Alliance of worlds is a Massive Multiplayer Crossover fanfic by author Stand_with_Ward_and_Queen.

The basic premise is that while trying to stop his spell in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Strange accidentally breaks the barriers between all realities. So now, not only those who know Peter Parker is Spider-Man end up coming to the MCU world, but also characters from various other fandoms.

The fandoms that show up in the story are- Marvel Cinematic Universe (particularly the Spider-Man: Homecoming Trilogy), Doctor Who, Merlin (2008), Buffyverse, X-Men Film Series, Teen Wolf, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Spider-Man Trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man Series.

Some other fandoms make cameos as well.

Tropes present in the story:

  • Action Girl: In the form of Willow Rosenberg.
  • Actor Allusion: When Logan first meets Gandalf, his first instinct is to try and attack the White Wizard due to whom he looks like.
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • The Doctor and The Great Intelligence are this to each other in the story.
    • Sauron can be considered one to the Middle-earth characters, especially Aragorn, since he is Isildur's heir.
    • Sahjhan is this to Angel, due to what his actions ended up doing to Wesley and especially Connor.
    • For Derek Hale, its definitely Kate Argent, considering what she did to his family.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: When Strange voices his opposition to trying to cure some of the Universe-hoppers, and says its their lives against the Multiverse, Gandalf asks him:
"Stephen Strange, when did you forsake your heart, your conscience?”
  • Adaptational Heroism: The only way to save the Multiverse is for The Doctor to bind with a benevolent version of the Phoenix Force.
  • Back from the Dead:
  • Beware the Nice Ones:
    • Gandalf is a nice, cheerful old man. But he is not someone you want to mess with either.
    • Peter Parker ends up having a murderous rage due to Green Goblin killing May.
  • Beyond Redemption: When asked if Kate Argent also has some problem that has made her insane, Scott McCall tells everyone that she looks the way she does because she is a Werejaguar, and she was an insane psychopath from the start. No cure is going to change that.
  • Big Badass Battle Sequence: The final battle between the heroes and villains is a huge one.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Glory is powerful, but not as powerful as she thinks she is. In the final battle, Willow is able to restrain her with a spell.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Gandalf appears when Peter and Merlin face Morgana on the bridge, and defeats her easily with his power.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Mainly for Peter and the Eleventh Doctor. The former continues to be the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but has lost Aunt May, and his loved ones do not remember him. While the latter does reunite with River Song, but has to say goodbye to Amy and Rory forever.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy:
    • Gandalf senses that Morgana is not herself, and Merlin realizes that Morgause cast a strong enchantment on her to turn her against everyone she loves. The enchantment is strong enough to hold even after Morgause has died.
    • Wanda Maximoff is being mind-controlled by a mind worm planted in the Darkhold by the Great Intelligence.
  • Call-Back:
    • When Peter and Scott McCall meet for the first time, his Spider-Sense reacts to Scott, finding him a threat, Scott remembering how the animals in Deaton's clinic had reacted to him after he'd first been bitten.
    • While trying to convince Strange to let them help some of the Universe-hoppers, Angel gives the same speech he had given to Connor in Deep Down.
    • The return of the Nogitsune causes several callbacks to the third Season of Teen Wolf, with Scott and Derek speaking of the Divine Move in 'Go' just like Ken Yukimura in the Season 3 finale. Its entrance is also a callback to when its Oni killed a receptionist in the hospital, and Scott defeats it the same way he had done before.
  • The Cameo:
  • Canon Welding: The Great Intelligence placed a mind worm in the Darkhold, and that managed to brainwash Wanda into working for it.
  • The Cavalry:
    • After the deaths of Gandalf and May, Merlin has a vision, and taking the hint it gives, manages to summon Derek Hale, Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli, Peter Parker-3 and Peter Parker-2 as some much needed backup.
    • In the final battle, The Doctor fused with the benevolent Phoenix Force arrives and helps in turning the tides.
  • The Chessmaster: The Great Intelligence is a very strategic villain, its tricks allowing it to get all the villains to work for it or with it, as it convinces all of them that it needs them, making sure they fight the heroes, giving it the time it needs.
