https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/logo_3_4.png
One of the ten playable schools of Blue Archive. It is the newest of the Three Great Academies of Kivotos, valuing logic and technical skill over all else. Because of it, they stand at the forefront of scientific research and attract many students who desire to study math or science. Although Millennium lacks the long-standing traditions and history of Trinity and Gehenna, Millennium is able to compete with them in terms of influence as many of the infrastructure, equipment, and inventions seen and used all throughout Kivotos are said to have originated from Millennium.

Every year, the school holds a large-scale contest known as the Millennium Prize, where clubs all throughout the school compete with the results of their club activities.

The tropes they calculate are as follows:

  • For Science!: Millennium Science School is Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Their clubs are always making or inventing something amazing that justifies Seminar assigning a big budget. Then there are those who go wild and give Yuuka a headache like the Engineering Club.
  • Meaningful Name: The school's first name is a reference to the Millennium Problems by the Clay Mathematics Institute, getting a direct reference in Seminar's sub-story as "seven challenges current technology can't solve".
  • No Tech but High Tech: Technology produced by this school runs the gamut from drones, railguns, firework hologram projectors, gun-mounted security robots and a robot tank (that the Engineering Club claims is a cheerbot). Even SRT Special Academy sources their gadgets from Millennium.
  • Science Hero: All Millennium students are this by lieu of the technology or related skills they use—even Sumire, who makes detailed fitness plans.

L - R: Yuuka, Noa
The student council of Millennium Science School.

Seminar handles Millennium's administrative and bureaucratic affairs. They also allocated the budget to fund the operation of all Millennium clubs.

The treasurer of Seminar, best known for her calculation skills. She is ever beleaguered by the costs of Millennium's numerous high-tech inventions.

  • Berserk Button: C&C is actually this for Yuuka, as the club's penchant for wanton destruction (especially if Akane's bombs are involved in the equation somewhere) during their operations often results in Seminar having to foot some very expensive bills. During Bunny Chaser on Board, Sensei was specifically asked by Yuuka to tag along with C&C to prevent them from running riot.
  • Call-Back: You get a Recollection Lobby in the first episode of her normal version's bond stories, then once again in her Sport version.
  • Deflector Shield: Yuuka's special ability grants her a temporary defense buff in the form of a Beehive Barrier. Her tracksuit variant extends this to her allies as well on the field.
  • Good with Numbers: She's stated to be incredibly good with mathematics, and thus is the one who manages Millennium's budget. Her skill animation even has her furiously using a calculator.
  • Guns Akimbo: Yuuka can be seen dual wielding her SIG MPXs in both her artwork and her passive skill, I.F.F.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While trying to shut down the Game Development Club seems harsh to its members, Yuuka has a point that the club has done nothing useful but play video games, got into fights with other clubs over old and rare games and have only three members instead of four as required by all clubs. Plus their first video game, Tales Chronicle Saga, was so bad that it won the Worst Game of The Year Award, something a club about video games shouldn't be proud of.
  • Only Sane Woman:
    • With Rio being more of a shadowy leader, Noa having a passive role, and Koyuki an unrepentant troublemaker, this not only applies to Yuuka's own club but also the entire student body consisting of budget-hungry student scientists looking to implement their wild ideas; Millennium would have been in ruins, penniless, or both without their treasurer keeping the lid on.
    • During the preparation for the Millennium raid in Volume F, Tsurugi and Neru duke it out to see who's stronger and becomes the leader. Noa then calls in Yuuka who puts her foot down, shouts at them like a mom with her misbehaving kids, actually gets them to listen, and makes them settle things by playing rock-paper-scissors instead.
  • The Rival: Seems to be this with Chihiro of all people, possibly because of Veritas's constant troublemaking. Even though Chihiro is the mother of the group and the most responsible individual among them, she doesn't seem to be very fond of Yuuka and even claims that the treasurer of Seminar "becomes meek when Sensei is involved", which annoys Yuuka to no end.
  • Ship Tease: With all the screentime she gets in the game and promotions outside of it, there's quite a few examples to reference.
    • The entire Sensei, May I Have A Moment of Your Time? video shorts series is all about Yuuka spending intimate moments with Sensei. When Noa co-stars in the series, there ends up being an episode or two of Yuuka obviously acting jealous of her friend being close with Sensei, like this episode where she moves about in the background, always looking at the camera with a sulky expression.
    • Two big ones in Get Set, Go!:
      • Episode 3 has Yuuka bring Sensei for her prompt in the scavenger hunt game, which she denies it being the romantic "crush" prompt. When Sensei acts hurt about it, she blurts out that it's not that she doesn't have a crush on them... then doubles back on her words to the spectators' doubts.
      • The epilogue brings up a bonfire dance superstition by dancing with a crush to get together, which Yuuka mutters is silly before offering Sensei a dance in her usual haughty way.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: Reacting to one. Yuuka's first relationship episode involves her questioning why Sensei eats only bread from a convenience store. Upon learning that Sensei spent thousands on toy robots, she ultimately chews them out for it. This episode also unlocks the first animated menu background, depicting Yuuka personally managing Sensei's finances.
  • Starter Mon: As one of the three representatives from the major schools of Kivotos to meet Sensei, she's one of the first Strikers given to players. She also acts as the introduction to Recollection Lobbies, with hers being available at Affection Level 1.
  • Stone Wall: As a "Tanker" type of student, she has relatively low Attack and good survivability; and her EX Skill allows he to use the power of math to cast an energy shield on herself, that can endure up to 248% of her Healing.
  • Team Mom: After the events of the first part of Volume 2, she starts growing fiercely protective of the Game Development Club, with her usual temper making her come across as a stern mother figure. It even comes off as Mama Bear at times, as best shown in Volume F; when the group acquires a spaceship, Aris along with the engineering group wants to come along, but she strongly refuses to let them on, especially Aris, whom she wants to stay behind as she worries that Rio is still after her. It is only because of Noa's words convincing her that she reluctantly lets her on. Later on, after Aris uses her powers to destroy the dimensional barrier and nearly dies, she immediately breaks her calm demanding to know what happened to her when she heard the rest of the GDD were in panic over the communication line.
  • Tsundere: She pretends that her assisting Sensei is more of a bother, but still looks out for them regardless.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Her Sport version is more open and friendly with Sensei than her regular self, with her Recollection Lobby being much happier until she thinks an indirect kiss is about to occur.

Will you journey with me into the world of reason and rationality?
Affiliation: Seminar

The secretary of Seminar, whose role is to transcribe any and all events. Though she presents a calm and composed figure, she has a very mischievous side.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: She always acts polite and accommodating, but don't let that fool you from thinking she won't make jokes at your expense as Yuuka and Sensei (in her Relationship Stories) can attest to. Koyuki in particular fears her more than she does Yuuka, especially when she starts forcefully 'insisting' with a smile on her face.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She makes her very first appearance in the 1st PV of the game with Yuuka and was mentioned a few times in Volume 2 Chapter 1 before she has was finally introduced in On Your Marks event.
  • The Gadfly: Somewhat of a natural prankster, usually to her best friend Yuuka. Her extremely precise memory means she's always got something to tease Yuuka with, much to her chagrin. Noa means well, though, and Yuuka's aware of it.
  • Photographic Memory: Noa can recall anything after seeing it once, essentially acting as the "Notebook" to Yuuka's "Calculator". While it is a useful skill in her job as the secretary of Seminar, it also helps her remember any and all of Yuuka's more embarrassing moments to tease her with.
  • Shipper on Deck: She does with Yuuka and Sensei, rarely missing a chance to tease her friend about it.
    • A lot of the Sensei, May I Have A Moment of Your Time? shorts have her prodding Yuuka about her being with Sensei.
    • In Seminar's Group Story's third episode, when Yuuka is ruminating on all 34 questions to ask the Prophecy Protocol, a future-analyzing machine, Noa asks if all of them are about her relationship with Sensei. Though a flustered Yuuka brushes it off, Noa notes she didn't deny the accusation.

