Goshikida Family

    Yatsude Goshikida

Portrayed by: Ikue Sakakibara

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7ac6e6.jpg
Kaito’s grandmother, and owner of the sweet-shop and café Colorful, the basement of which serves as the Home Base for the Zenkaigers. She takes care of Kaito in the absence of his parents.
  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: She’s certainly no spring chicken, but really does not look 60.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Kaito calls her “Yatchan.”
  • Cool Old Lady: She acts as a loving grandmother to anybody she interacts with, and has quite the spry bone when she’s up for it as seen in episode 15.
  • Family Theme Naming: She is named after Sentai producers’ collective pen-name Saburo Hattenote .
  • Nice Girl: She is a very friendly and welcoming individual towards everyone she interacts with.
  • Refusal of the Call:
    • Kaito tries to recruit her into the cause, but she absolutely refuses — citing her age as the primary reason why she can’t fight.
    • Hilariously this comes back to bite her, as in #29 she tries to fight off the Tennis Wald on her own and even attempts pulling out a Geartlinger. Despite having none of her own.
  • You Remind Me of X: Stacey becomes reminded of his late mother in her presence.

    Setchan

Portrayed by: Misato Fukuen (voice)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/secchan.jpg
A toy bird that Kaito’s parents built before they disappeared. He acts as the mascot for Colorful and is deeply loved by both Kaito and Yatsude. He supports the team with his encyclopedic knowledge of past Sentai teams.
  • Catchphrase: “Zenkai no Zenkaiger wa…!”note  and “Jikai no Zenkaiger wa…!”note
  • Character Narrator: He narrates the Previously on… segments from episode 2 onwards, and introduces the On the Next segments from episode 1.
  • Expy: Of the various intelligent creatures that were prominent in the early Shozo Uehara seasons.
  • Homage: A shared one with Kaito/Zenkaizer. His form is also based on the Varidorin Cool Plane.
  • Meta Guy: He often questions the various effects of the Sentai Gears when they are particularly ridiculous.
  • Mission Control: He monitors the situation and advises the team on how to use their powers.
  • Polly Wants a Microphone: He's a sentient talking toy bird.
  • Red Is Heroic: He's primarily red in color and an ally of the Zenkaigers.
  • Team Pet: He’s Kaito’s toy bird who’s an ally of the Zenkaigers.
  • Tragic Keepsake: He’s the only thing Kaito’s parents left behind before they disappeared.
  • Verbal Tic: Ends his sentences with “Chun,” the Japanese onomatopoeia for a bird’s chirp. In episode 1, he announces the activation of his hidden protocols with “Chun chun chun tuning complete!” This is completely omitted in Over-Time's fansubs.

    Isao and Mitsuko Goshikida

Isao Portrayed by: Daijiro Kawaoka
Young Isao Portrayed by: Sojiro Chiba (infant), Naritaka Goto (elementary school), Homare Fujii (middle school)

Mitsuko Portrayed by: Marie Kai

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20210208_175241.jpg
Kaito’s parents, who invented the Zenkaiger technology before their disappearance 10 years ago. They are particularly well-known for proposing the theory of parallel worlds, which was proven true when Kikaitopia merged with Earth.

For tropes pertaining to Isao as Hakaizer, see his folder under Tozitend Dynasty.
  • Action Survivor: When Mitsuko escapes cryogenic storage, she runs into Ijirude... and immediately attacks him, knocking him over and making a break for it.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Yatsude refers to Mitsuko as "Micchan".
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Isao as Hakaizer, while not so much crazy, was made to compel to work for the Tozitend such that he doesn't actually care that the Tozitend are evil, but just wants to have a fun fight.
  • Cyborg: Isao has permanently become one due to heavy modifications on his body done by Ijirude, as such he still retains much of Hakaizer's characteristics depite having been recovered from his brainwashing, such as a need to recharge and glowing eye indicators.
  • Deus ex Machina: Lampshaded by Isao, who believes he found Mitsuko due to a "godly intervention" that gave him the idea to look for her in Sushitopia. This is likely the Creator's intervention to finish up his Weirdness Search and Rescue scheme.
  • Disappeared Dad/Missing Mom: They have been missing for a decade. Episode 23 reveals that Ijirude has them stored in stasis in his lab, with partial Brain Uploading done to be able to interact with their mental data through his console.
  • Family Theme Naming: They are named after Himitsu Sentai Gorenger’s theme song singers Isao Sasaki and Mitsuko Horie.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: They are this due to having invented the Zenkaigers' equipment. Isao in particular is shown on-screen to have easily grasped the concept of inter-dimensional travel from Flint's teachings and used it to modify a Colorful delivery truck to traverse the Worlds in search of Mitsuko, who was still missing at that point.
  • Like Father, Like Son:
    • From what we see of him, Isao is shown to be energetic and cheerful, much like his son Kaito. This extends even to him as Hakaizer.
    • Apparently, Kaito got his habit of calling Yatsude "Yatchan" from Mitsuko.
  • Good Parents: As far as the audience can tell, they were — and still are — incredibly encouraging to Kaito no matter the odds.
  • Put on a Bus: Ever since her escape from the Tozitend Palace, Mitsuko has yet to reappear in the series. Similarly, shortly after his recovery Isao modifies a Colorful delivery van for inter-dimensional travel and goes off with it to continue the search for Mitsuko. They eventually return in #48.
  • Shared Family Quirks: In #26, Mitsuko performs Kaito's "choāh!" Kiai while escaping the Tozitend Palace.
  • Start My Own: Inspired by the teams of Super Sentai they observed from certain parallel worlds protecting their Earths, they built devices with which to start a Sentai team to protect this Earth.

