“Why are you telling me this?” You must be thinking to yourself. Because, my friend, you, too, are about to embark on a journey similar to these brave survivors - - whether you like it or not. Come along as you face these challenges along the way, and you’d best pray and hope that you survive. Whether or not you believe in the paranormal is not the quest - - it’s if you can stay sane in this literal hellhole and overcome any obstacles in your path.”
Spectre

Weeping Willows: The Town of Spirthand (often referred to was WW2 or Spirithand) is a roleplay inspired by the Danganronpa series. It takes place over Discord, with the moderators being Erica, Middy, and Astron. It can be found here.

The events of Weeping Willows 2: The Town of Spirithand take place two years after the previous killing game, Weeping Willows. 20 Ultimates (with two more joining the party later) are trapped in the town of Spirithand, a town where its residents had disappeared years ago, with only fragments hinting at where they went. The Ultimates have to figure out what happened to the residents while they participate in another killing game. In addition to this, the survivors of the previous killing game are around to an extent - or rather, one of them can be heard on the radio, but his location is currently unknown.

The first part of the story wrapped up on January 19-20, 2020 (depending on what time zone you were in). The non canon town mode (as well as the second part of the story that leads up to the latter Weeping Willows stories) can be found here.

Scilla

Heheheh! You liked that whole performance, business boy? Man, I'm a GREAT actor, don't 'cha think?! Real convincin', right? Heheh!
The Head Mascot
  • Ax-Crazy: Isn't afraid to hurt the students or lower their morale.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Continuously dishes these out to the students, as several students can attest to. If a student attempts to attack them, Scilla immediately shoots them with vines that promptly stab them. The attack in question can differ (sometimes it's one vine, other times it's multiple and where they hit varies), but it always leaves a student incapacitated and permanently scarred.
  • A God Am I: Decides that they are a god and plots to remove power from the muns
  • Evil Is Petty: Injures the students, hands out motives, insults the students, steals from the students and forces them to wear ridiculous costumes because Banko and Tetsuya wanted to host a party.
  • Expy: Of Chucky - a violent murderer trapped in a body that seems innocent at first until you look closer. Scilla outright confirms it at one point.
  • Immune to Bullets: Nagase shot them, but they weren't affected by the bullets.
  • Jerkass: Likes to bully the students, break down their hopes, and insult them whenever possible.
  • Karma Houdini: Hasn't suffered despite tormenting the students.
  • Kick the Dog: Has no qualms hurting the students for fun - such as traumatizing them and threatening to kill them.
  • Man-Eating Plant: Word of God confirms that Scilla has eaten humans at some point.
  • Medium Awareness: They're aware that they're fictional, and attempts to show the students this.
  • My Rules Are Not Your Rules: Has stated that the rules for the students don't apply to them, and they have to follow someone else's orders. This is true given that Scilla has killed some of the students yet doesn't get punished for it.
  • Shoot the Dog: Murders Roark in front of the other students in chapter 1. All because they figured out a secret. Meanwhile some of the other students had tried to kill Scilla, yet only get beat up for it. Scilla committed this murder to hit the cast with emotion.
  • Villain Has a Point: Scilla points out that while they do want to take power from the muns, the muns are the ones that set up the killing game and decide who lives and dies.
  • Why Won't You Die?: Nagase has tried to shoot Scilla, Yukan and Caolán tried to fight them, Kristina tried to straight up murder Scilla. Even if Scilla gets destroyed, they just spawn back and deal a Curb-Stomp Battle to whomever hurt them.

Sacha

Witch Mascot
  • Back from the Dead: Reveals that she died at the end of the Urushido event, but is back again to help the students.
  • The Bus Came Back: Comes back at the start of chapter 3 to help the students.
  • Butt-Monkey: Has suffered so much at the hands of Scilla.
  • Put on a Bus: Disappears after her first appearance in chapter 1.

Spooks

Skeleton Mascot
  • Back from the Dead: A rather odd case for Spooks, since they're a skeleton. They did die at the end of the Urushido event, but Scilla brought them back.
  • The Bus Came Back: Comes back during the chapter 5 motive to watch the argument between Nagase and King.
  • Butt-Monkey: At the hands of Scilla. Scilla forced them to come back specifically to torment
  • Pet the Dog: Comforts Emiko after she meets Scilla.
  • Put on a Bus: Disappears after chapter 1 and hasn't been seen since.

    Anna Ovsta / Alice Ovsta

Anna Ovsta

Played by: Drift

"Прощай мой друг."
The Ultimate Seamstress. She was 18 years old at the time of her death. In chapter 2 it's revealed that Anna is actually not an Ultimate, and is actually Alice Ovsta, the sister of the real Anna. She was also the chapter 2 killer and was executed.
  • Animal Motif: Sheep. Anna is one of the ditzy and sweetest students. Her name is even Russian for sheep. As Alice however, her motif shifts from sheep to wolf.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Acts sweet and innocent, but really is cold and empty.
  • Cain and Abel: Alice is the Cain to the real Anna's Abel, given that she stole Anna's identity and left her in a coma in Russia.
  • Cassandra Truth: Anna correctly guessed that Rory was a serial killer, but few people believed her due to all the other lies she revealed.
  • Cowardly Lion: Despite Anna’s skittish Nature, she managed to defend herself from the cat in the hat ghost while investigating the hotel.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Her execution, to the point that even some of those who hated her felt that it was too much. She gets sent on a conveyor belt and bitten to death by wolves. She also gets stabbed by needles and her bones are crushed before turning into an actual outfit.
  • Gratuitous Russian: Frequently adds Russian terms to her speech, such as screaming "BRATVA!" when Demetrio first appeared.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Despite having a sweet appearance she is resentful and plots murder.
  • False Friend: Played With. Despite lying and her jealousy of everyone, she did feel some sort of connection with the others. Her last words imply she did feel some sort of friendship towards them. Doesn’t stop people from being absolutely pissed at her however.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Becomes this in chapter 2 after killing the beloved Kenway for a selfish reason.
  • Ironic Name: Her true name, Alice, is derived from the Greek word “alethéia”. Which means truth. Considering all the lies she hides behind, this is very ironic.
  • Jacob Marley Apparel: When she shows up briefly in chapter 4, she is seen wearing the same clothes she was wearing when she died. Granted, they had the ability to show messages and images, but still.
  • Kick the Dog: Unintentional on Anna's end, But her motive behind killing Kenway did not sit well with Ayuna, given that she viewed her as one of her friends and was horrified that she had committed murder.
  • Meaningful Name: Ovsta means sheep. She's a wolf in sheep’s clothing after all.
  • Odd Friendship: With Tetsu. They bonded over farm animals after Tetsu arrived and Anna was the only person to not fear Tetsu.
  • Sweet Sheep: She looked cute and gave gifts to everyone when they first arrived - Ezekiel got a jacket and Loki got a scarf. Then this was subverted when she revealed her true colors.
  • Taking You with Me: Attempts this with Scilla before her execution. Unfortunately, Scilla has a double.
  • Twin Switch: Swaps places with her sister, the real Anna.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's really hard to talk about Anna without revealing that she's actually Alice, the talentless twin of the real Anna.

    Ayuna Kazuo

Ayuna Kazuo

Played by: Skele

"I'm going to miss you so much."
The Ultimate Snowboarder. She was 16 years old.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: At the restaurant, she finds out that she can order just about anything, so after ordering gross food, orders George Washington's hand, and promptly flips out when it appears.
  • Break the Cutie: Did not take Alice being the second killer very well.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Her head is always in the clouds, and she rarely takes things seriously.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. However, despite getting possessed by a demon, she didn't actually cause much damage to the town or other students.
  • Genki Girl: Full of energy and mostly cheerful.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: A very sweet girl with blonde hair.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Realizes that she did not kill the traitor and killed an innocent (Ezekiel).
  • Technicolor Eyes: Has pink eyes.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gets one from Loki after she orders George Washington's left hand in the restaurant.

    Banko Imai

Banko Imai

Played by: Mattie

“Th-Thank you everyone... I w-wish you all th-th’ best!”
The Ultimate Stargazer. He was 18 years old at the time of his death. He's the first killer, having poisoned a cupcake that Sou unwittingly ate. After his trial he was also the first one to be executed.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: After getting possessed in chapter 1, he suffers a breakdown and decides to poison one of the cupcakes.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: His execution, where he gets launched into space after getting strapped to the ceiling and ends up being killed by the void of space. The surviving students are horrified to watch it unfold.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. While Banko had no control of his actions, he spent his time tormenting Tetsuya and driving him to despair. At the end of the first trial, Banko admits that due to the possession he actually decided to commit murder.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Experiences this after poisoning the cupcake that caused Sou to die.
  • Sleepyhead: Banko possesses the ability to fall asleep anywhere, anytime.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Has teal eyes.

    Caolán MacRory

Caolán MacRory

Played by: Jasper

"I-It was really nice though..! Oh, is that awkward? That's probably a weird thing to say..."
The Ultimate Live Action Roleplayer. He is 18 years old.
  • All-Loving Hero: Cares for every member of the cast, including Ezekiel.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: If he snaps, he snaps HARD. Hearing that Susumu was injured by Scilla caused Caolán to fly into a rage to attack Scilla, freaking out the other students.
  • Break the Cutie: Losing his friend Ezekiel hurt him deeply... But it was Susumu's death that truly broke him to the point that he's constantly in tears.
  • The Cutie: He's very cute and innocent. When he swears, you know shit is going down.
  • Dork Knight: Caolán is a bit socially awkward (he decided to have an RP with Scilla, for instance), but has one of the strongest moral compasses of the cast and tries to help any and everyone he can.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1 when a demon named Izra possessed him. However, Caolán's demon merely flirted with Ezekiel and tried to kiss the guitarist, then started talking with Kal.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Is a fan of Lord of the Rings and is considered to be cute. He also doesn't understand innuendos, as demonstrated when he asks Nagase what his comments mean.
  • Handicapped Badass: Walks with a limp, but that doesn't mean he won't fight for his friends.
  • I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me: Is surprised that Susumu returns his affections in chapter 2.
  • The Heart: The Heart of the Student council. Doesn't hate anyone and makes sure that everyone gets together.
  • Horrifying the Horror: After being convinced that Loki was enacting a roleplay early in chapter 3 (Loki was merely venting their frustrations, though it was structured like a roleplay), Caolán decides to roleplay with Scilla. Scilla goes along with it... But the texts horrify Rory and make him go offline.
  • Oh, Crap!: The students themselves freak out when Caolán finally snaps in chapter 3 (because Scilla injured Susumu), shocked that one of the kindest students could snap.

    Deirdre Williams

Deirdre Williams

Played by: Vanitas

"I...I really don't know what came over me during the trial I just....it's wasn't enough to properly avenge him but it felt good..."
A Reserve Course Student. She was 14 years old. In chapter 2 it's revealed that she's actually the Ultimate Cult Leader. She gets killed in chapter 6 and dies alongside Milk, courtesy of Nagase.
  • Break the Cutie: After discovering the body in chapter 3, Deirdre can no longer hold back her emotions and starts to cry, utterly breaking down over losing one of her friends.
  • Dark Magical Girl: Played with, due to Deirdre being on the side of most of the Ultimates. Deirdre has implied that her father is the one that is pushing her to be the Cult Leader, and conversations with her imply that she grew up alone. She keeps to herself and has a generally nihilistic view on everything while attempting to distance herself from the cast at first. She also can perform magic (to an extent - her fire spell failed).
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has quite the snarky responses to almost everything. Most of Deirdre's comments are snarky responses to the previous conversation.
  • Disappointed in You: Gives Loki this expression when they mention the idea of letting Altair possess them so that the latter can speak.
  • Emotionless Girl: At the beginning, she didn't show any emotions. However, this is becoming subverted as the story goes on.
  • Friendless Background: Implied. She rarely brings up anyone in her past, besides her girlfriend in chapter 1 and Nikolai in chapter 2.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Immediately freaks out when she knocks out Tetsuya in chapter 2.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has a spirit and white hair.
  • No Social Skills: Deirdre has a hard time interacting with the other students, and in many situations she moves away from the conversation.
  • Overly Long Scream: When Ezekiel eats a rat in front of her, she screams so long and hard that characters in the dump were affected by the scream.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Kristina's Red Oni. Deirdre is quiet and unsure how to interact with others while Kristina is outgoing and likes to talk with everyone. Kristina officially considers Deirdre to be like her little sister.
  • Taken for Granite: Gets turned to stone in chapter 3 during the demon attack. However, this was in Rory's body while his own body was unharmed. She thankfully gets better.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Whacks Tetsuya hard enough with a stick to knock him out when they were suffering from the Heebie Jeebies motive.
  • You Leave Him Alone!: After all three of them receive the Heebie Jeebies motive, Deirdre shouts this at Tetsuya when he starts attacking the other students before whacking the former with a stick and knocking him out.

