of the resulting children should they come for revenge.
  • Foreshadowing: He comments that “humans truly are light creatures” after flinging Kaito away in the first episode. It turns out he did have experiences with humans, a number of them being one of his at least 893 previous wives.
  • General Failure: A cruel, petty, Stupid Evil Bad Boss, whose inability to see past his own self importance directly costs the invasion force at least two victories and caused an unknown number of other screw ups. It doesn't help he has a very little patience, carries a rocket launcher everywhere and both his superiors and underlings indulge him, be it voluntarily or not.
  • Hot Blooded Sideburns: The gears protruding near both sides of his face invoke this effect.
  • It Amused Me: His only reason for getting involved in fights or observing them is to produce an amusing enough battle that will satisfy him. He even gives the Zenkaigers their due credit whenever they put up a good fight.
  • Karmic Death: Offed many of his previous wives (with their offspring unsuccessfully trying to avenge their deaths), and eventually perished at the hands of his current son, who deemed him responsible for the demise of his mom (Lise), though said son had some help from a pirate and his siblings.
  • Last Words: Before he's wiped out by Twokaizer and Stacaesar's combined cannon attack:
"I can't possibly... be beaten by the likes of them!!"
  • Meaningful Name: His name is derived from “Barashitara” (ばらしたら) in Japanese, which means “if disassembled.”
  • Noodle Incident: Episode 48 has him state that Stacy wasn't his only offspring who sought revenge against him killing their mother, though he made short work of them all.
  • Really Gets Around: Episode 8 reveals that he has had at least 893 wives, Stacy’s mother Lise being one of them.
  • Verbal Tic: The formal copula “dearu,” meaning “to be.”
  • Walking Tank: Is tank-themed yet walks around on two legs, in contrast to his fellow general Ijirude (who actually does move using treads).
  • Workaholic: Episode 24 establishes that he is one, being perfectly willing to destroy Vacance Wald to put his vacationing soldiers back into work despite that Wald’s powers actually being successful in taking over the Earth.

    Mechanical Officer Ijirude

Portrayed by: Masanori Takeda (voice), Hiroyuki Muraoka (suit)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ijilude.jpg

The mechanic and scientist of the Tozitend. He looks fairly reserved, but he’s actually the most zealous of the empire. It is said that he took the skills of a certain pair of scientists and perfected them for himself.

  • Brains and Brawn: The science-oriented Brain to Barashitara’s ruthless Brawn.
  • Cassandra Truth: He got Stacy punished for the downfall of HaKaijūOh. While it was mainly to save his own skin, Stacy did purposefully give the Zenkaigers the advantage they needed to save Isao. Stacy also accidentally confessed to the deed after Ijirude's accusations claimed he did so under Barashitara's orders, his hatred of his father overriding his instinct to stay silent.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Even though Carantula was the primary creator of the Jamenshi, he had a passion for creation and eventually betrayed Yodonheim because he had come to value the idea of art being used to make people happy instead of for conquest. A majority of Ijirude's "inventions" (the Toziru Gears, the Geartozinger, the Dark Sentai Gears, and Hakaizer) were copies of technology created by the Goshikidas, and even found out about the Great Walds completely by accident after seeing a Kudaitest absorb a Toziru Gear, while Carantula created the Jamen Beasts by himself.
  • Evil Genius: He’s the man behind the Tozitend’s technology and monsters.
  • Evil Knockoff: Episode 30 reveals that he built the Hakaizer armor from the blueprints of the prototype Zenkaiger that he stole from the Goshikidas.
    • It also turns out he stole the basis of the Goshikida Professors' Sentai Gear technology to create most of the Tozitend's technology, including his own Evil Counterparts, the Toziru Gears, and later the Dark Sentai Gears.
  • Foreshadowing: A number of hints are dropped towards the fact that he knows the Goshikida professors. Come episodes 23 and 26, it is confirmed that he did indeed abduct them, storing their physical bodies in stasis.
    • He is caught off-guard by Kaito claiming that his parents invented the Sentai Gears, hinting he might have known them, before brushing it off and proclaiming that he coincidentally came up with the Tozitend’s Toziru Gears.
    • It was noted that he managed to invent the Evil Knockoff Geartozinger and the Dark Sentai Gears to counter the Zenkaigers’ own equipment in a surprisingly short amount of time. It makes sense considering he stole and based his Toziru Gears off the Goshikidas’ Gear technology to begin with.
    • Learning of the World Pirates’ reappearance, Boccowaus and him raised an incident related to their previous encounter with them, only known as Ijirude’s “previous failure.”
  • High-Class Glass: Wears a monocle over one eye, and is one of the top Tozitend officers.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: His habit of stealing and building the Goshikida professors’ tech while calling them his own comes back to bite him in the ass when he eventually built the Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon (dubbed the Full-Power Destruction Gunnote  after Hakaizer, another stolen work) as per its original specs without checking through all of its functions. It ends up being taken back by the Zenkaigers and becomes the strongest addition to their arsenal yet, with a surprise All Your Powers Combined Humongous Mecha mode included.
Ijirude: Wh… what!? It has a function like that?!
  • Laser-Guided Karma: While he didn't kill anyone (at least, not while we see him), he still put the Goshikidas and their friends through the wringer, from plagiarizing the Goshikidas' tech, to capturing the original inventors to brainwashing Isao into working for the Tozitend. Fittingly, he faces a series of losses and eventually his demise at the hands of the Zenkaigers, all of whom were armed with the tech he copied from the Goshikidas.
  • Last Words: Upon the Zenkaigers destroying IjiruDestroyer IV in #47:
  • Light Is Not Good: He’s primarily white, but he’s the Evil Genius of the Tozitend.
  • Logical Weakness: Ijirude's non-conventional body means that in the event he falls onto his side, he cannot right himself without assistance.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is derived from “Ijiru” (いじる), which means “to tinker” in Japanese.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: His upper half of his body is fully mobile, but the bottom half of his body resembles a tank.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Averted; Despite having purple as a secondary color, Ijirude's only real power is that of his rank as a top general. In physical combat he's pathetically weak (he got his ass whupped by a middle-aged woman with no combat ability, and she wasn't even trying to fight).
  • Stealing the Credit: Most of his technology produced for the Tozitend turned out to originally belong to the Goshikida Professors; He tends to make Evil Knockoffs of their tech or even outright create them as per their original designs and call it his work. The only thing shown so far that he did invent himself was an inter-dimensional transport gate, which was how he discovered the Goshikidas to begin with.
  • Tank-Tread Mecha: He moves by wheeling around on his tank-like lower body.

