MagnaAngemon (HolyAngemon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/magnaangemon_7.jpg
Attacks: Heaven's Gate, Heaven's Heal

An Archangel Digimon with eight shining, silver wings. MagnaAngemon's mission in the Digital World is to act as a law enforcement officer, and it has the duty of supervising and surveying the masses of Angel Digimon. Furthermore, while it usually takes the form of a priest and acts as the spokesperson for the essence of "Light", which tries to preserve the order of the Digital World, when the Digital World is shrouded by the essence of "Darkness", it changes into its Battle Mode to fight off evil. In its Battle Mode, it consigns the opponent to oblivion with the Beam Shield on its left arm and the holy sword Excalibur it wields with its right arm. Additionally, although MagnaAngemon has a personality replete with gentleness and kindness when it is in Priest Mode, it takes on an austere personality when it is in Battle Mode.

MagnaAngemon is the main Ultimate level of Patamon, and is partnered to Takeru (T.K.) Takaishi.

  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Its "Excalibur" where it extends its energy sword on its right arm and attacks.
  • Cool Helmet: A translucent purple one.
  • Combat Medic: Its "Heaven's Heal" where it heals injuries to itself and allies and "Holy Disinfection" where it cures cursed status ailments on allies.

  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Wields a sword while Angewomon wields a bow.

  • Our Angels Are Different: The winged humanoid kind, with a metal plate covering its eyes.
  • Purple Is Powerful: It wears a purple helm and arm guard, and its sword Excalibur is also purple.

A Holy Angemon with the duty to uphold the law of the Digital World. Assuming this form except during battle, it supervises Angel Digimon. It takes this form in Digimon V-Tamer 01, where it serves as the Big Good.

Majiramon

Makuramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Deva.

Mamemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mamemon_0.png
Debut: Digital Monster Ver. 1
Attacks: Smiley Bomb, Strike Upper, One-Two Rush, Buster Dive

A Mutant Digimon that evolved in a harsh environment. Contrary to its cute appearance, it hides terrifying destructive power. With the exception of just one species of Digimon, it probably falls under the category of the strongest. The huge hands attached to its small body are capable of turning into powerful bombs and detaching themselves. Its nickname is the "Smiley Bomber".

Mamemon is notable as the partner of Mameo, the protagonist of the original Digimon World.

  • Always Second Best: Its Digimon Reference Book lore contains a Mythology Gag referring to the original Digital Monster v-pets, where it was the second strongest Ultimate after Monzaemon.
  • Cephalothorax: A perfectly spherical head/body with arms and legs sprouting directly from its sides.
  • Killer Rabbit: It's a small, cute, round Digimon... and also a terribly powerful fighter.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Again, don't underestimate this Digimon just because it's cute and tiny. It's still exceptionally powerful.
  • Red Baron: It is famously known by its nickname, the "Smiley Bomber".
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: It's "One-Two Rush" is a combo of punches and kicks ending in a glowing uppercut.
  • Red Boxing Gloves: It wears them and "Smiley Bomb" fires its hand at the enemy as an explosive bomb.

Mamemon X (Mamemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mamemon_x.jpg
Debut: Digimon Life
Attacks: Smiley Bomb, Bombxing

It causes small explosions simply by punching, even without detaching its huge hands, except during its Special Move.

  • Hot Paint Job: Gains a fire pattern on its gloves, its shoes and above its left arm.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: It's "Bombxing" note  is a combo of punches that create small explosions.

Mametyramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mametyramon.png

A tiny Mutant Digimon feared as the "Tiny Tyrant". It condensed Tyrannomon's data into its tiny body, pushing its ferocious nature and combat instinct to the surface, where they have strikingly manifested in its behavior. While its body may be tiny, rather than assaulting opponents en masse, it always acts by itself, swooping down on Digimon roaming its own territory without wasting its breath, and always making a show of being the strongest in its domain. However, because its body is tiny, its territory is not very wide. With its physical strength condensed several hundred-fold into its tiny body, and its tenacious jaw that can crunch even super-hard armor, it possesses fighting strength that surpasses even that of gigantic Dinosaur Digimon.

  • Cephalothorax: Much like Mamemon proper, it has a roughly spherical head serving as its entire body and attachment point for its limbs and tail.
  • Red Baron: It's called the "Tiny Tyrant".
  • Mon Bites Mon: Its "Mame Bite 1000" where it bites the opponent many times at super speeds.

Mammothmon (Mammon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mammothmon.png
Debut: Digital Monster Ver. S
Attacks: Nose Stomp, Snowball, Tundra Breath, Tusk Strike, Tusk Crushers

The fact that this ancient Digimon existed long ago was made clear from a multitude of evidence. Due to Digital World warming, its super-compressed data was expanded, and it made its way from the once-icebound Ice-Snow Area. Its whole body is covered in dense fur, and although it is an ancient Digimon that possesses immense power, it also has a weakness to extreme heat. The crest engraved into the mask covering its face is a super-ancient crystal of wisdom, so it possesses the power of clairvoyance so that it is able to see far into the distance, and its large ears can even identify sounds from faraway places.

  • Adaptational Dumbass: Its description says it has a crystal in its mask that gives it the power of clairvoyance, allowing it to see things far into the distance, and it is highly likely to be on par with an actual mammoth in terms of intelligence. In the various anime, it's a Monster of the Week that is often portrayed as The Berserker and mindlessly destroys anything it sees.
  • An Ice Person: It's "Snowball" fires a hard frozen snowball from its trunk.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Tundra Breath" spews cold breath from its long trunk all at once, instantly freezing any opponent.
  • Eyeless Face: Played with. Its face is covered by a solid metal plate, hiding its actual eyes, but a stylized eye symbol is etched in the middle of where its forehead would be.
  • Honorable Elephant: A woolly mammoth of the vaccine attribute. Though in most continuities, it tends to be portrayed as a Cruel Elephant instead.
  • Natural Weapon: Its "Tusk Strikes" skewers the opponent with its two elongated tusks, or fires its tusks like missiles and "Nose Stamp" hits the opponent with its trunk.

Mammothmon X (Mammon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mammonx.jpg

Mammothon had several tens of percent corrupted data or higher when it expanded from its super-compressed data, but it restored up to 99% of it as a result of its self-repairing ability increasing due to the effects of the X-Antibody, and has become a near-perfect figure of a Mammothon that lived in ancient times. The mask covering its face has reached as far as its back and abdomen. So, not only is its appearance exhibited in perfect condition, but also its abilities due to the crest engraved into its mask, and it has been proven that it has started instinctively tracking down Virus-species as it discovers them. In addition, it also revived a Special Move called "Geometric Freezer", a barrier that freezes only Virus-species with the cold air released from its nasal cavity. Based on these facts, Mammothon is thought to have been a Virus Hunter Digimon in the harsh Ice-Snow Area.

  • An Ice Person: It's "Geometric Freezer" is a barrier that freezes only Virus-species with the cold air released from its nasal cavity.

Manticoremon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/manticoremon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Reference Book

A ferocious Demon Beast Digimon that prefers the Digicores of Virus Digimon. It is employed by angel Digimon, who noticed its obsession with devilish viruses. It lacks intelligence and reasoning, and its sole raison d'étre is simply to consume the data of others.

  • The Berserker: Even its Angel Digimon employers have difficulty controlling it once it's let loose.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: It has three tails, ending with stingers, which it uses to impale enemies and inject them with acid.
  • Expy: As a demon beast-type in the employ of Angemon species, it would already be a revamp of Gargomon even before the white body, blue claws, and metal face coverings. Unlike its predecessor, however, this one is wild beyond control.
  • Eyeless Face: Its head is covered with an eyeless metal helmet.
  • Non-Indicative Name: While named after the manticore, it doesn't look remotely like typical depictions of one, beyond the stinger tail.
  • Our Manticores Are Spinier: It's a rather unusual take on this trope. It's got the leonine body, human head, sharp teeth and stinger-tipped tail as usual, but has three tails instead of one, a metal mask completely covering its face, a freakishly long tongue, tattered wing-like projections growing from its facial mask, a bib-like cloth inscribed with Japanese kanji, and fanged mouths on its feet.

MarinChimairamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marinchimairamon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum Z

A Composite Digimon that was created by putting together the parts of various Aquatic Digimon. It is thought to have been produced using the same technology as Chimairamon, but other than that it is a complete mystery. It appears out of nowhere, bringing devastation to ecosystems with its terrifying destructive impulses, and then disappears somewhere else.

  • Combat Tentacles: It's got Gesomon's tentacles on its back, and Octomon's tentacles on its tail.
  • Expy: Chimairamon IN WATER!
  • Mix-and-Match Critter: It's a chimera of various ocean-going Digimon, such as Ikakumon (head), Coelamon (also head), Ebidramon (left arm), Hangyomon (right arm and weapon), Dolphmon (back), Octomon (shoulder), Seadramon (tail) and Gesomon (back and tentacles).
  • Red Right Hand: Its right arm is made from Hangyomon, so it looks humanoid. Meanwhile, its left arm is Ebidramon's larger claw (which is red).
  • Sea Monster: It's an underwater variant of Chimairamon.

MarineDevimon (MarinDevimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marinedevimon.png

A dirty fighter that even Devimon hates to fight. Though it is a subspecies of Devimon, it completely lacks all emotions but hatred due to its lonely life in the ocean depths. In order to win by any means, it won't let up with its attacks even if the opponent loses their fighting spirit. The two tentacles growing from its back each possess their own will, so they will struggle for the catch and act without permission.

It was notably a member of the Demon Corps.

  • Breath Weapon: Its "Guilty Black" where it discharges poisonous ink or dark electricity from its mouth.
  • Cthulhumanoid: While it is more humanoid then not, its arms are actually tentacles and it has two more growing from its back.
  • Combat Pragmatist: In order to win by any means, it won't let up with its attacks even if the opponent loses their fighting spirit.
  • Combat Tentacles: Its "Neck Hanging" where it chokes the opponent with its tentacles and "Shimetsuke" note  where it attacks the enemy with the claws of its tentacles.
  • Living Weapon: Its tentacles can act independently of it.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: MarineDevimon keeps attacking even after its opponent gives up.
  • Poisonous Person: It "Guilty Black" Discharges poisonous ink or dark electricity from its mouth.
  • Sea Monster: A subspecies of Devimon that dwells in the ocean depths.

MasterTyrannomon (MasterTyranomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mastertyrannomon.png

A Dinosaur Digimon that evolved from a Tyrannomon that overcame many fierce battles. The scars covering its body act as proof of the numerous battles it has survived. It takes on a master-like role, coaching its Tyrannomon followers and raising them to become full-fledged warriors.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Master Claw" where it slashes the enemy with its huge claws.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Master Fire" where it breathes powerful flames from its mouth.
  • Heal Thyself: Its "Seishin Chūnyū" note  returns its status or an ally's status to normal.
  • Old Master: An old Tyrannomon that saw many trials and battles, and which now teaches younger Tyrannomon how to become fierce warriors themselves.
  • Palette Swap: It's a gray recolor of the red Tyrannomon. It also has slightly similar colors to DarkTyrannomon, although DarkTyrannomon is black instead of gray.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Chou Kounetsu Touki" note  radiates a fiery heat wave from its body.

Matadormon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/matadormon.jpg
Attacks: Butterfly-Breaking Trumpet Kick, Bulldog, Thousand Arrow

A bloodsucking martial artist Digimon that performs a magnificent dance. It is said that it was born from the folk-dance database of a certain museum, and that it has mastered the unique steps of the "Bulldog". It uses its fluttering garment to deceive the opponent, and when the opponent drops its guard from a glance at the soft-colored cloth, it falls upon them with the countless rapiers stocked on its arms. Because it is a vampire, it can't survive unless it sucks a Digimon's blood, but as not just anyone will do, it seeks only the blood of strong Digimon and seems to constantly be moving from place to place.

  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Its official name is "Matadrmon", which is clearly missing an "o". It has also been translated as "Matadrumon", a corrupted variant of its Japanese pronunciation (Matadurumon).
  • Flechette Storm: Its "Thousand Arrow" fires the countless rapiers hidden in its sleeves.
  • Dance Battler: Its "Chouzetsu Rappashū" note  where it attacks with a mighty kick from the sky and "Bulldog" note  is a unique martial art in the form of a dance.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: A vaguely humanoid dancing vampire.

Megadramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see the page on the Crack Team.

MegaKabuterimon (Blue) (AtlurKabuterimon (Blue))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/atlurkabuterimon_blue.jpg

An evolution of Kabuterimon that was discovered within the tropical region of the Net Area. It is almost 1.5 times Kabuterimon's size, and is quite large among Insect Digimon. While its flight abilities have regressed to a certain extent, the strength of its horn, which is its main weapon, has soared. Also, muscular tissues have appeared on the base of its forelimbs, so its grappling ability has also improved. Its behavior, with the exception of its survival instincts, has been observed to consist of protecting the weak, and there are even times when its behavior has appeared knight-like.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Wild Scratch" slices at the enemy several times with its claws.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Bipedal beetles the size of a house.
  • Competitive Balance: Between the two color variants; they are differentiated by their flight abilities.
  • Flight: They can both fly, but the red variant does so better than the blue one.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Its "Horn Buster" blasts fire from rear end and rockets at the enemy, slamming into it with horn.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Horn Buster" attack.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: Zigzagged. While this version is slower than the red MegaKabuterimon, their combat specialities are different. While the red version specializes in grappling, the blue is a better physical fighter overall.
  • Mighty Glacier: While the red version has better flying skills and has a specialized fighting style, this one has limited flying capacity, but is a better physical fighter overall.
  • Out of Focus: Compared to MegaKabuterimon (Red), the blue older brother doesn't get a whole lot of time in the spotlight. The closest it gets to a proper animated appearance is as soldiers in the Bagra Army in Digimon Fusion.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Mega Blaster" gathers electricity in its horn, then shoots a ball of lightning.
  • Thunder Beetle: Much like the rest of the Kabuterimon line, these beetle Digimon wield powerful lightning attacks.

