Fanfic / Oops, One for All for All

Go To

Izuku: A-are you sure that'll work?
Nedzu: Of course! This is a crack fic, after all! The set-up needs to be finished quickly so the author can get to the main story!
Izuku: ...What?

While meditating at Dagoba Beach after the U.A. Entrance Exams, Izuku finds himself meeting the vestiges and they inform him that they figured out how to split One for All, allowing for there to be more users of the legendary torch while making it safer for each user. As a result, Izuku seeks out worthy fellow wielders to share One for All with.

Oops, One for All for All by SauronClaus is a My Hero Academia Crack Fic.

For other works from this user, see Wilfully Reckless and as Immovable as a Sozzled Bird, one of the fics involved in the Oops, All Self-Inserts project.

This fanfic contains examples of:

  • Accidental Hero: An unconscious Tenya accidentaly becomes the one to stop Stain by falling on him.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: Dabi laughs when he sees Shouto rebelling against their father by using Super-Strength.
  • Adaptation Deviation:
    • It is Mina, not Izuku, to give the "It's your Quirks, not his" speech to Shouto.
    • The End-Of-Term Practicals are changed around, with different student teams vs different proctors. The only teams and match-ups that are from canon are Momo and Shouto going up against Aizawa and Denki and Mina going up against Nedzu. All other teams and match-ups are completely different.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Several Hero Names change:
    • Monoma refuses to let Aoyama go with his canon name and instead, gives him "Magnifique" which Aoyama likes.
    • With Izuku's help, Tsuburaba goes by the hero name of Bastion instead of just using his real name.
    • Since Tensei doesn't retire and keeps being a hero, Tenya doesn't take up his name of Ingenium, instead going by Steadfast.
    • Shouto decides to call himself Flames Hotman Chill Dude.
    • Hagakure calls herself Spectrum instead of Invisible Girl due to her newfound ability to make herself visible.
    • Ojiro calls himself Embusen instead of Tail Man.
    • Mina calls herself Queen Venus after her original choice is rejected with help from Shouto.
    • Kyoka calls herself Heartpulse after Momo gives her the idea of tying her name to her love of music.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Aizawa finding out about One for All early on results in him not assuming Izuku is a lazy student coasting by on a powerful Quirk to begin with.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Eri and Overhaul appears during the first internship arc instead of the second internship arc, with Eri being saved early.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Himiko is no longer enemies with Class 1-A due to her encounter with Izuku at Dagobah Beach. She in fact joins them in the Hero Course, taking Mineta's place.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: The vestiges tells Izuku that they figured out how to split One for All when there was no indication that was possible in canon. This allows for there to be a lot of One for All wielders at the same time.
    • Chapter 1 has Himiko (2nd) becoming the first additional wielder.
    • Chapter 3 has the other students of 1-A (3rd to 19th) sans Bakugou agreeing to have a portion of One for All. The boost One for All gives them changes some of their Quirks:
      • Ochako's Zero Gravity gains limited telekinesis and the ability to increase gravity.
      • Koji develops telepathy.
      • Hagakure can make herself visible.
      • Momo can reabsorb her creations, making more efficient use of her lipid stores.
    • Chapter 9 has Izuku offering Shinsou (20th) a portion of One for All.
    • Chapter 14 has the entirety of Class 1-B (21st to 40th) getting their share of One for All. Tensei (41st) is also given a portion to keep being a hero. Hatsume (42nd) also gets a portion. When Hatsume gets it, it causes a mutation to her Zoom as it's overall functionality greatly improves.
    • Chapter 17 has Izuku giving Mirio (43rd) his share of the Quirk at Nighteye's insistence.
    • Chapter 21 has Nejire (44th) and Tamaki (45th) get their share of One for All.
    • Chapter 31 has Melissa (46th) gaining a share of One for All.
  • Adapted Out:
    • Mineta does not make it past Chapter 1 due to Nedzu uncovering his history of sexual misconduct.