Goldtsuiker Family

    In General
  • Ambiguous Situation: It wasn't explained why the Tozitend had to attempt a physical invasion of their home Kaizokutopia before sealing it in a Toziru Gear, which ended up allowing the family to infiltrate and steal their tech.
  • Human Aliens: They are humans, but not from the Zenkaigers' World.
  • Sole Survivor: They're the only pirates from Kaizokutopia that managed to escape imprisonment in a Toziru Gear thanks to being able to travel between Worlds.
  • Space Pirates: An inter-dimensional variant. They were once an ordinary family of pirates in Kaizokutopia until the Tozitend's physical invasion of their world allowed them to infiltrate their base and steal their inter-dimensional travel (and Gear-based) technology, giving them access to other Parallel Worlds. They have since established themselves as Kaizokutopia's first and only family of "World Plunderers" as such.

    Flint Goldtsuiker/Twokai Flintnote

Portrayed by: Hinami Mori (live), Ryoko Gomi (suit, episode 32)
Young Flint Portrayed by: Hinano Amaya

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezx_wn5veamdxcp.jpg
The Engineering Power! Twokai Flint!
The eldest daughter of the Goldtsuikers, functioning as the main engineer of the quartet.
  • Aerith and Bob: Of the older Goldtsuiker siblings, she has the rather regular name of Flint to her brother's Zocks.
  • Aesop Amnesia: She regrets that her moments of Bystander Syndrome has led to her younger brothers becoming victims of multiple incidents, but nonetheless still lets it get the better of her.
  • Badass Bystander: Despite having no Ranger form, she still shows she’s able to pack a punch in battle, be it wielding a large hammer during the raid on the Tozitend base or just shooting down Kudacks with her revolver.
  • Big Brother Worship: Looks up to Zocks, along with her brothers.
  • Big Eater: Various scenes show her buying or hoarding large amounts of food, and a scene of Zocks trying to comfort her with food has him serving her a very large portion of rice with an entire lobster and other seafood stuck into it.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With Zocks, her older brother, and Cutanner and Ricky, her younger brothers.
  • Bystander Syndrome: A bad habit of hers, which prevents her from intervening whenever her younger brothers argued. She often excuses her actions with the fact that Sibling Rivalry is just an everyday thing for them.
  • Expy: She comes off as somewhat similar to Miu Suto, being the younger sister of an aloof Gold Sixth Ranger who despite initially coming off putting on a similar air ends up warming to and befriending the goofier main team much easier than her brother does. Though unlike Miu, Flint doesn't have a ranger form of her ownnote  so she can only give moral and technical support (although Zocks being able to transform in her body while swapped, while Kaito and Stacy had to use either others powersets when they were, suggests Flint could potentially become Twokaizer as well.)
  • Fangirl: Of the Gokaigers, which led her to design Twokaizer as a “pirated” Gokaiger.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She’s the main engineer of the team, having created the Geardalinger based off blueprints stolen from their raid on the Tozitend base, as well as modeling Twokaizer after the Gokaigers the Goldtsuikers encountered. She reveals in episode 10 that she created gates to different worlds based off of the Tozitend’s technology for her family to travel though, and Episode 11 has her figure out how to replicate the Sentai Gears based on the other Super Sentai teams just by observing Kaito’s own Zenkaizer Sentai Gear. Episode 12 has her reveal that she modified her own brothers to work as Combining Mecha with their ship CrocoDaiOh, which also highly implies she’s the one who imbued them with the Shinkenger and Ohranger powers as well after they have been turned into robots.
  • Good Counterpart: To Ijirude, being the Gadgeteer Genius and engineer of her team.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: She accidentally becomes a temporary warrior only exclusive to the post-series stage show, after being hit by what she originally designed as another upgrade form for Twokaizer. She gains a silver Twokaizer-like form and aptly names it Twokai Flint.
    • Happens again in the crossover special with Gokaiger in a very roundabout way, where Flint uses Zox's own Ranger Key and Gai's Gokai Cellular with an add-on unit to borrow his powers, becoming a female suited version of Twokaizer.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for what happened to her younger brothers due to her Bystander Syndrome whenever they bickered, resulting in their Forced Transformation situation in SDtopia. This happens again when they fall victim to Onigokko Wald because of yet another squabble.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed. She makes herself out to be just as unscrupulous as her brother, but her interactions with the Zenkaigers sans Zocks show that she’s a fairly genial person to be around and more willing to work with the team.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite her small frame, she is shown to wield a large hammer in combat.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: She carries a mechanical revolver and is more than willing to use it against any threats. For her turn as Twokaizer she uses a Gokai Saber borrowed from Ahim, mostly for lack of other options as Zocks still had the Geardailinger with him, she'd used up all her ammo for her own revolver, and there was no time for Ahim and Gai to teach her how to Gokai Change to get other weapons (and they had no other Ranger Key's other than the base Silver one anyway). She manages to make it work and even is able to use a Final Wave attack to finish the monster off.