MegaKabuterimon (Red) (AtlurKabuterimon (Red))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megakabuterimon.png

An evolution of Kabuterimon that was discovered within the tropical region of the Net Area. It is almost 1.5 times Kabuterimon's size, and is quite large among Insect Digimon. It is the same species as the blue Atlur Kabuterimon, and similarly, the strength of its horn, which is its main weapon, has soared, but this type of Atlur Kabuterimon seems to have surpassed it in flight ability. Also, muscular tissues have appeared on the base of its forelimbs, so its grappling ability has also improved. Its behavior, with the exception of its survival instincts, has been observed to consist of protecting the weak, and there are even times when its behavior has appeared knight-like.

This variation of MegaKabuterimon is the main Ultimate level of Tentomon, and is partnered to Koushiro (Izzy) Izumi.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Wild Scratch" slices at the enemy several times with claws, or slashes with its electrified horn.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Bipedal beetles the size of a house.
  • Competitive Balance: Between the two color variants; they are differentiated by their flight abilities.
  • Flight: They can both fly, but the red variant does so better than the blue one.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Its "Horn Buster" blasts fire from rear end and rockets at the enemy, slamming into it with horn, or fires a beam from its horn and "Rhino Charge" Lowers its horn and charges the enemy, flipping them into the air.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Horn Buster" attack.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: Zigzagged. While this version is faster than the blue MegaKabuterimon, their combat specialities are different. While the red version specializes in grappling, the blue is a better physical fighter overall.
  • Palette Swap: Of the blue version, which came first. In a strange turn of events, it's the Palette Swap that's made a partner in Digimon Adventure.
  • Red Ones Go Faster: Or at least have better flight ability.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Mega Blaster" gathers electricity in horn, then shoots a ball of lightning, "Lightning Wave" summons a series of lightning bolts that strike around it, "Power Outage" slams the ground with its electrified fists, "High Mega Blaster" is a more powerful version of Mega Blaster, and "Super Charge" discharges electricity from its entire body, shocking everyone around it.
  • Spectacular Spinning: Its "Super Electric Strike" while in midair, it spins into a ball and slams itself into the ground, causing an explosion of electrical energy.
  • Thunder Beetle: Much like the rest of the Kabuterimon line, these beetle Digimon wield powerful lightning attacks.

MegaSeadramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megaseadramon.png
Attacks: Thunder Javelin

Seadramon-species that survived the harsh environment of the Folder Continent area evolved into this form, in order to outlive others in the Digital World where the weak are food for the strong. Its body became a size larger, the carapace covering its head got harder, and a lightning-shaped blade has grown on its calvaria. Its intelligence has developed more than the Seadramon-species, so it chases its opponent persistently, like a seeking torpedo, and reliably brings them down.

  • An Ice Person: Its "Ice Reflect" hits the water surface, creating a wall of ice and "Maelstrom" shoots a freezing cold blast from its mouth, summons a great wave, or summons an electrically charged tornado.
  • Breath Weapon: Maelstrom is an ice-based one.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Dramon Attack" where it stabs the opponent with the blade on its head and "Thunder Blade" where it stabs the enemy with the electrified blade on the head.
  • Sea Serpents: A giant sea serpent with a sword-like horn.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Thunder Javelin" is a powerful lightning strike fired from the blade on its calvaria. There is a generator device equipped in the carapace on its head, in order to enable this Special Move.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: It chases its targets relentlessly until they're caught.

MegaSeadramon X (MegaSeadramon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megaseadramonx.jpg

Having survived in the intensely competitive Net Ocean since ancient times, MegaSeadramon, who is called the king of the Seadramon-species, appears with that body color having outlived others in every region of the Net Ocean, from ice-bound seas to tropical waters. By repeatedly using its Special Move "Thunder Javelin" in countless battles, the blade on its calvaria has been well-tempered and honed, and its conductivity has also increased.

  • Horn Attack: Its "King Javelin" where it thrusts its blade into the enemy and tears them to pieces.
  • Making a Splash: "Maelstrom" summons a great wave.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Thunder Javelin" fires electricity from the blade on its head.

Meicrackmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meicrackmon.jpg

The evolved form of Meicoomon. It often acts alone due to the fact that it hates conflict, in addition to its shy temperament. It is usually seen with its body curled up in sunlit areas, napping leisurely. When it senses someone drawing near, it takes cover using its keen movements and observes the situation. Although it will soften up to those who come bringing food, it will continue to lay low if they are an enemy. However, if the enemy refuses to leave its territory, it will engage them by displaying power that is unimaginable from its usual calm demeanor in order to protect its home.

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its "Modestly Stun" where it restrains the enemy with its two appendages, paralyzing them with the stinger on its tail.
  • Cat Folk: Despite being a Perfect level, it acts like... well, an ordinary housecat, snoozing away most of the day, and following around someone who brings it food, or viciously attacking intruders.
  • Doppelgänger Spin: Its "Felt Made" creates copies of itself with the lures it sends flying.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Applies to its Vicious Mode as well; Meicrackmon has been spelled as "Maycrackmon" in Digimon ReArise.
  • Wolverine Claws: It wears clawed boots.

Meicrackmon Vicious Mode

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meicrackmon_vicious.jpg
Attacks: Berserk Thinking, Felt Made

As the normally gentle Meicrackmon's heart is tainted by evil, its entire body transforms into a cracked form. It views the whole world as a enemy whom it has been wronged by, and its desire is to see the world destroyed. Making use of its exceptional leg strength and perception, as well as its phenomenal feral instincts, it hounds the opponent and doesn't let up until they meet their end. The Cursed Claws that extend from its arm and leg armour are made of Red Digizoid, further adding to their already great cutting ability brought out by its tough body, and allowing it to slice up even slabs of metal as if they were paper.

This form of Meicrackmon is partnered to Meiko Mochizuki.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Berserk Thinking" scratches the opponent with the claws of both hands, making an X.
  • The Berserker: The name suggests it, and one of Vicious Mode's attacks is called "Berserk Thinking".
  • Doppelgänger Spin: It shares its base form's Felt Made attack.
  • Evil Counterpart: Inverted. Meicrackmon Vicious Mode debuted in 2016, while the "true" Meicrackmon debuted in 2017, setting up a bizarre scenario in which the evil variant is also the original.
  • Foil: Vicious Mode is The Berserker, while regular Meicrackmon avoids conflict.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: Averted. Meicrackmon is Cat Folk, so she's still a mammal.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Its card info says it wants to destroy the world.
  • Sensible Heroes, Skimpy Villains: Meicrackmon Vicious Mode's ruff flies upwards to show off her upper-story charms.
  • Spell My Name With An S: As she inherits MeiCoomon's namesame (the Maine Coon species), there's some disagreement on whether it should be Meicrackmon, Maycrackmon, or Maicrackmon.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Vicious Mode has longer, sharper claws than regular Meicrackmon and her stings ooze dark mist.
  • Wolverine Claws: It has claws made of Red Digizoid on its wrist-guards and boots.

Mephistomon (Mephismon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mephismon.png
Attacks: Death Cloud, Black Sabbath

A Fallen Angel Digimon which has the appearance of a giant male goat. It is also a dark being born from the lingering thought-data of an Apocalymon that attempted to destroy all life. Like Apocalymon, its governing principle is the extermination of all life. It specializes in the black magic of the Dark-species, and its personality is endlessly cruel. However, it is highly intelligent, and is also a tactician.

A Mephistomon is the main villain in Digimon Tamers: The Adventurers' Battle.

  • Came Back Wrong: Just slightly. Apocalymon is a Mega level, but Mephistomon was reborn a level lower.
  • Casting a Shadow: Its "Death Cloud" generates a cloud of darkness that corrodes everything and "Black Sabbath" uses a dark incantation to pray for a festival of death, or fires a dark shock wave from its hand. Those who hear this spell will soon die.
  • Gruesome Goat: A powerful, evil demon resembling a humanoid goat.
  • Mephistopheles: Mephistomon is a powerful demonic Digimon who, borrowing a page from Baphomet, resembles a winged, humanoid goat. It's a cunning tactician and utterly evil, and its end goal is the destruction of all life.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Like Apocalymon, its governing principle is the extermination of all life.
  • Our Demons Are Different: It's named after Mephistopheles and resembles the traditional goat-headed fiends of medieval demonology.
  • Reused Character Design: Mephistomon is almost identical to the obscure Digimon V-Tamer 01 digimon Panimon, with only partial variations in their visual motifsnote . Given that Panimon's originally slated debut was cut for time and he was reduced to minor cameos, it seems very likely that Mephistomon was born from recycling Panimon's then-unused design.

Mephistomon X (Mephismon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mephismonx.png

Since its appearance has changed from a male goat to that of a female goat and dressed itself in a ladylike fashion, it skillfully uses advanced dark incantations, and its every move exudes elegance. Its raison d'être is casting death upon those crying and begging for their lives or those struggling hopelessly with a dark incantation shot (Hermannia) and its "Merry Merry Destruction", where it unleashes a vast amount of magical power from its umbrella.

  • Casting a Shadow: Its "Hermannia" is a dark incantation shot.
  • Gender Bender: While Digimon don't normally have assigned genders, the X-Antibody has turned it from a demonic ram to a demonic ewe.
  • Improbable Weapon User: It's started wielding a magic umbrella. Its "Merry Merry Destruction" unleashes a vast amount of magical power from its umbrella.
  • Meaningful Name: Its "Hermannia" attack is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. Certain species of the genus have magical significance and are used to drive out spirits.
  • Sadist: It likes nothing more than attacking enemies who are begging and pleading for mercy.

Mermaimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mermaimon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Story: Lost Evolution
Attacks: Charm Plunder, Northern Cross Bomber

A Digimon with the appearance of the legendary Mermaid, it is based in seas found in cold regions even in the Digital World. It is good at singing, which is unusual for a Digimon, and does so with a very beautiful timbre, charming those who listen to it. However, because it is greedy and extremely fond of treasure, it charms those with its singing when it feels attracted to the treasure, even if their data (treasure) belongs to other Digimon, and then takes the opportunity to loot from them. For that reason, it is rumored that it hides a vast amount of data somewhere in the Net Ocean, but it loses interest in the data it has looted once it falls into its possession, and discards it.

Mermaimon is a potential Ultimate form of Shakomon, and is partnered to Miu Shinonome.

MetalGreymon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metalgreymon.png
Debut: Digivice Toy Version 1note

A Cyborg Digimon which has mechanized more than half of its body. The MetalGreymon of File Island were able to drastically extend their vital functions through remodeling, but their flesh portions could not hold out and were discolored blue. However, perfect MetalGreymon are Cyborg Digimon that succeed in evolving from Greymon, and draw out a stronger power. In order to evolve to MetalGreymon, it must fight its way through and defeat the formidable opponents who come against it. Also, Metal Greymon's offensive power is said to equal that of a single nuclear warhead, and if the likes of a low-level Digimon suffered that blow, it would be annihilated without leaving a trace.

This form of MetalGreymon is the main Ultimate form of Agumon. Between the two, you will most likely recognize this one as the partner of Taichi Yagami (Tai Kamiya) and Takuma Momotsuka. It was also formerly a partner to Neo Saiba.

  • Breath Weapon: Its "Over Flame" unleashes a wave of fire from its Trident Arm or mouth.
  • Extendable Arms: Its "Trident Arm" where it launches its retractable Trident Arm on a cable.
  • Chest Blaster: It has one that it fires its Giga Destroyer and Giga Storm attacks from.
  • Cyborg: Its left arm and most of its chest, head, upper jaw and part of its tail have been replaced with mechanical implants.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Its "Giga Destroyer" launches organic missiles from the hatch on its chest and "Tera Destroyer" is a more powerful version of Giga Destroyer.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: A cyborg dinosaur.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: The virus MetalGreymon failed to properly adapt to its new metallic augmentations, and as such, its skin turned a sickly blue. This MetalGreymon, on the other hand, managed to succeed in making itself a cyborg and has thus kept its orange hue, drawing out an even greater power in the process.
  • Palette Swap: Although it is typically treated as the default, it was this to the original blue Virus MetalGreymon as a creation for the anime.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Not as much as other examples, but MetalGreymon is said to have the power of a nuclear warhead.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Metal Slash" is a fiery slash with its metal claws and "Metal Slash Kai" note  is a more powerful version of Metal Slash.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Its "Giga Storm", an attack that was introduced in the 2020 anime and which its Reference Book entry updated to include, fires a high-temperature energy wave from its Chest Blaster's firing ports. The anime proper depicts the Giga Destroyer missiles themselves firing the attack.

