Last time I tried to take this trope to the TRS
(along with the now defunct Blinding Bangs), we weren't able to disambiguate it because PAB has several meanings attached to the trope that were deemed tropeworthy. I don't disagree with this but the trope is still suffering from ZCE issues and the description and the title still focuses more on the hairstyle itself.
My original proposal for the trope before the old thread was made was to suggest splitting the meanings into their own tropes but I wasn't confident about it as I wasn't sure if it was worth having multiple bang specific tropes and I don't think I found enough meaningful examples on the wick check (although there's more on the on-page examples)
I decide to reuse my wick check from last year because I don't think things changed that much from then.

Conclusion

I do agree it needs a trip to Image Pickin' since we narrowed the definition a bit. We had to take But Not Too Black to IP fairly recently after TRS retooled it into an IUEO trope about in-universe colorism.
Edit: Narrowing it down to the bottom left one sounds fine.

I'm gonna edit the Sandbox according to the new changes, but just to make sure, we narrowed the trope down to 3 meanings: shy, deceptive/secretive, and asocial/unapproachable. That means the last bullet point about bangs representing a veil doesn't apply with this new definition, right?
Also, sorry I took the last open slot in IP. I'll take it to IP myself bc I wanna replace the solitary panel with something else if no one does it before me.

Yeah, I think we can get rid of the veil-related bullet points. They could probably be Yarded along with the sex appeal bullet point (which we already agreed to Yard, but the fact that Yarding is a free action means we don't need a formal vote to do that with the veil-based examples).

Would the new definitions cover a case where a character has long bangs to conceal something about their face? Thinking of Vera Miligan from Reign of the Seven Spellblades, who uses them to hide the fact her left eye was transplanted from a basilisk.

The definition didn't change too much aside from less focus being on the hairstyle + sex appeal appeal examples being dropped. I think using your hair to hide something on your face still counts. However, your example also fits Hide Your Otherness.
EDIT: Oh wait I am wrong. Since the focus has been shifted to cover hidden personalities, the examples probably don't fit the new trope so examples about physical deformities/attributes being hidden should be covered by Hide Your Otherness like I said above.

Hiding the Handicap could be another potential move target, since some characters might use bangs to cover something like blindness (in the case of monocular vision).

I can't think of anything to add, either. I did revert a possibly accidental change ~selkies made changing Commonwealth English to American English by changing "modelling" to "modeling", per the American and Commonwealth Spellings policy.
I'll go ahead and swap in the sandbox and we can clean up examples later.

All right, Main.Hiding Behind Your Bangs is live and Main.Peek A Bangs has been disambiguated. We still need to clean up on-page examples on the former, as well as wicks for the latter. Also, I moved the note saying not to add ZCEs to a commented-out note because we prefer to do that instead of making it visible to non-editors.
Edit: I checked and IP is full, so we'll have to wait a bit to fix the image issues.

Question: Would it be worth expanding Hiding Behind Your Bangs to cover cases when both eyes are covered? When I was cleaning Blinding Bangs, there were a lot of wicks that had one eye examples and shyness and being anti-social also used to be part of the old BB definition.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with that, as "one eye is visible" is a consistent design choice. I think both eyes being hidden would suit Eyes Out of Sight just as well.