    Kurosaki Koyuki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/koyuki_00_new.png
Ha ha ha...! Great power...! What? Great responsibility? What is that?
Affiliation: Seminar (since Volume F Chapter 2, previously None)
Age: 15
Birthday: February 14th
Height: 4'10" (149cm)
Hobbies: Gambling, escapes
Illustrator: MISOM150
Voiced by: Natsune Inui

The resident troublemaker of Seminar, who is excellent in analyzing probabilities, which she herself is unaware of.

  • The Cracker: She easily exceeds most of Millennium's hacking abilities, and during the Bunny Chasers on Board event, she abuses it to issue Seminar-backed bonds to play raffles on the Golden Fleece.
  • Good with Numbers: So good with numbers she can hack through a security system even faster than a computer.
  • Luxury Prison Suite: Downplayed. In her first Relationship Story, it's elaborated that Yuuka and Noa do their best to make sure she reflects, but Koyuki still keeps on getting sent to the detention room so many times she's snuck in stuff like snacks and a board game. After Sensei obliges her request to kill time with her though, they then report her misbehavior to Seminar.
  • Never My Fault: Despite getting arrested and then imprisoned by Seminar, Koyuki still doesn't feel like she did anything wrong, complaining about how she was unjustly thrown into prison and even berating Yuuka for sending the C&C crew after her. She even makes excuses about how she's not the one to blame for those crimes but rather the person who couldn't create a strong enough encryption to stop her. However, it's later revealed that she in fact didn't embezzle Seminar funds for her own gain, but under orders from Rio so she could secretly fund the construction of Eridu.
  • Recruiting the Criminal: With Yuuka's great reluctance but in need of the best hacker available, and Noa intimidating her (who was probably the biggest reason), Koyuki returns to Seminar during the Final Volume.
  • Red Herring: Koyuki's raffle scheme during Bunny Chasers on Board reveals she's blown massive amounts of Millennium's money in the form of Seminar-issued bonds. As revealed in Volume 2 Chapter 2, it was all a cover-up plot by Rio to distract Yuuka and the rest of Seminar while she worked on building Eridu to combat Divi:Sion.
  • Smug Snake: She's one of the smartest students in Kivotos and isn't afraid to let other people know. However, despite her intelligence and hacking ability, Koyuki is too impulsive to really take advantage of those traits. For example, her grand scheme for forging Seminar bonds was to literally gamble them away on a vague hope of winning a Gold Ticket, which gave away her location to Seminar who proceeded to send C&C after her. Then, when she's cornered, she boasts that she's prepared a drone to fly her to safety beforehand, completely forgetting that C&C has a trained sniper who effortlessly shoots it down.

The cold and calculating president of Seminar, whose personality is so driven by her goals that she would not hesitate to make the toughest calls.

She debuts at the first episode of Volume 2, Chapter 2 of the Main Story.

  • 0% Approval Rating: Despite Rio being the President of Seminar, nobody in Millennium actually likes her due to her tendency to isolate herself and her belief that only she can solve the school's problems. This rears its ugly head when Rio kidnaps Aris, which ends up uniting practically the entire school against her because the student body ultimately likes Aris more than Rio, even if Rio had justifiable motivations.
  • Anti-Villain: Regardless of the outcome, she was genuinely trying to save Kivotos from destruction, and her motives were all heroic.
  • Big Bad: Of Chapter 2, Volume 2, being the one trying to break Aris' Halo before she can awaken as a threat to all of Kivotos by reverting fully to her Killer Robot programming.
  • Can't Take Criticism: In her first appearance alone, she orders Himari arrested by her drones simply because she disagreed with her in regards to Aris's nature.
  • The Chessmaster:
    • She was the one behind C&C being present as Vol. 2 Chapter 1's antagonists.
    • It turns out that Koyuki escaping during Bunny Chaser on Board was by design—Rio allowed Koyuki to gamble with Seminar's funds to distract Yuuka, letting her divert funds into building Eridu in secret.
  • Corrupted Contingency: She created Eridu as a fortress city to either give her a safe location to break Aris' Halo from beyond retaliation or withstand Divi:Sion's eventual Robot War against Kivotos. It winds up getting hacked by Aris' "Key" personality to serve Divi:Sion's needs.
  • Crazy-Prepared:
    • In Volume 2 Chapter 2 Episode 1, although Himari catches Rio off-guard by hacking her AMAS robots and escaping in a split-second blackout, Rio had Toki on standby to catch her at the end.
    • She accounted for Neru refusing to capture Aris, so she kept the other C&C members away and again had Toki hidden and ready to fight her, who makes use of a stealth outfit Rio personally designed.
    • Eridu itself is a Citadel City she built to stand against Divi:Sion, complete with hordes of security robots and buildings that can move on their own like you'd see in Neon Genesis Evangelion. In addition, the city itself wirelessly aids Toki’s powered suit, Abi-Eshuh, in the astronomical calculations needed to evade and shoot out every bullet coming at her. Too bad this bites everyone in the back when Divi:Sion takes it over in mere moments.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Is completely blindsided by Eimi coming in Himari's rescue in Chp. 2, Ep. 16, having failed to account for the possibility, then again when Chihiro restores communications with Sumire acting as muscle against her robots.
  • Enemy Mine: Partnered up with Himari shortly before Chapter 2 began. The alliance (or "ceasefire" as Himari calls it) falls apart in the first section of Chapter 2, with Rio ordering Himari arrested simply for disagreeing with her.
  • Fatal Flaw: As Himari points out in Volume 2 Chapter 2 Episode 16, she works alone—Himari is her Arch-Enemy to begin with despite knowing Rio well, while Toki just follows orders. Rio’s uncompromising belief in following her path even if no one understands her only compounds her lack of allies and limits her choices to her own views.
Himari: Your problem, Rio, is that you are too brilliant. You refuse to let others hold you back, or wait for them to catch up… And so you walk alone.
  • Foil: Her enmity with Himari is summarized in the entirety of the first episode of Volume 2, Chapter 2. To paraphrase Pixy, they're opposite sides of the same coin.
    • Both cooperated to discern Aris's identity and reach the same conclusion in the end, but Himari cheerfully thought of Aris as an "adorable kouhai" despite this, while Rio saw her as a weapon of mass destruction.
    • The two occupy positions as club heads, although Himari is lax in personality, whereas Rio subscribes to rationality, enough for her to let Himari's jokes fly over her head during their meeting. In other words, they represent Emotions vs. Stoicism respectively.
    • They both are beautiful girls, but present a white-black color contrast with each other. What's more, Himari has a thin body, is bound to a wheelchair, dresses in grey and white colors, and expresses herself cheerfully despite the demure image she projects; Rio is busty, has red eyes, black hair and clothes, can stand on her own, and emotes far less in comparison.
  • Graceful Loser: When Toki, her only ace in the hole, is defeated in Ep. 22, she sees no point in resisting the Game Development Club and co. further.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Tying in with Fatal Flaw above, Rio's insistence on following the logical path, despite how villainous it might seem to others, even if nobody else understands what she's doing leaves her with only Toki on her side, while Sensei is able to rally the support of Veritas, C&C, the Engineering Department and even Yuuka and Noa to help them and the Game Development Club rescue Aris.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: She makes a point to call Aris 'it' for being a robot, even though she can't explain how a robot would have a halo to start with.
  • The Man Behind the Man: She's revealed to have been behind the conflict of the first chapter, together with Himari (she provided C&C as an obstacle, Himari provided the 'Mirror'), as a test to determine Aris' true nature.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She realizes in Chp. 2, Ep. 23 that she practically handed Divi:Sion everything it needed to destroy Kivotos in Eridu, a city’s worth of Millennium’s technology she herself made.
  • The Needs of the Many: When discussing why she wishes to break Aris’s halo, she cites the Trolley Problem, stating that the most logical choice is to sacrifice the one person for the rest, and that she’d pull the lever despite the consequences. While this sounds callous of her, she tells Sensei and the Game Devs to escape when Divi:Sion takes over Eridu while she stays behind to stop the AI on her own, even if it means sacrificing her life to correct her mistake in making Eridu from the start. Sensei realizes that her referencing the Problem is her own way showing kindness—she’ll pull the lever so that no one has to, and if there has to be that one person on the tracks, she will be that person.
  • Running Away to Cry: In Volume F, after Aris and her friends, including her, manage to destroy the Ark's multidimensional barrier and save everyone, Himari and Sensei appreciate her help. Rio turns her camera off without any answer. The next scene briefly shows her with her head on her knees, hugging her legs, and sitting under the desk alone.
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: Lambasts Sensei for, in her mind, their insistence on prioritising Aris' wellbeing over the safety of all of Kivotos by continuing to try and defend her, despite seeing how much of a threat she is under the influence of her Killer Robot programming.
  • The Spock: Very focused on logic and efficiency and without much of a sense of humour even as Himari attempts to joke with her. She even says that this is what she expected of adults like Sensei and scolds them for thinking they can still defend Aris without a care for the potential threat.
Noa: Once she sets her mind to something, she'll stop at nothing to accomplish it. And whatever tough decisions need to be made along the way, she'll make in a heartbeat. As long as they're rational.
  • Student Council President: Of Seminar, albeit the type to run things from behind the scenes. She resigns in disgrace by the end of Vol. 2 Ch. 2 out of guilt for nearly causing the end of Kivotos through building Eridu.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: As befitting of being The Spock, The Needs of the Many in Millennium are what drives her actions and personality, even if she is aware of how much of a villain this paints her in everyone else's eyes. For starters, she acts to break Aris's halo before she could 'awaken' as the Princess of the Nameless Gods and wreak havoc.

