One of the ten playable schools in Blue Archive. As one of the largest and oldest schools, it runs on the philosophy of "Freedom and Chaos". Because of this, many troublesome clubs or groups (e.g. Problem Solver) exist and use the main building and club building whenever and however they please. This has forced the other students to study in only select areas of the campus.

Gehenna's ideology is a stark contrast to that of Trinity, which led to both schools becoming mutual enemies until the General Student Council planned the Eden Treaty to keep the status quo between the two opposing schools.

Gehenna's tropes are hell in a handbasket:

  • At Least I Admit It: This turns out to be a big difference between Trinity and Gehenna's students, tying into their own ideal of freedom. Yes, they're a loud, destructive and rambunctious lot...and they'll never pretend to be anything else. With Gehenna, what you see is almost always what you get. Meanwhile Trinity's students, while presenting themselves as and usually acting much more polite, helpful and kind than their counterparts, increasingly turn out to have quite sneaky, manipulative, nasty and in some cases downright hateful and violent sides to them beneath their outward politeness and good manners.
  • Chaotic Stupid: While armed students causing destruction is an all too common sight in Kivotos, Gehenna has Problem Solver 68, the Gourmet Research Society, and the Hot Spring Department. And wherever these innocuous-sounding clubs go, Fire Means Chaos, courtesy of them. And then there's the Pandemonium Society who run the entire school, consisting of an egotistical moron, a slacker, and a womanchild.
  • Demon Lords and Archdevils: All students from Gehenna so far have horns and wings on their backs that invoke fantasy demon archetypes, not to mention names like the biblical "Gehenna" itself and "Pandemonium".
  • Red Is Violent:
    • Gehenna's dominant color is red, and they play host to some of Kivotos' most rambunctious and dangerous clubs. Their student council is no better.
    • Somewhat averted with the Prefect Team, whom often end up being one of the only groups trying to keep order, though even they tend to play straight such as Iori and Ako invading Abydos to kidnap Sensei without Hina's knowledge.
  • The Rival:
    • To the angelic Trinity General School.
    • They also serve as a foil to the Arius Satellite School; Gehenna's ideology favors freedom, even if that freedom breeds chaos. In contrast, Arius is authoritarian and creates chaos entirely on purpose.

    Hanuma Makoto

Come on! Sensei! It is time to push forward together with us, the "Pandemonium Society!"
Affiliation: Pandemonium Society
Age: 18
Birthday: March 19
Height: 169cm
Hobbies: Crafting stratagems, tricking others, playing with Ibuki
Illustrator: 春夏冬ゆう (design), DoReMi (artwork)

  • A-Cup Angst: When Hasumi comes to Pandemonium for a diplomatic visit, Makoto is immediately on the defensive when she notices Hasumi's breast size, and even starts to think Trinity deliberately sent Hasumi over to intimidate her.
  • Funny Afro: Her otherwise-straight hair turns into one whenever she gets blown up, whether it’s from her EX Skill or the aftermath of Arius destroying the Society’s zeppelin.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Her EX Skill has her call in a massive artillery strike. However, she appears to have read the map upside down. As a result, the last shell of the barrage hits her squarely, doing no real damage (being a student, if not also because she's Special-armored) but leaving her all scorched and making her hair poof up like what happened in V3C3.
  • Idiot Ball: Grabs onto it with both hands when she decides to ally with and become The Mole for Arius, providing them weapons and supplies, to ambush the signing of the Eden Treaty to pin the blame on Trinity, forgetting the small detail that while Arius definitely despises Trinity for expelling them, they also hate Gehenna as well. Sure enough, the Pandemonium Society's new zeppelin has been rigged with explosives and is targeted by a cruise missile strike during the attack on the Eden Treaty, blowing it out of the sky. Fortunately, they all survive.
  • Large Ham: Makoto can get pretty loud at times, especially when she's pissed or she thinks she's finally won Sensei over to Gehenna's side.
  • The Leader: She's the president of the Pandemonium Society. Yes, her, a Sitcom Archnemesis who annoys the Prefect Team just because, keeps trying to lure Sensei over to her side, drops everything for Ibuki's sake, and became The Mole for Arius against Trinity while not realizing they hate Gehenna too. She seems to present herself as a Mastermind, except she's way too whimsical and chaotic to do it effectively.
  • Morality Pet: Ibuki is this for her, to the point that Makoto goes out of her way to lend aid to the Ninjutsu Research Club as they're being overwhelmed during the Final Volume, via airdropping a tank from her zeppelin, driven by her and Iroha, solely because Ibuki likes them.
Iroha: So we came all this way...just for Ibuki?
Makoto: Just for Ibuki, she says! What could be more important than getting Ibuki to like me?
  • Obstructive Bureaucrat: She tries to throw as much red tape in the way of the Prefect Team such as auditing them and burying them in pointless paperwork and meetings, solely out of a petty grudge against them.
  • Stupid Crooks: Makoto is what can only be described as "aggressively stupid", and while she doesn't always mean harm, her haughtiness and arrogance often end up clouding her better judgement - such as when she had Iroha audit the Prefect Team and be as annoying as possible because she felt like it, only for Hina to catch wind of it and destroy a quarter of the Pandemonium Society's building. Makoto pretended the audit didn't happen.
  • Skewed Priorities: After waking up in hospital after the Pandemonium Society's zeppelin is shot out of the sky during Arius' attack in V3C3, Makoto immediately begins raising hell and loudly raging against Arius... for daring to damage her hair, which was badly singed in the explosion.
  • Too Dumb to Live: For some reason, she thought it was a perfectly good idea to ally with Arius, a rogue splinter of Trinity that was banished because they hated Gehenna to such an extent that even the rest of Trinity wanted nothing to do with them. She's extremely lucky that students are Made of Iron otherwise she would have been killed when her airship is destroyed by Arius.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Is this to Arius, to an even greater extent than Mika. While it's debatable whether or not Arius would have been willing to join with Trinity, even for the sake of striking back at Gehenna, there's no question that Arius were only ever using Makoto for supplies and weapons, actively aiming to dispose of her along with the rest of Gehenna and Trinity's leadership in V3C3 when they launch their ambush on the Eden Treaty signing ceremony.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: On the receiving end of this from the Arius Branch in V3C3, with them filling the Pandemonium Society's zeppelin transport with explosives and then targeting it with a cruise missile strike as they launch their assault on the Eden Treaty ceremony, despite her helping them beforehand. Justified, as she is from Gehenna, whom Arius despises and would like nothing more than to wipe out.
  • We Can Rule Together: The crux of her Relationship Story's L2D scene, with Makoto offering Sensei a partnership and proclaiming that conquering Kivotos will be easy if they both work together at it.
Makoto: " Sensei of Schale, together with a Pandemonium Society...."
Makoto: "No, join hands with me, Makoto-sama!"
Makoto: "If we work together, conquering Kivotos will be simple!"
Makoto: "And when that happens, I'll offer up half of Kivotos to Schale...."