    Demetrio Castello

Demetrio Castello

Played by: Shelby

"Empty threats do not solve murders."
He is the Ultimate Mobster, a talent he shares with King (they went to different Academies). He is 20 years old. Demetrio joins the Killing Game in chapter 2.
  • Affably Evil: Despite assisting in saving Deirdre's life in chapter 2, Demetrio comes up with several plans to kill the other students if necessary in chapter 3.
  • Badass Biker: The only person who can make a Hello Kitty bike look intimidating.
  • The Big Guy: After Sou and Kenway's deaths, Demetrio is one of, if not the most physically imposing and powerful members of the cast.
  • Combat Medic: Has extensive knowledge on both how to beat people's asses and save people's asses.
  • Deep South: Upon being possessed in chapter 7 and under the effects of the Heebie Jeebies in chapter 5, Demetrio becomes a stereotypical southern redneck, and also drinks motor oil.
  • Disappointed in You: Every time King speaks over the broadcast, Demetrio ends up more and more disappointed in the previous Ultimate Mobster.
  • The Don: Demetrio is the Ultimate Mobster and his actions imply that he has plenty of power in his organization.
  • Godzilla Threshold: If push comes to shove, he has a plan of action in case he decides to off any other member of the cast.
  • Horrifying the Horror: Tetsu's threat to turn him into a Cow did not sit well with him.
  • Italians Talk with Hands: Averted. Despite being Italian, he very rarely makes hand gestures.
  • Lack of Empathy: Reacts with overwhelming indifference to both Takaika's death, as well as Loki's subsequent breakdown.
  • Last-Name Basis: Demands that the rest of the cast refer to him as Castello.
  • Making a Spectacle of Yourself: Often wears crude, pink heart-shaped sunglasses.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When Demetrio takes his sunglasses off, his eyes are a deep, almost glowing red.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Tetsu's Red Oni. Demetrio is the Stoic Gangster grounded in reality, and Tetsu is the eccentric Mad Scientist who dabbles in fantasy (Tetsu showed up via an incantation, Demetrio drove in). Demetrio doesn't trust Tetsu at all while Tetsu might view Demetrio as a friend.
  • Sixth Ranger Traitor: Seems to be building up to this, as he joins the party late and is keeping a notebook with ways to kill everyone. He hid the notebook in the woods so that Caolán can't find it.
  • There Was a Door: In chapter 3, instead of leaving Tetsuya and Yukan to speak in private by leaving through a door, he instead elects to jump out of a window, due to it being more convenient to him.
  • The Stoic: Rarely emotes, if at all. Nobody has seen him smile yet.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Quite fond of taking a break from his business, putting on a Hawaiian t-shirt and drinking wine.

    Emiko Kasai

Emiko Kasai

Played by: Froggy

"I play all sorts!! Taiko drum master, Rhythm Heaven, Project Diva, DDR-"
The Ultimate Rhythm Gamer. She is 16 years old.
  • All-Loving Hero: She cares for all of the cast and doesn't have anything bad to say about them... But when it's the murderers...
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Emiko managed to save everyone in chapter 3 from voting wrong because she saw a pattern in the evidence that exposed the killer. That being said she doesn't take this revelation well.
  • Break the Cutie: Constantly suffers from this because she's trapped here. Sou's death and Anna's execution nearly broke the poor girl. Chapter 3 ups the ante by killing her closest friend Takaika, and she can barely hold herself together when talking to Rory.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: In chapter 4 right before the motive was dropped, Emiko experiences a flashback that implies that something in her backstory isn't pleasant, as she did SOMETHING terrible.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Through most of the killing game, Emiko's hair is in girlish pigtails to symbolize that she is rather young. She later reveals that she does this intentionally to make herself fit her girlish image more.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Well her hair does have highlights, but she's one of the nicest students.
  • Heroic BSoD: She has a major breakdown when she found out that Tetsu used her body to kill two of her friends. She ended up crying and isolating herself.
  • Gamer Chick: Emiko is the Ultimate Rhythm Gamer and can be seen playing video games in the arcade frequently.
  • Genki Girl: A very cheerful girl. Most of the time.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Takaika's Blue Oni. Emiko is a cheery young girl who attempts to befriend the generally stoic Takaika, and the two of them are frequently seen hanging around each other.
  • The Reveal: After chapter 4's trial, Emiko lets her hair down and reveals that her voice is a slightly deeper pitch.

    Ezekiel Rosario

Ezekiel Rosario

Played by: Erica

"I HATE ALL OF YOU, I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT ALL OF YOU, I HATE YOUR DUMB FUCKING FACES, I HATE THE WAY YOU ALL SPEAK!"

The Ultimate Guitarist. He was 19 years old. He was killed in chapter 4 by Ayuna.

  • Accidental Pervert: Types "sip dick" in the group chat instead of "rip dick". Cue getting mistaken for a pervert.
  • Animal Stereotypes: Acts a lot like a dog.
  • Anti-Hero: Has shades of this. He tends to prefer to be by himself, but he is willing to help the others if necessary, such as performing the exorcisms in chapter 1.
  • As the Good Book Says...: Has quoted the Bible before.
  • The Atoner: Has been trying to make amends to the rest of the cast for his previous actions.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Has a few examples, some of them are due to his cynical nature:
    • He was one of the few characters who realized in the beginning that the group was going to repeat the Killing Game, due to everyone being Ultimates waking up in a strange place.
    • Realizes how to find out the chapter 2 killer by insisting everyone write a message on his arm, and that Anna's refusal indicated that they were the guilty party.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Swallowed rats whole, has eaten metal before, has eaten soap before. The list goes on.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: One of the smartest characters in the cast, but refuses to do anything to help the others until necessary.
  • British Rock Star: He's British... But a member of an American Rock Band.
  • British Stuffiness: Is British and one of the meaner cast members. Becoming subverted as of chapter 2 and 3.
  • Butt-Monkey: Is on the receiving end of many pranks or events.
  • Catchphrase: "PISS OFF WANKER" or some variation thereof.
  • Christianity is Catholic: Can exorcise demons based on Catholic methods.
  • Closet Geek: Is a fan of Harry Potter, but didn't state so until later on in the story.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Is prone to these especially if someone attempts to get close to him. In fact, he started saying "Piss off Wanker" in the prologue when the other students tried to calm him down.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Doesn't really fight by the rules, if he fights at all.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Keeps shouting about "The people" and has a dead girlfriend named Morgan.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Ezekiel can be seen snarking at the other characters. One of them is when he pointed out that Loki mispronounced a word and embarrassed themselves when they were talking about embarrassments.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1 by an unnamed demon that wanted chicken tenders. His face split open and he ended up terrorizing Emiko and wrecking the kitchen, as well as breaking Loki's leg. Once he ate some chicken tenders, the demon conked out and left his body.
  • Distressed Dude: When he broke his leg, he needed help.
  • The Eeyore: Very depressed. He has stated that he is cursed and doesn't deserve anything happening.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Despite his... haggard appearance, Ezekiel was found to be attractive by Izra and Caolán.
  • Foreign Cuss Word: Frequently says "Wanker" and tends to include it in his swears. In chapter 2, he calls Ayuna a wanker at the dump... But she thought it was hilarious.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: At the beginning, only Caolán and Ayuna (with Loki to a minor extent) tolerated him. He purposely got on everyone's nerves and didn't want anyone near him. He reveals to Nagase that he did this to protect everyone else from a perceived curse he believes he has. With his epiphany in chapter 3, he has been trying to subvert this trope.
  • Heroic BSoD: Roark's death in chapter 1 triggered Ezekiel's, causing him to go into shock before screaming at some of the other students and revert back to his hateful self.. Implied to have also had one when Morgan died.
  • Hidden Depths: One of the most perceptive cast members who actually cares about the others, but hides this behind his growls. Gets subverted starting in chapter 3.
  • High-Voltage Death: Gets electrocuted during a performance he set up for the cast.
  • Hollywood Exorcism: Ezekiel can use a cross, holy water, and Latin incantations to exorcise the demons of Nagase, Roark, and Susumu in chapter 1.
  • Holy Burns Evil: Invokes this during the possession motive, using his cross to exorcise everyone possessed.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Back in chapter 1 when he was still a jerk, Ezekiel did take the time to check on Roark during the party.
  • Loners Are Freaks: Snaps at anyone who tries to get close to him, besides Deirdre and Roark, and considers himself to be a freak. Becomes subverted as of the beginning of chapter 3 after saving Tetsuya.
  • Man Bites Man: Will not hesitate to bite anyone who gets near him.
  • Nervous Wreck: Is among the first to freak out when anything happens.
  • No Social Skills: He isn't good with interacting with others, and tends to miss social cues.
  • Non-Action Guy: The weakest male (if not character) in Spirithand.
  • An Odd Place to Sleep: He sleeps anywhere that isn't a bed. Like a library shelf.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Despite keeping everyone at a distance, Ezekiel originally only tolerated Roark.
    • After Roark's demon attacked Nagase and resulted in Loki getting a Heroic BSoD, Ezekiel reminded Loki that they saved Nagase and that the event wasn't their fault.
    • After saving Tetsuya, Ezekiel finds a rat and decides not to eat it, kicking off his redemption arc.
    • After Tetsuya fell out of a tree, Ezekiel admits that he doesn't want Tetsuya to die and reveals that he's had similar thoughts to Tetsuya
  • Picky Eater: Refuses to eat most normal food. Just try to give the guy something normal to eat, and he'll reject it.
  • Prefers Rocks to Pillows: When offered a bed, Ezekiel rejects it to sleep on the floor.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Nagase's Blue Oni. Nagase is the stoic who can easily take Ezekiel in a fight, while Ezekiel is the angry but he can't hold his own in a fight. In fact, the two frequently get into fights and cannot get along.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: He doesn't like Rory... Because Rory pours his milk before the cereal when he eats breakfast. Rory is a serial killer so Ezekiel is right to be wary... But not because of the cereal.
  • Scary Teeth: Has very sharp teeth.
  • Sickening "Crunch!": Happens when he breaks his leg in chapter 1.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: It's easier to count the times he doesn't end up cussing.
  • Sleepy Depressive: Is depressed but is frequently seen napping.
  • Teeny Weenie: His player confirms he has one of these.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Chapter 3 he went after the demon monster that grabbed Ayuna.
  • Weak, but Skilled: In Chapter 3, he beats a demon this way. He figures out that the demon cannot stand lavender so he drenches himself in Tetsuya's shampoo and charges at the demon.

    Kenway Uhtric

Kenway Uhtric

Played by: Lilly

“This place is a fucking mess...”
The Ultimate Bodyguard. He was 18 years old at the time of his death. Kenway was killed by a jealous Alice in chapter 2.
  • The Big Guy: Is the tallest member of the cast until his death in chapter two.
  • Big Guy Fatality Syndrome: He dies after receiving Alice's note, attempting to protect the other students.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Implied. He tries to save everyone he can, and wonders if he's worthless after failing to prevent
  • Dies Wide Open: He dies with his eyes wide open after internally bleeding to death.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. His demon decides to harm Kenway's body to test his lack of pain, and unfortunately, Yukan got hurt due to the demon's shenanigans.
  • Feel No Pain: He can't feel pain due to his condition. Because of this, he didn't realize he was dying until it was too late.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite his stature, Kenway is one of the gentler characters.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Has this dynamic with Kristina, with Kenway being a whooping 8'0 and Kristina being 5'3. Also has a similar dynamic with Yukan.
  • I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me: Is surprised that Kristina returns his affections in chapter 2.
  • Irony: Tells Loki to not confront problems on their own and to call for backup. He doesn't do this when he receives the note from Alice, resulting in his own death.
  • The Lost Lenore: Becomes one to Kristina in chapter 2 after he was murdered. She can't stop thinking about him and she nearly killed herself to reunite with him.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: He never got to say goodbye to Kristina, Yukan, and his other friends. Justified given that Alice ambushed him and then he died from his injuries.
  • Oblivious to Love: Is originally ignorant of Kristina's interest in him.
  • Shipper on Deck: Told Loki to ask out Nagase and a comment on the relationship chart hopes that the two of them are okay.
  • The Stoic: Rarely expresses emotions. Subverted in chapter 2 due to the Heebie Jeebies motive that made him more emotional.
  • Workaholic: Played with. He is seen trying to protect the other students most of the time.
  • Walking Spoiler: Kind of hard to talk about Kenway and his relationship with Kristina due to him dying in chapter 2.

    Kristina Menendez

Kristina Menendez

Played by: Colette

" A we can do is try and bear through whatever fate throws at us from now on. I'll... do my best to guide everyone for as long as I possibly can."
The Ultimate Lo-Fi Artist. She is 18 years old. In Chapter 3 it's revealed that she's actually the Ultimate Oracle
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Kristina is one of the nicest students in the cast, keeping an eye on Deirdre and helping out whenever she can. However she punches Anna in the second trial after discovering that Alice killed Kenway.
  • Blessed with Suck: Sure she can see the future, but that means she can't do anything about it and has to see her friends die. She can't even tell anyone about it either.
  • Break the Cutie: Chapter 2 just broke this poor girl. First, the love of her life is killed, and then she finds out why she was killed.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: The gentle girl to Kenway's brooding boy. She is gentle and kind (until she snaps) while Kenway keeps to himself and rarely emotes.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: In chapter 3 after swapping bodies with Loki, she runs off to take their knife collection. She then promptly uses them for a meme, much to the Forensic Nurse's exasperation.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Kristina seems to be The Ditz and doesn't take anything seriously. In truth, she's actually the Ultimate Oracle.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Hinted at by Loki during the third chapter due to the flashbacks, before Loki mentions in chapter 3 that she saw her friend die in front of her and that she might have seen visions of all those who died in Spirithand. She confirms this in chapter 5.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Kenway's death. She broke because of this.
  • Driven to Suicide: In Chapter 3, after stealing one of Loki's knives, she contemplates using it to reunite with Kenway before realizing she still had people to protect.
  • Genki Girl: Was a happy go lucky girl who tried to befriend everyone. Becomes subverted after chapter 2.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: Occasionally speaks Greek. This hints that she's actually the Ultimate Oracle.
  • Her Boyfriend's Jacket: Gets a jacket from Kenway.
  • Heroic BSoD: When she finds Kenway's body, she goes into shock and starts to cry before isolating herself from everyone in chapter 2.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Has this dynamic with Kenway, with Kenway being a whooping 8'0 and Kristina being 5'3.
  • The Lost Lenore: It's revealed that her middle name, Jazmín, was actually the name of her best friend and first love before Jazmín got brutally killed.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: To Kenway. They merely said goodnight to each other, and Kenway went to investigate something before tragically getting killed.
  • Pitbull Dates Puppy: The puppy to Kenway's pitbull. She's cheery, not physically intimidating, and stands at 5'3. Kenway is 8'0, ready to fight at a moment's notice, and rather stoic. When they are together, she brings out Kenway's softer side.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Deirdre's Blue Oni. Kristina is very social and chipper, easily making friends while Deirdre is serious and reserved, having problems making friends.
  • Secret-Keeper: To Deirdre. Kristina is one of the few characters that knows that Deirdre is the Ultimate Cult Leader.
  • Tragic Keepsake: After Kenway's death, Yukan gives her Kenway's earrings, and Kristina has been wearing them up until her death.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Twice.
    • The first was against Scilla after discovering that Kenway died. Resulted in a Curb-Stomp Battle however because Scilla is invincible.
    • The second was during the second trial after discovering that Alice had killed Kenway because she was jealous of him. She just about killed Alice right then and there, and Loki could barely restrain her. And Loki was able to drag Kenway with one arm!
  • Walking Spoiler: Hard to talk about her without revealing that she took Kenway's death super hard and that she's the Ultimate Oracle. Subverted to an extent; she can see the future, and it's heavily implied that she knows all the deaths that will occur in the game, but something is preventing her from actually saying anything about it.

