Roleplay / Welcome to My World

Go To

Due to the nature of this work, all spoilers for it are unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

Welcome to My World (formerly Sonic Singers/Rappers Universe) is a Sonic the Hedgehog Journal Roleplay on the Scratch website hosted by user Jackal-Squad, taking place in an Alternate Universe where every Sonic character (including the ones from the comics and cartoons) exists in (presumably) the real world and is an adopted child of a musician. Yes, you read that correctly. It is inspired by the Sonic Fanvids Jackal-Squad would watch.

The roleplay works by asking questions in the comments of one of the "Ask (character)" projects, in which Jackal-Squad takes in the role of the pertaining character and answers the questions. It doesn't stop there. The answers not only reveal the characters' live in the Worldnote , but also reveal what is going on in the World, depicted by inclusions of other characters' responses and actions, allowing the users to experience and take part in the World. Jackal-Squad also uploads projects containing bonus information and art about the World.

Besides occasional pokes at the Sonic characters, their musician parents, and the music industry as whole, there are also regular Summoning Rituals, constant vampire attacks, the eventual fact everyone is living on a Band Land supercontinent with a big forest in the middle, the seemingly-Canon '06 Universe attacking the World, your favorite Sonic characters becoming vampires as result of said occurring vampire invasion, your favorite musicians also becoming vampire Mobians, an evil T-Series, a pair of T-Series-loyal (acutally forced to) wolves transforming Mobians into wolves, and many more confusing and bizarre twists

Jackal-Squad has also set up another roleplay, Pokemon Let's Go, Sonic!, which takes place in another Alternate Universe where every Sonic character owns a Pokémon, and is separate from this roleplay. She also runs several YouTube channels which also feature the characters from the World, but in a separate continuity.

Records of some roleplaying scenarios can be found in the Recap page.

'06 Universe inhabitants

The '06 Universe is an Alternate Universe where the Sega Canon presumably takes place in. However, behind the heroic facade the games provide, the allegedly canon Alternate Selves prove to be more sinister than you think. In fact, they're the main antagonists of the World.

  • All of the inhabitants - Pretty much any character that has appeared in the games
  • Mephalina the Dark - Mephiles the Dark's Distaff Counterpart and sister, Original Character by MephistaTheDark under the name Mephilia
  • Crystal the Dark - Original Character by Jackal-Squad, Silver's "Mephiles" counterpart, Midnight's husband and Mephiles and his siblings' father
    • Midnight the Dark - Original Character, Trisha's "Mephiles" counterpart, Crystal's wife and mother of Mephiles and his siblings
    • Matthew the Dark - Original Character, Jericho's "Mephiles" counterpart, Crystal and Midnight's son

Welcome To My World contains examples of:

  • Achilles' Heel: Besides normal vampire weaknesses, vampires have their own invidual weaknesses that if met with, must either fight or die off. A common weakness would be losing loved ones.
    • Weaksauce Weakness: The weaknesses some vampires have are just plain silly. For example, Sonic is weak against the presence of Kanye West, and Infinite and his Jackal Squad are weak against being called "weak".
  • Actual Pacifist: Silver Timberlake is the only one who never fights, because he makes an easy target for others, making him the most vulnerable.
  • Adaptational Heroism:
    • While Infinite in the canon is a merciless monster who has no problem with murdering innocents, Infinite in the World is rather harmless and friendly. He even saved his future girlfriend, Tangle, during the Shadows' ambush. (His age is around Tangle's to make their relationship suitable.)
    • Mephiles after Taking a Level in Kindness. He's now friendly to most people, especially to Silver whom he saved during the Shadows' ambush.
    • While Mimic in the IDW comics is an Ax-Crazy psychopath who desperately wants Whisper and her friends dead, he in the World, despite looking like Sonic.exe, is very benevolent and genuinely loves Whisper really much (like Infinite, his age is lowered to be around Whisper's). Instead of slaughtering them, he only chased away the Diamond Cutters. His knife is only there for self-defense.
    • Even Mephiles the Dark in the '06 universe has received this. Since his enemies have turned aggressive to the World, Mephiles has used his opportunity as the villain of the '06 universe to defend the World from '06 attacks. (About the other villains, they're on the "heroes"' side.) However, Mephiles is also an Adaptational Wimp, turning from a menacing godlike monster to a powerless and emotional soul who is quick to lay his guilt on anything.
    • Really, anyone in the World who is a villain in the canon. They've learned to get along with others and remain kindly. Special mentions go to Scourge and Fiona.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Big is stated to be smarter than his canon counterpart.
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • Maria is nastier than her canon counterpart, with her personality roughly same as Shadow's current one. She would be happy about abandoning an unwanted baby to the murderous '06 universe.
    • The Archie characters are also meaner, willing to get their revenge on the IDW characters and bite their necks.
  • Adaptational Villainy:
  • Adaptation Personality Change:
    • While Mephiles the Dark in the canon is an irredeemable monster, Mephiles West was more of a Jerkass and Anti-Villain type, initially, before Taking a Level in Kindness.
West is easily ticked off because of Bi-Polar disorder (reminds you of someone, right?), where Dark is just plain evil.
