I don't have many characters who fight, so I chose one who at least had a weapon. Amadeus Incitatus. Not a main character, but no one is in my mind. I also am afraid I totally screwed up the system so just ignore this post.

1. How was your life at home?

It was... mandatory. Childhood only exists to prepare you for adulthood and that was all my life consisted of. My parents publicly displayed affection. My brother left when we were both young. Is this what you wanted to know?

2. What's your main drive in life?

Only success.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?

Refill my drink, please.

4. How do you fight?

I shoot anyone who threatens me with a psychoactive poison and leave them. The laws have changed and my family doesn't have free reign to murder people anymore.

5. Why do you fight?

I try not to be detected but sometimes that's impossible in my line of work. Then I fight.

6. What do you fight?

Guards, mostly, drug addicts.

7. What is your worst fear?

Staying alert during surgery.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

My chambered dart gun.

9. Who is your closest friend?

If I told you, you may kill them. That is not something you to do a friend.

10. What is your outlook on the idea of love?

Romantic love? I don't know, I can't feel it. Apparently it's an experience close to mental illness.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

Viewing the aether through the Electric Medium.

12. If you could only have one facial expression for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

I would like to look severe and calm, like my mask.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest.

I'm asexual and aromantic. I don't look down on love; I simply can't feel it. I was never jilted in the past or soured on it by my family, like some of the people answering these questions. It's the way I was born.

14. Have you ever thought you were in a "neck deep in trouble" situation?

It has been one situation after the other since I reached adulthood.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

Not believing in it would be dangerous.

16. What's your alignment? Why?

I don't care for politics.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

This drink is terrible. [she pours it into the plant beside her chair]

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave behind as a person - what would you like people to say about you at your funeral?

"She is survived by no one."

19. Preferred method of long-range transportation?

Teleportation.

2o. Favorite vice?

Alcohol and drugs. [she exhales as if she's smoking an invisible cigarette and rolls her eyes, in thought] Anger.

21. What do you do to relax?

I walk slowly through the house with my eyes closed and my hands on the walls.

22. What is your favorite colour?

Burgundy.

23. Describe your worst enemy.

A man who thinks he knows what's best for others and will stop at nothing to further his ideals.

24. Who do you admire?

My parents. They were the first and last admirable people I met.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would be it?

Wishes never work out.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

What was this someone like? Are they richer or poorer than I?

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Everything. Every day.

28. What is your worst memory?

There are no bad memories. I can learn from all of them.

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

I'm reasonably wealthy.

30. Who raised you?

My mother and father. Dead now, by my hand. They understand; they requested it.

Let's see what Dorian has to say. Not that he's a talkative character. Especially about his childhood and past. But I've written what he would answer, if he would.

1. How was your life at home?
I'm a prince, so things were pretty simple. Tutoring in the ways of kingship, magecraft, etc. I strove to make my father proud and would always find comfort at my mother's side.

2. What's your main drive in life?
To complete my quest for the spirits, to find Spring and free her. And my reward: to return home.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?
No, just fundamentally human. Shortsighted, yes, evil not so much.

4. How do you fight?
I do my best to avoid them. Not that many would think to attack a bardmage. Though once I'm forced to act, I strike with enough force that no other action is required.

5. Why do you fight?
As I said, I prefer not to. But I have fought for my freedom, my quest and to right wrongs.

6. What do you fight?
Upset spirits, upset people, sometimes it feels like the fates themselves.

7. What is your worst fear?
Failing my quest, and never seeing my family/people/home again.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?
I'm torn between my lyre and my pendant sigil of office. The first a gift from my teacher and mother, the second my father reminding me of my duty.

9. Who is your closest friend?
I haven't had one in four hundred years. Back home, I'd say Phrygian, he was one of a kind.

10. What is your outlook on the idea of love?
I don't have time for it. And any woman I'd care to court is at home.

11. What is your favorite pastime?
Listening to the Tune of my surroundings, especially by the sea.

12. If you could only have one facial expression for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
Not sure, probably something subtle.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest.
As I said, any woman I'd care to court is beyond my reach.

14. Have you ever thought you were in a "neck deep in trouble" situation?
A couple of times, but my quest-givers offer some level of protection. There was that one time I was almost drowned in La Serenìsima, though.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?
As someone who meets and works with the spirits I find the tone you're using disrespectable. Yes, I can work some minor miracles on my own power, but anything impressive requires me to call for aid.

16. What's your alignment? Why?
Lawful Good. Order is harmony which is good.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.
*crickets*

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave behind as a person - what would you like people to say about you at your funeral?
That I did my duty in love for my people.

19. Preferred method of long-range transportation?
Spiritwalk. However, I miss clues when I travel that way.
Ed. Spiritwalk: travel by walking through the spirit world. At weaker end, something like seven league boots, distance just seems to fly by; higher levels completely leave the physical world, making for effective teleportation.

20. Favorite vice?
I like to eat. Spicier the better.

21. What do you do to relax?
Get away from people and listen to the world's Tune.

22. What is your favorite colour?
Either red, or the colour of the sea at the boundary between shallow and deep water.

23. Describe your worst enemy.
An Atonal.

24. Who do you admire?
My father for his integrity and my mother for her kindness.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would be it?
To succeed in my quest and go home.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?
I'd return it to the one who dropped it. I have no need for it, and the spirits enforce my karma heavily.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?
My quest.

28. What is your worst memory?
Watching my kingdom coming so close to destruction, and being forced to leave in payment for its protection.

29. Are you financially rich or poor?
I would have the royal coffers at my disposal, but have over the centuries amassed a respectable amount of coin.

30. Who raised you?
My parents, our servants, my teacher.

Questions for a main character? A place to spend all eternity! get some writing training. Let's see...

Answering as Lileep, the main character of my current fic and the "first" of his species to be resurrected defossilized clones in my continuity .

1. How was your life at home?

Oh, as boring as usual. Wake up, swim around looking for food, avoid labcoat humans and Marill as much as I can, ponder about the reason behind my existence.

2. What's your main drive in life?

Drive? Haven't thought too much about it. Everyone else just wants to serve under humans, I'm not sure that's got to be more exciting than what I'm already doing.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?

Humans... Incomprehensibly weird creatures. A sort of pseudo-gods who do what they want with us and take care of the world. They wage battles against each other for concepts so abstract as "fame" and "glory", summoning our help instead of getting their own tendrils dirty. They replaced the Elder Ones, and everyone behaves so sumise towards them... Yet, they seem to be genuinely concerned about our welfare, particularly the one the others call "Trainer". And except for the labcoat ones who just won't leave me alone, they are passable to have around, and fun to watch. I'd rather believe them sufficiently evil unless proven otherwise.

4. How do you fight?

I lure the opponents towards me, then keep them around at a safe distance by spitting acid and throwing green power balls towards them. They can try and hit me as much as they want. And when they get comfortable enough to come the closest, wrap them with my tentacles. If they are small enough, suffocate and eat them; otherwise I'll just have to Confuse Ray them into leaving me alone.

5. Why do you fight?

Why? For obvious reasons of course. Get food, keep home, the usual, surviving. "Glory"? Pff....

6. What do you fight?

Anything that comes with the intention of upsetting me, inclusing those pesky humans in lab coats. And for good food, the occasional Feebas... but they're so damn hard to find...

7. What is your worst fear?

Those spherical devices. You know what I'm talking about! Those that make our race disappear in a beam of light, as if they had never existed!

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

Material?... I guess none. [*cries silently*]

9. Who is your closest friend?

Friend? I guess Trainer would be the closest thing to that.

10. What is your outlook on the idea of love?

Love? Care to explain? I have only heard about the concept, but haven't got the chance to ask anyone about it.

11. What is your favourite pastime?

Taking sunbaths in the land-dweller's island, see if they dare trying to force me out of their places.

12. If you could only have one facial expression for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

"Facial"... You mean my cup? Blink more, I guess?

14. Have you ever thought you were in a "neck deep in trouble" situation?

The one time I faced the Trainer's Pokémon companion, the one with yellow fur and zigzaggins black stripes. I had just managed to fend off a land-dweller who was trying to evict me from his island, with great difficulty, and I was trapped too far from water to run away. Then he came and took that monster out in one touch, releasing sparks all over, and then he smiles at me and said, "Guess it is just you and me now".

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? Sleeping gods, talking with ghosts, mildewed old tomes with weird illustrations, that kind of stuff.

You.. you DARE to call our gods "mumbo-jumbo"!

As for the other things, I have no clue what you are talking about.

16. What is your alignment? Why?

Neutral until I learn more about the world to make a better choice.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

Blue, almost translucid sea that reaches everywhere. Lots of Lileep around to chat with and go hunting. Maybe one or two islands in an isolated place to go take sunbaths. And no humans in labcoats.

20. Preferred method of long-range transportation?

Propelling myself using my cup and tentacles underwater. Or anchoring myself to a passing Wailord — they don't seem to care.

21. Favorite Vice?

Feebas meat.

22. What do you do to relax?

Taste the seaweed that lurks in the deepest hides of my water chamber. Mmmmm....

26. What are the loosest circumstances that you would kill someone under?

Food. That's the one reason to kill anyways.

These questions are pretty insistent on the subject. Why would anyone want to kill otherewise?

27. What three tropes would give anyone a good idea of what you are?

Born in the Wrong Century Last of His Kind Sixth Ranger

28. If you had to choose; What environment would you spend the rest of your existence in?

A place like this one, with a giant body of water to live in, plenty of islands, and maybe one or two humans, but NOT the labcoat ones.

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

Uh... what's "financially"?

30. Who raised you?

A Tsundere Sink or Swim Mentor Gyarados. Granted, the swim part is not a problem. And a human who everyone calls Trainer (or, sometimes, Champion). What?

31. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

A wish... if you mean anything I could ever desire, that would definitively be having had actual parents. I feel pretty alone most of the time, being the only one around doesn't exactly help. Plus I'd have someone to actually teach me how to battle.

32. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Wouldn't know. I wouldn't have seen it to begin with. But if I had, I'd guess I would return it, unless the Trainer taught me money was something too valuable to have.

33. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Food. And maybe a talk with the Gods if they ever come visiting around... or are still alive.

I'll answer as Moonbeam, a female Vampire Detective deconstruction.

1. How was your life at home?

Which home do you mean? If you mean when I was human, it was great. We were ordinary farming folk, and had lots of hard work, but we were happy. Until my brother killed Little Bear's child, of course, and Little Bear sought revenge.

If you mean with Little Bear, my vampire father, I enjoyed living with him quite a bit. You have to understand, the person I used to be died when he turned me. I no longer cared that he'd killed my brother. I loved him as a father, with the intensity of love that a child has for a parent, while my human family felt like they belonged to another me, who no longer existed. And sinful living can be very enjoyable. The thrill of killing, the taste of fresh blood - I liked it.

