    In General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/homepart1_terrans.jpg
An entirely new species of Transformers who were created on Earth.

  • Artificial Family Member:
    • All five of the Terrans are treated like family by the Maltos even if they were born via the Emberstone by Robby and Mo.
    • Twitch sees Wheeljack as her "dad 2" since her alt mode is base on his drones.
  • Appropriated Appellation: "Terran" comes from what Mandroid called them when he first analyzed Twitch and Thrash their time as his prisoners. note
  • Beta Outfit: Newly created Terrans all have a protoform white-and-grey body with only a few distinct features. They gain more unique appearances upon acquiring an alt-mode.
  • Big Little Siblings:
    • Due to being Transformers, Twitch and Thrash tower over Robby and Mo, despite technically being a lot younger.
    • Again with Hashtag, Nightshade, and Jawbreaker, who are much younger but also significantly taller than Twitch and Thrash. This is especially poignant since Thrash was the taller of the first two Terrans, while the taller Jawbreaker was dwarfed by Nightshade and Hashtag.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The second batch of Terrans include the rather tall Hashtag, the middle-ranged Nightshade, and the short but burly Jawbreaker.
  • Cyborg: According to Mandroid's analysis, they're not full Cybertronians. They're hybrids of organic material from Earth and Cybertron.
  • Fantastic Naming Convention: Robby and Mo's cyber-sleeves gives them a mental/emotional connection to the Terrans that lets them know what their names are supposed to be before even the Terrans do. So that's how they get "named".
Robby: (Looking at his glowing Cyber-Sleeve) She's...Hashtag!"
Hashtag: *Gasps* You're right! I didn't have a word for my name. Just a...feeling!
  • Five-Man Band: Turns into this once Twitch and Thrash are joined by Hashtag, Jawbreaker, and Nightshade.
  • Happily Adopted: They're all almost immediately accepted as part of the Malto-family and none of them seems in any way unhappy about this.
  • How Do I Shot Web?: Being brand-new beings, they have a bit of trouble learning how to use their Cybertronian abilities sometimes.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: The first Terrans are the tall and lanky male Thrash and the comparatively shorter female Twitch.
  • Hybrid Power: Have seemingly all the abilities of Cybertronians such as being able to transform and built-in weapons but don't require Energon for fuel.
  • Interspecies Adoption: They're a bunch of huge Transforming Mecha who are adopted by the human Malto-family.
  • Masculine, Feminine, Androgyne Trio: After Twitch and Thrash, the next group of Terrans to come into being is a trio consisting of the male Jawbreaker, the female Hashtag, and the non-binary Nightshade.
  • Named After Their Planet: "Terran" comes from them being the first Transformers created on Earth.
  • Psychic Link: They all share a mental bond with one another along with Robby and Mo. Being able to feel one another's emotions.
  • Two Girls to a Team: As of "Age of Evolution", Twitch and Hashtag.

Voiced by: Kathreen Khavari, Farah Rishi (Expedition), Chiwa Saitō (Japanese)

A very competitive and analytical Transformer who is bonded to Robby. She transforms into a Cybertronian surveillance drone.

  • Animal Lover: Seems to have taken a liking to Earth animals; she names a calf that lives on the farm, sneaks out with Robby to see fox cubs, and shows excitement at reading up the animal trivia in Dot's Park Ranger office.
  • Animal Motif: Birds – being of a chirpy, flighty, dare one say "twitchy" nature, and with a colour scheme mildly evocative of a robin.
  • Arm Cannon: Her right arm can turn into one.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Has this towards the other Terrans, even Thrash who is technically as "old" as her.
  • Blow You Away: She can use to rotors on her drone form to generate powerful blasts of air and tornadoes, if she points them downward.
  • Cool Big Sis: Tries to be this to the batch of Terrans that came after her, in particular Hashtag.
  • Competition Freak: If there is a competition, however small, Twitch will move heaven and earth to win it.
  • Cuteness Proximity: She can't help but have a fondness for adorable Earth fauna. She immediately gushes over Fluffy Ears, a calf, and regularly goes out at night with Robbie to look at baby foxes.
  • Cyber Cyclops: Her alt-mode is a drone with a singular eye.
  • Deflector Shield: Can generate one when she's in drone-mode.
  • EMP: Equipped with one; it runs off her power supply. And allows her to paralyze Cybertronians and fellow Terrans for a while.
  • Eye Scream: Loses one of her optics in the climax of season 1, though it's healed soon after.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Between herself and Thrash, Twitch is the one equipped with ranged weaponry, with an Arm Cannon in robot mode, and a smaller cannon and EMP in vehicle mode.
  • Instant Expert: It's notable that whenever Twitch discovers a new ability or function of hers, she seems to have complete mastery over it in seconds. In "Classified", she showed impressive skill with her rotor-swords, despite only discovering them a moment ago, and in "Traditions" she uses her drone-mode's EMP and Deflector Shield perfectly right after Wheeljack tells her about both.
  • Last of Her Kind: Mandroid is able to successfully kill every single Cybertronian on Earth at the cost of his own life, leaving Twitch as both the last of the Terrans and the last of the Earth station Cybertronians. Later subverted when Robby and Mo are able use the power of the Emberstone to bring everyone back to life.
  • The Leader: She gradually seems to be taking over this role amongst her Terran siblings.
  • Literal-Minded: When Twitch has trouble deciding what to get Dot for Mother's Day, Robby suggests getting her a teddy bear. Twitch then goes off and kidnaps a bear cub.
  • Male Might, Female Finesse: Thrash's melee weaponry focuses more on smashing and throwing while Twitch's rotary blades can also function as swords for quick and fast strikes
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite her comparatively small stature to the other Cybertronians and Terrans, she's strong enough to wrestle the much taller Thrash to the ground and man-handle him in "H.O.U.S.E. Rules" and is able to carry Bumblebee, who is even bigger and heavier than Thrash, in drone-form in "Mooo-ving In" without showing any signs of fatigue or exertion.
  • Surveillance Drone: Transforms into a Cybertronian recon drone, the design of which was crafted by Wheeljack.

