For Live Action Films:

  • Some Imagine Me & You fans like to ship Lena Headey and Piper Perabo, who played the forbidden lovers Luce and Rachel, due to their on-screen chemistry. It doesn't hurt that they both appeared in The Cave together or that they have been close friends for years in real life. Never mind that Piper is married to Stephen Kay and both women appear to be straight in real life. Look at most of the comments on this interview they did for the film and you will find fans speculating that they were attracted to each other or saying that they should be a couple in real life due to how adorable they are. The fact that when asked if they felt there should have been more sex scenes, Lena's answer was "Yes definitely. I felt robbed." doesn't help.

Been a while since I wanted to add something to Honest Trailers 2021 Episodes.

@New World

  • Starring... Running (The player running through the game), Watching the Gathering Meter go by Slowly (The player is shown mining an iron vein slowly), Gathering Bamboozle/Going to Pick Up the Shiny Thing, Then Realizing You Can't (The player walking up to Rivercress and finding they need Harvesting 30 to even get it), Just Let Me Camp/Trying to Find the Closest Place to the Landmark to Camp (The player trying to lay their camp down), More Running (Another shot of running), Getting Ganked by Fast Respawning Mobs (The player getting swamped by zombies that spawn just as fast as they kill them), Zillowing Virtual Houses You Can't Afford/Zillowing Houses You Can't Buy, Just Like in Real Life (The player walking in on someone's house), Being Over Encumbered Constantly (The player having too much weight for their inventory), MMO Weirdness/Typical MMO Weirdos (Players crawling up the steps while another runs up them normally), Epic Voice Guy doing an Epic Voice for some Epic Guy, So. Much. Running. (Another shot of running), and Help Me Step Explorer/Getting Stuck More Often than a Step-Sibling in a Pornhub Video (The player getting stuck randomly)

The slashes are the left being what's shown on screen and the right being what's said by the Narrator. For the Epic Voice Guy line, I didn't know the context of it, so I skipped it.

  • Shin Megami Tensei V: Lucifer defeated the Creator 18 years ago and ascended to a new form after forcing God to use his last forces to create a false Tokyo. Then, Lucifer boasts his victory to the surviving angels and quietly watches as the demons override the efforts of Bethel and attack humans. In the Empyrean, Lucifer discovers the reality of the Mandala Cycle and decides to break it to reach complete freedom. Allowing the existance of new Nahobinos and causing Bethel to fracture when they discover the truth, Lucifer also pushes the angel Abdiel into becoming a Fallen Angel to participate on the Divine Conflict. When the protagonist finally challenges Lucifer to take over the Empyrean, Lucifer congratulates him regardless of his choice and dies saying that the new world would surely be free.

@ Shotgun Stories

  • Big Fun: Boy is one of the paunchier characters in the movie, is more easygoing than his brothers, and coaches basketball for little kids.
  • Kick the Dog: Mark, possibly aided by John and Stephen, kills Boy's pet dog by releasing a poisonous snake near it.
  • Only Sane Man: Cleaman is far more reasonable and non-confrontational toward Son, Boy, and Kid than his three brothers are. He does hold Son at gunpoint in one scene, but only because Son did the same thing to him earlier, and he's still willing to hear Son out.
@ Cheating Death: Those That Lived
  • Deliberate Under-Performance: Dragon Batofel deliberately sabotages himself throughout the 27th Hunger Games (such as by taking a nap during training rather than displaying any skills and walking instead of running in the arena) just so that his ultimate victory will feel more impressive. His chapter is even titled "10 Ways Dragon Batofel Made The Hunger Games Much Harder Than They Really Needed To Be."
  • Genius Bruiser: Dragon Batofel has a "powerful, well-trained body," but he's a strategic (albeit kind of crazy) tribute and none of the other District 2 victors can beat him at chess.
  • Genre Savvy: Shunt Gaspar notes how the Games act as a form of entertainment for the Capitol and that they'll try to keep the "main characters" alive longer than the people who don't entertain them.
  • The Greatest Story Never Told: District 7's second victor, Fir, is the amnesia daughter of refugees who left District 13, but the narrative explicitly notes that no one ever finds the bodies of her parents or the evidence that would have revealed her origins.
  • Hufflepuff House: Districts 8, 9, and 12 all have decent numbers of prominent victors, but not many details are given about the Districts themselves in comparison to everywhere else in the nation.
  • Murder by Mistake: During Snow's Klingon Promotion scheme, he has one glass of poisoned champagne sent to rebellious victor Isobel Sparks to remove the threat she poses. She's using the bathroom at the time, and her mentor, Shunt Gaspar, drinks the poison champagne instead.
  • Un-person: Cold-hearted collaborator and Glory Seeker Elias Overwhill, the founder of District 2's Career aademy, fails in his efforts to get Rhyder, his own grandson, killed in the arena as part of a gambit to threaten the families of the victors. The Capitol promptly rewrites history and renames the Overwhill Academy to make it seem as if he never existed. Then Snow has him killed. It's hard to feel sorry for him.
    He would be an unperson for his failure. He would die and be forgotten, recalled only as deja vu of somebody else or simply discarded as a bad dream. His one failure invalidated his entire life of fascism and brutality.
  • Was It Really Worth It?: Baron trains for the games so that, as a victor, he can get the medicine to save his sick mother. After this gives birth to the Career system, he feels a great deal of guilt and wonders if it was a fair trade to give his mother another twenty years of life at the cost of hundreds of teenagers being turned into killers or sadistically killed in the arena.
@ News of the World
  • Fan-Preferred Cut Content: The deleted scene where Kidd and Johanna encounter a group of freedmen on a raft as the later group flees Texas has people who wish it had remained. It wouldn't have added much to the movie's runtime, has some good visuals and provides a better look at the suffering and discrimination endured by those people when the movie only refers to it secondhand.
@ Hufflepuff House
  • The Victors Project
    • District 12 gets noticeably less focus, characters, and details about its layout than the other 11 Districts, mainly due to how a lot of this was already covered by the original books. Their chapter of Arrow isn't even a whole story, but rather a few lines of song lyrics.

