MyGO!!!!!

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mygo_logo.png
"Even if we lose our way, we keep on moving."

An alternative Punk Rock band born from the synchronization of "reality" and "virtual". It consists of Tomori Takamatsu on vocals, Anon Chihaya and Rāna Kaname on guitars, Soyo Nagasaki on bass, and Taki Shiina on drums. The band members were initially unknown and hid their faces on stage, only revealing their identities at their fourth concert. At the same time, two new spin-off anime starring them, titled Daily Life of MyGO!!!!! Members, a series of shorts which was uploaded on MyGO!!!!!'s Official YouTube website, and an anime TV show titled BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! was announced for the Summer 2023 season.

    General
  • Color-Coded Characters: The band is associated as a group with medium light blue.
    • Tomori: Light blue
    • Anon: Pink
    • Rāna: Light Green
    • Soyo: Pale yellow
    • Taki: Lavender
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: To Poppin'Party. Unlike their predecessor who were composed of female students from a single school, the MyGO!!!!! members are composed of students from 3 prominent schools within the BanG Dream! universe. Poppin'Party has a bright, colorful aesthetic and cheerful, energetic songs, while MyGO's songs and aesthetic are more melancholic.
  • Darker and Edgier: Their lyrics lean more towards the melancholic side compared to the other bands, and their story deals with heavier subject matter such as depression, past trauma, and divorce.
  • Dysfunction Junction: All of them grapple with some serious personal issues.
    • Tomori is painfully shy, has difficulty speaking up, and struggled to make friends before meeting Sakiko, and she blames herself for the disbandment of CRYCHIC to the point of depression until she meets Anon.
    • Despite Anon's cheerful and sociable personality, she had no friends in middle school due to everyone placing her on a pedestal as the Student Council President, and even when she tried to restart by studying abroad in the UK, she still felt distanced due to the language barrier as well as everyone referring to her as "Ann," a nickname she wasn't comfortable with.
    • Calling Soyo's life difficult is putting it mildly. Her parents divorced when she was young and she moved out with her mother, though she spent most of her time alone due to her mother being busy with work. This would eventually cause her to develop serious abandonment issues that are only made worse by CRYCHIC's sudden disbandment. Unable to move on from the past, she only puts up the facade of a gentle Team Mom to ensure that Tomori and Taki would stay with her, but she fails to convince Sakiko to rejoin the band and ultimately betrays MyGO!!!!!.
    • Taki isn't saddled with as much trauma, but she has No Social Skills, which leads to her coming off as antisocial and rude, and she's the most confrontational and short-tempered of the group. She is also heavily implied to have an inferiority complex, especially when it comes to her composing skills, usually comparing herself to Sakiko or her older sister.
    • Even Rāna isn't completely immune from this trope despite not grappling with things like past traumas, insecurities, or personality issues: Episode 11 reveals that after SPACE shut down, she felt like she lost the place where she belonged and thus started practicing with other bands at RiNG in order to fill the void, but none of them stuck with her due to her quickly losing interest in them until she met the former CRYCHIC members and Anon, leading to the formation of MyGO!!!!!.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble:
    • Tomori is Melancholic.
    • Anon is Sanguine.
    • Rāna is Phlegmatic.
    • Soyo is Phlegmatic.
    • Taki is Choleric.
  • Motifs: Their band symbol is a compass, which represents how the members often find themselves losing their way and wandering around aimlessly, yet they continue to persist nevertheless. Their band name being a play on "maigo," which literally translates to "lost child," only adds to the symbolism.
  • Punny Name: MyGO!!!!! is a play on the word "maigo," which translates to "lost child."
  • Putting the Band Back Together: The band falls apart after Soyo stops showing up to practice and eventually betrays MyGO!!!!! altogether, revealing to Taki that everything she did to help the band was all leverage to reform CRYCHIC and she didn't actually tolerate Anon and Rāna's presence, and upon being notified of this revelation, Anon quits the band. This, combined with Rāna being a Wild Card who only shows up to practice whenever she feels like it, leaves Tomori and Taki as the only remaining members, and Episode 10 is devoted to their gradual efforts to reunite the band.