    Loki Þórsson

Loki Þórsson

Played by: Rin

"Thanks... Can’t be an.. Ultimate Forensic Nurse if you can’t patch yourself up, right? And it’s... It’s routine for me. Not the first time... I’ve been stabbed."
The Ultimate Forensic Nurse. They are 19 years old. Loki is genderfluid and uses he/him. she/her, and they/them pronouns, but this wiki will refer to them with they/them pronouns.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Loki has been able to figure out most of the characters secrets, though this sometimes bites them in the process. After figuring out Rory's, Rory found out and it led to the two being in a Prisoner's Dilemma.
  • Badass in Distress:
    • Briefly held hostage by Susumu's demon in chapter one.
    • Occurs again in chapter two after fighting with Tetsuya.
    • Gets trapped by a monster in chapter 3.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: During the Giant Kings event in chapter 2, Loki attempts to get the Giant Kings to look for the real King. However, due to their poor choice of words, they accidentally caused the Kings to attack each other.
  • Being Good Sucks: Lampshaded by Loki in chapter 7. They acknowledge that in situations like this, it's hard being good because the universe likes to spite good people. However that doesn't stop Loki from trying their best.
  • Belief Makes You Stupid: Defied. Is one of the smartest and religious members of the cast. Granted, Loki has pagan beliefs but still.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: One of the nicest members of the cast, but god forbid you get on their bad side.
  • Blade Enthusiast: Has a large collection of knives, surprisingly. They keep pulling knives out of nowhere, especially in chapter 2 and 3.
  • Break the Badass: As the Killing Game goes on, multiple events start weighing on Loki's mind and cause their depression to worsen. Each chapter's deaths start to weigh on their mind, but Kenway, Roark's, Kristina's, and Ezekiel's deaths weigh the most on their mind because those were their friends
  • Broken Ace: Loki is one of the smartest characters whose talent comes in handy during the trials, and happens to be one of the strongest characters. However, deep down Loki has doubts that they are really making a difference,
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Has this in spades. Loki tries to help everyone in the cast with any issue they have, with mixed results (although in some cases where they fail, there were other factors involved.) Somewhat deconstructed as Loki acknowledges that they can't save everyone, but it stays weighs on their mind.
  • Combat Medic: Is the only licensed nurse in the group, but is also one of the most badass characters in the cast
  • Cosmic Plaything: And no kidding. Loki seems to get affected by every motive, and winds up getting injured a lot. They haven't really had a break since stepping into Spirithand.
  • The Cynic: In chapter 6, Loki tries to think positively... Before revealing that they don't have any hope of escape. They're now more pessimistic about their situation, and their confessional admit that they have started to lose faith in humanity since Nagase died... Though the deaths of Roark, Susumu, Kenway, Kristina, and Ezekiel also factor heavily into this.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Has quite the troubled past.
    • Their mother was a serial killer, and attempted to kill them and their brothers when the three of them found out.
    • Their father died trying to save them.
    • Has been shot at 17 times over the course of 4 years. Is unfazed by this however.
    • Has been stabbed at least 15 times as well.
    • Also fell in love with Skuld Nohr, the Ultimate Police Officer, before she was killed. Loki attempted to save her, but she died in their arms.
  • Declaration of Protection: Promises to protect Nagase while talking to their confessional.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1, being possessed by a demon named Thrym. Luckily, all Loki suffered was minor vertigo, as Thrym didn't pose a threat to the students.
  • The Determinator: Loki is constantly trying to find a way to save everyone (including Altair) and find the Urushido survivors. Despite being kicked down several times, they are still determined to escape, as demonstrated by their conversation with Rory in chapter 7.
  • Deus Angst Machina: Loki has had a lot of bad things happen to them over the course of the roleplay to the point that it is too coincidental. However, Loki is aware that they are being controlled by the muns, so they might suspect something.
  • Enemy Mine: After King goes berserk because Nagase dies and Tetsuya gets injured, Loki decides to team up with Rory in order to escape Spirithand, despite despising Rory.
  • Every Scar Has a Story: Implied. Loki mentions that they have a scar on their stomach from their mother trying to kill them as a child. They also mention that their body has lots of scars.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: Frequently speaks in Icelandic, though they have said things in Romanian.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: A sweet person with blond hair.
  • Handicapped Badass: Has a hearing aid. Also frequently breaks bones or gets wounded, but that doesn't stop them from doing things like dragging Kenway to the dorms when he was incapacitated or punching people while holding someone else.
  • Heroic BSoD: Loki has had a few within the rp unfortunately
    • After beating the crap out of Tetsuya in chapter 2, Loki ran off and shut down, horrified by their actions
    • Kenway's death in chapter 2 made them freeze, shocked that one of their friends had fallen.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Wonders if they even deserve their talent if people keep suffering. This is brought up in chapter one.
  • Holding Your Shoulder Means Injury: Briefly in chapter one after accidentally getting punched by Nagase.
  • Hospital Hottie: Is a very attractive Forensic Nurse.
  • Hypocrite: Loki tends to take care of the others, and lectures them for neglecting their health... Despite being the type of person to neglect their own health in response. Ezekiel calls them out on this in chapter 3 by pointing out that they would be worried about Kristina if she didn't sleep when Loki pulls an all-nighter.
  • I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me: Surprised that Nagase returns their affections in chapter 1. Especially given their animosity in chapter 1.
  • Irony: Is named after the Norse Trickster, but is a nice person. Loki hasn't played tricks on anyone as well.
  • The Matchmaker: Helped pair Kenway with Kristina by giving Kenway advice over the Spookspad.
  • Noodle Incident: Several. Loki casually tells Susumu and Yukan they've been shot at 17 times within three years and later mentions being stabbed 15 times... Before the events of Spirithand. Susumu and Yukan are understandably concerned by this.
  • Oh, My Gods!: Frequently says "Gods above" and other Norse related euphemisms.
  • Opposites Attract: They're a forensic nurse dating a mafia accountant. Basically Loki is breaking the law.
  • The One Thing I Don't Hate About You: Despite being bitter enemies, Loki does admire how much Rory cares for Tetsuya.
  • Pitbull Dates Puppy: The puppy to Nagase's pitbull. Nagase will not hesitate to go after anyone that harms Loki, and Loki is notably shorter than Nagase. While Loki can defend themselves, it's not a good idea to hurt them lest you want Nagase to kill you.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Initially when Loki perceived Rory as a threat... Because the other tried to boss them around in the infirmary. Becomes subverted when Loki keeps an eye on Rory.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Rory's Blue Oni. Loki is more emotional and focused on helping others while Rory is stoic and implies that he only helps others for his personal gains. They go from being tense acquaintances to enemies over the course of the roleplay
  • Secret-Keeper: Surprisingly, for two of the characters.
    • To Deirdre. Loki was one of two people to find out that she's the Cult Leader... And that she's not evil
    • Loki is aware that Kristina is the Ultimate Oracle, and refuses to tell anyone else without her knowing. Kristina is aware that Loki knows and is glad that they keep diverting attention away from her.
  • The Sleepless: Paired with their Workaholic tendencies. Loki once went one month with 6 hours of sleep.
  • Shipper on Deck: Shipped Caolán and Susumu after Caolán wondered if he crushed on the latter.
  • Technical Pacifist: Barring Sasuke (which was an accident and Sasuke was a ghost/illusion), Loki hasn't killed anyone and swears by the Hippocratic Oath. That being said they won't hesitate to harm anyone they deem a threat.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Has red eyes.
  • Theme Naming: Nearly everyone in Loki's family is named after a Norse Being or Norse Hero except for their mother. Interestingly enough, this makes their mother really stand out, especially since she's a serial killer with a talent that isn't a service job.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The red hair clips in their hair was originally Skuld's before she died. Loki has also been making keepsakes of most of the deceased as well to remember them and not let their deaths be in vain. In chapter 7, Loki ends up wearing Nagase's clothing to remember them
  • Trauma Conga Line: Loki had to suffer Kenway's death, Takaika's death, and discovering that Rory had killed their girlfriend Skuld within two chapters, which caused Loki to break down severely. Ezekiel's death in chapter 4 did not help matters.
  • Trigger-Happy: When they find out that Tetsu murdered Takaika to reunite with someone he turned into a cow, Loki stole Nagase's gun and shot Tetsu with it in revenge. This was also done to protect Nagase, as Loki figured that Nagase would try to kill
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: On two occasions:
    • In chapter one, they get into an argument with Scilla and dare the flower to grow legs. Scilla does so (along with fishnets and high heels) and promptly terrorizes the cast with their new legs.
    • In chapter 3, they find a book on spells that repel demons. This unfortunately summons the demons that attack everyone.
  • True Companions: With Yukan. While they didn't know each other well at first, the two of them have fallen into a sibling dynamic, especially after Loki saved Yukan's life. Sure, they often tease each other and might argue at the other, but they have each other's backs if the other is in trouble.
    • Also shares this dynamic with Tetsuya. Despite them butting heads over the other's friends (Loki despises Rory and Tetsuya despises Nagase) they always support each other.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: On the receiving end multiple times throughout the story due to making reckless decisions that cause them to get injured.
  • Workaholic: Admits to being one prior to coming to Spirithand. Is also seen working a lot throughout the events of Spirithand, but this is Justified due to them being the only nurse and having to patch up injuries just about every three days.
  • You Leave Him Alone!: Shouts this in chapter 1 while trying to save Nagase from Roark's demon.

     ☆ Milk ☆

☆ Milk ☆

Played by: Sunny

"ANSWER ME, YOU AUDREY TWO FLOWEY THE FLOWER GREMLIN LOOKING MOTHER FUCKING FUCKER FUCK FACE!"
The Ultimate Social Media Model. She is 19 years old. In chapter 6 she reveals that her real name is Miliko Toyotomi, and she dies later that chapter.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: When Susumu was having a breakdown and Caolán lied about it, Milk pretty much figured out that Caolán was lying that they were talking about Lord of the Rings.
  • Berserk Button: Mentioning that Susumu needed to die for killing Mimi.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Milk may be rather eccentric, but when Ezekiel insulted Susumu in chapter 1, she did not take it well. Word of God confirms that if it wasn't for the trial, Milk would have beaten the crap out of Ezekiel.
  • Break the Badass: Despite being one of the most badass characters in the roleplay, Susumu's death clearly had an impact on Milk. She has become more emotional, yet also more withdrawn at the same time.
  • The Bus Came Back: Returns during the chapter 5 trial... And loses it.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. She gets possessed by the demon on the previous killing game.
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: Gains these in chapter 6 after Susumu dies.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Gets stabbed twice by Scilla, but is unfazed by this. She also pulls the spikes out and calls Scilla out for only using two to stab her.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Goes by Milk.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite being one of the shorter members of the cast, she easily lifts up Kenway, the biggest member of the cast.
  • Put on a Bus: Briefly loses focus for part of the roleplay around chapter 3, but returns towards the end of chapter 5.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Has pale red eyes

    "Mimi"

“Mimi”

Played by: Mona

"Different in a good or bad way? Oh myyyy! I hope it's not in a bad way."
The Ultimate Gunpla Modeler. She is 19 years old.