    Gege

Portrayed by: Tatsuhisa Suzuki (voice, episodes 1-21), Masaya Fukunishi (voice, episodes 25-48)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gege.jpg

A robotic toucan that sits on Boccowaus’ shoulder. While he looks innocent, he’s actually the most capable member, using his position and the tyrant’s doting to enact his own plans with his silver tongue.

  • Aborted Arc: There were minor moments of characters lampshading how similar he looks to Setchan, suggesting he may have been originally one of Setchan's Flawed Prototype, but nothing about this was addressed in the end.
  • Almighty Janitor: He’s technically just the Team Pet to Boccowaus, but because his owner is the ruler of the regime, he wields quite a bit of clout in Kikaitopia.
  • Catchphrase: One that Boccowaus always responds to.
    Gege: Calm down, Boccowaus.
    Boccowaus: But, y’know, Gege…
  • Evil Counterpart: To Setchan, being a purple bird robot that assists the Tozitend. Their bodies are designed quite similarly as well.
  • Evil Laugh: Gives a nasty, hearty one at the end of #16 after stating that he knows Stacy’s secret.
  • First-Name Basis: He is the only one to never refer to Boccowaus by any sort of title or honorific, just using his given name. It’s a level of familiarity that’s unthinkable between a minion and the Big Bad no matter where the show is produced, but in Japan, where honorifics are part of everyday life and going totally honorific-less is a level of familiarity you might not even have with your best friend, it’s pretty jaw-dropping. It just goes to show the immense sway this supposed “pet” has with the boss.
  • Foreshadowing: When the Tozitend’s Standard Evil Empire Hierarchy was introduced, he wasn’t included for some reason. As it turns out, he was merely a puppet for the Creator of Worlds all this time.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: It's hinted that he has his own plans separate from Boccowaus’, such as rescuing Stacy in episode 23 and helping Kaito!Stacy escape the Tozitend Palace in #32. #42 actually has him possess Stacy in order to further his own plans. And then it turns out that that wasn't even Gege, but the Creator all along.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Despite being a pet, he’s doing most of the actual commanding instead of Boccowaus, who mostly only vents to his generals about their failures. However, that's only because the Creator of Worlds has been puppeteering him and manipulated Boccowaus himself. Gege is not shown to be anything more than a loyal servant of Boccowaus when unpossessed and what his actual intellect and competence within Tozitend would be is unknown.
  • Impersonation-Exclusive Character: #44-#45 reveal that the Gege we’ve seen throughout the series was the Creator possessing and impersonating him.
  • Large and in Charge: He’s to scale with his master and commands considerable sway within the Tozitend, due to his status as Boccowaus’ pet.
  • Last Words: As himself, before being possessed for the last time and subsequently killed by Boccowaus:
Gege: I will protect you, Boccowaus!
  • Morality Pet: Boccowaus is never seen trying to hurt him when he’s in a bad mood with the other generals or scolds him for intervening in his briefings. In fact, Gege actually calms him down when he starts banging the floor and knocking over his generals.
  • Number Two: He serves as Boccowaus’ assistant.
  • Purple Is Powerful: While much of his power comes from that of his rank, unlike Ijirude, who holds a similar situation, Gege is actually a capable fighter, battling an enlarged Secchan to a standstill before the God took over.
  • Team Pet: He’s Boccowaus’ personal pet.
  • Unwitting Pawn: He was really a host of the Creator, as #44-#45 reveal.
  • Vocal Evolution: His voice is suddenly deeper and gruffer in Episode 25, due to the change in voice actors. This gets subverted later on as Gege's voice becomes much closer to his original tone.
  • The Voiceless: Made as such during the period of episodes 22 to 24, due to his first voice actor’s sudden retirement from the role; it’s implied he still communicates normally during that time but his speech is largely kept offscreen.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: He’s the one who suggested the Tozitend perform an all-out invasion instead of simply sealing Earth into a Toziru Gear as they did with all the rest of the other worlds, due to Where's the Fun in That?, and the fact that Earth is the last world to take over but there were difficulties sealing it for an unknown reason.

    Stacy/Stacaesar

Portrayed by: Ryo Sekoguchi (live), Hajime Kanzaki (suit)
Young Stacy Portrayed by: Ibuki Sugo

The “Demon Prince” of the Tozitend, and Barashitara’s half-human son. Despite working with the Tozitend, he doesn’t care about the cause and merely fights for his own goals, eventually forming a rivalry with Kaito and Zocks.