The vice president of Veritas, being the most ethical member, thus leaving her as the only one keeping her clubmates in line.

  • Not So Above It All: She's usually the one trying to keep the others in check, but her moral fiber sometimes gets the better of her. In one of her relationship events, she finds out the company she was doing security checks for is running scams on their customers, and promptly leaks their entire database online. She's well-aware of the hypocrisy (especially when she was just talking about how the others playing super-hacker was damaging to Veritas's reputation as a security firm) but she couldn't help it.
  • The Reliable One: Compared to how whimsical the rest of Veritas is, she's often the one who has to handle serious jobs personally. And that's without counting that she also moonlights as IT and security consultant for a lot of businesses in Kivotos, including some of the other schools. She might even be a bit too reliable: the Engineering Club members have fully admitted to often skimping on cyber-security measures because they know Chihiro is there to fix things if something goes wrong, an attitude that thoroughly annoys her.
  • The Rival: Seemingly with Yuuka, of all people. Seminar already has a less than positive opinion of Veritas's troublemaking, which probably explains why Chihiro always talks back to Yuuka with a snarky tone.
  • Team Mom: Essentially is this to the other Veritas girls, especially now that she's become the acting leader of the group after Himari left to preside over the Supernatural Phenomenon Task Force.

A hacker of Veritas who is overly fond of energy drinks to pull off all-nighters.

  • Hypocritical Humor: In one bond story, she complains about a movie she just saw for negatively portraying hackers as a bunch of trolls while hacking and defacing the movie's official website. To her credit, she does note the hypocrisy afterwards.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Constantly engages in all-nighters, only keeping herself going with a supply of energy drinks. An attempt to break her addiction by Sensei leaves her with serious energy deficiencies as a result of the withdrawal, and a few days later she promptly relapses.
  • Playful Hacker: As part of the hacker group Veritas, she very much qualifies as one. She shows a playful side of this as seen in Hypocritical Humor.

  • Exact Eavesdropping: What she regularly engages in by wiretapping and planting bugs, especially in regards to Sensei throughout her bond stories. It pretty much becomes a Running Gag that Sensei gets wiser to any gift she offers later on.
  • Shrinking Violet: Why she wiretaps as she sees it as a legitimate way of getting to know people.
  • Status Buff: Her EX Skill increases the Attack of all allies in a circular area by 47.4%, for 30 seconds, and her Sub Skill increases Attack by an additional 17.3%.

A freewheeling graffiti tagger besides her work as a hacker. This often leads to trouble with the police.

  • Actress Allusion: The double-bun short red hair is a dead giveaway to Shiori Mikami 's most famous character. She's not invisible, though.
  • Ascended Meme: Maki has always been a popular pick to take on raid boss Binah with. Then during Vol. F Chp. 2, Maki participates in the raid against a Chroma-controlled Binah.
  • The City vs. the Country: Weirdly enough, the country, despite being a graffiti artist - her terrain affinity makes her somewhat workable in urban environments, but in the desert or any other field type environments, Maki is a near-unrivaled powerhouse.
  • Compressed Hair: It looks like Maki has short hair because of how it's tied up, but her two buns are holding back a lot of hair. Her sprite for the Veritas Camping event shows that she has enough hair to tie into long braids.
  • Disc-One Nuke: She's as close to guaranteed as possible despite being a 3-star, as her shards are available for purchase in the Total Assault shop from day one, and Maki absolutely eats Binah for breakfast with her combination of Piercing damage attribute, huge DPS, defense shred sub skill, and an advantageous armor typing in Insane difficulty. She's always useful against the giant snake, doubly so in Outdoor scenarios as her terrain affinity is maximum in those and her damage output only gets even higher.
  • Generic Graffiti: She loves making them so much you can see it in how her machine gun is decorated. We are also treated to one of her works in her Recollection Lobby.
  • Playful Hacker: Playful enough to install BOOM on every kiosk in an area in one relationship episode.

Cleaning & Clearing

L - R: Karin, Asuna, Neru, Akane
    Associated Tropes
  • Meido: The degree to which they fulfill this trope varies besides wearing typical frilly maid outfits and the premise of serving their 'master'. Akane plays it straight the most with her professionalism (if you ignore her bombs) and Karin is just as earnest about being one. In contrast, Asuna is too ditzy to act like one, Neru… is violent and free-spirited, and Toki is more like a secret agent who just happens to be dressed as a maid compared to the others.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The entire C&C wear leotards at some point, with Toki wearing one while piloting Abi-Eshuh while the rest of the group have alternate 'bunny suit' units.
  • Ninja Maid: While C&C members disguise themselves as maids, they are secret agents which work for Seminar. By contrast, Toki leans the most into the secret agent side of this, being an exclusive maid for Rio.
  • You Are Number 6: All maids are assigned a number: Neru is '00', Asuna '01', Karin '02' and Akane '03'. Their latest fellow maid, Toki, is '04'.