    Tomori Takamatsu

Tomori Takamatsu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tomori_gbp.png
Voiced by: Hina Yomiya (Japanese)
Birthday: November 22 (Scorpio)
School: Haneoka Girls' High School
Year: 1st (Season 3)

The vocalist and lyricist of MyGO!!!!!. An introverted girl with a reputation as "Haneoka's Weirdo Girl," Tomori is painfully shy, has poor self-esteem, and struggles to speak her mind, preferring to convey her feelings in the form of lyrics. She enjoys collecting various objects, ranging from band-aids, to notebooks, to whatever she finds on the ground.
  • All-Loving Hero: A more subtle one compared to Kokoro. Despite her socially-awkward nature, she truly cares for her friends in the band and tries to reach out for them despite any wrongdoings they may have committed, and even after it's revealed that Soyo manipulated her bandmates for her own selfish whims, Tomori still forgives her.
  • Collector of the Strange: She likes to collect band-aids, stones, notebooks, slippery things, and "just-the-right-size" things.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: To both Kasumi Toyama and Mashiro Kurata:
    • Unlike Kasumi, an outgoing Genki Girl who leads Poppin'Party and stays optimistic in the face of setbacks, Tomori is a reserved Shrinking Violet who is prone to losing hope and saddling blame during hardships.
    • Both Tomori and Mashiro are their respective band's vocalists and lyricists who are shy and reserved. However, while Mashiro tends to blame others for her shortcomings, Tomori often blames herself for her own shortcomings instead.
  • Expy: Of Ren Nanahoshi, both are vocalists who are Shrinking Violets with autistic traits. That being said, Ren has a strong inner fire in spite of his shy personality, whereas Tomori starts off with significantly less confidence, often blaming herself for conflicts to the point of tears.
  • Interrupted Suicide: Subverted. Wanting to catch a falling sakura blossom with no actual intention of killing herself, Tomori almost falls off a bridge but is saved by Sakiko, who mistakes the ordeal as her attempting to commit suicide and tries to talk her into continuing to live.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for the disbandment of CRYCHIC, citing her Performance Anxiety as the primary reason. Her saddling the blame for their disbandment leads to her being depressed in the present day, as well as her being extremely reluctant to join a band again. When MyGO!!!!! disbands later in the season as a result of Soyo's selfishness, she blames herself for being unable to speak up and keep the band together.
  • Morality Pet: Serves as this to Taki, being one of the only people she's openly nice to and someone she can't bring herself to be angry with.
  • Performance Anxiety: Since getting started with bands, Tomori has been saddled with crippling stage fright, culminating in MyGO!!!!!'s debut which Sakiko and Mutsumi attend. Tomori's singing starts off as barely a whisper, before finding the courage to reach her full volume and intensity a few verses in.
  • Shrinking Violet: While no doubt possessing a powerful singing voice, Tomori has always been extremely quiet, shy and reserved, spending time by herself in the Astronomy Club room or wandering around collecting strange things. After CRYCHIC broke up, her burgeoning confidence took another dive before meeting Anon and joining MyGO!!!!!.
  • Situational Sociability: She's normally very introverted and prefers to keep to herself, but she's a lot more talkative and excitable when talking about her favorite animals or things she enjoys collecting.
  • Trauma Button: The day of CRYCHIC's sudden disbandment serves as a major source of trauma for her, and it gets reawakened when the revelation of Soyo's betrayal leads to Anon walking out of practice and quitting MyGO!!!!!, leaving her and Taki behind. Having experienced the dissolution of a band once again, Tomori falls to her knees and is left in tears.
    Anon Chihaya

Anon Chihaya

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anon_gbp.png
Voiced by: Rin Tateishi (Japanese)
Birthday: September 8 (Virgo)
School: Haneoka Girls' High School
Year: 1st (Season 3)