Tropes that apply to him in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stacey_zenkaiger.jpg
The Dark Power… Stacaesar!
  • 11th-Hour Ranger: He defects from the Tozitend and joins the Zenkaigers in #47.
  • A Taste of Power: His debut as Stacaesar turned out to be this for him. His reckless overuse of his Dark Sentai Gears led to the Geartozinger running out of power too fast, which then leads to him being less reliant on the Dark Sentai Gears in ensuing battles.
  • Aloof Ally: Towards the Tozitend. Despite working with them for years, Stacy prefers to focus on his own goal and doesn't get along well with their plans. The only member of Tozitend he gets along with and considers his friend is Hakaizer.
  • Ambiguously Evil: While he doesn't care much about the Tozitend's plans, preferring to focus on surpassing his father Barashitara as a general and defeating his enemies, he comes to care for Yatsude, who reminds him of his mother's kindness. By the middle of the series, he's constantly divided as to whether he wants to defeat Kaito and the Zenkaigers, leaving it ambiguous as to whether he'll honestly defect. In #47, he ultimately makes up his mind and joins the Zenkaigers.
  • Anti-Villain: He is hell-bent on defeating Kaito and the Zenkaigers, but he’s the only Tozitend member with any sympathetic and redeemable qualities. He’s also the only member that’s not too keen on taking over the world.
  • Butt-Monkey: Strives to gain recognition and reputable place in the empire's ranks, but the universe probably hates him. When he actually manages to achieve something noteworthy, someone (like Ijirude) will snag it away from him anyway.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Being an Anti-Villain who made a Heel–Face Turn later on compared to his spiritual predecessors, so it's justified:
    • Like Yodonna before him, Stacy is his faction’s Token Human who uses an Evil Knockoff version of the team’s Transformation Trinket; Yodonna’s Yodon Changer was based off the team's sixth ranger changer, Kiramai Silver’s Shiny Kiramai Changer, while the Geartozinger is a redeco of the Geartlinger, which belongs to the core Zenkaigers. Yodonna was Emperor Yodon’s personal assistant who was unaware that she was a Split Personality of the Emperor, while Stacy is the half-human son of Tozitend general Barashitara.
    • Both Basco ta Jolokia and Stacy serve as their respective shows’ Enemy Summoner. Unlike Basco, who was only limited to summoning Sixth Ranger and Extra Ranger Key clones with his Rapparatta (though at one point he was able to generate copies of the Gokaigers), Stacy is able to summon an entire team of Rangers — including their Humongous Mechas to boot — using the Dark Sentai Gears. Basco was vain and flamboyant in contrast to Stacy’s more subdued demeanor. While Basco was out for himself and was only employed by the Zangyack to do their dirty work for them, only for him to eventually betray them, Stacy is the Tozitend’s “Demon Prince.” Basco assumed his own monster form late in his series, whereas Stacy transforms into an evil Ranger called Stacaesar.
  • Chuunibyou: His mannerisms and way of talking practically has that air. Even the text on his background after transforming is his name… in kanji!Click here if you’re curious
  • The Comically Serious: His serious attitude contrasts with the others’ comical shenanigans, especially when it comes to hanging out with Yatsude or doing stuff like backflips owing to his personality.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His mother, Lise, supposedly died at Barashitara’s hands, while the latter completely abandoned him as his son.
  • Dark Is Evil: Is on the villains’ side, and is clad predominantly in black. His robot also sports black as part of its color scheme.
  • Enemy Summoner: Using his Dark Sentai Gears, he can summon entire Sentai teams and/or their mecha to fight the Zenkaigers.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: He deeply misses his mother and holds a very deep grudge towards Barashitara for her supposed death. It’s because of this that he starts to form a soft spot for Yatsude as she reminds him of his late mother.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: He is utterly confounded by Kaito not resenting his missing parents and refusing to believe that they abandoned him.
  • Evil Counterpart: To the Zenkaigers as a whole; while the Gears the Zenkaigers use can only grant them the powers of other Sentai, the Dark Sentai Gears allow Stacy to summon the aforementioned Sentai and their Mechas (or their copies, at least).
  • Evil Sounds Deep: The Geartozinger has a much deeper and more electronic voice than its heroic counterpart.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: He wears his hair in a ponytail now after the final battle.
  • Foil: To Kaito/Zenkaizer, with his actor even stating that he portrayed Stacy as “like Kaito, but with shades of being chuuni.” Both of them are the Token Human (or at least outwardly human) of their respective sides, but while Kaito is an energetic and optimistic Nice Guy who’s not too bright at times, Stacy is a calm and cynical soldier who’s working for his own interests.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Certain scenes after his reveal as a human-Kikainoid hybrid shows that his ear actually fades to a silver color at the edges, alluding to his mechanical half.
  • Gender-Blender Name: "Stacy" is traditionally a feminine name, though it has been used occasionally for men.
  • Grand Theft Me: Gets possessed by the Creator of Worlds at the end of #42.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He envies Kaito's bonds with his family and comrades, himself having an abusive father, a deceased mother, and an overall lonely life in the Tozitend.
  • Half-Breed Discrimination: Is implied to suffer from this in episode #32; when Kaito!Stacy attempts to pull rank on a Kudaiter guard, the latter responds by mocking him and shoving him to the ground.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Episodes #7 and #8 reveal that he’s half-human; specifically, he’s the son of Barashitara and a human woman named Lise, who was the latter’s 893rd wife.
  • Hidden Depths: #28 reveals that he is incredibly skilled at tennis, thanks to playing with his mother as a child.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: He puts up a grumpy façade but inside he desperately wants companionship. It's how he develops a liking for Hakaizer and ultimately becomes his goal to be an obstacle for Kaito, who has everything.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: Upon his debut, many debated whether his name is spelt in English with an ‘e’ (Stacy/Stacey). The TV-Nihon fansubs additionally names him "Stacee". An official poster later confirms it as "Stacy".
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Although he aids the Tozitend's plans of invading Kaito's world, he does his best to Be as Unhelpful as Possible while still remaining enough of a useful asset to avoid getting scrapped. Any attempts at villainous plans from his side tend to be quite naive and easily outmanuvered. On the top of that, neither side gives him a shred of respect. His superiors trample over him on daily basis and the Zenkaigers know he has more issues than National Geographic, many of which can be chalked up to being lonely and miserable.
    • Despite trying (and nearly succeeding) at killing Kaito at many different times, he only becomes a true threat to the team when he intentionally keeps Hakaizer under the Tozitend's control to have at least a single friend with despite knowing that doing so means depriving Kaito of reuniting with his father.
  • I Work Alone: As a part of his Mr. Tough guy act. He is not an Ineffectual Loner by any means, but Hakaizer still needed some time to convince him they would be more effective as a team.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Heavily Played With. When he first debuted in battle, he gave the Zenkaigers a hard time and rose the stakes, making him look like he'll cause the story to darken in tone... until Zocks Goldtsuiker came along and trounced him. That being said, he's baffled by Kaito's optimism which contrast with his grim characteristics, causing him to engage Kaito in a bitter rivalry which has only drama and tension (though it quickly returns to being funny after all that) and he's the most dead set on defeating the Zenkaigers, giving them a reason to fear him from his sheer combat prowess and Ranger gear to his new robots and future major upgrades to his Ranger form. Also, his seriousness in doing non-serious things such as backflips makes him rather hilarious, and the fact that he's a Chuunibyou only makes his less serious actions funnier. To complicate things further, he's shown to have sympathetic qualities unlike he colleagues and especially his dad, and he slowly grows out of this when he begins helping the Zenkaigers from time to time, eventually throwing this trope out the window when he patches things up with Yatsude and joins Kaito's team as their 11th-Hour Ranger.
  • Leitmotif: A melancholic whistling tune.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Aside from the obvious (Stacy looks completely human while Barashitara is most certainly not), Stacy is an aloof individual who doesn’t really care about the Tozitend’s cause, only fighting on their side for his own goals. On the other hand, Barashitara is a hotheaded zealot who will stop at nothing to ensure the Tozitend’s cause is fulfilled.
  • Line-of-Sight Alias: He takes Satoshi as his alias to Yatsude, from the latter’s mondegreen of his name.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He’s pretty easy on the eyes and has medium length hair.
  • Luke, You Are My Father: He reveals himself to be Barashitara’s son at the end of Episode 6.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: In #38, after being nearly killed by his mother's ghost — who was brainwashed by Bon Wald under Barashitara's orders, he comes to the realization that by trying to keep Hakaizer/Isao by his side, he is inflicting the very same pain on Kaito.
  • Necessary Drawback: In his first appearance, he averts Why Don't You Just Shoot Him? and abuses his Geartozinger to summon past Sentai and mecha en masse to overwhelm the Zenkaigers. However, it’s soon revealed that using the Geartozinger this way quickly exhausts its energy, which he finds out when his army of mecha disappear before they can finish the heroes off.
  • Nothing Personal: Tells Kaito as such in his introductory episode. He has no personal grudge against the Zenkaigers or even any real loyalty to the Tozitend, but if siding with the Empire and defeating the team will help him accomplish his goals, then he’ll do so. This is then subverted in the following episode as he learns that Kaito’s Wide-Eyed Idealist hopes in finding his parents goes against his own Dark and Troubled Past over losing his parents. This now gives him an actual reason to want to defeat Kaito.
  • Not So Above It All:
    • When he tries to wake up Kaito’s parents in #19, he imitates Kaito’s roll-call, Catchphrase, and Kiai.
    • #28 sees him playing against Tennis Wald, fully indulging in the more ridiculous aspects of the whole match. On top of this, he insists to the Zenkaigers that he is Satoshi for this time.
  • Not So Stoic:
    • Kaito’s optimism over finding his parents really sets the normally aloof Stacy off, as it heavily contrasts with his pessimism over his Dark and Troubled Past, giving him a true motivation to defeat Kaito.
    • He shows a much softer side around Yatsude, even forming a couple of half-smiles here and there in her presence.
  • Odd Friendship: With Hakaizer. Stacy is The Stoic and no-nonsense soldier while Hakaizer is bubbly and energetic, but both of them get along well and Stacy genuinely considers him a friend.
  • Offered the Crown: The citizens of Kikaitopia offer to make him their new king in the final episode. He refuses, but agrees to help them rebuild.
  • Parental Substitute: It is implied he sees Hakaizer as one due to his supportiveness and willingness to work together, which all the more adds to his shock when he learns he is actually Kaito's father Isao. It ends up so bad he refuses to let him return to Kaito because he doesn't want to lose yet another parental figure and comrade, even if it means losing and betraying Yatsude's trust.
  • Pet the Dog: Yatsude reminds him of his late mother, leading to him forming a soft spot for her presence.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Vroon points out that Stacy's angst and secret-keeping towards Yatsude is completely unfounded by letting him know that he's also a Tozitend defector and had no issues getting accepted into Colorful. Stacy can only laugh at how long he's been worrying over nothing.
  • Purple Is Powerful: His civilian outfit has purple accents, his Ranger form is mostly purple, and he’s a general of the Tozitend. The equipment he uses are also (predominantly) purple versions of the Zenkaigers’. His personal mecha also have purple accents on their bodies as part of their color schemes. Then comes his upgrade in #26, where he’s clad in even more purple.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: He’s an attractive young man with black hair and paler skin compared to the rest of the human cast.
  • Red Baron: He’s referred to as the "Demon Prince", indicating he's not someone to take lightly.
  • Redemption Earns Life: For a given definition of being actually villainous. He was with the villains but only tagged along to fulfil his own goals while possessing sympathetic qualities. Nevertheless, once he finally defects to Kaito's team as their 11th-Hour Ranger and reconciles with the lad and his grandmother, he becomes the only one from the Tozitend to get out of the war alive.
  • The Rival: To Kaito/Zenkaizer, especially over their histories, parents and their outlooks on their parents going missing.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: It becomes increasingly apparent after he starts visiting Yatsude at Colorful that underneath his arrogant exterior is a sad mess that desperately craves affection.
  • Token Human: He’s the only member of the Tozitend with a human form. Episode 7 further reveals that he’s a human-Kikanoid hybrid.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Episode 26 sees him go through a significant one, nearly beating the Zenkaigers with his upgrades given by Ijirude.
  • Token Good Teammate: Stacy is the only member of Tozitend who has sympathetic and redeemable qualities. He isn't keen on taking over or destroying the world and despite his rivalry with the Zenkaigers, he is willing to help them due to his attachment towards Yatsude.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Episode 29 shows that he used to be a Cheerful Child before his mother’s death.
  • Villains Out Shopping: He goes wandering around town when Retro Wald strikes, meeting Yatsude along the way. He then hangs out with her at Colorful from Episodes 16 to 22.
  • Vocal Evolution: His voice gets a little huskier after his upgrade, signifying his transition into a more vicious threat to the team.
  • When He Smiles:
    • It’s brief, but he actually gives a small one watching children play in #32 while stuck in Kaito’s body.
    • #47 gives him a more honest, genuine smile after he patches things up with Yatsude and Kaito when they both allow him to stay with them.
  • The Worf Effect: After two episodes of establishing himself to be a threat to the team, he finds himself on the other end of many a Curb-Stomp Battle at the hands of Twokaizer. Chronologically his debut as Stacaesar and first loss to Twokaizer all happened within the same day.