  • Sixth Ranger: As her own variant of Twokaizer she's technically a seventh ranger to the Gokaiger rather than the team from her own show since she uses their powers.
  • The Smart Girl: She’s a Gadgeteer Genius and occasional strategist amongst the team, forming plans to fight back against the Tozitend to make up for the lack of fighting power.
  • Tomboyish Name: “Flint” is traditionally a masculine name, which fits her tomboy nature.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: Styles her hair in this way.
  • Tomboyish Voice: She’s got a fairly gruff voice on her.
  • Unscrupulous Hero: Downplayed. Like her brother, she seems to not really care about the Zenkaigers’ world or the people in it, being solely focused on breaking the curse on her brothers. She even suggests getting rid of the Zenkaigers while they have the chance near the end of episode 10. However, her interactions with the Zenkaigers imply that she’s not as unscrupulous as she seems to be, being more willing to interact and work with the team when the time arises.

Cutanner and Ricky Goldtsuiker/Twokai Cutanner and Twokai Ricky

Cutanner Voiced by: Ryōta Suzuki
Ricky Voiced by: Satsumi Matsuda
Both Portrayed by: Kousei Sutou (live)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezx_sfkuuaif_ga.jpg
Click here to see their original human forms.

The twin brothers and youngest of the Goldtsuikers, who were cursed into Super-Deformed robots when they visited the parallel world of SDtopia. Dubbing their current forms Twokai Cutanner and Twokai Ricky to align with their older brother, they are imbued with the powers of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and Chouriki Sentai Ohranger respectively.

  • Aerith and Bob: Ricky and Cutanner.
  • Big Brother Worship: Like Flint, they greatly admire Zocks.
  • Expy: Their more Super-Deformed and cartoony designs, as well as helping Twokaizer switch into other forms, make them similar to the Legend Changers from Legend Heroes.
  • Forced Transformation : Due to messing around in SDtopia, they were cursed and turned into their current Super-Deformed robot forms, reflective of the residents of that world. Unfortunately, SDtopia was sealed in a Toziru Gear by the Tozitend before they could find a cure. In the final episode, they are not only cured, but can now access their SD forms whenever they like.
  • Fusion Dance: Due to their links to the Sentai that they’re tied to, when Twokaizer uses one of his two form-changing Gears, Cutanner and/or Ricky forms the additional armor that appears on his suit, and they also seemingly do the same with Zocks as well, since whenever he talks, both his and one of the boys’ voices come out in unison.
  • Homage:
  • Homeschooled Kids: It's revealed by their Casual Danger Dialogue that Zocks actually gives them summer vacation homework, implying he's also their teacher of sorts at home.
  • Morphic Resonance: Flashbacks show that they were already dressed in red and blue respectively when they were still human. The weapons they carried on their backs (a katana and Gatling gun barrel respectively) were also brought over and miniaturized to fit their current forms.
  • Musical Nod: Cutanner's main theme, "Tenka Gomen no Ootachimaware," is a mashup of various riffs in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger's opening and "Kaizoku no Uta," Zocks's insert song. Likewise, Ricky's main theme, "Oretachi Futago no Debanda!," does the same but with the opening to Chouriki Sentai Ohranger.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite being The Stoic of the twins, Cutanner is only such in comparison to Ricky; ironically it’s usually the former who sets up the risky dares the latter agrees on to settle their differences.
  • Punny Name:
    • Cutanner’s name is based on katana ("sword").
    • Ricky’s name is based on Riki, from Chōriki ("superpower").
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Inverted with their colors; Cutanner (red) is relatively level-headed, while Ricky (blue) is more hot-blooded.
  • Shout-Out: Their SD forms are reminiscent of the character designs of the 1990–1991 anime Karakuri Kengō Den Musashi Lord (Or Musashi, the Samurai Lord). Amusingly, both of them also contain separate basic major design elements of main protagonist Musashi, with Cutanner being a Samurai bot and Ricky having a blue body.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Despite being twins, their tastes and personalities greatly differ, and as a result they will bicker over almost anything they can’t agree on. One moment of said bickering in SDtopia led to their current Forced Transformation situation.
  • Spell My Name With An S: It was initially debated on whether their names were spelled as (respectively) “Katanar/Kattaner/Cuttaner” and “Rikki/Ricky.” TV-Asahi later confirmed them to be “Cutanner” and “Ricky.”