  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Her EX is a devastating AP round that cuts through heavy enemies like butter and temporarily decreases defense on anyone she hits.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Akane is about as sweet as a plum and as dangerous as the bundles of dynamite she carries with her in her equipment case.
  • Mad Bomber: Her method of "cleaning" typically revolves around the healthy use of explosives.
  • Not So Above It All: While she is generally the most normal and well adjusted member of C&C, she tends to have a slight obsession with explosives.
  • Scary Shiny Glasses: Whenever she activates her EX Skill.
  • Secret-Keeper: Akane was the only one who knew about Toki's existence prior to Volume 2 Chapter 2.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: If she's tasked with doing something, chances are very high it'll end with something exploding, much to Yuuka's chagrin.
  • Team Mom: While Neru is the official leader of C&C, it's often Akane's job to take care of the other maids and keep them focused on their objective.

The very, very carefree member of C&C. This attitude could make someone wonder if she's doing her job right, but in truth, her luck is so awesome it practically does the work for her.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: She doesn’t have the largest attention span. Akane notes that she has about 2 minutes of her attention to explain their goals before she goes off on her own. She still produces the desired results however.
  • Black Sheep: While one would likely brush Asuna off beyond her fanservice appearance as not viable due to being a one-star, Asuna carries the unique distinction of being the only non-event Mystic-type striker in the entire one-star student roster. This can put her a cut above her peers in being able to more effectively take on Special-type enemies early on in any Sensei's career compared to other students, especially since she'll likely end up in your roster long before any other Mystic-type students.
  • Born Lucky: She has a tendency to confront her problems with nothing but pure instinct and intuition, with the solution typically falling onto her lap without much effort.
    • In her first relationship story, she’s supposed to be tracking down a target (which she only just remembered in the middle of the episode) but is working at a café for fun with Sensei, on a hunch that things’ll just work out this way. Not long after, said target comes into the maid café to lay low, mistakes Asuna for an ordinary maid and promptly gets caught.
    • She once managed to "hack" her way into the Sanctum Tower by punching numbers at random into the code lock. Sensei is understandably a bit freaked out by this.
    • The splash art for Bunny Chasers on Board has Asuna apparently roll the student gacha and get 10 3-star recruitments in a single pull. In the event’s story proper, Asuna drew from the Golden Fleece's raffle and got an 'S', the highest grade thought to be impossible to get, allowing her and C&C to do anything as they please on the ship. Said 'S' draw comes at the perfect time for her teammates, who've been imprisoned after showing off on a monitor after drawing an 'A' allowed Koyuki to realize C&C were there.
  • Genki Girl: Easily the most energetic and upbeat member of C&C. There's hardly a moment when she isn't smiling.
  • Grin of Audacity: There isn't much that can wipe that smug smile off of her face to a point it's become one of her defining traits. Can go into Cheshire Cat Grin territory depending on what she's doing.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Despite her status as strong contender for hottest girl in Kivotos, she seems to have absolutely no clue about it. Even her various fetishy outfits are only things she wears because she noticed it makes people happy when she does. In her Valentine’s Day story she gives Sensei chocolate that she was keeping in her cleavage, and doesn’t know why Sensei is hesitant to eat it.
  • Meido: Like the rest of the C&C members, she wears a maid outfit.
  • Nice Girl: is generally a sweet girl to the point of helping sort papers on sensei’s desk and doing their chores and warning them about doing overtime and drinking to many energy drinks.
  • Ms. Fanservice: One of Blue Archive's poster girls for it being Best Known for the Fanservice.
  • Playboy Bunny: Her alternate outfit has her wear a bunny girl outfit. Stories related to this outfit get into shenanigans over why she keeps wearing it, like whether it qualifies her as an actual bunny.
  • Violation of Common Sense: Asuna being Asuna, she's more than willing to go to a public laundromat to do her laundry while wearing a bunny suit. She ultimately brushes it off by claiming it was all she had left.

The cool, sniping agent of C&C.

  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Black hair, dark skin, level-headed marksman who never loses her cool on a mission, all on top of her being the tallest of the C&C girls.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her Bunny Girl alternate has a massively powerful, wide-area long range EX skill, but it's offset by the extremely high cost of 7. Downplayed, however, when she's paired with Ui, as the latter's EX skill can drop the cost of others' EX skills by half, making Karin's a much more manageable 4-cost and increasing her versatility and damage output.
  • BFG: She wields a Boys Anti-tank Rifle dubbed "Hawkeye".
  • Book Dumb: Karin may be a terror on the battlefield, but absolutely flops when it comes to academics.
  • The City vs. the Country: Leans toward the country. Gameplay-wise, Karin gets a buff when fighting in the desert. In contrast, she gets a serious nerf if you take her into a city battle.
  • Cold Sniper: Rarely shows emotion, and she's the marksman of C&C.
  • Hartman Hips: While by no means flat topside, Fanservice of her tend to give her Leg Focus or focus on her fat butt, especially in her bunny outfit that goes all-in on her fishnets. It doesn't hurt the appeal on her legs any when both her maid and bunny outfits come with high heels (the only difference between the two pairs is that her maid pair has ankle-straps her bunny pair lacks).
  • Meido: Like the rest of the C&C members, she wears a maid outfit.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Like Asuna, Karin is one of the game's poster girls for it being Best Known for the Fanservice.
  • Only Sane Man: Owing to her stoic and cool personality, her profile states that she typically has to reign in the battle-frenzied Asuna and Akane during missions.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: An odd example since while she does like wearing her bunny girl outfit she gets embarrassed when in fanservicey situations.
  • The Stoic: It's rare that Karin ever shows much emotion, though she does sometimes crack a smile.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: According to Akane, Karin initially joined C&C to learn proper housewifery.

President of C&C, who is known to be unmatched in close-ranged combat. Never mention her diminutive stature in front of her.

  • The Ace: Is the strongest member of C&C by a great deal, to the point that Toki only manages to beat her using either a sneak attack with active cloaking or the Abi-Eshuh combat suit, which lets her dodge bullets with Eridu supplementing its computing power, and once Neru lures her into a tightly confined lift even that isn't enough to win.
  • Badass Boast: This quip from her battle with Aris.
Neru: And I'll tell ya how many people in Kivotos can beat me at close range. None.
  • Berserk Button: Does not like being called little. Not helping her is the fact she's the shortest member of C&C by a considerable margin, only being four-foot-nine whereas Akane, the next-shortest member, is five-foot-four. Further compounding things is that only her bunny outfit comes with high heels, which unlike her clubmates she's unused to wearing.
  • The Dreaded: Being the leader of the famous C&C Club and also it's strongest combatant, she is feared by all students alike. The only reason the Game Development Club and Veritas even dared to attack the student council is because she was away on a mission.
  • Guns Akimbo: She dual wields two SIG MPX submachine guns chained together at their stocks.
  • I Don't Know Mortal Kombat:
    • Even the dreaded Codename 00 can't beat Aris in a fighting game. A bit unfair, given who Aris is, but when she tries to coach Neru, she took so long to learn that she forgot about her mission and had to be pulled away by Akane in a stereotypical mother-and-daughter bit.
    • In Alabaster Calling Card, if this exchange about Little Menace is any indicator, then she doesn't fare too well with human opponents either.
Gamer A: You're the one who spams ultimates until one connects whenever you're backed into a corner, right?
Gamer A: Right, right! Hey, is it true that if you lose you won't let the other player go home until you beat them? And that if you can't beat them, you'll break the machine and run away screaming?!
  • Japanese Delinquents: Neru is a prime example of the stereotypical Japanese yanki, or female delinquent.
  • Made of Iron: She survives getting completely battered by Toki in Abi-Eshuh, as well as falling about five stories to faceplant into concrete, and still has enough energy to get back up for a couple more rounds till she actually beats Toki, only then allowing herself to pass out.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: She goes against Rio's cold-blooded orders to take in Aris for an execution in Vol. 2 Chp. 2. Unfortunately, Rio foresaw this and had Neru dealt with by not calling in the other C&C clubmates and had Toki on standby.
  • Tsundere: Is this around Sensei. During the Bunny Chaser on Board event, Akane speculates that Sensei was asked to tag along with C&C's mission because they were the only person that Neru would listen to willingly, thus preventing her from running amok. Naturally, Neru wholly denies this.