    • SauronClaus has made clear that, while it may change in the future, the UA Traitor plotline will not be happening here. The reason being that one of the people given One For All is the canon traitor, and trying to write around their having One For All yet not turning it over to All For One on the first day was untenable nor did it have a funny way to resolve it.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Played with. Like in canon, SauronClaus has confirmed Izuku will gain access to the Quirks of the past users of One For All. SauronClaus has clarified however that while all the users will gain access to the Quirks of the past users, they won't receive all of them, rather each user will receive at max three at random, the three they get based on the users personality, aptitude for using the Quirk, and overall bonds with the past users and each other. Those that were born biologically Quirkless are the exception to this rule, their getting all seven Quirks being a form of Karmic Jackpot for their past suffering. This is represented by the Obelisks, each one representing a user, establishing a connection with one another via a surge of lightning matching the color of the living user, first seen when Izuku and Banjo's Obelisks create a connection, allowing Izuku to use "Blackwhip" during his and Ochako's exam against Star and Stripe.
  • And This Is for...: At the climax of the I-Island arc, Melissa stomps her foot into Wolfram multiple times, airing out a different grievance each time, and repeating some used ones.
  • Atrocious Alias: Shouto picks Flames Hotman Chill Dude, and Midnight approves it, specifically because it is a horrible name that will infuriate Endeavour.
  • Behavioral Conditioning: During their internship, Ms. Joke tries to train the jerk out of Bakugou by shooting him with water guns everytime he's being a jerk.
  • Blatant Lies: Not knowing All Might knows about One for All, the other students of 1-A lie about the source of their newfound Super-Strength with all sorts of lies from plausible to ridiculous.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Nedzu outright says they're in a Crack Fic in Chapter 1.
  • Can't Use Stairs: Being wheelchair bound, Tensei can't use stairs, which poses a problem during the I-Island incident.
  • Chairman of the Brawl: During Shigaraki's Humiliation Conga at the USJ, Momo apparently lands the finishing blow by using her quirk to create a steel chair and hit him with it.
  • Combination Attack: Tenya and Tensei have a combo move where the latter piggybacks on the former and they use their Quirks together. It is called 'Iida Brother Combo Style - Recipro Whirlwind'.
  • Commonality Connection: Himiko and Kamakiri bond over their love of knives.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: As punishment for Bakugou calling him a mink and for Aizawa for not training his students to be good enough to not get caught vigilanting, Nedzu buys out Ketsubutsu and makes Ms. Joke the Assistant Homeroom Teacher of 1-A, forcing both Bakugou and Aizawa to deal with her every single school day at minimum.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Mei built a machine specifically to catch runaway girlfriends and bring it out to catch Kyoka.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: During their Sports Festival match, Ochako beats Bakugou so quickly she sets a new record for the fastest time a match was finished.
  • Death Glare: Upon hearing Bakugou's first choice of Hero Name of Lord Death Explosion King, Monoma makes his disapproval of such a name clear by glaring so hard at him that Bakugou actually gets cowed.
  • Description Cut:
    • Nirengeki thinks Awase and Kaibara have a normal plan for the Cavalry Battle and it immediately cuts to them discussing with their teammates an insane plan.
    • Izuku thinks Nedzu is predicting Mina's and Kaminari's escape routes and blocking them off ahead of time but when it cuts to him, it turns out Nedzu is just having fun randomly breaking things.
  • Did Not See That Coming:
    • All for One is dumbfounded upon learning that somehow, nearly every student of Class 1-A has Super-Strength.
    • Hitoshi is caught off guard when after his Quirk takes hold in Izuku, it does not actually incapacitate him and instead, someone else takes the reins of his body and wins the match for him.
    • Sir Nighteye is surprised to see Izuku agree to giving Mirio One for All so easily.
  • Disaster Dominoes: When Class 1-B first manifests One for All, their inexperience in controlling the Quirk causes a chain reaction that destroys the building they're in.