    Natsume Iroha

Hobbies: Reading, skipping classes

  • Berserk Button: About one of the few ways to motivate Iroha is to target or hurt Ibuki.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Very brilliant, and very lazy. The main reason she can get away with skipping classes is that she can ace her exams with little trouble anyway. She does at least take her major responsibilities as a member of Pandemonium seriously (and thanks for that, seeing how she is just about the only competent member) but she will take any excuse to dodge everything else and go slack off in a corner.
  • Fille Fatale: Or maybe not. In her relationship events, she's been ordered to somehow seduce Sensei to Gehenna's side, but she just took the job to have an excuse to hang out in the Schale office. She does prove surprisingly amazing at flirting despite her total lack of physical sex appeal... that is, if she could hold the role for more than thirty seconds before getting bored.
  • Only Sane Woman: Iroha takes this role in the An Unconcealed Heart story event, but it also seems to apply to her in general. The members of the Pandemonium Society only possess one neuron between the five of them. Iroha is the owner of said neuron and the only one who uses it.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Iroha isn't necessarily even a bad girl, but being under Makoto usually means she has to carry out her superior's insane and whimsical tasks, much to her chagrin. She'll do it, though, because listening to Makoto bitch and moan is a bigger pain in her ass than actually going out and doing whatever she wants.
  • Saw It in a Movie Once: During An Unconcealed Heart event, Iroha attempts to cross a broken bridge by the tank gun's recoil as she saw in a movie. It works.
  • The Slacker: Slightly subverted in that she follows orders despite her exasperating boss, but besides that, her bond stories show her slacking off at Schale once she's done trying to attract Sensei over to the Pandemonium Society, and getting Sensei to drop their work to slack off together. She even has her own personal break room at her garage.
  • Tank Goodness: Iroha's EX summons a Tiger 1 tank to the field, which has high attack power (scales with a portion of her attack) and a skill good for clearing mobs.

    Tanga Ibuki

Makoto-senpai entrusted Ibuki with this job, so Ibuki will do her best!
Affiliation: Pandemonium Society
Age: 11
Birthday: April 14
Height: 128cm
Hobbies: Doing homework, collecting stuffed animals
Illustrator: ビョルチ (byul_zzi)

  • Combination Attack: If Ibuki is on the field and Iroha deploys her tank, Ibuki will climb in and accompany Iroha, which changes her EX skill into the tank firing a massive shell and changes the EX icon into a combination of her and Iroha.
  • Cute Oversized Sleeves: She's The Cutie of the group and wears a jacket much, much too big for her.
  • The Cutie: Her stature, her childlike wonder and her cutesy mannerisms all come together to make Ibuki a very endearing girl who can charm just about anyone she interacts with.
  • The Heart: Is one of the only people who can rein in Iroha and Makoto, if only by distracting/charming them with her cuteness to the point that they're too busy fawning over her to do anything else.

  • Hypno Pendulum: She uses this to lead people to the shelter in Chapter F. It doesn't work, but they think she is funny and follow her.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Massive breasts contained in a frilly red bra plus red garters to go with it; what Hasumi is to Trinity, Satsuki is to Gehenna.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's at least a little taller than Makoto (who's not particularly short in the first place) and has a striking figure to go with it. Makoto even calls her over as a "countermeasure" when she interprets Trinity's envoy Hasumi as a way to intimidate the Gehenna delegation with her...assets.

    Associated Tropes
  • State Sec: Given Gehenna's German theme, they're an Expy of the Schutzstaffel. The problem is that this is Gehenna Academy we're talking about. Here, the Prefect Team is subordinate to the unhelpful Pandemonium Society, whose leader always annoys them just to demonstrate superiority, while the state they police is a bed of constant chaos where (non-lethal) gunfights and explosions are to be expected every day. Then there's the various clubs who venture out of Gehenna and become widely-known terrorists, which further drags the academy's reputation for other academies through the mud. The workload is trying on every member, most of all Hina, and they're likely the only reason why Gehenna hasn't gone down in flames for whatever reason.

Head prefect and widely renowned ace-in-the-hole of the Gehenna Academy Prefect Team.