The rhythm guitarist of MyGO!!!!!. A social and assertive girl who used to be the Student Council President in middle school, though she was left unsatisfied with her honor student reputation and transferred to Haneoka in hopes of getting a fresh start. With high school girl bands on the rise, she approaches Tomori (who is in the same class as her) and tries to start a band with her.
  • Attention Whore: She occasionally shows shades of this, and it's implied to be as a result of her being Lonely Among People in middle school.
    • She strongly insists on being on vocals and guitar should she join a band, and once four of the five members of MyGO!!!!! are assembled she still stands by this. When Taki insists that Tomori is the vocalist, Anon is still adamant about being front and center and tries to think of ways to keep that position.
    • She gets annoyed when her classmates bombard Tomori with questions regarding their new band, but ignore Anon herself despite Anon being the more social of the two by far.
    • When Soyo prompts the girls to come up with potential band names, all of Anon’s suggestions are wordplays on her name, and when Taki objects she scrambles to find ways to incorporate everyone else's names into the band name.
  • Cute Little Fang: Has a small singular fang as part of her design, which adds some cuteness to her already likeable and social character.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: When Anon’s classmates overhear that she’s in a band with Tomori, she anticipates the attention to go to her, but her classmates end up flocking to Tomori instead, much to Anon’s chagrin.
  • Egocentric Team Naming: When deciding on band names, all of Anon’s suggestions ("Unknown", "Anone", and "Annoimo") are wordplays on her first name, which Taki calls her out on.
  • The Gadfly: Acts this way towards Taki and later Soyo, often pressing their buttons in a teasing manner to elicit reactions out of them.
  • Jerkass to One: Anon is a friendly girl through and through, but she’s much more hostile towards Taki due to a misunderstanding where Taki told her off for chasing after Tomori, and even after it gets cleared up they still struggle to get along at first, though it's not entirely unwarranted on Anon's part due to Taki’s blunt, antisocial nature.
  • Last-Name Basis: In middle school, she was only ever referred to with her last name. Even when she attended school in England, things weren't exactly better for her since she wasn't comfortable with everyone referring to her as "Ann." Upon meeting and befriending a trio of girls in her class, she insists on being on a First-Name Basis as a result of the aforementioned experience.
  • Lonely Among People: Despite being the Student Council President in middle school and having a sociable personality, she had trouble making friends due to people placing her on a pedestal, only discussing academic matters with her, and only referring to her by her last name.
  • The Nicknamer: Begins calling Taki "Rikki", Soyo "Soyorin", and Tomori "Tomorin" midway throughout the season.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: She spends most of Episode 10 in a significantly more bitter mood than usual, repeatedly avoiding Tomori when she attempts to convince her to rejoin MyGO, which shows just how badly she was affected by the revelation that Soyo didn't actually tolerate her presence and only saw her as expendable leverage to reform CRYCHIC.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: A friendly and upbeat girl with light pink hair.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: After learning that everything Soyo did was for her own ulterior motive to reform CRYCHIC and she only saw her and Rāna as expendable leverage to further achieve this, Anon walks out of practice and quits MyGO. When Tomori tries to convince her to rejoin the band in the following episode, Anon runs away and is chased up to the rooftop, stubbornly refusing to rejoin until Tomori brings up how all of the members were struggling as a result of feeling lost.
  • Secretly Selfish: Upon being confronted by Tomori to rejoin the band in Episode 10, Anon admits that she only tried to join a band with the intent of making herself look good, but Rāna's higher skill level only added fuel to her insecurities regarding her guitar skills.
  • Ship Tease: The centre of much of this. From holding hands and going on two aquarium dates with Tomori, stroking Soyo's hair and giving her a cute nickname, to her interactions with "Rikki"... The latter extends even outside of the show with her asking Taki to call her cute in a live action concert.
  • Student Council President: Was this in middle school.
  • Supporting Protagonist: While Tomori is the vocalist of MyGO and the face of the band overall, much of the story's first half (both in the anime and in the mobile game) revolves around Anon as she tries to get a fresh start in high school and start a band while simultaneously getting roped into drama revolving around the former CRYCHIC members.
  • Trauma Button: Upon running away from Taki after being on the receiving end of a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, Anon runs into her peers from middle school who bombard her with questions regarding her studying abroad in the UK. However, with everyone in middle school placing Anon on a pedestal and expecting her to do well studying abroad when in reality the experience was less than ideal, the stress is enough to trigger an anxiety attack. A flashback in the same episode reveals that she fumbled her self-introduction and also felt distanced from her peers due to English being a secondary language for her as well as everyone calling her "Ann" and not her actual name.
    Rāna Kaname

Rāna Kaname

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rana_gbp.png
Voiced by: Hina Aoki (Japanese)
Birthday: February 22 (Pisces)
School: Hanasakigawa Girls' Junior High School
Year: 3rd Junior (Season 3)