    • District 1 is ruled by forty noble families, but only nine of them (St. James, Boelyn, Delacroix, Lancaster, Dustell, St. Martin, Westness, Seville, and Rosencrantz) are named and several of them only have minor roles.
      • The Lancaster, Boelyn, and St. James families are all pretty prominent and have multiple members with names and/or dialogue and each house produces a victor, but said victors are the only members of each family to appear in more than one chapter and rarely if ever acknowledge their families later on.
      • House Seville is the only house to side with the Rebels during the Dark Days Rebellion, and is nearly wiped out as a result. Silk, the Sole Survivor of the family, is left homeless and becomes a Career tribute to get off the streets, and it's never revealed whether she ever has kids or the family dies with her.
      • The Delacroixes are a regular presence, but are only present in the background until two of their children become victors.
      • Several members of House Dustell appear throughout the story, mostly just to antagonize main characters and/or get killed. They are also the only known house to have cadet branches.
      • The St. Martin family competes with the Boelyn and St. James families to be District 1's most important Great House, but only receive a single passing mention in Luster's chapter.
      • Victor Brilliance Rosencrantz is from a Great House, but this is only mentioned three times, nothing is revealed about his family, and Brilliance himself is one of the least prominent victors in the story.
      • Some Westness nobles make a cameo appearance in Wonder's chapter, "eyeing each [party] guest like a fish they were about to filet."

@Hellbound (2021)

  • Expository Hairstyle Change : Min Hyejin wear her hair long from the start of the series. When the Time Skip came in, she later wear her hair short showing that she went from being a Crusading Lawyer to a Rebel Leader.
  • Time Skip: Halfway through the series, episode 4-6 skips to 4-5 years after Jeong Jin-soo's death where Young-jae become the main focus of the show.
  • Together in Death: Both Young-jae and So-hyun died protecting their newborn child from three demons by shielding him/her as their charred bodies in hugging portions while still holding their child. {{ Note to tropers: Sorry if I confused you with my words. It's hard to describe it.}}
  • Sequel Hook: At the end of episode 6, Park Jeong-ja was somehow brought back to life on the abode (that been turned into a museum by the New Truth) for an unknown reason. Which set up for a possible second season.
  • Naked on Revival: In the Season Finale, Jeong-ja was mysteriously resurrected on the same spot where she was killed by the three demons while she's nude. Justified since when people were burned to death by the three demons, their clothes burn with them .

Mikey Spletzer left this on WMG.A View To A Kill:

In Bond's universe, microchips are actually creating in Silicon Valley.
As said Roger Ebert, Zorin's plan are idiotic, because in Silicon Valley creating electronic, that need microchips, for short, his own customers. But he didn't think, that in Bond's universe something might be difficult. This is world, where all villains too dumb to shoot at Bond and killing him by Death Trap instead. Why in this world Silicon Valley can't be greatest storage of microchips?
I have no idea what it is trying to say. Can someone translate it? This grammar are idiotic.