Voiced by: Stephanie Lemelin, Lauren Weisman (Expedition), Mamiko Noto (Japanese)

One of the newly born Terrans, whose developed a passion for acting and surfing the web. She transforms into a G.H.O.S.T. surveillance van.

  • Ambiguously Lesbian: If the animated backgrounds during her fake Decepticon backstory are any indication, seems she has a crush on Skywarp.
    • She also fawns over Elita after the latter destroys some boulders.
  • Big Little Sister: As the tallest of the Terrans she towers over her older siblings, Twitch and Thrash. She's even a few inches on Bumblebee.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In "Home" she gets taken over by one of Mandroid's control badges.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Much like Twitch, she has a liking to cute animals and seems to spend much of her Wi-Fi powers watching videos of them online.
  • Large Ham: She's taken a liking to acting and movies, and her acting attempts are firmly in the overdramatic territory.
  • The Movie Buff: Uses her permanent Wifi connection to watch as many movies as possible, "Outtakes" has her attempting to make a movie out of Jawbreaker's attempts to find an alt-mode.
  • Personality Powers: She has the mindset of a Phoneaholic Teenager, and her alt-mode choice gives her the ability to tap into the internet from pretty much everywhere and manipulate G.H.O.S.T. systems.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Has a Transformers-sized phone that she always seems close to and her alt-mode gives her her own Wifi signal.
  • Robot Hair: The satellite dish on the back of her head gives a pony-tail implication.
  • Technopath: Not only does her alt-mode give her access to the internet and G.H.O.S.T. systems, she can use it to control and manipulate other technology.
  • Van in Black: Dark purple rather than black, but she transforms into a G.H.O.S.T. surveillance van that also allows her access to G.H.O.S.T.'s private Wifi network.

    Jawbreaker

Voiced by: Cyrus Arnold, Bill Rogers (Expedition), Nobuyuki Kobushi (Japanese)

A socially awkward but kindhearted Terran who has trouble deciding on an alt-mode for himself. He would eventually learn to transform into a stygimoloch.

  • Affectionate Nickname: His siblings call him JB.
  • Animal Mecha: With help from Grimlock in "A Stygi Situation", Jawbreaker finally discovers his own alt-mode, which is a stygimoloch.
  • Appearance Angst: Takes the longest of the Terrans to acquire an alt-mode. Most of "Outtakes" is him fretting over not being able to find a vehicle that fits him. It takes a pep talk from Elita to make him realize alt-modes can be more than just vehicles.
  • Badass Normal: Because he took the longest to scan an alt-mode, Jawbreaker would lack the unique abilities of Twitch, Thrash, Hashtag, and Nightshade, though he is still strong and can be very clever when the situation calls for it.
  • Cowardly Lion: While Jawbreaker isn't a fan of conflict in general, he'll still step up to fight whenever his family's in danger.
  • Edible Theme Naming: Mo named him after her favorite candy.
  • Gentle Giant: Has the brawniest physique of the first five Terrans and is pretty much a teddy bear by nature.
  • Nice Guy: Easily the kindest of the Terrans.
  • No Social Skills: Jawbreaker has a hard time understanding social cues and expressions.
  • Use Your Head: His alt-mode allows him to unleash headbutts strong enough to knock even the likes of Grimlock off his feet.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Mixed with Stout Strength; Jawbreaker has a wide and short torso with really large arms, but his legs are only slightly less bulky than his arms, and still retain a lot of his body mass. He's also taller than Thrash, who was the taller of the first two Terrans.

    Nightshade

Voiced by: Z Infante, Aaron Landon (Expedition), Kappei Yamaguchi (Japanese)

A newly born Terran who has a knack for building and inventing. They transform into a mechanical owl.

  • Badass Bookworm: The most scientific and analytical-minded of the Terrans but able to outright beat the far more experienced Tarantulas in one-on-one combat.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Their main color is a very dark green, they have an owl form, they're named Nightshade and are one of the heroes.
  • Large Ham: Speaks in a dramatic, theatrical manner.
  • Mad Scientist: An inventor whose devices don't always work right, not dissimilar to Generation 1 Wheeljack
  • Non-Human Non-Binary: Nightshade is the first explicitly and intentionally nonbinary character to appear in a Transformers TV series.note
  • The Owl-Knowing One: Their eventual alt-mode is a mechanical owl and they're the most book-smart among their siblings.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Can switch their eyes in bot and beast mode to red, seemingly as an intimidation tactic.