Tropes exclusive to him as Stacaesar

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksze_stacaesar.png
Ja Bang!note  Stacaesar!
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksze_stacaesar_kyoka.png
Fe Burn! Stacaesar!

  • Arm Cannon: His Caesar Ankoku Ryuseigun, note  a missile launcher mounted on his right wrist granted by Kyoka Form.
  • Chest Blaster: His Caesar Jaou Houkougeki, note  a cannon mounted in the Toziru Gear symbol on his chest, granted by Kyoka Form.
  • Evil Knockoff: Sort of. He's an evil purple, red and black version of Zenkaizer with hints of Battle Japan. His Geartozinger is also a purple, red and black Geartlinger based on King Boccowaus’ bird Gege, not unlike the Zenkaigers’ gun being based on Setchan. The Dark Sentai Gears he use are purple versions of the heroes’ gold Sentai Gears.
  • Finishing Move: Caesar Ankoku Jabakugeki:note  Stacaesar fires an explosive attack from the Geartozinger.
  • Foil: To Zenkaizer, with their names mirroring one another (Stacaesar/Zenkaizer); both “Caesar” and “Kaiser” are respectively the Latin and German words for an imperial title derived from Julius Caesar. This also applies to the seasons they homage; while Zenkaizer homages Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, the first season of the franchise as a whole, Stacaesar homages Battle Fever J, which was the first season with giant fights and was even recognized as the first Super Sentai season until Chouriki Sentai Ohranger.
  • Good Costume Switch: It's subtle, but his suit in the VS. movie now lacks the Tozitend belt buckle.
  • The Gunslinger: Like Zenkaizer with his Geartlinger, Stacaesar primarily uses the Geartozinger as both a ranged and melee weapon.
  • Homage: The helmet and scarf make him look like an evil Battle Japan, while his color scheme brings to mind Commander Hedder.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: A rectangular red shield granted by Kyoka Form, capable of zipping around and hitting others just like Captain America's trusty shield. It can even tank a mighty punch from Twokaiser's Ohren form, though it can't block the shockwave behind it.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: After getting thrashed by the Zenkaigers in #23, he is rebuilt and upgraded by Ijirude into a stronger form, Stacaesar Kyoka (強化note ), which grants him additional weapons and the ability to summon the super forms of certain Sentai rangers.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has six red eye slits, and is on the side of the Tozitend.
  • Spell My Name With An S: His name was debated between “Staceyzer” and “Stacaesar” before being confirmed as the latter.