MetalGreymon X (MetalGreymon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metalgreymonx.jpg
Attacks: Trident Arm VER 9.9, Giga Destroyer

Both its flesh portions and remodeled portions are perfectly well-balanced, possibly because of how intense the power it had obtained was, the "Trident Arm VER 9.9" on its left arm has a control program set in its Digicore that has been upgraded to its limit, and possesses the energy equivalent of a single shot of "Giga Destroyer" in just one swing, so it is an offensive force that must never be endured in close combat.

  • Chest Blaster: Its "Giga Destroyer" shoots organic missiles from a hatch in its chest.
  • Extendable Arms: Its "Trident Arm VER 9.9" where it swings its Trident Arm with the destructive energy of Giga Destroyer.

MetalGreymon Alterous Mode

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metalgreymon_alterous.jpg
Attacks: Positron Blaster, Alter Blade

MetalGreymon, who acquired mighty power by mechanizing its upper body, has been updated with further mechanization to its right arm. With the accumulation of fierce battles that it has lived through, it transformed its right arm into a huge energy cannon called "Alterous" so that it can fight against tough enemies that draw near. It exhibits its full combat ability at both close and long range, and has been remodeled to defeat any tough enemy it encounters.

  • Arm Cannon: It's replaced its right arm with the Alterous from the viral MetalGreymon's X-Antibody form. It even gets a unique attack with it called Positron Blaster.
  • Composite Character: It's the vaccine-attribute MetalGreymon, equipped with the main weapon of the virus variant's X-Antibody form.
  • Laser Blade: Its Alter Blade attack generates one of these from the Alteros.
  • Wave-Motion Tuning Fork: It uses the Alterous for both of its attacks. It's a slightly different design from the viral MetalGreymon X's, though

MetalGreymon (2010 anime)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metalgreymon_282010_anime29_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Trident Arm, Giga Destroyer

The "Tactical-Enhancement Mode", which possesses MailBirdramon's armor on top of Greymon's power, is a form which was strengthened without hindering the fighting strength of Greymon, who specialised in close-combat fighting.

This version of MetalGreymon is the main enforcer of Kiriha (Christopher) Aonuma's Blue Flare army, and is the primary component in a lot of Kiriha's DigiXrosses.

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: MailBirdramon's head now takes the place of Greymon's tail cannon.
  • Cyborg: Subverted, since it is actually Greymon wearing MailBirdramon as an armor.
  • Flight: Is capable of this, thanks to the MailBirdramon parts.
  • Fusion Dance: Between MailBirdramon and Greymon.
  • Helmets Are Hardly Heroic: MailBirdramon's helmet now covers Greymon's head.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: MetalGreymon's visor is deep red.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it an Ultimate, same as the other incarnations of MetalGreymon. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.

MetalGreymon (Virus)

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Crack Team.

MetallifeKuwagamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metallifekuwagamon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Life
Attacks: Homing Laser, Emit Blade

A subspecies of Kuwagamon which rapidly boosted its offensive power by means of armification. It has also gained grappling ability due to the fact that its form has become humanoid, and as it has both a tough shell as well as nimble movements, it boasts top-class balance among Perfect Digimon.

One is under the possesson of Ryouma Mogami.

  • Facial Markings: Two purple stripes on each side of its face.
  • Homing Lasers: It is able to freely alter the trajectory of its "Homing Laser", a beam fired from the gun points equipped to the fingertips of its hands, at its own will, allowing the beam to avoid any kind of obstacle and hit the opponent dead on.
  • Laser Blade: Also, it demonstrates its power in close combat with its "Emit Blade", which emits a beam in the shape of a blade and slashes with it.

MetalMamemon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Crack Team.

MetalPhantomon (MetalFantomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metalfantomon.jpg
Attacks: Grave Scream

A Cyborg Digimon that fully mechanized the body of the Reaper-like Fantomon. It operates using an energy supply from another dimension's Digital World, and it is even said that its strings are being pulled by someone. Its energy emission-shaped sickle gives off a "Grave Scream", a strange, eerie sound, then reaps souls directly, regardless of any kind of armor or shields.

  • Dem Bones: A metallic version.
  • Laser Blade: Its weapon is an energy scythe.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Its "Grave Scream" emits a screaming sound from its scythe that puts enemies to sleep so it can use nightmares to devour their souls.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Its cloak is red and black end its official artwork gives it a pink scythe.
  • Sinister Scythe: Its "Soul Predator" enlarges its energy scythe and either slashes the enemy with it or fires a barrage of energy blades from it.
  • The Grim Reaper: It is a Metal version of the digimon Fantomon.

MetalTyrannomon (MetalTyranomon)

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon and its X-Antibody variant, see the page on the Crack Team.

Meteormon (Insekimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meteormon.png
Attacks: Cosmo Flash

A form of Gottsumon which for some reason had the meteorite data within the ore data it possesses appear on its surface. It is made from a hard material which only exists in space, and possesses powerful defensive ability.

  • Colony Drop: It's "Cosmo Flash" summons cosmic energy, causing a meteor shower or sending opponents to another dimension. Its "Falling Star" drops one or more meteors on an enemy.
  • Palette Swap: It's a greenish recolor of the blue Icemon, and thus a recolor of the original grey Gottsumon.
  • Rock Monster: It's a humanoid being made up of rough-hewn rocks, much like Gottsumon, but in its case is explicitly made up of ore from meteorites.

Mihiramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Deva.

Mistymon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mistymon.jpg

A Magic Warrior Digimon who came from "Witchelny", the Digital World of another dimension. In addition to mastering various forms of sorcery (high-level programming language), it is also a sword wielder and possesses skillful swordsmanship. Extremely well-versed in both chivalry and witchcraft, it can attack by imbuing its sword with magical power.

  • Flaming Sword: Its "Blast Fire" envelops its sword with a single flame and then delivers a slash attack with increased power and it can also send the surrounding flames from its sword to its opponent.
  • Magic Knight: An armored, sword-wielding mage.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Despite being a Virus type, it's a Virus Buster itself.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Core Dart" where it surrounds its crystal ball with fire, which it can freely manipulate, and throws it at its enemies, is a technique that manages both offense and defense skillfully.

Monzaemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monzaemon_7.png
Debut: Digital Monster Ver. 1
Attacks: Lovely Attack

A Digimon that is completely shrouded in mystery. From its looks, it's an unmodified plush toy of a bear, so it's rumored that there is someone within, who got in through where the chuck is attached on its back section. It wraps the opponent up in the love overflowing from this cute body (with scary eyes), and makes them feel happy.

Notable users of Monzaemon include Mirei Mikagura and Emilie de Rochfort.

  • Bear Hug: Its "Silence Hug" where it grabs the foe with both paws and "Ai no Houkou" note  where it heals someone with a loving hug.
  • Care-Bear Stare: It's "Lovely Attack" shoots hearts that that can incapacitate the opponent or make them happy.
  • Creepy Good: Monzaemon uses The Power of Love and in most appearances would love to just dish out hugs all day. It's only when you pay close attention that you start noticing how he has Red Eyes, Take Warning and rumors about something living inside the teddy bear.
  • Elemental Punch: Its "Boom Boom Punch" punches with a glowing paw, or smacks an enemy multiple times with both paws.
  • Eye Beams: Its "Mekara Beam" note  shoots lasers from its eyes.
  • Getting Smilies Painted on Your Soul: Its "Lovely Charm" which is similar to Lovely Attack, it radiates hearts that soothe the enemy, weakening their attacks.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Its original English name was "Teddymon".
  • Magikarp Power: In the original V-pets, Monzaemon evolved from the Joke Character Numemon, who was the absolute bottom of rung on the Champion evolution ladder. Monzaemon, on the other hand, was the most powerful of the three final Ultimates: a reward for sticking with the weak slug and treating it with excellent care and training.

Monzaemon X (Monzaemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monzaemonx.jpg

The love overflowing from within its body has manifested as a Lovely Gel that is filled with hearts, and its cuteness has gone up even more. It is happy to pluck its Lovely Gel and give it to Digimon drawn in by its cuteness. Since the Digimon that receive it feel happy, it seems that it likes watching them smile more than anything. Should an enemy appear that attacks the Digimon who have gathered together, it will repel them with its "Lovely Splash", which pours large amounts of its Lovely Gel over them. This technique becomes more powerful as the support for Monzaemon increases.

  • Creepy Good: Exagerrated. It uses The Power of Love to decorate itself with an angelic halo and wings, but its power manifests as a bizarre slime called the Lovely Gel. (Indeed, a discarded early draft of Monzaemon X indicated that the slime was overflowing Numemon sludge, complete with extra bulging eyeballs in the sludge).
  • Eyes Always Shut: Subverted. Its eyes are almost perfectly shut, and the change in color from red to green makes them less notable, but the eyes are still there. Watching you.

Mummymon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mummymon.png
Attacks: Snake Bandage, Necrophobia

An Undead Digimon whose whole body is wrapped in bandages in the manner of an Egyptian mummy. It is also known as the "Necromancer" due to its summoning and manipulation of the reluctant souls (residual data) of annihilated Digimon. What it's thinking is difficult to understand because it is taciturn and its facial expressions are concealed, but it is a dangerous being that if attacked will brandish its weapon and completely beat down the opponent, and if cornered will start randomly firing its cherished gun, "Obelisk".

It is notable as a major antagonist in Digimon Adventure 02.

  • Bandage Mummy: Several of Mummymon's traits, such as its leg braces and its use of a rifle as a crutch, point to it being based off of a heavily injured and totally bandaged soldier more than anything else.
  • Cyclops: It only has one eye — the left one, to be precise.
  • Mummy: Its design is chiefly based off of a Bandage Mummy, with some visual cues from the Egyptian kind.
  • Necromancer: Its "Necrophobia" calls forth evil spirits to attack the enemy, or fires an energy blast from its gun Obelisk.
  • Psychotic Smirk: Its default expression.
  • Red Baron: It is the "Necromancer" due to its summoning and manipulation of the reluctant souls (residual data) of annihilated Digimon.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: Well, actually it only has one eye.

MusoKnightmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/musoknightmon_b.jpg
Debuted In: Digimon Xros Loader
Attacks: Goudarai Gun, Chouriki Meidouha, Majūryoku Jubakujin

MusoKnightmon is the "Darkness-Rumbling Mode" born from the Digixros of DarkKnightmon and Tuwarmon, in which the Gouradarai Gun note  was added to DarkKnightmon, so that DarkKnightmon, who boasts of overwhelming power, became an even more destructive and fiendish Digimon.

MusoKnightmon is partnered to Yuu (Ewan) Amano.

  • Arm Cannon: Tuwarmon's arms become the cannons.
  • BFG: What Tuwarmon becomes for DarkKnightmon
  • Equippable Ally: Tuwarmon
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it an Ultimate. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.

Myotismon (Vamdemon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/myotismon_4.png

Resurrected through the dark arts, it is the king of Undead Digimon which has obtained mighty powers. Originally a fiendish computer virus which destroyed the computer data it absorbed, it possessed the ability to revive the destroyed data as malignant computer viruses. As it possesses an extremely cruel and cunning personality, it is exceedingly difficult to destroy this Digimon. However, it cannot demonstrate its powers outside of the night, and its power is cut in half during the daytime.

It is best known as one of the Arc Villains of Digimon Adventure, leading an army of followers into the Real World in search of the Eighth Chosen Child. One is also a major NPC in the Digimon World series, where it's a lot friendlier than its anime counterpart. It is also a partner Digimon, evolving from Dracumon (ironically enough) and being partnered to Kaito Shinonome.

  • Bat Out of Hell: Its "Night Raid" unleashes a cloud of Familiar Bats at its enemy
  • Bloody Murder: Its "Bloody Stream" where it attacks by using a stream of blood as a whip.
  • Casting a Shadow: Its "Cloud Minion" throws a spiral of dark mist and "Nightmare Wave" note  emits a dark wave that hypnotizes the enemy, either amplifying their doubts and driving them mad or putting them to sleep.
  • Cool Mask: It has a red, bat-themed mask, which shows up again with both MaloMyotismon and NeoMyotismon.
  • Familiar: It commands the Familiar Bats. Familiar Bats (also termed Night Raiders) are a type of creature that resemble small black or brown bats, usually with a letter of the roman alphabet on their foreheads. They can be used in attacks and often linger around dark Digimon. Some can also possess venom to cause temporary blindness.
  • Faux Affably Evil: It's described as having a cruel and cunning personality underneath its refined exterior. There do exist exceptions, however, such as its Digimon World counterpart.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Despite its (warranted) reputation as a cruel, merciless vampire, good Myotismon do exist. One is even a partner.
  • The Paralyzer: Its "Dead Scream" unleashes a wave from its cape that paralyzes its foe.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: It's based on the original, Bram Stoker version of Dracula. Much like that version, Myotismon doesn't "die" in sunlight, instead losing half of its power, and can turn those it destroys into more versions of itself. Its anime counterpart is even shown to feed on human blood if it has to, and anyone made unconscious this way is entirely at his mercy.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: Its "Blood Punch" where it attacks with continuous strikes using both hands.
  • Vampire Monarch: It's themed after an aristocratic vampire and it's often portrayed as having minions.
  • Weakenedby The Light: In true vampire fashion, it's only half as strong in sunlight as it is at night.

Myotismon X (Vamdemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vamdemonx.png

Its face and body are artificial, and its true form lies within its cape. It appears as though it has arms, but these are dummies. The internal structure of its Digicore has been enhanced, allowing it to exhibit its full power even during the daytime.

NeoDevimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neodevimon2.jpg

Attacks: Guilty Claw

An evolved form of Devimon that was enhanced by someone. It is an Artificial Digimon that was artificially strengthened and completely controlled, even as far as its own will. The mask which covers its face suppresses NeoDevimon's own power, and it is said that it is worn in order to control its will.

  • Blow You Away: Its "Deep Sorrow" where it flaps its wings and produces gales of despair.
  • Characterization Marches On: In its debut, it was simply a Devimon that was enhanced by Neo Saiba, hence its name. Since then however, it's presented as a Digimon that naturally evolves from Devimon.
  • Creepily Long Arms: Its "Guilty Claw" is an enhanced version of Death Claw, where it extends its claws to puncture the enemy's body which can also brainwash them.
  • Cyborg: It is listed as a Artificial Fallen Angel-type.
  • Our Demons Are Different: Sometimes they're cyborgs!
  • Power Limiter: Its mask is one.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Stun Claw" where it attacks with electrically charged claws.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: Said to be a Devimon that was artificially strengthened by someone.

    O-P

Oboromon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/600px_oboromon.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digital Monster
Attacks: Chiyorozu-no-tachi, Rashōmon

An Undead Digimon that lives in graveyards like a ghost, it is a berserker who never backs down against superior opponents and fights by any means necessary. It is thought that the reason it has an unusually intense obsession with victory is because it has taken in a large amount of hatred data from the Digimon it has defeated. On the other hand, it has virtually no sense of self, and when it isn't fighting, it wanders around the graveyard foolishly, and has occasionally been witnessed conversing suspiciously with the beast skull fused to its left arm. Although the blade protruding from the skull is brittle and breaks easily, it has the characteristic of regenerating over and over again each time it breaks. Also, in addition to changing shape freely, the "Yūgen" scarf around its neck is capable of operating independently. It has versatile functions such as wrapping around and capturing the enemy, or striking them hard with the whole of the cloth.

  • The Berserker: It's absorbed enough hatred from the Digimon it's slain that it throws itself into any battle it finds and doesn't even know how to do anything other than fight.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Its left arm is a beast skull with a regenerating sword protruding from the mouth, which it uses for its Chiyorozu-no-tachi attack.
  • Cloth Fu: Its scarf is capable of attacking independently of the main body.
  • Fog Feet: It has a skull-shaped will-o'-the-wisp in place of legs.
  • Playing with Fire: It can detach the skull-shaped flame on its lower body to scorch large areas with its Rashōmon attack.
  • Youkai: Oboromon is loosely based on the Oboroguruma.

Okuwamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/okuwamon.png
Attacks: Scissor Arms Omega

As an evolution of Kuwagamon, it evolved more balefully than Kabuterimon-species Digimon. It was enhanced with a particular focus on Kuwagamon's inferior defensive side. As for its offensive side, the reconnaissance ability of its antennae was improved, and the attack accuracy of its scissors was increased. In addition, it has been proven that it possesses not only its survival instinct but also its destructive impulses as its primary traits. It can be said that it is a more aggressive evolved form.

Notable partners of Okuwamon include Arata Sanada.

  • The Berserker: Subverted. Its survival instincts balance out its violent impulses. Its "Hakai no Shoudou" note  where it flies into a rage and attacks wildly.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: The O in its name is from the Japanese word for big.
  • Eyeless Face: As with many other insect Digimon, Okuwamon's face and eyes are completely obscured by a solid plate of chitin.
  • Flight: It is able to fly with its four wings.
  • Natural Weapon: Its "Scissor Arms Ω" where it attacks with its two giant scissor claws that are strong enough to split through even a diamond with a hardness of 10.

Okuwamon X (Okuwamon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ookuwamonx2.jpg

Like Kuwagamon, its instinctive, destructive impulses such as swooping down on non-Virus Digimon without wasting its breath, have increased. It now has three gigantic pincers on its head, and its offensive ability has powered up not by three times that of the original Okuwamon, but rather by its cube.

  • Natural Weapon: Its "Scissor Arms Ω 3 Cubed" an enhanced version of Scissor Arms Ω.
  • Super Mode: The only thing that sets it apart is that it's stronger than the default form and now has three gigantic pincers on its head.

Oleamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/600px_oleamon.jpg
Attacks: Jameal, Leafred

An Insectivorous Plant Digimon confirmed to inhabit the forest regions of the Digital World. The scent emitted from its flower attracts Insect Digimon in particular. It wraps its tongue around prey enthralled by its scent to taste them, and then preys on them with its "Jameal", in which it spreads its petals wide. The Digimon that it preys upon are slowly digested and become its nourishment. Oleamon, who mingles with and lives among other Plant Digimon, is a very terrifying being to Insect Digimon that coexist in the same area.

  • Blade Below the Shoulder: One form its Leafred attack can take is a blade formed by joining the leaves that form its hands together.
  • Eyeless Face: It has mouth in the center of its petals and nothing else.
  • Flechette Storm: The other way it can use its Leafred attack is to fire the sharp leaves that form its hands.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: It uses one to taste its prey before eating them.
  • Plant Person: With more emphasis on the plant part of this trope. Though it has a roughly humanoid figure, it has an Eyeless Face in the center of its petals and hands made from hardened leaves that it can fire at will.
  • Poisonous Person: Its leaves are poisonous, making its Leafred attack particularly dangerous.

OmniShoutmon (OmegaShoutmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegashoutmon_b.jpg
Attacks: Heavy Metal Vulcan, Victorize Banking, Hard Rock Damashi, Beat Slash, Omega the Fusion

OmniShoutmon is a form obtained when Omegamon bestowed the legendary 'Evolution' upon a Shoutmon that released its boiling hot soul. In addition to its intense passion, it shines gold because its whole body is clad in the Omega InForce, a power received from Omegamon, and its build is become crisp and sharp. Because of the glittering and sharpness of its body, its enemies can only see OmniShoutmon's figure as an afterimage that cannot be pursued.

OmniShoutmon is Shoutmon's Ultimate form, and is the main partner to Taiki (Mikey) Kudo.

  • Chrome Champion: Because of the Omega InForce.
  • Draconic Humanoid: It has a humanoid body and retains Shoutmon's lizard-esque face.
  • Golden Super Mode: To the original Shoutmon and is stronger than all of its DigiXrossed forms.
  • Hot-Blooded: Shoutmon was already this, but the boost from the Omega InForce has amped it up to eleven, and all its attacks involve focusing that energy in different ways.
  • Lean and Mean: Far taller and thinner than Shoutmon.
  • Light 'em Up: It's so hot blooded it actually glows from its sheer burning passion.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Hard Rock Damashi" has it turning its energies into fire, then throwing them at its enemies.
  • Red Is Heroic: Some early promotional artwork for Xros Wars showed it with a mostly red color scheme similar to Shoutmon.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it an Ultimate. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.
  • Super-Speed: Moves fast enough that it can only be seen as an afterimage.
  • This Is a Drill: Its Beat Slash attack involves using its legs this way. The Xros Wars dub calls it "Doom Drillpress" as a result.

OmniShoutmon X (OmegaShoutmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegashoutmon_x_b.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster X Ver. 3
Attacks: Flare Rock Damashi, Heavy Heat Vulcan, Zeal Magnum

The red lines spread throughout its body are something that emerged when OmniShoutmon's fiercely boiling passion and the X-Antibody synchronized with each other.

  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Its arms have become swords. One of its attacks adds claws to them.
  • Fireballs: Its Heavy Heat Vulcan attack spams tiny fireballs that each have the power of Greymon's Mega Flame.
  • Playing with Fire: Heavy Heat Vulcan and Zeal Magnum are both ranged fire attacks.
  • Power Crystal: It has red ones on its armor to go with its Tron Lines. They look oddly similar to Alphamon's.
  • Took a Level in Badass: As with AxeKnightmon, the X-Antibody has caused OmniShoutmon to gain a level.
  • Tron Lines: It now has red ones on its limbs.
  • Wolverine Claws: Its Flare Rock Damashi attack generates crystalline ones at the ends of its arms, which are already plenty sharp on their own.

Orochimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/orochimon.png
Attacks: Ame no Murakumo, Sake Breath

A gigantic Demon Dragon Digimon which possesses eight heads. However, seven among its eight heads are dummies, and the black head in the middle is the only real one. The roots of Orochimon's creation are old, and although it was a being such that it raged in all its fury in the ancient Digital World, and drove some areas to devastation, it was sealed by the servant of a "being" which sought to preserve the harmony of the Digital World.

Ironically enough, it was a partner to one of the original Chosen Children in Digimon Adventure tri..

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its "Ame no Murakumo" where it makes the tip of its tail become as sharp as a sword and then cut up the opponent.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Sake Breath" where it makes the opponent completely drunk by intoxicating them with its alcohol-laden breath and "Spirytus Breath" is an upgraded version of Sake Breath, where it subjects high-concentration alcohol to high pressure, vaporizing and releasing it.
  • Cybernetic Mythical Beast: An interpretation of the Yamata no Orochi where the additional seven heads are robotic implants.
  • Dragons Are Demonic: A Demon Dragon Digimon that rampaged through the Digital World in ages past, destroying anything in its path.
  • Multiple Head Case: Subverted. It appears to have eight heads, but only one of them is real — the rest are mechanical replicas.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: This one is a demonic being that has an additional seven robotic heads and is described as having been a terrifying destroyer in ancient times.

Paildramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/paildramon_9.jpg
Attacks: Desperado Blaster

A Dragon Man Digimon which Jogress-evolved from ExVeemon and Stingmon. Its dragon-based elements are more pronounced, and it acquired impregnable defensive ability due to the power possessed by dragons and shell possessed by insects. It finishes off the opponent with its keen movements, even more so than with its power. Its loyalty is unwavering, and is even willing to lose its life for the sake of its master.

Paildramon is partnered to Daisuke (Davis) Motomiya and Ken Ichijouji.

  • Arm Cannon: Its "Desperado Blaster" fires energy waves from the two organic cannons hanging from its waist, like a machine-gun.
  • Fusion Dance: Of ExVeemon and Stingmon.
  • Retractable Weapon: Its "Esgrima" note  where it stabs or slashes with the extensible spears in its wrists and "Wire Punch" where it extends its fingers on cables that wrap around the opponent.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Elemental Bolt" combines the power of its two cannons, or joins its arms together, to fire a bolt of electricity.

Pajiramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Deva.

Pandamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pandamon2.jpg

A Puppet Digimon with the appearance of a panda. With its lack of expression and emotion, and blunt personality, it has no charm at all. Although it considers itself a lone wolf, it is thought that it is secretly jealous of the popular Monzaemon due to its similar appearance. However, since it is surprisingly powerful, meddlesome opponents will have the tables turned against them. Its population is small, so it is rarely seen.

A notable user of Pandamon is Yu Nogi.

  • Killer Teddy Bear
  • Having a Blast: Its "Sasa Punch" note  where it punches the foe, causing an explosion of leaves and "Unnanshou" note  summons Chinese firecrackers to blow up the opponent.
  • Wolverine Claws: Its "Animal Nail" slices the foe with claws hidden in its paws.

Parrotmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/parrotmon.jpg
Attacks: Mjölnir Thunder, Sonic Destroyer

A Giant Bird Digimon shaped like a parrot. A strange, mysterious bird that wandered from another Digital World through a space-time rift, the talons on its feet possess mighty power. As it is very highly intelligent and calm, it prefers not to battle, but once it is angered, it gets out of control.

Parrotmon made its first appearance as the main antagonist of the Digimon Adventure Pilot, where it did battle with Taichi's Greymon in Hikarigaoka before both were sent back to the Digital World.

  • Canon Immigrant: It debuted in the anime canon over a year before being made into an official card in the tabletop game. It then took another two years before it was included in the v-pets.
  • Feathered Fiend: While it prefers not to battle, once it is angered, it gets out of control.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Its "Sonic Destroyer" where it flys at the speed of sound, and mows down the enemy with a shock wave.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Mjolnir Thunder" where it charges blue electricity between the long feathery tufts on its head and fires a bolt of electricity.
  • Super-Speed: It can fly at the speed of sound, which it weaponizes with Sonic Destroyer.
  • Yellow Lightning, Blue Lightning: Blue for Mjolnir Thunder.

Phantomon (Fantomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/phantomon.png
Debut: Pendulum 3.0 Nightmare Soldiers
Attacks: Soul Chopper

A Reaper-like Digimon holding a gigantic sickle and chain. It is a higher class of Ghost Digimon compared to Bakemon, so when a person is possessed by Fantomon they are in their last moments, and it comes upon them when they die completely. There is a crystal shaped like an eyeball hanging from its neck, and similar to Mammon's crest, it is able to foresee everything with its power of clairvoyance, in order to perceive those that are close to death. It is said that the interior of the cloth which conceals its body leads to a separate dimension from the Digital World.

Notable tamers who have used Fantomon include Ren Tobari and Yu Nogi.

  • Casting a Shadow: Its "Shi no Senkoku" note  summons a magic circle of dark power that releases a skull, which itself shoots a dark fog at the enemy.
  • Deader than Dead: Its "Soul Chopper" where it cuts even the opponent's soul to pieces with its gigantic sickle and chain. Those who suffer this technique have their souls completely annihilated.
  • Grim Reaper: Its scythe, hood and undeath are all reminiscent of the figure of the reaper man.
  • King Mook: It's oftentimes depicted as a boss and evolved form to Bakemon, and its description even says it's a higher class in comparison. It even somewhat retains Bakemon's Bedsheet Ghost aesthetic if one looks closely enough.
  • In the Hood: Its face is covered by its dark red hood.
  • Sinister Scythe: Its weapon of choice.

Phelesmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/phelesmon.jpg
Debut: D-Scanner 3.0
Attacks: Demon's Shout, Black Statue

A Fallen Angel Digimon shaped like an aristocrat. In exchange for granting someone their desires, it is said that it will snatch away their soul. It is said that it is a Boogiemon that advanced and evolved, but the details are still uncertain.

One is in the possession of Tagiru Akashi. Another is the villain of the first arc of Digimon Dreamers.

  • Big Red Devil: Like Boogiemon, Phelesmon has red-skin, red on its clothing and its wings have a red underside.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Digimon Dreamers renders its name as "Feresmon".
  • Devil's Pitchfork: It carries a bright red, stylized pitchfork with conical tips.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Its "Demon's Shout" where it attacks with a scream that drives the enemy mad.
  • Mephistopheles: Phelesmon is based on the Faustian demon, taking the form of Big Red Devil who is said to snatch away a person's soul in exchange for granting their desires.
  • Taken for Granite: Its "Black Statue" turns the opponent into a black stone statue.

Piranimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/piranimon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum Z
Attacks: Cruel Invite, Calamity Vise

A ferocious Digimon that acts in large schools. The exoskeleton covering its head amplifies the power of its jaws so that it can reliably bring down the enemy with its sharp fangs. That power is said to be equivalent to the force of a Mammothon trampling with its feet.

  • Hooks and Crooks: Its tail is shaped like a fishhook and is used to impale prey to drag into the water.
  • Piranha Problem: They attack in large schools and attack by biting.

Pistmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pistmon.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digital Monster
Attacks: Bramble Shot, Crimson Spores, Killing Cadence

A Plant Digimon that evolved via a training program used by road racers. Its bicycle-like wheels and body are fully integrated with each other, and it has a remarkable sense of balance that allows it to stand still even when it is not running. Its thorny vines, which act as tires, are capable of changing shape, allowing it to run across even rough roads speedily without going flat.

  • Cool Bike: It rides a "bike" that is integrated with it.
  • More Dakka: Its Bramble Shot attack fires thorns from its handles in a variation of this.
  • Plant Person: From the waist up, anyway. From the waist down, it's a plant bicycle.
  • Poisonous Person: It can emit poisonous spores from its back.

Piximon (Piccolomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/piccolomon.png
Debut: Digital Monster Ver. 4
Attacks: Bit Bomb, Fairy Tale, Pic Trick, Transfer

A Fairy Digimon that is fluent in magic. It can recite the advanced programming language of another dimension, allowing it to generate miracles with the appearance of magic. This miraculous Digimon is able to pop up in every place, time, and space, and although its body is small, it can seal away the enemy's abilities with its own special ability, and then pulverize the opponent with a mighty blow. With its mischief-loving personality, it enjoys making computers run wild with its cherished spear, "Fairy Tale", that it always holds in its hands (although it has no ill intent). Despite its appearance, it uses terrifying attacks.

  • Cephalothorax: A flying one. Piximon has no body to speak of — its legs, arms and wings sprout directly from its head.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: The official translation is "Picklemon". Piccolo cannot be translated to Pickle, and the Digimon is not a pickle.
  • Clarke's Third Law: Piximon's magic isn't really magic — its abilities are based on its knowledge of an extradimensional programming language, allowing to manipulate the digital world in a way that seems like magic. Which is actually how magic works in Digimon.
  • Good Is Not Nice: It may be a Vaccine type, but it's also a bit of a troublemaker that sometimes loves making computers malfunction.
  • Our Pixies Are Different: In this case, they're small, flying pink orb creatures with fairy wings and magic abilities based on rewriting the coding of Cyberspace.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Possibly one of the most notable examples in the franchise. Piccolomon is comparable in size to the In-Training Tokomon, and yet it's an exceptionally powerful Ultimate level.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Its "Bit Bomb" conjures up a flying bomb shaped like a bat made from a computer virus.

Pumpkinmon (Pumpmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pumpkinmon.png

A plush toy Digimon with a pumpkin head. There's an urban legend that says Pumpkinmon came to be when mutations developed in a computer virus created during the season of the Western holiday of "Halloween". However, though it doesn't inflict any harm at all because it was not a malignant virus, its external appearance belies its possession of powerful offensive ability. As you can tell even from looking at its blank face, a rare expression of emotions is characteristic of Puppet Digimon.

  • Combo Platter Powers: Its "Surprise" where it headbutts the enemy with the ax in its head, surprises them with a shout, or summons an exploding pumpkin.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: Due to being a jack-o-lantern.
  • Green Thumb: Its "Trick or Treat" manifests a gigantic pumpkin in the air to squash the opponent with it afterwards.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: It's a cute little monster with a pumpkin for a head, and it's an Ultimate level. The one seen in Adventure is about the same size as the Rookie level Gotsumon.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Jack O' Lantern" conjures a stream of fire.
  • Pumpkin Person: A humanoid Digimon with a jack-o-lantern, completed with an axe embedded in it, for a head. This is apparently due to it having incorporated data on Halloween into its being.

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Legend-Arms.

Rapidmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rapidmon.jpg

A Cyborg Digimon, evolved from Galgomon. It holds the alias of "Keen Hound", and it reliably brings down the opponent with movements near the speed of light. Also, it freely uses its gigantic ears as radar, can act even in the dark, and is also able to detect the existence of distant enemies. The silhouette of its body makes you think of a shaved poodle. During battle its neck protector shuts.

Rapidmon is the Ultimate level of Terriermon, and is partnered to Jianliang Lee (Henry Wong) and Makiko Date.

  • Arm Cannon: Its "Rapid Fire" where it rapid-fires homing missiles from its arms and the revolver on its back.
  • Combination Attack: Its "Trinity Burst" is a joint attack with WarGrowlmon and Taomon in which they transform into streams of light that combine into one and pierce the enemy.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Its "Homing Missile" shoots homing missiles from the revolver on its back.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Its "Golden Triangle" fires a green triangular beam from its whole body that completely disassembles the enemy's data.
  • Red Baron: Holds the alias "Keen Hound".

RareRaremon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rareraremon.jpg

The Perfect of Raremon who has survived the advanced decay of its body through further mechanization and has taken on a bizarre appearance. Its body repeatedly breaks down and takes shape, and eyes and mouths keep emerging and decaying. The foul stench it gives off from its body has increased so much that even Megas have difficulty approaching it.

  • Body Horror: Raremon was already unpleasant to look at, being a decaying cyborg blob monster. RareRaremon is even worse, a deformed horror with multiple body parts in places they shouldn't be, while still rotting, because the cybernetics in it just won't let it die.
  • Evil Smells Bad: Smells exactly as horrific as you might expect a gargantuan undead monstrosity to.
  • Extra Eyes: Has at least eleven eyes on its main head, along with others growing randomly on the rest of its body.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: It's got eyes all over its main mouth.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Survives (for a generous definition of "survival") by eating other Digimon and dissolving them.
  • Poisonous Person: Its "Decaysion" attack has it spew toxic gas from its many mouths. Any Digimon who inhales the gas dies instantly.

Reapmon (Baalmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baalmon_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Gultish, Kamiuchi

As an enlightened Digimon that excels in all knowledge, it is called the "Sublime Lord". According to one theory, it is surely another form of a certain Demon Lord Digimon. It is said that in exchange for the reader's soul, it will grant one page of information from the "Red Book of Appin", which records all of its knowledge. Although Reapmon will answer any kind of question, it always inflicts an ordeal for the answer. If that ordeal is not surmounted, then it will not give the requested answer, and will snatch away your soul. Its mantle is covered in amulets from all times and places, and it is said that on those amulets are written solutions for every problem, so that with that wealth of information it is able to completely defend against every kind of attack.

Reapmon is the Ultimate form of Beelzebumon (2010 Anime Version). As of the Digimon Tamers anniversary event, it is also the true Ultimate form of Digimon Tamers' Impmon.

  • Chained by Fashion: The Red Book of Appin is kept secured to it via a chain wrapped around its torso.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Is prepared for any kind of attack, thanks to its many, many amulets.
  • Deal with the Devil: Reapmon will give anyone its knowledge, in exchange for their soul.
  • Expy: Looks amazingly like a halfway point between a Wizardmon and a Beelzebumon. One game even acknowledges this by saying Reapmon is Wizardmon's evolution.
  • Foreshadowing: That Demon Lord it's another form of is Beelzebumon.
  • Great Big Book of Everything: The Red Book of Appin. Would count as a Tome of Eldritch Lore, but the real threat is from it's owner. The book itself is by all accounts harmless.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Reapmon has hair poking out from under his hat which obscures his eyes.
  • Man of Kryptonite: Kamiuchi is especially effective against Holy-species Digimon.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: What Kamiuchi is. It even means "God Beating".
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it an Ultimate. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.
  • Too Many Belts: Its right arm sleeve is wrapped in dozens of them.

Reapmon X (Baalmon X-Antibody)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baalmon_x.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Reference Book
Attacks: Turi Blast, Zai-Kamiuchi, Absomark

Some of the power within it that had been supressed by its amulets has been released due to the effect of the X-Antibody. The "Red Book of Appin" has grown a will of its own, and should those seeking knowledge answer incorrectly, the book will cast judgement on them before its owner.

Rebellimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rebellimon.jpg

A Cyborg Digimon equipped with a high-powered engine. It is said to have evolved from a Digimon driven to the brink of death by taking in the junk data around it. It is an outlaw who loots parts from other Machine Digimon in order to further strengthen and remodel its body, which is made out of junk. Occasionally, it has been witnessed roaring noisily around with large gangs of Machmon. Its Special Moves are firing a large quantity of missiles from its left arm (Vanquish Missile), and pulverizing the enemy's body as it minces them with the heavy machinery on its right arm (Maximum Demolisher).

  • All Bikers are Hells Angels: A Digimon that looks like a mix between Ogremon and a motorcycle wheel, and it's not exactly a nice guy.
  • Arm Cannon: The missile launcher in its left arm.
  • Bad Boss: It leads a gang of Machmon and Tankmon in wastelands and slays its own underlings for spare parts.
  • Chainsaw Good: A variant — it has a giant buzzsaw for a hand.
  • Delinquent Hair: Sports an orange mohawk now.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Only the top half is still organic.
  • Meaningful Name: Word of God says his name is both a reference to Rebel Without a Cause and is symbolic of an Ogremon whose fighting spirit let it "rebel from death".
  • Recurring Element: Ogremon's Ultimate/Perfect form — 20 years after the original's debut and the only level Ogremon hasn't had since Titamon was introduced. Rebellimon's in-production nickname was simply "Metal Ogremon".
  • We Can Rebuild Him: An Ogremon that nearly died but survived by absorbing scrap from Tankmon and Machmon.

Regulusmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/regulusmon_6.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet BE
Attacks: Kalyp Bite, Genierce, Dead-End Spike, Gran Trace

An Evil Dragon Digimon that intends to rule through rage and fear. Despite being a Perfect-level, it boasts a power that is reminiscent of Megidramon, one of the Four Great Dragons Digimon who is considered to be the most evil, and so Regulusmon's arrival is nothing but a disaster. Its body is the source of an infection known as "GRB" (Gulus Realm Burst), and it is said that Digimon infected with "GRB Factor" have their personalities altered and become frenzied. However, the infection has not been confirmed in Digimon that have had the secretion "Black Digitron", which is said to be the primary cause of Digimon turning black, mixed in with them.

Regulusmon evolves from GulusGammamon, continuing Gammamon's dark evolution line, and is briefly partnered to Hiro Amanokawa.

  • Almighty Janitor: Similar to Lucemon's various forms, despite being "just" an Ultimate, its power is reminiscent of Megidramon, and it can easily slaughter even Mega-level Digimon as shown in Ghost Game.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its Dead-End Spike has it spear enemies on the twin spikes on its tail.
  • Breath Weapon: Its Gran Trace is a blast of all-destroying Hellfire from its mouth.
  • Cape Wings: GulusGammamon's cape now permanently forms a second pair of wings.
  • Energy Weapon: Its Genias is a set of three lasers fired from its shield.
  • Evil Counterpart: It's GulusGammamon's answer to Canoweissmon.
  • Hate Plague: It secretes the GRB Factor, an infection that causes other Digimon to go berserk.
  • Hellfire: Its Gran Trace is a Breath Weapon that uses the stuff to completely erase all matter and light in its path.
  • One Curse Limit: The GRB factor can't infect Digimon already affected by Black Digitron.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Regulusmon has similar purple highlights to GulusGammamon and has power on par with some Olympus Mons despite its lower level.
  • Stellar Name: Like all of Gammamon's evolutions, it keeps the space theme. Like its pre-evolution, it is named after Regulus, the brightest star in Leo. Its first two attacks are named after the dark asteroids 53 Kalypso and 112 Iphigenia. Its Gran Trace references a now-defuct solar observation program and English materials change the name to Gran TrES in reference to a now-defunt exoplanet survey and the five exoplanets it found. Finally, its GRB Factor references gamma-ray bursts, the most energetic events in the universe.