  • 10-Minute Retirement: In Chapter 3 of the Trinity Arc, after fighting her way out of the Arius assault on the Eden Treaty signing, Hina retreats to her home and remains there until Sensei arrives to check on her. She reveals that she'd hoped the Eden Treaty going into effect would allow her to retire, with the Prefect Team no longer needing her thanks to having access to help from Trinity's Justice Task Force, having grown weary of the constant stress of holding Gehenna together essentially by herself with no real thanks from the Pandemonium Society. However, even after Sensei assures her that it's okay if she wants to sit out the fight and retire, Hina quickly changes her mind and leaves with them to lead the Prefect Team to victory once more.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Can be called 'Hinature' by Sensei in her Relationship Events, depending on the player's choice, which she doesn't appreciate.
    • Kirara refers to her as "Hinacchi". She's more confused about it than anything else.
  • Always Someone Better: Sees Hoshino as this, because she's aware Hoshino was the one who found the Abydos Student Council President's body and carrying on all the debts by herself before the Foreclosure Task Force was created. Hina admits in that situation, she would have just given up.
  • The Chains of Commanding: Between Over Zealous Underling Ako and the Hot-Blooded Iori, along with Gehenna's numerous troublemaking groups like Problem Solver 68, the Gourmet Research Society and even the Pandemonium Society themselves, Hina's got an awful lot on her plate maintaining school order. She confides to Sensei in Vol. 3 that leading the Prefect Team has been tiring on her, and that she wants to step back from her duties once the Eden Treaty has been ratified, hoping that the additional assistance of the Trinity Justice Task Force will lighten the Prefect Team's responsibilities.
  • The Confidant: Arguably becomes this mutually with Sensei even as far back as Vol. 1, where Hina confided in them her knowledge of Kaiser Corp's activities out in the Abydos desert, then again during Vol. 3 in the run up to the Eden Treaty's signing about her hope of stepping back from the Prefect Team thanks to tiring of the toll being the Club President was taking on her.
  • Death Glare: Gives these out whenever she's particularly annoyed, complete with shadowed, faintly glowing eyes. She first gives one when she arrives at the scene of the Prefect Team's battle with the Abydos Task Force and Problem Solver 68, angry that Ako went behind her back and deployed Prefect Team forces into another school's district without authorization. She also gives one to Sensei in her first Relationship Event after getting fed up with their manchild antics. In battle, whenever Makoto uses her normal skill, she does this as well, including her dress alt.
  • Determinator: During Chapter 3 of the Trinity Arc, after the attack on the Eden Treaty ceremony has begun, the cathedral has been destroyed and Sensei has been injured, Hina fights alone through wave after wave of Arius ambushes and assaults by the Justina Saint guardians, which have been hijacked by Arius and their helper Maestro. Despite mounting injuries and increasingly severe fatigue, Hina refuses to stop soldiering on until Sensei has been evacuated to receive proper medical care.
  • The Dreaded: Hina and the Prefect Team are so feared in Gehenna that when Problem Solver 68 learns that the Prefect Team has found them during their fight with the Foreclosure Task Force, they decide to run away rather than continue their fight. It's to the point where Kasumi openly challenges the very competent but somewhat clumsy Iori, but the mere sight of Hina is enough to make her ugly-cry on the spot. For this reason, the Arius forces assaulting the St. Justina Cathedral in Vol. 3, Chpt. 3 make it clear that Hina is a priority target, intending to take her out to cripple the Prefect Team and make it easier for them to take out Gehenna Academy.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Heavily downplayed, but present. Though she never acts on it or lets it colour her relationships with the other groups, a late segment of Chapter 3 has Hina revealing that she's secretly jealous of the previous clubs Sensei has worked with for getting support and praise from them, wanting to be praised and supported by Sensei herself.
  • Kuudere: She appears to be as harsh and aloof as she looks, but upping your relationship with her shows that she's got quite the soft and easily-embarrassed side.
  • Luminescent Blush: Whenever Hina is truly embarrassed or flustered and surprised, which is quite rare considering the sort of person she is, her cheeks light up, such as during her second Relationship Event when she finally gets at what Sensei's hinting at when they say that people might gossip if they and Hina are seen walking and talking together. Again, these are few and far between, with her typically having a much softer blush during 'regular' moments of embarrassment, like her final Relationship Event when she's alone with Sensei working after hours.
  • One-Woman Army: She's so powerful that rival groups consider the Prefect Team to be hopelessly weak when she's not leading the charge. During Head Prefect Hina's Summer Vacation!, the Prefect Team without Hina are on the verge of breaking, even with aid from Sensei, when all the groups they fought off during the event collide. Hina's appearance and subsequent strategy immediately routs all four enemy factions at once.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Though she's the last person you'd expect to cry, this happens to her in Chapter 3 of the Trinity Arc. During a heart-to-heart talk with a recently-recovered Sensei, Hina briefly cries while mentioning her jealousy of the help Sensei has given to the Foreclosure Task Force, Game Development Club and Make-Up Work Club, wishing that Sensei would praise and help her the same way. Being who she is, Hina tries covering it up and quickly moves on to get back to business.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: At the start of the event Head Prefect's Summer Break, she has one in the eyes of her colleagues when she compliments the coffee Ako brought her as "exquisite", which has everyone else on the Prefect Team fearing that she's extremely stressed out thanks to just how far and away it is from her typical comments on food and drink. This was actually because she had just gotten off a call arranging work with Sensei.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Purple is very prevalent in her design and she's one of the most feared and respected students in the school.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Hina's both the uncontested head of Gehenna's Prefect Team and the strongest member they have, to the point that delinquent gangs consider the Prefects hopelessly weak when Hina's not leading them and Arius deliberately targets her during their assault on the Eden Treaty in Volume 3, hoping to ruin the Prefect Team's effectiveness by taking out their leader.
  • Ship Tease: With Sensei at various points:
    • Her Relationship Events show Hina gradually opening up to them, to the point of feeling comfortable enough to take a break and relax when alone with them in the final event.
    • In the Head Prefect's Summer Break event:
      • It's quite obvious that Hina enjoys the prospect of patrolling and working with SCHALE and Sensei, to the point that she compliments the taste of a cup of coffee as "exquisite" while thinking about it, which she's never done before. Iori, Chinatsu and Sensei all pick up on this and tease Hina about it a little by the end, asking if the prospect of working with SCHALE always makes her coffee taste better.
      • In the same event, Hina expresses interest in chatting alone with Sensei several times, while also confiding in them her inability to swim and ask that they help her learn, as opposed to asking any of her Prefect Team colleagues. She also smiles around them more often and, at the end of the event when she's punishing the team for keeping her in the dark as to the event's true purpose (giving her time off work), she approaches Sensei and assures them that they can "make it up to me later" while smiling.
    • During Sensei's visit to Hina's home in Chapter 3 of the Trinity Arc, a weary and emotional Hina breaks down in front of them for a brief moment, expressing her jealousy at all the previous clubs that Sensei has helped over the fact that they've received support and praise, which Hina admits to wanting herself.
Hina: I wanted you to pay attention to me, to praise me!!
  • Small Girl, Big Gun: Wields a machine gun taller than her.
  • Tiny Tyrannical Girl: She's very slim and short, but she has an iron grip on the Prefect Team. Ako only had the nerve to act behind Hina's back when she was on a business trip, and when Hina returns suddenly to "politely" ask where she is, Ako is immediately terrified of having to explain the situation to her.
  • Workaholic: Despite frequently complaining about her workload, and the lack of breaks she has in between, she devotes herself fully to her work.

  • Armchair Military: Fitting as she is a Specialist unit. As she is often tied down by her administrative work, she typically directs the Prefect Team's field units from their headquarters, with Iori, Chinatsu, or Hina leading the charge.
    • Inverted on her dress alt, where she instead does agent work with the Prefect Team on undercover missions.
  • The Bet: Makes these repeatedly with Sensei over the course of her Relationship Events, usually based around whether or not her latest worries are actually part of the conspiracy she thinks they are, culminating in her betting via coin toss on which of them will wear a dog collar and act like one in her final event...which quite predictably backfires on her when she loses the coin toss.
  • Improperly Paranoid: Ako repeatedly seems to think that SCHALE and Sensei are up to no good or are a possible threat to the Prefect team, to the point of trying to assess their opinion of the group in her first Relationship Event, cheerfully oblivious to the fact that Sensei has both the ear and trust of Ako's own boss and has repeatedly demonstrated no ill will of any sort despite the team's prior attempt at kidnapping them in Volume 1.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Ako is quite capable of taking any number of random occurrences and acts of bad luck and spinning them into new conspiracies against the Prefect Team at the drop of a hat.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she means well, She's not the nicest of people when it comes to Sensei, acting standoffish and cold repeatedly despite them freely offering help, pressuring them into making bets with her and making it clear she thinks of them and SCHALE as a threat to the Prefect Team despite how untrue that is. Even Iori and Hina eventually warm up to Sensei, while Ako never quite comes around. Until the Final Volume where she has no issue working with Sensei in their efforts to save Kivotos.
  • Oh, Crap!: Has this moment after Hina appears during Gehenna's assault on Abydos and Problem Solver 68. Prior to this, Hina was supposedly away on business, thus allowing Ako the opportunity to operate freely.
  • Overzealous Underling: She's this to Hina. While Ako really does mean well, she tends to go way overboard with her attempts to either solve problems for Hina or nip possible threats in the bud pre-emptively, typically forcing her boss to intervene and clean up the mess.
    • In Volume 1 with the Eden Treaty looming, Ako takes it upon herself to try and abduct and detain Sensei, whom she views as a possible threat to the treaty thanks to SCHALE's extrajudicial powers. She goes about this by having the Prefect Team invade Abydos' autonomous district, taking advantage of Hina's absence to act unilaterally and using Problem Solver 68's presence as justification for the assault, coming to blows with the Foreclosure Task Force in the process. Once Hina does show up, she's quite pissed at how far outside their jurisdiction Ako went for something that's not their responsibility, pointing out that the Pandemonium Society are the ones who decide what to do about the Eden Treaty and possible threats, not them.
    • Head Prefect Hina's Summer Break gets kicked off by Ako hearing Hina compliment the coffee she just drank as "exquisite", which she's never done before. Rather than simply asking her about it, Ako immediately decides that she's incredibly stressed out and needs a break, to the point of going behind her back and changing their planned Summer Boot Camp to give Hina the time off Ako thinks she needs, forcing everyone involved to keep things a secret from Hina in the process despite how many problems that winds up causing. At the end of the event, Hina even points out that they could have resolved everything far more easily if Ako had simply been open with her.
  • The Paranoiac: As becomes clear in her Relationship Events, Ako sees just about any inconvenience as part of a plot by Gehenna's enemies to sabotage the Prefect Team, like the lifts being out of order one day. Even the weather isn't safe from her suspicions of conspiracy.
  • Properly Paranoid: For all her wild theories and Insane Troll Logic when it comes to seeing conspiracies and threats around every corner, Ako also includes a memo from the Pandemonium Society in her list of 'evidence', who actually do try to mess with and impede the Prefect Team for nothing more than their own amusement.
  • The Starscream: Ako doesn't actually aim to undermine Hina's authority. Quite the opposite, in fact. Using her own authority as the Prefect Team's Senior Administrator and as Hina's trusted advisor, Ako does have a nasty propensity for directing unsanctioned operations. All of which, she claims, are in Gehenna's (or rather, Hina's) best interests.
  • Sideboob: The top of her default outfit shows off the sides of her bust. Her dress alt shows more of it, including her exposed front side.
  • Tsundere: The best behavior to describe Ako's feelings towards Sensei. While she is standoffish to Sensei, she occasionally shows she does appreciate Sensei after all. Her voice lines adds to the tsundereish too.