    Nagase Eijiro

Nagase Eijiro

Played by: Middy

"I left Margie with Malcolm and he's going to forget her birthday."
The Ultimate Accountant. He was 20 years old. In chapter 6 he killed Deirdre and Milk to stop the bomb from killing Loki and King.
  • Affably Evil: Despite wanting to save the students in the beginning, he didn't hesitate to threaten Loki when they figured out his mafia ties.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Is quite the pervert, especially around Loki.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Loses his leg to Roark's demon, but grew it back.
  • Ax-Crazy: After getting possessed in chapter 1 he went on a rampage and wounded a few other people before getting exorcised by Ezekiel.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Nagase is has been able to do do many things, and is stated to wear a very nice suit that rarely gets damaged despite the shenanigans he gets in.
    • Subverted in one case - when Roark's demon ate his leg. His suit got destroyed.
  • Badass in Distress: Gets held hostage by Roark's demon and nearly dies in chapter 1.
  • Break the Badass: Despite being one of the most badass characters, he's clearly not taking being separated from King well.
  • Can't Have Sex, Ever: Made out with Loki in chapter 3 before the body swap motive, and got whacked in the face with a Capri Sun Box. Also anytime he's with Loki they get interrupted.
  • *Crack!* "Oh, My Back!": Has chronic back pain. This causes him to have days where he can't move, like the chapter 1 investigation.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Implied to have this. He told Rory in chapter 4 that he was forced to work for the mafia.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Delivers most snarks in a deadpan tone.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. He goes on a rampage with no control over his actions, nearly killing Emiko by shooting her and locking some people in the fridge.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite working for the mafia, Nagase is nowhere near as evil as Rory, given that Rory has no hesitance in using others as a shield.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Has these due to rarely sleeping.
  • Eye Scream: Loses one of his eyes to Roark's demon.
  • Gayngster: Is bisexual and works as an accountant for the mafia.
  • Guns Are Worthless: Attempts to shoot Scilla when they first appear, but their bullets are ineffective.
  • Harem Seeker: Tells Caolán that he intends to look for multiple lovers in addition to wanting to marry King.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Even though he told Ayuna that he thought Ezekiel was the traitor, he pointed out that he wasn't the one to kill Ezekiel.
  • The Leader: Is the leader of the Student Council in chapter 1 that attempt to prevent the murders.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Is seen constantly drinking coffee.
  • Office Romance: With King, since they both work in the Mafia
  • One Head Taller: He's significantly taller than Loki.
  • Opposites Attract: He's a mafia member dating a Forensic Nurse - someone on the side of the law.
  • Perma-Stubble: Nagase has a five o'clock shadow in the roleplay and is never mentioned explicitly that he needs to shave it often. He's also an Anti-Hero due to his mafioso ties and his role as the (albeit unwilling) traitor.
  • Pitbull Dates Puppy: The pitbull to Loki's puppy. An intimidating member of the mafia dating the nice forensic nurse.
  • Prisoner's Dilemma: He knows that Rory is a serial killer, but can't reveal this without people finding out he's mafia
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Ezekiel's Red Oni. Ezekiel is prone to outbursts and lets his emotions get the better of him while Nagase tends to keep a better handle on his emotions.
    • Later develops this dynamic with Tetsuya, as Tetsuya is prone to yelling at Nagase and getting worked up.
  • The Reveal: At the chapter 4 trial, he is revealed to have been the traitor - meaning he worked for the mastermind... albeit unwillingly, as they were holding King hostage.
  • The Sleepless: Rarely sleeps. He has only gone to sleep once in the entire roleplay.
  • The Stoic: Rarely shows emotions, though occasionally subverted.
  • Technicolor Eyes: After regrowing one of his eyes with a potion, Ezekiel notes that it came back red.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Food from McDonald's.
  • Workaholic: Implied. He mentions having to do a lot of work for Malcom and that he is enjoying his time time to relax... In a Killing Game situation.
  • You Leave Him Alone!: Shouts this in chapter 3 when one of the monsters attempts to kill Loki.

     Roark Garner

Roark Garner

Played by: Cosmic

"I didn't know you were a capitalist dog, Mister Roach Head- nice to know you! Y'know, people at my old school used to get my name wrong and call me Roach, too- so it's okay. We can be Roach friends- until the revolution comes, that is..haha!"
The Ultimate Bug Catcher. They were 10 years old at the time of their death. In chapter 1, Roark discovered something about the killing game, and Scilla killed them in front of the others to prevent anyone else from finding out.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Uses they/them, she/her, and he/him pronouns.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: They figured out who the chapter 1 killer was and managed to have a theory similar to Loki, the forensic nurse. And Roark is only 10!
  • The Baby of the Bunch: At ten years old, Roark is the youngest member in Spirithand. Everyone adored him and tried to befriend him... Which made his death all the more tragic.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Roark is a sweet kid, but they have a darker side. When Tetsuya and Ezekiel start fighting in chapter 1, Roark decided that the best thing to do would be to release an army of wasps on them.
  • Capitalism Is Bad: Roark takes glee into insulting Susumu and states that they want to kill the rich. They even go as far as calling Susumu a pig.
  • Child Prodigy: Roark is the Ultimate Bug Catcher despite being ten years old, and is able to recite their scientific names.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Scilla impales them and turns them into hundreds of butterflies in Tetsuya's arms. According to the writers, when the last butterfly dies, Roark is gone for good.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1 along with many of the other students. Unfortunately, out of all of the students, Roark's demon causes the most damage, as four others (Nagase, Loki, Tetsuya, and Anna) almost get killed by Roark's demon, and actually caused some of the other students to fear Roark.
  • Irony: Roark wants to kill the wealthy class... Despite Word of St. Paul confirming that they themselves are the heir of a wealthy corporation.
  • Improbable Infant Survival: Averted. Is murdered in the first chapter.
  • Little Professor Dialog: Talks about bugs as if he's giving a lecture about them, and tends to use their scientific names when describing them.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's hard to talk about Roark without revealing that they were killed in chapter 1.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Upon discovering that Susumu was a businessman, Roark declared that they wanted to spread wealth equally... By killing Susumu.

    Rory Smith

Rory Smith

Played by: Astron

"No idea. I've been tinkering with ways of escape in my room but it seems I may have missed a few important things..."
The Ultimate Negotiator. He is 19 years old.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Falls for Tetsuya even though Tetsuya is happily dating Satoshi.
  • Ambition Is Evil: Rory will not hesitate to sacrifice friends, resources, or destroy entire countries to achieve his goals, if a war is what it takes, then a war it is.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Pretends to act nice but he really isn't.
  • Butt-Monkey: Is on the receiving end starting in chapter 3. Things start to go wrong for him.
  • Faux Affably Evil: His persona at first. He pretends to be nice to everyone... In order to use them as puppets latter.
  • False Friend: He doesn't view anyone as a friend. Subverted with Tetsuya, played straight with everyone else.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Barring Tetsuya, everyone else either tolerates him or outright hates him. Yes even being a serial killer didn't deter Tetsuya from liking him...
  • Genre Savvy: He's aware of the fact that as a serial killer, he is a likely suspect for the mastermind, but he's also aware that he's a red herring to throw everyone off the mastermind's trail - especially given the Urushido Event happened two years ago.
  • Glasgow Grin: Has a partial one due to an incident in his childhood.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Seemingly played straight, but majorly subverted when he shows his true colors.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Despite being in love with Tetsuya, he has determined that Tetsuya makes it out in order to reunite with Satoshi.
  • Irony: He insists on finding Takaika murderer(s) since it would be dangerous to let them walk around... Despite being a serial killer himself.
  • Jerkass: Is a huge jerk, especially to Nagase and Loki.
  • Kick the Dog: Frequently goes after Loki during their breakdowns and finds ways to erode their sanity. It's gotten to the point that Loki has started to believe that Rory is right.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Uses his charms to get into people's good books. When that fails, he strikes at someone's insecurities and attacks their self-worth.
  • Not Good with Rejection: When Tetsuya distances himself from Rory, Rory didn't it well. He ended up killing a bunch of rats and threatened to kill Loki.
  • Not So Stoic: In chapter 5, Tetsuya begins to avoid Rory and treat him coldly, Rory didn't understand the feeling of rejection. He brutally killed a bunch of rats to try and feel better, but that didn't, causing him to fly into a blind rage.
  • One-Steve Limit: Kind of. His first name is similar to Caolán's last name, Mac Rory.
  • The One Thing I Don't Hate About You: Towards Loki. Despite hating the nurse for ruining his plans, he does admire Loki's work ethic.
  • Pet the Dog: Sure, Rory is a jerk as well as a serial killer but his interactions with Tetsuya are rather sweet, as he helps build up the confectioner's self confidence and makes sure that he is doing alright.
  • Red Herring: Lampshades this when talking to Loki and Nagase in chapter 3. Even though he is a depraved serial killer, he assures them that he isn't actually the one who trapped everyone here.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Loki's Red Oni. Rory is calm and collected, while Loki is prone to being emotional.
  • The Sociopath: The only time Rory shows kindness is to garner support and blind devotion, any favor given by Rory has strings attached, waiting to tangle the unsuspecting victim in its web of lies. He has no emotional attachments, true righteous character traits, or interest in the emotional, physical, or mental wellbeing of other people. He is a cold, calculated, sadistic torturer who's primary goal is to seize power and influence.
  • Tantrum Throwing: In chapter 5, Tetsuya distances himself from Rory. Rory gets so upset by this he flies into a rage. He goes to the restaurant to kill a bunch of rats and throws their bodies, but that doesn't satisfy his anger.
  • Tranquil Fury: Towards King in chapter 7. King had nearly killed Tetsuya, and Rory found out. Rory did not take this well
  • Visionary Villain: Rory wants to control the world without outright ruling it, a mastermind from the shadows. He has an extravagant, untouchable sense of self and sees himself as the kind of liars and vastly superior to other people, especially emotional people.
  • Villain Respect: He hates Loki, but he does admit that Loki is good at keeping the group together and making sure that everyone is alright.
  • Walking Spoiler: Hard to talk about him when he's a depraved person and a serial killer.

  • Big Guy Fatality Syndrome: The first character to die in the Killing Game, as well as one of the tallest.

  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Has blonde hair and was a really swell guy.

  • Workaholic: Played with. He kept acting like Spirithand was just another place to record more material for his show.

  • I'm a Humanitarian: Implied. Considering Tetsu has the ability and prowess to turn people into Cows, yet also regularly eats hamburgers, who knows whether or not the meat in those is from cow-Cows or people-Cows.
  • Implied Death Threat: Threatens to turn anyone who sleeps in his burger bed into a Cow.
  • Mad Scientist: Given his mannerisms and how he immediately cloned a cow on the first day. Then it turns out he IS the Ultimate Mad Scientist.
  • Medium Awareness" It's heavily implied that Tetsu is aware that he's in an rp, given that he has been known to interact with the roleplayers in character.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Has crossed it many times in his life, but possibly the biggest is when he transformed Jiang, an innocent Chinese girl, into a Cow for his own sick satisfaction. If this didn't cut it, his petty murder of Takaika probably did.
  • Odd Friendship: With Anna. They bonded over farm animals in chapter 2 and he cloned a sheep for her since she liked cows and sheep.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Demetrio's Blue Oni. Tetsu is eccentric and prone to being emotional as opposed to Demetrio, who is stoic.
  • Scare the Dog: Scares Emiko after she summoned him, as well as most of the cast.
  • Sixth Ranger: Joins the cast at the beginning of chapter 2.

    Tetsuya Hironori

Tetsuya Hironori

Played by: Evian

“I-I was so scared - so angry - so just - I-I - I wanted it all to stop-! E-Everything... I-I wanted to escape - e-even going to jail seemed so much better than staying there and dying at the hands of my own family...!”
The Ultimate Confectioner. He was 19 years old. He is killed in chapter 7.
  • Alpha Bitch: Due to the Heebie Jeebies motive, Tetsuya ends up insulting the others for a variety of reasons. His most frequent target was Ezekiel due to how the guitarist treated him.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: On two occasions has shown a ruthless side. In chapter 1 he punched Ezekiel, and in chapter 2 he cracked Loki's nose and ribs the second time they came to blows.
  • Break the Cutie: His issues with depression, the various injuries he sustains throughout the game and the mental stress of it all eventually leads to this. Luckily, after attempting to kill himself following the motive in Chapter 3, this becomes more of a Heal the Cutie as Tetsuya actively tries to better himself.
    • This trope comes back into play during chapter 4, where Rory is revealed to be a serial killer.
  • Cain and Abel: Shares this dynamic with his twin brother Sora. Tetsuya told Loki and Rory that he tried to kill his brother because his brother was the favorite, with this info being confirmed by Word of St. Paul.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has brown hair and brown eyes. The only character to have this trait interestingly enough.
  • The Cynic: After Ezekiel dies, Tetsuya gets more and more cynical. He's gotten to the point that he's given up all hope in escaping.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Tetsuya suffers from the definition of a bad backstory. Being the victim of physically and mentally abusive, neglectful rich parents and being the twin brother of an affluent gifted child, it's no wonder where all of his issues stem from.
  • Death of a Thousand Cuts: How he is found.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has his moments, especially on the Spookspad. See the Quotes section for examples.
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. He doesn't remember what happened, but he ended up destroying Room 1's door under Kal's possession.
  • Desperately Craves Affection: Poor guy actually does want a hug. That being said he Hates Being Touched, except for the monster that ended up treating him like a son.
  • The Dog Bites Back: When Ezekiel insulted him in chapter 1, Tetsuya responded by punching Ezekiel. This unfortunately caused Roark to send a swarm of bugs after them.
  • Dramatic Dislocation: Under the Heebie Jeebies motive, Tetsuya gets an arm and leg dislocated, courtesy of Loki, though Loki does relocate the limbs.
  • Driven to Suicide: Tetsuya has attempted suicide three times, once before the game and twice during. Luckily, however, this seems to be improving... Briefly
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: Possesses these. Even when smiling, Tetsuya's eyes often seem to be dull, empty, or sometimes even flat-out blank at times.
  • Extreme Doormat: He has barely any confidence in himself, nor any self-esteem. As such, he's very prone to just letting people walk all over him.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Tetsuya during the Heebie Jeebies motive. While afflicted with the disease, Tetsuya's personality was switched to that of a sadistic bully, who took pleasure in hurting others (and, consequently, provoking them into hurting him). Luckily, the disease wears off once Kenway's death takes place.
  • Facial Horror: Suffers this thanks to Roark's demon with his face getting scratched up.
  • Friendless Background: Due to his parents locking him in a room, he didn't have any friends growing up.
  • Grew a Spine: Due to Rory's influence, Tetsuya grows a spine and immediately starts fighting with Nagase. He continues to hate the latter even after Nagase is executed. Subverted after King beat up Tetsuya.
  • Hates Being Touched: Anytime he's been hugged, he freezes. This is especially noticeable when Loki attempts to hug him early on.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Decides to be friends with Rory... A cold-hearted serial killer.
  • Leave Me Alone!: Tells this to Loki in chapter 1 when the latter attempts to comfort him after Roark's death.
    • Then he asks Rory to do this briefly in chapter 4
    • Morality Chain: To Rory. Due to Tetsuya's complete trust in him (as well as willingness to stay with him) has caused Rory to fall in love with Tetsuya.
  • No Social Skills: Due to his backstory, he has trouble interacting with the others.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted to an extent. His first name is similar to Dr. Tetsu's first name.
  • Pitbull Dates Puppy: The Puppy to Satoshi's Pitbull. Tetsuya is rather timid and can't really fight while Satoshi is a killer.
  • Shrinking Violet: He hates bringing attention to himself, and tends to shrink away from praise. He's frequently seen by himself, especially after Banko dies.
  • Sweetbaker: Considering his talent is literally Ultimate Confectioner, this shouldn't be any real surprise.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Managed to outrun the bugs Roark summoned in chapter 1 while dragging Ezekiel along.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Yukan ends up giving him Ezekiel's necklace, since the two of them were best friends
  • Trauma Conga Line: Banko being the killer, Kenway dying, nearly drowning in chapter 3, and Ezekiel dying all happened in rapid succession for Tetsuya, and this worsened his suicidal thoughts
  • True Companions: With Loki. Despite them butting heads over the other's friends (Loki despises Rory and Tetsuya despises Nagase) they always support each other.
  • The Unfavorite: Mentions to Loki and Rory during the Heebie Jeebies that he was the Unfavorite child of his family.
  • Workaholic: Played with. Is frequently seen making confections until he passes out.