    • As well as being smarter, Big is stated to be "more likable" than his canon counterpart.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Downplayed example. Mephiles in the canon is a demon taking form of a hedgehog. Mephiles in the World is a regular hedgehog with No Mouth (at first).
    • Additionally, "the Dark" has been appropriated to refer to anyone who was born into an evil family rather than a demon, which means Mephiles the Dark is just a hedgehog with supernatural powers and Reveron the Wolf is a Dark.
  • Age Lift: Many characters are aged to be 14 or older, which is 18 or older in Mobian years, so that they can marry and have children. Whisper and Mimic are both 14 to make the pairing of them more suitable here. Infinite is only 12 (15 in Mobian years), with Tangle being 13 (16-7 in Mobian years), for similar reasons.
  • All Just a Dream:
    • The incident in which Mephiles West summoned Mephiles the Dark and had him murder Silver was only a nightmare occurring within Mephiles.
    • In fact, most the time, Mephiles' summoning of the Dark is revealed to just be a nightmare.
    • PewDiePie suddenly comes to the World, much to Jericho's big delight... Then Jericho wakes up.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Marina was disliked by others because she was simply a Kanye West fangirl, whom everyone else feared after the Silver/Blaze incident.
After everyone else saw her, they all saw what her shirt said. In black ink, it wrote YEEZUS. They all knew what this meant and panicked in fear because they all knew how Kanye was with anyone who didn't like him.
  • Alternate Self: Everyone has their alternate selves in the '06 and Pokemon Let's Go! Sonic universes. Some can ever Summon their alternate selves.
Mephiles the Dark: (spotting Mephiles West) GUYS, I TOLD YOU THERE WAS ANOTHER ME!
  • Alternate Universe Fic:
  • Always Night: After most of the vampire invasion is complete, Sonic, with his Sun Manipulation powers, sets the sun and keeps the moon up 24/7, so vampires can walk freely without being burned.
  • An Aesop: "Don't go on land that doesn't belong to you unless you're invited", or else Jericho will trap you in his cage for eternity or maybe drain your blood.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: Part of Jericho's Evil Plan is to force Mephiles' wife and whom Jericho has a Villainous Crush on, Marina, to marry him. And he succeeds, though he doesn't do this right away and lets Marina fall for him first, Subverting this trope.
    • Shadow the Hedgehog planned to force Maria to marry him after killing off everyone else in the World. This was before he pairs with Blaze the Cat.
  • Animorphism:
    • Mephiles and Marina both have the ability to transform anyone into a Mobian hedgehog by touching them, as shown with the West family here. Most of the time, Kanye and Kim Kardashian West and their children appear as hedgehogs.
    • Shadow also has the ability, but only to those he has a strong relationship with, leading to the fandom-known Maria the Hedgehog.
    • Eventually, for some reason (probably vampirism), every human turns into a Mobian of the species of their related adopted Mobian (for example, Tyler Smyth is a jackal).
    • Marina has the ability to transform into several Mobian species, such as cat, wolf, tiger, jackal, or fox.
  • Anti-Villain:
    • Mephiles at first. He was an aggressive Jerkass with a Hair-Trigger Temper and tendecy to attack others, but he's not truly malevolent.
    • While hard to believe at times, Jericho is this also. He can also get very hostile and inflict mean acts onto innocents, but that's only if he's provoked. Otherwise, he's harmless.
  • Appeal to Tradition: The number one goal of Zarek is to raise his son like his parents rasied him, which means no modern technology. Even the movie theater is too modern.
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • Shadow and Mephiles, due to their conflicting parents.
    • Jericho and Eclipse, to reflect the PewDiePie and T-Series rivalry.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Marina was just a Fangirl of Kayne and Mephiles West, and now Mephiles' her husband.
Marina: I knew I would get married one day, but I never thought it would be to MY HEDGEHOG IDOL! I got into him from Kanye West music and had crushed on Mephiles ever since. I never thought I would be able to meet him or him love me back. It was a dream come true when he proposed to me.
    • Pretty much anyone adopted by a musician. They were fans of them, so they left their parents to be adopted by them.
  • Assimilation Plot: T-Series' Evil Plan is to hack into everyone's computer and subscribe them to T-Series and unsubscribe from PewDiePie, according to their Dragon, Eclipse.
  • Author Appeal:
    • Jackal-Squad is a Kanye West fan herself and her favorite character is Mephiles, which contributes to the big personality and roleplay time Mephiles West has.
    • She is also largely interested in vampires, which is why Jericho the Vampire Hedgehog is here, as well as everyone else becoming vampires.
    • Jackal-Squad is a big fan of Sonic fan artist Tri-Jean, the reason why so many of her characters are in the World, despite not having a musician parent.
    • Eclipse and Reveron's passion for Metallica upon T-Series' end and Marina becoming a Metallica fan is because of Jackal-Squad's extreme liking for the band.
  • Author Avatar: Marina is basically Jackal-Squad's counterpart in the World. Her Backstory even shows she was from another universe and was in love with Kanye West and Mephiles at a very young age. Jericho's Villainous Crush on Marina is based on Jackal-Squad's Precocious Crush on Jericho. She is also a Metallica fan based on Jackal-Squad's now fanship of the band.
