Highlander Railway Academy is one of the schools in Blue Archive, and currently one of the two known schools to not have recruitable students. They are responsible for train management in Kivotos.

Unlike other schools, which have their own dedicated districts, Highlander has none and instead operate based on railway sections all across Kivotos.

Choo, choo! Hop on aboard and discover our tropes while travelling to your destination:

  • A Day in the Limelight: They make their first appearance during the Trip-Trap-Train event, being the ones running the titular train.

  • Ambiguously Related: There are hints that that Suou may have some sort of relation to Nonomi. In particular, she has similar hair and eye color to Nonomi, her halo has three points just like Nonomi's, and her surname means "morning mist" as a counterpart to Nonomi's "sixteen nights". Nonomi also notes that family essentially owns Highlander and had she enrolled there as intended, she likely would have been in Suou's position by now.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Suou is more than willing to hear out Sensei and the Foreclosure Task Force while reining in the Tachibana twins after their reckless assault on the Trans-Abydos Railway.

  • Call-Back: They seem to hold a grudge against Sensei for the events of Trip-Trap Train.
  • Meaningful Name: Both Nozomi and Hikari are named after Shinkansen high-speed rail services - fittingly for a pair of Highlander students. However, it is also worth noting that the same names were used for rail services in occupied Korea during the Second World War, which, considering Blue Archive is a Korean game first and foremost, is an important detail.
  • Multi-Track Drifting: The twins pull this off literally, speeding up and jumping tracks with their locomotive to block the Foreclosure Task Force's train.
  • Trickster Twins: Absolutely. Even before their proper introduction, the community had already come up with "Shupogaki" ("shupo" being the Japanese onomatopoeia for a running train, so essentially "choo-choo brats") as a Fan Nickname - and later Ascended Fan Nickname - on account of their smug expressions. Their in-game debut only solidified their status, as the pair attempt to take over the Trans-Abydos Railway and can be seen messing around, making faces, and even dancing on their gun turret as they fight the Abydos Foreclosure Task Force.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Nozomi's red. While both Tachibana twins are cheeky brats in their own way, Hikari's movements and speech patterns are far more subdued compared to her sister Nozomi.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Hikari's blue. While both Tachibana twins are cheeky brats in their own way, Nozomi's far more expressive and energetic compared to her sister Hikari.