A cold-blooded specialist of Gehenna Academy's Prefect Team.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: For the most part, Iori is pretty cold towards the foot-licking pervert known as Sensei, though the latter is nice regardless towards the former, who doesn't quite reciprocate it all the time. A definite example of Iori having more favor for Sensei than she shows happens in Trip-Trap-Train, in which she finds them beside top criminal Kasumi but, though acerbic as ever, still trusts them to have her back. So when she finds that Sensei isn't going to act for her since Kasumi is holding the Trinity relic hostage, she becomes not just quiet but sincerely upset about it, which is a rare show of her more tender emotions.
  • Butt-Monkey: You can pretty much expect Iori to be this in every scene she's in, from Sensei's perverted teasing to Tempting Fate in Operation Record of No. 227 Hot Spring Resort. Even in Trip-Trap-Train where she's the only Prefect Team leading officer on the scene, her lack of situational awareness leads her to getting strung along with Kasumi's plans and being mobbed by all the people who's got beef with the Prefect Team on the train; as a capper, her last scene is getting one-shotted by a berserk Ichika without fanfare.
  • The Captain: She's the captain of the Prefect Team's assault unit.
  • Cold Sniper: She's described as ruthless and wields a rifle that's almost as big as she is.
  • Determinator: Her ruthlessness and determination means that she is willing to do whatever it takes to punish rulebreakers. Inversely, however, her stubborn personality and reckless behaviour also causes her to fall into even the simplest of traps.
  • Tsundere: Acts this way towards Sensei.

The one in charge of medical aid of Gehenna Academy's Prefect Team. Her ordinariness is at odds with the more quirky members of her team, saddling her with the duty of pulling said members in should they go too far.

  • Hidden Depths: She gives off the aura of someone aloof and scary, but is actually very gentle and loves animals.
  • Luminescent Blush: In all of her relationship stories, there’s hardly ever a scene where her face doesn’t light up.
  • The Medic: And in gameplay, this takes the form of a single-target burst heal.
  • Only Sane Man: Of the Prefect Team, Hina is The Leader and The Dreaded, Iori tends to act like a Reckless Sidekick, and Ako takes her Undying Loyalty to Hina to extremes. Whenever Hina is not around to keep her subordinates in line, as demonstrated during the first chapter of Vol. 1, Chinatsu gets saddled with this role.
  • Ship Tease:
    • One of her voice lines in the lobby has her wondering if knocking out Sensei and giving them CPR counts as a kiss while blushing.
    • Her Relationship Story's Memorial Lobby has her blushing and nervous about being in the same room as Sensei, alone.
    • During her Valentine's story, she invites Sensei to Gehenna's offices, saying they're alone... then quickly assures that she doesn't mean anything suspicious by it (mostly) and gives Sensei a fortune chocolate, which is chocolate with a paper fortune inside that says "The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here." And then Sensei reads other fortune chocolates—which all turn out to have the same fortune. Too embarrassed to explain herself, Chinatsu runs out of the room.
  • Starter Mon: She is one of the four characters given to you in the intro.

Problem Solver 68

L - R: Kayoko, Haruka, Aru, Mutsuki

    Associated Tropes
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Part of the reason Problem Solver are so willing to turn on Kaiser to help Sensei is because the latter has been nothing but kind and helpful to the group, while the PMC Director... hasn't. Aru even states that Sensei has treated them far better than the director ever did.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In V1C1, they show up to help the Foreclosure Task Force repel the Prefect Team force, and again in C2, they help the FTF with their rescue of Hoshino as last-minute reinforcements.
  • A Day in the Limelight: They feature in the event 0068 - From Opera with Love on a mission to kidnap the leader of a mafia.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Despite the Foreclosure Task Force having been targets for 68 in V1C1, their losses to them and later interactions with each other eventually lead into genuine friendship that they turn on their contractor, the Kaiser PMC Director.

The (self-proclaimed) hard-boiled "Boss" of the Problem Solver 68 club.

  • Bespectacled Cutie: If one of the official 4komas is correct, her student ID still has her picture from back when she used to be one, and she’ll do nearly anything to keep others from seeing it.
  • Big Damn Heroes: She and Problem Solver 68 end up rescuing the Abydos Foreclosure Task Force from Kaiser PMC. And then they do it again near the climax, taking on the Kaiser PMC Director and his remaining forces to give the Foreclosure Task Force the opening to rescue Hoshino.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: She winds up quoting the Masked Mizugi Gang's motto back at the Abydos students when she and Problem Solver show to reinforce them, to convince the group to keep fighting despite the odds.
  • Childhood Friends: With Mutsuki.
  • Cold Sniper: She wields a sniper rifle and is pretty good with it, but any coldness she possesses is likely a part of her villain persona.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: When Aru learns the so called meeting between very important groups of Kivotos is actually a Pyramid scheme disguised as seminar, Aru is so angry over being tricked that she attacks the host and trashes the seminar.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Aru doesn't recognize that the students she's having a talk with at the ramen restaurant are the same Abydos students her club were hired to attack. Then it happens again when the cool masked bank robbers she saw are actually the Abydos students again, which she fails to recognize while the rest of her club already figured it out at first glance.
  • Hero-Worshipper: She practically fangirls and squeals over the Masked Mizugi Gang (who are actually the Abydos Students wearing balaclavas) for their efficiency and daring in robbing one of the Black Market's banks so quickly and easily, to the point of running after them and begging for advice on how to become a better outlaw. Of course, she's mortified once her team clues her in as to who they really are.
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: She likes to paint herself as a dignified super villain, despite that Problem Solver 68 is suffering from Perpetual Poverty, and she's quick to lose her composure the moment things doesn't go her way.
  • Slasher Smile: Her character art has her sporting one complete with shadowed-over eyes.
  • Trick Arrow: Trick bullet, in Aru's case. Her EX skill allows her to fire a round at an enemy, only for that round to explode a few seconds later, making her ideal for clearing clusters of lightly-armored enemies.