  • Ax-Crazy:
    • Shadow, and formerly Mephiles, won't hesitate to Summon someone and order them to kill someone else, whose usually not supportive of their parents. Jericho, a bloodthirsty vampire, will also attack others unprovoked.
    • Not to mention Shadow's now favorite pastime is shooting laser beams at cats.
    • None of these examples match up with Shadow the Hedgehog, displaying disturbingly psychopathic tendacies such as kidnapping Amy and Silver and subjecting them to horribel conditions, electrocuting his dog for a weak reason, and firing killer guns at his enemies.
  • Badass Pacifist: The simple presence of Maria is enough to make the menacing Shadow the Hedgehog surrender.
  • Band Land: Inevitable for a premise focused on musicians, the whole World is obviously this. Each province of the supercontinent is themed after a music genre and their culture: Pop, Classical, Country, Children's, Electronic, Holiday, Gospel, World (all Trisha's side); Hip Hop, Novelty, R&B, Rock, Jazz, Blues, and Reggae (all Jericho's side). The provinces are further divided into counties based on specific music genres, such as a Trap Music county in the Hip Hop province.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Mephiles can be put off by anything, but anything that proves negative of Kanye West, including Taylor Swift and Blaze, is enough to get him to summon the Dark.
    • Any Non Setiqur (read: random, no-relation-to-World) questions for everyone in the World, to the point when a massive wave of them was sent, the comments were temporarily disabled and a rule was placed banning such questions. Except for Gadget. He loves asking Infinite those, so he'll happily redirect them to Infinite.
    • Cats for Shadow, just because he's allergic to them. He targeted Silver only because he dated a cat, regularly shoos cats off his property, and will disable his comments if cats are mentioned.
  • Beware of Vicious Dog: Shadow's pet Talking red-eyed husky, who happens to be Smile Dog. The only ones he's friendly to are Shadow and Maria.
  • Big Bad Ensemble:
    • Shadow the Hedgehog of the already evil '06 universe. Unlike Shadow and Jericho, who don't cause big damage and are just aggressive, Shadow the Hedgehog, and the '06 universe he's leading, really do pose a real threat and want to destroy the World for once and for all.
    • T-Series, who has forced their Eclipse and Reveron into being their Co-Dragons and possessing everyone into being heartless wolves.
  • Big Damn Heroes: During the omnicidal attack by Shadow Mathers and the Hedgehog, Mephiles goes off warning everyone of them. When Shadow ambushes on Silver and Floee, Mephiles Takes the Laser Beam and manages to summon everyone from the '06 universe.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: The Sega games have shown the '06 universe inhabitants as the friendly and happy video game heroes you've grown up with. However, off the screens, they're really murderous Green Eyed Monsters hellbent on invading the World and wiping out the inhabitants there.
PrincessPandaLover: I THOUGHT SONIC THE HEDGEHOG WAS A HERO WHO LOVED AND WANTED TO SAVE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!! >:(
Sonic the Hedgehog: Ever heard of this thing called "acting"
  • Blank White Void: Mobius, where every Mobian (and a Token Human, a Seedrian, and a Blacks Arm humanoid) came from. It's literally a blank space with nothing in it.
  • Brainwashed: If fully possessed by Reveron, that person will lose all of their previous love and become more hateful, which rules out The Power of Love that can normally reverse the transformation. He can also dictate them to a certain following, such as serving T-Series and their wolves.
  • Brainy Baby: Weeks-old vampire children will often be intelligent enough to use the potty on their own, play video games, host sleepovers, and talk fluently, thanks to their vampire abilities that allow them to age mentally much quicker.
    • The Dark family members are able to fully function like adults at 5 days old
  • Brought Down to Normal: Unusually Averted for this type of premise and setting. The characters still have their canon superpowers, but they're barely used.
    • Played straight for Silver, whose psychic powers were stolen by someone else when he was young. This is one of the reasons he's an Actual Pacifist.
  • Cock Fight: The female echidnas do a good ol' fight over Knuckles regularly, though he's already married to Rouge.
  • Co-Dragons:
    • Shadow the Hedgehog's major allies, such as Sonic, do count, as they follow his orders.
    • Eclipse and Reveron, who serve T-Series and have gotten to the World just to carry out their work.
  • Crack Fic: And it gets even weirder than the "Sonic characters living with real-life musicians" premise.
  • Crapsack World: The eponymous World is a Played for Laughs example. No laws, law enforcement, and the legal system exist, which means anyone can get away with any crime. Fighting is commonplace. Attempting to murder someone by Summoning someone else to do the job is a regular practice. Not to mention Jericho, who is free to ambush and transform innocents into vampires if he wishes. The World was described as "The Purge but more lighthearted".
    • Mobius, a Blank White Void where every Mobian came from, is a less comedic, yet not as dark, example. Everyone didn't have a home and could only wander around. There were no necessities, not even food, to be met. Love was very rare. The only entertainment people had were songs they made up from their minds. The only other pastime besides wandering around was fighting the villains, who eventually stopped attacking and made Mobius more boring.
  • Creepy Good: Mimic is a kind, cuddly hedgehog (actually octopus) whose face either looks like a skull or Sonic.exe.