2. What's your main drive in life?

To atone for my sins and earn redemption, and to protect people from my kind.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?

Mostly good. Sure, there is original sin, but it pales in comparison to the evil in a vampire's nature.

4. How do you fight?

Little Bear taught me to fight, so I fight mostly like him - hand to hand, using my vampire speed and strength. My weapons depend on my opponent, but my usual weapon is a silver stake with an iron handle. It used to have a wooden handle, but it got too worn out, and iron feels lighter to a vampire than wood does. But no one else can use it, because staking a vampire generates a powerful electric shock.

5. Why do you fight?

To protect the helpless and earn back God's love.

6. What do you fight?

Vampires, mostly, but recently I've broadened to fight anything nonhuman that threatens the innocent.

7. What is your worst fear?

That I will live in eternal torment.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

The Bible that Brother Paolo gave me when they released me. I've had it ever since. It's very old now, but back then they made books to last, so it's in pretty good shape.

9. Who is your closest friend?

Right now it's Rose Tannenberg, my detective partner. She's a practicing witch and a great friend, and the only one I confide in. But she's so young, she has no real understanding of my life.

10. What is your outlook on the idea of love?

Love? I lost the right to receive love when I became a monster.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

I don't tend to do stuff for enjoyment. I guess what I enjoy most is drinking blood, but I've been trying to cut back. I try to eat regular food, but it makes me choke and it has no taste.

12. If you could only have one facial expression for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

Sorrow.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest.

When I was human, I dreamed of a man who'd sweep me off my feet and teach me the secrets of marriage. But that's gone now.

14. Have you ever thought you were in a "neck deep in trouble" situation?

When Brother Paolo's men caught me. I was visiting my human family and spent longer than I intended there, so I decided to sleep over that day. The next thing I knew, they were chaining me with silver and wrapping me in a blanket so they could take me away. I knew immediately that I'd been caught by the Holy Inquisition, and Little Bear had told me about how they'd been hunting and killing our kind. So I felt sure I was going to die, but they showed mercy on me.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

Believe in it? I live it. This disbelief is very new, actually. When I was growing up, we knew about vampires and other beings.

16. What's your alignment? Why?

I want to be a good person but I fall short in many ways. I guess trying counts for something, so I wouldn't say that I'm evil, but I'm not really good either.

(Note: she's wrong. Inasmuch as alignment actually applies in my world, she'd be Lawful Good.)

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

My kind would not exist. People could live without needing to fear. But I will never be able to bring it about.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave behind as a person - what would you like people to say about you at your funeral?

I had a funeral, but I was asleep at the time, so I missed it. I don't know if I will ever truly die, or if anyone would mourn me. I guess Rose would, but she'd move on.

19. Preferred method of long-range transportation?

I stowed away in a boat once. It wasn't very pleasant - I nearly starved to death. Apart from that, I haven't traveled much.

20. Favorite vice?

Drinking blood straight from the source. I only allow myself to do this to my enemies, though, if they have blood to drink. Elf blood is particularly appetizing.

21. What do you do to relax?

Relax? I never relax. I try to relax by praying, but it makes me more anxious.

22. What is your favorite colour?

I don't know. I don't pay much attention to that sort of thing.

23. Describe your worst enemy.

Myself. Any other enemy I could fight or flee from, but I cannot escape myself.

24. Who do you admire?

Brother Paolo. He saved me, he looked deep inside me and saw the sliver of goodness that remained, and he made it grow.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would be it?

To be human again. That would solve all my problems.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Return it to them, if I could. If not, I would find someone who needed it more than me, like a beggar on the streets.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Redemption. If I die doing something good, surely that would count highly in God's eyes?

28. What is your worst memory?

The time Brother Paolo's men captured me. Or maybe when they did the interrogation by water.

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

I have enough for my expenses. Any more, I give away.

30. Who raised you?

Well, as a human, I was raised by a farming family. Then there was Little Bear.

If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

Happy Duck: Hey, Lux, do you want to answer some questions?

Lux: As long as they don't waste my time.

Happy Duck: Don't worry, they won't.

Lux: Okay, I guess.

1. How was your life at home?

Okay, I guess. My dad died when I was little, and my mom was real busy most of the time. It wasn't abusive or anything, though.

2. What's your main drive in life?

To just keep breathing.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil?

In my experience, humans are a bunch of bastards.

4. How do you fight?

By attrition.

5. Why do you fight?

To stay alive.

6. What do you fight?

My demons.

7. What is your worst fear?

Being betrayed by someone I trust. And just because it's my worst fear doesn't mean it hasn't happened before.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

What's the point of treasuring a thing, anyway? It'll just get trashed.

9. Who is your closest friend?

I really don't have one.

10. What is your outlook on love?

Love isn't my thing.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

Don't have one.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Death glare. It's the only expression I really use anyway.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest?

Love just leaves you open to manipulation. As I said, it's not my thing.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

No. I don't associate with people enough.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

When you can give me some proof, maybe.

16. What's your alignment and why?

Lawful Neutral. I play by the rules, but I don't bother with any of that morality crap.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

If everyone would just leave each other alone, that would be great.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral?

"She did what she had to."

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

A plane. I can just tune out and watch the clouds. The only downside is if the moron next to me decides to make small talk.

20. What is your favorite vice?

Self-pity.

21. What do you do to relax?

I don't do anything in particular to relax.

22. What is your favorite color?

Don't know, don't care.

23. Who is your worst enemy?

The human race. As I said, they're bastards.

24. Who do you most admire?

Once I find someone admirable, I'll let you know.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

To undo the last year or so of my life.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Leave it. It's not my problem.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Some peace in my life.

28. What's your worst memory?

Leave me the fuck alone, will ya? It's none of your business!

(Note: She was raped, but trying to ask her about it will get the above response at best, or a slap at the worst)

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

I have enough. That's all that matters, really.

30. Who raised you?

I did. My mom was never around, my dad was dead, so I was pretty much on my own.

Lux: That the last question?

Happy Duck: Yup.

Lux: Thanks for wasting my time on questions you already know the answer to! -walks out briskly-

Ooh, I love these things! May I try? grin

  • Aidan Knight
  • Age: 26
  • Hair & Eyes: Cool grey
  • Occupation: Magician. (No, not like the kind that pulls rabbits from hats. We're talking about a person who can mix tinctures, perform spells, and pull off other jobs related to magic and the supernatural world.)

1. How was your life at home?

All ups and downs. My mum left when I was a kid, but dad really worked to try and keep things together while she was gone. I was a pretty sucky teenager, ditching school and drinking and all that, but there were no real consequences that I didn't inflict on myself.

2. What's your main drive in life?

Yeeagh, that's a bit of a broad question, isn't it? I guess living life to its fullest, or something to that effect.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil?

Ffft, probably evil. We're kinda bastards. But I can't really hate the team I'm playing for, sooooo...

4. How do you fight?

I have my methods. Transformation magic is usually the most efficient (plus it's cool looking) but offensive and affective spells are also important. Good old fashioned projectiles and bludgeons are nice, too.

5. Why do you fight?

'Cause it's my job. I try not to get into fights too quickly, but as a magician I have to be prepared to do so if necessary.

6. What do you fight?

Faeries. Shut up, it's not as gay as it sounds. Faeries come in all shapes and sizes, and some of them are pretty nasty to deal with. Like I said before, there are methods that don't involve killing them, but about fifty percent of the time they're the ones who started it in the first place.

7. What is your worst fear?

Should I be telling you this? Gah, I dunno. Nobody likes the idea of dying alone, right? Any time I think of ending up face-down in a gutter somewhere (I once walked a direct path to such a place) it makes me shudder a little. ...Thanks for making me consider that again.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

The stickpin my master gave me. She's a crazy, salty old hag, but she knows what she's doing. This pin is pretty valuable in many senses, even though it's ugly as sin.

9. Who is your closest friend?

Carol Brennan. We've been tight since middle school: he's like the dorky brother I never had.

10. What is your outlook on love?

There's an old saying, "Love is like a rollercoaster that's under construction. You start off having fun until you run out of track and plummet to your death." Really. That's kinda how it is.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

I have lots of ways to kill time. I read, I cook (shutup), I loiter around town... I'm rarely bored, but then, I seem to be pretty good at amusing myself.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This smug, lopsided grin that makes me look like an asshole. It's how I usually look anyway.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest?

Salt in the wound! I guess the ideal woman is fun to be around, and smart enough to challenge you and hold good conversation, you know?

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

Ohhhh yeah. There have been times when I was neck-deep in trouble. (Only once literally.)

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

Hell yeah, I'm the one who pushes it!

16. What's your alignment and why?

Like an RPG? Haven't played those since I was a kid... I guess Chaotic Neutral. Like, I don't do anything to help anyone, but I'm not particular bad either.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

If only it were that easy. A perfect world would be fully catered with the best sushi money can buy, served by naked women...

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral?

I'm a showman, though and though! I don't wanna die without anybody noticing; I'm going out with a bang. Funerals are for the living to feel sorry for themselves. I wanna wake. ;D

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

Boats are cool. The big ones are like floating cities, and they can go anywhere in the world.

20. What is your favorite vice?

Where do I start? I've been smoking since I was in highschool; around the same time I developed a taste for rum. Habits like that die hard, but I'm not near as much of a lightweight as I was back then.

21. What do you do to relax?

Pack of cigarettes, a nice bit of tea, a good book... That sounded incredibly fruity, didn't it? Ah well. Real men drink tea on their paisley couches.

22. What is your favorite color?

Blue, or maybe grey.

23. Who is your worst enemy?

Callista Manatos. That woman's insane, even by my standards.

24. Who do you most admire?

My dad, Sam Knight. He's a scientist, a parent and one of the strongest people I've met. It sounds corny, but it's true.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

I'd like to fix a few little medical problems.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Look around, see if anybody claims it, then take it to buy dinner.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

I've done it several times for a particularly good artifact.

28. What's your worst memory?

The night I burned myself was pretty bad.

(Note: Aidan sustained sizable 3rd degree burns all over his body at age 17 when a spell backfired on him.)

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

Rich-er, though I owe a lot of that to owning a house.

30. Who raised you?

Since I was 8, my dad. Mum was around before that, but I don't remember much about her.

Answering as Mac Donnagh, professional freelancer.

1. How was your life at home? Generally quiet. No siblings, parents often worked late.

2.What's your main drive in life? To make money and have excitement.

3.Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil? It's not human nature, its the world we live in that's fundamentally evil. You have some good people out there, but you have others who have succumbed to the world's efforts.

4. How do you fight? With guns. Knives. Whatever works and is most efficient. Occasionally I go for whatever gives the best show, but that's only on easy jobs.