    Yukan Tsubasa

Yukan Tsubasa

Played by: Verdant

"OH THANK FUCKING GOD IM STILL BLONDE-"
The Ultimate Aviator. She is 18 years old.
  • Break the Cutie: After Kenway dies in chapter 2, Yukan breaks and starts to sob. She then begs some of the other students not to die, afraid to lose them as well.
  • Bullying a Dragon: When Rory ended up hurting Tetsuya's feelings by calling him pathetic, Yukan decided to shoot Rory with a crossbow and taunt him. Despite managing to shoot Rory successfully... Rory ends up severely wounding her.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Implied. When talking to Loki about their past, she seem to remember something in her past. It's implied that her parents are abusive and that her habit of hiding in small places, as her inner monologue states that she is trying to avoid being like them.
  • Desperately Craves Affection: She loves hugs and didn't get many growing up. She is frequently seen hugging Loki early in the rp, though now she is also seen hugging King a lot. That being said...
  • Demonic Possession: Suffers this in chapter 1. Her demon gets a hold of Nagase's gun and promptly shoots Loki and Kenway with it.
  • Falling into His Arms: A non romantic version occurs in the school. Yukan got stuck on the ceiling light, and wound up jumping to get down. Thankfully Loki caught her.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Has blonde hair and is a sweet girl.
  • Hates Being Touched: Doesn't really like being touched except if it's someone she trusts.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Has this dynamic with Kenway. Kenway is 8'0, Yukan is 4'6 and the two of them are best friends.
  • The Napoleon: Is prone to being aggressive despite her stature.
  • Trigger-Happy: During the first motive, Yukan gets possessed and her possessed self discovers that she has Nagase's gun. She ends up shooting Kenway and Loki when they try to stop her.
  • Tragic Keepsake: A few of them
    • In the chapter 4 trial, Ayuna gives Yukan her scarf to remember her by before she is executed, and Yukan has been wearing it ever since.
    • In chapter 5, she ends up with one of Kristina's flowers and Kenway's earrings. Kristina left them to her before her death
  • True Companions: With Loki. While they didn't know each other well at first, the two of them have fallen into a sibling dynamic, especially after Loki saved Yukan's life. Sure, they often tease each other and might argue at the other, but they have each other's backs if the other is in trouble.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Tries to fight Scilla and almost dies doing so.

  • And I Must Scream: They never got to move into the afterlife, and their soul is degenerating and twisting into something evil.
  • Disappointed in You: Never stated to King's face but when they found out that King was in the Killing Game and he hasn't really changed, Altair gave an expression of displeasure... And King could suddenly feel it from several rooms.
  • Game Face: Altair has the ghost version of this. When they are calm, they tend to materialize at themselves. When they are angry, they are just glowing eyes in a vortex of shadows.
  • Moment of Weakness: When Altair is first introduced in the roleplay, Loki unfortunately bore the brunt of their anger. After Loki managed to talk to them, Altair seemingly calmed down, and their next appearance had them calmly assist the heroes however they could.

Thrym/ Skuld Nohr

One of the spirits that originally showed up during the possession motive, and ended up possessing Loki. After the chapter 3 trial, it's revealed that she has been following Loki around to keep an eye on them, because she is Loki's dead girlfriend Skuld Nohr, the Ultimate Police Officer.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Loki implies that she lost her leg some time ago.
  • Affably Evil: Sure they possessed Loki but didn't actually do much to the other students. Given that she is Loki's dead girlfriend...
  • Game Face: Skuld has the ghost version of this. In anger, she turns into a dark vortex of shadows, but otherwise returns to her normal appearance.
  • Jacob Marley Clothes: Averted. Given that she died in a hospital, she should have been wearing hospital scrubs, but instead she is seen wearing a police officer's uniform.
  • The Lost Lenore: To Loki. Her death affected Loki to the point that they began to worry excessively about others because of what happened to her.
  • Pet the Dog: Word of St. Paul has admitted that Thrym is the ghost keeping an eye on Loki, and Loki confirms that Thrym has been keeping an eye on them when they run into Thrym in chapter 3.

  • A satanic circle is found in the woods.

  • Scilla announces the rules of the game. The students are forced to remain in Spirithand for the rest of their lives - However, there is a way to escape. To escape, a student must kill one of their peers and go through a class trial without being convicted, which would then lead to all of the students being executed, and the blackened going free. However, if the killer is convicted, only they alone are executed, and the game continues.
  • Nagase tries to shoot Scilla, but Scilla is unharmed.
  • Yukan also attacks Scilla, but the flower shoots out an array of deadly vines; almost stabbing the aviator to death.
  • The killing game has begun.

    Chapter 1

Pre-Motive

  • Loki rushes Yukan to the hospital and manages to barely save her life.
  • Rory offers to help, but Loki rejects his assistance.

The Motives

  • Scilla gathers all of the students and tells them that they have two motives. One of them is a possession motive. The students will be possessed one by one by different demons, but they won't remember what happened. The second motive is that if the student gets away with murder, they can bring someone back from the dead.

Important Events

  • Tetsuya is the first student possessed, and he gets possessed by a demon named Kalvazith right after the motive is announced. While Kalvazith was a calm spirit for the most part, it got angry when Roark locked the door to Room 1 out of fear, causing him to burst down the door, making the child pass out from fear.
  • Loki is the second student possessed, and they get possessed by a demon named Thrym. However, Thrym does not do much to the students.
  • Loki and Nagase start to gain mutual feelings for eachother.
  • Nagase is the third student possessed by a demon named Poppy. He promptly goes berserk and attacks most of the students. He shots Emiko and locks some people in the freezer Ezekiel ends up exorcising him to protect everyone, revealing him as the only one who can exorcise the demons. Yukan picks up Nagase's gun.
  • Roark gets possessed by a wild and feral spirit, of which completely trashes Room 1, and ends up injuring Nagase, Loki, Kenway and Tetsuya.
  • Banko and Tetsuya, having become close friends, decide to collaborate in throwing a party to lighten everyone's spirits.
  • Scilla provides everyone with costumes. Some students wear them, some reject them.

The Death

  • At the party, everyone is celebrating when Sou, the SHSL Survivalist, eats a cupcake and falls dead.

Investigation

  • Loki and a few others immediately rush to Sou's side and examine the body. Others either loiter around, go out to investigate, or otherwise retreat to clear their heads.
    • Sou's face is blue, and he has blood around his mouth.
    • A half-eaten cupcake is found close to his body.
  • Ayuna, in the middle of the night, claims to have heard someone mumbling to themselves, saying things like, "Is it worth it?" and "This is the one chance I'll have to see...". Ayuna was unable to make out who it was, as the words were extremely slurred.
  • Ezekiel claims that Sou was possessed the day before the murder.
  • Tetsuya reveals that the people in the kitchen, and therefore, the people working with the cupcakes were Tetsuya, Banko, Emiko, Ezekiel and Caolán.
  • Nagase discovers a bottle of poison hidden under his pillow.

An Unfortunate Tragedy

  • Before the trial can go underway, Roark discovers something about the town of Spirithand and goes to confront Scilla about it. After whispering to Scilla what happened, Scilla murders Roark by turning him into several butterflies, causing him to die in Tetsuya's arms and in front of Susumu. This event causes the students' morale to nearly shatter in grief.
  • Tetsuya and Susumu both run off in grief after this, both having been close to the bug catcher.
  • Altair Saros, one of the previous victims of the Urushido Manor, returns as a spirit.

Trial and Execution

  • Everyone gathers in the library, in which they are soon transported to the trial grounds, designed to match Sou's general aesthetic; a jungle esque area.
  • Immediately, suspicion lands on the five students known to be assisting with the food at the party; Banko, Tetsuya, Emiko, Caolán and Ezekiel.
  • Plenty of evidence is pointed at Ezekiel and Banko, in particular. Both were assisting with the party, and both inhabited Room 2, where the bottle of poison was found under Nagase's pillow.
  • Noting inconsistencies, Loki, Susumu, and Ezekiel lead the discussion to the truth bullets.
  • It is revealed that Roark had developed a theory prior to their death; they believed Banko was the killer, as the stargazer had previously mentioned having lost a twin sibling, which could correspond to the second motive.
  • Evidence points strongly towards Banko Imai, the SHSL Stargazer, who winds up cracking and admitting that he was the killer.
  • Banko's twin sibling, Genko Imai, the SHSL Spirit Medium, had murdered and was executed in the Urushido Manor event. Banko was one of the many people possessed during the motive, and upon being possessed, Banko became curious and mournful about the twin sibling he barely got to know and wanted to try to speak with them again to create the bond they never had, which the second motive allowed for him to do, if he killed. Banko asked for Tetsuya's assistance in hosting a party, where while setting up the food, he poisoned one of the cupcakes, meaning that Sou's death was merely a chance; anyone could have been killed if they had eaten that cupcake. Then, Banko returned to Room 2, hiding the poison under Nagase's pillow, and promptly going to sleep.
  • Banko is dragged away by ghosts and executed in front of everyone; a solemn end to a wild and emotionally devastating first chapter.
  • The students return to the Town Square, and Chapter 1, Say It Ain't Sou, ends.

    Chapter 2

Pre-Motive

  • New areas have been unlocked, and the students investigate them.
  • The students try to recover and move on from the trial and the deaths, struggling to find hope in their situation. However, as more formidable members of the group step up and take charge, life slowly starts to return back to how it was.
  • However, a bit before the motive, a strange occurrence happens. An army of strange, giant men - later revealed to be clones of "King", a survivor of the Urushido Manor event, stampedes through the town, taking everyone with them. At the end of it all, a stranger suddenly rides into town on a Hello Kitty motorbike, introducing himself as Demetrio Castello, the SHSL Mobster. Demetrio joins the cast in Spirithand, and becomes apart of the killing game.
  • Later that same day, Emiko goes to the newly opened Burger Room, finding a mysterious chant to be enacted in front of a mirror awaiting her there. Emiko engages in the chant, and when it's completed, her reflection shifts to showcase someone new in the mirror. Tetsu Nakamura, the SHSL Geneticist, steps out of the mirror, and after a little bit of confusion, also joins the group as apart of the killing game.

The Motives

Scilla reveals that there are two motives: the first is a secrets motive, with students getting the secrets of another student, but they cannot admit which one is their own. The second is the Heebie Jeebies motive, where some students are affected and start acting much differently than before, implying to show off what they truly despair. The following students are affected:

  • Ezekiel is nicer to everyone, and does not mind being put down verbally.
  • Deirdre becomes more emotional and acts before thinking.
  • Tetsuya becomes a sadistic bully and becomes much more violent and aggressive towards others.
  • Loki becomes more impulsive and much more violent (or at least, reacts much more violently quickly).
  • Ezekiel is nicer to everyone, and does not mind being put down verbally.
  • Caolán is prone to swearing and speaking his mind.
  • Kenway becomes much more emotional and shows his emotions more.
  • Milk becomes paranoid and anxious, avoiding everyone at all costs.