The lead guitarist of MyGO!!!!!. Rāna is eccentric and carefree in nature, preferring to do things at her own pace and gaining a reputation as "RiNG's stray cat," but she's an excellent guitarist nevertheless. She is the granddaughter of Shifune Tsuzuki, the former owner of the SPACE livehouse.
  • Animal Motifs: Cats. Not only does she have a fondness for them, she has heterochromia, tends to make cat smiles as part of her carefree demeanor, and the other girls call her a "stray cat."
  • The Baby of the Bunch: She was only a 3rd-year junior high schooler by the time she joined the band, making her the youngest of the band just like CHU2 and PAREO.
  • Big Eater: She has a big appetite, especially when it comes Matcha-flavored foods, and regularly wolfs down large parfaits at the RiNG cafe.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Much like Hina, Rāna is a lot more skilled at the guitar than one might expect with her overly laid-back nature, being able to instantly memorize guitar tabs with one look at the sheet music.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: She has a whimsical personality and is often lost in her own little world, only showing up to band practice whenever she feels like it and being prone to unexpectedly leaving with no warning, and her primary reason for joining MyGO!!!!! is because she finds Tomori to be an "interesting woman."
  • Expy Coexistence: She has a lot in common with Moca Aoba, namely her carefree and laidback nature, drawn-out way of speaking, and Big Eater tendencies. That being said, Rāna talks much less and lacks Moca's sly streak.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She’s overly carefree in nature and prefers to do things at her own pace, though a lot of her actions such as not showing up to practice or suddenly leaving whenever she feels like it are done without warning or explanation, which more often than not frazzles the other girls. This gets Played for Drama when she starts playing "Haruhikage" during MyGO!!!!!'s first gig out of the blue, completely unaware that not only were they not intending on playing the song, it has heavy ties to CRYCHIC and thus serves as a major source of grief for Soyo and Sakiko.
  • Introverted Cat Person: Much like Yukina, she loves to play with cats.
  • Instant Expert: She can easily memorize and play songs just by looking at the sheet music.
  • It Runs in the Family: In episode 11, it's revealed that she is the granddaughter of Shifune Tsuzuki of MiraculousScarlet, and she's also a talented guitarist just like her grandmother.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: She's the sole member of MyGO!!!!! who isn't involved in the CRYCHIC drama to some degree; with Tomori, Soyo, and Taki being former members of the band and Anon initially clashing with Taki over a misunderstanding regarding Tomori running away from her. This is easily justified due to her being a later addition to the band, but this ends up working against the band's favor when she suddenly plays "Haruhikage" during MyGO!!!!!'s first gig, unaware of the ties the song has to CRYCHIC and how heavily it affects both Soyo and Sakiko.
  • Mellow Fellow: Much like Moca before her, she’s very laidback in nature and prefers to march to the beat of her own drum.
  • The Quiet One: She doesn't talk much, and even when she does it's very minimal and vague. Usually, the most you get for her speaking more than being very minimal and vague is whenever she sings, and even then, since she's not the vocalist, it still takes a small amount.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: She loves Matcha-flavored things, and while it's not as emphasized as much, she loves soba as well.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Despite being the only member of MyGO!!!!! who isn’t involved in the CRYCHIC drama whatsoever, she inadvertently kicks off the primary conflict of the anime’s latter half when she unexpectedly starts playing “Haruhikage” during the band’s first gig, which heavily upsets Sakiko to the point of tears and leads to her running out of the venue, and after the gig Soyo lashes out at the others for playing the song despite promising not to do so, which eventually culminates in her and Anon quitting the band. That being said, the narrative doesn't bring this up and she isn't given any grief by the other characters.
  • Wild Card: She used to play for several bands in the past, but none of them stuck with her due to her quickly losing interest until she encountered MyGO!!!!!, abruptly joining the band because she finds Tomori to be an "interesting woman." However, she only shows up to practice whenever she feels like it and will also suddenly leave at random, which makes her dedication to the band rather unpredictable.
    Soyo Nagasaki (Unmarked Spoilers)

