[up] Plegia appearing in the depths of Egypt has made the political climate there rather more tense, though the Egyptian government has two allies in the forms of Ylisstol (which ended up in England) and Regna Ferox (in Russia and Mongolia).

Since Convergence, Havelock Vetenari has been elected the Mayor of London-Ankh-Morpork. Commander Vimes has also been appointed Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, much to his dismay at earning yet another title. These two appointments have reduced the crime rate in London to its lowest point in 400 years, despite the chaos of convergence and the fact that damn near every Artful Dodger type character in existence is now contained within 600 or so square miles.

After being about as useful as tits on a snake for the past (Insert time after convergence here), the various British sci-fi Government Agency of Fiction s have re-organised and adapted to Britain's new state as fantasy capital of the universe, often working in conjunction with or being absorbed by the Hellsing Organization. The ARC, for example, is now the division of Hellsing devoted to the discovery, research and containment of Zones of Convergence and UNIT has now been retooled as the UK's Anti-Sci-Fi Defence Force. However, UNIT lost most of its personnel to XCOM and other Sci-Fi based GA Fs and is currently considered a bit of a white elephant because of its Crippling Overspecialization. Torchwood does not exist. There has never been an organisation with that name. Where did you hear that name? What do you think you know about it?

(Sorry if this messes anything up Maple, I just didn't want to see all those great UK Sci-Fi orgs get sidelined.)

Katorga-12 has appeared off the Russian coast; the Supercommies and Regna Ferox are currently fighting over the area. Mutants and the fact that the island is a Zone of Exclusion make it a hard battle for both sides, however, the E-99 goodies scattered around make it worthwhile

[up][up] It doesn't mess up anything at all. In fact, I like it a lot better than, those other agencies being now-useless relics that the UK government just still kept around to be polite. wink

(And now I want to put the phrase, "as useful as tits on a snake" in the story somewhere...)

And the biggest state in the US, Alaska was fused with a war-torn Ivalice. This, sadly led to countless and pointless deaths of civilians. However, when the US forces got their heads together they massacred both side of the War of the Lions. Since magic is now a thing and teachable, people are lining up to learn the various classes.

Also, I'm just going to go fuse Jugdral as well.

Fisher King Syndrome is the medical term for "Taking on the characteristics of a fictional entity." It is divided into three types:

  • Type 1: Benign. This covers things like gaining Character Levels, gaining magical abilities, or growing an odd hair color. Common in the UK and certain places in the USA, Japan, and China. Commonly self-inflicted.
  • Type 2: Transformative. Things like becoming a pony or a Funny Animal, orc, elf, zombie, etc. Common in Eastern Canada/Equestria; certain places in the UK and USA.
  • Type 3: Malighn. This is like getting forcibly merged with someone-or something. It's never pretty and often fatal. Usually only people who spend too much time in a Zone gets Type 3 FKS.

Northwest America (at least, most of it, Seattle is just one big neverending Soap Opera) has been turned into Lovecraft Country as far as the eye can see. Every other step you could run into creepy gnomes, mile high fences, plastic wrapped dead bodies, or worse, awkward teenagers. Similar but different enough to constantly call out confused visitors about it are the strange lands of New England, a bit more horror-y than the northwest.

What parts of LA that didn't get turned into Physical Hell is where Cyberpunk came to roost. The UNN Recruitment center is right next door to a flame-spewing Replicant factory, and every so often SkyNet swarms the place with killer robots.

[up][up] As long as it's a work of fiction, and there isn't a Fanwork Ban on it, feel free to suggest absolutely anything. waii

And since this I haven't posted anything on this thread for a while, I think I'll write about something that's been on my mind for this series. After the Convergence, Masquerades got... weird. The universe-mashing shenanigans of said event have played merry hell with any and all passive Masquerade-enforcing phenomena, from the Mist to the Delirium. To put it simply, they don't work anymore, and many societies that employ Masquerades, such as the White Council, the Ministry of Magic and the Camarilla, have been left in a panic trying whatever they can trying to still stay secret in a world where half of Canada has been openly taken over by ponies.

But in truth? Everyone ALREADY knows about these groups, but they just don't have the heart to tell them that the secrets are already out. No one enforcing a Masquerade has yet to catch on to this.

Meanwhile, the general populace is still unaware that peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches have evolved into sentient life.