    Hakaizer (unmarked spoilers)

Portrayed by: Daijiro Kawaokanote  (voice), Hirotsugu Mori (suit)

Hakaizer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zenkai_hakaizer_kai.png
Hakaizer Kai
The Machine Power… Hakaizer!

A mysterious armored warrior created by Ijirude, tasked to guard the Walds and assist them in their mission.

He is later revealed beneath the helm to be Kaito's long-lost father Isao, who was brainwashed into serving the Tozitend.

  • Affably Evil: Despite being on the villains’ side, he’s quite friendly towards Kaito and co., even exchanging Casual Danger Dialogue in battle. He later reveals to Stacy he’s mainly fighting because he finds it fun to battle the Zenkaigers, and actively encourages teamwork amongst his comrades to achieve their goals, unlike the rest of the Tozitend who suffer major distrust of each other. He loses the "Affable" part upon becoming Hakaizer Kai.
  • Arm Cannon: Has machine guns built into his wrists.
  • Bait-and-Switch: In episode 29, Hakaizer appears from Stacy's shadow to ambush him. The episode ends, giving the idea that he's some serious, no-nonsense guy. Then comes episode 30, where we finally see him debut and... he talks a lot in an energetic tone and does action poses.
  • Battle Boomerang: The V-Merang, a massive wing-shaped bladed boomerang that functions as both a melee and ranged weapon. This is removed upon his upgrade to Kai.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Has quite the goofy personality at times, and yet is able to easily wipe the floor with the Zenkaigers.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Hakaizer doesn’t require the Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon to give Zocks a hard time in all of his forms.
  • The Brute: The guy who protects the Monster of the Week, acts as the Recurring Boss and is the first bad guy defeated.
  • Catchphrase: “Zenryoku de Hakai!”note
  • Enemy Summoner: Like Stacy, Hakaizer can summon copies of Sentai members via the Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon, though rather than entire teams he summons Rangers with similar themes/motifs. However, this ability is tied to the cannon, so when Kaito reclaims it, Hakaizer can't do this anymore.
  • Expy: Of Wolzard, being the armored enforcer of his faction who is later revealed to be the father of his series' hero and an unwilling servant to the Big Bad, albeit with different appearances and personalities, times of debut, and backstories. Both father-son duos' names are even one syllable away from the other's (Isamu/Isao, Kai/Kaito).
  • Foil: To his fellow Evil Counterpart of the Zenkaigers, Stacy; in contrast to Stacy’s human-Kikainoid hybrid nature and sombre demeanour, Hakaizer is a human in a mechanical suit of armor with an outgoing personality. While Stacy only sees his working with the Tozitend as a means to an end, Hakaizer is completely loyal to their cause — at least, until it is revealed that he was actually brainwashed.
  • Foreshadowing: The red lines running down his shoulders and torso resemble the kanji for "father" (父/chichi).
  • Fuel Meter of Power: Hakaizer has a limited battery life, and will run out of charge if he fights for too long, requiring him to return to the Tozitend Palace to recharge. Running out of power also causes the brainwashing to wear off.
  • Hand Cannon: The Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon, dubbed the “Hakai Gun” before being reclaimed by Kaito.
  • Hero's Evil Predecessor: Episode 30 reveals that Hakaizer was originally a prototype design for Zenkaizer.
  • Homage:
  • Keet: Has a very boisterous personality, not unlike Kaito’s. This trait is suppressed upon his upgrade to Kai.
  • Kiai: Like many older Toku heroes, he uses “Toūh!”
  • Knight of Cerebus: Goofy, friendly, casual attitude to nearly all aside, he’s the first guy of the Tozitend to trounce the Zenkaigers with his knowledge of their moves and his own sheer power, aside from Stacy, the show’s first Knight of Cerebus who possesses almost no humorous traits. Oh, and none of the robots the Tozitend sent before him could defeat the team soundly in their first run, making him a bigger threat than the other Walds, Elite Mooks or generals.
  • Made of Iron: He manages to survive a blast from the Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon's finisher, at point-blank range.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: He gets upgraded to Hakaizer Kai (改note ) by Ijirude in #40, which greatly increases his battle prowess and strength. And he also gets a Badass Cape to show his power as well!
  • Mind Control: As shown with Isao, Ijirude modified the armor to brainwash its wearer.
  • Mirror Character: He exhibits a combination of traits from both Kaito/Zenkaizer and Zocks/Twokaizer (the former’s Keetish personality and the latter’s cockiness); ergo, he’s what it would be like if someone like them were on the Tozitend’s side.
  • Portmanteau: His name is one of "Hakai" (破壊), which is Japanese for “destruction,” and “kaizer.”
  • Power Makes Your Voice Deep: Upon his upgrade, his voice changes from a jovial tone to a darker, more menacing one.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: He sports red and black on his body as part of his colour scheme and he’s working for the villains.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: He works for the Tozitend and he has a red visor, another sign of his villainy.
  • Shadow Walker: He can travel through shadows, allowing him to perform sneak-attacks.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Episode 40 sees him go through what Stacy did, with the Zenkaigers genuinely struggling against him.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: His upgrade to Kai also suppresses his friendly traits in favor of a more ruthless personality, resulting in him becoming much colder towards Stacy.
  • What's Up, King Dude?: Greets Boccowaus rather informally during his introduction.

Mecha

    Battle Caesar Robo

Portrayed by: Shinsuke Kusano (suit, I and II), Hirotsugu Mori (suit, III)

Stacaesar's first personal robot, built by Ijirude to combat the Zenkaigers ever since Zocks and his crew appear. It first sorties with the team armed with a sword and shield and two leg blades in its original iteration. Ijirude later invents a second iteration of it called Battle Caesar Robo II,note  now featuring additional laser cannons. A third iteration, Battle Caesar Robo IIInote  with similar looks to the first would also be deployed.
  • Finishing Move: Battle Caesar Robo II possesses two of them:
  • Homage: It's basically a heavily armed and armoured Evil Knockoff of the Battle Fever team’s Battle Fever Robo.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: Villainous variant. It wields the Dark Sword (Ankokuken) and Stashield shield, giving it a villainous knightly look.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Battle Caesar Robo II is faster and tougher than its original iteration, with enough power and speed to give ZenkaijūOh a run for its money.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: As mentioned earlier, the robot carries the Stashield shield which is capable of blocking any damage the Zenkaigers' robot forms and other robots. It's one of three recurring weapons this robot possesses.
  • Mix-and-Match Weapon: The twin Swordcaesars ever since its second iteration. Those two swords don't just function as swords; they can also be used as laser guns as well!
  • Teleportation: Battle Caesar Robo can warp to other locations whenever Stacy wants to, such as when he withdrew from the battle after TwokaiOh Cutanner defeated Katatsumuri Wald.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: It can throw its twin Swordcaesars at the enemy to deal critical damage and/or destroy them; said weapons pack in rocket propulsion and explode immediately on impact.