Soyo Nagasaki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soyo_gbp.png
Voiced by: Mika Kohinata (Japanese)
Birthday: May 27 (Gemini)
School: Tsukinomori Girls' Academy
Year: 1st (Season 3)
The bassist of MyGO!!!!!. Soyo seems kind, mature, and motherly at a glance, though in reality she struggles with abandonment issues and letting go of the past, and her true personality is a lot more bitter. She is a member of Tsukinomori's brass band, playing the double bass.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Despite her sincere apologies to Sakiko for inadvertently hurting her by playing "Haruhikage" during MyGO!!!!!'s first gig and pleas for her to reform CRYCHIC, Sakiko refuses to budge, which leads to Soyo throwing out her dignity by screaming, crying, grabbing Sakiko's hand, and falling to her knees while begging for her to stay and claiming that she'll do anything for her, which leads to Sakiko questioning her resolve.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Puts on a sweet exterior, arguably even giving off motherly vibes to the rest of the band, before it is revealed it was only an act to get CRYCHIC back together and she's significantly more bitter otherwise.
  • Character Tic: When talking about emotionally-sensitive things, Soyo tends to fidget with and caress the first digit of her thumb and index finger.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: To Saaya Yamabuki and Lisa Imai.
    • Saaya and Soyo serve as the Team Mom for their respective bands, have similar hair/eye colors, and have yellow as their image colors. However, Saaya quit her former band due to her struggling to balance her responsibilites as the Team Mom and not wanting to burden her bandmates and family, and as a result she's initially very reluctant to join Poppin'Party. Meanwhile, Soyo is unable to move on from CRYCHIC's premature disbandment and puts on a motherly facade towards the rest of MyGO!!!!! in an attempt to reform the band at the expense of Anon and Rāna. Saaya's kindness is unconditional but she struggles to carry the burdens of everyone she tries to help and thus worries that she can't make all of them happy, whereas Soyo's motherly nature is an act and her true personality is significantly more bitter, and when she ultimately fails to convince Sakiko and Mutsumi to rejoin CRYCHIC, she drops the act around her bandmates and ends up betraying them, willingly admitting that she lied about her promise to Tomori and that she didn't actually want Anon and Rāna in the band.
    • Soyo and Lisa play the bass guitar of their respective bands and have motherly personalities, though Lisa is The Heart of Roselia and serves as a prime benefactor for bringing them back together after their fallout in Roselia's first band story, while Soyo's selfish nature led to her betraying MyGO in Episode 9, which in turn led to them temporarily disbanding.
  • Fatal Flaw: Her inability to move on from the past, which is one of the key factors in her causing a rift within MyGO!!!!! after they perform an old song from her old band, CRYCHIC. Sakiko calls her out on this when Soyo attempts to convince her to reform CRYCHIC, only to be harshly rejected.
  • Hates Being Alone: Serves as her Freudian Excuse. She has abandonment issues as a result of her parents divorcing and her mother not being around often due to work, and they end up getting pushed to the front line when Sakiko disbands CRYCHIC, which leads to her using her bandmates as leverage to further her goal of reuniting her former band.
  • I Lied: In Episode 9, Taki confronts her for ignoring and silently quitting the band despite promising Tomori that she would stay in MyGO!!!!! for the rest of her life. She reveals that she only kept the promise to ensure Tomori and Taki would stay with her in order to reform CRYCHIC.
  • Interim Villain: Serves as this throughout episodes 9 and 10 of the anime, betraying MyGO after failing to achieve her goal of reforming CRYCHIC, willingly admitting that her Team Mom nature was a farce, and outright stating that she never wanted Anon and Rāna as band members and viewed them as stepping stones towards her ulterior motives, all of which leads to the band falling apart.
  • Nom de Mom: She was originally born as Soyo Ichinose before she adopted her mother's family name after she and her mother moved out from her father for unknown reasons during her middle school days.
  • Please, I Will Do Anything!: In spite of her apologies and pleas for Sakiko to reform CRYCHIC, Sakiko adamantly refuses to change her mind, which leads to Soyo outright begging, yelling, grabbing her hand and falling to her knees in a desperate, but futile attempt to keep convincing her, and she outright states that she'll do anything if it's in her power. Even then, Sakiko still refuses to comply and questions if she has any resolve for throwing out her dignity like this.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: After MyGO!!!!! inadvertently plays "Haruhikage" during their first gig, Soyo's desperation to reform CRYCHIC only increases, but Sakiko and Mutsumi coldly refuse her offer. Having failed to achieve her goal, Soyo stops seeing the need to be a part of MyGO!!!!! and silently quits the band in Episode 9.
  • Secretly Selfish: She welcomed Anon and Rāna's involvement in the band at first, but in retrospect can be seen showing disapproval towards them being a part of MyGO!!!!!, and it's eventually revealed that she only tolerated them for her own desires for CRYCHIC to get back together and otherwise saw them as unneeded leverage.
  • Team Mom: Subverted in that she only acted this way for the purpose of reviving CRYCHIC, only tolerating Anon and Rāna because she thought they would be useful for her to achieve this goal and otherwise seeing them as unnecessary.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Soyo's kindhearted personality used to be genuine until Sakiko unexpectedly disbanded CRYCHIC, and this combined with her abandonment issues caused by her parents' divorce led to her becoming increasingly more bitter, to the point where she freely admits to Taki that she lied about her promise to stay in MyGO!!!!! and didn't actually want Anon and Rāna as band members.
  • Walking Spoiler: Several tropes regarding her revolve around her Bitch in Sheep's Clothing nature and betraying MyGO!!!!!, and it's thus difficult to discuss her without spoiling this reveal.
  • Was It All a Lie?: She’s on the receiving end of this from Taki when she reveals that her Team Mom nature and constant attempts to keep the band together were just a farce to reform CRYCHIC, in addition to her not caring about Anon and Raana at all, particularly only being nice to Anon because she thought she was useful.
    Taki Shiina