Important Events

  • Deirdre, under the effects of the disease, immediately knocks out Tetsuya, who was taunting and belittling the other students.
  • Tetsuya and Loki frequently get into fights due to their diseases and end up injuring the other on numerous occasions.
  • Rory and Loki investigate the hotel, where Scilla introduces the topic of the muns - strange, god-like creatures, who watch everything from above.
  • It's revealed that Rory and Nagase know each other from past experiences, and seem to hate each other because of it. The two get into a conflict, and Nagase warns Loki to stay away from the negotiator.
  • Demetrio saves Deirdre's life after the latter gets into a fight with Scilla. However, she drops her knife, which was picked up by Tetsu. Loki retrieves the knife.
  • Rory tries to assist the diseased and violent Tetsuya - and seems to get through to him, breaking through the confectioner's illness on a number of occasions. This is the beginning of Tetsuya and Rory's close friendship.
  • Kenway and Kristina fall in love, and share their first kiss.

The Death

  • Kenway Uhtric, the SHSL Bodyguard, is found dead in the school.
  • Enraged and filled with grief by Kenway's death, Kristina attacks Scilla and is stabbed, much like how Yukan was in the prologue. Luckily, she survives.

Investigation

  • Kenway has a large bruise on the left side of his chest and has broken ribs. There is also a cut on his ankle.
  • There is a note in Kenway's pocket, asking him to meet the writer of the note in the music room.
  • In the music room, a number of things are amiss.
    • There is blood found splattered around the entrance.
    • Scattered metal parts lie around.
    • A piece of piano wire is missing.
    • A portion of the room is set up strangely, with a bunch of speakers piled up on each other, and hooker parts hanging off them.
  • In the pool, a rope and some ashes are found.
  • Loki claims that Kenway had been acting strange and sluggish all day; however, Kenway denied that anything was wrong.
  • Susumu claims that when he woke up in Room 3 that morning, two people had already left. However, he was too tired to question it.

Trial and Execution

  • The students are directed to the trial room for this chapter - a circus show themed trial ground, based off an element of Kenway's backstory.
  • The students reveal the secrets that they all have. During this, a number of revelations come to light.
    • Someone is a sadistic serial killer.
    • Someone is secretly the Ultimate Oracle.
    • Someone is secretly the Ultimate Cult Leader.
    • Two people have or had ties to the mafia.
  • Upon drying out the subject of secrets, attention turns to the occupants of Room 3, after Susumu gives his testimony. He claims that he woke up early on the morning of Kenway's death, and noticed that two people were already gone. As Kenway was an occupant of Room 3, it was assumed that one of the missing people was Kenway; however, the identity of the second person was unknown.
  • Ezekiel suggests that everyone in Room 3; Caolán, Anna, Susumu, Takaika and Milk; write a sentence on his arm using Susumu's pen. This was to see if anyone's handwriting matched with a note adressed to Kenway, which was uncovered earlier in the trial.
  • However, Anna Ovsta, the SHSL Seamstress, refuses, and suspicion is directed at her. Upon the weight of all the evidence, she breaks down.
  • Anna reveals her true name and identity to be Alice Ovsta, revealing that she stole her twin sister and the real Anna's name and talent after she got mauled by a pack of wolves, permanently injuring her - Alice herself is talentless. Alice believed that Kenway had her secret. In a fury of rage, both Loki and Kristina, Kenway's closest friends, punch Alice.
  • Anna is executed, and the students are returned back to the town square. Chapter 2, Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, ends.

    Chapter 3

Pre-Motive

  • New areas unlock, allowing the students to investigate them
  • Loki runs into Rory, and after some talk and accusations, Loki discovers that Rory is secretly the serial killer mentioned in the last trial, and is pretending to be kind to gain the trust of the cast. Upon Rory's threatening, the two agree to keep this revelation secret, a strong rivalry and mutual hatred sparking between them.
  • Loki, Kristina, and Deirdre all reveal their secrets to each other while swearing to keep said secrets, well, secret.
    • Loki reveals that their mother was a serial killer, murdered their father and attempted to murder them and their siblings. Kristina reveals her true talent as the SHSL Oracle, and Deirdre reveals her true talent as the SHSL Cult Leader.
  • Ayuna finds several shirts that state "United We Fall" in the newly opened clothing shop, of which she sends pictures of to the group chat.
  • Susumu, upon getting provoked and enraged by Scilla, attempts to attack it - only to get injured.
  • Demetrio begins making notes on everyone in the killing game's weakness. Demetrio and Tetsu play Mario Kart.
  • Continuing its vicious rampage, Scilla attacks Tetsuya throws into the pool area. Ezekiel, of whom up to their point, had mutual hate for Tetsuya due to events in the previous chapters, rescues him and brings him to the hospital. Ezekiel starts to become inspired by his own actions, and decides to try and change himself for the better.
  • Ezekiel finds a rat, and surprisingly doesn't eat it, as per his change of heart. Instead, it becomes his pet.
  • Caolán discovers that Scilla attacked Susumu, and in a rage, attacks the flower. Unfortunately, just like Susumu and Tetsuya before him, he gets beat up by Scilla.

The Motives

  • Scilla announces that the motive is a body swap motive. The following students swap bodies:
    • Tetsuya and Ezekiel
    • Rory and Deirdre
    • Nagase and Mimi
    • Loki and Kristina
    • Ayuna and Yukan
    • Caolán and Demetrio
    • Susumu and Takaika
    • Emiko and Tetsu
    • Milk did not swap.
  • The other motive is that if someone gets away with murder, they'll have one wish granted.

Important Events

  • Tetsuya attempts to stab Ezekiel in an attempt to kill himself through killing his own body while not in it, his suicidal thoughts having finally escalated to an all-time high. However, he fails, only succeeding in stabbing Ezekiel in the shoulder.
  • Monsters attack the students, injuring some, stalling some and even kidnapping a few, to be swiftly returned later. Loki gets injured, before a mysterious power drives the monsters away; the "mysterious powers" being that of Kristina's oracle talents, as Loki was swapped into her body.
  • Tetsu discovers that Sans is in Smash Bros. This stuns him enough that he has to sit and meditate for a while over this information.
  • Following the monster attack, Tetsuya and Ezekiel have a conversation in the hospital, where Tetsuya apologises tearfully for his actions. Ezekiel confesses that he shares similar thoughts and urges to the confectioner, and the two start to become friends.

The Death

  • The students wake up in their own bodies suddenly. After some searching, the students find Takaika Akana, the SHSL Jazz Singer, lying dead in the dining room.

Investigation

  • Demetrio is neutral about the scene, resulting in Loki attempting to punch him. Some students, such as Demetrio and Loki, investigate the body, while others loiter, and others go elsewhere.
  • Takaika's head is busted open, with a dumbbell beside her.
  • There is a note at the crime scene, reading, "With this bloodshed, I am one step closer to my Salvation".
  • At the top of the stairway, there appears to be a pully system in place, directly above the victims.
  • There are footprints and drag marks leading to Room 1.
  • There is a note found under Caolán's bed in Room 3. It appears to be a guide on how to build a pulley system. "1.) cut through the Middle of a wire hanger. 2.) put a thread spool Onto the bottom of the hanger and bend it closed. 3.) hang the pulley system on a rod Or a dowel..." and the steps go on.
  • Milk claims that while she was talking to Susumu in the dining room, she thought she saw someone with blonde hair, hiding behind the wall above the two at the top of the stairway.
  • Yukan claims that she saw Demetrio going through the dump.
  • Susumu claims that shortly after their conversation in the dining hall, Milk left. However, not too long after, he, in Takaika's body, felt a sharp pain in his head, and suddenly he woke up in his own body again.
  • Rory claims had brought back dumbbells from the gym to Room 1 for personal use. Approximately before the murder, however, he had noticed that they were missing.

Trial and Execution.

  • The trial is a mess, due to evidence being tampered with. Alibis regarding the body-swapping are confused and muddled, causing great confusion whin the cast. However, Milk's testimony starts to get things on track; whoever the culprit is had to have less than average strength and blonde hair, thus implicating Yukan, Ayuna, Susumu and Emiko.
  • Kristina nearly admits that Deirdre is the cult leader.
  • Yukan reveals she saw Demetrio at the dump - which causes confusion, as Caolán, who was in Demetrio's body, denies being there, as does Demetrio, who was in Caolán's body. However, Yukan clarifies and says that she saw Emiko's body, but the person inhabiting the body falsely claimed to be Demetrio.
  • Emiko suddenly realises a clue in a mysterious note found. In the note, certain letters are capitalised, and when bringing it all together, it spells one word; "MOO". Suspicion is immediately cast onto Tetsu - a known cow lover, and also the person who swaped with Emiko.
  • Tetsu Nakamura, the SHSL Geneticist, or as it's revealed, the SHSL Mad Scientist, is revealed to be the killer. He reveals he murdered Takaika... To reunite with a cow, of whom used to be a lover he genetically modified. Tetsu's apparent cow obsession, which was something that was often joked about, quickly becomes something sinister and twisted, as Tetsu goes into depth about his experiments.
  • Understandably so, Emiko is shattered after this; the revelation that it was her body used to murder Takaika striking a chord in her.
  • Enraged because Tetsu murdered Takaika for a very odd/stupid reason, Loki steals Nagase's gun and shoots Tetsu. This doesn't kill him, however, allowing Loki to avoid punishment.
  • Tetsu is dragged off to his execution. He tries to escape but fails, and the cast is let out once more to the Town Square. Chapter 3, We've Got Beef, ends.

    Chapter 4

Pre-Motive

  • New areas unlock, allowing the students to investigate them.
  • Demetrio gets into a fight with Scilla, resulting in an impalement. However, he feels almost no pain from it.

The Motives

  • Scilla announces that the motive is a monster motive, turning the students into monsters. The following changes occur:
    • Nagase is now a cat.
    • Yukan is now a gryphon.
    • Rory is now a voodoo doll.
    • Caolán is now a goatman.
    • Susumu is now a skeleton.
    • Loki is now a zombie.
    • Kristina is now a werewolf.
    • Tetsuya is now a chocolate monster.
    • Ezekiel is an alien.
    • Interestingly enough, Demetrio is the only student unaffected.
  • The students are also told that if they kill the traitor, they can escape the island without a trial.

Important Events

  • Loki and Nagase attempt to restrain and lock up Rory in the library while he is in his doll form, fearing that he may harm someone or cause damage, leading to the following events happening:
    • Rory is publically revealed by Kristina to actually be Ultimate Interrogator and a vicious serial killer, responsible for the savage tortures and deaths of many. It's also revealed that Rory was merely pretending to be friendly to the other cast members, quickly revealing his true, cruel colours.
    • Kristina publically reveals herself to be the Ultimate Oracle, citing this as the reason behind how she knows Rory's true intent.
    • Nagase's mafia ties are revealed.
    • Tetsuya's trust in Rory is completely destroyed, mentally breaking the confectioner. The two's close friendship splinters and Rory finds himself without any allies,
  • Ezekiel decides to throw a concert at the stage area, inviting everyone to come watch as a distraction from te fane,

The Death

  • During the concert, Ezekiel Rosario, the SHSL Guitarist, is suddenly electrocuted in the middle of a song, frying his body and killing him.

Investigation

  • The students revert back to their human forms.
  • The electric system of the entire stage area has been fried, and it's soaking wet.
  • There's water all over the floor of the stage room, and there are footprints in the water. They leave a track which leads to Room 2. There is also water dripping from the ceiling at the far back of the stage.
  • There are three buckets found beside the stage. However, only the outsides of them are wet—not the insides.
  • Ezekiel's guitar is still hooked up to the large speaker, however, the wire connecting it is burned and fried.
  • Anna's spirit returns briefly to give information on the afterlife, before disappearing.
  • Some kind of note is found on top of Ezekiel's bed. However, it's completely soaked, making it unreadable.
  • Before the performance, Demetrio could have sworn he'd heard Ezekiel angrily grumbling something about getting water on himself.
  • During the panic as Ezekiel was killed, Kristina had heard somebody muttering to themself, something along the lines of, "Why was it that brutal, I didn't think it would be—" but due to the panic and the number of people talking at once, it was too hard to make out the voice
  • Ayuna had a talk with Nagase a day before the concert. He told her that he highly suspected Ezekiel to be the traitor, and that something should be done about him.

Trial and Execution.

  • The students are transported to the trial ground; an old, vandalised rock stage, themed around the aesthetic of Ezekiel.
  • The students quickly figure that the death is most likely as a result of the motive; kill the traitor, and escape without trial. However, since the trial commenced, it's assumed that Ezekiel was not, in fact, the traitor, even if someone thought he was.
  • The stage was set up so that Ezekiel and the stage would be doused with water, hitting the wires and components, and thus electrocuting anything connected to them, thus the guitar he was holding.
  • Watery footsteps were found outside Room 2, which brought suspicion upon one specific person.
  • Ayuna Kazuo, the SHSL Skateboarder, can't hold it in anymore and confesses to the murder. She took out Ezekiel thinking that he was the traitor, and left wet footprints behind because of her form - that being, Ayuna was a snowwoman. However, it's what Ayuna says next, that leaves the trial room in shock. Nagase told her that Ezekiel was the traitor.
  • Suspicion quickly falls on Nagase in regards of the traitor, Rory pushing and egging him on about his status, until the accountant relents. However, he continues to lie, and says that he merely thought that Ezekiel's change of heart was suspicious in his books. Even when certain members of the group tried to consider this... None of it made sense. Nagase Ejiro, the SHSL Accountant, had to be the traitor, betraying the group all along.
  • Ayuna is executed, and everyone is transported back to the town square. Chapter 4, An Electrifying Performance, ends.