  • Disappointed in You: Momo fears getting the disappointed-in-you speech from Fat Gum. It apparently brings sidekicks to tears.
  • Do Wrong, Right: After the internship arc, Nedzu punishes Aizawa for the fact several of his students got caught vigilanting. Specifically the fact they were caught.
  • Double Entendre: Kirishima makes a lot of hard-related puns during his match with Iida during the Sports Festival that he does not realize have sexual connotations. Kyoka who can hear him does and laughs her ass off.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: En's go to solution for his problems in life was to use Smokescreen and then bolt. This includes when he was at divorce proceedings in court. As he tells Banjo, they did not find his little stunt funny at all.
  • Entertainingly Wrong:
    • All for One thinks All Might is running a shell game by presenting multiple Super-Strength users to hide the true wielder of One for All when in truth they're all using One for All. As a result of this, he then incorrectly concludes Bakugou is the actual wielder when he's the only student of 1-A who isn't.
    • Sir Nighteye also wrongly thinks the number of students with Super-Strength is a shell game, but unlike All for One, he knows All Might's successor is Izuku.
  • Establishing Series Moment: Chapter 1 firmly establishes that this story is a Crack Fic and leaves no ambiguity about it my outright saying it by Breaking the Fourth Wall.
  • False Reassurance: For the cavalry battle of the Sports Festival, the first place and second place of the race, Izuku and Ochako are paired together. When someone complains, Midnight honestly assures them their pairing has nothing to do with their placement. What she doesn't say is that it is because she ships them and is trying to get them together.
  • Fastball Special: Kirishima tosses across the Obstacle Course pit during the Sports Festival.
  • Flat "What": Izuku could only say "What?" when Nedzu says they're in a Crack Fic.
  • Guilt by Association Gag: Played with. Iida is widely acknowledged by nearly everyone that he did nothing wrong for his part in taking down Stain, having been unconscious the whole time. He still thinks he committed vigilantism and dishonored his family's name due to his obsession with rules and order.
  • Handicapped Badass: Ingenium manages to still be a hero despite his paralysis due to being given a copy of One for All and Mei's support wheelchair.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Power Loader sets Mei up with Izuku and Ochako thinking it would result in Mei becoming more manageable. He is despaired to learn it actually causes the opposite. When Ms. Joke tries the same thing by having Momo join their polycule, it backfires again since it makes their destructive tendencies even worse.
  • Holding the Floor: When Kurogiri asks the small group of students at the door where the rest of their classmates are, all of them casually go into detail about where they went. When he clarifies that he didn't actually want them to list where everyone was, Tsuyu admits they were just trying to distract him so he wouldn't notice Iida escaping. When Kurogiri looks back, he finds an Iida shaped hole in the door.
  • Humiliation Conga: The USJ ends up being one for Shigaraki, who gets the absolute crap beaten out of him while increasingly grasping at straws to try and claim his plan is still working.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Midnight uses alcohol to cope with the collateral damage of Izuku and Ochako dancing around each other's feelings.
  • I Reject Your Reality: When things go horribly wrong for the League of Villains during the USJ attack, Tomura has a psychotic break and pretends everything is still going according to plan.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Sato gets to keep his hero name of Sugarman in spite of Monoma's protests due to Izuku supporting Sato's choice.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Aizawa finds out about One for All and the fact it can be split in Chapter 2.
    • All Might is informed of Izuku finding more torchbearers of One for All prior to the I-Island trip.
  • Irony: As in canon, Nighteye tries to convince Izuku to give his Quirk to Mirio, believing the latter better suited to using One for All. Not only did Izuku manage to figure out how to use the Quirk in a way Nighteye never considered, Izuku also found a way to share said Quirk without losing its abilities.
  • Laugh Themselves Sick: After seeing Kaminari do something stupid and knock himself out, Ashido and Sero laughed so hard they themselves passed out.