  • The Chosen One: The only way to save the Multiverse is if a benevolent version of the Phoenix Force binds itself to The Doctor, the most fitting host who is capable of surviving the process.
  • Commonality Connection:
    • Peter and Scott McCall get along well due to being closer in age than the rest, also having superhuman senses as part of their powers that react to each other. Scott even helps Peter name his 'tingle' as the 'Spider-Sense', saying that's what Stiles would have called it.
    • Aragorn and Arthur bond over being leaders and exceptional swordsmen.
    • Logan tells Erik Lensherr about his past, and how he lost everything and even his memories of it, letting Erik know that they are no different and he understands how he feels. This snaps Erik back to his senses.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Morgana is unable to face the power of Gandalf, who defeats her easily, with some help from Merlin and Peter.
    • A while later, Dr. Octopus is easily defeated by Gandalf, Merlin and Peter too.
    • Later, a mind-controlled Wanda ends up defeating Gandalf and disintegrating him.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Gandalf is defeated and disintegrated by a mind-controlled Wanda.
    • Wong and half of the Masters of the Mystic Arts are ambushed and killed by the Daleks.
  • Demoted to Extra: MJ's and Ned's role from the movie is reduced by a lot.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Peter and Strange didn't when they tried such a powerful spell.
  • The Dreaded: Sauron is the most powerful foe faced in battle, and all of the heroes combined are unable to beat him. Aragorn actually tells Arthur that a hundred Morganas together do not come close to matching the power and evil of Sauron.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: The Great Intelligence ends up taking a physical form, which resembles Gandalf, making it the White Wizard's evil doppelganger.
  • Forced to Watch: Merlin can do nothing but watch helplessly as the mind-controlled Wanda kills Gandalf.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Merlin has many visions of The Doctor surrounded by flames and speaking cyptically. Its later revealed that the only way to save the Multiverse is for The Doctor to bond with the Phoenix Force.
    • One such vision has The Doctor tell Merlin that he needs five more, those being the wolf, the Elf, the Dwarf and two spiders.. Minutes later, he mulls over what the vision said and ends up summoning Derek Hale, Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli, Peter Parker-3 and Peter Parker-2.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Sauron is the most powerful enemy faced in combat, the heroes together struggling to do much to him.
  • Good Feels Good: The Doctor is still broken up by the loss of Amy and Rory, but helping Peter in curing some of the Universe-hoppers reminds him why he is doing this. He helps people, and he likes it.
  • Happy Ending: For most of the heroes. Angel has Cordelia back and both are raising Connor together, Willow has Tara back, Monroe is no longer a threat to Scott's pack, Merlin, Arthur and a sane Morgana are back in Camelot where their other loved ones are alive too, all three vowing to do better now, Jack Harkness has his loved ones back too, Peter-2 has Harry back and Peter-3 has Gwen Stacy back as well. All of this because of the new Multiverse.
  • Heel–Face Turn:
    • The moment the spell on Morgana is broken, she turns against the villains immediately.
    • Logan manages to get through to Erik, and he ends up fighting the villains as well.
    • The Doctor manages to destroy the mind worm in Wanda's head, and she helps him in saving the Multiverse.
  • Heartbroken Badass:
    • The Doctor has lost Amy and Rory very recently, and is still torn up over it, almost finding everything meaningless until he starts helping Peter in curing the Universe-hoppers.
    • Peter-3 is haunted by his failure to save Gwen.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: A dying Jack Harkness does a suicidal blast to kill many Orcs, almost dying himself.
  • Hope Spot: Gandalf starts using his power to free Morgana of Morgause's spell, and it seems to be working as well, but then the villains decide to crash the party.
  • In Spite of a Nail: In spite of the added heroes, May Parker still ends up dying, as does Gandalf. But to be fair, there were many more villains as well.
  • Karma Houdini: Averted; while Wong did not cast the forget spell, he was the Sorcerer Supreme and should have stopped Strange, or at least overseen the whole thing, but he decided to stay out of it, and for that, Merlin calls him out as well.
  • Killed Off for Real: Gandalf is disintegrated by a mind-controlled Wanda while May Parker is impaled by the Green Goblin's glider. Wong and half of the Mystics also get killed by the Daleks.