Problem Solver 68's resident go-getter and chief of staff. She is fond of pranking those close to her, though one should be wary of how vindictive she can be once she is displeased.

  • Childhood Friends: With Aru.
  • Fatal Fireworks: Her new year alternate's EX skill, "New Year's Symphony", fires multiple fireworks to an arc-shaped area. The alternate's basic skill, "Imp Chorus", also fires a handheld firework.
  • The Gadfly: Intentionally causes situations that put Sensei at unease, and likes to screw with whoever she interacts with. Not even Aru is safe from her teasing.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Mutsuki may pranks on others for fun, but she's never seen teasing Haruka, as she most likely knows that it's not a good idea to tease someone like Haruka who has severely low self-esteem.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While her regular instinct is to troll and tease anyone around her, when the chips are down Mutsuki does care about others. For example, despite regularly calling Ayane "Little Miss Four Eyes" over the course of Volume 1, she's also pretty eager to rip the Kaiser PMC forces to shreds for making her cry when Problem Solver team up with the Foreclosure Task Force.
  • Mad Bomber: Her duffel bag is packed with explosives, and throwing it to clear enemies is her EX Skill.
  • More Dakka: Carries an MG5 machine gun that rivals her in size.

The department head of Problem Solver 68. Her quiet demeanor hides a caring side, especially for cats, and an intelligent mind aware of things even her own teammates are not aware of.

  • AM/FM Characterization: She has a love for heavy metal as seen in some of her Relationship Stories. One has her invite Sensei to a concert where the latter gets their ears assaulted by loud music and violent lyrics.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She dresses a lot in black on top of her love for death metal that doesn't help her delinquent image, but she's nothing if not nice to her friends and cats.
  • Face of a Thug: She's constantly getting into trouble due to her delinquent-like appearance, even when she isn't doing anything close to bad. The first episode of her personal story has Sensei rescue her from nearly getting arrested for her backtalk when she was only trying to help a kitten on the street. This is presumably why her EX and Normal Skills inflict the ''Fear'' debuff (not that she'd like being intimidating to begin with).
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: She has a love for cats and often takes the time to feed and play with strays she encounters on the streets, to the point she goes out in the rain to check on a currently absent cat in her Recollection Lobby.
  • Mysterious Past: It's implied that Kayoko used to be a part of the Prefect Team and worked with Ako, given the latter's familiarity and cordiality with her when they meet in V1C1 and again in Volume F. It'd explain how she would know so much about the Prefect Team's modus operandi in trying to kidnap Sensei and her knowing something as niche as the nigh-ruined company Saint Nephthys.
  • Only Sane Woman: The voice of reason among the group, typically being the first to point out when Aru's made a mistake and having to reign in Mutsuki before she overreacts or Haruka when she makes a scene.
  • The Smart Girl: Besides being the most sensible, she knows a few key pieces of information to deduce the Prefect Team's motives for invading Abydos in Volume 1 and connect Nonomi to a company called "Saint Nephthys" in Volume F.
  • Straight Man: Being the smartest inevitably means relying on common sense to protect her mental health and general wellbeing from her teammates' numerous antics, instigators included.

A very timid—and very violent—rookie member of Problem Solver 68.

  • Almighty Janitor: Aru is the boss, Mutsuki is chief of staff, and Kayoko is department head. What is Haruka's title? Entry-Level Employee, despite being a senior member. That doesn't stop her from being any less dangerous than her superiors though.
  • Apologizes a Lot: Can and will go into rapidly-firing off apologies if she feels like she did something wrong, which is often.
  • Demolitions Expert: Takes a central role in planting explosives as part of Problem Solver 68's operations, in comparison to Mutsuki being more of a direct bomb-lobber.
    • In V1C1 and C2, she made use of planted bombs to blow up Shiba Seki Ramen after misunderstanding Aru's discontent and guilt with the nice owner, then later does it against the invading Prefect Team.
    • Her first bond story involves Sensei discovering her planting bombs as part of a contract.
    • She shows up with Aru at the end of V3C4 over an unsatisfactory contract, and when she hears her boss's dissatisfaction, she blows up the office they were at. Saori, who was there for the same reason and a newbie to the underworld, becomes awed by these "professionals".
  • I Owe You My Life: Aru driving away bullies ultimately led to Haruka joining Problem Solver 68.
  • Magikarp Power: In gameplay, she starts off incredibly weak and squishy despite having the "Tank" Role. While this might discourage some Senseis from fielding her early on in favor of Tsubaki, Yuuka, and other tanks, once Haruka gets a Tier 4 Bag, she can start facetanking a lot of hits. However, if a dedicated Sensei keeps on raising Haruka past that, providing her with Tier 7 gear and investing in her EX and Skills, along with unlocking her Unique Weapon's upgraded passive, she transforms into a nigh-immortal tank with among the highest, if not THE highest Defense and HP stats in the entire game, comparable even to stats of a Raid Boss, while somehow also being able to dish out plenty of damage on her own, especially when in Indoor Terrain.
  • Overzealous Underling: Haruka does anything for Aru and Sensei, even if they don't want her to. When Aru has discontent about Shiba Sheki's friendly vibe, she bombs the shop.
  • Self-Deprecation: Haruka apologizes... a lot, for just about anything from Problem Solver 68's lack of funding to so much as a worm in a pot of weeds she wanted to give Sensei as a gift.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: There's rarely a moment when Haruka's eager to speak up, but many times over she asks her superiors (either Aru or Sensei) if she should attack others.
    • Even an ad for the game depicts her flashing a mischievous grin as she plants a claymore mine.
    • When she uses her EX Skill, she sometimes says "Die, please" repeatedly.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: She wields a black and purple shotgun.
  • Shrinking Violet: She's incredibly shy and self-deprecating due to being bullied for most of her childhood.
  • Yandere: Heavily implied to be one for Sensei, as her relationship story's first episode ends with her vowing to "destroy anything in their way", and the next one has her destroying the pot of weeds she'd just gifted to Sensei because a worm dared to make them its home.

Gourmet Research Society

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gourmet_1.png
L - R: Junko, Haruna, Izumi, Akari
    Associated Tropes
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Their modus operandi is summed up by their motto: "Eat or Die." The results almost always includes disruption of public order, destruction of public property, resisting arrest, explosions, and so on.
  • A Day in the Limelight: In New Year's Aperitif: One-and-Done Match alongside the School Lunch Club, to help old-time restaurant "Sparrow" compete with cheap food-producing chain Nyao Foods.
  • Obsessed with Food: "Obsessed" is an understatement. With the exception of Junko, the Society is always on the search for good food and ways to enjoy them—no matter how convoluted or destructive it gets. For this, they have been flagged as a terrorist group by others, even outside Gehenna.
    • In V3C2 Episode 5, they attack an aquarium in Trinity and steal a rare tuna called the Gold Maguro, planning on eating it rather than let it go to waste being admired. They also brought (kidnapped, really) Fuuka along to have her prepare the tuna.
    • The events of New Year's Aperitif are a positive take on the trope, because it's the Society's passion for food that they're stubborn in keeping Sparrow running, shamelessly drag along the School Lunch Club for good reasons this time and take Nyao Foods down a peg for their work-unfriendly cost-slashing practices.
      • Also in the same event, a gameplay mission stars them attacking a "High-Quality Ingredient Transportation Vehicle", with Fuuka driving it no less, thus leaving it to you to defeat the foodie terrorists (and some other enemy students).