5. Why do you fight? For money.

6. What do you fight? Whatever I'm hired to kill that doesn't go down after the first shot.

7. What is your worst fear? Fear?

8. What is your most treasured material possession? My .50 cal handgun, without a doubt. Saved my ass more than I'd like to admit.

9. Who is your closest friend? Friend?

10. What is your outlook on love? A delusion of the idealistic public attempting to tack on extra sentimentality to the subjects of their sex drives.

11. What is your favorite pastime? Listening to classical music. Or music in general.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be? My trademark grin. Scientifically proven to cause the anal discharge of bricks.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest? See my answer to question 10.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble? A couple times. I came out alright though. Body armor helped a fair bit.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? I do now. After a rather interesting encounter with the denizens of Hell, I now firmly believe that it exists.

16. What's your alignment and why? What are you going on about? Good and evil? I'm a freelancer, I do whatever I'm payed to do.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world. This one. Lots to do, plenty of playing customers.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral? I'd like to be known as a "badass you don't want to fuck with even in your daydreams". Oh, wait, I'm already known as that. As for my funeral? I don't give a damn. I'm not going to have a real funeral anyways. I'm going to go down fighting someone. Probably on a hit from one syndicate to another.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation? Airline. Fast, and if anyone tries to jack it or anything like that, I'll kill them. I like arriving safely at my destination.

20. What is your favorite vice? I'm a man of many vices. Choosing one would take too long.

21. What do you do to relax? Sit back in a chair, listen to some tunes.

22. What is your favorite color? Orange.

23. Who is your worst enemy? The term "enemies" is too personal for a man such as myself. I don't care enough about any individual for them to be an "enemy".

24. Who do you most admire? Madeline Falconer. That woman had balls. Of course, I use the word "admire" loosely.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be? Eternal youth. I can already make my own money, I've made myself powerful, and I'm smart enough as it is. Eternal life without aging, that's the one thing I don't have.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do? Take it.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get? Money, and I already have. Most of the times I take a job, I risk my life.

28. What's your worst memory? When I had two bullets in my left leg. Closest I've come to dying so far.

29. Are you financially rich or poor? Rich.

30. Who raised you? My parents. Babysitters. The usual.

I'm going to answer as Zana, an action-oriented heroine in a Science Fiction story I'm planning. She was genetically engineered by her parents for superior strength and agility. In a mild example of Gone Horribly Wrong, she also wound up developing a Vagina Dentata. She currently works for a Heroes "R" Us-type Agency.

1. How was your life at home? Better than most people would think. People avoided me and my family, because my parents were a bit crazy, but they weren't bad parents. They meant well.

2.What's your main drive in life? Right now? Excitement! Life to the fullest!

3.Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil? Really? Ask Ari. I don't really think about that much.

4. How do you fight? The only body parts I ever use to fight are my arms and my legs, if that's what you're asking.

5. Why do you fight? The pain. No, really. Sometimes, you just want to hurt your opponent. But beyond that, it's for the agency that recruited me. They were the best thing that ever happened to me. I even met Ari there. So I also fight because I'm enormously grateful to them.

6. What do you fight? Anything I'm assigned to, really. Unless it's young. Or innocent.

7. What is your worst fear? (will come back to this one)

8. What is your most treasured material possession?(will come back to this one)

9. Who is your closest friend? Ari. He's my backup, my best friend, my mentor, and my sub. I don't know what I'd do without him.

10. What is your outlook on love? It's starting to grow on me. I had dated one guy before Ari came along. My Vagina Dentata scared him off. Well, it wasn't all him. I kind of drove him away after he found out, which was a bad idea, since he wound up blabbing to other people about me.

11. What is your favorite pastime? (will come back to this one)

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be? A smile. Not a gentle one, mind you. More of a wild, ecstatic one.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest? Someone who can keep up with me; I enjoy a little conflict. But also someone I can trust. And obviously not afraid of a little pain.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? No. Why would I?

16. What's your alignment and why? I try to be Chaotic Good.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral? I wouldn't really want too many people at my funeral. It would just be weird. But those who do come, I'd want them to say that I was loyal, and that I lived life to the fullest.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

20. What is your favorite vice? I'm too violent. And I've been asked multiple times if I'm insane.

21. What do you do to relax?

22. What is your favorite color?

23. Who is your worst enemy? I've fought so many people. The one that really sticks out, though is The Mother. I was obsessed. I had to destroy it whatever the cost. Afterwards, I figured out why. I hated the idea that a computer could create life and I couldn't.

24. Who do you most admire?

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get? I would risk my life for my agency, but I'm required to do that. I would risk my life to protect children. And of course, I would risk my life for Ari.

28. What's your worst memory?

29. Are you financially rich or poor? I was pretty well-to-do as a kid. Not extremely rich, though.

30. Who raised you? My parents.

...I'll finish the questionnaire later.

Teutonic Tomboy T-Girl

Answering as Cookie Jarr, Jet Dream's teen T-Girl and leader of J.E.T. T.E.E.N. A young boy-turned-Action Girl from 1970 with a horrific case of Totally Radical.

1. How was your life at home? I grew up in Lillehammer, Norway, and got to ski a lot as a boy, dig? Not so much of that in Southern California! A lot of cats think I'd miss my old "boy parts" most, but it's really the skiing!

2.What's your main drive in life? Winning the "Cool War" with the Reds, natch! "Fem is In" worldwide, but the world's teen boys can dig the with-it Elle-Boy looks without Communist brainwashing, y'know?

3.Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil? My noggin says human nature's fundamentally fun. People want to groove to the latest dance crazes and wear the gearest new miniskirts more than they want to hurt each other, Daddy-O!

4. How do you fight? With my enhanced T-Girl agility, stamina, and strength, natch! Plus all that fab Jet Dream training! I love Dance Riflery and Gyno-Grenade Gymnastics!

5. Why do you fight? Probably got something to do with these cats shooting at me. That's totally uncool!

6. What do you fight? Everything from the reds to dirty crooks like Z.E.R.O. who don't care about anybody but themselves.

7. What is your worst fear? You haven't heard the buzz? T-Girls are totally fearless! Oh, OK, so maybe that's not the most titanically truth-tellin' answer I could give you cats. I guess I'm still afraid of letting my fellow T-Girls down. I wonder sometimes if I'm still deep down that goofy screw-up I used to be as a teen boy mascot.

8. What is your most treasured material possession? See this huge emerald I got as a reward from the governor of Fiji? I never cared much for diamonds, either as a boy or as a girl, but emeralds are a T-Girl's friend!

9. Who is your closest friend? Girlfriends and boyfriends are kind of a different thing, right? Don't tell him I said this, but even though we're always fighting, it's probably Dana, my "Elle-Boy Rival!"

10. What is your outlook on love? Love is totally OUTASITE! Only thing I'm not sure about is whether it's better with boys or girls, but I'm in no rush to decide on that one!

11. What is your favorite pastime? Dancing to the gearest new tunes!

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be? Sometimes I think I do! All that cornball jazz about smiling and the whole world smiles with you? Even if people in Squaresville say it, doesn't mean it's not true!

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest? Man-o-man, that's a toughie! I can't figure out whether I dig boys more than girls, "trad" boys, or Elle-Boys! I've dated Brian Bell, the CIA's top Teen-Agent, a lot lately, and even though I dig his "trad" male looks, I can't help wondering what he'd look like in long hair, makeup, and a cute fem outfit!

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble? Just, like, every day, Daddy-O! Trouble is a T-Girl's biz!

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? It might sound kooky from a girl who used to be a boy, but even with all the weird stuff we've seen in Jet Dream and even the old T-Bird Squadron, I think science explains it all. At least that's what Marlene says, and she's got, like, the biggest T-Girl science brain anywhere! Even if Harmony does say our new helicopter is haunted!

16. What's your alignment and why? Don't let anyone tell you Lawful Good's just for squares! It's hip to help people and let them groove in peace!

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world. One where any boy can grow up to be a girl, an Elle-Boy, or even a "trad" guy if he wants (and won't have to submit to super-uncool tyranny to do it!)

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral? That Cookie was the foxiest and grooviest T-Girl chick ever!

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation? Oh, we've got so many cool jets in Jet Dream, I don't know where to start! I do kinda dig our new Athena X-34 Stratolifter copter, though. When I'm not piloting it, I can "chill out" with my T-Girl pals in the back for a while!

20. What is your favorite vice? Um... Kissing, for sure.

21. What do you do to relax? I guess I'll go with "kissing" again!

22. What is your favorite color? Jet Dream White, natch!

23. Who is your worst enemy? We fight all sorts of baddies, but He-She Svetlana, that KGB trans-fem chick, she's like my personal enemy. We have to win the Cool War and show that her way of making a better, femmer world would be super-uncool, for real!

24. Who do you most admire? Oh, it's still Harmony. I think I admire her even more since the days when she was Jack Thunder. It's not as easy for the more "old-fashioned" generations to adapt to becoming girls, but Harmony did it!

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be? World peace and every guy who wants it can become a T-Girl!

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do? Much as I dig bread, the J.E.T. T.E.E.N. Foundation always needs more to prepare the youth of the world for the coming fem-future!

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get? Man, you're makin' me sound like a totally ungroovy square with some of these questions, but, yeah, that whole "world peace" jazz.

28. What's your worst memory? The first time I was "girled", probably. It was temporary, but I was totally unprepared for it... and couldn't even talk, to boot! I didn't realize how groovy it is to be a girl til later!

29. Are you financially rich or poor? I don't get all that much bread, but NATO lets us use just about anything we could possibly need, including Cool Plane, Cool Car, all the latest fab fashions... can't complain!

30. Who raised you? I guess all the Thunderbirds were my surrogate dads when I was just an orphaned boy from Norway... and they're still my big sisters today!

This character has no traditional 'name' (at least, not one that they tell anyone else), but is called many things, including God, Them, President, The Ruler, Supreme Overload, The Boss, Our Parent, Their Eminence, etc.. A mysterious figure that rose in my world in an era of chaos and bitter feuds and literally took over the world. An immortal shapeshifting being with no defined gender, age, race/species, or culture, it convinced the world it was a God and exercised ruthless control over everything for centuries after, creating an enforced peace.

- - - - -

1. How was your life at home? I look back on my childhood with fondness. I was raised well by good people. I was taught everything from history to science to magics to the arts, from the best the world had to offer. The foundations of my being were all nurtured there.

2.What's your main drive in life? To mend the world of its most grievous misfortunes and set it in the proper path.

3.Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil? Neither good nor evil is anything born. That is composed of choices.

4. How do you fight? Any means possible. Armies, magic, diplomacy, strategic genius, threats, blackmail, trade, and my own hands if necessary.