The latest agent of C&C. A cool, almost robotic professional, she serves as Rio's personal bodyguard.

  • Call-Back: She appears in Alabaster Calling Card with the same Bunny Girl getup as her upperclassmen in Bunny Chaser on Board, thinking that it's how they operate infiltration works in general.
  • Combat Pragmatist: She's not afraid of using stealth to ambush Neru, and does it again against all of C&C by commanding Eridu's buildings to separate the maids.
  • The Comically Serious: Toki is a stoic, deadpan expert who also happens to be a weirdo with very limited social skills, which only makes it funnier when she gets into shenanigans with a completely straight face.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life:
    • Having served Rio for most of her student life, she's suddenly left behind when the president resigns and disappears to who knows where after the end of Vol. 2 Chp. 2, which then led to her seeking out her fellow C&C maids for guidance on maid work. This also becomes the focus of her Relationship Stories where she serves Sensei as her new master.
    • Played for Laughs in the Alabaster Calling Card event when Sensei comes over to Seminar for a request, where half of the prologue is her passive-aggressively complaining to them about being left idle ever since Rio left, despite her replying she's isn't miffed at all.
  • A Day in the Limelight: She features as a bunny girl in Alabaster Calling Card: Mansion Masquerade and the Essence of Beauty, on a separate but same mission as the Game Development Department (who are now maids) to guard a priceless artwork.
  • Does Not Know How to Say "Thanks":
    • In Alabaster Calling Card, after an encounter with the Benevolent Thief, she compliments Toki "intentional, confident" movements, which flies over her head, leading the Thief to lampshade this.
Benevolent Thief: ...Don't take compliments often, do you?
    • Shortly after Toki and the Game Development Department repel the Benevolent Thief, she goes silent and stares at them. This puts the GDD, who is still sore after the end of Volume 2 Chapter 2, at even more of an edge, until it turns out that Toki really doesn't know how to express her gratitude.
  • The Dragon: To Rio in Volume 2, Chapter 2, being her personally assigned bodyguard.
  • Easily Forgiven: When C&C celebrates Neru’s discharge from the hospital in the last episode of Volume 2 Chapter 2, Toki surprises everyone by dropping in on their party to learn from her seniors. Despite being the one to fight C&C and send Neru to the hospital in the first place, the other C&C members bear no grudge towards Toki. Even Neru relents as well in the end.
  • Instant Costume Change: The stealth suit Rio personally designed for her is simply Toki removing her sleeves and long skirt. This gets Played for Laughs during her first Relationship Story, where she starts stripping in the middle of a crowded street and the watchers assume Sensei ordered the maid to do so.
  • Magnetic Weapons: In combat, the Abi-Eshuh mech's EX Skill is a pair of railguns. However, this attack destroys the mech, forcing Toki to use another EX skill to summon a replacement.
  • More Dakka: Her Abi-Eshuh powered suit mounts six GAU-17/A miniguns in the arm-pods, each capable of firing a hundred rounds per second.
  • No Social Skills: Her time spent mainly as Rio's bodyguard bereft her of most chances to interact with any other people, leaving her very quirky and nearly incapable of adapting to school life during her Relationship Stories. It's also part of "The Reason You Suck" Speech Himari gives to Rio in Vol. F about neglecting her own subordinate.
  • Powered Armour: As her playable incarnation's EX Skill, she can call down and mount a powered battlesuit called Abi-Eshuh, which she was authorized to use as Rio's intended trump card against an awakened Aris only to be used against against C&C during Volume 2 Chapter 2. It drew upon Eridu's energy to make incredible calculations, allowing Toki to evade or shoot down any attack aimed at her, but without Eridu, it's combat potential gets hampered.
  • Redemption Demotion: Justified in that to begin with, Abi-Eshuh's Bullet Time enhancement was powered by Eridu. Himari warns Toki on how weak but serviceable it remains when the maid puts it into action during the Final Volume.
  • Stealth Expert:
    • Her most notable trait, going so far as being the one maid C&C never knew (Akane alone only knew of her), not to mention having a dedicated stealth outfit put to use in her fights against Neru and C&C.
    • During Alabaster Calling Card, she infiltrates the event and cleans up messes in the blink of an eye without breaking a sweat or anyone noticing. This is despite her not being intentionally stealthy and working in plain sight.

Engineering Club

    Associated Tropes
  • Pom-Pom Girl: The trio wear cheerleading outfits in the On Your Mark Millennium event. Utaha is the sole exception who dons a gakuran; Kotori more or less does fine in hers, but the already shy Hibiki wears one a size too small that'll have her flipping her skirt with every shake of her pom-poms.
  • Skewed Priorities: The trio have a very bad habit of constantly adding extra unneeded features, simply because it looks cool, never mind how impractical or a waste of resources it is, while choosing to purposely ignore critical issues that anyone with an ounce of common sense would spot from a mile away.
    • In Volume 2, Utaha and Kotori spent most of their budget creating a Railgun that wouldn't be out of place on an intergalactic warship... only for no one (until Aris came about) to be able to wield it due to how absurdly heavy it was. The worst part was that they were completely aware of this flaw, and still proceeded to make it. Their reasoning? Because lasers are cool.
Kotori: It took 70% of this semester's budget just to make this one gun. To make an intergalactic battleship, we are going to need a thousand more.
Momoi: Why would you make this gun in the first place?!
Utaha: What a disappointing question, Momoi. It's simple, really. It's because... we love laser beams!
    • In the event story On Your Mark Millennium, they completely chose to forgo basic cyber security just to focus on making their cheerbot look cooler and to add more unneeded features. This allows a rogue group to hijack it for their own purposes.
Chihiro: You go all out adding unnecessary functions to your inventions, but cyber security is just an afterthought?
Utaha: Calling them unnecessary functions seems a bit harsh...we needed this robot to be able to interact with a large audience while managing complicated equipment, so security was...the first thing we cut. Which I acknowledged was not our best judgement. We definitely also figured out we had a brilliant security advisor a few doors down if anything happened...and we ended up cutting a few corners.
Chihiro: Don't use me as a crutch. Every single one of you gives me migraines.
      • In the second part of the event, Chihiro is once again left speechless at what they chose to install on their cheerbot. It was basically a super tank by that point in time that was running circles around everyone else and causing a lot of trouble.
Utaha: And as much as I wish we did, we don't have unlimited funds. Picking out the most important features that will satisfy the client's needs if our main priority.
Chihiro: If that's the case, why did you add a machine gun to it?
Utaha: What do you mean? That fifteen millimeter machine gun is vital!
  • Super-Powered Robot Meter Maids: A recurring problem with everything they make. Several of their jobs are mentioned, and every single one of them features functions that are either completely out of place (often random guns added to otherwise harmless designs) or spectacularly overkill (like outfitting a coffee machine with a giant drill for the sole purpose of grinding beans). Noa did at least think that equipping Seminar's vacuum cleaner with a flamethrower to deal with really dirty stuff was Actually Pretty Funny... but Yuuka very much did not.
  • Swiss-Army Gun: One of their inventions is a handgun with Bluetooth and NFC. Hibiki mentioned it is capable of using mobile wallets. Crossover with Too Dumb to Live, as Momoi points out that using a gun to do such things would easily have everyone else think that you are trying to rob them or commit a crime in broad daylight.
  • Wrench Wench: They are the "Engineering" Club after all, and they’re good at their job when it comes down to it (ignoring whatever unnecessary mods they add in their creations).