The President of Gehenna's Gourmet Research Society, who never fails to take the club's food research to explosive extremes.

  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Her original variant's EX Skill, "Piercing Elegance", has her take aim and fire a single piercing shot that damages enemies in straight linenote .
  • The Beautiful Elite: All her variants have her showing style no matter the choice of clothing: her original has her wear a well-coordinated white dress shirt that contrasts with her black-colored clothes, especially her coat and wings; her New Year dons a fur-trimmed kimono, her hair tied in a bun and blue flowers adorning a side of her head; and even her Track's jacket is worn like a coat cape, complemented by a guide map and sunglasses like she's a tourist rather than a sport participant (made more amusing with the EX Skill of her touring the food stands).
  • Blatant Lies: Haruna says being tied up is Fuuka's way of having fun when Make-Up Work Club infiltrates Gehenna to take their second reevaluation exam in V3C2.
Hanako: It sounds like...someone is tied up in the back of that truck.
Haruna: Oh, that? That's just Fuuka's way of having fun. She's a rascal, that one.
  • Caustic Critic: Has a tendency to detonate eating establishments that don't meet her standards, whether they be professional restaurants or the overloaded Gehenna Academy cafeteria. Her Track variant's third relationship story in particular sees her criticizing all the lackluster foods and drinks supplied during the sports events.
  • Friendly Sniper: She uses a Heckler & Koch PSG1 sniper rifle and is rather affable, although she drops the friendliness when it comes to bad food and service.
  • Haute Cuisine Is Weird: The basis for her food adventures is to dive into the weird and abstract for the sake of the foodie world, which is why she leads her club in testing out her outlandish food theories that lead to mixed results and/or lots of trouble.
    • Her Relationship Stories are often about her experiments, like whether preparing instant ramen with luxury ingredients as one would in a tea ceremony gives it the same dignity.
    • Her Valentine story has her making bittersweet matcha chocolate with Sensei, theorizing that the "feelings" they put into it will make up for the sweetness.
    • Reconstructed example in her Sport variant's second episode; there is a Millennium stall that sells dishes made through molecular gastronomy, but due to how alien they look, no customer was willing to try until Haruna, who is a pioneer herself of all things gourmet, tried one without fear. The result impressed her, which is why she's helping and got Sensei on the case too until the business kicked off.
  • The Ojou: Of her fellow Society members, she's outwardly a high-class girl; she always maintains a veneer of politeness (even when it's to the backdrop of an explosion), often visits classy restaurants, and is always stylish no matter the version.
  • Ship Tease:
    • Her bond stories have her warming up to Sensei that she sees them as her "favorite person" by the fourth.
    • Her Valentine story has her flustered from watching Sensei eat and compliment her chocolate.
    • Her Track version's stories have her ramp things up for her wanting to hang out with Sensei, going so far as to help them medicate students in the first, have them accompany her for the rest of the day in the end of the second, and have a very suggestive close-up of her rolling candy in her mouth that she tries to share with Sensei (who refuses it) in the third.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Despite what her refined and ladylike demeanor might suggest, deep down she is hiding an ever-hungry beast. As such, her approach when it comes to eating and critiquing food is... a bit violent. Her EX Skills reflect those two sides very well, with her original EX Skill reflecting her "silk" aspect (maintaining elegant form and composure as she shoots), and her New Year alt having the "steel" aspect (where she metaphorically blows up after eating a presumably bad shrimp, followed by actually blowing enemies up).

A glutton of the Gourmet Research Society, although more down-to-earth compared to her fellow club members.

  • Big Eater: She worries about making enough money to afford all the food she wants to eat and takes a job at a café so she can get free food. She's however a more realistic big eater compared to Akari's insane black hole of a stomach, and has grown a bit of a complex over her inability to eat by the truckload like her fellow gourmets.
  • Butt-Monkey: Her two versions' EX Skills involve being unable to eat her food, her original getting her dango shot out of her hand, and the other getting knocked down by passerby and spilling an entire stack of osechi boxes she was holding.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Her EX Skill drains a quarter of her health, which pairs well with the rest of her kit.
  • Critical Status Buff: Her basic skill can make her temporarily invincible when low on health, and her sub skill grants her a damage bonus proportional to missing health.
  • Dual Wielding: Wields two assault rifles, which she also uses for her EX skill.
  • Only Sane Man: As the game puts it, "Junko's more of a conventional gastronome compared to the other binge-eating, frankenfood-gobbling members of the Gourmet Research Society."
  • Petite Pride: It's a skill of hers, no less. As it turns out, being short and skinny helps a lot when it comes to dodging.

A happy-go-lucky eater of the Gourmet Research Society with very, very odd tastes in food.

  • Bizarre Taste in Food: She's reached the point that she enjoys food combinations no one else would ever dare to try. She's even seen at all times with a chocolate-covered hamburger note . She even survives drinking Juri's orange juice unlike Iori who fainted after drinking it. And there's her swimsuit bond story, which has her wanting to lose a competition to get the hot sauce meant for the losers instead of the winner's tasty loco moco. Her regular form bond story has her trapped by a troop of alley cats because she ate some of their cat treats.
    • One of the club's sub-stories has Hare analyze the Gourmet Research Society to see who has a gene that makes mint taste like shampoo/toothpaste. It's revealed that Izumi, who loves mint, has the gene, which means that she had been willingly consuming mint even though it tasted like shampoo. Izumi then excitedly asks if this means she can eat shampoo.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Her completely insane taste in food and willingness to try anything also means that she has experience in what flavors go well together. One of her Swimsuit version's bond stories has her adding peanut butter to cold noodles and eel bowls, and not only is Sensei amazed that the combinations actually taste good, but the stalls also boom in popularity and other restauraunt owners chase her down for advice.
  • Extreme Omnivore: If it's "food", Izumi will wolf it down, and her iron stomach allows her to withstand flavors and combinations that leave others heaving their guts or passed out on the floor.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: Her EX Skill simply has her take a bite out of her chocolate-covered hamburger to recover health.
  • Pinball Projectile: Her Swimsuit version's EX skill has her chuck a coconut-shell cup that bounces between enemies, causing damage and stun.

A champion of eating contests so well known to have buffet restaurants close at the sight of her.