5. Why do you fight? Power over others. Power over all. Power is necessary to enforce prosperity.

6. What do you fight? All who oppose me. Any nation, group, individual, traitor, ideologically opposed friend, that is in my way shall be dealt with somehow. If it comes to violence, there is no avoiding it.

7. What is your worst fear? I will not live forever. Time and change march on. One day, someone will deny God, and they will fight me, and they will win. With my death, the destruction afterward, the chaos... will be like none the world has seen since the days before my ascension.

8. What is your most treasured material possession? My people.

9. Who is your closest friend? She is long-dead now...

10. What is your outlook on love? I was taught the importance of love from very young. The day I forget to love the world is the day I don't deserve to be God.

11. What is your favorite pastime? I often pose as a normal person or creature among the common people.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be? The lack of any expression. One may read this as pensiveness, boredness, or being subdued.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest? I've had many lovers in my life, I wouldn't say I have any single ideal. I enjoy variety.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble? As a young child, perhaps a few times, and most certainly many times during The Endwar.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? What is true is true, what is not true is false. Some occult is obviously true, some just stories or rumors, as most things relating to magic. What a silly question.

16. What's your alignment and why? Neutral Good. I am motivated by the needs of my world, and the means to that end can be any that are effective.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world. The one I am trying to form. Free of war, environmentally sustainable, culturally diverse, internationally collaborative, intellectually enlightened, and uncorrupted.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? A great and benevolent God that brought about the most prosperous era since the dawn of this world... Every era must eventually end, but I want my time to be looked back on as what the world After will always aspire to. The closest taste to Utopia, an uncorruptable leader...

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation? Teleportation is most convenient, and reminds people I am indeed a God.

20. What is your favorite vice? If there is something I find value in, it is not a vice. Gods don't have vices.

21. What do you do to relax? Paperwork.

22. What is your favorite color? Gray.

23. Who is your worst enemy? Lately the group Those Who Rage Against God have been a thorn in my side. I'll need to crush them soon.

24. Who do you most admire? If They count, The Spirit, the actual God that the people have slowly forgotten. Otherwise, the scientists and rest of the group that had created me. They were the best minds of their time, strong in mind and kind in heart. My time can tell you, such combinations are hard to find. Their ambition is what created me, and through me created this world.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be? That my time could truly last forever. I wish I was a true God.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?' Return it. What would I have need of it? I'm a God.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get? I already have. I risked my life to gain this throne on the top of the world.

28. What's your worst memory? That is mine to keep.

29. Are you financially rich or poor? The richest, quite literally.

30. Who raised you? A large group of scientists, alchemists, mages, and various other intellectuals created and then raised me, together as a group. It was a wonderful community. In fact, that thriving atmosphere is the same I strive to achieve in my own circle of peers now.

  • 24. Who do you admire?
    • Brianna: Melvin, he appears to me and shares his knowledge with me. I look up to him as a teacher.

  • 25. If you could have one wish granted, what would be it?
    • Brianna: Vast amounts of knowledge and immortality to educate the children of the future.
    • Ryan: To be able to stop every crime.

    • Both: Our father before we disowned him.
  • 29. Are you financially rich or poor?
    • Both: We're middle-class.

I'll have Thracian answer.

1. How was your life at home? Well, it was pretty uneventful, besides the death of my three best friends.

2. What's your main drive in life? I'm a soldier, and I preserve order in this wreck of a global state.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil? Neither. We're essentially a bunch of lucky idiots.

4. How do you fight? I'll whip out my hasta, my gladius, and my scutum.

5. Why do you fight? I fight to make sure people can go to bed and wake up with their property and limbs intact.

6. What do you fight? Mostly looters and highwaymen, fae, quite often, and occasionally a dinosaur or two.

7. What is your worst fear? What do you think? The Senate at Rome falling apart, that's what!

8. What is your most treasured material possession? It's my gladius. If I ever lost it, I'd be dead meat.

9. Who is your closest friend? Nowadays, it's Rhavion. Drael is trustworthy, but she has this air about her...

Okay, here goes mine. This is for, alternatively, Scott, Dono, Violet and Suzanne, three of the protagonists for my work-in-progress vampire novel Suzanne. I couldn't chose just one. Keep in mind There are occasions when these guys are being way more open than they usually would be, and if it gets too out of hand I add a note saying they "confided it to me later" or something.

1. How was your life at home?

  • Scott: My memories a little fuzzy on the subject. I can't say whether or not that's a bad thing.
  • Dono: It was...okay. I can't complain, but I can't really say I miss it either.
  • Violet: I remember screaming. Horrible, constant screaming. I'm a little fuzzy on where the screams were coming from.
  • Suzanne: It was great. My parents were very cool and understanding people. I'm happy we found a way I can see them on occasion.

2. What's your main drive in life?

  • Scott: Keeping from being noticed and arousing suspicion. But above all, staying alive.
  • Dono: Dead.
  • Scott: Whatever.
  • Dono: Mine is to return some semblance of normalcy to my life—death—does it matter? I'm tired of all this sneaking around bullshit and my friends are probably wondering what the hell happened to me.
  • Suzanne: I'm with Dono on this one.
  • Violet: Blood. Flesh. Food. Lots of it. Sex, too, if the mood strikes me. ...I'm trying to fix that.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?

  • Scott: I don't think it's fundamentally anything. It's like...like...
  • Dono: ...like asking what the fundamental flavor of a Skittle is. I think. Do those have different flavors? It's been a while.
  • Suzanne: Yeah. I think people are basically good.
  • Violet: Lives are like chocolates...or something.

4. How do you fight?

  • Scott: Fight?
  • Dono: There was that chick once. With the stake.
  • Violet: She was delicious.
  • Suzanne: I think that answers the question.
  • Violet: Sometimes my food fights. I fight back with my teeth.

5. Why do you fight?

  • Scott: Wait. Did I miss something? What girl?
  • Dono: You honestly don't remember this?
  • Violet: : I fight for control. Control of my self. Control of my mind. I fight for sanity.
  • Suzanne: I fared pretty poorly if I remember correctly.
  • Dono: How many times is that arm going to come off?
  • Suzanne: I don't know.

6. What do you fight?

  • Violet: Me.
  • Dono: Is it just me or is Violet making frighting amounts of sense?
  • Suzanne: It's just you.

7. What is your worst fear?

  • Scott: I fear nothing.
  • Dono: Please. You fear one of these days you'll have to admit you still feel. Mine's sunlight.
  • Suzanne: Can't say I blame you.
  • Violet: Starvation.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

  • Scott: I don't understand the question and I refuse to acknowledge it. (He later confided to us that it was an old chest his grandfather used to own.)
  • Dono: My car. If I could I'd bite it and turn it into a vampire. A vampire car. It would live forever.
  • Suzanne: Joey's head.
  • Dono: Does he qualify?
  • Suzanne: Alright, fine. My baseball bat.

9. Who is your closest friend?

  • Scott: Dono.
  • Dono: Funny, I thought I'd be in the running for material possession.
  • {Scott allows himself a smile.} I'd have to say Scott.
  • Suzanne: Beth.
  • Violet: ...You guys.
  • Dono: Awwww...you don't hang out with anyone else.

10. What is your outlook on the idea of love?

  • Scott: Impractical considering our position in life.
  • Dono: Please, ignore Mr. Spock here.
  • Scott: You have to consider that your la—
  • Dono: We're not going there.
  • Suzanne: If I meet someone I'll know. Keeping them around would be difficult, though.
  • Dono: Just do to him what you did to Jo—Dope Slap
  • Suzanne: Shut up.
  • Violet: I...I need to leave the room for a bit.

11. What is your favourite pastime?

  • Scott: Reading. It's one of life's greatest pleasures.
  • Dono: Just hanging out and laughing with the guys.
  • Suzanne: Baseball.
  • Scott: I think we can safely assume what Violet would've said might not be good for prolonging nausea.

12. If you could only have one facial expression for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

  • Dono: Well, Scott's already chosen one.
  • Suzanne: Dono would have a perpetual maniac grin.
  • Dono: And Suzanne would be upset all the time.
  • Suzanne: I am not!

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest?

  • Scott: No comment.
  • Dono: Damnit, Scott, you stole my answer.
  • Suzanne: He'd have to have a sense of humor and decency. He'd have to be deep. And he'd have to be a Cubs fan.

14. Have you ever thought you were in a "neck deep in trouble" situation?

  • Dono: Julia. Full stop.
  • Scott: What, the chick with the stake?
  • Suzanne: I seem to recall her going down pretty easily.
  • {Violet reenters.}
  • Suzanne: And here's the reason why...

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? Sleeping gods, talking with ghosts, mildewed old tomes with weird illustrations, that kind of stuff.

  • Dono: We kind of have no choice....
  • Suzanne: There are Gods and ghosts?
  • Dono: Jury's still out on the ghost thing, and I'm fairly convinced there's no God.
  • Suzanne: Wait, wait, what qualifies as a ghost?
  • Dono: It's complicated. Ill Explain Later.

16. What is your alignment? Why?

  • Suzanne: Alignment?
  • Dono: Chaotic neutral.
  • {All stare at Dono}
  • Dono: So I've roleplayed. What?
  • Scott: I'd say chaotic evil.
  • {All stare at Scott}
  • Scott: I had a life too, you know.
  • Dono: Scott's got a point. We kill and eat people. Usually not in that order.
  • Suzanne: It's not like we want to, though. We have to. Does that count for anything.
  • Violet: I want to.
  • Suzanne: Fine. You be...what was it?
  • Dono: Chaotic evil.
  • Suzanne: Chaotic evil.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

  • Scott: One in which we're not vampires.
  • Dono: But get to keep the superpowers.
  • Violet: You two are nuts.
  • Suzanne: I'm with Scott on this one.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral?

  • Dono: Oo, that's a long ways away. I'd like people to remember me as a real ladykiller.
  • Suzanne: No issues there...
  • Scott: I don't want to leave an impression.
  • Violet: I don't want a funeral.

19. Preferred method of long-range transportation?

  • Dono: My car.
  • Scott: My feet.
  • Violet: My feet.
  • Suzanne: My feet.
  • Dono: What's wrong with my car?

20. Favorite Vice?

  • Violet: Wrath. Gluttony.
  • Dono: Pride. Sloth.
  • Suzanne: You guys are weird. Mine's acedia.
  • Dono: What?
  • Suzanne: Read a book.
  • Scott: It's procrastination.
  • Dono: What's yours?
  • Scott: Wearing funny pants to a funeral.
  • Dono: *{laughs}

21. What do you do to relax?

  • Scott: Read.
  • Dono: Watch TV. Fuck.
  • Suzanne: Pig.
  • Dono: Oh, shut up.
  • Violet: I never relax.

22. What is your favorite color?

  • Scott: Blue.
  • Dono: Yellow.
  • Violet: Red.
  • Suzanne: Blue.