Taki Shiina

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taki_gbp.png
Voiced by: Coco Hayashi (Japanese)
Birthday: August 9 (Leo)
School: Hanasakigawa Girls' High School
Year: 1st (Season 3)

The drummer and composer of MyGO!!!!!. Taki is an antisocial and confrontational girl with a sharp tongue, though she's not a bad person at heart and heavily cares for Tomori's wellbeing. She has a sister named Maki who's five years older than her, and she also works a part-time customer service job at RiNG.
  • Berserk Button: Do not emotionally hurt Tomori in any way. In the first episode alone, she confronts Anon for chasing after her and asking her to form a band in spite of Tomori's trauma regarding CRYCHIC's disbandment, and she nearly gets physical with Soyo when she reveals that she lied about her promise to stay in MyGO!!!!!, grabbing her collar for dismissing the pain Tomori went through to keep the band going and willingly betraying them.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Pandas are her favorite animal, and she enjoys collecting panda-themed merchandise, though she's self-conscious about it due to her otherwise abrasive nature.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Starting in the 4th episode, Anon begins to call her "Rikki" due it being an Alternate Character Reading of the kanji in her first name, and it’s a nickname she’s less than fond of, particularly due to Anon using it in a slightly teasing manner.
  • Fangirl: She's a big fan of Afterglow and behaves much more politely around them when they fill in for an empty slot during their gig.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Also doubles as a "The Reason You Suck" Speech. In Episode 5, Anon speaks against the idea of playing a gig with the claim that Tomori doesn't want to, in addition to being underprepared, but Taki argues back, accusing Anon of trying to get out of playing shows due to her insecurity over her guitar skills, what with her making up excuses to avoid practicing and only taking the band seriously when discussing the positions and name. Her final argument is that Anon has been running away from her issues the whole time, and is quickly proven right when she does just that out of frustration, in addition to her getting defensive as Taki points out her flaws. Anon herself even admits that everything Taki said was right on the money upon calming down.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Taki is easily one of the least outwardly friendly girls in the franchise, even when compared to pre-Character Development Yukina, Sayo, Rui and CHU2: she’s antisocial, cold, confrontational, and blunt to the point of saying rude things, but these traits mostly stem from bitterness over CRYCHIC's untimely disbandment as well as her genuinely protective nature towards Tomori, who's one of the only people she's consistently nice to and someone she can't bring herself to be angry with. She's also genuinely furious with Soyo when she drops her motherly act and reveals that she lied about her promise to Tomori and only saw Anon and Rāna as leverage to further her goal of reforming CRYCHIC.
  • No Social Skills: She doesn't mince words to the point of coming off as rude and has a tendency to glare at people. What doesn't help matters is that she has a part-time customer service job at RinG, so her antisocial nature doesn't exactly make her fit for the role.
  • Pet the Dog: Tomori is one of the very few people she's openly nice to, as she considers her an important person because her songs resonated with her. She's very protective of Tomori as a result.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Gives one to Anon in Episode 5, calling her out for her repeatedly making up excuses to get out of practice and avoid performing gigs and overall not taking the band seriously.
"What is it with you?! You've been acting as if it's for Tomori, but you just don't want to do it, right? Tomori's worry is that the band would be over if we do a live gig. You're just running away, aren't you? You're running away from the guitar. You can't play the guitar, right? You always make excuses so you don't practice. You only get serious when talking about band positions, band name, or even that G and F chord thingy. If we don't decide on the live gig, I know you will run away. Because that's what you've been doing all this time."
  • Tsundere: Due to resentment over how CRYCHIC broke up as well as being extremely protective of Tomori, Taki maintains a cold, distant and standoffish demeanor. She instantly tells Anon to back off when the latter was talking to Tomori and even after the misunderstanding was cleared up Taki continues to curtly hold Anon at arm's length. As the show goes on, it is revealed that Taki acts this way because she is extremely passionate about her friendships, particularly with Tomori, with whom she declares she could never be angry with.
  • Tsurime Eyes: The way her eye expression goes with this vibe due to her being the most serious among the group.