  • Let Me Get This Straight...: Chapter 2 begins with All Might summarizing the events of Chapter 1 to see if he has all the facts straight.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: When Izuku finds additional holders of One for All, it slips his mind to tell All Might about it, so All Might doesn't find out until before the I-Island trip.
  • Love Epiphany: Kyoka realizes she developed a crush on Izuku in Chapter 22 when she goes to bed thinking of his smile.
  • Medal of Dishonor: Bakugou gives a kid his autograph during his internship, and the kid is happy to get one, from the worst member of Class 1-A.
  • Mutual Masquerade: Due to not knowing for sure the other party knows about One for All, All Might dances around the issue when he asks the Class 1-A students where their Super-Strength comes from while the students lie to his face about it. While the students learn the truth from Izuku at the end of the chapter where All Might asked them (and give him You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me! looks), All Might only gets things cleared up shortly before I-Island.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: When Gran Torino sets his sights on Tenya, an entire generation of Pro-Heroes shiver and give their silent condolences to him.
  • Oblivious Guilt Slinging: Played for laughs. When Tenya declares he cannot imagine any hero committing vigilantism and/or unauthorized quirk use, Ingenium, Gran Torino, Ryukyu, Manual, and Fat Gum refuse to look him in the eye and act suspiciously innocent.
  • Oblivious to Love:
    • Whenever Shouto is around Mina, his face grows hot while his heart beats faster. He concludes he is having a heart attack instead of him being in love with Mina.
    • Izuku and Kyoka manage to completely miss Itsuka trying to flirt with them and the rest of their polycule during the mall outing.
  • Pocket Dimension: After One for All boosted his Quirk, Tokoyami can store things in his darkness.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • Izuku's team not being part of the first match in Class 1-A's first Hero Training class results in him talking to Kyouka and they agree to talk about Quirks later, which causes a cascading effect which results in the entire rest of the class listening in when Izuku tries to explain to Bakugou how he got his Quirk, which results in them learning about One for All.
    • 1-A's spectacular performance during the Obstacle Course results in 1-B abandoning Monoma's plan and them trying to team up with the 1-A students.
    • Ochako having One for All allows her to not just beat Bakugou during their Sports Festival where she lost in canon, but win overwhelmingly.
    • Because of more people to figure out One for All with, Izuku manages to master up to 55% by the final match of the Sports Festival, allowing him to win the whole thing.
    • Tensei manages to still be a hero because Izuku and Mei help him by giving him One for All and a special wheelchair which together compensate for his paralysis.
    • Mina interns with Endeavour because he gave her an offer hoping it would convince Shouto to intern with him too. She spends most of the Internship trying to annoy him, but this ends up backfiring since he realizes just how important she is to Shoto, and how she's much better for him than he ever was, turning him into a Shipper on Deck for the two of them.
    • With Izuku already in a committed relationship by time for the mall trip, he isn't left on his own when everyone else runs off, instead going with Ochaco, Kyoka, and Setsuna. The same can't be said for Mina and Shoto however, with Mina letting her nerves get the better of her and running off, and Shoto wandering off on his own, right into Shigaraki... who he manages to make lose his cool by acting dense as hell, long enough for Mina to come back and deck him. Unfortunately, this gets him so pissed off that when he breaks free, he immediately tries to kill a civilian, only failing due to Monoma intercepting him while flanked by Tsuburaba and Pony, forcing Kurogiri to remotely retrieve Shigaraki.
  • Polyamory: The main pairing starts with Izuku and Ochako. During the Sports Festival, Power Loader, in a desperate attempt to rein Mei in, encourages her to date the two of them. Later, Ms. Joke attempts to set Momo up with the three hoping she could rein them in and while she becomes enamoured and part of the polycule, to the teachers' consternation, she becomes an enabler, not the responsible one. Kyoka joins them in Chapter 28 after confessing to them.