23. Who is your worst enemy?

  • Violet: Myself.
  • Suzanne: Not sure this one really applies to us...

24. Who do you most admire?

  • Scott: When I was alive it was my father. I can't remember him now...
  • Dono: Suzanne. She's done an amazing job adjusting to this life.
  • Suzanne: Aw, thanks.
  • Dono: Now you have to say me for being such an awesome mentor.

25. What are the loosest circumstances that you would kill someone under?

  • Dono: *{Laughs}
  • Suzanne: You can't be serious.
  • Violet: It's a little hard not killing you right now.
  • Scott: I think we can safely say this question is irrelevant.

26. What three tropes would give anyone a good idea of what you are?

27. If you had to choose; What environment would you spend the rest of your existence in?

  • {And I just plain don't understand this one, sorry.}

28. Are you financially rich or poor?

  • Dono: Poor.
  • Suzanne: Dirt poor.
  • Scott: We've been living in a condemned building as of late. The High Council has stopped sending us checks.
  • Dono: Fortunately when you have hypnotism there's easy ways to get around needing money.

29. What's your worst memory?

  • Suzanne: The day I was 'made'.
  • Dono: That's a second for me. I don't want to talk about mine...
  • Scott: Me neither.
  • Dono: Please, you probably "don't remember" it.
  • Violet: Last night I cried myself to sleep. It was horrible.

30. Who raised you?

  • Scott: My father.
  • Dono: I thought you "couldn't remember".
  • Scott: Shut up. It was definitely my father.
  • Dono: My mother raised me.
  • Suzanne: My parents had equal hands in it. They did a pretty good job.
  • Violet: A series of increasingly annoying old women.

31. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

  • Suzanne: Not to have to eat people.
  • Dono: Here, here!
  • Scott: Can't argue with that one.
  • Violet: I miss the sun on my face.

32. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

  • Dono: Grab it and run.
  • Suzanne: Try to return it.
  • Scott: No, no, Dono's got the right idea.
  • Violet: I'd use it as bait.

33. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

  • Scott: Food. We all risk our lives for it monthly.

1. How was your life at home?

Twins, so both are answering.

C: pretty nice until Meda got her apprenticeship and left.then things got hard really fast because I suddenly had to be all responsible, and do a lot of boring things because it was my duty and stuff. I wish things could go back to the way they were. M: Not bad until I got my apprenticeship. Then things were great for a while. I was learning lots of things, and I loved my work as a sculptor. then Orion killed Eridanus and everything went down the drain.

C&M: Our parents are the best.

2. What's your main drive in life?

C: To do what I think is right, and to protect my family

M: To help bring peace back to the world since, you know it's my fault everything is bad right now. To fix my mistakes and learn form them.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?

C: I'm beginning to wonder about that, having met Aquarious and Arachne. (freaks!)

M: I think it has the potential to be good. I think we all mess up a lot.

I suppose I’ll share my answers between my two main characters.

1. How was your life at home?

  • Flynn: Simple enough. Get up, learn to hunt, learn to fight. We’re isolated, but far too close to the Sky Men for our liking, so we’re always on our toes. It was nice though, until it was gone.
  • Cess: Home for me would’ve been the Temple. It was privileged. The more of the “outside” I see, the more I realize that.

2.What's your main drive in life?

  • Flynn: To break the caste system.
  • Cess: To grow strong enough that the Council can’t push me around.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil?

  • Flynn: The majority of my race are second class citizens because we were born without magic. Nature, in all it’s forms, is fundamentally evil. It’s our job to fight that.
  • Cess: We’re all individuals. Nobody is fundamentally anything.

4. How do you fight?

  • Flynn: Sword and Shield, standard Armenian tactics.
  • Cess: Magic. What else?

5. Why do you fight?

  • Flynn: I wasn’t exactly given a choice in the matter...
  • Cess: Because I’m not strong enough to do otherwise.

6. What do you fight?

  • Flynn: Whatever I’m told to fight. I’m like a dog...except capable of hating myself for my actions
  • Cess: I fight those who would go against the Council and the Crown.

7. What is your worst fear?

  • Flynn: Losing everything. Again.
  • Cess: Being Marked. Cast out. Stripped of everything I’m promised by birth.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

  • Flynn: I learned a long time ago that material things die. All I have left are the people important to me.
  • Cess: My staff. It belonged to Sor before I....before I killed him. It’s all I have left of him.

9. Who is your closest friend?

  • Flynn: Kelt. Nia. Riv.
  • Cess: Flynn.

10. What is your outlook on love?

  • Flynn: Love happens. I don’t know what it feels like, though I suppose I’ll know when it hits me.
  • Cess: You know true love the moment you set eyes on someone. Sometimes people just take a while to figure it out.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

  • Flynn: Relaxing. I like to fish.
  • Cess: Read. I tried to teach Flynn, but he has no patience for it.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

  • Flynn: What kind of question is that?
  • Cess: I don’t know. Maybe a slight smile? Amusement?

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest?

  • Flynn: Someone who can live. Can laugh. Someone who’s smart....smarter than me. Who shares, or at least understands my ideals.
  • Cess: Somebody strong, someone that can protect me. Someone that can help me when I’m down.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

  • Flynn: I tend to think that a lot nowadays.
  • Cess: It would really take too long.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

  • Flynn: I travel with a girl who lifts things with her mind and kills with a flick of her wrist. Are you implying I’m stupid?
  • Cess: I’m not even going to answer that.

16. What's your alignment and why?

  • Flynn: Chaotic Neutral. Change needs to happen, and it needs to happen now.
  • Cess: Lawful Neutral. If the law falls apart, society falls apart.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

  • Flynn: Someplace the common man is equal to his neighbor. I don’t care about war or hunger, or anything like that...just the ability for everyone to help decide their own fate.
  • Cess: A world where I don’t have to be a weapon for the Council.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person?

  • Flynn: Somebody who genuinely tried to do the right thing.
  • Cess: A powerful, demanding figure, who only lightly touches “earthly” problems

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

  • Flynn: I have to admit, the Griffons were very, very cool.
  • Cess: Griffons.

20. What is your favorite vice?

  • Flynn: Probably drinking. * Cess: Vices don’t particularly apply to people like me.

21. What do you do to relax? Flynn: Fish Cess: Read

22. What is your favorite color?

  • Flynn: Green
  • Cess: Blue

23. Who is your worst enemy?

  • Flynn: The Council
  • Cess: Currently? Brandon.

24. Who do you most admire?

  • Flynn: The current Duke of Newbrook.
  • Cess: Sor

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

  • Flynn: It would be a toss up between equality among the people and Devon.
  • Cess: That I hadn’t been stupid. That I hadn’t made that mistake at Huntings.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

  • Flynn: Take it. Spend it on something useful, something I could use.
  • Cess: I don’t really get charged for things...give it to Flynn and the others.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

  • Flynn: Of course.
  • Cess: Happiness.

28. What's your worst memory?

  • Flynn: The Huntings Massacre. Whatever killed them...
  • Cess: The Huntings Massacre. Knowing I killed them....

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

  • Flynn: Poor, of course.
  • Cess: I normally don’t worry about money.

30. Who raised you?

  • Flynn: My parents.
  • Cess: The nurses and masters in the Temple.

The yet unnamed main character of my story speaks. He lives in a Low Fantasy setting.

1. How was your life at home? Good enough. There were many restrictions and prohibitions, but there were also many people to look after me, and I had many friends. I have no complaints.

2.What's your main drive in life? Main drive? …I suppose it’s to learn more about the world. To find out why it’s the way it is.

3.Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil? No, of course not. Some people are good, some are evil, and most are in the middle. But it’s their own choice.

4. How do you fight? With a spear, usually. And with superior numbers, preferably.

5. Why do you fight? For profit, most of the time. Of course, some times it’s necessary for my survival.

6. What do you fight? Humans. Only humans. If you have trouble with spirits, go find someone else.

7. What is your worst fear? That someone will use this “magic” against me. What could be worse than that?

8. What is your most treasured material possession? My spear. It’s nothing special though… I had two swords that I treasured, but I lost them many years ago. Do they count?

9. Who is your closest friend? I hardly have any friends anymore… There was one guy though, in Salevium. We got pretty close.

10. What is your outlook on love? My outlook… It’s love. It’s important. Everyone loves something or somebody.

11. What is your favorite pastime? Making things. Like constructing a tiny tower from wooden branches.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be? A completely neutral expression. The one I have most of the time.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest. I don’t know, really. I’ve never thought about it. I guess she had to be… nice?

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble? Yes, once or twice. It’s a dangerous world.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? Of course I do. “Magic” exists, spirits exist… I don’t know if everything I have heard it’s true. I guess much of it is false, but how could I know which?

16. What's your alignment and why? True Neutral. Maybe Neutral Good. I usually mind my own business, but I have helped people at times without asking for a reward… But that’s so rare, I doubt it counts. Maybe you should ask someone else?

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world. If there were no wars, no magic, no spirits… and no bandits either, a world where one could live carefree. That would leave me unemployed though. But I wouldn’t mind.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? A reliable man. One who can keep his word, and who can be trusted not to turn on you.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation? I prefer to walk, actually, out of habit. But horses are much more convenient, so I never do that.

20. What is your favorite vice? I’ve never thought about that either. Wrath, I suppose… Yes, definitely wrath. I’m somewhat ashamed of it.

21. What do you do to relax? I sit down and make something out of whatever I can reach.

22. What is your favorite color? Gray. Gray is good. I like it.

23. Who is your worst enemy? I don’t have any enemies. I don’t get in the way of other people.

24. Who do you most admire? I have met some worthy men and women. Kind, brave, compassionate. What else could one ask?

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be? That I would be back at my home, with my all friends and the people I knew as a child. That we could live there happily, safe from the rest of the world.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do? It depends. If the one who dropped it was rich enough not to care much about it, I would pick it up. Else I would return it.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get? Nothing I can think of.

28. What's your worst memory? That time where someone used “magic” against me and my friends. I still haven’t gotten over it. Not completely.

29. Are you financially rich or poor? I don’t have much money, but it was always enough to pay for shelter, food and information. Many are not so lucky. Or so smart. But I have an unfair advantage here.

30. Who raised you? My mother, my uncle and my aunt, mainly. But there were several other people who looked after me, as well as the other children. They deserve much credit too.

Report presented by Warden Marx

An interrogation of space pirate Captain Isaac Lamarck III, recorded during a temporary apprehension at Jato VII, follows.

Please note that Lamarck is an eccentric, a criminal and a notorious liar, and is likely being facetious or insincere at several points.

1. How was your life at home? A true corsair calls nowhere his home! Save perhaps his ship, though the tin-can I fly in can scarcely be called a home...