A shy member of the Engineering Club. She has a passion for cosplay and costume-making.

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her cheerleader version is this in a nutshell. For a welfare unit, Hibiki has an incredibly high attack; her EX skill deals good damage and covers a very large radius, making it a nuke that can hit hard while leaving burn damage that lasts for 2 whole minutes as an aftermath, and her passive skill increases her already huge attack to even more absurd levels and provides bonus damage based on how far the target is. So what's the problem? Her attack speed is so horrifically slow to the point that entire enemy teams can be defeated before she even loads the first shot—worse, her skill while devastating, costs a whopping 7 points, rendering using her incredibly hard unless you have characters who can cut cost or provide cost regeneration.
  • Death from Above: Currently the only character in the entire game to pack a mortar into combat, and she puts it to extremely good use.
  • Hidden Depths: She has a penchant for cosplaying, despite not mentioning it much. It gets brought to the forefront at the Kourin Taisai sports festival, as the Engineering Club dress up as cheerleaders—much to the shy Hibiki's complete embarrassment.
  • Ironic Name: Her surname has the Japanese kanji "neko" (cat), however she has the ears and tail of a dog.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She has dog ears and a tail, notably being the only one in her club, if not all of Millennium’s named students so far to have this.
  • Old Shame: Her embarrassment over having to cheer isn't just out of shyness: the cheerleader outfits are some of the first costumes she's ever made and the craftmanship is shoddy by her current standards. Not to mention that since they're a few years old, the skirt went from titillatingly short to legitimately too small and a running Panty Shot hazard (especially with her tail). The others do not mind, seeing how the design itself is fantastic and how no one's going to look at them up close anyway.
  • Shrinking Violet: Hibiki is noticeably quiet and shy, preferring to keep to herself whenever possible. When she gets made to put on a cheerleader outfit and dance in front of all of Kivotos at the Kourin Taisai Sports Festival, she's beside herself with embarrassment.

  • Not So Above It All: Despite her status as a walking encyclopedia, When Sensei asked her to describe herself and her hobbies during her Bond Stories, she gets flustered and hightails it away out of embarrassment.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: If one where to ask Kotori about herself and her hobbies, expect her to become very hesitant, which is exemplified in her Memorial Lobby.

President of the Engineering Club. Her passion is the most outward of her club.

  • All-Cheering All the Time: Where her usual personality was a chill, easygoing in-between of Kotori's and Hibiki's, her cheerleading outfit suddenly has her belting out salutes and Hot-Blooded cheers, practically leading her club as befitting the president. In gameplay, Utaha (Cheer Squad)'s usual action is to cheer her turret on, which somehow improves its attacks.
  • Bifauxnen: She is taller and less curvy compared to most of the other girls, with a noticeably deeper voice and a speech pattern that's largely associated with this trope. Her cheerleader outfit even shows her in a male Japanese cheering squad get-up rather than the skimpy, midriff-baring American-inspired uniforms that the other girls wear.
  • The Turret Master: Her EX Skill summons a turret named Thundergun the player can drop, while her Basic Skill summons a smaller turret somewhere around the students. Upgrading her Unique Equipment has the Basic Skill summon three at once.
  • Wrench Wench: Spends her free time fixing and tinkering with machines.

She's got her mind set on exercise, her café chibi animation have her lifting a dumbbell without stopping, and she gets genuinely confused by people not liking fitness or not keeping up with her.
    • She tries to subvert this when going out with Sensei in her Relationship Story as a break from exercise, but tends to wind up discussing exercise-related topics anyway.
    • In On Your Marks!, her club members slipped away during training... understandably, because it's happening in the middle of the night. Sumire says the anaerobic exercises were 'only' four hours a day at most.

  • A Day in the Limelight: They are the focus club for the Decagrammaton event series, investigating the origin of the titular AI and putting a stop to its prophets however they can. They are later joined by Toki as of Episode 13 and onwards, which takes place after Volume F.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: Eimi and Himari play these roles respectively in the Decagrammaton event story, the latter being prone to rambling and going off on tangents, typically about how great she is and how Millennium's president Rio is not, with Eimi having to step in and keep her on track several times.

  • Delicate and Sickly: She invokes this on purpose for her image, very, ''very'' often boasting how appealing she is this way. It's not made clear whether she really needs the wheelchair or just uses it to play the part.
  • Emotions vs. Stoicism: This is more or less what her relationship is with Rio, being the Emotions against Rio's Stoicism despite their cooperation in Volume 2.
  • Enemy Mine: With Rio, despite their usual animosity. It falls apart almost instantly when Chapter 2 starts.
  • Leitmotif: OperationD, a hard glitch-hop inspired track, which accompanies Himari in the Decagrammaton events.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Was this together with Rio, engineering the conflict of Vol 2, Chapter 1 as a test for Aris/Alice to determine her true nature.
  • Narcissist: She's not the least embarrassed or hesitant about complimenting herself or accepting praise, whether it's about her good looks or hacking skills, the latter of which she definitely has a lot of to back her claims up.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: In the Final Volume, she gives a long, harsh, and reasonable one to Rio, especially about her treatment of Toki, who Rio basically used as a disposable tool

  • Cloudcuckoolander: She's ditzy and tends to perform actions in the most efficient way possible. Of course, one of her hobbies is literally ''spacing out''.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Invoked; somehow, her body temperature is higher than average, that combined with her obsession with efficiency, she sees no reason why she can't wear a bra... -like clothing in the 'heat' to cool down where other students feel fine. Her Swimsuit version makes clear how high this cold tolerance is, where she's wearing a bikini in Kivotos' frozen arctic ocean region, because, according to her, it's still the ocean. Given that her "scarf" is actually a cooling blanket, it apparently still isn't cold enough for her.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Despite having one of the most revealing outfits in the game, she is content with walking around with her underwear exposed as she believes it to be the most efficient method of cooling down. During her Recollection Lobby episode, she was also willing to change her top right in front of Sensei, noting that the changing rooms were cramped and thus were inefficient.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Eimi wields a SPAS-12 shotgun called "Multi-tactical", as is expected of someone who focuses on efficiency.
  • Straight Man: As seen in the Decagrammaton event story, she acts like a Deadpan Snarker towards Himari whenever the latter tries to toot her own horn.
  • Stripperific: For the sake of cooling herself down in the most efficient way possible, she wears a bra, minding not in the slightest of how much skin she shows off to the public. Her Swimsuit version qualifies as is natural... except that she's wearing it in the middle of an arctic ocean region because she claims it's an ocean even if there aren't any sweltering beaches, so, swimsuit.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: What she confesses to feeling like in one bond episode, that she connects more with Sensei than other girls her age and not understanding fashion trends.