RizeGreymon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rizegreymon.jpg

A Cyborg Digimon that has mechanized over half of its body. In spite of its large build, it flies to the sky to attack the enemy. The offensive power of the shots fired from the gigantic revolver on its left arm is said to rival that of a single nuclear warhead, and it is normally impossible to rapid-fire due to its tremendous power and recoil. In order to withstand that power, its gun barrel is made from Chrome Digizoid.

RizeGreymon is the main Ultimate form of the 2006 version of Agumon, but has also recently become associated with the regular Agumon line. It's partnered to Masaru Daimon (Marcus Damon), Tsurugi Tatsuno, Koh, Yuuko Kamishiro, and the unnamed rival tamer in the live-action Digimon Project 2021.

  • Arm Cannon: Where the cannon is question is a...
  • BFG: Its "Trident Revolver" where it rapidly fires three rounds from its revolver and its "Crack Bullet" fires a barrier-piercing bullet in the shape of a key.
  • Chest Blaster: Its "Rising Destroyer" fires beams from its chest-mounted gun-ports and the beam cannons on its wings.
  • Flight: It has mechanical wings that let it fly.
  • Pistol-Whipping: Its "Barrel Smash" where it attacks with its Chrome Digizoid gun barrel, "Barrel Blow" is a stronger version of Barrel Smash, "Heavy Barrel" where it uses the barrel to strike the enemy with all its might and "Solid Strike" where it knocks an enemy out by hitting them with the revolver.
  • Recurring Element: It's a cybernetic, Ultimate-level version of GeoGreymon with a mechanical arm-mounted weapon and metallic wings, similar to how MetalGreymon was this to the regular Greymon, and it's presented as the featured Ultimate level of a species of Agumon.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: It's favored weapons, only that it's huge and attached to his arm, rather just being held.
  • Rule of Three: One of its techniques, "Trident Revolver", involves shooting thrice in rapid succession. Which is because that is the limit of the Chrome Digizoid's endurance.

RizeGreymon X (RizeGreymon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rizegreymonx.jpg

The Crest of the Sun shines and overflows with so much energy that it spurts out from all over its body. The claws on its hands and feet have become beam blades that utilize that energy, and it can quickly use them in close combat.

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Its "Zan Thrust" note  is a slash technique that has extraordinary sharpness.
  • Arm Cannon: Its "Sunrise Buster" charges energy to its maximum, and fires it from the Trident Revolver.

RookChessmon (Black)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rookchessmon.jpg

A Digimon which has an appearance like a fortress which boasts impregnable defense. Although it's a gigantic Digimon it is very fast, and it defends against the opponent's strikes, then attacks. Its catchphrase is, "The opponent is nothing after me!" Its Special Move is charging the opponent as it stands at attention, mowing them down and destroying them (Stronghold). Also, it can use a stubborn, immovable, steadfast defense (Castle Wall).

RookChessmon (Black) is partnered to Miki Kurosaki.

  • Arm Cannon: Its "Rook Gatling" where it fires from the gunports on its arms.
  • Chess Motif: It is based on the Rook/Castle piece in chess.
  • Evil Wears Black: Averted. Both colors of the entire Chessmon family are of the Virus Attribute.

RookChessmon (White)

Since RookChessmon and BishopChessmon appeared in Digimon Data Squad only in black and white colors respectively, and a black BishopChessmon appeared in Digimon Fusion, there has to be a white RookChessmon somewhere.

  • The Ghost: The only mention of it is as a pre-evolution on one of KingChessmon's card in the Japanese Card Game Alpha. No other references to it exist anywhere in the franchise, not even a card in the same game.

Sagomon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sagomon.jpg

A Demon Man Digimon that was banished from the Digital World's heaven, and fell to the backwoods of North Bridge Island. Although it usually has a cheerful, joke-cracking personality, if it touches the skulls wrapped around its waist it goes into a fury like a raging fire. That is because if even one of the nine skulls wrapped around its waist is lost it will be transformed into a terrifying Digimon. It is troubled by worrying, "What am I?", so it went on a journey to discover the answer.

One is owned by Tagiru Akashi.

  • Palette Swap: Of Swajuinmon. They even share the same backstory (being kicked out of Heaven for misbehaving), and attributes.
  • Unstoppable Rage: It goes into one if someone touches one of the skulls on its belt, but is a pretty nice guy otherwise.

Sandiramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Deva.

Sanzomon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sanzomon.jpg

A Monk Digimon that is journeying around the Digital World in order to achieve enlightenment. It overcomes many difficult ordeals, and as training it imposes asceticism on its own body, day and night. Although Sanzomon doesn't carry any weapons at all, it unleashes various techniques by reciting sutras. The purified energy necessary to achieve enlightenment is accumulated in Sanzomon's Digicore, and it's rumored that if you steal this then you will be released from every injury or terminal disease and acquire immortality, which draws in Digimon that are impelled by greed, and those chasing after it are numerous. However, enemies are not the only ones who are drawn to Sanzomon, as there are also troubled Digimon with their own various issues. It is said that among those, there are also Digimon searching for answers and truth that adore Sanzomon and journey along with it.

SaviorHackmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saviorhackmon.jpg

It evolved into this form after repeatedly meeting and parting with Digimon over its long journey, and living through countless fierce battles. It militarily intervenes in the strife that occurs incessantly throughout the Digital World, seeking ceasefires, and has brought aid to the Digimon on-site who have suffered harm. The result is not always a success, but the tears Savior Hackmon sheds before those tragic scenes strengthen it further, as it earnestly reaches out to the next Digimon that cries for help. It is capable of using its legs to walk bipedally despite them being blades; in addition, crimson blades extend from both of its arms and its tail, and its blade-covered body exudes an aggressive air. The crystal in its chest is a crystallisation of proof that it refined its power with no lack of effort.

  • Badass Cape: Carried over from its other forms.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its "Trident Saber" assaults the enemy with the three red blades equipped to its tail and arms, relentlessly cleaving them apart whether they're swathed in Chrome Digizoid or not.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: It has red blades on its arms.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: The official translation is "Savior Huckmon". This is incorrect as the name is dervied from "Hakku".
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Meteor Flame" where it rapid-fires fire shots from its mouth like a machine gun, burning the enemy to cinders.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: It has blades for legs. Its "Resist Raid" where it skewers through the enemy from a flying kick posture with the blades on its feet.

Scorpiomon (Anomalocarimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scorpiomon.png

A computer virus infected the databanks of a laboratory where the investigations and excavations of ancient life forms is performed, and took in the data of an ancient life form and evolved. It became like the life form which in ancient times was the apex of the food chain, which had a great appetite and supplied it with an ability capable of allowing it to see food that was of the finest quality. Skillfully using the tentacles that grow from its head, it catches the enemy and kills them with the sharp blade that grows from its tail. When the progression of a fight becomes disadvantageous, it uses its sharp tentacles to hoist up the soil of the seabed to hide its body. The radar eye that projects from its head captures the enemy like a night vision scope, watching for the chance to create a turnabout.

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its "Tail Blade" where it stabs the enemy with the blade on its tail like a scorpion.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Its "Suna Shower" shoots a stream of sand from its mouth that puts enemies to sleep.
  • Extra Eyes: It has a pair of compound eyes above its regular eyes.
  • Making a Splash: Its "Titanic Wave" where it causes a rainstorm and blasts the enemy with water.
  • Mix-and-Match Critter: An Anomalocaris with a scorpion's stinger tail — the real Anomalocaris' tail was more fan-shaped — hence its English name.
  • One-Steve Limit: "Scorpiomon" belongs to a completely different Digimon in Japanese, who in turn is named SkullScorpionmon to compensate.

Scorpiomon X (Anomalocarimon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anomalocarimonx.jpg
Having survived in the intensely competitive Net Ocean since ancient times, Scorpiomon took in all the elements within the ocean into its carapace and acquired its camouflage ability "Ghost Surprise", which is considered to be a form of active camouflage. Despite losing that ability on land, it is difficult to see Scorpiomon while underwater, leading to it possessing the terrifying ability to attack while also being invisible to other Digimon.

ShadowWereGarurumon (WereGarurumon (Black)/BlackWereGarurumon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/weregarurumon_black.jpg

It possesses white wings on its body, which shines silver, and according to one theory it is an Angel Digimon which descended to the ancient Digital World. It can rotate its neck and torso 360°, allowing it to attack facing every direction. As its face is expressionless it is difficult to determine what it's thinking, so some observers find it eerie, but its personality is exceedingly gentle.

Shakkoumon is partnered to Iori (Cody) Hida and Takeru (T.K.) Takaishi.

  • Deadly Disc: Its "Nigimitama" note  shoots exploding clay disks at the enemy from its waist.
  • Eye Beams: Its "Aramitama" note  is a red laser beam radiated from both of its eyes, and it is said that this beam can reach 100000°C note  at its focal point.

  • Gold and White Are Divine: Par for the course for Digimon's angels.
  • Living Statue: It's a clay dogū statue with holy attributes.

  • Kappa: Based on Sha Wujing, who is often depicted as a Kappa in Japanese media.
  • Making a Splash: Its "Kouyoujou: Kamon no Jin" note  where it freely spins its staff forming waterspouts and "Kouyoujou: Taki no Jin" note  where it crushes its staff into the ground releasing raging streams of water.

ShogunGekomon (TonosamaGekomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tonosamagekomon.jpg

An upgraded version of Gekomon with an antenna resembling the chonmage of a feudal lord. The upgrade is said to have first occurred in a karaoke grading system. It plays a melody from the two horns extending from its shoulders, and its singing voice, which is several octaves below that of Gekomon's, imparts a feeling of a lordly air of superiority (?).

One is owned by Ren Tobari.

  • King Mook: To Gekomon — it's a bigger, stronger Gekomon named after Japanese feudal rulers.
  • Meaningful Name: Tonosama 「殿様(トノサマ)」 means "feudal lord". Tonosama is also a pun on tonosamagaeru 「殿様蛙(トノサマガエル)」 meaning "black-spotted frog" (Rana nigromaculata). Geko comes from gekogeko 「ゲコゲコ」, onomatopoeia for the sound a frog makes. A shōgun (将軍) was the highest-ranking noble in Feudal Japan, i.e general.
  • Musical Assassin: Its "Kobushi Tone" note  where it causes the enemy's configuration data to vibrate using the ultra-low frequency waves from its vocals and horns, destroying them. However, depending on the opponent, their physical condition may end up improving due to the low frequency waves. Also, its "Crush Symphony" destroys the opponent from the inside through super-high frequency oscillations.

Shootmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shootmon.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digital Monster
Attacks: Cannon Ball Shooter, Wild Pitch, Round Jail

A Machine Digimon that has evolved based on data from various ball games around the world. With a cannon that can shoot all kinds of balls in one hand, he is planning to spread ball games throughout the digital world. The nickname given to them by Digimon who are afraid of Shootmon is "Laughing Demon Coach" because they approach with a smile that does not change whether they are angry or happy.

Shoutmon X4B

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoutmon_x4b_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Stars' Blade Celestrike, Chaos Flare, Burning Star Crusher, Three Victorize

The "Divine-Horse Mode" formed when Beelzebumon granted further power to the "Victory Mode" which incarnated from four Digimon. It is a speedy knight who, if it wonders if it can run across the land like a swift horse, will gallop to the heavens as if it was sprinting. Because Beelzebumon's power has added to the power of the "Victory Mode", each of its techniques has been boosted exponentially.

Even though it is a variation of Shoutmon X4, it is considered an Ultimate level unlike the Champion X4 and is listed here as a result.

  • BFG: Beelzebumon's cannon has gotten even stronger, to the extent that it can now pierce mountain ranges.
  • Chest Blaster: It still has Shoutmon X3's Three Victorize, but not X4's Max Power version. The center cannon that it uses for Chaos Flare is also technically this for its quadrupedal half.
  • Gatling Good: Has a minigun on its left hip.
  • Lightning Bruiser: The legs added from Beelzebumon granted a massive speed boost to the already powerful Shoutmon X4.
  • More Dakka: Has no less than three different guns at its disposal, and is capable of using all three at once.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: This one's fully mechanical and wielding multiple guns.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it an Ultimate. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Beelzebumon's shotgun is still there opposite the minigun.
  • Technicolor Blade: Red, as with the standard X4.
  • Unusual Weapon Mounting: Beelzebumon's guns are on its hips.

Shoutmon X4K (Shoutmon X4 Knight)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoutmonx4k.jpg

The "Knight Mode" in which Knightmon and the Pawn Chessmons granted impregnable defensive power and offensive power to the "Victory Mode" which incarnated from four Digimon. It wears a cape depicting the Crest symbolizing hope, and is equipped with a greatsword which combines Knightmon's "Berserk Sword" with the Star Sword, and a shield designed after the "Xros Heart" army logo.

  • Badass Cape: Has acquired one from Knightmon.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: It still has Dorulumon's tail, only with a PawnChessmon's spear at the end instead of a drill.
  • BFS: The Starmon that usually forms the hilt of the Star Sword has merged with Knightmon's greatsword.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: It now has a more knightly appearance due to Xrossing with Knightmon.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Has also acquired a shield with the Xros Heart insignia.
  • Monster Knight: A knight made from several different monsters, including Knightmon.
  • Named Weapons: Averted for the sword despite it being combined from Shoutmon's Star Sword and Knightmon's Berserk Sword.
  • Retcon: In 2021, the Digimon Reference Book made it an Ultimate like X4B and X5 before it.
  • Technicolor Blade: Orange and gold, carrying over from Knightmon.