2.What's your main drive in life? To reach the heart of the universe and see for myself the greatest of wonders!

3.Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil? I have seen too much good and too much wickedness to make a judgement. Humans seem rather a mixed bunch, if I may say so.

4. How do you fight? I fight in the style of the true duelling gentleman, with a fine rapier! Though tactics occasionally demand that I pull a handgun instead.

5. Why do you fight? For those goodhearted people I meet during my travels; for freedom, and glory, and a gentleman's honour!

6. What do you fight? All manner of foes. Strormtroopers from far-flung empires, hideous monsters, those wicked spacedogs that dare call themselves pirates, anyone who threatens myself, my crew or the weak and defenseless!

7. What is your worst fear? To become a man without hopes or dreams.

8. What is your most treasured material possession? A few... keepsakes. I shall not go into details. [[The closest thing the brigand has given to an honest answer. Search for said keepsakes if and when he is next captured.]]

9. Who is your closest friend? My first mate, dear old Kenneth, is a stand-up fellow! I have a few other old friends scattered throughout the stars.

10. What is your outlook on love? Love? I love the world! I love my dreams! I love life itself!

11. What is your favorite pastime? Cooking a fine meal. Occasionally, consuming said meal can be quite exquisite as well!

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be? A devilish grin to strike fear into my foes, and inspire my comrades! Flee, fly, you vermin! Your justice is come!

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest. Women? Curious creatures, sometimes. I simply don't see what all the awful fuss is about.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble? Many a time, but I and my fine friends have always fought, talked or thought our way out in utterly magnificent fashion! Harrumph!

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo? There are many amazing, unexplainable things in this existence... I shall experience them all.

16. What's your alignment and why? Neutral Good. I value kindness, freedom and the gentleman's honour code in equal measure.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world. A world even more colourful and exciting than this one, without all the villains and suffering and whatnot!

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? A hero, a scoundrel, a freedom fighter! A fine chef, at that.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation? I sail the sea of stars by ship! I could really do with a larger, more aesthetically appealing vessel, but the cargo ship I... acquired ten years ago will do just fine.

20. What is your favorite vice? Sometimes gluttony, sometimes laziness. I do like to live in comfort.

21. What do you do to relax? I sit in my bridge chair and look out at all those brilliant stars. *sigh*

22. What is your favorite color? Red. Anger! Passion! Nobility! Courage! Do you not admire this fine coat of mine?

23. Who is your worst enemy? Boredom!

24. Who do you most admire? Some of the universe's 'heroes' are simply stuffy old straightlaced dullards, but I've met some truly brave men and women. Courageous people shall always have my respect.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be? I would want to arrive at the centre of reality, in this very moment, and see the infinite glory for mine own eyes!

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do? Careless bounder! I need more wealth. This shall do nicely.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get? I risk my life day after day for all sorts of things.

28. What's your worst memory? Burning that one plaice dinner I prepared. Agh, what a terrible faux pas! The wealthy landowners in Praxis have even less respect for me now.

29. Are you financially rich or poor? I make a living stealing from the unjust, but I am far from rich. Perhaps some kind of fabulous heist is in order...

30. Who raised you? My, these questions are inappropriately personal at times. I was raised by pirates, with pirates, born to bring burning freedom and shining hope to the darkest reaches of infinity!

Enough of this questioning. Such probing is an insult to my gentleman's honour! HAVE AT YE!

Interrogation ended prematurely due to Lamarck's subsequent violent escape.

Because I choose to.
Ettina Since: Apr, 2009
#197: Sep 6th 2010 at 7:25:34 PM

The former Dark Lord's kids will answer these questions. I'll make them more honest than they'd likely be, though.

1. How was your life at home?

Kale: Which home? If you mean with my birth parents, it was awful. My other homes have run the full range, though none were quite as bad as my original home.

Trevor: Mostly OK, though I don't feel close to my father - not after what happened with my mother.

Tom & Joe: Pretty good. Certainly better than school. Mom and Dad are a bit clueless, but we love when they talk about their research with us.

2. What's your main drive in life?

Trevor: To fulfill the voice's ambition. Our group must make ourselves important, and the elves are the key to that. So I will save the elves, though I don't really care what happens to them.

Kale: I'd like power, so that no one can ever take advantage of me again. And I'd like to do a good job at being the voice for that little girl, now that the voice is gone.

Tom & Joe: We want to find out as much as we can about magic. We focus on what can help our allies, but really, we just like learning.

Tom: And I want Joe to be safe.

Joe: And I want Tom to be safe.

Tom & Joe: So we'll protect each other, like we always do.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil?

Kale: Many people are fundamentally evil, I think. But I trust that good people are out there - I've found some of them myself. And an evil person can still make a good ally, but you can never trust them.

Trevor: Fundamentally stupid. Mothers who try to kill their own kids intending to protect them are a prime example. And it's so easy to fool people. Even when I was young and stupid, I could kill someone and no one would suspect.

Tom & Joe: Most people are bad. So what? They're still interesting, especially when we get one as a specimen to study.

4. How do you fight?

Tom & Joe: We all have the ability to absorb magic. When fighting a being made out of magic, such as a vampire, we can kill them with a touch.

Kale: I like to taunt them with their helplessness. I drain enough that they can't move, but are still conscious. Then I explain to them exactly who and what I am. And then I kill them. I hate it when I have to hurry the process - it's so much less fun.

Trevor: I've killed others, who aren't spirits. It's a lot harder, since our powers don't work on them. You need trickery instead. My mother knew I was possessed, but she didn't know I knew she knew, so I could trick her.

5. Why do you fight?

Tom & Joe: Well, the spirit beings inside us need to feed. Sure, stealing prized possessions or getting hit by magic spells could work, but killing vampires works much better. And they kill people, so we're doing the world a favour.

Kale: What the twins said.

Trevor: Also, anyone who threatens us must be neutralized. If that means killing them, fine. I don't believe in revenge, but I don't hesitate to do what is necessary, either.

6. What do you fight?

Trevor: Crumbly people. That's what I called them, up until recently. But yeah, they're vampires. May as well admit it. I'm possessed, and they are vampires.

Kale: I've dealt with the occasional werewolf, ghost, and various other things on occasion.

Tom & Joe: Really? Please, describe them to us. We loved that striga you two gave us awhile back - we're always looking for new creatures to study.

7. What is your worst fear?

Kale: To be powerless, subject to the whims of another.

Trevor: To be betrayed by someone I care about. That's why I try not to care about anyone.

Tom & Joe: Serious injury to each other. Oh, and being outsiders. Those two tend to go together - outsiders get the group against them, which is why we must do our best to blend in. Even though it's hard.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

Trevor: I don't care about possessions.

Kale: There's a teddy bear I stole at the hospital where I spent the night, when I was first taken into care. I've kept it ever since. When I look at it, I remember how I found freedom.

Tom: Dad gave us a microscope for our fifth birthday. I've used it so much, it's starting to break down, but I still love it.

Joe: I like the microscope, but I prefer our spellbook. We stole it from a witch when we visited the capital. Most of the spells are designed for regular humans, but we can adapt them and study them. I've writted so many notes in the margins of that book...

9. Who is your closest friend?

Tom: Joe.

Joe: Tom.

Trevor: I don't have friends. Well, now I have you guys, but before, it was just me and the voice.

Kale: Right now, my closest friend would probably be Susanna. She's also possessed, but with a different kind of spirit than us. And she's a great ally.

10. What is your outlook on love?

Tom & Joe: *giggles* That's icky stuff. We're too young for that.

Trevor: It's dangerous. You shouldn't get yourself involved, in case you need to kill them sometime.

Kale: I agree that it's dangerous. My mother loved my father, and what did she get? Bruises and terror. And even after she left him, anytime she fell in love, the guy was bound to be a jerk. Knowing me, though, if I ever fell in love, I'd do the hitting. I need control too much to make a good lover.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

Trevor: Watching murder mysteries.

Kale: Spending time with a friend. Or anyone, really, as long as they're not a danger to me.

Tom & Joe: Researching things!

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Trevor: Something boring and neutral.

Kale: A smile. People underestimate a smiling girl. And if you smile while threatening someone, it scares them even more.

Tom: A scowl. That's the persona I use to blend in and avoid getting the group's wrath - a troublemaker. Kids seem to like troublemakers, for some reason.

Joe: An attentive look. I'm the smart one, who hangs out with the straight-A kids. And I'm the one adults like, too. It's probably easier for me to fit my act than Tom, though I do have to fake interest in boring school stuff.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest.

Kale: I never, ever want to fall in love. Period.

Trevor: Someone useful to me, who I don't like too much.

Tom & Joe: We haven't thought about it much. I mean, we're only 9, and based on our family history, we should show the first signs of puberty at about 12-13. That's still far in the future.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

Kale: Plenty of times. The worst was when my father stuck his thing in my mouth. I thought I was going to suffocate.

Trevor: When my mother was planning an exorcism, and I knew she wouldn't believe me if I told her it would kill me.

Tom & Joe: Walking down the street and seeing a group of bullies up ahead waiting for us - that happened too many times to count.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

Trevor: Up until recently, no. It sounds weird, since I knew I could read the crumbly people's minds and turn them to dust, and I heard a voice in my head, but somehow it never occurred to me that any of that was supernatural. I didn't want to try to explain it, so I didn't.

Kale: Believe in it? I live it! And I'm sure glad of that - the voice's teachings saved me so many times.

Tom & Joe: We believe in what has been proven, and we've proven all sorts of occult things exist - including ourselves. We can read each others' minds, that was a dead giveaway.

16. What's your alignment and why?

Trevor: I don't care about good or evil. Just power, and my own safety. (Note: probably Lawful Neutral, with being a Chessmaster as his 'law'.)

Kale: Well, those are important, but I do think if you can help someone out without endangering your own position, you should. I'd like to be a good ruler. (Note: Neutral Good, maybe, though fairly light on the 'good'.)

Tom & Joe: Who cares about right or wrong? There's research to be done! (Note: Chaotic Neutral, or True Neutral.)

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

Tom & Joe: Everyone is just a scientist, not interested in politics or anything. We all study and share our discoveries, and the two of us are among the most highly respected scientists.

Kale: One I rule. And child abusers will be tortured, forced to endure as many years of torment as their child did. And then they will be killed.

Trevor: I don't really know. Probably one where the elves prosper under the voice's rule, like they used to so long ago. But that will never happen.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person?

Trevor: None. I want to be unnoticed as I pull the strings behind the scenes.

Tom & Joe: We'd like everyone to be impressed by our research.

Kale: I want to be worshipped as a goddess.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

Trevor: I like the high-speed train, it's quite useful. And cheap.

