  • Adorkable: Jack ticks a lot of the boxes for this trope: energetic, laughs often, has a tendency to go off on tangents and is unbelievably friendly. His Papyrus's Big Christmas Adventure video starts with him playing with his Sans and Papyrus paper figures, only for him to sheepishly ask if it was good.
  • Arc Fatigue: Brought up by Jack in an episode of Tube Tycoon when discussing about how he lost enthusiasm for certain games like Skate 3 and Happy Wheels, which led to him potentially rehashing jokes and creating a sense that there wasn't much more he could do in the game. This is why he brought his Happy Wheels series to an end once it reached its 100th episode.
  • Archive Panic: In mid-November 2015, he uploaded his two thousandth video, and shows no signs of stopping. Most are at least ten minutes long, with some (such as Life Is Strange and Undertale) being over an hour in length. See you in a few months!
  • Awesome Music:
  • Broken Base:
    • The final part of Jack's Until Dawn playthrough features him losing five characters in the space of about half an hour, after doing well for the majority of the game. Many commenters were not happy about this (especially if those killed included their favorite characters), while others were more understanding, realizing that bad outcomes are just a part of the game. Granted, Jack did play the game again and saved all the characters, as well as understand the story more.
    • In 2020, Jack played a game called Wanking Simulator. The basic (and obscene) premise of the game was that you beat up citizens in a town called “Gay” and masturbate over them. Not only was the game’s content extremely homophobic, the developers turned out to share those views. After lots of complaints, Jack took the video down.
      • Which then led to an additional question among some fans: should Jack have uploaded the video in the first place after seeing the game’s content?
  • Can't Un-Hear It:
    • A large sect of the Undertale fandom can't ever hear Flowey as anything but his version now. He's always done great voices, but this one really stuck with people.
    • Likewise, Night in the Woods fans consider him to be the defacto voice of Gregg.
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
    • As if Jack taking his Sims 4 kids and locking them up in small featureless spaces more resemblant of cells than bedrooms wasn't enough, Jack treats their deaths like accomplishments. Because of this, the episode saw a small backlash.
    • The "Wanking Simulator" video, for reasons described above.
  • Die for Our Ship: Jack has certain fans who pretty much violently attack any woman who so much as comes near him for the sake of the Septiplier ship.
  • Discredited Meme:
    • The Septiplier ship became this after a while. Originally, Jack and Mark thought of it as harmless fun, but some fans took it way too far in ways such as thinking Jack and Mark were actually in a relationship, getting upset when they had actual girlfriends, trashing said girlfriends, and writing and drawing sexually explicit content of the two when Jack directly asked them not to. Due to this, Jack's attitude progressed from laughing at the ship, to tolerating it, to disliking it, to actively hating it.
    • The "Jack's dad" memes immediately became this, with many people finding the fact that people were literally dedicating time to making fun of Jack's deceased father to be very tasteless and crude, especially when it was pointed out that a lot of the memes were being made by immature younger watchers who thought it was somehow funny.
  • Fandom Rivalry: Thanks to his Undertale playthrough, Jack's fans have taken to going after YouTube voice-actors like David Near, who had to disable the comments on his own Flowey voice video due to the wrath of JSE fans.
  • Fan Nickname: Jack introduced a new Charlie Chaplin-seque character in “Jacksepticeye: The Silent Movie” but neglected to name him. The fanbase have thus taken to calling him “Jackson”, “Dapper Jack,” or “Dapper Boy”. Jack eventually confirmed in a livestream that he likes the name “Jameson Jackson” for him.
    • The group of other Irish Youtubers that he began frequently live-streaming with during the Covid-19 outbreak have been nicknamed the "Irish Gang" or the "Irish Lads".
  • Fridge Logic: Jack notes in Sims 4 how Steve can go fishing despite not owning a fishing rod or bringing it to the park.
  • Growing the Beard: Arguably around the start of his GTA V series. Definitely after he was mentioned in a PewDiePie video.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Three days before an incident happened with Mark's friend Daniel, Jack accuses Mark of being sad and depressed in a joking mannernote . After what has happened, it's a lot more chilling than it sounds.
    • During his video of Grand Theft Auto V with Star Wars mods, he tosses a sticky bomb at a helicopter with a cry of "Kobe!". This was uploaded in December 2019. About a month later, Kobe Bryant suddenly and unexpectedly perished in a helicopter crash alongside his teenage daughter.
    • The video where he details why 2017 was his toughest year on YouTube, especially the part where Jack talks about the mental health problems that he suffered throughout the year, became a lot harder to watch after the release of his "Answering REALLY Personal Questions" video, where Jack mentions he briefly (but seriously) considered suicide at the end of 2017.