    ZenkaiOh Black JuraGaon

Portrayed by: Yohei Fujita (suit)

Stacaesar's second robot, also built by Ijirude, made to resemble ZenkaiOh JuraGaon amidst giving the former major upgrades.
  • Evil Knockoff: It's a black, silver, purple and gold knock-off of ZenkaiOh JuraGaon.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Possesses a copy of the Juran Shield which can also block any form of damage.
  • Teleportation: Similarly to Battle Caesar Robo, albeit via disappearing in black smoke rather than through a portal.
  • Unrealistic Black Hole: It can split down the middle and generate a black hole capable of deflecting all attacks back to their senders.

    HaKaijūOh

Portrayed by: Naoya Iguchi (suit)

The personal robot of Hakaizer, built by Ijirude from the remains of a previous king of Kikaitopia.

    IjiruDestroyer IV

Portrayed by: Hirotsugu Mori (suit)

The personal robot of Ijirude.
  • Four Is Death: This robot has "IV" (Roman numeral for the number 4) in its name...and Ijirude dies in it when it gets destroyed by ZenkaiOh JuraGaon and VrooMagine. Extra points for it being the fourth personal robot (in terms of robot names and series) deployed by the Tozitend.
  • Homage: To Great Insarn, both being robots piloted by the villains' evil geniuses and falling with their pilots in their only episode.
  • Portmanteau: Its name is one of "Ijirude" and "destroyer".

Soldiers

    Kudacks
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksze_kudakk.png

The Tozitend’s foot soldiers. They wield Plug Lancers, spears with two-pronged plugs at the end.

  • Mecha-Mooks: Are robots, just like the rest of the Tozitend.
  • Mooks: They’re the Tozitend’s primary fighting force.
  • Pokémon Speak: They say only fragments of “Kudack.”
    Kudacks: Dackdackdackdack.
  • Punny Name: Their name is based on the word “kudaku/砕く/to crush.”
  • TV Head Robot: A variant. Their heads are designed after computers, with their visors being the screens and their mouth guards being the keyboard.

    Kudaiters

Portrayed by: Hideo Ishikawa (voice, main)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksze_kudaiter.png

The elite foot soldiers of the Tozitend. Unlike the Kudacks, they are fully capable of speech. They serve as a template for the Walds.

  • Chainsaw Good: They have similar weapons to the Kudacks, only that the prongs are red chainsaw blades.
  • Elite Mook: They’re far stronger than basic Kudacks and able to hold their own against a Zenkaiger for a decent amount of time.
  • Meaningful Name: Just like the Kudacks, they are named based on the word “kudaku,” however the Kudaiters end with a “-ter” suffix to indicate they are a level above the normal Kudacks.
  • Monster of the Week: One of them serves as the very first one in episode 1.
  • Shock and Awe: They can use their Plug Lancers to deliver electric shocks.

    Kudaitests

Portrayed by: Kazuki Komine (voice), Naoya Iguchi (suit)

Kudaitest
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksze_new_kudaitest.png
New Kudaitest
The (Characteristic) Power is overflowing, (Verbal Tic)!

Giant, dinosaurian Blank Slate robots deployed on Earth when a Wald is defeated. Ijirude later upgrades them into the more powerful New Kudaitests.

  • Awesome, but Impractical: New Kudaitests are much stronger than the original model, but can’t be mass-produced like they can.
  • Evil Evolves: Ijirude uses Dr. Isao’s knowledge to upgrade them into the even more colossal New Kudaitests.
  • Eye Beams: They can radiate heat beams from their eyes.
  • Giant Mook: In their blank state. They are often established to be grouped in the same mook hierarchy as the Kudacks and Kudaiters and are at the top of it.
  • Kaiju: They partially evoke this look with their lower halves looking similar to a dinosaur. As such, this applies to the Great Walds they turn into as well.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Their main purpose. It absorbs the defeated Wald’s damaged Toziru Gear and acts as a vessel for it, allowing the Wald to take over its body and become a berserk giant version of itself, known as a Great Wald.
    • The New Kudaitests can enlarge themselves if they gather enough Toziru Energy, growing from 63 meters to 300 meters.
  • Meaningful Name: Just like the Kudacks, they are named based on the word “kudaku,” however the Kudaitests end with a “-test” suffix to indicate they are the strongest, above both the Kudacks and Kudaiters.
  • Stealthy Colossus: They always manage to come on to the scene to absorb a Wald’s powers with no one hearing them arrive.

    Walds
Mechanical beings formed from Toziru Gears, which are created when the Tozitend successfully seals a parallel world. When defeated, the parallel world they represent will be freed.
  • Acquired Situational Narcissism: They were already pretty arrogant as Kudaiters. Attaining the power to vandalize reality with a sweep of their hands has only engorged their egos further.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: While similar in concept to the Jamenshi, the Jamenshis’ goal was to gather enough negative energy from human suffering to open a gateway to bring over the entire Yodon army to conquer Earth. The Walds meanwhile cause mayhem on Earth just to make it easier for the Tozitend to physically conquer it, but on a more widespread level due to being able to trigger When Dimensions Collide.
  • Emergency Weapon: While their move sets are primarily dictated by their themes, a fair number of them come equipped with secondary armaments such as missile launchers and machine guns to dole out direct attacks.
  • Genius Loci: They’re created using Toziru Gears with parallel universes sealed in them. So in a sense, they are the sealed worlds given a conscience. Defeating one frees the world the Wald draws its power from.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Many of them manage to utilize strange and seemingly useless abilities...you know, things like “sushi” and “tag”...to frequently put the entire world (to say nothing of the protagonists) on the ropes.
  • Monster of the Week: The main enemies the Zenkaigers face, both to prevent Earth from warping beyond recognition and to free the sealed world each represents.
  • Meaningful Name: Spelled as “Wald” as a contraction of the word “World” to signify that they are a corrupted representation of the Worlds they are based on.
  • Mook Promotion: Ijirude creates them by fusing a Toziru Gear with a Kudack, upgrading it to a Kudaiter before layering the Wald’s unique features over it.
  • Planet of Hats: The worlds they represent are often these, which provides and fuels the unique characteristics each of them have.
  • Powered by a Forsaken Child: Or in this case, entire imprisoned universes.
  • Punny Name: Their name is based on the word “warui/悪い/evil,” as well as “world,” minus the elongation.
  • Reality Warper: The longer they are unleashed on Earth, the more Earth will be fused with the parallel world they represent. When they become a Great Wald, their berserk power completely changes the landscape around them to fit their theme.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Several fan translations have their name spelt in English as “World.” However the original Japanese spelling lacks an elongation which makes it read as “Wald”note .
  • Verbal Tic: They commonly litter their speech with their own names.note  It’s heavily implied by Kinoko Wald that they all follow this rule in order to not forget their new names after their Mook Promotion.