Shoutmon X5

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoutmon_x5_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Meteor Buster Attack, Meteor Impact, Burning Star Crusher, Three Victorize, Impact Laser

  • Chest Blaster: It still has Shoutmon X3's Three Victorize.
  • Colony Drop: Capable of doing this with its own body.
  • Cool Crown: Acquired from Sparrowmon.
  • Flight: It can fly now, thanks to Sparrowmon.
  • Megaton Punch: Its "Meteor Impact" has it summon all its power into its arm, then unleashing it in the form of one big-ass punch.
  • Retcon: Like X4B, it has been made into an Ultimate.
  • Technicolor Blade: As with X4, the star sword is sometimes depicted as being red.

Silphymon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/silphymon_0.jpg

A Beast Man Digimon which Jogress-evolved from Aquilamon and Tailmon. It possesses tenacious leg strength, and its leaping power is said to reach great heights. Also, it is able to fly about by spreading both of its arms and soaring like a glider after leaping high into the sky. Because it processes the information detected by the radar on its ears as images, and transmits it to the head-mounted display equipped to its head, it is able to accurately find the opponent regardless of day and night.

Silphymon is partnered to Miyako (Yolei) Inoue and Hikari Yagami (Kari Kamiya).

  • Bird People: It has bird-like limbs.

Sinduramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Deva.

Sirenmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sirenmon.jpg

A God Man Digimon which has an outward appearance like a blending of bird and fish. Its personality is cheerful, and it is always singing pleasant songs throughout the skies and seas. Its voice has a miraculously sweet sound and actually has an eight octave range from very high notes to very low notes, and it brings tranquility even to devastated battlefields with its singing voice. It is said that by healing its listeners and performing good deeds, it will continue on to a shining evolution. It is able to sing in three different notes, each having different effects applicable to afflicting its opponents in various ways. These notes are said to have the marvellous trait of ricocheting to always strike their targets, even separate enemies. Each technique also has the characteristic of increasing in power if there are others singing alongside Sirenmon, corresponding to their quantity. Even the weak gain great power by singing in chorus with Sirenmon.

  • Musical Assassin: It's "No.1<<Polyphony>>" where it Sings a song in a high soprano, whose notes suffuse the listener's heart and numb their free will, leaving them at Sirenmon's mercy, No.2<<Aria>> where it Sings a solemn song in a low bass, which becomes a deep bass frequency wave that flattens the enemy through their semicircular canals, so that they are unable to even stand and No.3<<Canon>> where it attacks the enemy using its singing voice as note-shaped shots, which are said to have the marvellous trait of ricocheting to always strike their targets, even separate enemies.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: The Sirens were dangerous yet beautiful island-dwelling creatures of Greek myth, which wrecked ships by luring their crews toward the rocks with their singing. Traditionally depicted as bird-women, their dwelling on rocky coasts has led to a contemporary confusion with mermaids, and both of these depictions are alluded to in Seirenmon's design.

SkullBaluchimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skullbaluchimon.jpg

A gigantic Undead Digimon reproduced from the data of several counterfeit fossils, which were in the data of a fossil of what was thought to be the largest land mammal. It has no emotions or intelligence, and because its body operates by reflex with only the data of the nerves laid out within its body, it keeps mercilessly attacking until it can no longer move. It is said that it will plunge any Digimon into the terror of death, either from the curse which forcibly revived it from the data of its corpse, or the cold black vapors which flow unceasingly from its Digicore. Its Special Move is imprisoning the opponent in the space within its cold black vapors, then chasing them eternally until they die (Deadly Fear).

  • Dem Bones: A skeletal version of Baluchitherium, an extinct rhinoceros-like mammal which is the largest known land mammal.
  • Fossil Revival: Played with. It's made from the data of "Counterfeit" fossils, which is especially evident when looking at the "original" Baluchimon note  who has a clearly incongruent skeletal structure.
  • Glowing Eyelights of Undeath: Its empty eye sockets glow with red light.
  • Hammered into the Ground: Its "Grave Bone" tramples the opponent with its giant feet, burying them underground.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Its has red "eyes" and it will keep mercilessly attacking until it can no longer move.

SkullGreymon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skullgreymon.png

A Skeleton Digimon whose whole body has become nothing but bones. It was a Digimon that put too much importance on fighting, and as a result of its combat instinct it clung to life despite its body rotting away, becoming SkullGreymon. As SkullGreymon doesn't have even a scrap of intelligence to balance its combat instinct, its existence is a threat to other Digimon.

It's usually obtained in most media through forcing a Digimon to evolve. This happened to Taichi's Agumon and Kouta's Guilmon.

SkullMeramon (DeathMeramon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deathmeramon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum Ver 3.0 Nightmare Soldiers
Attacks: Heavy Metal Fire, Heat Chain, Heat Chain Midareuchi

An evolution of Meramon, this Digimon's body is cloaked in blue, high-temperature flames. The flames that arise from its body blaze brightly in blue, as these flames burn hotter than Meramon's. Its offensive and defensive abilities have risen considerably, which in conjunction with the strength of its flames, bestow upon this power-type Digimon tremendous destructive power. Although Flame Digimon tend to be weak against Aquatic and Ice-Snow type Digimon, fighting the strength of Death Meramon's flames with them is as futile as pouring water on a hot stone.

According to the D-Power line, this is the Ultimate level of Ai and Makoto (Mako)'s Impmon, though this appears to be phased out by the Vital Bracelet which instead uses Reapmon. It is also used by Jimmy KEN.

  • Chain Pain: Its "Heat Chain" where it attacks foe with a flaming metal chain and Heat Chain Midareuchi note  manipulates flaming chains to attack multiple opponents.
  • Hot Paint Job: Its pants have flame designs.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Heavy Metal Fire" melts the heavy metal within its body, and spits it out at the enemy.
  • Shout-Out: SkullMeramon design is a reference to Ghost Rider, a hero from Marvel Comics that's also covered in flames and fights with a metal chain.
  • Technicolor Fire: Blue flames, to signify how much hotter it is than Meramon.

SkullScorpionmon (Scorpiomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scorpiomon_1.jpg

An Insect Digimon referred to as the "Assassin of the Desert". It sneaks up from behind the opponent while hiding its presence, and pierces the opponent with the venomous stinger at the tip of its tail. The venom that SkullScorpiomon carries acts faster than the transmission speed of nerve data, killing the opponent before they even realize that they have been stung. It is referred to as an assassin for this reason, since its opponent will not even know of its existence.

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its "Poison Pierce" where it stings an enemy with extreme poison from its tail.
  • Dub Induced Plothole: Despite being named SkullScorpionmon in English, it has nothing to do with Scorpiomon; the Digimon we know as Scorpiomon is named Anomalocarimon in Japan, while SkullScorpiomon is just Scorpiomon. One is a sea creature while the other dwells in the desert.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Its early dub name was "SkullScorpiomon", and it's named "Scorpionmon" in Digimon Fusion Fighters.
  • One-Steve Limit: It's known as Scorpiomon in Japan, but the Digimon named Anomalocarimon already took it in the English-speaking market. As a result, it's called SkullScorpionmon overseas due to its more skeletal appearance.
  • Poisonous Person: Its "Blackout" blinds the opponent's by disseminating a slightly poisonous mist.
  • Scary Scorpions: A digimon that looks like a skeletal scorpion referred to as the "Assassin of the Desert".

SkullSatamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skullsatamon.jpg

The ruined, remnant form of what was once a Fallen Angel Digimon that fell into the Dark Area, pursuing strength and destruction. However, its wickedness was refined even more, so that its dark powers are unfathomable. Its Digicore, concentrated with mighty powers of darkness, is the characteristic of Demon-species Digimon called the "Darkcore".

Notable users of SkullSatamon include Neo Saiba and K, and one was a member of the Demon Corps.

  • Dem Bones: Its "Nail Bone" fires a powerful light from the jewel at the end of its staff to disrupt and obliterate the opponent's data.
  • Our Demons Are Different: An undead demon.
  • Retcon: Was originally considered Mega Level in Digimon Adventure: Anode/Cathode Tamer. Its appearance in Digimon Adventure 02 appears to have been based on this idea as, despite still being listed as an Ultimate, it curb-stomped each of the Digidestined's Ultimate levels and Imperialdramon Dragon Mode with ease, only ever losing to Imperialdramon Fighter Mode.

Soloogarmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soloogarmon.jpg
A Digimon that succeeded in controlling the sinister magic data of the mythical warg, which slept within the deepest parts of its Digicore. Program code written in a special language lines the inside of the armor that covers its whole body, suppressing its enormous amount of magical power, which has transformed into raging magical flames, as if it were sealed magic. Soloogarmon is able to freely manipulate the magical flames by modifying the program code, and these manipulated flames can be utilized for all kinds of actions, such as attacking, moving, and posture control.

Soloogarmon is a potential Ultimate level for Loogamon.
  • Evil Counterpart: As with all the Loogamon line, it's one to the Dorumon and Ryudamon lines. In the case, to Grademon and Hisyaryumon.
  • Foil: To its co-evolution Helloogarmon, having a fine control over its powers that Helloogarmon completely lacks.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Soloogarmon can now use the fire within it as a rocket booster.
  • Playing with Fire: All three of its attacks have it manipulate the magical fire coming from its shoulders.
  • Power Limiter: The code on its armor helps keep its power contained, while also allowing Soloogarmon to control it.
  • Recurring Element: The canine to Grademon and Hisyaryumon's dragons, and a Wolf Man Digimon in the vein of WereGarurumon.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Its name references Sól, the Norse sun goddess, as well as Garmr, the underworlds guard dog. Like the rest of its evolution line, its name also references the loup garou of French folklore.
  • Savage Wolves: As with all its evolutionary line, it's a vicious wolf Digimon.
  • Wolf Man: It is the sole humanoid member of a fully canine evolution line.

Splashmon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the Big Death-Stars.

Stefilmon (Stiffilmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stiffilmon_7.jpg

Even among Filmon, only a small fraction of those who have tempered their quills to the extreme can achieve evolution into this Perfect level Digimon. The fur covering its entire body is said to possess hardness rivaling that of Red Digizoid, and serves as a weapon that boasts unparalleled offensive power, acting as a shield that protects its body from harm. The "Hurricane Knuckles" it wields in both hands are its prided weapons, made from compressing its own shed fur to ultra-high density. It dreams of the day that it can finally face Were Garurumon, who it views as its rival, and so it trains diligently every day.

  • Too Many Belts: Carrying over from its previous evolution, it wears a number of belts around its torso and left arm.
  • Wolverine Claws: Its "Hurricane Knuckles" are spiked gauntlets.

SuperStarmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/superstarmon.png

The space warrior Starmon turned into this Perfect level Mutant Digimon. It raised its self-satisfaction and clothed itself in a flashy outfit, making its debut as a star. Although it means to use its sunglasses as a disguise to conceal its superstar identity, they do not help at all.

A notable partner of SuperStarmon is Gorou Matayoshi. Another is in the possession of Yuu Amano.

  • Cephalothorax: Its limbs are attached to its main body, which is also its face.
  • Cool Shades: Wears these as a disguise. Not that they actually help.
  • Elemental Punch: Its "Super Upper" where it attacks with an uppercut and "Superstar Upper" where it attacks with a starry uppercut.

Taomon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taomon.jpg

Versed in Onmyoudou, it is an onmyouji Digimon that freely uses every technique in battle. Its faculty with magic is particularly high, and attacks with talismans and spells are its forte. Also, it is a master of concealed weapons, and hides various weapons up its sleeves. It doesn't talk very much due to its extreme reticence, and it is a being that lives and lurks within the darkness. Also, it is able to turn its talismans into shikigami and command them.

It is the main Ultimate form of Renamon, and is partnered to Ruki Makino (Rika Nonaka) and Miyuki Minase.

  • Combination Attack: "Trinity Burst" where it combines powers with WarGrowlmon and Rapidmon to become a burst of rainbow colored energy that pierces the foe.
  • Familiar: Turns its paper talismans into shikigami.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Its "Bonhitsusen" note  where it chants an incantation while painting the Sanskrit character "Hum" in the air with its gigantic brush, to destroy the enemy with white energy. An opponent that is hit with Bonhitsusen gets caught in a gigantic explosion and is annihilated. It shouts "Bon-Hitsu-Sen" as it paints the Sanskrit character. Its "Ippitsu" note  where it hits the enemy with a brush stroke and "Issen" note  where it attacks with a shining brush stroke.
  • Paper Talisman: Its "Kofusatsu" note  uses paper seals to attack the enemy and "Rajas" creates a seal and throws it like a shuriken.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Om" where it creates a large hemispherical shield atop a yin-yang sign that Taomon can move at will. It can also be used to electrocute an enemy caught in it.

  • Absurd Cutting Power: Its sword, Zandenken, is said to possess terrifying sharpness that can cut the enemy's configuration data in half.
  • Action Bomb: Its "Fragment Bomb" where it spins around and self-destructs.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In early video games, it had red gloves, completely black eyes, and only three visible teeth.
  • Evil Counterpart: It's a malicious, destructive version of the Vaccine Digimon Giromon, which it was created in opposition to.
  • Palette Swap: It's Giromon, only purple and missing the horns.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Zandenken" note  where it strikes with its electrified sword.
  • Slasher Smile: Its default expression is a menacing, too-wide grin full of fangs.
  • Sword Beam: Digital Card Battle depicts its sword emitting electic beams when attacking.
  • Use Your Head: Its attack "Skull Stand", where it flings itself against the opponent.