    Chapter 5

Pre-Motive

  • New areas unlock, allowing the students to investigate them.
  • Nagase is confirmed by Scilla to be the traitor, breaking what little hope in him some of the other students had. Loki chooses to break up with Nagase for the moment. Nagase and Tetsuya start to develop a burning rivalry, due to Tetsuya's anger regarding Nagase's involvement in Ezekiel's death, as the guitarist was, at that point, his best friend.
  • Soon after the trial, Rory and Tetsuya travel to the newly opened lighthouse. Trying to ignore the thick tension between them, Tetsuya uses a key found in one of the other areas to unlock it; finding King, the Ex-SHSL Mobster, and one of the survivors of the Urushido event, locked inside. King had been broadcasting messages over the broadcast unknowingly throughout the course of the game, so while the students had known he was around somewhere, where was never exactly established.
  • Nagase, being reunited with one of his many partners, finally decides to propose to King - of which, the ex-mobster happily accepts.
  • Spirithand is revealed to be an island.

The Motives

  • Scilla gathers all of the students and tells them that they have two motives. One of them is a truth serum motive, forcing the students to tell the truth if asked a question. The second motive is that if a student gets away with murder, they can take someone out of Spirithand with them.

Important Events, part 1

  • Nagase and King have a public argument in front of the other students. Harsh words are exchanged, and the group's opinion's of Nagase continue to drop.
  • Roark's spirit briefly returns
  • Thanks to the truth serum motive, Rory admits his guilt to Tetsuya about everything that went wrong regarding their relationship in the previous chapters. Tetsuya hesitantly forgives him and the two start to rekindle their friendship.
  • Despite warnings from the other students, Loki decides they want to hear out Nagase's explanations regarding his actions. Nagase explains that he isn't a willing traitor; the mastermind behind it all was purposefully holding King captive with the threat of his death, and Nagase merely continued to play along to protect King. Now that his role as the traitor was exposed, the mastermind had no more use for keeping King locked in there, thus why they left the key out in the open for someone to find.

A Fun Game

  • Scilla asks the students to write in questions anonymously into a cardboard box, promising that they won't be shown. However, as with everything that Scilla does... They absolutely were not telling the truth.
  • After receiving the questions, Scilla ushers the students to a game section, where the questions will be asked publicly. If a student refuses to answer, they will receive an additional motive on top of the current motives.
  • Kristina is asked if she can predict what the next deaths will be. She refuses to answer, and winds up getting a rehash of the Heebie Jeebies motive.
  • Demetrio is asked what mafia he works for. He dodges the questions, and winds up getting the Heebie Jeebies motive
  • Tetsuya asks Nagase if he feels guilty about Ezekiel's death. Nagase admits that he does.
  • Loki asks Nagase who the mastermind is. Nagase tells King to hold Loki back and tells them that he loves them, and right as he tries to speak, he gets stabbed.
  • Enraged by this, Loki attempts to stab Scilla. Unfortunately, Scilla stabs them in response, too.
  • Nagase and Loki are both frantically rushed to the hospital, and a question is asked over the broadcast anonymously, "Why are you doing this?"

Important Events, part 2

  • Yukan, not feeling as though the interrogator deserved Tetsuya's forgiveness after what he did to him, attempts to attack Rory, and both of them are seriously injured.
  • Kristina also attacks Rory, and she ends up with serious injuries, too. However, this time, Rory gets away unscathed. Rory starts to become more and more of a threat within the group; however...
  • Rory slowly starts to gather an unreturned crush on Tetsuya - a feeling that he has never felt before. Eventually, this feeling quickly begins to spread into love for the confectioner. Love that he knows won't be mutual, as Tetsuya already has a partner outside the game.

The Deaths

  • Entering the field, the students discover Kristina Menendez, the SHSL Oracle's body, tied up and crucified like a scarecrow. As they investigate, they hear noises in the lighthouse and rush over there, and discover the body of Mimi, the SHSL Gunpla Model, at the entrance.

Investigation

  • Kristina has no severely mortal wounds, but several puncture wounds all over her body. She appears to have therefore died from blood loss.
    • Kristina's mouth appears to have been forcibly held shut with a length of duct tape. Her arms have also been secured further to the cross by the same means.
    • Kristina's hands and feet are secured to the cross by being impaled by steel nails. They appear looser around her hands, as if she attempted to pull her hands away.
    • Kristina has a bruise on the front of her forehead. It looks like a blow forceful enough to have rendered her unconscious.
    • Kristina was apparently carrying a small taxidermy rabbit's head in her pocket.
  • A note lies in the rain of the fields, more or less soaked through. The text is barely legible. "Go to —gh-h-us- w—hi- 10 m-nute-"
  • Mimi appears to have died near the entrance to the lighthouse, facing inward. She is lying in a pool of her own blood. There is a deep, crude wound at the top of her skull.
  • A hammer is found lying beside Mimi. It appears to be clean, except for where Mimi's blood has pooled around it.
  • Another hammer is found, much the same as the one lying by Mimi. This one is found a few feet away from the body, and appears to be covered in blood.
  • The table and two chairs inside the lighthouse are turned over, broken and splintered. The single plate that King had to eat off of during his stay here is smashed to smithereens. It's very chaotic. The broken furniture is at the back of the room.
  • At the end of one wall is the broadcasting system King used while he was trapped. It appears to be live and active. Anything said into it is broadcast across Spirithand.
  • Besides the broadcast system, set down near the microphone, is a confessional. It is on, but not recording.
    • Upon playing back the messages, the students hear the voice of Kenway. After a few recordings of Kenway's voice, there seems to be silence, indicating the time of which he died. Skipping forward, however, the sounds of the room being turned over, furniture breaking, and general chaos plays loudly. That is the last recording on the confessional.
  • Two hammers are found, one covered in blood, and the other squeaky clean.

Trial and Execution

  • The students find themselves in a trial ground, attempting to mix the aesthetics of Kristina and Mimi together.
  • From the beginning, the case of two bodies immediately confuses and spins the trial off-course. However, it's quickly established that the person who killed Kristina is not the same person who killed Mimi, due to the varying expertise present in their work, which then means either two separate people killed them individually, or one of them killed the other and was killed by someone else.
  • Debates spring out over the order of the deaths. Rory firmly believes that Mimi died first, while King believes the opposite. Rory remains firm and stubborn in his beliefs, unintentionally derailing the trial, until King and Caolán take charge.
  • King eventually proposes an idea; two premeditated murders occurred - one to kill Kristina, enacted by Mimi, who succeeds, and another by the other culprit, who killed Mimi.
  • People take note of the motive, and attention quickly turns to that of the couples being in the room - that being, Nagase with King and Loki, and Susumu with Caolán. Rory then calls out Susumu for his strange behaviour during the trial, accusing him of the death of Mimi.
  • Finally, Susumu Goto, the SHSL Business Guru, admits that he panicked and killed Mimi, hoping to take Caolán. his boyfriend and someone he thought would be a target, with him off the island, unaware of Kristina's death at Mimi's hands. Upon finding this out, Caolán becomes fearful and distraught, breaking down in tears in front of everyone.
  • Milk, Susumu's close friend and business associate outside the game, is enraged by this outcome and Susumu's oncoming fate, and attempts to attack Scilla. However, she sadly fails, and Susumu is executed.
  • Finally the students are transported to the town square, and Chapter 5, Business is Business, ends.

    Chapter 6

Pre-Motive

  • New areas unlock, allowing the students to investigate them.
  • On a set of TVs in the mall, a clip plays for a small group of students to watch. In the clip, a news reporter in a black cloak talks about Spirithand, and the occurrences on the island. He explains things along the lines of, "the citizens of Spirithand are sacrificing themselves for their crimes", and "Today is the day". The clip is ended with the words found on those shirts all those chapters ago... "United We Fall".
  • A tape is found in the caves, and is inserted into one of the TVs. A tape recording from an old lady, Nicole Parker, plays. She explains how her wife, of whom she adored dearly, was tragically killed in an explosion in the 70s, filling her with rage and intense sadness, doing everything she could to summon the spirit of her lost sweetheart. She accounts on how she finally found something; a book, with details on how to summon a spirit called Viunach, the world's most powerful demon, of whom could bring back the dead. Nicole summons Viunach, and it takes on the vessel of a flower; however, things only got worse.
  • Nicole explains that Viunach told her that it could bring her wife back; however, a price had to be paid in order for this to be reality. They convinced her that the death of her wife was everyone else's fault, and that she deserved revenge for their wrongs. As such, with Nicole's assistance, it brought thousands upon thousands of people to an isolated island named Spirithand, so far distant from the rest of the world it was barely even known, in which Nicole created a cult. Viunach mind-controlled all the people into following unquestioningly with Nicole's orders, and when Nicole finally came to the order that they all must kill themselves... they did it.
  • However, Viunach refused to stop there, and decided they would do it again, now that they were unleashed onto the world. Nicole, realising the errors of her ways, recorded the tape to tell anyone else who may have wound up on Spirithand Viunach's plans - however, she is interrupted by the flower itself, and the tape cuts off.
  • And with that information, the cast discovers the truth... Scilla was actually Viunach, the most power demon in existence.

The Motives

  • Scilla gathers all of the students and announces that if everyone doesn't kill within a specific timeframe, the whole island will blow up, killing everyone on it. Along with that, Scilla announces a secondary motive, in which every day, 5 people randomly switch places with their Muns, the mun becoming a part of the story and free to interact with the characters still in Spirithand, and the student becoming apart of the OOC chat and allowed to observe everything happening, much to the confusion and fear of the students.

Important Events

  • During the switchovers, not much occurred, aside from incidents in the OOC channels. The characters became sorely aware of their statuses in this world; fabricated puppets, living under the harshly constricting strings of the Muns up above, dictated to follow their every move.
  • The group began to lose hope in everything; finding it all pointless to continue, until the inevitable finally came.

The Deaths

  • One day, the switches suddenly seem to stop, evoking suspicion between the group. Suddenly, a loud explosion comes from the woods, leading people to the cave - where the bodies of Milk, the SHSL Social Media Model, and Deirdre Williams, the SHSL Cult Leader, are found, dead.

Investigation

  • Milk has a large bump on the side of her head, on the same side as her bloody ear. It isn't bleeding or anything, but it's still a pretty vicious bump.
  • Deirdre has a few bruises all over her body, especially around her arms
  • Both of the victims have blood in one of their ears—only in one side, however.
  • In the laboratory, there are various parts and ingredients to build a small bomb on one of the tables.
  • Stabbed into one of the shelves in the warehouse, there is an icepick that's fairly covered in blood.
  • Tetsuya claims to have seen King, Milk and Deirdre leave early while they were all occupied worrying about the explosion in the woods, all three seemingly going somewhere. He thought nothing of it at the time, though. Not long after, Milk and Deirdre were found dead in the cave.
  • Emiko claims that she was in her room, Room 1, when she had overheard a conversation through the wall to Room 2. It was too muffled for her to properly make out the voices, but it seemed to be two people discussing some sort of plan, with one person saying, "Are we making a mistake...?" and the other saying, "We've got this, this was your idea after all!".
  • Scilla claims that somebody—although they won't say who—had personally asked them to have a day where nobody was swapped with their muns, so that they could perform the murder, to which Scilla complied.

Trivia

    Trivia
  • Fake Nationality: Most of the characters are not actually played roleplayers of the same nationality.
    • Tetsuya, who is Japanese, is played by an Australian roleplayer.
    • Ezekiel, who is British, is played by an American roleplayer.
    • Kristina, who is Guatemalan, is played by a British roleplayer.
    • Loki, who is Icelandic, is played by an American roleplayer.
    • Caolán, who is Irish, is played by by an American roleplayer.
    • Nagase, who is Japanese American, is played by a British roleplayer.
  • One Mario Limit:
    • No, this Loki is not the one from the MCU or from Norse Mythology.
    • And while this Deirdre can use magic, she does not know any Sigurds from Fire Emblem.

  • Throw It In!: A lot of events and character traits that happen in the story are a result of the roleplayers asking if they can do something/imply something and Erica going, "Sure why not?"
    • The cats that show in Spirithand appeared because Vanitas showed a design of them and wanted to include them to give their character a pet.
    • Ezekiel acknowledging that he has pica comes from the roleplayers discussing the condition in one of the out of character channels.
    • Loki's frustration with typing occurred due to their roleplayer, Rin, frequently misspelling words to the point that it could possibly change the entire meaning of the sentence.

  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Happens frequently, as certain events happen and the roleplayers decide to go along with it. Part of this stems from roleplayers coming up with ideas as they roleplay, and others basically reacting to the situation.