  • Crossover Alternate Universe: Technically, Welcome to My World is a Crossover between Sonic the Hedgehog and Real Life musicians, so there. The Pokemon Let's Go, Sonic! universe also applies. This becomes more literal when it is Revealed the Sonic characters were originally from the Mobius universe and the musicians from another universe.
  • Crystal Ball: Floee owns one, which gives an accurate image of the future of whoever rubbed it. She regularly shares it with others to see their futures.
  • Death by Childbirth: Blaze's biological mother died when she was pregnant with Blaze's would-be brother.
  • Death Is Cheap: If one manages to have the resurrecting Chaos Emeralds (which is usual), characters, such as Maria and Silver, don't stay dead permanently. If one committed suicide, they are able to come back if their recently resurrected relative touches their grave. However, Subverted when it is revealed if a character dies the fourth time, they're dead for good.
  • Death Dealer: Saint West is able to defeat Eclipse by throwing a playing card at him.
  • Denser and Wackier: In the World, some Sonic characters are given ridiculous personalities, treat their parents and interests as Serious Business, get into crazy quarrels into each other, and even go Ax-Crazy, all which ascend into Refuge in Audacity levels. And then there's the World as a whole.
  • Deus ex Machina:
  • Disney Death:
    • The Jackal Squad were not actually killed off by Shadow. They were just sent off into the Null Space.
    • The first murder of Silver was All Just a Dream.
  • Divorce Is Temporary: At least for Jericho and Trisha. Since their large fallout over a petty incident, Trisha decided to give PewDiePie, whom she was afraid of for a long time because of his playthrough of Sonic.exe, a watch and ended up liking his videos. Jericho and Trisha then decide to give their then-strong relationship a second chance.
  • Dhampyr: Shadow the Hedgehog is part-vampire. Yeah...
  • Dogged Nice Guy: Jericho tries to act friendly to Marina, his forced bride, and proclaims he loves her more than her husband, Mephiles, will, and that he'll never hurt her. This doesn't work at first, because of Marina's deep fear of vampires, but she slowly falls for him. Subverted, as it turns out his love for Marina was genuine all along.
  • Don't Go in the Woods: Don't go in the giant forest, because Jericho will be waiting there, and if you're not part of the World, he will trap you and eventually kill you.
  • The Dreaded:
    • Mephiles and all Kanye West fans. After forcefully separating Silver and Blaze and threatening death if they get back together, people became fearful of them, even of his father's fans, including Marina, just because of Guilt by Association. Fortunately, this died down after a while.
    • Jet Brown. After the 2009 incident, everyone else, but his only friend Sonic and his love interest Wave, were scared of him, believing he would go Ax-Crazy and beat others to unconsciousness.
    • Jericho. He's a vampire prone to attacking anyone else, except for Marina and Blade. People will often warn of him, especially in the country occupying half of the forest where he lives. However since then, he has worn off this status and become friendlier.
  • Driven by Envy:
    • The main reason the '06 universe wants to invade the World and kill off its inhabitants is that they weren't getting much attention as the World's.
    • The Archie characters also show shades of envy after they were lost their popularity to the IDW characters, and plan to get their revenge by biting the IDW characters' necks (which are implied to have adverse effects).
  • Driven to Suicide: Mephiles the Dark, all drowned in very guilt and Heroic BSoD, so much that no one could relieve this, decides that no one loves him and he should go, grabs Mephiles West's sword, and stabs himself. Fortunately, he only stays dead temporarily.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Shadow the Hedgehog has a surprisingly warm heart for his sweetheart Blaze the Cat, having lovely affection for each other whenever they can. They together are an Unholy Matrimony who will fight as a pair on the battlefield.
  • Evil, Inc.: T-Series is portrayed as this.
  • Evil Is Petty: Many villains are also plain old Jerkasses. For example, as Shadow the Hedgehog's plan once he succeeds in Taking Over The World:
I can talk about how my video game is the BEST SONIC GAME in existence and will forever be until SEGA learns that there needs to he a sequel of that game.
  • Express Delivery: Pregnancy in Mobian hedgehogs last only a week. On top of that, childbirth lasts for 2 days.
  • Face–Heel Turn:
    • In a hilarious reversal of the canon example, all of the Diamond Cutters, except for Mimic, turned against Whisper and tried to attack her, not with Shadow Androids, but with an actual Shadow the Hedgehog!
    • Lilly and Mephalina end up falling for their villainous admirers Eclipse and Reveron that they decide to betray the Jackal Squad and Mephiles the Dark's family and join the T-Series army as transformed wolves.
  • Face of a Thug: Mimic in his Game Face Sonic form resembles Sonic.exe, so much that everyone was scared of him and ready to banish him out of the World. Whisper was the only one who was able to find Mimic as friendly first, and was able to convince everyone else but Trisha of his true nature.
  • Family-Unfriendly Death:
    • Maria was killed by Shadow's birth father. Let that sink in. No wonder Shadow ran away and became dark afterwards.
    • Jericho draining all the blood of (read: killing off) the Hobbledehoy Gang in the aftermath of this incident is just messed up.
  • Fandom Rivalry: In-Universe with Kanye West vs. Eminem in the Hip Hop province, to the point Mephiles and Shadow outright Rival and hate each other. Rappers and their Mobians often can't decide the King of Rap and bow down to either one.