  • Power Misidentification: Knowing the importance of keeping One for All secret, the students of 1-A hide the sources of their strength as extensions of their original Quirk, with varying degrees of plausibility.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: When Izuku protests Mei getting unhealthy amounts of caffeine, she tries resorting to making puppy-dog eyes to get her way. It almost works before Itsuka manages to dissuade her.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Mei blatantly hacks into the team assignments for the Cavalry Battle for the Sports Festival and completely gets away with it.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Izuku and Ochako go from dancing around each other to dating each other and Hatsume in Chapter 14.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Nobu and Daigo decide to quit villainy altogether after they get trounced by heroes-in-training and one kid who wasn't even training to be a hero.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Monoma thinks Class 1-A is full of selfish and arrogant powerhouses, blatantly ignoring all evidence to the contrary, instead focusing on Bakugou who is the only one who fits the mold he cast his sister class in.
  • Shell Game: Both All For One and Nighteye believe that the number of students with Super-Strength in 1-A is a Shell Game by All Might to hide his successor. All for One comes to the reasonable but incorrect conclusion that Bakugo, as the only one to not show Super-Strength, is the successor (Nighteye correctly determines it's Izuku).
  • Side Bet: When Mina confesses her love for Shoto during their match at the Sports Festival, Hound Dog collects money from Snipe and Ectoplasm because he put money on there being at least one mid-match love confession.
  • Ship Tease: Starting from the Sports Festival where Shouto saves Mina from a fall, she develops a crush on him and the story strongly hints at pairing the two up.
  • Shipper on Deck: Midnight ships Izuku and Ochako together and does everything she can to get them to officially enter a relationship.
  • Shipper with an Agenda: The faculty of U.A. are trying to get Izuku and Ochako together because their romantic tension is causing them to break a lot of things in their spars and the repair expenses are piling up and they need to address it.
  • Skewed Priorities: During the End of Term Exams, Hatsume spends more time manipulating Hawks into creating a giant homage to her paramours than she does actually trying to pass the exam.
  • Sneeze Cut: When All for One (wrongly) concluded Bakugou is the One for All wielder, the scene changes to Bakugou sneezing.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Garaki published a paper detailing what happens when Quirks are stolen and given to other people. He knows it's all non-hypothetical but goes to great lengths to deny this by claiming it is entirely hypothetical and adding that the 'Lord of the Underworld' is pure fiction.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • Bakugou thinks he's getting an easy match when he faces off against Ochako during the Sports Festival, only to lose so quickly it set a new record.
    • Tenya thinks nothing will go wrong on their train ride and Gran Torino immediately berates him for tempting fate, and is quickly vindicated when the train is attacked.
    • Yo Shindo thinks U.A. is perfectly safe, only for a wrecking ball to hit part of the corridor he is in.
    • Midnight makes a bet with Aizawa involving alcohol claiming that she would get Izuku and Ochako to have a Relationship Upgrade within a week. She attaches a note with a heartfelt apology to the case when she loses.
  • Troll: There are some ridiculous regulations in the U.A. Handbook that are there solely for Gran Torino and Nedzu to mess with people.
  • Unishment: Ochako's punishment for facing Stain without permission to engage him in combat is to be made to eat healthier instead of skimping on meals to save on money. Ochako isn't even being made to pay for the meals U.A. is providing for her, it's all at U.A.'s expense.
  • Unresolved Sexual Tension: Izuku and Ochako are attracted but are unable to admit it to themselves, much less each other. Hilariously, this results in them frequently sparring where their horniness results in them destroying the place where they spar with their fights to the consternation of most of U.A.'s faculty and Nedzu's amusement.
  • The Unreveal: Chapter 21 reveals All Might has a way to get the polycule consisting of Izuku, Ochako, Mei, and Momo to not cause so much damage to U.A. with their antics, but the details aren't explained as he wants to see what might happen to All for One if he unleashes Izuku and his girlfriends on him while they're like this.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: When they have Tenya unconscious and are in a perfect position to kill him, Kurogiri wonders why they don't simply kill him and be done with it, but Tomura wants to make a show of it.