Kinokonote  Wald

Portrayed by: Mitsuaki Kanuka (voice)

World: Kinokotopia
Noted Product: Wild mushrooms (Poison spores)
Specialty: Smash Punch, Galactica Mushroom
A Wald created from the Kinoko Toziru Gear, representing Kinokotopia, a world predominated by mushrooms.

  • Last Words: “Be careful around wild mushroomsss!
  • Megaton Punch: The Galactica Mushroom, a charged punch with his right arm that is a reference to the Galactica Magnum in Ring ni Kakero.
  • Mushroom Man: He is essentially this.
  • Power Fist: He has a spiked gauntlet on his left arm that he uses for his Smash Punch attack.
  • Verbal Tic: The first Wald to start this, he litters his sentences with “kinoko.” Ijirude notices this and asks him why he does it.
Kinoko Wald: Since I am now Kinoko Wald, in order to not forget that I’m Kinoko Wald, I do this, kinoko!

Kōrinote  Wald

Portrayed by: Shintaro Ohata (voice)

World: Kōritopia

  • An Ice Person: His power allows him to create ice.
  • Last Words: “Be careful eating kakigōri too fast, kōrī!
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: The world he represents is one, and, as noted under Endless Winter above, he turns the Zenkaigers' world into one too.

Boxing Wald

Portrayed by: Shunichi Maki (voice)

World: Boxingtopia
Noted Product: Men and women of all ages openweight division boxers

  • Gratuitous English: The winners among those hit by his Hate Plague will often declare in English “I’m winner!
  • Hate Plague: His gong causes people to be equipped with boxing gloves and initiate a boxing-based battle royale, fighting each other until the last one standing.
  • Last Words:
  • Red Boxing Gloves: Not only does Boxing Wald have these as part of his design, but the people hit by his Hate Plague gain boxing gloves that can come in red, and sometimes blue if they’re already facing someone with red gloves.
  • Rocket Punch: He is able to launch his boxing gloves as such.

Sushi Wald

Portrayed by: Yutaka Aoyama (voice)

World: Sushitopia
Noted Product: Extra-special human nigirizushi
Specialty: Missile A-B, WasaBeam
A Wald created from the Sushi Toziru Gear, representing Sushitopia, a world of high-quality sushi and extremely sticky sumeshi rice.
  • Achilles' Heel: He is drawn in by the odor of sumeshi rice, the kind that gets used in sushi.
  • Chained Heat: He ties Kaito and Juran together with seaweed.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Great Sushi Wald uses two sushi banners as weapons.
  • Last Words: “We’re clooosed! All out, sushī-!!
  • Punny Name: His weapons have these.
    • His missiles, A-B, are based on “Ebi/Shrimp.”
    • His WasaBeam is a Portmanteau of “wasabi” and “beam”
  • Sticky Situation: He makes “sushi” out of his victims, sticking them down onto whatever he grasps them with using sticky rice and seaweed wrapping, and sometimes topping it off with extra sticky wasabi.

Gominote  Wald

Portrayed by: Keiji Himeno (voice)

World: Gomitopia
Noted Product: Waste matter roads
Specialty: Dust Chute, DuStorm

  • Last Words:
    • Door Wald: “Uwah! Doorshite doorshite… DOORRR-!?note
    • Great Door Wald: “Door! Locking up is severely…!
  • Logical Weakness: His power turns every door into a teleportal that leads somewhere else. The Kikainoid Zenkaigers avoid it by growing giant and making their way to Japan without passing through any door.
  • Noisy Robots: Being based on a door, he additionally makes a lot of creaking noises when he moves.
  • Portal Door: His powers not only create these, but also turns all existing doors into these as well, and ther destinations are random places across the world, causing panic and disarray. Even shōji doors, car doors, windows, and manholes are affected.

  • Contrived Coincidence: His powers only cause those who have recently ate kashiwa mochi to crazily crave for more of it. As it happens, his attack happened close to May 5th, when Japan celebrates Children’s Day, and part of its celebration involves eating kashiwa mochi, so there were plenty of people affected by his power.
  • Last Words:
    • Kashiwamochi Wald: “Mochī!

  • Achilles' Heel: The button on his forehead, which when pressed ends the “game” of Tag and returns all his victims to normal.
    • Subverted as Great Onigokko Wald. Pressing said button triggers a Hot Potato game instead where his Oni mask acts as a Time Bomb that latches onto whoever is “It” until “It” tags the next victim to latch onto.
  • Flight: Great Onigokko Wald can fly with the boosters on his shoulders.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Great Onigokko Wald gets destroyed by his own Time Bomb, courtesy of the Goldtsuikers slapping it back onto him.
  • Last Words:
  • Rocket Punch: He can launch his forearms to tag people from a distance.
  • Shout-Out: His last words reference the Japanese drama Wataru Seken wa Oni Bakari.
  • The Virus: His powers spread like a plague; anyone who touches or gets touched by him turns into an “It” Oni who is then forced to hunt and tag other non-Oni against their will, with the goal of eventually turning the entire world’s population into Oni.

  • Evil Knockoff: He makes these as Great Recycle Wald.
    • He summons recycled versions of Great Kinoko, Kōri, Boxing and Sushi Walds, forming their own Psycho Rangers team known as Recycle Sentai Daiwalger.
    • His team also recycles the Zenkaigers’ Geartlinger Bazooka finisher with a giant Geartozinger instead, aptly named the “Recycle Bazooka.”
  • Forced Transformation : He “recycles” his victims by turning them into “Recycled Kudacks,” creating a semi-Hostage Situation where the Zenkaigers cannot eliminate them without risk of harm to the civilians. This is worsened when Barashitara supplies them with counterfeit Toziru Gears to bait Twokaizer into directly attacking them for the Gear he’s looking for, to the Zenkaigers’ dismay.
  • Last Words: Rather anticlimactic ones at that.
Great Recycle Wald: You’re Stacaesar! Have you come to help me, recycle!?
Stacaesar: No. It’s Nothing Personal, but I came to defeat you.
    Great Recycle Wald: WH… WHY~~~~!?
  • Palette Swap: Fittingly enough, his suit is a direct reuse of Gomi Wald’s, with an added “recycle” logo on his chest(which Barashitara draws attention to).
  • Stock Footage: Not even footage is safe from Recycle Wald's power, as footage from the previous battles of the recycled Great Walds is re-used for the giant battle.