  • Fangs Are Evil: Jericho flashes his sharp vampire fangs whenever feeling angry.
  • Fantastic Racism: Wolves are viewed by everyone else as shifty at best or savage at worst and thus discriminated against, just because only two are genuinely savage and one just likes to annoy his neighbor to death. Even the friendly ones like Gizmo and Whisper receive this treatment.
  • Fictional Earth: There's just one big supercontient with an absurdly giant forest in the middle. It's split into two countries, one with Jericho (and prone to vampire attacks) and other with Trisha (the safer one). Each country is divided into provinces based on music genres. The planet itself is slightly smaller than Earth.
  • Forced Transformation: Reveron is able to possess anyone, which transforms them into a wolf. Once the possession is complete, they're a wolf forever... until The Power of Love changes them back... unless they're fully possessed and completely devoid of love.
  • Fourth-Date Marriage: In the evening of the day of Mephiles and Marina both met, Mephiles proposed marriage to Marina and she accepted.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Sonic and Jet, based on their parents' relationship. They are mutual friends, but will go into a harmless shuffle once in a while.
  • Full-Name Basis: The characters address themselves by both their name and their parents' family name, and regularly address others by this as well.
  • Fur Is Skin: As despicted here, the fur of humans in Mobian forms matches their human skin color, with the exception of Maria, whose fur is yellow as her hair.
  • The Gadfly: Gadget loves asking his neighbor Infinite annoying questions a lot, which is the reason he's the only one who accepts such questions.
  • Game Changer: Maria, Shadow's Lost Lenore whose death led to his villainy, is ultimately resurrected, which softens Shadow's personality and leads to many things changing for better.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Reveron is Revealed to have been responsible for how the '06 Universe became the monstrous Bitches in Sheep's Clothings they are today, all thanks to his posessing powers.
  • Gun Nut: Shadow the Hedgehog keeps every gun he has used in his solo game and will fire upon the inhabitants of the World with them.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Mephiles can be provoked and angered by something at least playfully annoying, often hissing and shutting his laptop off. Justified as like Kanye West, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
    • Jericho. Trisha warns that people should be careful about what they say around Jericho, as a few seemingly-harmless words will enrage him to full vampire mode. She learned this the hard way.
  • Harmless Villain: Zig-Zagged with T-Series. Most of the time, they're only seeking to hack everyone's computer for a petty reason, but when the '06 universe comes attacking, they'll be happy to assist them.
  • Hates Wearing Dresses: Marina, a Tomboy, despises dresses, only wearing a white one if she's the bride at a wedding.
  • Heroic BSoD: After losing his only two siblings to the enslavement of wolves and being shamed by Shadow the Hedgehog to death for having betrayed his home universe for "a girl" (read: Avernita), Mephiles the Dark suffers a very large mental breakdown, isolating himself from everyone else, crying, and blaming himself for everything that happened. To the point he's Driven to Suicide, which triggers B So Ds in those who were trying to help him.
  • History with Celebrity: All of their adoptive parents are celebrities.
  • Humanlike Animal Aging: Subverted. Given Mobians are Funny Animals, Mobians develop the same as humans. However, while their ages are in normal years, they age in Mobian years and a normal year is about 1.28 Mobian years. This is to Hand Wave how Mephiles and Marina were able to marry and have a baby at the age of 14 (they were 18 in Mobian years at the time).
  • Hybrid Monster: Eclipse the Vampire Werewolf.
  • Irony: Chris Brown's (now former) son and Rihanna's daughter in a peaceful romantic relationship, considering how very wrecked the relationship between Brown and Rihanna is.
  • Just Friends: Jet and Wave. Jet once tried to ask Wave on a date, but she swiftly rejected. Considering the history of their parents' relationship, this is understandable. Later on, as Jet and Wave got together and decided to not let their parents' troubles affect them.
Wave: I would have dated Jet if his dad didn't do what he did to my mom. Jet's dad was mean to my mom.
  • Kick the Dog:
    • Shadow Mathers summoning Shadow the Hedgehog, then the pair turning super and attempting to eradicate anyone isn't an Eminem fan.
    • Jericho biting and turning Saint West into a vampire, his first victim who just wandered into the forest innocently.
    • Shadow the Hedgehog kidnapping Silver and Floee's German Shepard puppy and then electrocuting it. Yep, literally kicking the dog. Though Shadow reveals the puppy's his and he electrocuted it just to keep it from running away, it's still a cruel act.
    • Shadow Mathers and the Hedgehog attempting to murder an innocent person, and ending up killing Silver.
    • Reveron fully posessing Silver so that he no longer loves anyone but T-Series and their wolves, which hits very hard on everyone else, especially Floee.
  • Kid from the Future: Spike, Scourge and Fiona's future son, who is apparently responsible for the Depower of Silver and Mephiles the Dark.
