i think there may be a one-slot transformation extender?
i think its a mega man character
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaIt's Model ZX. You have to enhance it from Model X.
yea thats the one
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaNah, actually I just wanted to share with you guys a list of characters I came up with for the next Super Smash Bros. game, as a guess as to how the Franchise could "reinvent" itself. I wanted to wait until after all the DLC was released and the game was officially done with development, but fuck it, I'm having fun with this list now and I wanna share it now. I want to note that I'll only focus on two categories, Characters and Bosses, as I want to jump on all the details and make a big list of a bunch of elements for this hypothetical game, but instead I'm just going to focus on those two because that'll be easier to organize.
Starting off, I want to list off Characters. The point of this roster would be to reflect this new Smash game being a bit of a "reinvention" of the Franchise, in contrast to Ultimate being a conglomeration of everything that came before. As such, a number of characters would be cut and a lot (Though not all) of highly requested characters would make their debuts here. For this list, I'm going to separate it into four categories; "Veterans", "Newcomers", "Echo Fighters" (Which will contain both old and new Fighters), and "DLC Characters" (Which are mostly new. You'll see).
- Veterans: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr./Larry Koopa/Roy Koopa/Wendy O. Koopa/Iggy Koopa/Morton Koopa Jr./Lemmy Koopa/Ludwig Von Koopa, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K. Rool, Link, Zelda, Sheik, Samus/Zero Suit Samus (They would be fused back into one character, giving Zero Suit Samus back her old Final Smash from "Brawl", "Power Suit Samus"), Ridley, Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Fox, Falco, Wolf, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Captain Falcon, Ness, Lucas, Marth, Roy, Robin, Wario, Olimar, Villager, Isabelle, Little Mac, Duck Hunt, Inkling, Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Simon, Mii Brawler, Mii Swordfighter, Mii Gunner
- Newcomers: Geno, Dixie Kong, Ganon, A new Metroid character that's dependent on which Metroid game is the most recent at the time (Like maybe Metroid Prime 4?), Bandanna Waddle Dee, Peppy, Slippy, Leon, Alolan Pokemon Trainer (Brings back Incineroar and features the debuts of both Decidueye & Primarina. Incineroar's Down Special "Revenge" would be replaced with "Pokemon Change". The Trainers themselves would also get Alternate Costumes based off of their Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon appearances.), Deathborn, Ninten (He would use "4th-D Slip" as a Neutral Special instead of "PK Flash" or "PK Freeze" and "Healing" as a Down Special instead of "PSI Magnet"), two new Fire Emblem characters that're dependent on which Fire Emblem game is the most recent at the time (Both Major Protagonists), Waluigi (Before anyone questions why I would put Waluigi under the Wario series instead of the Super Mario Bros series, he has more to do with Wario even though he's never been in Wario's games), Ashley & Red, Alph (No longer an Alternate Costume, he would be an Independent Fighter that would specialize solely on Rock Pikmin), three new Xenoblade characters that're dependent on which Xenoblade game is the most recent at the time (Like maybe Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or Xenoblade Chronicles X2? Two of the characters would be Major Protagonists, while the third would be a Major Antagonist), Octoling, Excitebiker, Mach Rider (Both Excite & Mach would be Semi-Clones that borrowed moves from each other, but their playstyles would be wildly different), Isaac, Nintendog/Nintencat, Starfy, Sheriff (Would get a photo-realistic Rated M for Manly redesign and, since his home game doesn't have much material, his moveset would instead reference a bunch of Western Movies), Takamaru, Spring Man, Twintelle, Rhythm Heaven (It would be a team consisting of two Chorus Kids riding on Karate Joe's shoulders, and Marshal riding on his head. Their moveset would have them summon a ton of Rhythm Heaven characters.), Savvy Stylist, Chibi-Robo, Lip, Ryu Hayabusa, Rayman, Banjo-Kazooie, Mii Sorcerer, Mii Creature (Mii Creature would be a special kind of Mii Fighter that would be kind of weak at the start, but once it's damage reached 50%, it would transform into a hulking monster with a big stat boost. The options for the "Creature" form of Mii Creature would include Were-Animals and a Frankenstein's Monster-like form.)
- Echo Fighters: Dark Samus (For Samus/Zero Suit Samus), Dark Meta Knight (For Meta Knight), Igglybuff (For Jigglypuff), Black Shadow (For Captain Falcon), Classic Sonic (For Sonic), Roll (For Mega Man), Ms. Pac-Man (For Pac-Man), Ken, Sakura (Both for Ryu), Ricter (For Simon), Brittany, Charlie (Both for Alph), Matthew (For Isaac), Starly (For Starfy)
- DLC Characters: Lloyd, A new Yoshi character (While most would say either Poochy or Kamek, I'd rather want to see a new Villainous character. I hope Yoshi's Crafted World gets a new villain that isn't Kamek or Bowser.), A new The Legend of Zelda character that's dependent on which The Legend of Zelda game is the most recent at the time (Hero or Villain doesn't matter, they just have to be major), A new Pokémon character that's dependent on which Generation is upcoming at the time (That isn't a Starter or a Legendary, just a Common Pokemon), Terry Bogard (You would be given the option to play as the traditional Male version or the Female version from SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy), Ayumi Tachibana, Three Veterans (Similar to the "Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot", this game would have a "Smash Bros. Return Ballot", which would have fans vote for which Characters that didn't return they want to see come back, with the top three being released as the last DLC Characters along with a fourth. After they're released, a second "Smash Bros. Return Ballot" would be opened, this time letting fans vote for Characters that are in the game that they want to see again in the future (Barring the three DLC Veterans of course). Both ballots would be used as reference for the next Super Smash Bros. game.), Tabuu
Bowser Jr. & the Koopalings, King K. Rool, Ganon, the new Metroid character, Dark Meta Knight, Bandanna Waddle Dee, Wolf, Leon, Igglybuff, Black Shadow, Deathborn, Ninten, Robin, one of the two new Fire Emblem characters, Brittany, Charlie, Little Mac, Duck Hunt, the new Xenoblade Antagonist, Octoling, Mach Rider, Matthew, Twintelle, Chibi-Robo, Lip, Classic Sonic, Roll, Ms. Pac-Man, Sakura, and Ricter would all be Unlockable.
//
Okay, now I want to talk about Bosses. The idea I had for this Story Mode is something I call "Reprogram the World". A sequel to "World of Light", this story would have the Main Antagonist be Reprogram, a sentient computer program (Whose "physical" form would just be a jumbled bunch of code) who observed the war between Galeem and Dharkon, and tries to reprogram the world after their fall. To do this, Reprogram kidnaps Kirby and uses his data to create copies of the Star Warrior, subjugating the world to it's will. With it's power, it gathers multiple Bosses to lend it their aid, willfully joining in for their own agenda (With the exception of one, who's forced to work against their will). Not counting Master Hand & Crazy Hand, the bosses of "Reprogram the World" and by extension the game would be...
- Returning Bosses: Porky Minch, Galleom, Dracula, Rathalos, Marx
- New Bosses: King Boo, Vaati, Mother Brain, Primal Dialga, Grima, A Pikmin 4 boss, Egg Dragoon, Sigma, DJ Octavio, Chaos Chimera, Murasame, Gruntilda, Cybuster (Piloted by Masaki Andoh, he's been brainwashed by Dr. Eggman so that he can't help the heroes), Reprogram
Wow, I typed a lot more than I thought this was going to be. This was a lot of fun, though. Maybe I'll come back to this after all the DLC of Ultimate has fully released. So what do you guys think about this silly speculation of mine? I'm very curious to hear thoughts on my ideas for potential Newcomers.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Huh, just got a notification.
Looks like there'll be events for the spirit board that gets you extra gold if you meet requirements.
The upcoming one (no notice on when) is for spirits with glasses
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~Civia13th-14th apparently.
For people who want one of each this is a good way to make that happen for the ones you can enhance like Ocelot.
Honestly I totally do expect the next smash to be a complete reinvention of itself. I doubt the character roster could really be speculated on until we know who's relevant in half a decade (And with Joker, all bets are off anyways.) but I'm guessing they'll probably preen their third-party characters by then.
I think a big thing is they'll go back and redo everyone's movesets. Give Mario a cappy toss instead of the FLUDD, give Kirby a completely different set of abilities to reference (Hoping for that Ninja slash from Triple Deluxe for his dash attack.) and Samus her freeze beam at least.
The FE characters will probably be completely replaced IMO too. My guess is Lyndis and Edelgard, maybe a spear-wielder from Heroes to round out the trio?