  • Last Words:
    • Jishaku Wald: “Aāh! I… I’m losing power, jishaku…
    • Great Jishaku Wald, after all the Kikainoid Zenkaigers did Calling Your Attacks with their Finishing Moves at the same time: “Eh, what? I couldn’t hear, jishaku! Guaaāh!!
  • Logical Weakness: Kaito uses Five Red’s knowledge of science to figure out that high heat weakens magnetism, and thus, weakens Jishaku Wald's powers.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: He turns humans and Kikainoids into living magnets, the effect being stronger on Kikainoids because they're made of metal. Great Jishaku Wald can forcibly separate mecha with his SS Slash, or attach them by force with his SN Slash.
  • Mythology Gag: He is based on the Recurring Element of magnet-themed monsters from past Sentai.
  • Samurai: His design evokes the feel of a samurai warlord.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Heat and fire weaken his magnetic abilities.

  • Cupid's Arrow: Not only does he use Cupid’s bow and arrow, his face literally is the bow and arrow!
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Watch as the Zenkaigers use the Jetman gear and see which ranger goes into who: Black Condor goes into him, and he dies in a Shot-for-Shot Remake of the infamous Bittersweet Ending of Jetman where Gai dies getting stabbed by a petty purse thief.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard:
    • Reversing his love powers into The Power of Hate would incredibly effective, except for the fact that it only makes the Zenkaigers filled with wrath instead. His inability to account for this leads to him getting beaten up more than once before being utterly obliterated by Zenkaizer and Twokaizer's Combination Attack.
    • As Great Ren’ai Wald, he makes all the Zenkaigers love him and be open to taking his attacks. However, when asked who he loves the most, he isn’t able to come up with an answer, sparking a rage from them that ends up getting him destroyed.
  • Last Words:
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: His initial demise as normal Ren'ai Wald spoils the infamous Bittersweet Ending of Choujin Sentai Jetman by way of being a Shot-for-Shot Remake of one of the final scenes of the show (specifically, Gai's death at the hands of a petty crook while preparing to go his friend's wedding).
  • Love Is in the Air: His Aishi Arrow attack causes people to fall in love all over, and when he levels up the Ren’ai power, the couples start to fight.
  • One Last Smoke: Parodied. To cap off his (initial) demise at the hands of Zenkaizer and Twokaizer thanks to the Jetman gear, he smokes a rose exactly like how Gai did with an actual cigarette before he died. Then he explodes.
  • The Power of Love: His main ability, which causes anyone to romantically fall for another they had any form of close contact with, regardless of gender or even species, in order to make his victims preoccupied with flirting with each other. Specialty: TanaBuster
A pair of Walds created from the Orihime and Hikoboshi Toziru Gears, representing Orihimetopia and Hikoboshitopia, two Tanabata-themed worlds separated and unable to meet until the fateful day once every year.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: This is how Orihime Wald’s tanzaku paper wishes work. Rather than granting the Wald’s wishes, it manipulates the recipient’s perception, such as thinking that their precious treasures are gone (in Touma’s group’s case, their Wonder Ride Books. However, a non-swordsman such as Mei, who doesn’t treasure the Books as much, is unaffected and can still see them).
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Great Hikoboshi Wald uses a similar move to Orihime Wald by sticking a giant tanzaku paper on TwokaiOh with “I wish for TwokaiOh to be defeated” written on it, severely weakening the mecha. ZenkaiOh VrooMagine turns this around by magically editing the wish to “I wish for Great Hikoboshi Wald to be defeated” and sticking it back on him, weakening the Wald instead.
  • Last Words:
    • Orihime Wald: “I knew it was out of season, orihimē-!
    • Hikoboshi Wald: “Guwāh…! I wanted to meet Orihime, hikoboshi…!
    • Great Hikoboshi Wald: “The old calendar’s Tanabata is August 14th this yearrr-!!

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: His main powers as a Wald was to turn civilians into Brutish Bulls and manipulate them through Bull Seeing Red, but his power as a Great Wald turns the entire city into giant pots of yakiniku instead. When he's called out on this, he justifies it by claiming Japanese fighting bulls are all Japanese Blacks, a notable Wagyu breed.
  • Blow You Away: His Storm of Wild Enthusiasm attack unleashes a strong gust of wind that blows his opponents away.
  • Bull Seeing Red: He weaponises this, being able to direct his bull-fied civilians to attack victims wearing whichever color he declares as the target.

After he bullies some other beachgoers and the Zenkaigers put him in his place, he keeps challenging them... because he genuinely wants to play with them. And he doesn't even resort to any dirty tricks. Even after Barashitara puts him down and his spell wears off, Zenkaizer still seems slightly upset over the fact.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: The only Wald that actually succeeded in putting the Zenkaigers out of commission and taking over Earth, as everyone enjoys the resulting world of an eternal vacation that no one actually minded that the Tozitend is in charge of it. Barashitara, however, decided it wasn't worth the success and ends the Wald along with the takeover.

A Wald created from the Hidokei Toziru Gear, representing Hidokeitopia, a world of sundials that control the passage of time.
  • Last Words: “Hidokei…!note
  • Mythology Gag: His “Noted Product” is nice little twofer: it's a reference to the opening of Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger; “Toki wo kakeru Wald,” from the line “Toki wo kakeru kibō.”note , and it's also a Shout-Out to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time/“Toki wo Kakeru Shōjo”.
  • Poor Communication Kills: His lack of ability to convince them that he is a Tozitend from the future gets him shot down by his superiors from the past every time he tries to warn them about the Zenkaigers. Setchan quite literally outs him on this.

    • Great Kaki Wald: “Japanese persimmons are also delicious in salad, kakī-!
  • Semantic Superpower: As Great Kaki Wald, his powers revolve around homonyms of the Japanese word kaki. This includes firing oysters, trapping our heroes in flower pots, and even a flamethrower. Twokaizer and Zenkaizer rebel against this by forming ZenkaijūOh and deploying some kaki of their own...namely, Jūkakinote .

    • Great Bon Wald: "I'll be back next Bon!"
    • Great Shōgatsu Wald: "How many more nights until it's New Year's again?!"
  • Necromancer: Bon Wald's Obon Incense Stick smoke brings the ancestors of those it touches Back from the Dead.
  • New Year Has Come: Shōgatsu Wald's main ability is to evoke this in anyone that he affects when they hear his bell, keeping them in an hour-long loop where they fall into the New Years' mood and completely ignore bad events, including the Tozitend. This prevents the team from actually doing anything against him as a result, until they twist this by making the fight against him a joyous occasion, thus making him being unable to be forgotten or ignored.