  • Leitmotif: Each character has a theme song, each by their parent (all of them can be heard here):
    • Sonic: "God's Plan"
    • Tails: "I'm Just a Kid"
    • Knuckles: "I Hate Everything About You"
    • Blaze: "Wildest Dreams"note
    • Silver: "Can't Stop the Feeling"
    • Amy: "Baby"
    • Cream: Any Kidz Bop cover
    • Rouge: "Starships"
    • Shadow: "Venom"
    • Infinite and the Jackal Squad: "Infinite"
    • Mephiles: "I Am a God"
    • Marina: "Ultralight Beam"
    • Espio: "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark"

    • The '06 Universe: "His World" (once you hear it, you better start running)
  • Lightmare Fuel: Characters attempting to murder others by Summoning entities and commanding them to go after, and a not-so-friendly vampire are generally sources of nightmare fuel, but here in the World, because of how ridiculously they're played out, they end up as hilarious and into Refuge in Audacity. However, the '06 universe is rather different.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Sonic and friends tend to share personalities with their parents. Mephiles is the most blatant example, being egotistical and rude. This becomes more literal when their parents' Mobian forms resemble after their adopted children.
  • Lions and Tigers and Humans... Oh, My!: Initially, Mobians are seen co-existing with humans. This later is reverted when every human becomes a Mobian.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: His siblings to Mephiles the Dark. Losing them to the wolves is enough to drive him to suicide.
  • The Lost Lenore: Since Maria's death, Shadow had kept a cold and sinister demeanor since, and declared himself to never fall in love ever again. Fortunately, Maria was brought back to life via Chaos Emeralds and Shadow has shed this off.
  • Love Hurts: After starting a romantic relationship with Avernita, Mephiles the Dark becomes even more depressed, and breaks away from her just to be happier.
Mephiles the Dark: Ever since I met her, I've lost pretty much EVERYTHING ELSE. My siblings, my powers, my old friends, etc. It seems like that I'm happier without her than I was with her.
  • Love-Obstructing Parents: Since his divorce, Shadow's biological father didn't want his son to date anyone. When he caught Shadow hiding with his girlfriend, Maria, he murdered her.
  • Love Theme:
    • Sonic/Blaze: "If I Can't Have You" by Shawn Mendes
    • Mephiles/Marina: "Criminal" by Britney Spears
    • Silver/Floee: "Our Song" by Taylor Swift
    • Jericho/Marina: "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" by Elton John
    • Mimic/Whisper: "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran
    • Infinite/Tangle: "I Like Me Better" by Lauv
  • Love Triangle: Mephiles, Marina, and Jericho. Mephiles and Marina are already married, while Jericho has a Villainous Crush on her. Though they eventually try to solve the love triangle by having Marina marry Jericho also, Mephiles and Jericho still show serious disdain to each other.
  • Magical Accessory: Marina's pink hair bow allows her to have Mephiles' superpowers.
  • The Maker: Laraine the Vampire Hedgehog, who created the whole World and is Jericho's mother.
  • Mama Bear/Violently Protective Girlfriend: Blaze is very, very protective of her husband Sonic and her kids, even if they haven't been born yet. She chases away Fangirls regularly.
  • Married in the Future: Floee's Crystal Ball reveals that Silver and Floee's daughter, Moon, and Jericho and Marina's son, Blade, will be married in the future.
  • Mistaken for Gay: Infinite mistakes Gadget as gay, because Gadget keeps asking weird questions to him. Gadget really is heterosexual and just likes provoking Infinite. (In the World no one is homosexual.)
  • Monster Progenitor: Zarek and Laraine the Vampire Hedgehog were the first vampires, though their son, Jericho, was the one who turned the whole World population into vampires.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Jericho attempted this to his Love Triangle rival, Mephiles, twice. The first time, he had to retreat back to the forest at sunrise. The second time, he knocked Mephiles and his family unconscious and escaped with Marina. Afterwards, he focuses more on biting Mephiles rather than bringing him down.
  • Narrative Profanity Filter:
Mephiles: YOU'RE LUCKY THIS IS SCRATCH AND I CAN'T SAY WHAT I WANNA SAY!
  • New Technology Is Evil: Zarek, who grew up with dial-up Internet and Solitaire gaming, dislikes the Internet, particularly social media, because of how much toxic people are roaming it, and certainly disapproves of his son's obsession with YouTube and PewDiePie.
  • Nice Guy: Silver Timberlake is the nicest of the Sonic characters here. He'll do anything for his beloved, Floee, and is also an Actual Pacifist. Well, before he was possessed.
  • Nobody Poops: Sonic's answer to if anyone ever needs to go to the bathroom:
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: T-Serie's Co Dragon wolves, Eclipse and Reveron, first only seek to hack everyone's computers and subscribe their YouTube channels to T-Series, which is quite harmless. However, they pose more real threat when Reveron posesses everyone and transforms nearly everyone into wolves, even Brainwashing and enslaving one. Reveron becomes very much threatening when he reveals to be have been responsible for the '06 Universe's dire demeneor.
    • T-Series becomes this when they are revealed to have forced Eclipse and Reveron to commit such horrendous acts.
  • Official Couple: Sonic and Blaze (formerly Amy, Happily Married), Marina and Mephiles and Jericho (all Happily Married), Knuckles and Rouge (Happily Married), Tails and Cream, Floee and Vampire Silver (formerly Silver Timberlake, who divorced after being posessed), Shadow and Maria (Happily Married), Scourge and Fiona, Mimic and Whisper, Infinite and Tangle, Jet and Wave, Fang and Amy, Antoine and Sally
    • For the '06 side, Shadow the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: In relation to the Real Life 2009 incident of Chris Brown beating Rihanna. His adoptive son, Jet, had been feared by everyone else since then. Even Wave, his (formerly) unrequited love interest, refused to date him all because of that.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. There are two Eclipses. One's a former T-Series wolf, the other's a Darkling.