  • Big Eater: She can easily polish off double-digit servings of food in a single sitting. Her reputation as an Eating Contest champion causes multiple all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants to close shop at the sight of her.
  • Borrowed Without Permission: She does this whenever she drives Fuuka's School Lunch Promotion jeep during V3C2 as well as on her New Year outfit as a T.S. vehicle.
  • Chronically Crashed Car: This happens every time her T.S. (on her new year outfit) gets destroyed, even Akari giggling on the situation.
  • Gathering Steam: Spicy Second Serving! and I Can Eat More! are respectively Normal and Sub-skills that both have a 10% chance of increasing her attack when dealing normal attacks. Her EX Skill is at its best once the player waits for both buffs to apply.
  • Grenade Launcher: Her EX Skill, One Large Serving of Grenades!, has her fire a grenade using an underbarrel HK M320 attachment that blows up a round-shaped area. She does the same on her New Year alt as a normal skill whenever she drives Fuuka's jeep.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Not once up to date has there been a time she drops her smile—Haruna herself smiles nearly as much but can frown and get disgusted. Even when she gets angry, it just turns into a Slasher Smile complete with her eyes glowing dangerously.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Much like Haruna, she can be smiling most of the time until she starts getting displeased. Best seen during her fourth bond story when she takes on a mapo tofu eating challenge; despite the dishes being rigged to be spicier than normal, she breezes through it and proceeds to eat the restaurant's mapo tofu out.
Akari: Because I can eat so much of anything, people tend to forget that I'm still a member of the Gourmet Research Society. I'm a tough critic when it comes to the quality of food. [...] If someone plays dirty tricks with their food to make a quick buck... I'll punish them harshly.

A masterful chef member of the School Lunch Club that manages Gehenna Academy's dining hall.

  • Badass Driver: According to the Gourmet Research Society. In VFC4 Episode 5, she actually proves them right by driving twelve thousand meters down to the Ark of Atrahasis's bottom in order to stop the Utnapishtim's hacking.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: During one relationship event, she gets extremely drunk from tasting a small drop of a sauce that contains alcohol. Specifically, 0.00003% alcohol.
  • Callback: In Volume F, Chapter 4, Haruna tells her to give a thumbs up after successfully driving them to the device hacking the Utnapishtim, the same way she did offscreen during Volume 3 escorting the Make-Up Work Club. Although Fuuka snapped at her, she has a special CG of her giving one at the end of Episode 4.
  • Chronically Crashed Car: Every time Gourmet Research Society borrows her jeep, it all leads to it being destroyed at some point, whenever it got plunged into the water or it gets destroyed alongside the Ark of Arthrahasis during the end of Volume F.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: In her bond story, while she states that being appreciated makes her feel great joy, at the same time, she admits that she sometimes feels anger and disappointment from the students who complain about her food's quality despite all the time and effort she puts into making them.
Fuuka: Try cooking for yourself if you are just going to complain everyday! Don't they realize how thankless being the school lunch club president is?!
  • Housewife: Her bond stories show off her culinary skills and her talent for haggling at a grocery store, topped with a Recollection Lobby of Sensei wanting her to cook for them every day, to which she shyly replies that she doesn't mind doing.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: Her EX Skill deploys a pot of stew that heals allies. Her New Year alt instead deliver osechi boxes to an ally to decrease their EX cost as well as raising critical damage.
  • Running Gag: Getting kidnapped/attacked by the Gourmet Research Society for her cooking skills, unwillingly making her their Sixth Ranger.
    • She gets kidnapped during Volume 3, Chapter 2 twice. Once, it was to have her cook a rare tuna stolen from an aquarium in Trinity. It happens again when the Society helps the Make-Up Work Club get to the testing site... with Fuuka screaming along in their jeep for no real reason other than to just be there, apparently.
    • In New Year's Aperitif, she gets brought in again to keep Sparrow from closing down. Her frustration at her New Year's celebration ruined aside, she says she's pretty much used to it by now. In the same event, a gameplay mission also stars her as the driver of a "High-Quality Ingredient Transportation Vehicle", where you have to defend it from the Society (and some other enemy students), the implication being that they're up to their usual antics raiding school property for quality food.
    • VFC4 has the Society sneak onto the Utnapishtim, along with a dead-eyed, fed-up Fuuka in case they need her to prepare space food, and later, force her to be their driver for a length of twelve thousand meters on a dangerous fortress. She rightfully wonders if Haruna's doing this because the gourmet secretly hates her.
  • Only Sane Woman: Like Hina, Chinatsu, Kayoko, and Iroha, Fuuka's one of the few non-chaotic students in Gehenna, reacting to everything around her with deadpan sarcasm.
  • Ship Tease: With Sensei in her Relationship Story.
    • She and Sensei are Mistaken for Romance by a fishmonger Fuuka haggles with in the third event. Even after an embarrassed Fuuka corrects them, the fishmonger keeps insisting that she'll make a great wife (implicitly for Sensei, given that she's cooking for them) someday with her passion for home cooking.
    • As mentioned above, her Recollection Lobby has Sensei ask her to cook for them every day, which gets Fuuka flustered and blushing even as she says she'll do it.
    • In her Valentine story, Sensei outright says "I love you" and points out the mugs of hot chocolate look like couples' mugs. Fuuka adorably stammers at both and rushes out of Schale.
  • Supreme Chef: In contrast to her fellow club member Juri, she is an excellent chef, though it is shown that she does have to sacrifice some quality when making the cafeteria lunches simply due to the necessity of needing to produce large amounts of food quickly. The Gourmet Research Society largely consider her an amazing cook, which is impressive praise in itself... but also means they regularly kidnap poor Fuuka and drag her into their wild adventures in quest of new delicious food.

A member of the School Lunch Club that manages the Gehenna Academy's dining hall.

  • Caring Gardener: Her 4th Relationship Story reveals her club has been growing vegetables in the backyard of the cafeteria, taking advantage of Gehenna's volcanic soil to grow a veritable farm. Juri's Recollection Lobby has her showing care for the vegetables, especially it being food she can't mess up through her cooking since it's just natural farming.
  • Cosmic Plaything: The universe won't let Juri catch a break when it comes to food. Even with full supervision and proper instruction every step of the way, her mere involvement is enough to cause whatever she's making to turn out a catastrophic failure, to the point that almost no one can stomach it. One has to wonder if she's cursed to be a terrible cook.
  • Lethal Chef: Anything Juri cooks tends to result in catastrophic failure. She can give someone food poisoning with something as simple as freshly-squeezed orange juice. While part of it is her own incompetence, it is shown that even if supervised and forced to do everything by the book, or even if someone else does almost all the work, if she is involved in the cooking of dish in anyway, even something as minor as stirring the pot for a minute, at best it will somehow result in it tasting a bit off. In battle she weaponizes this with her EX skill, which deploys a pot with tentacles emerging from it that poisons enemies.
    • She's the sole reason why the School Lunch Club always fails the health regulation check as her "juice" always sends the officer into infirmary.
    • Haruna's Valentine story has one moment where she apparently fights something she calls a demon, rumored to have been in the dining area's refrigerator. And if Juri's cooking skills are anything to go by, it's probably one of her works.
  • Ship Tease: During her 4th Relationship Story, she starts getting nervous at Sensei getting close to her as they help out with her farming, unsure of what she's feeling compared to farming alone. Eventually she stammers out an excuse to get water, leaving for a long while afterwards before she came back.
  • Ultimate Job Security: There's really no other way to justify a Lethal Chef managing to stay on at the School Lunch Club in spite of it being her fault they fail their health regulation checks every single time. Were anyone else other than the Pandemonium Society in charge at Gehenna, Juri would've likely been given the boot ages ago.