Massive cities appear randomly all over the world. Sometimes they're Mega-Cities, sometimes they're Hive Cities, and some are EarthGov cities.

Speaking of EarthGov, Necromorph Outbreak survivors are considered Doom Troops by any paramilitary organizations they join, since fighting the bloody things basically involves quickly becoming a Sociopathic Soldier or getting your face eaten. Any time one of those one-man death squads get sent in, shit has hit the fan.

Certain corporations have thrived in the new world. Weyland-Yutani handles much of the worlds space travel, and the Train-Monks run a lot of rail systems, for example.

Thailand is where most of the "magical realm" type fantasies showed up. Many of the settings fused with England promptly declared war on the place, and vacationing there is even more likely to get you chucked in jail out-of-hand than it already is.

Settings locked in Forever Wars have a special hate for settings that have achieved world peace. The God-Emperor, for example, sends Munistorum casualty reports to Celestia every weekend out of spite.

Well, I finally have my computer set up after the big move, so I might as well dump some setting ideas I've been having...

  • The SCP Foundation headquarters has been repurposed into the headquarters of the Converged Earth Police. Among the main reasons for this include that the Foundation realized that their mission of upholding The Masquerade has become pointless in a post-Convergence world, and the CEP figured they could used a facility already designed to contain superpowered individuals. After the acquisition of Foundation resources and assets, the CEP did an evaluation of all sentient SCP's to determine which ones were a threat to the general public, releasing the non-dangerous ones and giving them citizenship status.
  • Poland ended up merged with the Continent from The Witcher. While taking strides to modernize such a... "rustic" world, there's still a lot of problems that have stemmed from the loads of Fantastic Racism, medieval attitudes towards gender roles, and multitudes of man-eating monsters running around. However, the Polish government has found a solution to that last problem: they put the Witchers on government payroll. The Witchers were eager to agree to this deal, finding that a government salary is a better deal than Walking the Earth for contracts, that modern weapons put a rampaging gryphon down far more efficiently than waving a sword around does, and most of all, are just glad to find that modern Polish citizens treat them far better than the asshole peasants who rely on them to not get eaten by monsters.
  • Mongolia has been merged with Tarkir. Realizing that a bunch of warring clans running around armed with draconic magic is a bit dangerous, the Mongolian government now acts as mediators between the clans to end conflicts with as little bloodshed as possible... which almost worked, until Sarkhan Vol's time travelling shenanigans brought the dragons back, leading to a whole new host of problems.
  • There is a small percentage of those merged with Zones of Exclusion that don't die or become a Walking Wasteland. Instead, these few become Mary Sues. Now able to subconsciously warp reality and the minds of others to their merest whims, and with the emotional maturity of high school girls and the moral fibre of an axe murderer, Mary Sues are considered to be among the greatest threats to post-Convergence Earth. Among the first major threats the CEP had to deal with was one by the name of Enoby Dimentia Dark'ness Raven Way. After a long intense battle during which many CEP officers fell under her sway, she was defeated, revealing to the world the danger such being posed. The CEP now has one policy regarding Mary Sues: kill on sight.

South Korea ends up merged with things Nexon made. And Seoul has all sorts of Manhwa related problems. And North Korea... continues being North Korea.

Oh, and apparently at some point, Gilgamesh, meet Gilgamesh and Gilgamesh. Don't get started on all the diffrent Draculas running around.

Wouldn't the world be suffering from various simultaneously occurring disasters? Like numerous zombie outbreaks to numerous duplicates of major cities. Will Tokyo hold the 2020 Olympic Games or Neo-Tokyo?

Would history change as well? Will there be immortals robbing trains, giant robots fighting demons, and Daleks and King Kong in Manhattan in the 1920s and 30s? Will WWII be fought by Alucard, Captain America, and Superman against Those Whacky Nazis, their Ghostapo, and Aliens?

I just realized... Sharktopus. Sharknado. Every. Single. SyFy Channel Original Movie.

Lately, I've been distracted by other projects of mine. I'll admit I'm a textbook example of Attention Deficit Creator Disorder. wink

But I do have a few more ideas for this story that I haven't posted to this thread yet. Chief among which include character dynamics between the people of different world's that now inhabit the same planet. For example, Princess Twilight Sparkle has an Odd Friendship with Doctor Doom, of all people.