  • Open-Minded Parent: Contrasting to her husband's New Technology Is Evil views and how much he wants his son, Jericho, to follow his ideals, Laraine allows her son to follow his own decisions and she's even comfortable with joining him in his modern technology habits.
  • Original Character:
    • Marina by Jackal-Squad (and her Author Avatar), and Twilight and Blade also by Jackal-Squad. There's also Floee and her daughter Moon, belonging to another user.
    • Jericho, who doesn't belong to either Jackal-Squad or any roleplaying member, but rather to DeviantArt user Tri-Jean. Jackal-Squad just found and became interested in him, eventually deciding to add him to the World.
      • Trisha, Eclipse, Reveron, Zarek, Laraine, and Fay are also by Tri-Jean.
    • Mephalor and Mephalina, the siblings of Mephiles the Dark, which are by a YouTuber Jackal-Squad's a fan of.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Vampires in the World, with Jericho the Vampire Hedgehog and his son Blade being the only born ones, live on blood, are immortal, able to turn others into vampires via bitenote , can burn in sunlight, show no reflection in mirror, are weak against Wooden Stakes, garlic, and their invididual Achilles Heels, hold various supernatural powersnote , accumulate intelligence faster as they grow, and have sparkly skin.
    • Fortuantely, for those transformed via Viral Transformation, they can be reverted back to their normal forms if their transformer bites them again.
  • Parental Abandonment: Inverted. Everyone decided to leave their biological parents at their will and be adopted by their favorite musician, apparently because they were jealous of Mephiles doing so.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Mephiles' Big Damn Heroes moment, he goes alerting others of Shadow Mathers and the Hedgehog's omnicidal ambush. The best of all, he manages to Take the Laser Beam for Silver and Floee and summon everyone from the '06 universe, putting the end to the attack. Simply, he Takes a Level in Kindness.
    • Jericho's love for and devotion to Marina really shows he was not the vicious vampire he was.
  • Polyamory: Because there are no laws, this relationship type is allowed. Marina has two husbands, Mephiles and Jericho, as the solution to the love triangle. Jericho is also married to Trisha.
  • The Power of Love: A very strong bond of romantic or platonic love is able to reverse a wolf transformation. Even if both members are wolves, which would usually render this useless, having plenty of love inside is still enough to save.
  • Power Nullifier: Spike the Fox has the ability to erase powers of others. He has already done this to Silver.
  • Rage Quit: Those with higher temper will tend to shut off their laptops if they receive an annoying question. Jericho slashes his laptop, and then spawns a new one out of thin air. He has a closet filled with slashed laptops already.
  • Real Event, Fictional Cause: The T-Series wolves were responsible for robbing PewDiePie's house in December 2019.
  • Real-Person Fic: While the roleplay is centered about the Real Life musicians' lives, it focuses on the Sonic characters more than them and how their lives are influenced by their parents.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Some of the antics some of the characters go into are so ridiculous to be taken seriously. For example, Jet stealing everyone's Summoning Ritual instruction books, Shadow triggering a power outrage at Mephiles' wedding and breaking everyone's electronics just to get some wires, T-Series employing black-hat hackers to beat against PewDiePie, and simply the idea of summoning someone and commanding them as a murder method.
  • Resurrected Romance: Shadow was able to resurrect his long lost Maria with Chaos Emeralds, and boy, do things get better.
  • The Reveal:
  • Running Gag:
    • Mephiles summoning the Dark whenever he is ticked off.
    • Mephiles (or someone else) hissing/growling and shutting off his laptop (or if Shadow or Jericho, destroy them).
    • A wolf character howling and then all of the other wolves howling also.
    • A remote controller found to be chewed on, by Eclipse.
  • Satellite Love Interest: Marina was only introduced to be Mephiles' girlfriend (later wife), while Mephiles was offered a cat girl as a potential girlfriend.
  • Savage Wolves: Invoked by T-Series, who has forced Eclipse and Reveron to enslave others through Brainwash and become menacing as possible. Some, such as Tangle, view and discriminate against all wolves as savage.
  • Self-Deprecation: The World has plenty of lawless violence and even attempted murder. Silver the Hedgehog of the 06 universe's reason for disliking the World: "It's WAY too violent."
  • Serious Business: Some Mobians take their interests too seriously:
    • Kanye West for Mephiles, and the most blatant example. He prefers and will only associate with everything related to him over everything else. He only went with Marina because she was a Kanye West Fangirl. He'll also gladly exterminate anyone who's not a Kanye West fan with the Dark.
    • To a lesser extant, Eminem for Shadow.
Shadow: Where else? To destroy everyone that's not ourselves or PURE Eminem fans.
    • Jericho is an avid PewDiePie fan and broke up from Trisha just because she told him to stop watching PewDiePie.
    • Zarek and Mephalor take the game of Solitaire very seriously, having gaining expert experience from playing Solitaire on Windows XP and even betting on their duels. Mephalor does not take being defeated by Zarek very well.