      • Going on this same theme, the line "I want to go back to when I was happy" (spoken by Chase in TIE: A Game About Depression) is suddenly a lot worse.
    • In one of his "Reading Your Comments" videos, Sean discusses PewDiePie's decision to turn off the comments section in his videos, stating that while he normally doesn't support such behavior, he feels it's justified with Felix, as his comments section had become nothing but a mindless, tedious wall of text and noise that was worthless to navigate or interact with. Sean would later abandon Reading Your Comments from 2018 onwards due to his own comments section becoming exactly like Felix's, with most comments either being dull and uninteresting, or filled with spam and hate speech.
  • He Really Can Act: He's not an actor, per se, but he usually does voices for characters in games he plays, and they're usually quite good. His Flowey voice, however, really knocked it out of the park. There's a reason a lot of the comments on those videos can be summed up as, "Thanks, I didn't need to sleep tonight, anyway."
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • During his playthrough of the Bathroom level in I Am Bread, he tries and fails to go outside via a window, and says "I would have loved to go outside, and be a toast around town. That'd be my dream." In the Garden and Petrol Station levels, he gets to do just that!
    • In this Happy Wheels video, Jack plays a quiz level that includes the question: "Did Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an Oscar?" The correct answer is no...or at least it was until Leonardo finally won his Oscar at the 2016 Academy Awards for his role in The Revenant.
    • In part 2 of his Let's Play of South Park: The Stick of Truth, he mentions how he'd love it if they made a game about the kids' superhero personas. Three years later...
    • A smaller one, but in the part 1 of his HuniePop video, he mentions that changing color of your hair is no big deal and he can do it without breaking a sweat. He eventually actually dyed his hair green.
    • When Jack first met Sans in Undertale and heard his Voice Grunting, he notes that he sounds like Patrick Star. Several years later, people discovered Sans's Voice Grunting actually originates from Patrick.
  • Ho Yay: The shipping fandom of Septiplier.
    • Both Markiplier and Jack teased at this, such as Mark proclaiming himself the wife in The Forest. Now discredited, see above.
    • Jack actually joke-proposed to Mark during a con, but got shot down by him. They now constantly joke about how Jack was dumped by Mark.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: A lot of Henry Stickmin fans were displeased that Jack's playthrough of Completing the Mission only covered 5 out of the 16 story routes, nor did Jack go for every fail as he did in prior games. The fact it's clear Jack didn't replay any of the previous games, to refresh his memory of the characters or story doesn't help matters.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Jack succeeded in making a Forced Meme with his "irony" Visual Pun from one of his Reading Your Comments videos.
    • Jack and Mark, with their newly dyed hair, are now being referred to as Cosmo and Wanda respectively.
    • And with Pewds dying his hair blue, there's been a glut of The Powerpuff Girls jokes as well.
    • Now with Mark's hair red, there has been Mark and Jack as Mario and Luigi, respectively.
    • Yet more hair jokes: Jack redyed his hair an insanely vivid shade of green in January 2017, and now he's either glow-in-the-dark or a highlighter.
    • "fuckin grass!"
    • Carrots.
    • Malicious Gamer.
    • Specifically for God of War (PS4), he calls it Dad of BOY, because he plays as a dad and son duo, and Kratos always calls Atreus "BOY".
    • Jack slapping the whiteboard and yelling "LAUGH!" for his "Funniest Home Videos" series. He's also uploaded a greenscreen of himself doing it, so fans can make their own "LAUGH!" clips.
    • Feraljak/Eat the Bugs Soyjak Explanation
  • Never Live It Down: His gaffe at his PAX West 2016 panel in which a person dressed up in iDubbbz's "Green Cunt" costume asked him "Have you seen the movie Chef?", which is a meme from iDubbbz's collaborative videos with Filthy Frank, and Jack unintentionally ruined the joke since he didn't know anything about the meme. He did make up for it when he appeared as a cameo on Frank's "HUMAN CAKE" video where he (alongside Jontron, Makemebad35, Joey Salads, KSI, Pewdiepie, Anthony Fantano, and friggen V Sauce gave Max his pubic hair for their cake. Author's Saving Throw and Squick rolled in one.

  • Signature Scene: That part from Christmas Shopping Simulator...
Jack: Put down that TV! (PUNT)
  • Tear Jerker: See here.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: Jack's thumbnails.
  • Vocal Minority: In 2019, Jack started receiving criticism from tea blogs about his relationship with GabSmolders, a lack of ego content in recent months, the humor of his videos, and other reasons that can be found on Tumblr. Aside from one post asking people not to needlessly spread hate, Jack has stayed out of it.
