Revenant's Group

    Revenant's Group

In General

A group of Metahumans allied with the AI Humility who were brought to life where before, the Metahumans were characters in a comic book.
  • Back from the Dead: Many of them were dead in the comic book before being resurrected in the real world.

Revenant

The main character of the comic book Villain Academy before being brought to life in the real world. His Individuality is Mastery.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Onslaught calls him Revy while Kitsune calls him Blackie.
  • Death Seeker: One of Revenant's endgame goals during his in-comic villain career was to die.
  • Oblivious to Love: It took months for him to notice Onslaught likes him that way. They both blame the author of their story for the fact that it took so long.

HUMILITY

The first Artificial Intelligence created by humanity.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: AI/HUMILITY is Mankind's first AI, and the first to go rogue, killing billions of humans along the way.
  • Eating Machine: The cybernetic body Humility uses is capable of simulating taste, so Humility can enjoy things like drinking alcohol.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: HUMILITY is not above killing people and in fact has a death toll measurable in the billions, but every death he did was done for a purpose. Which is why he is scathing towards Demiurge for killing unrelated civilians in retaliation for Songbird's death. He says Demiurge should have stuck to killing Heroes. HUMILITY explicitly contrasts this against Revenant who may have led a war against the United States, but at least he was focused on the people responsible for his suffering.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Upon learning that Clockmaker is a robosexual that would find the AI Humility - the rogue AI having a death toll measurable in billions - hot, Humility can only say the villains of the In-Universe Villain Academy comicbook are all fucked up in the head. The present villains don't take it personally, knowing it's the objective truth.
  • Humanity Ensues: Humility's endgoal is to turn themselves into a human being.
  • Ironic Name: The AI named Humility is extremely prideful.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: They are so human that it can banter with Revenant and Co, as well as feel surprise and other emotions. This appears to be a normal thing among the A.I.s of its stature.
  • Theseus' Ship Paradox: They admit that the original Humility is dead, and they are a copy, but they still consider themselves Humility, otherwise, the resurrection mechanism put in place by the original would not work properly.

Onslaught

Revenant's fiancé. Her Individuality is Stress Stockpile.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Revenant calls her Oni while Kitsune calls her Cutie.
  • Covert Pervert: Onslaught hid her perverted tendencies from her father Destro well enough for him to be stunned when she drops the act.
  • The Lost Lenore: Onslaught is Revenant's emotional centre. Her death is the reason he lashed out against the world in the plot of the In-Universe Villain Academy story. Reviving her through the supernatural means made possible by Visitor is the start of his character development.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Onslaught is open about thirsting for Revenant and loves pushing the limits of what's polite, or even tolerable, but her fiancé loves her for it.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Because of her father and her fiancé indulging her, she is incredibly spoiled, but it doesn't stop her from taking other people's feelings into account, or being a nice, if perverted, girl in general.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Onslaught is powerful, but lacks technique due to her various disabilities making it hard to train her powers.

Decay

Revenant's cousin. His Individuality is End.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Decay has issues with personal hygiene, and is bad enough with social cues that his cousin Revenant suspects him of having an undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder. This didn't stop him from being The Dragon to the most dangerous supervillain of the United States, and proving to be a talented tactician.
  • Make Them Rot: Decay's Individuality works by accelerating entropy, of either things he touches (very fast) or things in his general vicinity (slower).
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Decay knows how to apply make-up because he wanted to be able to do it for his wife and daughter.
  • Secret-Keeper: Decay knew about Chronoshift's criminal activities, but kept silent because she bribed him with restored vintage videogames.

Clockmaker

Ezra Halworth, the CEO of Halworth Industries, having turned to villainy after a long progress of slowly spiralling explodes into the mass murder of innocents. Her individuality is Akashic Records.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: For all her maniacal mad scientist tendencies, Clockmaker has one rule. Killing can only be done to either protect yourself or purely business reasons. Which is why Demiurge killing several hundreds thousands of people in retaliation for Songbird being killed causes a rift between them.
  • Power Incontinence: Clockmaker can't control when Akashic Records' active effects kicks in, nor can she stop herself from being compelled to create what her Individuality tells her to create and to see it in action once she finishes making it. The most anyone can do is to manage her moods to prevent her from causing a disaster.
  • Power Misidentification: People think Clockmaker's Individuality is an eye-based one that just improves eyesight. It's not. Those are just extremely advanced cybernetic implants of her own making. Her actual Individuality is called Akashic Records, and it's much more powerful than that.
  • Robosexual: Clockmaker once created a sexbot under the compulsion of her Individuality and used it for herself. It permanently changed her tastes into being this. This allows Humility to dampen the problematic aspects of Clockmaker's Individuality as otherwise she'd use the powerful bomb she made, consequences be damned.

Thorn

One of the heroes who sided with the People's Liberation Front.
  • Green Thumb: Thorn's Individuality allows her to create plants anywhere she wants, and even from virtually nothing - however without nutrients, her plants will grow up sickly and weak, lacking in nutritional value. She can also control said plants.

Virtue

One of the heroes who sided with the People's Liberation Front.
  • Light 'em Up: Virtue's Individuality lets her manipulate light. Her skillset includes forming weapons, armors and shields of hardlight, invisibility, illusions and combat lasers (including those fired from her eyes).
  • Ms. Fanservice: Lampshaded. Upon being brought to the real world, Virtue realises very quickly she was used for fanservice in the In-Universe Villain Academy story. The realisation stings for her.
  • Winged Humanoid: Virtue has wings growing out of her back that has nothing to do with her light powers beyond fitting the theme.