Who is exactly forever set in the roster and unlikely to be cut?
Mario doesn't count. He is unlikely to ever be cut.
So are DK, Link, Kirby, Pikachu and Luigi
Uni catI feel like Captain Falcon is a forever man.
Originally Smash wasn't supposed to be a nintendo crossover. They switched it over mid-development when they only had the game's supposed protagonist ready... And that character morphed into Captain Falcon. He's always been the game's baseline. Or, rather, his moveset.
Honestly I think they'll just keep building off Ultimate's foundation forever. There's no way they'll ever be able to recapture the success again if they cut characters. I know I won't be nearly as interested if Lucina and Corrin get cut.
This song needs more love.Going forward I see the options being either building off Ultimate forever, completely rebuilding everything from the ground up, or doing a crazy Smash Bros X [Company] that can afford to have less characters by virtue of having half of the total count be chock full of new challengers from a totally different pool of characters.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Cough cough Capcom vs Nintendo cough cough
Uni catTo be honest it wouldn't surprise me if the hypothetical Capcom x Nintendo went the traditional fighting game route.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Oh there's no way they can keep building off Ultimate forever. As much fun as it is to have a roster this large it's clear that they'll eventually need to restructure things, since you can't add something in without comparing it to every feature that's already present. There are already some cracks in the armor; Chrom's playable to please his fans, but he still shows up in Robin's FS. Snake's in, but his codecs haven't been expanded. They're small details, but it's not something people would expect if this wasn't a jam-packed "Everyone is here" brouhaha.
Making deep cuts to the roster is something that will eventually have to happen (hell even paring down the roster to a merely immense 50 would still leave 24 characters out to dry) and hopefully offering a slew of newcomers can make up for it. Saying "Yeah, we had to get rid of Jigglypuff and Game and Watch. But here's Issac!" won't halt the blow but it could cushion it.
Geno's never gonna make it now though.