Game Development Department

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gdd_new.jpg
L - R: Aris, Momoi, Yuzu, Midori
Four girls who has desire to develop and play games, despite their club being a major target to Seminar's headaches.

They are about to be disbanded due to lack of activities that benefit Seminar and previously having lack of members until they found a girl in the ruins they explore and becoming a member as well, with her mysterious nature being a main drive and conflict in the main story.

They are the main focus club in Main Scenario Volume 2: Clockwork Flower Pavane.
    Associated Tropes
  • Badass Crew: Combine with Took a Level in Badass. When first introduced, they were a dysfunctional group barely keeping themselves together, but through events thick and thin, they grew into a solid team that functions like a well-oiled machine; this is best shown in Volume F and especially in the event Alabaster Calling Card, where due to Momoi's mistake, they get mistaken for the C&C crew. Nevertheless, they were able to perform well enough as stand-ins, and even earn Neru's approval at the very end.
  • Club Stub: At the start of Volume 2, the group faces imminent shutdown for only having three names in their registry: Yuzu, Momoi & Midori. The sudden addition of Aris barely helped their situation.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The entire club stars in Alabaster Calling Card: Mansion Masquerade and the Essence of Beauty dressed as maids because they were mistaken for C&C and asked to guard an artwork from the Benevolent Thief, alongside Toki (now a bunny girl).
  • Leitmotif: Pixel Time is closely associated with the Game Development Department.
  • Poor With Money: The spin off manga that centers around them reveals that while their games later on becomes hits and is able to earn money, it constantly gets squander by Yuzu, Midori and especially Momoi, often making Yuuka angry at how high their unnecessary expenses are. Aris is the only one subverts this troupe.
  • Stylistic Suck: Their focus on 16-bit games are already this by Millenium students' standards, which makes recruiting hard already. Their debut game "Tales Chronicle Saga", however, takes it up a notch, with the few snippets we get of it has fake prompts within the tutorial. Coupled with its seemingly Excuse Plot for an RPG, and it's no wonder it got the Worst Game Award.
  • Technician Versus Performer: Momoi and Midori's respective approaches to game design are pretty much an homage to John Romero and John Carmack's dynamic. Momoi wants games to be cool and unique, throws around all kinds of wild ideas during the brainstorming process, and usually starts designing games from an artistic viewpoint. Midori, in contrast, prefers to be practical and efficient, relying on things that they're certain they can pull off, and thinks about gameplay first. Despite her shyness, Yuzu ends up having to mediate whenever they start arguing... which is often.
  • Theme Naming: They're all named after, of all things, famous H-Game developers. Yuzu is named after Yuzusoft, the Saiba twins are named after Cyberworks and take their color schemes from their main brands TinkerBell and WendyBell, and Aris takes her name from AliceSoft. This even extends to <Key>, who's named after Key/Visual Arts.
  • The Load: Outside of the game development and fighting, most of them have no noteworthy skills. In the spin off manga that centers around them, all of them completely and repeatedly fumble every part time job they tried to do. Everyone except Aris, who constantly ends up having to do not only her own share, but also theirs as well.

The Department's president, who spends most of her time hiding in her clubroom's locker in fear of bullies. However, she has a reputation preceding her identity as a gamer of godlike skill.

  • Bavarian Fire Drill: She pretends to be a Seminar member when Neru appears during the assault into Seminar's contraband storage, causing Neru to misunderstand the situation and letting the Game Development Department get away without a battle.
  • Berserk Button: She does not like gamers who are toxic or those who use cheats or exploit bugs to win their games. In the side story, where Momoi constantly loses to a toxic gamer who abuses an exploitable bug in game to win her matches, she quickly decides to take over Momoi's role after seeing her friend get talked down to by someone like her. She easily defeats her despite that gamer trying to exploit the same bug and demands that she apologizes to Momoi afterwards.
  • Godlike Gamer: In the Game Development Department's sub-story and her Relationship story, it turns out that she is a legendary gamer, being able to perfect-win Sensei more than 10 times even after putting herself in more and more handicaps.
  • Shout-Out: Her Maid alternate outfit is one huge walking, talking Metal Gear Solid reference—complete with cardboard box for stealth (with sides labelled "The Yuzu". A yuzu is a citrus fruit, like an orange) and the original game's interface in her EX Skill.
  • Shrinking Violet: Yuzu is really shy, to the point where she rarely if ever leaves the clubroom and is way too adept at hiding inside lockers. Justified as she has been the victim of harassment in the past and is terrified of it, although Sensei helps her open up a bit.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: More of a "Pink Oni, Green Oni"; nevertheless, the cool and collected Midori is definitely the blue to her hot-blooded, easily excitable twin sister Momoi's red.
  • Ship Tease: While both sisters like Sensei, it's implied Midori takes her interest to something more than "student and teacher" than Momoi.
    • Her voice lines show a lot of evidence that Midori likes Sensei, where one line has her say she wants Sensei all to herself without Momoi and asks Sensei if they could hold hands. Plus, she's always more polite to Sensei than when she is with people around her age.
    • During her Valentine's Day Event, Midori is seemingly the first girl to give Sensei chocolate at 7 AM. Even then, her chocolate is homemade compared to Momoi's whose chocolate is from an arcade they were. She then tries to give a speech practiced by her and her sister and asks Sensei to give their opinion on her chocolate... later the day while she skedaddles away embarrassed, leaving Sensei puzzled. Midori's affection for Sensei is all too obvious.
  • Status Buff: Midori's passive skill "Developer Synergy: Pink" applies an ATK SPD bonus to her when she and Momoi are deployed together.
  • Twin Telepathy: A downplayed version, as neither her nor her sister has any form of psychic powers or sorts. However, the two have been able to work so well when in unison, that a normal person would easily mistaken them for such. Even Akane was initially caught off guard by how well the two had fought as one.

  • Can't Take Criticism: Hearing criticism regarding the Game Development Department's works often whips her into a frenzy, despite the glaring issues that the games have.
  • Cool Big Sis: As the older twin between her and Midori, she paints herself as this.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The foolish to Midori's responsible.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Her philosophy boils down to being incredibly reckless, from illegally entering Millennium's ruins to stuffing all sorts of genres and tropes that clash with each other for her club's games—which likely led to Worst Game Award-winner "Tales Chronicle Saga". This forces Midori to put her foot down when that happens, although in times of trouble, her daring is ultimately what helps her friends move forward when they get paralyzed by indecision.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: More of a "Pink Oni, Green Oni"; nevertheless, the energetic and expressively emotional Momoi is definitely the red to her unflappable twin sister Midori's blue.
  • Status Buff: Momoi's passive skill "Developer Synergy: Green" applies an ATK bonus to her when she and Midori are deployed together.
  • Sore Loser: Momoi does not take losing well, even if it's just a game. She's the type who would demand others for rematches whenever she loses, and even throws a tantrum if they don't accept her challenge. Some people in the arcade would rather avoid playing with her, or even lose on purpose if it meant getting away from her, or to stop her tantrum.
  • Twin Telepathy: A downplayed version, as neither her nor her sister has any form of psychic powers or sorts. However, the two have been able to work so well when in unison that a normal person would easily mistaken them for such. Even Akane was initially caught off guard by how well the two had fought as one.

The Game Development Department's latest member, having been found in ruins near Millennium during Vol. 2, Chp. 1. After being taken in by the Department and allowed to play dozens of video games as her introduction to civilization, she has since then styled herself as a bright-eyed fantasy hero living life like a game.