  • The Man Behind the Man: The Great Intelligence is responsible for Wanda's brainwashing.
  • Manipulative Bastard: The Great Intelligence manages to make all the heroes run in circles while using the villains for its own agenda.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: That's the premise of this story, being a crossover between Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, Merlin (2008), Buffyverse, X-Men Film Series, Teen Wolf, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Spider-Man Trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man Series.
  • The Mentor: Gandalf, due to his age, wisdom, power and experience, takes on this role for the other heroes.
  • The Multiverse: It features in this story, and its what needs saving too.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Morgana, Norman and Wanda all have such a response on being brought back to normal, with Wanda almost throwing up on remembering that she killed Gandalf.
  • My Greatest Second Chance:
    • With the return of Morgana, Merlin vows that he will not fail fail her this time, and he stays true to his word.
    • Peter-3 redeems himself for his failure to save Gwen Stacy by saving Morgana, who has just been brought back to normal. He wonders if this counts for something, and a voice like Gwen's in his head tells him that it counts for everything.
  • Mythology Gag: When The Doctor introduces himself to Logan and Norman Osborn, both ask him- "Doctor who?"
  • Near-Death Experience:
    • Ned and MJ have one after the Oni wounds them and they start dying.
    • The wounds inflicted by the Oni affect even Jack Harkness, who begins dying, and almost dies when he does a Heroic Sacrifice.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Peter and Strange messing up the spell is what causes the Multiverse to be endangered in the first place. And Wong is also at fault for not stopping or overseeing them.
  • Not Too Dead to Save the Day: Even though he has died, Gandalf's spirit shows up when the Guardians of the Multiverse are trying to convince The Doctor to bond with the Phoenix Force, and his words finally convince the man of science to have some faith.
  • Red Herring:
    • When Wanda is first shown, an unseen voice is commanding her. Since her powers are based in Chaos Magic, it could be assumed at first that this is Chthon. Instead, it turns out to be the Great Intelligence.
    • After his Heroic Sacrifice, Jack seems to have died due to the wound inflicted upon him by the Oni. But he is revealed to have survived later.
  • Red Skies Crossover: The worlds of Smallville, Star Wars and Charmed (1998) make cameos in which characters from these franchises see the purple sky.
  • The Reveal: Merlin finally reveals about his magic to Arthur, who feels betrayed at first but later comes around.
  • Revisiting the Roots: When all is said and done, Peter tells Strange he will stick to the neighborhood now, as he is not obsessed with being an Avenger or Tony Stark's successor anymore.
  • Shout-Out: While battling Kate Argent, Derek Hale asks her what Allison looks like in her delusions, as he remembers her being kind and forgiving.
  • Small Role, Big Impact:
    • Stiles only has two cameos alongside Lydia, and doesn't even participate in the main plot. But he is indirectly responsible for Peter's 'tingle' getting its proper name, that being 'Spider-Sense', as Scott tells Peter that's what Stiles would have called it.
    • The Guardians of the Multiverse appear only once, but they are the ones who convince The Doctor to bond with the Phoenix Force, allowing him to save the Multiverse.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In the new Multiverse, various deceased characters from most of the fandoms are back to life.
  • Staring Down Cthulhu: In spite of how ridiculously outmatched he is, Arthur still battles against Sauron fearlessly.
  • Take Up My Sword: Arthur's arm is broken by Sauron, so he hands Excalibur over to Aragorn to finish the fight.
  • Time Travel: Logan mentions that he has time-travelled once.
  • Took a Level in Badass: The Doctor bonds with the Phoenix Force, saving the Multiverse, and retains the power even after that.
  • Tragic Villain: Erik Lensherr is on the villains' side as he is broken up by the loss of his wife and daughter.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Peter Parker ends up having such a case after the Green Goblin kills May.
  • Villain Team-Up: The villains are all brought together by the Great Intelligence to battle the heroes and help it in reshaping the Multiverse.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Merlin calls out Peter, Strange as well as Wong for the mess with the spell that dragged everyone into this world and endangered the Multiverse.