Kale: That's good. Or hitchhiking - it's harder to track, although it's slower and more risky. I carried a knife on me while hitchhiking, and threatened to cut anyone who tried anything. But since Trevor showed me his vampire Mind Control trick, I think I'll just take a bodyguard along - someone fairly unthreatening in appearance, such as another teenage girl.

Tom & Joe: We haven't traveled much.

20. What is your favorite vice?

Trevor: Vices are pointless. Do what you need to do, don't waste time enjoying yourself.

Kale: I'd say it's playing with my food. A couple times things got a little tense because someone heard my victim wimpering. I dealt with it, though.

Tom & Joe: We don't tend to enjoy something unless we're learning from it.

21. What do you do to relax?

Trevor: Relax?

Kale: I hang out with my friends and chat. Or else I go and hunt a vampire - that always helps when I'm feeling angry.

Tom & Joe: We study things.

Tom: I like to stare into the microscope. I'm currently working on a spell to put on the lenses so the microscope can detect magic and amplify it.

Joe: I read something - either my favorite spellbook, or something interesting from the library.

22. What is your favorite color?

Trevor: Who cares?

Kale: Black - it's good for playing the Wannabee Vampire role. And for hiding after dark.

Tom: Ultraviolet. It's such a fascinating range, just out of human perception. I've studied what ultraviolet does to vampire skin, and the process of healing from the resulting burns.

Joe: Did you know that vampires can see body heat? That's how they see through elven illusions - that and smell. Their sense of smell isn't quite as good as a dog, but it's pretty close.

23. Who is your worst enemy?

Trevor: Zoldrak. He and Nick killed the voice. And Zoldrak, as a moonlighter, is not susceptible to my power. I tried to kill him once, but I failed, and he too Nick away as well.

Kale: My father. Sooner or later, I will track him down again and have my revenge. But that can wait for now.

Tom & Joe: We'd really like to get our hands on that moonlighter - we've never studied a moonlighter. Trevor, please try to takw him alive.

24. Who do you most admire?

All of them: The voice.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

Trevor: That the voice be restored.

Kale: That I rule the world.

Tom & Joe: That we have live samples of every kind of supernatural being, all secured in a very well-stocked laboratory.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Trevor: Take it, it could be useful.

Kale: Yeah, take it. And live off of it, because I'm on my own now.

Tom & Joe: Take it to buy supplies for our laboratory.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Trevor: Sometimes risk is necessary to gain power and defeat your enemies. The voice taught me that.

Kale: I would risk my life for power, though I chose the least risky way of getting power when I can.

Tom & Joe: No! Not even an interesting new specimen - how can we study it if we're dead? But we'd risk ourselves to save each other.

28. What's your worst memory?

Trevor: Killing my mother.

Kale: My father raping me.

Tom: When one of the bullies broke my arm.

Joe: When one of the bullies broke Tom's arm.

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

Kale: I'm currently a runaway, so very poor. Not that I'm complaining - I'm a good enough thief to get by, and my friends help me if I need anything. Besides, I'm currently looking for a vampire to move in with.

Trevor: We're doing OK, though on a single income, we don't get a lot of extras.

Tom & Joe: Our parents are both research scientists, and doing quite well. We're not super-rich, but we have enough to get some cool toys.

30. Who raised you?

Kale: The voice. In all my foster homes, he was the only consistent caregiver I had.

Trevor: The voice. He was the only one I could depend on, after my mother turned on me.

Tom & Joe: The voice and our parents did about equally. Our parents gave us our fascination for science, the voice gave us this hidden world to explore.

Well, these aren't all of the main characters, but I'll bring up the original group of friends. Some of them I'll have to resurrect, and some I'll have to make more honest than usual.

Here's Ed Harrison, Jessi Hillshire, Malcolm "Mal" Hillshire, Ralph Schmidt and Stephen Schultz.

1. How was your life at home?

  • Ed: Pretty good. Not much to complain about here.
  • Jessi: You mean with my uncle? He was horrible. Really messed up my life up until I met Ed.
  • Mal: Same as Jessi. I really had to protect her; our uncle was an asshole.
  • Ralph: Uh, well, my dad was kinda... loose. We moved around a lot, and he had a lot of girlfriends. We didn't have much money, though. I'm better now that I live with my grandparents.
  • Steve: My life at home was great! But I didn't have many friends, 'cause I went to a private school. People there just sucked, y'know?

2. What's your main drive in life?

  • Ed: Honestly? I just want to be a teacher or something. I really don't understand business, no matter what my parents want. Also, I definitely want to someday get married to Jessi.
  • Jessi: I want to be a grandmaster, or be an expert knife thrower! Or be able to shoot at a target 100 yards away while blindfolded! I want to be better than an army sniper!
  • Mal: Be an awesome rock musician, what else? Oh, and also bring about the worker's revolution, but that's on the backburner right now.
  • Ralph: Well... I dunno.
  • Steve: Hm... Long term, I'd say I really want to be a pilot, especially a fighter pilot. Short term? I really want to go out with Jessi. She's friggin' hot!
  • Ed: I heard that, Steve!

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or evil?

  • Ed: Evil. People are corrupt by nature, and we need the structure of society to keep them safe. I want to protect the innocence of my friends.
  • Jessi: Ever read Lord Of The Flies? I think a lot like that, a lot like Ed. But I think there are some genuinely nice people out there, of course!
  • Mal: People are good! It's just society that corrupts them and makes them turn bad. Everyone has a little good in them. Ed is completely wrong.
  • Ed: Don't make me do a speech...
  • Everyone: Abject Terror
  • Ralph: I... don't really, uh, think about that kinda stuff. I go with whatever Ed thinks most of the time.
  • Steve: I'd say people are a little of both. There are some people that are inherently good, like, uh, Jessi, for example, but a lot aren't. I'm definitely no idealist or anything.

4. How do you fight?

  • Ed: With the best tech I can find. I currently use an M14 EBR with several attachments on the rails.
  • Jessi: -drags out stash- Which one? I usually use my Winchester 1897, but I also have an 1894 Krag-Jorgensen, a Bowie knife, an MG-3 light machine gun, a Colt 1911 pistol...
  • Mal: Swords. Lots of swords. They're ruttin shiny!
  • Ralph: Well, I used to never be good with weapons, so I used a shovel and stuff. But now, I use explosives, guns, everything, I guess.
  • Steve: Best case scenario? A fighter plane. Other than that? Guns, like most people. I could name them, but that'd take too long, y'know?

5. Why do you fight?

  • Everyone: Because we have to survive!
  • Ed: Well, to clarify, I fight so that I can protect my friends. I always nominate myself to be the one to do that harsh killings. I forget how many I've killed, now. But I can't let the others know that I'm doing this on purpose and to protect them. It's better if they think I'm doing it because I'm an evil bastard or something.

6. What do you fight?

  • Everyone: Zombies, humans. Sometimes feral animals.

7. What is your worst fear?

  • Ed: For my friends to all die or become like I am.
  • Jessi: To be alone. I... I just can't handle it if Ed or Mal, if neither of them are with me. I think it's actually a kind of autophobia, or something like that.
  • Mal: To die and have no one remember me.
  • Ralph: Er... um... I don't really know. I really don't like hopeless situations, though.
  • Steve: To never go out with Jessi! Ha, no. I don't ever want to be badly wounded, like have my legs chopped off or something, and be useless. It really makes me mad to think about it.

8: What is your most treasured material possession?

  • Ed: I have this watch I keep with me all the time. Knowing the time helps keep me just a little close to civilization.
  • Jessi: My shotgun. It's a family heirloom and everything!
  • Mal: My guitar. Annette.
  • Ralph: My cookbook, I guess?
  • Steve: My pilot's license. Means so much to me! Well, actually, I really treasure this pen Jessi made for me. It's intricate, and wooden. To me, it shows how she has the rough skill of woodworking, but adds amazing, tiny details. It really reminds me of her.

9. Who is your closest friend?

  • Ed: Jessi.
  • Jessi: Ed.
  • Mal: Ed.
  • Ralph: Steve. Or maybe Mal.
  • Steve: Ralph, he's a fun dude.

10. What is your outlook on love?

  • Ed: Well, naturally I'm love with the beautiful girl beside me! Love is great.
  • Jessi: -hugs Ed tightly-
  • Mal: All you need is love.
  • Ralph: Well, I guess it could be nice. I've never felt that way before.
  • Steve: Y'know, I just might be in love with Jessi. Or maybe it's lust...

11. What is your favourite pastime?

  • Ed: Reading and reciting Shakespeare. Reading in general, really.
  • Jessi: Shooting things! Full stop, there's not much I like less than the feel of jerking back on the slide, pumping back and forth, and the rush when it discharges...
  • -phone rings-
  • Ed: Hello? Ah, yeah, alright, great. Thanks, it's nice to talk to you again. Yeah, see you.
  • Jessi: Huh? Who's that? Anyone important?
  • Ed: It was Freud calling. He wants his intense sexual imagery back.
  • Mal: Ooookay, getting that out of the way... my favourite pastime is to watch TV and play guitar.
  • Ralph: Cooking. I love trying new recipes and making up my own stuff! Food is awesome!
  • Steve: Huh? Oh, ah, sorry, just... distracted by Jessi's talk about guns. Really arousing, y'know? Well, I love flying, just soaring through the air. I'm so glad I have a pilot's license.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

  • Ed: A smile. No, I'm serious.
  • Jessi: The happiest smile ever!
  • Mal: The kind of expression you get when you figure something out, and your mind is completely blown.
  • Ralph: Something awesome, I guess?
  • Steve: An orgasm face. Trust me, it'd be hilarious. Or maybe Awesome Face. One of those, or what Mal said. Can't I have multiple!?

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or lack of interest.

  • Ed: Well, of cou-
  • Jessi: -hugs Ed tightly again-
  • Mal: Tall dark and absolutely gorgeous. I set my standards real high.
  • Ralph: I don't really think about that. I guess a nice girl who can cook, then?
  • Steve: Jessi, definitely. Seriously, she is ridiculously hot. Why does Ed get her and not me?

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep trouble?

  • Ed: I don't like talking about it, but there was one time that I -stupidly- decided to help some guys with a bomb prank on the school. It took a staggering amount of luck to avoid getting caught. Hmph. At least I got to apply my chemistry knowledge.
  • Jessi: Before the whole zombie thing, right? Well, I once got caught hunting with a pistol. Luckily it was by my dad, but boy was he pissed. That was when I was twelve or something, but I loved guns even then!
  • Mal: Oh, shit, there was this once time me and my friends got way too drunk at university, and we tried to stage some kinda weird-ass coup against the state to set up a socialist republic. You shoulda been there.
  • Ralph: I, uh, once used too much chili pepper. I won't say more. It. Was not. Pretty.
  • Steve: Ed and Jessi should remember this one. Let's just say I got a little too friendly with Jessi. Can't say I wasn't just taking advantage of her, though. There was a whole lot of lust involved on my part.