Medical Emergency Club

    Himuro Sena

Bring the corp... no, bring the wounded over here.
Affiliation: Medical Emergency Club
Age: 17
Birthday: April 7
Height: 5'1" (155cm)
Hobbies: Standing by, preparing medicine
Illustrator: Ikomochi
Voiced by: Saori Onishi

  • Consummate Professional:
    • Very stoic about her job, not once ever making a joke or changing her tune about any trouble coming her way. Her MomoTalk messages even start with her messaging reports of her activities (although by mistake) and greeting Sensei with "this is Himuro Sena".
    • Played for Laughs in her first relationship story, where she explains that her club only cares for the injured and do not get involved in inter-club politics. However, when a Prefect Team student wants to bring in one injured mastermind who started the fight in the episode for interrogation, Sena rebuffs her, saying that the injured are strictly under their purview and no else's. When the Prefect student insists on the matter, the medic responds by blowing her up with a grenade, then has the unconscious student taken along as another injured student, coolly stating it was the best way to solve the situation.
  • Combat Medic: She is an able combatant as much as she is a medic, although it's debatable how medical she is when she's prone to taking out anyone who gets in the way of her work.
  • Cool Car: Her EX Skill has her ride in hanging from a Horch 108 Kfz. 31 (called "Tactical Ambulance 11" in-universe).
  • A Day in the Limelight: She makes her first canon appearance during Schale's Happy Valentine Patrol to accompany Sensei on a patrol during Valentine's.
  • Double Tap: A very odd, non-lethal, and funny example; her first relationship story explains the role of emergency medical services for students in Kivotos (or at least Gehenna), that despite the students' immunity to bullets, they are still susceptible to being knocked out from accumulated damage. So, students downed in gunfights will be transported to safety, but since some might pretend to "play dead", medics make sure to double tap all wounded presumably to make their patients stand up and save them a couple of stretchers... never mind that they add to injuries this way.
  • Grenade Launcher: She wields a short-barreled M79 Grenade Launcher called the "Emergency Entry Kit".
  • The Medic: Her job as part of the Medical Emergency Club.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Seems to have a fascination with death, given that she's constantly referring to the injured as "corpses" or "dead bodies" and needing to correct herself, tending to creep out everyone around her when they notice her doing this.
  • The Stoic: As a professional medic, she rarely displays emotions, period. Not even when she faces down Wakamo multiple times during Valentine's does she ever change her quote to Sensei about returning to their patrol.
Sena: Shall we continue our patrol again, Sensei?
Sensei: "None of this fazes you, does it, Sena?"
  • Support Party Member: Her EX Skill, Emergency Dispatch, has her ride onto the field on an ambulance where a circle extends from her; students inside the circle gain an attack boost and periodically receive healing while she fires shots from her grenade for negligible damage. This becomes tricky since it'd mostly benefit Strikers who stay in the rear and none for those in the middle and front, on top of hoping Sena will be in the right spot to cover students in her radius since you won't have control over her movement.
  • Verbal Tic: Someone called for a medic? For Sena, there's corpses to transport— er, injured people.

Hot Spring Department

    Kinugawa Kasumi

You're in my way...You don't know what's going to happen right?
Affiliation: Hot Spring Department
Age: 16
Birthday: May 24
Height: 4'10" (148cm)
Hobbies: Blowing something up, Hot spring development
Illustrator: Mx2J

The club president of the Hot Spring Department. A wanted fugitive notorious not just in Gehenna, but in other school as well.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: In Trip-Trap-Train, when she realizes Hina oversees the special cells today, that's the first time her composure breaks as she begs Iori to catch her another day. It brings Sensei and Ichika no small amount of satisfaction after getting pushed around by her.
  • The Cameo: She makes her first appearance during the Momoyo Café's Beachside Stand event, then another during Volume F, Chapter 2.
  • Crazy-Prepared: When she is captured in the beginning of the Trip-Trap-Train event by gangsters, she already has a plan in place to escape the train car she is being held in. Not to mention, she also had a backup plan in place where her club members would sabotage the tracks, which would derail the train and give her an opportunity to escape. When she is knocked out by Ichika's rampage though, this leaves her unable to stop her oblivious club members from cancelling the plan and derailing the train, just to add onto Ichika's misfortunes of the day.
  • The Dreaded: She is one of Gehenna's most wanted criminal masterminds with both the Prefect Team and various criminal gangs out for her head. Even Ichika is vaguely aware of her reputation.
  • Evil Genius: The Trip-Trap-Train event proves she is really dangerous one. In this story, she convinces Ichika and Sensei to be her allies and incites passengers of the train to help her. When Iori and the Prefect Team board the train, she makes them enemies of all passengers and tries luring Ichika over to her side with the historical tea set she and Sensei were delivering. Luckily or unluckily, Ichika burst a vein over the uncontrollable situation and gunned everyone down in sight (also breaking the tea set).
  • Gangsta Style: In battle, she holds her pistol this way.
  • The Leader: Of the Hot Spring Department. It will be unsurprising to some that she's of the Mastermind variety, given how much skill she has in planning and Verbal Judo.
  • Mad Bomber: A major part of hot spring development involves demolitions, so it's a given as the club's head. Her hobby even says it.
  • Meaningful Name: Her surname is a reference to "Kinugawa Onsen" in Nikkou, Japan.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: To Ichika.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Her recklessness and goofy mannerism belies intellect, cunning and strong charisma. She admit it herself that it's easier to move about while acting like this, and even Hina would note Kasumi's capabilities and hold nothing back when dealing with her.
  • Shipped in Shackles: In the Trip-Trap-Train event, Black Market Guards and the Prefect Team chain her before shipping her off.
  • The Smart Girl: As revealed in her third Relationship Episode, she studies various subjects related to hot springs including geology and architecture, even research papers. When Sensei gives her an odd look, she reminds them that the Department not only digs up springs, but also makes buildings on top of them. Still, there's quite a contrast between the passionate girl with No Indoor Voice for hot springs now appreciating the quiet of Schale to study in peace.
  • Tomboyish Voice: She has a deep boyish voice despite her child-like appearance.
  • This Is a Drill: Her EX Skill drops something huge with a drill.

A zealous advocate and builder of hot springs, even outside of Gehenna's district.
  • Dumb Muscle: Admits as much to Sensei in her Relationship Stories, which is why she praises them for their reliable mind.
  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: Megu wields a flamethrower.
  • Luminescent Blush: Tapping on her in the Café will make her go beet piping red in embarrassment.
  • Person of Mass Construction: If there's even a hint of a hot spring in an area, Megu will immediately jump into action and set up a new resort.

  • Covers Always Lie: Despite being in the title screen alongside her clubmate Kirara for ever since the game's been out, there wasn't even a sight of her until almost two years after it first released.
  • Dummied Out: She was originally a playable character in Blue Archive's beta version. For some reason, she didn't make the cut for the actual release, and only got to show up as an NPC almost two years later after a redesign.

  • Covers Always Lie: Was absolutely nowhere to be seen in game until almost two years after release, heavily redesigned from her original iteration, despite being on the title screen with Erika from day one.
  • Gyaru Girl: Her defining trait, from the absurdly long fake nails to the overly generous cleavage exposed by her popped-open shirt.