Tempomon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tempomon.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digital Monster
Attacks: Rhythmic Arts, Howling Blast, Upbeat Twister

A Bird Man Digimon that evolved via dance music data. It is a natural-born dancer who always performs to the rhythm and unleashes its taijutsu while dancing, even in battle. Thetismon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thetismon_6.jpg
Attacks: Birī Smasher, Hammer Thunder, Adieu World, Doctease

An Aquatic Beast Man Digimon which has the appearance of a woman, records show that it was discovered in the deepest trenches of the "Net Ocean", the birthplace of Digimon. It brings peace to its own vast territory, and immediately approaches and brings down the hammer on Digimon that tumultuously disturb it. Although it shows no mercy to those who invade its territory, it is kind to Digimon in need of help, guiding them to safety, and has a spirit that fights for the weak against the strong.

Thetismon is the Ultimate form of Jellymon and is partnered to Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai.

  • Combat Medic: Its Doctease move has it inject various medicines into its allies via its tentacles, also giving them a temporary Status Buff. Against enemies, however, it instead injects them with a deadly poison.
  • Electric Jellyfish: Slightly more downplayed. It still has the electric powers and a couple of Combat Tentacles, but it more resembles an adult woman that just so happens to dress like a jellyfish.
  • Elemental Punch: Its Birīnote  Smasher involves it accumulating electricity in its palms before sending its fists flying. Its Hammer Thunder also uses electric punches, but it starts with Thetismon kicking the enemy upward.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Though it fights for weak Digimon that need its help, it is ruthless toward its enemies.
  • Poisonous Person: One of the uses of Doctease is to create deadly poisons.
  • Shock and Awe: Like its prior forms, it uses electricity in some of its attacks.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: Its Adieunote  World has it teleport to the enemy by removing the space between it and its opponent. Think The Hand.

Tinmon (Blikmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blikmon.jpg
Attacks: Anti-Magic

A Machine Digimon resembling a toy robot.

Triceramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/triceramon.png

A bipedal Ceratopsian Digimon with the appearance of the "Triceratops", whose offensive ability competes for first or second among herbivorous dinosaur types. The sturdiness of its skin is top class among organic Digimon. The two horns growing from its brow are super-sturdy, just like its skin, and are far harder than that of Monochromon. It normally has a gentle personality. However, its ordinarily sluggish movements belie the offensive power of its charging attacks, which are capable of obliterating even the sturdy-bodied Mineral-species Digimon.

A Triceramon was one of the original Chosen Children's partners in Digimon Adventure tri., and one is owned by Ryouma Mogami. As a proper partner, it is a potential evolution for Agumon and partnered to Takuma Momotsuka.

  • Four Legs Good, Two Legs Better: Unlike Monochromon, Triceramon can walk on two legs and use its forelegs as arms, but it still can run on four legs.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Tri-Horn Attack" where it charges into the opponent with the two horns on its forehead and the horn at the tip of its nose.
  • Prehistoric Animal Analogue: It is a Digimon based on ceratopsian dinosaurs, mainly the triceratops.

Triceramon X (Triceramon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/triceramonx2.jpg

The three horns growing from its head spin rapidly in order to pierce anything that comes to attack it, and their penetrating power has increased even more. Due to its gentle personality, it is often attacked by the enemy, but tries to drive them away using the sturdiness of its skin and its Spike Armor.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Knock Buster" where it attacks with the claws of one foreleg.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Tri-Horn Attack" where it charges into the opponent with the two horns on its forehead and the horn at the tip of its nose.
  • This Is a Drill: Its "Golden Tri-Horn Attack" where it rams the enemy with its three horns spinning at high speeds like drills.

Tropiamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toropiamon.jpg

A Plant Digimon that inhabits jungles. It is thought to have evolved into its gaudy appearance by taking in the data of various trees and fruits. The scent from its body, which is like a mixture of all kinds of fruits, is so intense that those who are not used to it will be knocked out by force. The drops secreted from its leaves, which act like wings, are so toxic they can even dissolve iron.

  • Breath Weapon: Its Tropical Venom attack is a gas that it exhales to make things rot from the inside out.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: The official translation is "Toropiamon". The o is supposed to be dropped, Toropiamon is the Japanese pronunication and isn't supposed to be used when translating the language.
  • Bright Is Not Good: It's covered in colorful leaves and petals. It's also a horrifically corrosive monster.
  • Hollywood Acid: Thanks to all the fruit in its diet, Tropiamon gives off a lot of acid.
  • Make Them Rot: Its "Tropical Venom" attack has it spew it as a gas at enemies, causing them to rot from the inside out.
  • Planimal: It's a lizard made from parts of fruit trees.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Its "Petally Carnage" attack has it shake pollen from the petals around its neck. Explosive pollen.

Vademon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vademon_4.png

An Alien Digimon shaped like something that came from the far reaches of the cosmos. However, it is rumored that it was born from the seed of a plant. While hard to imagine from its overdeveloped head and octopus-like lower body, it carries terrifying offensive power.

A Vademon is owned by Ren Tobari.

  • Alien Invasion: It's named after the concept.
  • Colony Drop: An interesting version of this. Its Akuma no Nage Kiss note  where it blows a kiss at the opponent, either causing them to panic or hurling asteroids at them.
  • Hand Blast: Its "Mutilate" where it shocks the opponent with a mysterious light emitted from its hand or spaceship.
  • My Brain Is Big: In a tribute to older depicting of alien invaders, Vademom's brain is disproportionately large — about half as tall as the rest of the body — and its complex folds visibly dominate its seemingly cranium-less head.
  • Plant Person: Its supposedly was born from a the seed of a plant which is a reference to the fact it evolves from Vegimon.
  • Ray Gun: Its "Abduction Kousen" note  where it attacks with the hand-held ray gun it carries and "Hold Beam" fires a ray from its gun that prevents the enemy from evolving.

Vademon X (Vademon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vademonx.jpg

The "Delinquent Alien". Although it was a Vademon theorised to have come to Earth in order to invade it, it instead took on a form that was influenced by Earth's culture. While it believes that it has evolved to become even stronger, in actuality only its appearance has changed, and it's sunglasses have in fact made it harder for it to see clearly. However, it is able to master skills which menace enemy Digimon, and is perhaps a step closer to invading the Earth.

  • Combat Tentacles: Its "Tenshi no Low Kick" note  in which it smiles while kicking the opponent's feet, is a fearsome technique which completely distracts the opponent. (presumably as they try to figure out how one kicks with a tentacle...)
  • Cool Shades: It has a pair which it thinks are cool.
  • Going Native: Hanging around humans too long has made it start dressing like a Japanese delinquent.
  • Ray Gun: Its "Abduction Kousen" where it attacks with the hand held blaster it carries.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Subverted. Normally the X-Antibody unleashes the full potential of a Digimon. With Vademon... it hasn't actually done anything beyond changed its wardrobe.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vermillimon.jpg

Volcamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/volcamon.jpg

A powerful Cyborg Digimon with a large build. It is named Volcamon after how the volcano on its back will erupt when its anger reaches its peak, or when its excitement surpasses its maximum. Furthermore, it is not only a strong opponent but also a close rival of Etemon's. Its deafening voice shakes the atmosphere and causes the earth to tremble.

  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Its "Big Bang Tackle" is powerful enough to destroy mountains.
  • Inconsistent Dub: It has gone by "Volcamon" and "Volcanomon" at different points.
  • Large Ham: Often tends to be portrayed as such in most media.
  • Magma Man: Courtesy of the volcano on its back.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Its "Big Bang Voice" stuns enemies with a heavy bass mic performance.
  • Meaningful Name: Its is named after Volcano Ota 「ボルケーノ太田 Borukēno Ota」 also known as Pile Volcano Ota 「パイルボルケーノ太田 Pairu Borukēno Ōta'」, a former D-1 Grand Prix announcer as well as being a designer involved in the production of the Digimon franchise. Volcamon's design is based on both Volcano Ota (Pile Volcano Ota) and volcanoes. Although Volcamon features a small active volcano on its back, most of its elements are based on Volcano Ota's personality. Examples include Volcamon's Volcano Armor which is a reference to the "armor suit" Volcano Ota dresses in when promoting Digimon merchandise, the microphone in its right hand in conjunction with the "D-1" inscription on its armor relates to the fact that Ota was formerly a D-1 Grand Prix announcer.
  • The Rival: Serves as this to the similarly boisterous and musically-inclined Etemon.

Volcdramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/volcdramon.jpg

A volcanic dragon Digimon that inhabits the magma beds of the active volcanoes that dot the Digital World. It is said that volcanic eruptions occur due to the activity of Volcdoramon, so the Digital World's volcanologists study not volcanic activity, but the activity of Volcdoramon and the stirring of volcanoes. Although its appearance is that of a terrifying figure, its personality is gentle, and it is not the type to like conflict. However, if it's offended just once, you will surely suffer its scorching attacks like a "raging fire".

A Volcdramon was defeated and captured by Kiriha (Christopher) Aonuma.

  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: The official translation is "Volcdoramon". "Doramon" is the Japanese translation of "Dramon", and all other Dramon Species correctly translate to "Dramon", leaving this as the only mistranslated Dramon Digimon.
  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: It is described as a Dragon Digimon, but it looks more like a dinosaur. Particularly one in the Sauropod subgroup.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: It scorches those who offend it.
  • Gentle Giant: Zigzagged. It is large and looks terrifying, but it is gentle and prefers not to fight. That is until it's offended.
  • Magma Man: Or rather Magma Dragon. Its "Volcanic Fount" sprays super high-temperature magma and "Circle of Death" causes everyone within a 10km radius to faint from its sulfur of death.

Vulturemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vulturemon.jpg

A cruel, peerless Digimon that prioritizes its own interests above all else. Feared as the Reaper of Dust, it has excellent eyesight such that it can shoot its targets even in sandstorms. It wears its camouflage cloak in areas where it has a clear view, hides itself and waits for an opportunity to arise. Then, it quietly brings down the enemy using the outstanding silencing performance of its "CND-96" rifle, which shoots out compressed sand.

  • Bird People: A bipedal vulture.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megalogrowmon.jpg

Possessing the name "Great Growmon", it is a Cyborg-type Perfect Digimon. As its name suggests, its body has grown gigantic, and its upper body has been metallized with the strongest metal, "Chrome Digizoid". It is able to take flight with the two vernier attached to its shoulders, so it is possible for it to perform both anti-air and anti-ground attacks. In order to restrain it from running wild due to excess power, a restraining tool similar to a bit is attached to its jaw section. Also, since the "Assault Balancer" extending like a cable from its back section is extensible, it can be used to impale the opponent.

WarGrowlmon is the main Ultimate form of Guilmon, and is partnered to Takato Matsuda (Matsuki) and Kouta Hirose.

  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Its "Double Edge" where it slices the enemy with the Pendulum Blades on its arms or uses its vernier to charge forward with glowing Pendulum Blades extended.

  • Expy: Is one to MetalGreymon due to its cyborg body, which also keeps the theme of Guilmon's line being this to Agumon's. This is the last stage to be a direct reference to one of the Agumon line, however, as Dukemon shares virtually no traits with WarGreymon beyond being a humanoid warrior.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Its "Assault Balancer" impales the enemy with its Assault Balancer and throws them.
  • Jet Pack: The vernier attached to its shoulders allow it to fly.

WaruMonzaemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/warumonzaemon.png

This fiendish-faced Puppet Digimon is a far cry from Monzaemon. It's on good terms with MetalEtemon, and it is said that the WaruMonzaemon plush toy it wears on its waist is something that WaruMonzaemon sent to it. Still, similar to Monzaemon, its true form is unclear, but the peeking out of its strange, shining eyes from within is eerie. Its personality is the epitome of wickedness, and it is malicious and treacherous. Its left arm is equipped with the character "Evil" and the powerful "Bear Claw" of a grizzly bear note .

Its Chrome Digizoid equipment is made to be thin and lightweight, so as not to hinder its movements when it carries out its kicking techniques. This combat specialist is balanced in both offense and defense, and is a reliable Digimon who will fight and use its own body to shield its master when the situation calls for it.

Due to that enormity, it carries a volume of data that couldn't be processed by a normal computer. Although it has been possible to confirm it as the same species as those in File Island's coastal waters, this Whamon, which lives off of Folder Continent's coast, and whose appearance is totally the same, has surpassed the previous in both offensive ability and vitality, and accomplished an evolution to Perfect.

Among researchers it is rumored that it is in the same family as Piemon, and of the same Demon Man type. If someone makes fun of its appearance or its battle situation becomes disadvantageous, it will express its anger by letting out a war cry while swinging the axe in its right hand. Also, it seems that whenever it doesn't perform its prided techniques well or if it loses in battle, it will hold up its shield and cower behind it while crying loudly.

It further guards its well-tempered muscles with protectors, which it made from the pelt and shell that it stole from its opponents. The horn on its head has been replaced with one that became impossible to regrow, so it voluntarily processed it into a saw shape. However, after all is said and done, its strongest weapon, which it dug up from ancient ice, is its "Thor Hammer" made of Chrondigizoit Metal.
