- All-Star Cast:
- The Japanese version features Atsushi Tamaru, Ai Kakuma, Nao Tōyama, Ari Ozawa, Mai Nakahara, Hikaru Midorikawa, Takanori Hoshino, Takahiro Sakurai, Tomokazu Sugita, Maaya Sakamoto, Unshō Ishizuka, Yumi Uchiyama and Wataru Hatano.
- Ditto for the English dub, which includes Erik Kimerer, Kira Buckland, Erika Harlacher, Sarah Anne Williams, Brianna Knickerbocker, Patrick Seitz, Sandy Fox, Cherami Leigh, Vic Mignogna, Lucien Dodge, Cassandra Lee Morris, Cristina Valenzuela, Richard Epcar, Keith Silverstein, Erica Mendez, Mela Lee, Laura Post, Christine Marie Cabanos, Erica Lindbeck, Kyle Hebert, Chris Patton and David Vincent.
- Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: One of the criticisms Beatrice the Golden Witch had for the anime was that she thought Madiath Mesa would have made a good Big Bad for the Tournament Arc. The original novels not having begun English publication until August 2016, she can be forgiven for not knowing that he indeed is part of the Big Bad Ensemble (the anime only adapts the first six volumes, in which his role is minimal).
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Satsumi Matsuda and Erica Mendez as Li Shen Yun, and Rie Takahashi and Julie Ann Taylor as Elliot Forster.
- Directed by Cast Member: In the English dub, Chris Cason was the ADR director and Song Ran's voice actor.
- Dueling Works: With Chivalry of a Failed Knight, which has a similar premise of being a light novel series with harem aspects set in an Academy of Adventure where students duel each other with Magitek. Bonus points for their anime adaptations airing on the exact same day and close to the same time slot too. Not only that, for the first two thirds of the season, both anime series more or less hit the exact same plot points at the same points in the same episodes. Chivalry is more comedic (leaning more on Harem Genre gags in particular) and lacks most of Asterisk War's social science fiction aspects. Its anime was also not as successful, running for only one twelve-episode season (Asterisk War got two).
- Fake Nationality: Ai Kakuma and Kira Buckland as the European Julis-Alexia von Riessfeld.
- No Export for You: There's a spinoff light novel and manga called Wings of Queenvale, focused on Queenvale Girls' Academy, but it has not been localized in English as of 2023.
- Playing Against Type: Sarah Anne Williams normally voices Genki Girls or crazy Cute and Psycho girls. Saya is completely different as she's an Rei Ayanami Expy.
- You Sound Familiar: In the English dub:
- Randy Hook and Ernest Fairclough are both voiced by Vic Mignogna
- In addition to voicing Koichiro Toudou, Richard Epcar provides the Opening Narration in the first episode.
- Kyle Hebert provides the voices of Nguyen and Nicolas Enfield.
- Cristina Valenzuela first appeared as Camilla Pareto and later voiced Maria in the second season.
- Laura Post, who voiced EM-C, would later go on to appear as Laetitia Blanchard.
- Sister Therese and Hilda Jane Rowlands are voiced by Karen Strassman.