    Battleship CrocoDaiOh/World Plunderer Combination TwokaiOh

TwokaiOh Portrayed by: Hirotsugu Mori (suit)

The Goldtsuikers’ crocodile-themed pirate airship, which is able to combine with the Goldtsuiker twins to form TwokaiOh, activated and piloted by Twokaizer.
  • Finishing Move:
    • Twokai Cutanner: Rekka Daizan:note  TwokaiOh creates a flame construct in the shape of the Rekka Daizantou with the Cutanner Tou, delivering a flurry of slashes that form the Shiba Clan emblem before finishing the enemy off with a more powerful slash.
    • Twokai Ricky:
      • Chouriki Vulcan: The robot charges up its Super Ricky Gun with the real life inspirations of the Ohrangers' mecha. It then fires incessantly on the target before a laser pyramid crushes them.
      • Chouriki Crush: CrocoDaiOh’s nosecone "jaws" opens and sucks up the enemy into its maw, before closing it and crushing the enemy.
      • Chouriki Kung-fu: Delivers a barrage of devastating flying kicks.
      • Chouriki Burst: The Super Ricky Gun charges up before firing a beam through a pyramid that opens into a star towards the Great Wald.
  • Leader Forms the Head: The form TwokaiOh takes on requires the chosen Goldtsuiker twin to be “swallowed” into CrocoDaiOh’s body to form the head, while the remaining twin becomes the “arm” of the formation.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Cutanner’s Cool Airship half of CrocoDaiOh has been debated between “CrossKaiOh” and “CrosSkyOh.”
  • Transforming Mecha: CrocoDaiOh is able to split into two giant vehicles for the Goldtsuiker twins to pilot, the Cool Airship CrosSkyOh for Cutanner and Cool Bike CrawlingOh for Ricky.

Others

    Don Momotaro

Portrayed by: Kouhei Higuchinote  (voice), Kosuke Asai (suit)

The leader of the 46th Super Sentai, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, summoned via Sentai Gear #46.

The tropes below are in relation to his Early-Bird Cameo in this series. For tropes pertaining to his appearance in his home series, see his folder under the Donbrothers' character page.
  • Characterization Marches On: When Don Momotaro is summoned to help the Zenkaigers before the events of his own series, even though he is still the same jovial self we would come to know, he's nowhere near as bombastic as he is compared to later appearances, and his laughter is much more subdued as well.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Despite hailing from a different team, his Enya Rideon bike largely resembles the Zenkaigers' Geartlinger and is somehow able to combine with Zenkai Juran, with no explanation as to why or how.
  • Cool Bike: The Enya Rideon, which he rides into battle.
  • Cool Sword: His Zanglassword, which is the only weapon he wields in his appearance.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Zenkaizer summons him in episode 42 to assist Zenkai Juran in fighting Kotatsu Wald.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Don Momotaro is able to contain Kotatsu Wald in an energy prison for Zenkai Juran to finish off. In his own series, this isn't something he is able to do until he obtains his GolDon Form.
  • It May Help You on Your Quest: When dealing with Great Kotatsu Wald, he offers his Enya Rideon bike to help. It somehow is able to enlarge and combine with Zenkai Juran, forming Don ZenkaiOh.