15. Do you believe in the occult?

  • Everyone: Do zombies count?
  • Mal: Well, actually, these zombies are from a virus, no magic involved. I believe in the occult, though. I think it's fun and cool.
  • Steve: I think that's believable as well. The occult is pretty interesting. Imagine if I got my hands on a UFO!

16. What is your alignment?

  • Ed: I'm in a grey area. Maybe Chaotic Good if you stretch it. I don't think any of us actually fit into alignments, actually. We're people, not characters in some book.
  • Ralph: Uh, if you're wondering, yeah, we have all played D&D. Steve or Mal are usually the DM.

18. What impression do you want to give as a person?

  • Ed: I want people to see me as a smart, independent person. In the apocalypse, I want people to see me as ruthless and calculating, with no remorse whatsoever.
  • Jessi: I want people to like me, and be my friends. Can't people accept me for who I am, without me having to change?
  • Mal: I want people to notice my talent and admire me. I want to have fans and people who really, honestly respect me.
  • Ralph: I want people to think of me as, uh, a good cook, and a... hospitable person. I'm a really nice guy, honest!
  • Steve: I want everyone to see my ambition and cheer me on. I also want people to view me as well-adjusted, and not the horny guy I kind of really am. Though I think I really do love Jessi!

20. What is your favourite vice?

  • Ed: Wrath. I don't want my actions to have consequences when I get really angered.
  • Jessi: ...Envy. I had a terrible childhood! My life is not great! I wish so much that my life was and had been better. All I've got are my friends, no one else!
  • Mal: Pride. I like to be boastful about what I can do, yeah.
  • Ralph: Greed. Er... ummm... yeah, I don't wanna say it, but greed is my vice or sin or whatever. I want money. I'm not a chef just because I like cooking! There's lotsa cash to be made!
  • Steve: Lust. Oooh yes, lust. I could go into a lot of detail about what I want to do to Jessi.

28. What's your worst memory?

  • Ed: Possibly when I made the bombs for those guys. Or maybe when Steve... "made his move" on Jessi.
  • Jessi. What Steve did was not bad. I-I was fine with it, at the time at least, Ed. I don't want to regret anything! I don't want to be sad. He-he's still a good guy, Ed. Please, believe me on this. I love you, and no one else, but what happened then was... I don't know. My worst memory was of my childhood, up until I was about 13 or so.
  • Mal: My childhood, though I didn't have it as bad as Jessi. Wait, no. When Maria died. That's... something I won't forget. This apocalypse has to end someday, I'll make sure of it.
  • Ralph: Remember when I mentioned those chili peppers? Yeah, that. Again. It was terrible.
  • Steve: Ho, I'd say it was when I got caught fooling around with Jessi. Hey, she was willing! I was just consoling her over the loss of her dad. She was sad, and needed, uh, comfort.

-FIN-

Well, I couldn't type out all the questions and answers, so I did most. Though there are a few character... things that might need to be worked out. I'll make a thread on it or something. I might type out more of the characters' answers later.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.

Nick The Swing: Connor, we have some questions we'd like answered about you, my wonderful little Bishōnen.

Connor Tsuyoishi: stop calling me that, its annoying. And will people stop saying I'm an expo of some messed up kid on a show called Angel? Sheesh!

1. How was your life at home?

Never had one. Dad failed, epically, at protecting me, and I fell into a hell dimension with my real dad, who taught me all the important things in life.

2. What's your main drive in life?

Kill Kyle Tsuyoishi. After that, well, kill anyone else dad says is evil.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil?

Humans in the void were an ok bunch. Out here, people suck. I hate em all. Except dad, or Miss Yasmina.

4. How do you fight?

I destroy my enemies, I rip I tear I eviscerate until they are dead, and then I make sure they're dead. Otherwise, well, I really like my throwing knives. I am better with those than those little boom thingies people seem to like out here...bunch of wusses.

5. Why do you fight?

I get angry, a lot. I pulverize people to let that out.

6. What do you fight?

Kyle, and all his little collaborators.

7. What is your worst fear?

Losing my dad.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

A picture I drew of my dad.

9. Who is your closest friend?

Never had many friends who don't try to stab me in the back.

10. What is your outlook on love?

Oh, um...ehm...uh... -blushes very fiercely-

11. What is your favorite pastime?

I like tinkering with machines.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

uhh...that is a weird question, but...I'd pick my smile. Some people say I have a creepy smile, though.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest?

She has to have those big female thingies on the chest, and has to have pretty hair, and has to be pretty...and intelligent too. Like Miss Yasmina...

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

Many times, many many times, I just killed my way out of it those times though.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

The guy who put me into all this, Daj-Han, is a fucking Demon of Geass, of course I believe in the occult.

16. What's your alignment and why?

Chaotic Neutral. I just want Kyle dead, don't honestly care about the psychos trying to end government all over the world. Screw em all.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

No Kyle, and if everybody just...just left each other alone.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral?

I want people to remember me as Connor Helmsby, not as the son of that bastard. I...well, due to the weirdo magic, I am stuck as I am now for pretty much forever.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

uh...I just grabbed a monster that flies when I was in need of long range transport. Otherwise, those boats look cool.

20. What is your favorite vice?

Wrath.

21. What do you do to relax?

I...cannot relax...I always need to move.

22. What is your favorite color?

Don't care. Next question.

23. Who is your worst enemy?

Kyle Tsuyoishi. You should know this already!!

24. Who do you most admire?

My dad.

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

Make things go my family's way...at least a little...without people messing everything up.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Find the owner and return it. Dad says stealing is bad.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Vengeance.

28. What's your worst memory?

Alright, I will say only this: I did what I had to do.

(Note: Connor was raised in a dimension full of the souls of evil people turned to monsters.A monster took the form of his girlfriend. Not a good memory for him, especially when "she" tried to tentacle rape him.)

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

I dunno how, but dad has a lot of assets in the outside world for a guy confined to hell for sixteen years.

30. Who raised you?

Mr Helmsby. He's my father.

Nick The Swing: on that last one...right Connor, right...well, before this hormonal bundle of joy rips me limb from limb, that was QA with Nick The Swi...ARGH! Knife in the neck!

Star_Kindler from Here, of course Since: Mar, 2010
#200: Nov 4th 2010 at 11:07:05 PM

This is Ben. He's just a senior at high school, and he's... well, he's not much yet.

1. How was your life at home?

It was... okay, really. Things kinda suck since my sister Natalie went off to college and then my brother Danny went all gangsta on us, but my parents aren't sucky and I don't hate anyone at home, so...

2. What's your main drive in life?

I don'— I guess now it's to help Organization C keep things contained. And graduating. And maybe living through the day.

3. Do you believe human nature is fundamentally good or fundamentally evil?

Neither. We're neutral.

4. How do you fight?

I'm being trained how to use a gun lately. But I also know how to use a sword a bit. It really depends on what's convenient.

5. Why do you fight?

Because stuff's always trying to kill me! Why else would I fight?

6. What do you fight?

Whatever is trying to kill me at the moment. I'm not really all that confrontational.

7. What is your worst fear?

That Organization C will fail. I've already seen what happens when we don't act fast enough. Outright failure means that everyone will die... Or worse.

8. What is your most treasured material possession?

The book of poems Mandy gave me.

9. Who is your closest friend?

Car—- Ric—- No. I guess I haven't hung out with them in too long. Which means that, as much as I hate to say it, my closest friend has to be Kris. Which sucks 'cuz I can barely stand her.

10. What is your outlook on love?

It rocks if you have it, but it's fucking hard to make it work out and even if it does, it can fall apart pretty damn quickly. Sucky, I know.

11. What is your favorite pastime?

Playing games with my friends. I haven't done that in far too long, and that's not gonna happen anytime soon either.

12. If you could have only one facial expression for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Neutral? I don't want to be sending mixed signals by looking happy when I'm miserable or something.

13. Describe your ideal love interest, or explain your lack of interest?

She'd be good-looking obviously. Then, of course, she'd have to be interested in just hanging out a lot. By ourselves, with friends, you know. We wouldn't have to do anything to know we could have a good time. Not that I'd mind doing things... you know.

14. Have you ever thought you were neck-deep in trouble?

I was kind of emotionally numb about the whole "Attacked by paranormal creature, drafted into organization dedicated to controlling them, forced to make tough choices to save humanity" thing for a few days, but... Once it sank in, it's pretty obvious I've been neck-deep in trouble since the beginning of September.

15. Do you believe in all that occult mumbo-jumbo?

Uh... It's not mumbo-jumbo. Trust me man. It's not at all.

16. What's your alignment and why?

Straight?

16a. No, [lengthy explanation of D&D].

Oh. Lawful Good, then. Maybe Lawful Neutral.

17. Describe your idea of a perfect world.

Like it was before I found out about Organization C, but... happier.

18. What sort of impression do you want to leave as a person? What would you like for people to say about you at your funeral?

I'd like them to remember me as fun. I dunno what they should say at my funeral though.

19. What is you preferred type of long-range transportation?

Cars are generally the best way to get around, but I'm trying to build up the stomach for teleportation.

20. What is your favorite vice?

Video games. Just playing them for hours and hours is the best thing ever.

21. What do you do to relax?

I don't really relax anymore. Well, I talk to Kris now, but I don't like her enough for that to be really relaxing. And I worry about accidentally letting something slip.

22. What is your favorite color?

Dark blue.

23. Who is your worst enemy?

...Do I have to?

23a. Yes.

My worst enemy is Carl, now, because he wants revenge for... It doesn't matter. All that matters is that I have to worry about him, which sucks.

24. Who do you most admire?

Sam... She's

25. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

That life would just go back to normal.

26. If someone dropped a large sum of money and no one was looking, what would you do?

Chase after them to give it back.

27. Is there anything you would risk your life to get?

Really, I risk my life so often I'd probably risk it to get some ice cream nowadays.

28. What's your worst memory?

The first time Carl tried to kill me.

29. Are you financially rich or poor?

My parents make enough. I'm pretty poor personally.

30. Who raised you?

My parents.

31. Do you have any unique talents? Do you consider them a blessing or a curse?

Not really.

32. What's the minimum you need for a happy life?

Friends.

33. How do you deal with failure?

By running the hell away before I get the shit beaten out of me.

34. Guest Question: What do you think of Conny?

He seems a little violent, but it's understandable... And to be honest, I can't help but feel that the Organization would go after him and try to learn more about this Hell Dimnsion... Which means I have to hate him and want him contained, whether I like it or not.

([down] Conny seems pretty cool. I like the character concept and I'd definitely read the story... Or look at it. Or watch it. You know, whichever media it's- Oh god Conn is stabbing m-)