In Bond's universe, microchips are actually created in Silicon Valley.

As Roger Ebert said, Zorin's plan is idiotic, because the companies in Silicon Valley don't create microchips, they create electronic products that use microchips, so he's actually trying to kill his own customers. But Zorin didn't think <- no comma that in Bond's universe something might be difficult. This is a world <- no comma where all villains are too dumb to shoot at Bond and try to kill him by Death Trap instead. Why, <- comma in this world, <- comma couldn't they have made Silicon Valley the world's greatest storage place of microchips instead?

I had to actually watch Roger Ebert's original review, on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine to figure this one out (fast forward to 1 minute 50 seconds to watch it).

Hohenzollern Empire AAR

Dystopia Justifies the Means: Wang Jingwei is willing to get rid of Chinese Democracy for a Military Dictatorship under his rule. He used the opportunity of World War 2 just to speed up the transition he started.

The Spartan Way: The Holy Roman Empire Of Jerusalem enforces this trope on it's soldiers as The Government claims that they need to be manly to destroy all traces of secular civilization. Soldiers are a separate class from the upper and lower roman civilian class.

Athens and Sparta: From Parts 1 to Early Part 5, The Reich was Athens and The Eimericans were Sparta. The Eimericans were divided into multiple nations while The Reich was (mostly) united in becoming more "civilized" (better wages and more welfare programs). Later into Part 5, The Holy Roman Empire Of Jerusalem that replaced The Reich is Sparta while The EIMERICANS are Athens, this time united under a Federation.

Later-Installment Weirdness: The early parts of The Hohenzollern Empire AAR (Parts 1-3), you usually knew where things would go and there was no wham lines. In Part 4, there was the first Wham Line and in Part 5, you got many Something Completely Different moments that usually weren't there in Parts 1-3. The writing got more unpredictable as time went on.

Conspiracy Kitchen Sink (Real Life)

Conspiracy Kitchen Sink: Using the oldest definition of conspiracy, which is two or more people plotting/planning something, then by definition the world is a Conspiracy Kitchen Sink.

Mind Control Conspiracy (Real Life)

Mind-Control Conspiracy: Project MKULTRA is a Mind-Control conspiracy meets Government Conspiracy (and a perennial cog in many modern conspiracy theories). The CIA attempted to use LSD, other drugs, and hypnosis to develop some form of mind control. As described below, most of the actual evidence points toward it having been a hilarious failure. They also used ridiculously damaging amounts of electroshock, sensory deprivation and other experimental treatments on its subjects to try to inform brainwashing. One of the more well-known theories is that the ultimate goal was in fact to set up dissociative identities in the subconscious of certain individuals that could be activated at any time, override the primary personality, and be completely obedient and subservient (usually for purposes of assassination). For further conspiracy, there is widespread belief among conspiracy-theorists and ex-CIA agents alike that the idea that MKULTRA has in fact been stopped is misinformation, and the project continues in various modernised forms to this day.

The FBI tried to mind-control people at one point and found out that the only drug that proved remotely useful for mind control was simple pot. They spiked an arrested gangster's cigarettes with THC (it was not unusual then to give a perp cigarettes, since pretty much everyone was a smoker), and he proceeded to spill the beans on some heist or other. Of course, even THC proved to be prohibitively unpredictable.

For Bait-and-Switch Lesbians:

  • Victorious has been accused of playing up the chemistry between Tori Vega and Jade West to draw in viewers. While Jade has a boyfriend, Beck, she often makes suggestive comments towards Tori, including having Tori pat her down to search for scissors while telling her not to be shy, asking her at one point if she was "having fun" patting her down and telling her to "beg" for her Christmas present. Tori also goes to great lengths to help Jade including founding her play, refusing to kiss Beck because it would hurt Jade, helping her get back together with Beck, and lying to Beck because Jade asked her to. The two are also twice made to play a married couple, are forced to go on a date, and as show creator Dan Schneider revealed years later were supposed to kiss, as a joke. However, nothing ever came of these moments with Jade getting back together with Beck not long after the play, which lead to accusations of Nickelodeon "queerbaiting" their fans. Even the NickRewind channel posted a video on whether they should have dated or not.

Any corrections?