YMMV

    YMMV
  • Adorkable: Tetsuya is rather shy and sweet, with a dash of clumsiness that shows up from time to time.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Anna really think of the other students as her friends? Or was that just a way to gain sympathy? Her actions at the trial seem to indicate the latter, telling everyone how much she resented them. That being said, she did tell Hisashi that she did view him as a friend, muddling her view on the matter.
  • Angst? What Angst?: The characters tend to go through very traumatic effects and then are seen smiling later. Subverted in a few cases. They're actually pulling a Stepford Smiler or attempting to forget their pain.
  • Base-Breaking Character: Dr. Tetsu Nakamura. He is either well loved for being a large ham, or hated for being a terrible person to the core.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: That Rory is a serial killer.
  • Catharsis Factor:
    • Loki shooting Tetsu before his execution, and then Tetsu's execution itself, was cathartic for several of the characters and roleplayers
    • Watching Hisashi and the rest of the ghosts kicking Tetsu when he arrives in the afterlife.
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
    • Nagase getting his ass handed to him by a ghost is terrifying. But said ghost being Dr. Phil?
    • The name of chapter 1. "Say it ain't Sou!" Horrifying since Sou died... But a hilarious pun!
    • Caolán roleplaying with Scilla, since Scilla kidnapped everyone... But Caolán is so over the top with his roleplay that he freaks out Rory, one of the mostly stoic characters.
    • Loki's reactions to Rory and Ezekiel's attempts to comfort them in chapter 3. It's really tearjerking to see Loki absolutely devastated, but the way that Loki's roleplayer describes this reaction as Loki rebooting like a computer is rather hilarious.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • There were two characters named Tetsu Nakamura and Tetsuya Hironori, and the roleplayers kept confusing them. This led to a joke that one of them needed to die and only one can live. Then Tetsu went Ax-Crazy in chapter 3 and Tetsuya Hironori ended up being the only Tetsu(ya) left.
    • Ezekiel ends up developing a nicer personality... And promptly dies in the next chapter.
  • Kristina promising to led the others for as long as she can... And then dies that same chapter.
  • Nightmare Fuel: This roleplay has it in spades.
    • Scilla, the flower mascot, growing human legs with fishnets and heels.
    • The Giants that resemble King. While it is humorous, it is horrifying to see the students get carried away like that.
    • The Body Discovery Announcements. They show how someone dies, and they are starting to get more horrifying as the roleplay goes on.
    • In a brief comment by Kristina, she mentions that Rory DISSECTS PEOPLE.
  • Tear Jerker: My god does this roleplay have these.
    • Roark's death in chapter one. Dying in Tetsuya's arm and in front of everyone else by getting turned into butterflies. The poor kid is scared as well, and no one can truly comfort them
    • Kenway's death. He was hit by a trap, and ended up dying alone. His friends all broke down after seeing his body, never expecting him to be dead. Kristina and Yukan were hit the hardest by his death, and their reactions are tearjerking as well.
    • Susumu's death. Several characters and roleplayers ended up in tears because he was so well loved and because he made a hasty decision.
    • Nagase's death. While it was tragic he killed two innocent people, he did it in order to save the other students - in particular Loki and King. And none of the characters barring Loki and King understood that it was out of Nagase's control.
  • Trolling Creator: Erica has been known to troll the other roleplayers, especially when it comes to events in the story - such as Ezekiel's death and the game show that led to Loki and Nagase getting stabbed. She also does this with motives as well.
  • What an Idiot!:
    • King reveals that he has a gun after joining the group.
You'd Expect: King to have tried to shoot his way out of the lighthouse, or shoot Scilla at the very least.
Instead: He was more concerned about preserving bullets.

Headscratchers

    Headscratchers

Why did the mastermind decide to grab Loki, who is a Forensic Nurse and thus knows how to examine the body for evidence, for this killing game?

  • It's quite possible that mastermind just grabbed people to extend their suffering. And besides, Loki was perhaps grabbed to ensure that the first trial or two go smoothly in order to make sure that the killing game doesn't end immediately.

How did the mastermind discover everyone's secrets?

Whose idea was it to throw a serial killer among the group?

  • Well Rory did admit that he was probably thrown in as a red herring...

How did Milk, Roark, Demetrio, and Tetsu even get to Spirithand? Scilla mentions them not being among the students chosen...

  • Well Tetsu came from a mirror.
  • Scilla flat out admitted they had no idea how Demetrio showed up.

Fridge

    Fridge
Weeping Willows may seem like a goofy roleplay, but it does occasionally have moments of brilliance and moments of horror.

Fridge Brilliance

  • Why is Anna, the Ultimate Seamstress? Because she is actually Alice, a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

  • All 3 killers so far were short and pastel. Played with Tetsu: He murdered someone shorter than him, but also someone taller and he doesn't have a pastel aesthetic. However, he committed said murder in Emiko's body... Who fits both of the criteria and was shorter than both of the victims.

  • Loki seems to be misnamed, given that they're a sweet person who is a Forensic Nurse and tries to help everyone. However, it turns out that Loki's name does fit them. Due to their friendly nature, it's a complete shock to everyone when they reveal their vengeful side and can mostly hold their own in a fight. They have also been known to trick other characters with what they say, and have a cruel side as well. For bonus points, Loki is genderfluid, similar to the Norse god himself (there's a myth where Loki gave birth to a horse, for instance).

Fridge Horror

  • Loki telling Susumu they've been shot at 17 times over the course of 4 years, and another time mentioning that they've been stabbed 15 times. That means that ever since they were 15, people have been actively trying to kill Loki.

  • Ezekiel's past.

  • Deirdre's past as well. While ill, she confuses Loki for Nikola and asks why "he" abandoned her. With her secret being that she's the Ultimate Cult Leader, it implies that Nikola abandoned her to be raised in the cult's ways.

  • Tetsuya's past. Tetsuya has mentioned having his bones snapped and broken on a weekly basis by his own family while still under their care. In fact, his family in general seems to be the definition of this trope, the abuse he suffered even escalating to the point where Tetsuya literally had to attempt to kill his own twin brother just to escape and not get killed by them.

  • Leaning towards And I Must Scream, but it's revealed in chapter 3 that, as the Ultimate Oracle, Kristina can see the inevitable future. This means that she has had premonitions of every death in the series, including Kenway's - and potentially even her own. One can only wonder why she still acts surprised, or even warns the others - it's possible that she simply lived in denial of her visions, or that Scilla is preventing her from warning the others or changing fate in some way.

  • The chapter three murder. Due to a Freaky Friday scenario, Takaika was the one killed... But Susumu was in her body and felt the murders. One has to wonder how Susumu didn't crack immediately realizing that.

  • The secrets that were revealed in chapter 2. There are several murderers and attempted murderers among the group, as well as one person raised in a cult and a cult leader.

  • The town itself. As the story goes along, it hints at something much more sinister.
    • The first area had a Satanic ritual circle. Chapter 3 states that it is PART of the reason why the townsfolk disappeared.
    • The second area reveals the hotel and the school. The hotel rooms sound like people are dying in them, but no one is there. The school looks like a mess, like a fight broke out and everyone left.
    • The arc words "United We Fall." They showed up as a poster then as a t-shirt.

Weeping Willows: The Town of Spirthand contains examples of:

  • Aborted Arc: Sometimes roleplayers get busy, forget about threads, or get interrupted by events, sometimes leaving certain threads to end abruptly.

  • Alternate Universe: While it does have tropes and themes associated with Danganronpa, the events in that universe do not exist. The only things they have in common are the killing games and the idea of Ultimates.
  • Anachronism Stew: The characters mention having cell phones, Tetsu can turn people into cows, and the characters find a tape recording, making it hard to pinpoint the year this takes place... Or at the very least, when Spirithand fell.
  • Anyone Can Die: Given that this is inspired by Danganronpa, this work takes that in mind. Demonstrated when Scilla murders Roark in the first chapter to make an example out of them.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: In the second chapter, the students are grabbed by giant versions of the character King and paraded around town. The students could not escape them and end up frazzle due to their shenanigans... Because the Kings were looking for chicken nuggets. This lead to them shooting the farm to look for chickens.
  • Ax-Crazy: During the Possession motive, multiple characters were possessed and became afflicted with this, with Nagase and Roark's possessions being the ones that caused the most damage.
  • Being Good Sucks: What the cast is discovering. While most of them attempt to cling onto their morals, tragedy still strikes.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: A few of the characters tend to do this on a few occasions.
    • Scilla is particularly fond of this trope and likes to tell the characters that their roleplayers (muns) like to torment them. The muns themselves broke the fourth wall at the end of chapter 2.
    • Tetsu is also fond of this trope, acknowledging comments from the roleplayers.
  • Body Horror: Part of the fourth motive revolves around the students having their bodies replaced with those of monsters. The students don't feel their body change, but they are left with the results.
    • Tetsuya became a chocolate monster that has the shape of a human.
    • Ayuna became an un-meltable snowman with a generic shape.
    • Nagase became a Chesire Cat.
    • Rory became a Voodoo Doll, with any injuries he sustains in that body will be transferred to his normal body. He's also much shorter.
    • Caolán became a goatman... And his clothes disappeared.
    • Ezekiel became an alien.
    • Yukan became a gryphon.
    • Loki became a zombie.
    • Susumu became a skeleton.
    • Deirdre became a Modron.
    • Kristina became a werewolf.
    • Emiko became a nightcrawler.
    • Milk became a Pillsbury Dough person.
    • Mimi became a Werepoltiger.
    • Demetrio is the only one who didn't visibly change.
  • Can Not Tell A Lie: The motive of the fifth chapter. Everyone is cursed to speak the truth and answer whatever they're asked. This ended up leading to fights and chaos because people were forced to admit what they really thought.
  • Crapsack World: The entire town is gloomy and looks like the aftermath of an apocalypse.
  • Demonic Possession: Part of the first motive revolves around this premise, causing the possessed students to (mostly) wreck havoc. Takaika, Caolán's, Milk, and Loki's demons didn't harm the students.
  • Due to the Dead:
    • Most of the cast pay their due to the dead, with Loki and Yukan closing the eyes of the deceased and a group of them attempting to bury the first deceased.
    • Subverted with the students killed in the executions, but in a Justified way given that the bodies are taken away from the group.
    • Subverted with some of the students who refused to bury the first body, though that was mostly due to them pointing out that Scilla was going to take the body away.
  • Dwindling Party: As the story goes on, more of the characters end up dying. Briefly subverted when Tetsu and Demetrio arrive, but played straight again with the next murders. And subverted once more with King's arrival.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Originally, the ghosts were able to talk to the students and the Ultimates would talk about conversations they've had with the ghosts. Then around the end of chapter one, the ghosts suddenly stop speaking and the characters act like they haven't been able to speak at all.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: Scilla has no qualms with showing up in the out of character channels to go after the roleplayers (muns). Or call them out.
  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: The motive of Chapter 3. Everyone is forced to swap bodies with another student and start to experience the memories of the person they swapped with.
  • History Repeats: Many themes or events from the previous killing game have repeated themselves:
    • A child shows up, and the mascot is unsure how the child showed up.
    • One of the Ultimates is an Ultimate Mobster.
    • The mascot grows legs and terrorizes the students
    • The mascot is also capable of breaking the fourth wall.
    • One of the motives is a bodyswap motive.
    • Someone's death in the bodyswap motive causes someone close to them to be utterly devastated.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Most of the cast seems to be wearing the same outfit all the time - or at least copies of the same outfit. Initially averted with Loki, but later played straight.
  • Not Himself: The motive of chapter 2. Several students are affected with this. They start to act differently (like Tetsuya becomes an Alpha Bitch and Ezekiel becomes nicer)... With a few students faking their symptoms as well.
    • In chapter 5, this happens again, but this time with two Ultimates not originally affected - Kristina and Demetrio.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted to an extent with Tetsuya Hironori, and Dr. Tetsu Nakamura.
    • Also averted to an extent with Rory Smith and Caolán [MacRory]
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: The ghosts in this story are monochrome, cannot speak (due to a Retcon), and if they lose purpose, can potentially degenerate into shadows.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: How the executions and other punishments work. If one commits a crime, then one must suffer a crime of similar or greater proportion.
  • Perpetual Storm: It's always raining in Spirithand. There hasn't been a single day without rain.

  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Sometimes a roleplayer can't be available, causing the characters to suddenly get hurt, straight up disappear, disassociate for hours, or leave suddenly.
  • Retcon: A few of them have occurred.
    • The ghosts went from being able to speak to the students to not being able to speak. This causes a case of Early-Installment Weirdness, especially with the students went from being able to talk to the ghosts to acting like they were aware that the ghosts could not speak in the first place.
    • Loki's age went from 20 to 19. Word of St. Paul explains that this was because of a character in the potential sequel was the same age as Loki, but was 19 in that story. It was easier to change Loki's age than it was to rewrite a lot of the backstory.
  • Shout-Out: Several of them throughout the roleplay.

  • Running Gag: There are several gags throughout the roleplay:
    • Whenever someone gets hurt, Loki immediately appears or someone tries to summon Loki, no matter what Loki is doing. This tends to irk Loki, given that many of their conversations or actions have been interrupted due to this. Justified given that Loki is the only certified and trained medic.
    • The Gnomes keep showing up to terrorize Susumu and Tetsuya, with one of them hitting on Tetsuya and Susumu having to initiate divorce proceedings to a family of gnomes later.
    • Scilla running around with their human legs. And yes that's as horrifying as it sounds, given that they grow heels and fishnets as well.
    • Ghost Dr. Phil returns to mess with the students.
    • Another gag is that the students are doing something mundane or looking for a way out... Only to run into a meme that's come to life.
    • Loki and Nagase constantly getting cockblocked - even in heartwarming moments. Someone always seems to interrupt them.
    • An unintentional one But barring Roark, the victims of the murders are the taller cast members, with the shorter cast members being the killers.
    • Mistaking the characters for someone else. Loki is a frequent victim, getting mistaken for others several times (and humorously, to people that look nothing like them).
    • King's rants on the broadcasts. They sometimes enter the weird territory.
    • Loki trying to punch Demetrio for a variety of reasons, with Demetrio not really feeling the punch.
    • Tetsu's methods of exiting rooms... They tend to be strange.
  • Small, Secluded World: The characters are trapped in the town of Spirithand. They can only travel as far as Scilla allows, but they cannot leave. Given that the town is an island....
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: In chapter 3's trial, Ezekiel acknowledges that due to the the motive, it would be hard to pin down who the killer is because they can fake their handwriting. They only got away with it in chapter 2 because the killer had a freak out when they were asked to verify their handwriting.
  • Waking Up Elsewhere: The roleplay starts in this manner, with the entire cast waking up in the rain outside.
    • Also happens if a character wakes up in the hospital due to injury or in another room due to exhaustion.