  • Absurd Phobia: Having a bout with Neru at the end of Volume 2, Chapter 1 left her with a fear of maids for a while. While she's able to grow over it eventually and become much more friendly toward C&C later on (though still having a fear of Neru specifically), she's still hesitant when asked to wear a maid outfit until the rest of the Game Development Club and Sensei managed to convince her to.
Aris: Um... Please keep anything wearing a maid outfit away from me from now on.
  • All-Loving Hero: In Volume F Chapter 3, she doesn't want Kay and Rio to suffer anymore despite all they did to her and her friends in the previous chapter.
  • Apocalypse Maiden: Aris (or at least her current body) was created as a weapon to purge all of Kivotos alongside the "Enigmatic Legion" Divi:Sion, essentially bringing forth apocalypse.
  • BFG: The massive weapon she carries around is a customized railgun meant to be mounted on a yet-to-be-built spaceship courtesy of the Engineering Club. Despite the large size disparity, Aris can wield and operate it with relative ease.
  • Continuity Nod: Her Maid variant has her holding a broom with a boxy robot hanging onto the end. This is a robot figurine of the inactive Kay, whose digital remains have been built into it by Himari in the aftermath of Volume F.
  • Despair Event Horizon: As if losing control and hurting her closest friends and even putting one into a coma wasn't bad enough. Rio then makes an appearance, telling her that she's too dangerous to live. She tells everyone the truth of how she is an Apocalypse Maiden and that she needs to die for the good of everyone. She then proceeds to rip her apart mentally and emotionally. One by one, she tears down any form of defense with no hesitation, driving home one point after another about how she's deluded herself into being a hero when she was in reality the villain and how her presence is only hurting people. By the time she's done, Arisu is completely broken and surrenders herself under the belief that it is for the best. Allowing herself to be taken away to be executed with no resistance.
  • Foreshadowing: Though she has no memory of her origins or the reason for her creation, Aris is said by the Engineering Department to be designed for war when they examine her in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 reveals why: She's the intended leader of Divi:Sion, a faction of robots that want to wipe out all life in Kivotos, so she's designed for war against humanity.
  • Gathering Steam: A variant. "Bright Light!" increases her critical damage, but also increases her Energy gauge up to two tiers, which can be converted into extra damage with her EX Skill.
  • Genki Girl: She's most often portrayed as being very energetic.
  • Gondor Calls for Aid: When she's kidnapped by Rio, pretty much all of Millennium bands together to save her. Not only do her fellow Video Game Development Club members lead the charge, but also Veritas, the Engineering Club, C&C, Seminar, and even the Athletic Training Club all do their part to save Aris.
  • Hyper Competent Side Kick: In the spin off manga, when the group runs out of funding due to Momoi, Midori and Yuzu's overspending of money, the group are forced to take up various side jobs in an attempt to make some money. However, every job they take, they just fail at doing every job they take. All with the exception of Aris, who practically has to not only do her own share, but theirs as well. By the end of the chapter, Aris is paid many times more than her regular amount due to her picking up the slack of every one else.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: Officially her name is spelled "Aris", while in the Japanese version she's called "Arisu", and she is sometimes referred as "Alice" by fans because "Arisu" is also Romaji for "Alice". "Alice" is also the name displayed on her railgun's screen.
  • It's All My Fault: After she momentarily awoken and reverted back to her Killer Robot personality, she lashes out at Veritas and the Game Development Club. During this time, she injures a number of them, with Momoi being the worst of them all. She ended up beating her into a coma. When she comes back to her senses, the knowledge of what she did causes her to suffer an emotional breakdown and locks herself away.
  • Killer Robot: What she's ACTUALLY meant to be, created by Divi:Sion to lead them in purging Kivotos when the ATRAHASIS Protocol activates.
  • Logical Weakness: Her Railgun packs a serious punch that laid an ordinary student like Asuna in Volume 2 Chapter 1 flat and stops them from getting back up soon, but it can't be fired at close range or Aris risks hurting herself and those around her. Aris is aware of this and attempts to use the railgun like a club if anyone were to get close to her in a battle.
  • Loved by All: In Vol. 2 Chp. 2, Aris's adventures around Millennium being friendly to every student she sees has earned her the favor of nearly the entire student population.
  • Meaningful Name: Played with. During Volume F, to cap off her character arc from Volume 2, Aris happily points out that her name... means absolutely nothing. Momoi made it up from her model number in the spur of the moment. And since her name has no meaning, then she can be whatever she wants to be. She then extends the reasoning to "Kay", who also bears a made-in-Momoi nickname, to tell her that she doesn't need to follow her programming to the letter to live.
  • Naked on Arrival: She was found naked when Midori, Momoi and Sensei happen upon her in Millennium's forbidden ruins.
  • Red Herring: Due to the fact the Game Development club discovered her in the ruins of Millennium, which is where the Decagrammaton prophet Chesed is known to be active, she was suspected of having ties to Decagrammaton itself, possible even one of its Prophets. While her ties Decagrammaton were later disproven by Himari, she still represent a far worse threat with the revelation that she is the Princess of the Nameless Gods.
  • Shout-Out: Her Maid alternate outfit is chock-full of references to classic games - the EX Skill references both Luigi's Mansion (complete with SFX) and Mega Man's charge bar, and her basic skill is literally just the sharpening motion from Monster Hunter. Her affection-up animation in the cafe is also a straight up Dragon Ball Z Super Saiyan 2 aura, complete with sparks of electricity.
  • Spock Speak: When she was found by the Game Development Department, Aris spoke with an emotionless and robotic tone. One full night of video games later, her speech is modified into full on JRPG dialogue. Level up! She flips back into into it in Chapter 2 whenever her Killer Robot programming takes hold, even referring to herself as AL-1S.
  • Strong, but Unskilled: According to Utaha, Aris has a body designed for war; she has Super-Strength, being able to effortlessly lift a BFG that no one else could, Nanomachines that gives her a Healing Factor and other various features. However, due to her amnesia, her mentality has been reduced to that of a little girl, leaving her with no skill in fighting and thus relies on her powerful weapon to do most of the work. But by the time of Volume F and events that take place afterwards, this trope no longer applies—during the Alabaster Calling Card event, Aris has grown in skill to adapt and emulate the skills of other people she knew, such as mimicking Karin's pinpoint sniping to blast a boulder from over 800 meters and pulverize it using her railgun, and again to snipe Akira and catch her by surprise. Even Sensei's worries about the dangers of using a heavy weapon like a railgun inside a mansion were quickly put to rest when she demonstrated great control of its energy usage and accurate shooting.
  • Third-Person Person: In the Japanese script, she forgoes the use of normal first-person pronouns in favor of referring to herself as "Aris."
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Despite being a weapon of Armageddon, Arisu would rather die than hurt those closest to her. After Rio completely breaks her mentally and emotionally, she surrenders herself with no resistance, under the belief that it's better for everyone if she dies so that no one else would get hurt.
  • Wave-Motion Gun:
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: She's become something of one ever since she played video games, believing in the magic and wonder those games show her to be something that she can find in real life as well. She says as much to Sensei in her last Relationship Story, that the proof lies in her being happy at that moment playing a video game together.
Aris: I believe magic exists in Kivotos as well. It must. How else could you make me so happy, Sensei? Games are fun because they reflect the beauty of the world. You taught me that. Games, cats, friends... and even this moment. The world is full of beautiful things.
