Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

Thanks Nombre, and thanks for catching my goof with the location for The Room (RPG Maker).

EDIT: Also, at Film K To N, for The Musketeer, please remove "as played by Tim Roth" and fix the misspelling of "Richelieu".

Regarding Bibble Bobble, perhaps we can pass it off as a Wiki Trope and thus excuse its location in mainspace?

Can the following examples be added to Fifty Shades of Grey:

  • Safe Word: The standard "red" for "stop" and "yellow" for "slow down" are established in Chapter 11 of Fifty Shades of Grey, and it is implied that Ana could have stopped any sex that happened or was threatened after that point. However, the next two books establish very clearly that whatever Ana does regarding safewords, she's going to be wrong.
    • At the end of Fifty Shades Grey, Ana asks Grey to beat her as hard as he can to see if she can handle it. She hates it and leaves him because she can't deal with being hit that way. In Fifty Shades Darker, however, he says that they both behaved stupidly, demanding to know why she didn't safeword—never mind that she was testing his control and her own endurance, or that safewords had never been defined or explained to her.
    • Several months later, in Fifty Shades Freed, Grey is torturing Ana with orgasm denial while she is shackled to a piece of bondage furniture; this is quite literally revenge for her not being home when a kidnapper (and attempted rapist) arrived at the penthouse. Ana, for the first time in three books, screams, "Red!" Grey equates her safewording with someone attempting to kidnap her. Both, to him, are equally upsetting:
"A deranged asshole gets into my apartment to kidnap my wife. She won't do as she's told. She drives me crazy. She safe words on me."
  • Said Bookism: The books are very fond of 'murmur', even using it four times on one page. People are also fond of whispering things. Also, dialogue often gets tagged with actions, in some cases not by the actual speaker. This can make it quite hard to tell who's talking at any given time.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Beautiful!: Christian Grey's unparalleled hotness is often sufficient to make Ana forget about his latest bout of physically harming her, stalking her, bullying her into doing what he wants, etc.
  • Self-Made Man: Christian Grey calls himself this, saying he started up his business and has made it as large and influential as it is now, all by himself. He seems to forget that it was Elena Lincoln who gave him the starting capital for his business.
  • Self-Plagiarism: The trilogy started life as a Twilight fanfiction called Master of the Universe. When edited for publication, it remained 89% identical to its former self.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Anastasia Steele is entirely Christian Grey-sexual. At the age of 21, she never had attractions to men before meeting him and is not interested in other men. She has never even touched her body for her own pleasure and, in Fifty Shades Freed, has to be taught by Grey how to do so.
  • Sliding Scale of Gender Inequality: Strangely, Level 7 (Can't Stand Men, Can't Live Without Them) is where the series lands, with its rather unsympathetic portrayal of rich and powerful men and yet, strangely, it also combines it with Level 2 (Whores, Whores, Whores...) since it also implies that women are venal at heart and willing to do anything to latch onto a rich, powerful guy, especially if he's attractive.
  • Son of a Whore: Christan Grey's biological mother was a drug addicted prostitute who committed suicide when he was four because her pimp was abusive.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: This is Christian's idea of the 'place for a woman'. He practically mentions the trope itself, by saying that he would much prefer Anastasia to be nothing more than 'barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen'. He seems to have no problem with his second-in-command, Ross, being a working woman, but that might have to do with the fact that she is stated to be a lesbian.

Administrivia.Bibble Bobble is live, with a redirect at Main.Bibble Bobble. Add the former to Administrivia, and lock the latter, as normally administrivia pages don't get main redirects, and people might unwittingly change it, not knowing its true purpose. Add these to Locked Pages, under the "administrivia/policy" folder:

  • Administrivia

  • Main.Bibble Bobble: Normally, administrivia pages don't get main redirects. This is an exception, as the nature of the bug this article describes means the phrase Bibble Bobble occurs whenever the bug pops up, so it's blueshifted to direct people to the administrivia page.

Also, is it possible to get Recursion unlocked? As far as I can tell, a circular redirect is no longer possible, which is why this page is locked.

Thanks Drax. My bad Nombre [lol]

At Complete Monster, first goes to Comic Books, second to Fan Works:

"I just want to have a little fun. Maybe jump to a village in world A, kill a few people, upset the order, move on to world B, start some fires and send everyone in a terror, then on to world C where I manipulate a dictator or a crime lord for a while... and repeat ad infinitum until I die. Really, why would I ever want to conquer or rule? Ruling is such a messy business. With this, I can have as much fun as I like, doing whatever I like, wherever I like, and the sky's the limit."
—Masque, Pokémon: Storm Clouds

"If ever a man was aptly named, it was Tomas de Torquemada...called after the infamous Spanish inquisitor, his name was like some ghastly joke...It comes from 'Torque'—the Latin word for torture...and 'Quemada', which means 'the burning'."
—Nemesis the Warlock, 2000 AD prog 404.

And for Complete Monster (first to Tabletop Games, second to Western Animation):

At Marvel Literature, for Bazinda (90s novels), please wrap Suicide Attack around "crash-land into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier".

Please add this at the end of Shadow Chasers:

The TV series

  • Complete Monster: Doctor Randall, from "Parts Unknown", is the head of an organ trafficking ring that is operating out of Long Island. Using a health club called the Fitness Factory as a front, Randall fakes the deaths of the club's healthiest patrons by exposing them to a paralytic neurotoxin so that he can later dig up their graves and kill for them real by harvesting their organs for sale on the Black Market. When a pair of teenagers stumble onto the latest grave exhumation, it forces Randall's henchmen to quickly rebury the victim, who suffocates while trying to claw his way out of his coffin; the incident attracts the attention of Jonathan MacKensie and Edgar "Benny" Benedek of the Paranormal Research Unit. Randall is shown personally cutting the organs out of one of his abductees before having her disposed of, and he later tries to gun down both Jonathan and Benny to prevent his criminal enterprise from being exposed by PRU.

At Big Bra to Fill, please add:

  • Vampirella: Talisa Soto isn't as busty as Vampirella is typically drawn. Reportedly, Julie Strain (who was Vampirella's official model at the time) had originally been primed for the role, which would have averted this, but the director was overruled by Executive Meddling.

Similar to Marvel Comics and The DCU, please have the following at 2000 AD for examples with their own page(s):

Please then remove the Dredd examples and Anderson: Psi-Division from the 2000 AD page.

Do NOT lock the Dredd page yet.