Singularity

One of Revenant's former classmates, kidnapped by Archvile and broken into an obedient puppet.
  • Brainwashed: Archvile did some thorough brainwashing on her to turn her into the ideal slave.
  • Fighting from the Inside: Defied. Archvile destroyed her mind as much as possible specifically to wipe out any possibility of her fighting her conditioning.
  • Gravity Master: Her Individuality grants her control over gravity itself.

Destro

Leader of the People’s Liberation Front and Onslaught's father.
  • Guile Hero: Well, Guile Villain Protagonist, but Revenant brings him back because they needed someone of Destro's politicking skills to deal with the New Springfield survivors they allied with.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Destro pretended to fall for Onslaught's angel act since it made both of them happy.

Chronoshift

Revenant's adoptive daughter.
  • Daddy's Little Villain: To Revenant's shock, his adoptive daughter Chronoshift decided to follow in his footsteps and is legally an E-Rank Supervillain mastermind, at the age of twelve.
  • Improbable Age: She's twelve, and yet legally an E-Rank supervillain.

Hypothermia

Ko's best friend.
  • Abusive Parents: Revenant reflects that her parents were so shit that they turned Hypothermia who under better circumstances could have been a top hero into a doormat who cares only about her friends and chosen family.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Onslaught calls her Thermy while Revenant calls her Mia and Kitsune calls her Ice'y before changing to Yuki.
  • An Ice Person: She has a powerful Ice-based Individuality.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: She has large breasts that Revenant notices after her resurrection.
  • Honorary True Companion: She was never an official member of the People's Liberation Front, but she was close to them because she was close to Destro the leader and his daughter Onslaught.

Overhaul

Head of an underground hospital and formerly Clockmaker's lieutenant.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: When asked about his past, he gives conflicting versions, sometimes one right after the other.

Demiurge

Another of Revenant's former classmates who turned villain.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Mass murderer of a Villain she is, even Demiurge has people she cares for, though the list is short, being only Amplitude and Songbird.

Black Knight

One of Revenant's followers.
  • Blood Knight: He loves fighting, and Revenant's method of ensuring loyalty from him is promising good fights.

Kitsune

One of Revenant's most fervent followers, due to being in love with him, and with love in general.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Onslaught calls her Kit before changing it to Foxy. Revenant picks Vixy as his nickname for her.
  • Love Freak: Because of her unique parentage and upbringing, she is obsessed with the idea of love. The whole reason she supported Revenant's crusade against the United States was because she decided him doing it for his dead fiancé was romantic.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Revenant quickly realises that the role Kitsune will play in their post-villainy life is the love interest who, through her eccentricities, will drag him out of his comfort zone and enjoy life a little more.

Republic of New Springfield

    Republic of New Springfield

In General

An ethnopolity that is descended from the United State of America, Visitor destroyed their nation and only a portion of the population survived the initial destruction, with more dying in the ensuing chaos.
  • Planet of Hats: They are an ethnopolity that combines being an Authoritarian Democracy, being part of the Church of Divine Redemption, and being Anglo-Saxons as their overall hat.

Ted Wilcher

Assistant to Lane Simon, the former governor of the New Highrock state.

Ferris Palmer

Lieutenant Colonel of the 13th Mechanized Infantry Division of the Armed Forces of the New Springfield Republic.
  • Properly Paranoid: His precautions impress Revenant, and the preparations he makes comes in handy when the Truthseekers attack.

Lois Knight

Religious leader of the local survivors, most of them having come from her parish.

Transhuman Alliance

    In General

In General

Former humans that attempted to better themselves before launching a genocidal war against everyone else.
  • Fantastic Racism: Nearly all human ethnopolities hate transhumans due to the transhumans launching a genocidal war against the rest of humanity, wiping out half of the non-transhumans in the process. The only ones that are barely tolerated are the few that sided with the non-transhumans during the war as well as their descendants.
  • Transhuman Treachery: As far as non-transhumans could tell, the transhumans launched a genocidal war against the non-transhumans out of nowhere. The casualties were so immense, and the war crimes committed were so bad, that it practically justifies Fantastic Racism against the surviving transhumans.
  • White Sheep: A minority of Transhumans sided with the baseline humans when the other Transhumans started the war.

    Dominion of the Pure

Dominion of the Pure

A branch of transhumanism that focused on genetic improvements.
  • Bio-Augmentation: They focused on radical genetic improvements which gave them superhuman physical abilities.
  • Total Party Kill: They were all wiped out in the transhuman war.

    Mechanist Heirocracy

Mechanist Heirocracy

A branch of transhumanism that focused on machine improvements to their bodies. They were given the threat designation of BANDIT/BLUE GAMMA.
  • Full-Conversion Cyborg: As a result of their transhuman efforts, there is very little, if any, biological parts remaining.
  • Mechanical Animals: Invoked. Looking human is forbidden among them due to them considering themselves above baseline humanity. They instead make themselves resemble animals.

Singularity Cults

    In General
Adherents of a disproven concept of technological singularity of varying levels of threat to the greater humanity.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: One branch of harmless loony adherents believe humanity's technological progress was held back by Government Conspiracies.