Cloud is the most likely 3rd party to get cut. I want to see if Square truly has something else for DLC in Smash
Uni catA recent interview Sakurai did has him (jokingly) saying that he could see a new game in 10 years. I'm personally not keen on speculating on a new game barely a week after the current one just came out.
I'm expecting them to keep working with Ultimate for a long time though (at the least, a year after the last DLC is released is when I think they'd stop being active with development and patches), and I honestly wouldn't expect a new game until Nintendo's next console is out.
Article quote:
We’ll be taking a more in-depth look at the interview soon (technically the latest Famitsu isn’t even out yet), but as usual, some tidbits have leaked out online early. Here’s a brief roundup:
– Development actually started around February of 2016
– Sakurai was aware of the Switch fairly early on and had been shown its design from the planning stages
– Sakurai didn’t really consider changing the layout based on what mode the game was played in
– The Switch’s LCD was a lot clearer than he had thought; there weren’t any problems even when in tabletop mode
– Changing the layout between the portable, tabletop, and docked modes meant the team’s work would have had to have been two-fold
– It was pretty important in the grand scheme of things that it ended up not being necessary
– On people struggling against the harder Spirits: “It’s important that your level should sufficiently match your opponent’s – your immediate goal should be to level up your Spirits as you fight, not trying to do it in one giant leap.”
– “Using King K. Rool’s stomach armor-based moves will grant him super armor. Taking too much damage will cause it to crack and leave him dazed, though.”
– Sakurai says that for online battles, it’d probably be best if you didn’t think too hard about how many wins and losses you have
– Even if you have access to both, he believes it’d be better to just look at how much you’ve won
– Sakurai will take another look at Elite Matches after some time has passed, when it’s a little more intense
– On the next Smash game: “It’d be fine if there wasn’t another one for about 10 years, don’t you think?” (laughs)
– Sakurai received something close to an order for a new Smash Bros. since the Switch was coming out – that was this game

@Last page: The Paz spirit making you start with a bomb equipped made me bust a gut laughing.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Strangelove!? I didn't realize she was a spirit! Oh you deserved so much better.
So this event is another example of mobile style gacha mechanics creeping in right?

I feel like a lot could be done with a Smash reboot. Like, they could rework the movesets of the original 12 to make them more in-line with their franchises are they are today, much how like they did to Link. Speaking of Link, I think it'd be neat if they made variation slots much like Mortal Kombat/Injustice. For example, when selecting Link, a small sub menu opens with 3 variations (Adult, Young, Toon). They could bring back some of the custom moves and even make some new ones to create these character variations. I could see it like this:
- Mario (Super, Doctor, Paper)
- Kirby (Classic, Yarn, Robobot)
- Link (Adult, Young, Toon)
- Donkey Kong (DKC, Classic, DK Jr.)
- Pikachu (Pikachu, Pichu, Raichu)
- Fox (Arwing, Landmaster, Staff)
- Samus (Power Suit, Zero Suit, Dark Samus)
- Yoshi (Island, Yarn, Craft)
And so on and so forth to whoever makes the roster.
... except they really didn't rework Link's moveset all that much to make him more in line with his more recent appearances.
Here are the other 4.
Luigi (Super, Mansion Hunter, Dreamy)
Ness (Healer, Smash, Tank)
Captain Falcon (Dragon, Racer, Hunter)
Jigglypuff (Jigglypuff, Igglybuff, Wigglytuff)
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.So...I have a question about World of Light. I'm not anywhere near finishing, but I've been spoiled a bit, and I've heard that there are two bad endings and one good ending. I have a sense of what I'll need to do to get the good ending, but I'm worried about what'll happen if I don't do it right. Are the bad endings treated like a Non-Standard Game Over, or do you actually have to redo all of World of Light to get another shot at it? I'm hoping it's the former, but I want to make sure I know before I get there.
if you do everything right to get the true ending, you can easily go back to get the other ones without ruining anything

Woow.
Does that leave room for a transformation extender?
I have a message from another time...
