I don't know what trope this is supposed to be as the description is a little unclear and reads like Fetish Fuel.

I do know that it's not actually being used as a trope on this wiki. Instead it's just being used to point out a female character wearing a business suit or some kind of formal wear.

I have no actual suggestions here, but I just wanted to say that I've been waiting a while for someone to do this. This thing is just ridiculous.

Many Hot X pages need cutting, but this one could well the worst.

It might be best to cut it and if anyone sees anything salvageable they can start a YKTTW.

Most examples on-page are Zero Context Examples. Even in my ignorance of fetish/sex/fanservice/et cetera stuff, that makes me inclined to vote cut.

On top off everything else, note that the line "The Distaff Counterpart to Badass in a Nice Suit" is false. Badass in a Nice Suit is gender neutral.

Let's see if we can clean the examples up and merge with that trope.

Cut it, merge it, doesn't seem to be much worth saving here.

I recently edited the Lupin III entry from a ZCE:
Lupin III: Fujiko Mine averts Limited Wardrobe, wearing pretty much anything she wants to. Sometimes, she wants to wear a sexy business suit. It gives her a more mature appearence, and suggests that she should be respected in the business world.

I was doing my best for finding something tropeable in the concept, but I can't be sure I was able to. Maybe there's something about women fitting into a "man's world" by dressing similarly, but I'm not sure what it would look like.

There is something tropable here: namely, that suits are not typical wear when one wants sex appeal for a woman. A woman in a suit, played for physical attractiveness, is a conscious design choice.

A female character wearing a revealing business suit (cleavage, miniskirt etc...) or at least a business suit in a revealing manner sounds tropable. It's not an uncommon attire for a Sexy Secretary, Girl Friday or Office Lady in a lot cases.

Still I wouldn't want that trope under this name.

I don't like this trope, I'm not even sure it's definably notable as a trope when Badass in a Nice Suit exists like @7 mentions. Merge or cut, it can't exist as is.

There are six hundred inbounds, so it's not getting cut. Our options are to redirect to Badass in a Nice Suit and rename and redefine into suit based fanservice, right?

Then merge and redirect is what I would support.

Merge and redirect suits me fine, no pun.

Crowner. Feel free to add more options if you think of any.

I agree with King Zeal here. There's something tropeable.

Suits are generally not played for Fanservice for females, so examples of such are notable. Plus, it has implications of finding power sexy, which I think is worth noting as well. When this trope is in play, usually the woman is portrayed as independent, powerful, and self-sufficient. Which is fairly different from Badass in a Nice Suit.

It's the "badass" in the title that baffles me. Nothing about the description really indicates she needs to be badass. I'd vote to rename to "Hot Chick In A Suit" and make the current title a redirect to that to keep the inbounds. No need to redefine since the description is pretty much just saying it's suit-based fanservice.

I'm generally against sex-segregated tropes because the Spear Counterpart becomes neutral and the Distaff Counterpart turns into creepy gushing.

[up][up] That name is not gonna work. "Hot Chick In A Suit" in a suit is gonna get you just that "female characters wearing suits tropers find attractive".

Not that I particularly support redefining, but such an action WOULD tie into the Sweater Girl thing in a way by being focused on portraying a character as serious and sexy or whatever

[up] Which I think is probably covered by Hot Librarian.

Hmm, maybe. That trope is broader than I thought and yet it carries some assumptions that I don't think are particularly necessary. Anyway, Hot Librarian sounds more like 'prudish but sexy' while the proposed redefinition is 'confidence and power are sexy.' For example, a female executive in fiction might emphasize her sexuality as a display of power, tweak her bargaining position, tease people or just make an outright pass at someone. Whatever. A prudish woman would probably not even think of doing that.