  • Shock and Awe: Eclipse uses electric attacks, which is why he bites on electric wiring frequently (to charge up the attacks).
  • The Shut-In: Jericho, because of him being a burnable-by-sunlight Vampire, has lived most of his life locked up in his own house alone in the dark forest watching PewDiePie. Trisha is also this, because of how much she is used to the dark.
  • Small Reference Pools: Most of their parents are well-known musicians an average person can name. However, some, like Tails', Knuckles', and Infinite's, are rather obscure to the general public, consisting of musicians only popular within certain genres, One Hit Wonders, indie musicians with some online presence, and otherwise small-name musicians.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers:
    • Silver and Blaze. They fell in love at a young age and were together, until one day, Mephiles moved next to them, intervened with their relationship, and due to his hatred against Taylor Swift (Blaze's mother), viciously separated them. Under the threat of Mephiles summoning the Dark if Blaze and Silver were to get back together, they were forced to move on from their relationship.
    • Sonic and Amy has now suffered the same fate, because of Sonic's father's heated beef with Mephiles'.
  • Summoning Ritual: Mephiles and Sonic, the only ones capable of summoning at this point, can summon someone from the '06 universe by drawing a giant star, placing a candle on each point, placing hand in the middle, and chanting a rhyme. The rhymes currently known of can summon either Mephilesnote , Shadownote , Silvernote , or everyonenote . Everyone used to know how to summon, until Jet stole everyone but Mephiles and Sonic's ritual instruction books.
  • There Are No Police: There are no police and any sort of law enforcement in the universe, which means folks like Mephiles, Shadow, and Jericho can get away with their Ax Craziness.
  • This Is a Work of Fiction: Jackal-Squad regularly ends her comments with something like "(ROLEPLAY PURPOSES ONLY!)" whenever there's some violent action, reference to violence, or suggestive themes, just to make clear that they're all fiction and not let the strictly-minded Scratch Team take them out of context.
    • If an artwork of a character depicts them in a menancing way, usually with a deadly weapon, Jackal-Squad will add a statement that the character is benign in the World and won't harm the askers.
  • Toilet Seat Divorce: Jericho and his ex-girlfriend, Trisha, were in the strongest bond ever and would risk their lives for each other. They broke up because she told him to stop watching PewDiePienote . Though later Subverted, as it is Revealed they also broke up because she emailed the instructions on crossing into the World with (fortunately, accidentally) everyone in the other universes, much to the extremely severe dismay of Jericho, then Double Subverted as Jericho cares more about if Trisha likes PewDiePie or not. (Fortunately, Trisha and Jericho have decided to rekindle their relationship.)
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Marina and Trisha, Jericho's two Love Interests. Marina only wears masculine clothing, hates makeup, and enjoys playing video games. Trisha is more shy, adores makeup and dresses, and can be scared easily, especially of Sonic.exe.
  • Tyke Bomb: The reason Shadow the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat have gotten together and are planning to pair more couples within the '06 Universe is that they can produce new allies to help them defeat the World.
  • Utility Magic: Jericho is able to run plumbing, heating, electricity, and Internet connection in his house with his vampire powers.
  • Van Helsing Hate Crimes: The '06 Universe think all vampires (but their own Shadow the Hedgehog) are evil just because they're against them, and will seek to kill any of them. Jericho's parents, Zarek and Laraine, were killed by Shadow and Silver the Hedgehog because of this.
  • Villainous Crush:
    • Subverted with Jericho's on Marina. He's introduced as a hostile vampire who frightens Marina, but they eventually get along and Jericho isn't much of a villain anymore.
    • Eclipse the Werewolf has one on Lilly. He even goes outright to kidnapping her.
    • Inverted with Mephalina having a crush on Reveron. However, she admits she would only date him if he would be on her side. He later takes interest.
  • We Will Meet Again: Shadow the Hedgehog after his defeat in the first battle:
It seems you guys have gotten better at fighting since our last encounter. You may have won this time, but next time, you won't be so lucky.
  • Wham Episode: Shadow the Hedgehog kidnapping Silver and Amy into his home universe. The inhabitants of the seemingly-Canon '06 universe suddenly are revealed to not be so friendly after all.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
    • Mephiles the Dark is scared of demons. Interestingly, his canon counterpart is a demon.
    • Tangle the Lemur is scared of wolves, partly because of her boyfriend's attitude to them. This was enough to end her friendship with Whisper, whom she thought was a jackal.
  • World of Weirdness: The eponymous World. Summoning Rituals and vampire attacks are just some part of it.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Ironically for someone who used to be related to Chris Brown, Jet, who is quite agressive, would never attack a girl, despite what the public perceives him.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Even Mephiles, who likes to hurt others with his summons, won't dare to hurt a child like Cream.
  • You Won't Like Me When I'm Angry:
    • When Mephiles is enraged enough, no matter how severe your offense was, he'll summon Mephiles the Dark from the '06 universe and let him wreck chaos (or not really).
    • Shadow will equip Frickin' Laser Beams and also be happy to summon his '06 self.
    • Jet, reflecting his father's violent tendencies, will hit someone (except for Sonic, Mephiles, and girls) when he is angry.
